Amazing food in a beautiful vintage high ceiling venue - all the entrees were amazing with a special call out to the prawns, they were so succulent and plump with great flavour. The steaks were also cooked to perfection and so juicy and easy to eat. Perhaps the most underrated dish was the Morton bag pasta noodles, it was cooked to perfection and had a delicious tangy flavour that made it so enjoyable.
Would definitely come back to this institution of Sydney soon!

A very nice dining experience.
The food was very well executed; it is one of the very few places in Sydney that hasn't left me disappointed with a steak I have ordered. We had the skirt, which I highly recommend for its flavour. And at MS9+, it's still lovely and tender. If you are here for a steak, they pull it off well. Cooked over woodfire, it was well seasoned and had a good sear.
It was arguably served rare, despite ordering medium rare, but they do check the steak is cooked to your likeness, and for us the difference was not a big deal.
We also enjoyed the bone marrow with rare beef on toast (my favourite dish of the night), and the yellowfin tuna and Jerusalem artichokes were also nice dishes.
I would say that overall, the menu was perhaps a touch on the unimaginative for my tastes. A more generous description would be 'classic', perhaps.
Also, the menu is massive. I really felt like a set menu on offer would best guide diners through their extensive offerings.
But the food was great, and the service was some of the best I've had in any fine dining restaurant.

Everything from food to service was exquisite. Price was also exquisite! (but of course we knew this coming here) Steak cooked to perfection!! Everything perfect! If you’re craving a nice fancy steak and happy to pay top dollar for it then this is your place. Cocktail was delicious but not so nicely presented. Service was impeccable.

Rockpool provided an award-winning experience that transcended expectations.
Nestled within a 90+ years old architectural gem, its lofty ceilings and regal layout set the stage for an extraordinary dining affair. Yet, it was the impeccable cuisine that truly elevated the atmosphere, leaving no room for critique.
The service was commendable, and each dish exuded delightful flavors. The cocktails, masterfully crafted, added a perfect touch. A visit to Rockpool is not just a yes, but an unequivocal triple affirmation of excellence.

Scallops and sausages were flavourful, and so were the chips/mixed green/pumpkin sides. Fried calamari and steak (David Blackmore’s Blade 240g) were pretty average. Cocktails were delicious, and loved the extensive wine list!

Love their lunch time bbq set menu. High quality meat and quick service that you can visit over an hour lunch break. Wish they gave a little more rice but a great meal.
Highly recommend beef tongue and any of the other thin cut meats as they’re much easier to cook. The wagyu beef rib finger is much thicker and takes longer to cook through.

Extensive selection of quality meat and sushi, featuring high grade wagyu with marbling and very fresh sashimi. The manager is attentive, patient and very understanding. Efficient customer service from the staff; will definitely come back for more !

Had the pleasure of dining at Fix twice in a week, have always found Stu and the team to be the epitome of hospitality. The food and wine were incredibly good and the price point spot on.
Pro tip:- always finish with the madeleines 👌

Great Christmas dinner here with BYO for free!
Reasonable prices but great variety of seafood and meats.
As starters, we got oysters that had good meat inside. The potato croquets tasted amazing, too.
The steak was nicely medium rare with amazing colours.
Finally, finishing with the affogato is a must! Hot espresso and liquor over a gelato ice cream. It couldn't get any better.
Highly recommend this place.

Cute spot for afterwork drinks, was recommended by the team at Milsons Point's wine shop so gave it a try.
Pricing ranges from $7 happy hour (4pm-6pm) to $30 glass. The inside is lively and quite packed at happy hour, the outside is by the main street so its on the noisy side.
I only had nuts, bread, oysters and olive for snacks but they were good so I have high hopes for hot food.
Service is great outside peak hours.

Yesterday was my first visit to this wine bar and I really enjoyed it. Tried several of the white wines by the glass and can't go wrong with the happy hour oysters between 4-6pm. Excellent selection of wines by the glass and the staff were really friendly.
Highly recommend and I will definitely be back for dinner next time.

We tried the Kong Pao chicken because it was recommended, despite its high price of $50 .However, we were let down by the excessive use of chili and pepper, with only a few chicken pieces in the dish. It felt like a waste of ingredients, and it made us wonder if this upscale restaurant values food quality. Naming the dish after its main ingredients could help set better expectations. Overall, it was disappointing, and we hope the restaurant considers our feedback for improvement. Additionally, wasting so much chili isn't just about the food—it also affects farmers and the environment. It's concerning when big restaurants overlook sustainability. Bringing up these issues with them might encourage more responsible practices.

Booked a dinner for two for 6pm so the venue was quiet at the start then started getting busier around 7pm. The service is very good and wait staff are very attentive. The food flavours are bold, punchy and definitely spicy. Mains came out sporadically, rather than all at once. Serving sizes seem to be portioned for the table but between the two of us, we definitely had enough to eat. Particularly enjoyed the desserts and the Vietnamese ice coffee. Would come back and try the other items on the menu!

We have mixed reviews from our dining experience at Spice Temple. Some dishes were of comparable quality and deliciousness to dishes we have had in other Chinese restaurants in Sydney and I guess we were expecting Spice Temple to have a bit more of an edge (this was particularly evident with the stir fried pork belly dish). However, some dishes were amazing e.g. the wagyu brisket and passionfruit marshmallows. We also enjoyed the non-alcoholic cocktails.
A concern we had with the environment (beyond the restaurants control) was taken seriously and the service was really great. We were dining for a special occasion and the wait staff made it feel very celebratory.

Eaten here a few years ago pre-covid and was very impressed with their ala carte menu. However, I attended a christmas party there last week with the banquet menu and the food was nothing spectacular. Overall, we were full at the end and most dishes tasted average. The steak was the best dish , however we were very disappointed in the duck dish which had too much vinegar. Ambience and service was excellent.

Enjoyed this place as they had veggie and vegan options! Service was great. Got the veg Mediterranean on sourdough, which was excellent and my partner got the Tempeh Burger (removed Tabouli) on sourdough and he enjoyed that. Would recommend. It’s a grab and go shop, so have to find a bench elsewhere but would highly recommend!

I haven’t visited this favourite in 8 years due to living interstate and their food is as good as I remembered. Excellent customer service, quality ingredients and a fab menu. I ordered the Tempeh Burger, one of my old favourites and it was delicious. In all honesty though, their whole menu does not disappoint! Thanks to the lovely folk at Hole in the Wall, I will be back.

I had the gluten free chicken and prosciutto sandwich (toasted). It was lovely and I especially loved the Gorgonzola 😻 I did find my gluten free bread to be pretty dry and super crusty. I know it can be hard to find good gf options… also I just felt like a little pepper and tomato would be a great addition to this sandwich.

Seems to be the go to place for workers in the area which is always a good sign. Quite busy for the lunch rush so would recommend ordering ahead on their website. Staff are friendly, prices very reasonable and great gluten free bread as an option with their sandwiches. Menu options have a great variety and interesting tasting flavour combinations, was difficult to decide which one I wanted. Everything is made fresh to order in front of you. Will definitely be going back!

Ordered the chicken prosciutto sandwich which tasted nice. But the low review is for the speed of service - 33mins from order to receive.
I was notified there would be a delay when ordering but its not really good enough service or product to wait that long.

Excellent restaurant. We are from the states and very picky about our steaks. Chophouse did not disappoint! The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. Our steaks were very flavorful, tender and cooked to perfection. The side dishes were very and were a tasteful accompaniment to the steaks. The wine list is also very good and they offer premium wines by the glass.

Absolutely fantastic dining experience!
Although it is a busy restaurant it seemed they took us to a large table where we selected, instead of putting us (2 ppl) to the counter or to a smaller table.
The staffs serving us were all friendly and polite, great service provided. Very satisfied with all food plates served.
I recommend this place, I definitely will go back again.

All in all, a great experience!
Delicious food, friendly service and yummy cocktails!
Entrees of Zucchini flowers and garlic prawns were moreish,
Stuffed zucchini flower. Deliciously crispy on the outside, flavoursome on the inside! Perfectly seasoned and a great texture combination.
King Prawns, garlic butter, soft herb. Simply moreish! Balanced flavours and cooked well!
Mains of steaks all around were tender, juicy and well seasoned.
Sides were Delicious! Onion rings perfectly crispy, creamy mash, Steamed green beans cooked to perfection- not mushy and not too crispy.
The only disappointment would have to be the lack of appealing desserts.
Overall, recommended!

This review is for the group banquet.
Firstly, stick to the steaks when you're here as other items as part of banquet were just OK.
Squid lack crispyness and was very greasy.
We did enjoy beef tartare and buratta.
We did not like alternate drop concepts for desserts , given there was zero flexibility to considering preferences within groups.
Group was also not consulted on steak doneness preference.
Considering 10% service charge for Group 8+, no flexibility to accommodate preferences and found ourselves asking for water refills, overall service was disappointing.

Really lovely dinner there, went midweek and so wasn't packed full but still a nice atmosphere around the place. Menu was nice a simple, not overloaded with options which was nice. Wine list was huge, but nicely laid out too so easy to navigate given we didn't know much about wine.
Food was fantastic and the waiters were brilliant. Our waiter Luca was so hospitable and the service was so fluid and perfect.

Not too much of an atmosphere, compared to other Japanese places. It is located upstairs in the Chifley building, so it’s not super accessible. However, it is definitely a bit more upper class (but in a simple way??)
I don’t have very good images but the food here was decently nice. It does feel like the cut of meat/ seafood was better quality than other Japanese places. However, the service wasn’t as great as expected for the price point. The food here was VERY expensive. Like more than normal high end restaurants (but they have the atmosphere and service).
Maybe I just couldn’t appreciate it, but I think we literally got 2 of each for a salmon nigiri and scallop nigiri, and two salmon avocado hand rolls, then a bowl of rice and a small honey soy chicken dish. We didn’t get any drinks and the bill topped $100.
Food was good but not good enough for the price, and service was “normal”. For the expectation of this being a “nice” place, it lacked the ambience and vibe I would hope for. I’ve rated it 4/5 for the quality of the food, but everything else was probably 3/5.

Best Japanese food in Sydney. A bit of an odd place as it’s in the Chifley building but the sushi is just incredible. Highly recommend and worth the price. Fresh seafood, masterfully cut. Great oysters too.

Very good restaurant in a beautiful building. The food was very good, though the portions were a bit on the small side. But the prices were reasonable, so can just order more. I highly recommend the pork belly! And of course the seafood and veggie tempura, karaage chicken, agedashi tofu, and their desert! Their matcha filled cake was delicious!
Service was good too. Very friendly and helpful staff. I will definitely come back.

This was my first visit to Mejico. I visited with family on a Monday evening.
The place was full. The music was too loud for my liking, but that could be just my age / generation.
The service was prompt and courteous.
We had several dishes - I would say it was a mixed bag.
The banana chips and guacamole were good.
The 3 salsas (tres salsa) was below par for me.
The corn chips were too hard for me.
The charred corn cob was good.
Jalapeno poppers: some were nice some too hot (not restaurant’s fault though).
The watermelon side dish was the best item of the evening! So nice and refreshing.

Great Food and Cocktails.
Had the Pre-theatre set menu which was really nice.
Recommend the Jalapeno Margaritas as well.
Only reason for 4 stars is the setting doesn't feel very Mexican.

RATING: 3.5
A very bustling Mexican restaurant located near Wynyard Station. Despite having a reservation, the place seemed open to walk-ins. Opted for the $75 set menu, but the overall experience was mixed. While most dishes were okay, none really left us in awe ; however, the empanadas were a highlight with a warm, flaky crust and melt-in-your-mouth pork. An overall decent experience, would recommend if you're coming for drinks rather than food.

Wanted to go to Mejico for ages and finally went for lunch today with some girlfriends, we had one of the set menus and the food was delicious, the corn ribs are amazing and the guacamole is made in front of you, it was so good! Great margaritas and our waitress was friendly and very accommodating. Unfortunately our wagyu skirt tacos were tough and fatty, but overall we had a fabulous lunch and would highly recommend, thank you!

Fun atmosphere and tasty food. I loved the table-smashed guacamole with plantain chips, Pork and Oaxaca Empanadas (I would have loved for the exterior to be more crispy but the sauce was incredible), Agave & Arbol Chicken Taco (the best tacos we had at Mejico), and Churros (extra hot and fresh, with a crispy outside and a soft and eggy inside).
The tacos are incredibly filling, which is excellent as they don't cheap out on portions. My only critique is that it's hard to taste the lobster taco with the excessively deep-fried breadcrumb exterior. I wish there were milk chocolate options to accompany the churros.
