This year’s annual Honda Celebration of Light in Vancouver will be extra special with spectacular aerial performances by famed Red Bull air race pilot Pete McLeod.

Prior to Wednesday night’s fireworks, everyone will be treated to a double feature of both the Pete McLeod airshow and the Canadian Armed Forces Snowbirds demonstration team.

These additional performances will make it truly worth your while to arrive early and get a good spot along Second Beach, English Bay, Sunset Beach or Vanier Park.

The Celebration of Light has been delighting Vancouver-ites and visitors every summer since 1990. Each year three countries compete in this annual festival. This year’s competitors are South Africa Sweden and South Korea.

Music and food trucks will be plentiful throughout the day and during the fireworks.

This event always draws a huge crowd so it is good to take public transit rather than driving and having to cope with a lack of parking spots and the traffic jams that are always prevalent rate after the show.

This years event will be held on 3 nights, Saturday July 31, Wednesday August 1, and Saturday August 4.
