5 Star Rating Jardin Nelson will always have a line of people waiting to get in during the summer months, but I can tell you the wait is worth it! This is a lovely restaurant set in a beautiful garden away from the craziness of Montreal’s Old Town streets. It’s literally a hidden oasis! Once you’re given a menu, you’ll find there is a plethora of options - they have a very impressive selection of crêpes (which I absolutely would recommend getting), excellent salads, very good pizzas, and that’s really just scratching the surface! They have so many different items on the menu, it’s crazy! Try a variety of different things, and don’t be afraid to ask the waiters/waitresses what they would recommend. That’s what we did, and it helped a lot! Service was very good, food came out in a reasonable manner, and despite it being in a very touristy part of Montreal, prices were not exorbitant. All in all, a very impressive restaurant we will always return to whenever we are visiting the city!

5 Star Rating I never wait in line to eat. Ever. Why would I wait to give up my money. Today I had no choice because we were with other people. And am I glad I did. After 20 minutes we were seated in the middle of this huge, multi-level outdoor restaurant, built in between other buildings. Foliage spills from the roofs. A live jazz band plays. Hundreds of happy hungry people are seated. The servers are busy, but take the time to make you feel welcome. Most of the lunch time prices seem to be below $30. The plates are plentiful and delicious. I could not stop looking around; so much to see and hear. Bathrooms downstairs. A wonderful experience.

5 Star Rating The highlight of our trip to Montréal. Their beautiful setting makes this one of the most memorable restaurants I've ever been to. The large trees in this hidden garden are magical. Live jazz playing? Amazing vibes. Our server was knowledgeable, kind, and lively. The place gets busy so I'd say most tables are pretty close together. The food portions were on the bigger side. My Lapin Crepe was generously filled so I had half the next day for breakfast! The Maple Pudding was mostly just maple syrup soup but others in my group had more pudding, not sure what happened there. My table was also happy with their menu meal choices. Thanks for the fun night!

4 Star Rating Everyone told me I had to try this place. So I did. I had I stopped for lunch on what was one of hottest fall days I’ve encountered. 32c. On October 3rd. The patio was lovely. Shaded and breezy I had the crepe Florentine. It was a nicely presented but pretty basic. I thought it was a bit overdone Great service. I’ve tried it. I would go back

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would definitely recommend eating here to anyone. The waiters and waitresses were extremely friendly and very knowledgeable when explaining the different menu options. This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants. Every meal was presented perfectly and offered a variety of different ingredients. Definitely a great place for anyone who enjoys high quality food options.

5 Star Rating Had a wonderful evening at this restaurant for my fiancée's birthday. For starters, we had the grilled octopus and the scallop crudo. For mains, we had the venison and the beef striploin. Both were cooked to perfection. Finally, for dessert, we had the praline and the bread pudding. I have to say everything was succulent and our expectations were met. All the waiters were exceptional and the atmosphere was amazing. Highly recommended and will definitely go back!

5 Star Rating This was the BEST experience we have had at a restaurant in all of Montreal. Being gluten free, it has been hard to enjoy a proper meal without being difficult at a restaurant. The staff here went ABOVE AND BEYOND any expectations we had. They have many gluten free options including bread and dessert. The food was incredible and the service… WOW. They made us feel so comfortable and welcomed. We didn’t want to leave!! This will now be our go to!

5 Star Rating You never know what experience you will have as a solo diner. I tried to dine here a few months ago but there was no availability. This time I made sure to make a reservation and was not disappointed. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left I was treated as a friend. The food was fantastic, I enjoyed listening to conversations of the other diners, and most importantly, everybody made my evening away from home feel like home. I will certainly return when I'm back in the area. Oh, and try the pistachio pasta!

3 Star Rating I've been here twice now and am once again rather unimpressed. The price for the food is unjustified. The lamb ragu was hardly a ragu. Between the small chunks of cut lamb and the thin acidic sauce, it was less than enjoyable. The decor is so ugly and dated, I really don't get the appeal.

5 Star Rating My family and I went to Modena tonight for dinner and it was absolutely amazing! The service was great - our waiter was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The food is DELICIOUS. The portions are quite large and we were expecting to have leftovers, but we all cleared our plates since it tasted so good... I will be returning here next time I am in Montreal!

2 Star Rating This place was terrible. Ambiance was that of a restaurant that is not loved. Menus were stacked on top of the unused bar (which was the only bar in the restaurant) and oddly enough had customers sitting at it eating (with a stack of about 15 menus next to them)... As we were being sat down we were being warned by waiter and (manager?) that the service would be slow since they were full... anyone with 1 eye could see they were not full. True to their word, the service was awful. Took an hour to get two bowls of pasta (the same dish, might I add). Drinks were awful, I am pretty sure I was drinking cranberry syrup with my vodka. Only redeeming factor was the food was actually delicious... when it finally got to us. Even still, that wont be enough for us to go back. For all the restaurants in the Old Port of Montreal, we were very unlucky to land on this one.

2 Star Rating OVERPRICED BARILLA! I expected to have a nice pasta, prepared by hand but instead they serve a basic Barilla that you can buy in any store and boil yourself. The meatball that comes with pasta No.14 also feels like they bought it in a supermarket and just heated it. To ask 24$ for such a quality is a crime! The sauce in pasta is over spiced with rosemary, too much, not enjoyable at all! Feels like someone tried to cook pasta for a 1st time really! If you buy a ready to eat Italian sauce in a supermarket, it would be better than this one for sure. The atmosphere was very tourist, but not in a good sense like the Banquise, more like very crowded and dark. The salad bar that is included in the pasta price is very basic, simple pasta salad with mayo, potato with mayo, nothing worthwhile. The bread they serve is also from a supermarket and not from a good one. I expected to enjoy some freshly baked tasty bread, but it is not the case! The garlic butter is very artificial and it also from a store and it is a cheap one. The burrata costs 24$ and it is small and not fresh! The fresh burrata should be a bit liquid on the inside, this one is more firm. The waiters do not replenish the water. Over all, it is a place which serves cheap food from a supermarket but puts an overpriced tag on it, do not recommend.

4 Star Rating The atmosphere was nice. The food was good and the portions were generous. The salad bar was ok, not a lot of variety, but it does the job. I wish the service was better, there was no explanation on the menu, nothing about the all-you-can-eat salad bar. We even have to ask for our bread in the middle of the service. The waiting time was also long even if the place is almost empty around 4pm.

They have an all you can eat salad bar that is included when you buy a main meal. I had the lamb and pesto pasta. The lamb was very good and the pasta was tasty as well. The lobster pasta was not great though it was in a sweet cream sauce and the lobster was a bit chewy. Overall it was a nice restaurant.

2 Star Rating Unfortunately my experience with the restaurant wasn't good. I went there to celebrate my birthday with my wife after looking for an Italian restaurant. When we ordered our plates, my wife asked the waitress if they had anything special for me since it was my birthday. Her exact words were: "You can choose a dessert". What we expected was that it would be a free dessert. But, for my surprise it wasn't. After I asked her if the bill was correct, since it was charging for the dessert, she confirmed and handed me the machine to pay and stood stand looking how much tip I would give her. Very rude. The plates presentation were very attractive but the taste didn't have anything special.

4 Star Rating Stopped in twice for dinner on my last visit to Montreal Great patio. Fun people watching. Good service and a lovely dinner of bruschetta followed by the Penni Alla Gigi. Service was very good. Friendly service and nicely attentive without being aggressive My second visit was not as good. Cooler night, so inside seating. Comfortable room. But as a solo traveler they sometimes try to hide you. I was seated so close to the service area at the bar I thought they were going to put me to work. I asked to be moved and was accommodated. The pizza was nothing to write home about. It was fine but somewhat tasteless. but I expected more from an Italian eatery. Based on my previous experience. I’ll be back. But only for the pasta.

You can make reservations in advance by calling them or by using different reservation apps. There’s no parking because it’s close to the old port. Bathrooms are clean. Food is worth the price. Lots of selection of pasta, pizza, lunch menus and lots of entrees. Lots of wine choices as well. Ingredients are fresh and really well picked. The food is always hot and it’s worth the price. 4 Star Rating Felt like having quick Cantonese dinner, found this gem in Chinatown, after checking out the menu, we order young chow fried rice, the portion was good however the taste wasn’t flavorful enough. Not salty enough and missing eggs and wok fire tasting (wok hay). Besides that only one waiter running the show, he was efficient and quick. Over all we ordered their two must order dishes, salt and pepper fried pork chops and chicken n shrimp with mayo sauce. Both dish was pretty decent, the portion to the pork chop was huge! Consumer Price index was over the chart! They must had 13 to 14 pieces of pork chops for under 14 cad. That is really good value! Besides that we ordered garlic stir fried buk choy, and bitter melon with black bean beef which was off the menu. Over all was great dinner with plenty of left over pork chops. I think we had like 7 pieces left. Will be back to this place when we are ever back to Montreal again.

4 Star Rating A cozy Cantonese restaurant on the second floor at the end of Chinatown. The servings are generous and good for sharing. The service was polite and efficient. Given there was only one waiter working the tables and the front desk, it all ran very well even when it got a bit busier. The food was good but the noodles I ordered were kind of clumped with the sauce just poured on top so next time, will mix it around first. My dining companion had a shrimp dish and enjoyed it very much. There are some vegetarian options across the menu in the appetizers, veggie dishes, and noodle dishes.

Came here all the way from Las Vegas for an event and ended up eating at this establishment TWICE IN ONE DAY! Best dishes are the shrimp and chicken with mayo sauce and fried calamari. Everything else was delicious too! The service and food was just as good during lunch as it was during dinner. The price points are amazing for the quality you get. The person I was served by, I’m assuming is the owner. He is very accommodating and makes sure everyone and everything is well. The tables are always clean as well. There is a $1/wasted food fine if you cant finish what you order though. We thought every single item we ate tasted amazing. Only thing we would change is have more meat variety, more vegetable options and more dipping/seasoning sauces. Otherwise we had an elite time! Things we tried: volcano roll, scallops, crab stick, spring roll, rice, Kimchi, cucumbers, lamb, beef, sweet bun, ice cream

The food was exceptionally fresh and delicious, and the novelty of robots delivering food to your table added to the experience. The only drawback was the challenge of finding parking on the street. 3 Star Rating Food is fine, they were out of two drinks we wanted. Our waiters/waitresses were nice but many times they forgot to bring us our drinks, and food. Also the system had issues and even though we ordered some stuff, sometimes it came twice or not at all, another time we had to directly ask them "hey you forgot our drinks" and only then did they tell us the kitchen was out of these, but it was not indicated on the system (phone ) to order. Ultimately we changed what we wanted and ended up having a great night. It is a very friendly and communal vibe, the choices they have is vast and I was happily surprised at some of the options(did no expect them to taste good.) I dont recommend the fish, but I do recommend the beer Tsingtao(I'm not a drinker or a beer person, but it paired nicely with the grilled meat). *dumplings, ribs, beer, mussels were my finds of the night, and which I would recommend. I don't think its wheelchair accessible, the stairs to enter are very steep, and unless they have a secret entry at the back, I dont see how someone could enter the establishment. Technically if you had someone who could lift you up, all their tables have enough space that it could fit a wheelchair, but definitely no wheelchair entry. Final word, the machine is so cute, its sorta not perfect it hits wall, and stuff but it makes little faces like happy or sad or angry so 10/10 would give a tip to the robot carrying trays

Reviews

2 Star Rating I don't understand the great rating, the broth was so salty and the whole bowl of food was super basic. I can make much better at home and I'm not even Asian. For the love of God please I repeat do not take the Takayoki! It was absolutely disgusting! I tried 1 ball and I wanted to puke. My husband ate the remaining 3 because he was hungry and told me they were not great. Once we got home, he had to rush to the bathroom to puke. I love food and I'm no way a picky eater but avoid this place at all cost.

4 Star Rating This place is located on the second floor. The stairs are steep. The food was good. The restaurant does not have Wi-Fi and the bathroom could have been better maintained. The place is cozy and the staff offered great service. I found it a little pricey for lunch.

5 Star Rating Ramen tastes absolutely delicious. The volcano ramen and Sumo ramen are highly recommended. Soup is bold and faty. I wish the ramen noodle would be thicker. Good customer service. The location is on 2nd floor of building, quite hidden from the street. If the cashier counter would decorate better it will be impressed. Overall, nice to try once

4 Star Rating 🍽️ Food : 3/5 🤵Service : 5/5 📍Place : 5/5 💵Price: 5/5 Really good service! The server was super friendly and we received our food very quickly. The restaurant was pretty small but the decoration was very cute. The price was great for quantity we got. The dishes were good, only negative point is that the broth in the ramen lacked flavours and tasted a little bit like water. Other than that we had a very great time and would recommend this restaurant.
