The Qantas Credit Union Arena formerly called the Sydney Entertainment Centre is Sydney's premier venue for live concerts, especially rock concerts. It is also home to the Sydney Kings National Basketball League franchise. Past performances have included famous names such as Elton John, Kylie Minogue, David Bowie and many more. Family entertainment including Disney on Ice and other sporting events including boxing, tennis and motocross are also held there.

Sydney was ripe for a good indoor concert venue after many a rain soaked outdoor concert during the 1970s. As a result, construction of the Sydney Entertainment Centre began in 1979 in what was at that time a rather neglected and run down part of Sydney. Located in the very central Haymarket / Chinatown district, the Sydney Entertainment Centre was finally opened in 1983 and helped breathe new life into the surrounding community. There is seating for about 10,500 fans during basketball games and up to 13,000 fans for concerts.

If you want to attend one of the Qantas Credit Union Arena many events during your vacation, you will find its central location makes it very easy to get to on public transit.
