Know what weather to expect and the best time of year to visit London
For some reason the City of London has a bit of a reputation as a rainy city, but this simply is not the case; infact London receives substantially less rainfall on average than many other Europeon and North American cities except for those in dry desert locations. What London does get though is a lot of cloudy or foggy grey days and not as much sunshine as many other cities, which is probably why the perception exists.

Best Months to Visit London: June, July, August, September
While not the sunniest place on earth, London does have a very consistent and moderate climate with cool winters progressing into comfortably warm summers. Rainfall is usually light and is spread out pretty evenly across the year. There are typically a couple of less rain days per month during the warmer months from June through September. During winter cold snaps the low temperatures can drop a little below freezing, but are never extreme. Occasional hot spells in the summer can occur sending the temperature into the low 30°C range, but for the most part extreme temperatures are not the common in London.
Because of the slight reduction in the likelihood of rainy days and the comfortable temperatures we recommend anytime from May through September as the best time to visit London, however April and October aren't bad either - just slightly cooler with a little more chance of rain.
