Located nearly 20 miles east of New York City on Long Island the Nassau Coliseum is included in our collection especially for hockey fans, as it is the home to the New York Islanders NHL team. If you want to take in an Islanders home game during your visit to New York, this is where you must go.

Often just called "The Coliseum", it seats for 16,250 for hockey and somewhat more for other events. Like most arena's the Nassau Coliseum hosts a number of other sporting events and music concerts throughout the year.

Take the Long Island Rail Road from Penn Station (Manhattan), the Atlantic Terminal (Brooklyn) or Jamaica Station (Queens)to Hempstead Station and walk south one block to Hempstead Bus Terminal on West Columbia Street and take either the N70, N71, or N72, which will drop you off on Hempstead Turnpike opposite the Nassau Coliseum. (8 minutes walking and about 11 minutes on the bus not including wait time)
