Deno's Wonder Wheel Amusement Park

Deno's Wonder Wheel on Coney Island is the first of the only two Eccentric Ferris wheels in the world

Deno's Wonder Wheel Amusement Park is centered around a world classic 150 foot Ferris wheel built on location at Coney Island all the way back in 1920. This is no ordinary Ferris wheel, in fact there is only one other like it in the world, a modern version at Disney's California Adventure Park in California which was inspired by the original Wonder Wheel. What is unique about about the Wonder Wheel, is that the cars slide in and out along a track between the center and the outer portion of the wheel as the wheel rotates. Considerable swaying is involved along with this additional motion making the normally tame Ferris wheel ride quite a bit more adventurous. For those who prefer a more conventional Ferris wheel experience, 8 or the 24 cars are fixed to the outer rim and can be boarded through a separate que.

Over time a number of other amusement rides and attractions including a young children's amusement park opened adjacent to the Wonder Wheel. Subsequently Deno's purchased these neighbouring attractions to create the Deno's Wonder Wheel Amusement Park enjoyed by so many today. There are now a total of 22 rides including a rollercoaster. Most of the rides are suitable for young children, however a few are aimed at 'big kids' and adults making this a great all round place for family fun. Neighbouring Luna Park expands your choices to even more rides.

Cost: Admission is free, but you must purchase tickets for the rides. Please see the official website for pricing.
