I must say the main dishes were truly terrible. My steak was so dry and bland, the beef meat was not firm. It was very loose and tasted not fresh. I can’t believe this quality would cost me $65. And the French fries was average, I can’t see anything special compared to McDonald’s. My partner’s rabbit pasta was also awful. It just tasted strange, and the pasta was very hard. I feel like the chef doesn’t know much about how to control heat and fire when cooking. Speaking of entrees, the snails was also quite average. The duck paste was great for my first bite, the orange puree was great tho, love the layered flavours. Probably the best dish on today’s table is the green salad, very fresh, crispy and juicy. The customer service was also average. This place has minimum cost which is $70 per person, so I would expect for a very nice and delicious meal for our anniversary. Unfortunately, the result as you can see, just not as what we expected. It’s so sad and disappointing for me to choose this place to celebrate our anniversary. Shame :(

A fantastic French restaurant! Romantic and rustic vibe that makes it a perfect restaurant for your date night. The menu had everything you would expect to find on a French menu, including an excellent selection of wine. I had the beef tartare, which was delicious and fresh! The staff were wonderful too! I really appreciate that one of the waitresses let me practice my French with her and responded back in French! 100% recommend and will be back! Complimenti! 👏

Always great to visit this hidden gem in Sydney's CBD, it is my favourite place for lunch. If you want a great meal, great service and a little bit of Paris do you self a favour and visit! I normally drop in for a business lunch but yesterday treated my son to a meal there during school holidays! He loved the whole experience. Big thanks to our amazing waitress who looked after us so well!!

Great experience in the whole dinning time. First time dine in, researched from google map. Thoughtful host, amazing atmosphere, and tasty food. Definitely recommend to those wanna have a french cuisine with a warm atmosphere. Luckily we arrived before 9pm on tuesday night, the last order time shall be around 915pm.

Not all Bavarian restaurants make good food. This one makes it properly and very well! Safe to book and walk right in if there’s a table I thought all Bavarian restaurants make same quality food. But the York st restaurant proved to me that this is not the case. Meat wasn’t dry and it was cooked to perfection. It’s surprising how much difference a chef can make. Everything on the plate was delicious. The vibe was unique as always and service was fast and welcoming. For these reasons, I give this place 3 bears

Excellent German bar! Amazing, amazing, amazing wheat beer! 🍺 Delicious pork knuckle. Live music on certain nights. Just an overall awesome vibe! Great place to bring the mates.

I was looking for an easy meal in the city on a Sunday night. I wandered into The Bavarian and settled on the beef burger with fries and a beer. Service was good and burger actually exceeded my expectations. You order using a QR code at the table which, whilst efficient, detracts a little from the atmosphere of this venue. Still nice atmosphere, good food and plenty of beer choices.

First time in Sydney to visit a family in Australia a great place to spend time with a family. . Food was great . We ordered steak with fries , and salad . . All staff were friendly , nice and accommodating especially Marcella … she’s great she gave us an outstanding and excellent service . She really make a good connection to us as a guest that first time in Sydney. 👍😊

So so so amazing!! Excellent service and I loved the place and vibes - great at night with friends. Firstly, the wagyu tajima was ABSOLUTELY incredible. A highlight of the night. I will be back just for that 😍 Another standout was the sashimi omakase, so frickin fresh and just melted in my mouth. The beef takaki and kingfish sashimi were also delicious. Sushi and gyoza were good but nothing tooo special. Overall a great night and will definitely be back :)

The restaurant was super cozy yet elegant, with subtle modern deco around. The food was absolutely incredible, the highlights being the beef tataki and kingfish new style sashimi. I’m usually not a fan of eggplant, but the miso eggplant surprisingly had be reaching for more and was packed with flavour. Service was amazing, staff was lovely! The location is also conveniently situated, right next to Wynyard station.

Toko was a disappointment compared to how good it was back then at Surry hills. I brought my friend from Singapore for a visit because I believed Toko can represent the food scene in Sydney. Food was really not great, salty, lacking flavour. It tasted like when I put too much soy sauce on my failed cooking or simply boiled food and put some sauce on top. Definitely not worth the price. Despite scampi nigiri being as great as usual. Ambiance is very businessy so I wouldn’t recommend tourists. Service wasn’t friendly - I asked for recommendations and the waitress basically said it really depends on the person. No smiles on them at all which makes the vibe even more business like. My friend said she feels like she’s at work and losing appetite. Worst part is there was some plastic in the food and scratched my husband’s mouth. They did apologise and provided free foods and took the cost out. However the whole experience really wasn’t great like nothing worked. In the bathroom, the spare toilet paper are basically on the roof so when it ran out we couldn’t get it .. all the best to Toko I hope it can become my favourite Japanese restaurant again.

Cosy bar, great cocktails, friendly staff. Came for the happy hour drinks and tried every one, all of them good size and delicious. Bartender was very welcoming and personable. Could do with a better outdoor seating area like next door as standing around barrels isn’t ideal. Would happily come again and relax on the balcony with a cocktail.

We stopped in for a drink during happy hour and managed to snag the window table. The gentleman serving us was really friendly and helpful. We tried a grapefruit margarita and a lychee martini. Both drinks were well made, sweet without being overly so. A lovely place to stop for a drink. They have an outdoor patio too!

If you are a fan of whisky, stay clear of this place. While the selection may look great on the photos, reality is much worse… You will be paying very premium price for whiskies that already aired out so much in the bottles that they barely have the taste they should… The atmosphere is great, but that’s about it. Also the servers were extremely slow even though the place was half empty. Would not recommend

Thanks to First Table we were checking out this restaurant for an evening meal. The result was ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!! We had the fried chicken, pork belly, burrata, chicken pate, pulled apart bread, and grilled brocolini, which were all so delicious, especially the pork belly and the brocolini. The pate was also a highlight starter. The pulled apart bread was even hot like it just came out of the oven! We were extremely satisfied with the quality of our meal. Can't end without a note to the drinks obviously since it's a bar, but even the mocktails were very well made! Kudos to that! Compliments to the chef, the bar tender, and the friendly front house team for such a beautiful experience of the evening! We will see you again soon!

Delicious drinks, impressed to see cauliflower popcorn was packed with cauliflower florets and no filler, impressed to see Taiwanese-style fried chicken on the menu and that the chicken had been marinated! 👍👍👍 Only critique were fries were a bit empty inside. What a wonderful and delightful dinner! It was a couple of weeks ago but I had to review it properly since the experience was remarkable. I suggest the tasting (5-6 course) menu because you get to have a little bit of everything and it's so rich in flavour, my mouth was having a party! Besides the staff is so kind, we felt very welcomed. Everything was just amazing.

A very special treat for my friend and I visiting Sydney. We had a wonderful lunch there. The service was second to none. Extremely attentive and very friendly staff. The food was exceptional, including the gorgeous cocktails. The views are amazing as you rotate. A very enjoyable experience. Highly recommend this treat.

My family had a wonderful experience dining at this rotating restaurant. The food was great across the board and the view of the Sydney CBD/harbour was amazing. Service was excellent from the moment we were greeted at reception, to the attentive yet non-intrusive service at the table. The complimentary birthday dessert was also a nice gesture.

Our party of 6 were here for a birthday lunch. The view was fantastic though moving backwards when the restaurant started rotating made me feel a little light headed. The food was fresh and delicious. The serves were a good size and satisfying. The waiter was attentive, polite and an expert in taking group photos! They had a special treat for the birthday girl which we thought was a really nice gesture. Highly recommended for celebrating special occasions.

Start to finish a class restaurant! The sunset views on the revolving floor are superb. We ordered from the a la carte menu and both my partner and I enjoyed all our 3 courses.The service was perfect, cocktails and wine selections were on point. We would definitely come back to dine again. You won’t be disappointed.

A contemporary and stylish bay offering upscale cuisine. I savored the barramundi fish and tuna pasta, although I've had better garlic bread elsewhere. The tables were a bit small for a party of seven with plates and drinks.

Very mixed evening here. The service was very patchy and our drinks took quite a long time to arrive after eventually placing our order. We then had to repeatedly try to get someone's attention to order more drinks once they were finished, despite the restaurant not being that big in size. Food was good but one of our dishes never arrived so we had to reorder and wait for it to be cooked. Very oddly we weren't able to order any coffee after our meal as they had closed down the machine despite being open for another 2+ hours.

This place is absolutely amazing! The food is so delicious with great gluten free garlic bread and amazing casein free and gluten free almond slice with cherry sorbet! Chicken and beef was good too. We had amazing cocktails too. The atmosphere is great in the ivy lane. Will definitely be back here again!

We almost did not get to eat here due to the difficulty in get a table. Plan ahead, get a reservation as soon as possible because you don't want to miss this experience. Highly touted, but a location and restaurant that lives up to the hype. The building is amazing and unique. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the food is simply, excellent. Everything we ate was delicious. My only regret was not being able to try more of the offerings. The crab with house made XO sauce, was the best crab I have ever had, just excellent. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

We visited on a Friday for lunch and the venue was FULL when we arrived for first seating. One of the guests we dined with had visited before so it made it easier to order. They can tailor the amount of dumplings to the amount of guests which is brilliant and all restaurants should offer this. I enjoyed every dish we tried but would recommend the lobster dumplings and the Balmain bugs as well as the deep fried ice cream for dessert. I enjoyed the moody ambiance of the restaurant too. Bookings are essential!

Love the lobster dumpling. Ordered the $130 set menu. The “strange flavour” dumpling was also amazing. Rest of the dishes in the set menu was good. The vegetable dish was fresh, the beef dish was good although some beef steak cube was medium rare and some were medium well. The fish dish was great. The dessert was average. I thought this was another expensive dumpling place, I was so wrong, no wonder this restaurant is so popular in Sydney. Can’t wait to go back for the lobster dumpling!

I had the pleasure of dining here with a group for work after hearing raving reviews. We got our own side room. The food is AMAZING! Every dish was perfect is flavour and serving size and variety. Casual dining atmosphere with interesting Asian decor. The service was fantastic with helping us decide what we'd enjoy. Serving was fast for a busy restaurant. I'd expect prices to be on the higher end but that'd probably worth it (I didn't have to pay) Highly recommended!!

What a great night we had at Stitch bar! The atmosphere and decor is amazing! We ordered few items from the menu and food was nice but bit oily to my liking. However, the cocktails were so delicious. Would definitely come back.

Incredibly bland food, not sure the kitchen has heard of salt or pepper. It's not great when the mayo in a BLT burger is the most flavorful component... Service was fast but dismissive, never checking if I needed anything (eg salt and pepper, or ketchup).

I attended Stitch Bar for an event called The Kana Club with food curated by celebrity My Kitchen Rules chef Arrnott Olssen. The Fijian food was absolutely delicious. The Stitch staff who served the food and made drinks at the bar were so friendly, down to earth and approachable. I got a reminder email before the event from Stitch Bar was nice. I really liked the decor when you walk into the bar and once you walk down the stairs it’s a nice old school whiskey bar with a vintage vibe and dim lighting. I drove in and parked at Wilson Parking at 71 York St (expensive but convenient). We went on a Tuesday night, all round nice experience.

We came here for dinner on a Saturday. We had to wait 20 mins for a table although we had a booking which was a bit disappointing. But the service throughout the rest of the night compensated for that. Atmosphere is great too, especially with the Pool Club being adjacent. We shared a few dishes which were all great, with the ones worthy of a special mention being the carpaccio which was overall amazing, and the gnocchi which was very fluffy, soft, and had a great sauce. Price wasn’t too bad at $430 for 4 people including a few cocktails and a bottle of wine. A great option for a nice night out!

Ordered the Buffalo Mozzarella, it was very small servings and the texture was quite rubbery, wasn't expecting this for the price we paid. The pasta was okay, not that filling. The best dish of the night was the dessert - tiramisu. Overall not value for money. I guess you're paying for the Merivale brand. Not sure if I would come back to eat here again.
