What's not to like about the electric ballroom? This historical venue continues to be one of the best around. Just up the road from Camden Town tube, its super convenient. It has a great sound inside, a real cool look, plenty of bars ran, in my experience, by cool people. Not a rip off on the prices, either. Staff are friendly and I hope to see more of my favourite bands choose this as a venue.

Great music venue came to see anees a singer sing writer from the USA . Great atmosphere good lighting and sound plenty of bars and bar staff on . Only issue being that the merchandise stand is to close to the entrance -exit it was mayhem trying to leave as the queue was spread across the exit and people were refusing to move to let everyone exit which resulted in people pushing through the line and arguing erupted but only minor just needs a little better management for the merch queue . Over all great night

Here for a gig, it’s not a restaurant! Good choice of drinks at the bars, plenty of staff serving, so no long queues. Decent venue layout, good view of the stage from pretty much the whole space.

Came here to see Atreyu, first time at this venue. The queue went quickly at the front door and everyone was in order.
It took a while to get to the merch but eventually we got there. It said doors open at 7pm but Atreyu didn’t start till 9pm.
The venue is big inside and the drinks are reasonably priced. Amazing stage and sound effects.
Will definitely check out other gigs here.

Amazing place. I came for their Wednesday night live music and £6 cocktails. The drinks were amazing quality and all staff was friendly. The espresso martini was one of the best I’ve ever had, Daisy makes a great drink. Another bartender made me a fantastic lychee martini on her second shift working there. Highly recommend for an evening out. Be aware that without a reservation it is standing room only.

This place is excellent.
Thank you to the front of house who squeezed us in. She said we had to eat and be gone within an hour which with fast service was really easy.
Very tasty food, and decent value, even at London prices.
We had the Buttermilk Chicken and Salad, and the Smash Bacon Cheeseburger with fries. Both were 10/10.

The best buffalo wings I’ve had! The service was fantastic. Every member of staff was informative, outgoing and engaging. Baby friendly and provides high chairs.
Shame there was no live music but it was Friday lunchtime. Great selection of draught beers.
Definitely be back.
Make sure if you’re in Camden you check this place out.

I had a fantastic dinner at The Blues Kitchen, and the ambience was terrific.
We ordered BBQ jerk chicken and blackened salmon for our main course, along with some fries, and a side of delicious cajun popcorn squid.
The Oreo doughnuts for dessert were simply amazing and very addictive!

One of the smallest but friendliest BrewDog bars I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. The team at Camden did really well in looking out for me and my group despite us making some mistakes about the menu options. This didn’t put a damper on the evening at all, the burgers were exceptional and really well priced.

Fine English pub with a wide variety of beers from mainly UK breweries. Great service and nice atmosphere. You can have both draft beer and canned/bottled beer to buy. Well-seasoned chicken wings , just enough spicy and crispy.

Very tasty scran. The bar staff are friendly, albeit busy.
Prosecco was on offer for £5.95 per glass during Happy Hour. As nice it was - rather a lot for a small tipple. But hey, January Pay Day must be celebrated!

BrewDog Camden.
Dog Friendly !!!,,
Great atmosphere, Fantastic selection on tap.
For my Birthday, I was taken to somewhere I would not recognise. My youth was Camden, as we got closer I was pointing out old clubs, then it came into view Camden Palace I burst out laughing. Every Friday and Saturday night this was our haunt.
I genuinely almost walked past. BrewDog in massive letters.
My wife and myself entered first. We ordered my favourite drink, the Punk IPA. Heaven. As we waited the place was filling up very quickly. The others arrived.
We ate a selection of Burgers, all were delicious. A flight of beers arrived, a selection of four small glasses of beers.
A great idea, especially if you are unsure of your choice. A fantastic start to a Birthday.

Booked the table upstairs for the 2024 NYE (£100 incl. food deposit) but actually, we had zero live jazz. Zero 👍
The first act was a young brazilian-themed group of singers that were okay, and the second act was an up and coming alternative r&b singer who nearly missed the countdown because he was so absorbed into his songs. The choice of songs were also quite moody. Don't get me wrong; the music would make me feel real hipster in my headphones but it was not at all fitting for a public NYE event, especially at a venue supposedly renowned for jazz. Maybe they had better artists that cancelled last minute and needed a replacement but damn I really expected better. What is the purpose of the performance if you don't know your crowd and the purpose of the gathering?
We got champagne flutes to cheers but didn't even finish and left quarter past midnight (I usually overindulge in drinking and partying in any setting so this is rare). The other groups sitting near us actually left immediately after the countdown. They all looked hilariously bored—the only entertainment of the night. Not surprisingly, the crowd downstairs was also pretty dead.
Safe to say that it was the most underwhelming new years experience I've ever had in London, and I highly recommend anyone coming to celebrate their big day to look elsewhere. Would have given one star but the staffs serving the food/drinks were kind and attentive including those behind the bar.

I love the Jazz Cafe, been here countless times and they always book hip hop acts that I want to see. Great intimate venue. Sound was not great for four owls though, mic levels were off and took a while to sort and generally the tracks didn't come through the system that well. Still a great gig and good to see the best of UK hip hop.
F P - a month ago
Iconic venue and such great live music you are guaranteed to see some of the great artists drop by.
The capacity is small so you are no more than 5m from the stage which means the shows feel intimate.
The restaurant upstairs is amazing, styled in an art deco style, great food (small menu but vegan and vegetarian friendly), cocktails, service and overlooks the stage. Perfect when you want a night out but not necessarily in the dance floor.
Christian Blunden - 4 months ago
Iconic venue to visit at least once! The line ups, very varied, can be enjoyed even if you're not a jazz connoisseur, despite the name of the place. Conveniently located less than 1 minute from Camden Town Station.
The venue is divided in 2 spaces: downstairs is more like a bar/concert venue where you stand around the scene, while upstairs is more a quaint Jazz club experience with art deco decor and dining service.
It's definitely 2 different ways to enjoy the experience/connect with the act.
Saw Joyce (jazz, bossa nova) recently, and it was amazing. She entered the stage around 9.00pm. It allowed plenty of time to enjoy the venue and diner, which was nice, especially since the food is really tasty! You want to take your time. The selection is limited but original and very well thought.
They have an extensive drink menu and the non-alcooholic cocktails are very nice.
The staff is absolutely lovely, kudos to all of them 😊

We chanced upon this when we were looking for a place to eat. And we are really glad we did. The food is good. And the restaurant feels airy and inviting. I particularly like the natural daylight coming through the glass roof. The mushrooms and the prawns are highly recommended.

I thoroughly enjoyed the delectable dishes at the restaurant.
The culinary experience was exceptional as we indulged in a variety of items
1. gamas
2. Chorizo
3. Paella with seafood,
4. paella with ink,
5. calamari.
Each dish left a lasting impression with its incredible flavors, making the overall dining experience immensely satisfying.
The service and ambiance added to the positive experience; everything was simply outstanding, leaving no room for complaints. The staff provided excellent service, contributing to the overall pleasant vibe of the place.
Tip: Reserve to dine at Soho for a delightful experience.

An absolute gem. The food is simply incredible, the drinks are bangers (the sidecar on thy tequila shot is heavenly) and the staff leaves nothing to be desired in terms of efficiency, kindness, and knowledge. We went twice and my only regret was not squeezing a third visit in. Go! Make a booking - you'll need one - and enjoy!!

Amazing roast and amazing service with a brilliant soundtrack. Travelled from South East London and 1000% worth it. The Yorkshire pudding was perfect and something you don't get elsewhere. The chicken "skin" was something unique and tasty and they brought us a huge pot of gravy. We took our dog and they were great with her. It's not fast food so don't expect that but with this level of service and great selection of drinks the small wait is all part of the experience, better than somewhere trying to get you and get you out. The kitchen is small and you can tell they're working damn hard. I travel and eat out a lot for work and this place has better food, service and atmosphere than places charging twice as much. Don't forget to tip if you love it too! 🙂

Very interesting place ! The waiter explained most of the dishes , the vegan roast was good, but I wouldn’t relate it to meat dishes but purely its own vegan dish , since it hardly resembles meat. Anyways still tasty and nicely presented

I have been in Camden three times now, but somehow never went to the Black Heart. I met up with a friend during the afternoon for a few beer, and was emmedialy greeted with a great vibe. This is a place for metslheads who want to hang out and have a good time. Upstairs is the small and intimate venue which I really enjoyed. Seven bands in one night, great beer, great friends and an all round great experience. I can highly recommend this place if you're in London!

I visited the Black Heart with a friend on Sunday for the vegan roast. Reservation definitely recommended as it got pretty busy. Great selection of beers and friendly staff. Unfortunately it was a pretty cold day and the whole place was freezing cold. Additionally we had to wait for quite some time (I think about 1h?) for the food to arrive. We had the pork and beef roast + the cheesy cauliflower. The roasts were great, the pork tastes very tofu-y though. The beef was fabulous. The cauliflower tasted a lot like nutritional yeast - a bit too much to my liking. Anyway, the gravy, crisp potatos, veggies and Yorkshire pudding were delicious and I'd come back (in summer).

Went to this place on a weekday evening, it was very quiet with only one other table occupied. Yet, the service was a little slow as we had to wait for someone to take our order.
Food was lovely, especially the appetizers 10/10! Dipping sauces are excellent. Truffle fries are very delicious, rosemary fries are okay.
Had truffle burger and while it was nice i thought the taste of beef was a little overwhelming.
The place is pretty and the vibe is nice but there was a bit of an off-putting smell..

Came in this evening for a last minute meal and turned out to be a brilliant decision, the food was a 10/10 one of the best burgers i’ve had and my partner had the steak and being such a steak lover he admitted it was one of the best he’s ever had. The service was brilliant, we had the pleasure of a lovely waiter named Daniel, so polite and very professional, we will definitely be returning! Was a pleasurable experience

I visited this venue for lunch in early April 2024.
The venue is clean, nicely decorated and well ventilated.
I was warmly welcomed and excellently served throughout by Samantha.
I had one of many fine burgers choices, with sweet potato fries on the side.
The food was deliciously well seasoned and nicely presented. The drinks were equally good.
The service was exceptional.
This is a very good restaurant, within a short walking distance of the hub of local amenities and attractions, plus transport links.
I strongly recommend a visit to this venue.

I had a truly delightful experience at this restaurant. Not only were the staff incredibly friendly and engaging, but the drinks were exceptional, especially their homemade lemonade which was absolutely sumptuous. I tried their chicken, bacon, and avocado burger, and it was nothing short of amazing. The buns were luscious and every element of the burger blended perfectly together. The overall ambiance of the restaurant just elevated the entire dining experience. Would highly recommend!

Helpful and friendly pub. My family went there because my nephew who passed away used to drink there so we wanted to celebrate his life there following the funeral service. The staff were great and we were grateful to have the space to celebrate my nephews life.
They don't make food on the premises so the pub gave us a QR code for Honest Burger to scan and order which worked out well. Considering the amount of food we ordered, it was delivered quickly, fresh and delicious.
Thank you very much! Will be back!

The food was a real disappointment in this place, it looked and tasted bland and the presentation did not help. Honestly there was no care when serving these dishes, I was so dissatisfied with the chicken strips I then ordered a chicken burger and that was like eating cardboard. The atmosphere was good based I think on location. The location is unmatched because it’s right opposite Camden market.
I’ve walked past this place for years but never felt the urge to go in. In this occasion a friend of mine was hungry and wanted to eat here. As you can see the food looked unappealing and childish. I think is more about the look as opposed to the quality. I was not impressed at all. But this was my experience on this day it could have been an off day but my experience is my experience. I will not be going back based on this review.

Was feeling hungry so me and my friend decided to go here! Atmosphere was alright, very crowded and noisy.. fortunate enough to get a table though - the staff was alright as well.
We ordered two sets of burgers that included chips and soft drinks and surprisingly very tasty compared to other Wetherspoons that I've been to:) Food came pretty quickly and we didn't have to wait for a long time😊
It was a decent meal👍🏼

Great pub. Really friendly staff. There is a lot of seating indoors as well as outdoors. There is a wheelchair accessible entrance as well as a handicapped restroom. The ladies room has 2 steps when you go through the inner door. It's spacious and clean. The pub is right on the canal so the view is nice to look at, especially if there is activity on the canal. The food is delicious. Great selection of drinks to choose from. Due to the location, expect it to be busy.

Very good food at the Camden branch of Wagamama. I had the vegetable gyoza and then vegatsu which I hadn't tried before. Both excellent. My partner had Korean beef bao buns and yaki Udon. We visited at 10pm and got a table without any problem. Other places in the area were closing so it was lucky. The music was a little bit too loud inside which was annoying as we wanted to chat over dinner.
