Montreal Botanical Garden
(Jardin Botanique de Montreal)
Jardin Botanique de Montreal (Botanical Garden) is without a doubt one of the best botanical gardens worldwide
One of the attractions in an area called A Space for Life, the Montreal Botanical Garden is recognized as one of the top such gardens anywhere in the world. There is no question that these stunning gardens live up to that expectation.
The gardens are divided into about 30 different thematic gardens including the Chinese Garden, Japanese Garden, First Nations Garden and Alpine Garden. There are also 10 greenhouses and a huge arboretum to be explored. These beautiful gardens cover an area of 75 hectares and boast over 22000 varieties of plantlife. For anyone who is interested in botany these gardens are an absolute must see, although we can not imagine anyone not wanting to visit them.
The gardens which were founded in 1931 are a significant centre for the study of horticulture. Every February through April they feature the popular annual Butterflies Go Free exhibit in which 1000s of beautiful butterflys and moths are released inside one of the exhibition greenhouses.
Your admission to the gardens also includes entry to the fascinating Insectarium where you will learn amazing things about the world of insects. The largest collection of it's kind in North America with upwards of 160,000 specimens the Insectarium captivates visitors of all ages.
We recommend that you allow a minimum of 2 hours for your visit to the garden, however you could easily spend and entire day, especially if you have a strong interest in botany and plants.

out of 5 A breathtaking oasis of greenery in the middle of the city! Its enchanting displays, meticulously maintained grounds, and diverse plant collections left us in awe. I think the admission fee is well worth it for the beauty and tranquility it offers. A must-visit for anyone seeking natural splendor and serenity in Montreal!
