needed a warm place to retreat from the cold after visiting Shakespeare & Co. and stumbled upon this lovely restaurant. had tea while waiting for dinner service which only starts at 7pm. they have wifi if you need it. it's a beautiful, elegant and quaint space. i love that it's dimly lit, gives you a very 80s-restaurant -n french-movies ambience, along with the framed artwork and shelved books. ordered croquettes de camembert (most divine), daube de bœuf (which comes with tagliatelle) and the salad that comes with cheese. they were all delicious. the waitstaff were warm and friendly.

Dropped by this quaint place during our son’s birthday. We were all tired from walking around the whole day, but there server really made us feel welcome, traditional French cuisine which was fantastic. They even gave us free slices of cake to celebrate our son’s birthday.
Came back the next day to have more food and dessert :)

I like the atmosphere and environment here. The owner is very friendly, with a sense of humor.
The food is fresh, mild and delicious. It is the taste of home cooking.

This place has Paris vibes throughout. Cool and stylish and we even had a lovely house cat join us for a tickle.
The food was delicious and with a beer or glass of wine it will get you in the Paris mood.

The sashimi was in my opinion the star of all the courses presented. The place specializes in tempura. I have to admit that everything was great to the exception of the rice soup that was too salty and some tempuras like the courgette or brocoli lacked some in depth flavors and the matcha dessert that was too sweet for my taste. The squid and the foie gras tempura were outstanding.

We tried 58 euro menu.
1 more sashimi and Chazuke than the 48 euro menu.
15 different fried meat, vegetables and seafood.
Try the Sake there to pair the fried food, it will give you some fresh feeling.
The price is very reasonable for Paris. Recommend people who like the fried food to visit, but not a place for good sushi or sashimi.

One of the best meals we had in Paris! The set menu was extremely thoughtful, service was wonderful, and the attention to details elevates the whole experience. The decor was very homely and comfortable, but the food and service is gourmet.

Intimate, unique Japanese restaurant with a great tasting menu presented on beautiful ceramics. A bit variety of stimulating flavor profiles, presented in a very kind way (and very affordable to my personal opinion). Highly recommend.

By far my favorite Japanese restaurant in Paris. The kushiague are delicious. The wine and sake selection is perfect. The chef and his staff are wonderful. And it’s the most original duck thru the little door to enter the cozy restaurant. I love sitting at the bar to watch to cooking in action. Thank you Shu for creating a little corner of Japan in Paris!

You have your Brasserie Lipp's, the Precope and then on top of those you have Le Balzar. So go! Don't hesitate. Well what makes it special? You skip the masses of tourists, you hobnob with posh Parisiennes, you are tended to by an unassuming staff dedicated to tradition in taste, decor and atmosphere. And you don't pay a fortune. Read their wiki page to enlighten you.
My experience? It was good. So good I went for breakfast the next day. That's how good. Let my photo's speak for themselves.

Had dinner here it was fantastic, I ordered the duck leg with the gratin it was crispy but tender on the inside, not dry at all. The flavor was focused on the duck without it being gamy at all. The tart tatain was acidic and was balanced very well with the cream making it a very great touch to finish the this meal with without being overly sweet.

Came here due to a recommendation from the concierge.
I had the Beef Bourguignon (pictured) and my brother and dad had the steak.
Meal was good, nothing to complain about, nor write home about.
Great atmosphere sitting on the street.
Had the ‘Caramel Cream’ (pictured) for dessert. It was fantastic and definitely aren’t the stand out from the meal.

We booked this place based on Google reviews and were very satisfied. The staff were very hospitable, spoke English enough for us to order with no errors and were polite as ever. We ordered drinks, starters and mains and were not left waiting despite it being relatively busy. The food was outstanding. The lamb korma has to be one of the best I’ve had. I would highly recommend this place if you are visiting Paris and are looking for good dinner vibes in the Latin quarter. Ask for a seat by the window for some people watching entertainment!

Awesome authentic Indian food. The person that served us, appeared to be the manager, and he treated us great. Food came out good and fast, everything perfect.

The food taste is okay. We found small bugs in the take away food. The location of hotel is lively and you will find many restaurants aroind and good amount of crowd on the street. The ambience of the restaurant is good. The service is good my only complaint is the hygiene. They provide both veg and non veg options and they also have a predefined menu which you can choose for Dine in. The restaurant was not so crowded when we visited the place.

This is a place for people who love live singing and edgy panache atmosphere. We were lucky to have different performers and everyone is so talented. This place is for people with a soul 🥰 who appreciate warmth ams passion vibes. I always make reservations to guarantee immediate availability. Gets really busy after 9pm.

Visited in Dec 2023
What a fantastic dining experience it was at Sola. The dinner is a 10 course meal of French-Japanese fusion cuisine. Every dish/course is a surprise (you’ll get to know about the menu at the end of the meal) and very flavorful. The amalgamation of Japanese and French cooking techniques & ingredients is really well done and is one of the most unique I’ve had this year.
Service is really good with the people at the restaurant being very kind and polite. The restaurant also catered to my allergies.
All in all this place is a must visit in my view if you’re in Paris for a vacation and are living close by.

We experience the lunch course menu. The food is great, and the service is excellent!! It has a great atmosphere, and I highly recommend reserving the Japanese salon seat that would give you a great experience on top of the experience. They have an excellent selection of sake, you should try one. Price is very reasonable for what they offer. Cannot forget the Maccha dessert in the last course!!!!

Omakase at its best. Nice people, creative, well executed food, nicely presented. Some dishes are spectacular. Only personal drawback: Uninspired bar-something piano music in the background that does not make any sense. But this place deserves a visit. The wine and sake pairing also worked well.

We booked here for a table at the counter expecting that the head chef will be there but it was their serving who was doing the starters and desserts only whom I noticed was not organized. Best to get a booking at the basement with the cave since it looks better. As for the food, it was very disappointing as I’ve tried a couple of french japanese restaurants in paris such as shiro and passione and narro and this did not live up to the expectation to think it has 1 star. The desserts were good but wasn’t impressed with the rest. The sommelier was really good though. Very knowledgeable and passionate. Overall it was okay.

Wooow!!! We ordered the 5 snack course where you can choose between delicious cheeses etc. It was one of the best food & wine we had in Paris!! Make sure to try their guacamole as well, it was so delicious. :))

We came to Monk for a late dinner and since it was pouring rain outside we decided to take a table deep inside the restaurant. From our table we could see the water running down the cobblestone street and hear the thunders but we were warm and protected from the wind and cold.
We had the hamburger without the cheese and beef tab with French fries. Both portions were big enough to satisfy the strong appetite. The beef was very tender and juicy. It was served with a tiny dish with caramelized onions and a small garden salad.
The service was quick and the atmosphere was very relaxing. The prices are reasonable too.
It was interesting to hear Freddy Mercury, Queens, The Weekend and Ariana Grande as a background music in France.
We also ordered a warm chocolate dessert with a vanilla ice cream, but couldn’t finish it. It was very good, only we overestimated our abilities. 😊
We had our very late dinner and when we left around 11:00 pm and there were still people in the restaurant.
I definitely recommend you to try this place.

This is one of my favorite places in all of Paris, in all of the world. Great live jazz manouche in a top notch atmosphere. The staff is wonderful. Juan and Fanny are the absolute best. Fanny, if you see this, you guys made me and my friends visit awesome (the two American guys in the corner table by the stage).
We got to see a young up and coming guitarist by the name of Marius Bojan and his rhythm player Arsene Charry, and they were out of this world. Really put on a show.
I absolutely can't wait to come back. These kinds of places are what make Paris so spectacular for me. Don't miss it!

I was looking for a vegan lunch option that served French food (rather than the typical Middle Eastern or Indian options). This place hit the spot. The vegan cheese plate was solid—the blue cheese is one of the best faux blue cheeses I have ever had. I had the lunch special: mushroom au gratin and it was also fantastic. English speaking but perfectly willing to let me try out my broken French, which I appreciated.

I totally recomment this place, Gluten free and vegan options are clearly marked on the menu. I ate a beautiful and nutritious plate of a lot of of stuff and took a vegan avocado cake to go, which was amazing. Also if you havent tried the gluten free qiunoa beer, please do. We found out that this is the oldest vegeterian restaurant in France.

One of the best vegan places we’ve tried in Paris. Good to get vegan lunch option that served French food (rather than the typical Hummus/Falafel options). This place was perfect. We tried the Berbre and we polished it off. The chickpea mousse was great as well. Hamidou is a one man army, serving Al the tables but never looked flustered. We were very impressed with the service. Would highly recommend this place.

What an absolute delight! We were staying at hotel nearby and I was looking for something relatively close but I was also leery of a lot of the restaurants in the area looking a little too "tourist trap." Found the reviews for this place on Google and gave it a whirl. So glad we did, it was the best overall meal experience of our trip.
It's a few steps off the main street and missing a bit of the quintessential "Paris sidewalk cafe" vibe, but there's still a nice little outdoor area in front. Didn't venture inside but would image it would be warm and cozy in the winter.
Besides the delicious food (fondue obviously, the stone-cooked meat, and the simple but fresh and tasty dressed salad), the owner Alexandre, also acting as the one and only waiter, was a highlight. Seated us quickly and immediately treated like long-lost family members. Funny, personable, and obviously loves what he does, he treated every other patron just the same.
After a lovely dinner, I asked about trying Calvados (having just traveled from Normandy a few days earlier). Alex very kindly brought nearly a full champagne glass of the local delicacy for me and another couple of tasting glasses for my parents.
My family walked out incredibly satisfied with our experience and I would highly recommend a meal here!

I would recommend a reservation. Could be very full and you have to wait until a table is available.
Service is nice but sometimes a little bit under pressure. The food is great. The Cheese Fondue and BBQ is very good and side dishes are for free.
The price is good. Just keep in mind that when you order cheese fondue or BBQ the price is for each person!

What a fab place! We stumbled across this place when we were walking down the back streets to escape the tourist mayhem. We are so glad we did! We got there as the first table (by pure luck!) and it quickly got busy with people waiting out on street. The lovely man posing in our picture really made the visit memorable. The restaurant is very intimate and authentic. Fondue was great, wine was excellent value for money, service was chaotic and charming, we felt very at home and welcomed by this wonderful man. We will definitely visit again next time we are in Paris!

Alex was an amazing proprietor who invited us in and made our afternoon fun. Cheese fondue was excellent and the bread was delicious. We had the grill stone with a mix of beef and chicken.

A beautiful, cozy place to enjoy fondue! The waiter was extremely friendly. The place seemed packed the night we went & very understaffed, so our service was quite slow - but it seemed like that was a one-off unfortunate circumstance.
Food is good, affordable and more than plenty! Not the most delicious fondue you may find, but it was good enough 😅
Unlike other fondue places in Paris, you only pay for your fondue pot and the breads, veggies & grilled potatoes are on the house! We were served with a salad & basket of breads before even ordering (very rare in Paris).
Our fondue chocolat was also very good! Although I found the choice of fruits to be very disappointing and cheap. 😕
All in all, great marks for friendliness, food, ambiance and affordability. Taking one star off for poor (honestly disgusting) fruit choices for dessert.
