Burnaby's Deer Lake Park features a tranquil lake in the heart of the city. It is an ideal place to visit for those who prefer a peaceful and serene locale. You can rent a canoe and paddle out onto the lake or enjoy a pleasant stroll around the lake and wetlands on a series of pathways and boardwalks. Deer Lake Park is particularly beautiful during Autumn when the many maple trees are showing off their vibrant fall colours contrasted with the vivid green lawns and evergreens. You'll definitely want to bring your camera here.

The park is the home of the Burnaby Art Gallery, Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, and the Burnaby Village Museum. Fine Dining is available at the Hart House Restaurant. There are a few outdoor concerts and events held in the park each year during which you may want to avoid the park unless taking in the event.

Deer Lake Park Reviews

Rated 4.6 out of 5 Star Rating

5 Star Rating Perfect for a stroll and taking in the breathtaking scenery! I visited this park with my family and had an amazing time. You can even rent a boat and enjoy swimming around and having a blast! It's a great spot to spend time with loved ones and connect with nature. Just note that swimming might not be allowed in all areas, so be sure to check the park rules before heading out on the water."

5 Star Rating I went for a walk around the lake. The circumference is around 2 miles / 3.2 km. It was raining, but I still came across a lot of people walking their dogs, walking by themselves or running. The trail is very well maintained and anti slippery. The parking lot also had many spaces, but I could see it getting full on a pleasant day during peak hours.

5 Star Rating December 23, 2023 - this place is amazing during Christmas. So much to see and learn all while decorated so beautifully. We had a great time. We highly recommend checking out the blacksmith shop, and going for a ride one the 110year old Carousel fully restored from playland back in the day. Its a site to see for sure.

5 Star Rating One of my fave areas to go for a walk. An easy walk with lots of nice habitat to take in. I really enjoy the area where the wooden walkway takes you through the marsh, and during the warmer seasons you can spot some turts chilling on the logs in the lake. 🐢
