I loved the vibe and ambiance of the place, unfortunately, I didn't quite enjoy the food. The restaurant had a charming atmosphere and the service was prompt and friendly. However, the breakfast options didn't quite meet my expectations in terms of flavor and quality. Despite this, I appreciate the effort put into creating a welcoming environment.

My experience here was good. Standard breakfast food.
Good service, good food and a good atmosphere.
The senator is priced at a higher tier than other neighboring breakfast places. Doesn't offer much for the price.
The menu is really confusing as it doesn't allow you to get separate items. Maybe if you ask ?
Good place to try... Maybe just for tourists and not locals.
Cute booths :)

#TheSenator Review from March 2023…#SundayBrunch at #Torontos oldest, continuously run restaurant, in the same place. Luckily they’ve survived the pandemic, unfortunately they still haven’t returned to full menus and full daily meals. However Brunch today was fabulous. $5 #mimosas made with fresh juice and Prosecco was a wonderful beginning to our meal. #coffee #tea and #warmAppleCider accompanied our dishes. My husband ordered the #buttermilkPancakes with fresh #AppleCompote and #mapleSyrup he really enjoyed them. He also enjoyed a lovely side of #Bacon. I went with their brunch special. While not a full English breakfast, which I had hoped to order, It did have #bakedBeans #eggsOverEasy wonderfully cooked #homeFries #ChallahToast and to make it Canadian I had luscious #peaMealBacon I was fortunate to eat it with some #HPSauce which made it English. The server said they discontinued the Full English Breakfast due to people not eating the Blood Pudding, Heathens!! Overall a wonderful yummy brunch, in a cool place, with an old jazz vibe. My husband talked about eating at The Senator back in his University days or eating lunch while working down the street. I love hearing and seeing Toronto history, I’m glad I had the opportunity to eat here, I’d visit again #eatLocal #LocallySourced #TorontoHistory #TheSenatorRestaurant

My husband and I stopped in after a day-long bus tour of Toranto. We were needing a warm drink before getting on the road for the 2 hour return to Niagara Falls, Ontario. They were very busy with reservations but happily welcomed us at the bar for delicious coffee. The server even gave us a refill to go. The bar tender and the manager both took time to answer a couple of questions about the restaurant. Loved the vintage vibe! Would definitely reserve a table if we're back in Toronto!

I really enjoyed this spot for brunch and coffee. The Senator Restaurant offers good variety of breakfast and brunch options. The egg benedict that I ordered along with the homefries side were amazing. Service was also spot on and the waitress was very attentive and the food came our pretty quick. The ambiance and atmosphere were also great.

So I recently had lunch with my old friend and she took me to this beautiful place called Terroni and it feels like I’m having lunch in Quebec, this place was so old and had beautiful vintage vibes. I had gluten-free pasta with tomato and zucchini and it was okay whereas my friend had a salad. I did like the pasta as much as I was expecting it to be and it charged fairly enough for two dishes. I wish I had a pizza instead of pasta that may have tasted better.

Everything we tried was delicious! Great chew to the pasta, perfectly al dente. Calamari had thin breading and was seasoned well.
Ambiance and decor was also great. However, our seats were oddly tight. Our table was at the basement level, between a wall and another table that was too close to us. Two of the four seats (the two seats that was beside a neighbouring table) ended up being sandwiched between.
Service was ok. We went on a weeknight for dinner. Throughout the meal, it felt as if we were getting rushed to finish, despite the fact there were several tables sitting empty nearby. Otherwise food was served promptly.

Went to Terroni for lunch with my wifey and baby. We had a wonderful time.
The food was amazing 🤩
We had appetizers , main course and dessert! I have to say their Gelato is definitely the best in town. Hazelnut and pistachio flavor 😋.
I would recommend everyone give that a try. Definitely going back !

Took my mom out for a Valentine’s Day lunch & we loved our experience at Terroni. The aesthetic of the place is timeless and old fashioned with a modern restaurant twist. The pizza was absolutely incredible and tasty. Our server Mathew also made great recommendations. Will be back for sure for the yummy food and amazing hospitality

The first restaurant my wife and I visited when we arrived in Toronto for vacation. The interior design and the décor was absolutely beautiful. The music that was played had a 70's vibe and was fantastic. Our server, Johnathon provided exemplary service. Probably one of the best servers we ever had. But the food...
The food was absolutely sub par and not worth the ridiculous amount of money that was charged. The Cheese Toast appetizer was actually the best part of our meal. My wife had the Steak Neptune. She said the steak was incredible, but the crab meat on top was cheap and had no flavor whatsoever. Our server even had the chef remake the crab meat and it was the same. I had the Porterhouse. It was low quality, on par with a steak I could get at Outback or Longhorn. The Whipped Potatoes were good, but the Creamed Spinach was also flavorless. Well below the quality of a high end, expensive steakhouse.

I recently visited Hy for a dinner with friends, and while it wasn't the most memorable dining experience, it was decent overall. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, with dim lighting and comfortable seating.
As for the food, the steaks were cooked to the requested temperature, but they lacked that wow factor. They were tasty enough, but nothing particularly stood out in terms of flavor or presentation. The sides were standard fare - nothing exceptional but served their purpose.
In terms of value for money, I found the prices to be a bit on the higher side compared to similar steakhouses in the area. While I don't mind paying a premium for quality, I expected a bit more from the overall experience.
Overall, Hy is a decent option if you're in the mood for a steak dinner, but don't expect anything extraordinary. It's a good choice for a casual night out, but there are probably better options available if you're looking for a truly exceptional dining experience.

Been here on several occasions, and I love it here. What appeals to me is the live music. Once you step into the restaurant with the live music playing, it already gives you all the feels. The food is always good, I particularly love the table side spinach salad and table Caesar salad as well as the French onion soup ( it was very aromatic and not overly salty ). The cheese bread is a must order in my opinion, and any cut of the steak is good, cooked to your liking. Service is great, staffs are friendly and attentive. The only reason I gave this restaurant 4 stars is because of how loud it can get with the chatter. Each time we went, we sat upstairs and it is still fairly loud conversations overlapping conversations coming from below. You can hear the chatter in one of the videos I posted here.
The ambiance and decor is classic with a touch of modernism. Value is good as well. If you have not dined here before, I suggest that you give it a try.
Stephanie Kam - 4 months ago
First of all love the atmosphere inside. It's decorated really well. Very modern and classy at the same time. Our table was upstairs overlooking main dining area. Which gave us a great view of the live performances going on during that time.
We ordered seared scallops for appetizer. Although it tasted good, I think it was over priced for what we got.
For main we had beef wellington and steak. Steak was cooked to perfection and tasting amazing, beef wellington although it tasted good but puff pastry was rather soggy by the time it arrived on our table. For dessert we had creme brulee which was excellent. Also the service was excellent. Our server was very nice and constantly check up on us throughout the night. We really enjoyed our time here.

This is definitely a must try place! Everything was tasty - from the beef tenderloin carpaccio to the roast rack of lamb. The steak was cooked nicely and the bananas foster for dessert was an experience. The server was very kind and made us feel welcomed. The place is beautiful and there’s a lot to choose from.

3 Brewers is a chain of restaurants/pubs that offer similar services across its locations. The beer is average, but it is fairly priced during happy hour time. The poutine with the special fries is very good and so are the nachos. Never order the Calamari, it is very oily and just not good. A few tables have street view, which I like.

We had the best experience celebrating my boyfriend's 40th birthday! The staff made sure that everything was perfect. They reserved a private area that was incredible. The food and the beer are excellent! But Leo was the best! He provided a fantastic service, extremely friendly and always checking on us!
We had a great time!
Thank you so much Leo and 3 brewers to make that day unforgettable!

Had cauliflower bites, they are excellent. The small pizzas are unique. I had the pork cheek, pizza it's, cheesey, little greasy but a good app or meal for one. Hanna was a great server. Super Patient while I tried to choose what I wanted. She had good suggestions
Prices are fair. Menu is very neat.

I sampled the nachos, poutine, and enjoyed a few drinks at 3 Brewers. While the food and drinks were satisfactory, I found the place a bit outdated. Navigating multiple stairs to reach the washroom was inconvenient. Additionally, some items on the menu seemed overpriced. Despite these drawbacks, the overall experience was decent, and the staff was friendly. A bit of modernization and price adjustments could enhance the overall appeal.

This place is great! I came here after work for my husband's friend's birthday. The environment is pretty chill and the staff are friendly and attentive. We shared a bunch of dishes as well as had several different drinks. I'm not a beer person, but my husband's friends are and they really like their beer. What stood out to me is their flammekueche. It's pretty much like a flatbread pizza but they cook it really nicely so it's crispy and flavourful. We also shared some sliders which were nice as well.
Overall, I'd come here again because the atmosphere is great :)

From the drinks to the dessert, our meal was amazing! The beef TarTar was super flavourful and the burger was one of the best I’ve ever had in the city. It was cooked medium rare which made it even better. The Dessert was recommended by the staff, The Spiced Parsnip Cake. It probably was the best dessert we’ve had all year as we did not know what to expect. The staff and atmosphere were also amazing !!!! Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

This place is so consistently good which I really value. It's always a great experience with well crafted plates and great service. Price point is so good and I support this restaurant's philosophy around tipping. I always recommend this place to others and I try my best to go here with every Toronto visit. Last visit was for a reunion of friends who were all impressed and prior was a tasting menu with a friend at the eating bar with a view of the kitchen. Nicely done!

Hands down my new favourite restaurant. Very intentional and well thought out menu that changes weekly as well as with the season as they use local, seasonal ingredients. Chef Gordon Ramsay would be super proud 💯 love, love, love this place!! Tip is included into the prices you see. Very fair priced for what you get. Absolutely creative but not complicated meals.
One of our orders got mixed up but we didn't even mind. Everything on the menu sounds delicious! I want to try everything! The service is also fantastic.
I can't wait to go back!

I really enjoyed the experience at Richmond Station. They had great food, drinks and service. The rabbit and duck were really good, perfectly seasoned and cooked. I’d highly recommend trying them if you ever visit. They’re also a no-tip establishment - which is ironic as they had much better service than other tipping restaurants in Toronto. The restaurant was a bit dim, but other than that it was a flawless experience. Richmond Station is definitely a restaurant I look forward to visit again in the future.

I went here to celebrate a special occassion and this was the perfect place to do so. I reserved chef's rail seats so I could watch as they prepared each dish meticulously and was not disappointed by the quality that they put out the entire time I was there. Food was superb along with the presentation of each dish. I was also very pleased with the wine pairings that came with the tasting menu.

dropped by with a reso before a show and was super accommodating when we asked to change tables. vibes and atmosphere was cute & upscale at a great location. we found the service to be super attentive and quick with getting the apps & mains out.
unfortunately, all our mains didn’t come out as well as we’d like (considering the price point) with all being a little too al dente. we concluded the pizza was our favourite and would be the only thing we’d try more of.

Nami is a wonderful Japanese restaurant serving well made sushi and sashimi. The ambience and decor is put together really well and has great quality seafood. I've had the best shrimp tempura here and sushi rolls were amazing! Yakuza ice cream was also flavourful. I would come here again for the sushi rolls. Overall the menu is pricey but because of the great quality of food, I would say 4.5/5.

Came here for the winterlicious lunch deal, 3 courses for $55 which isn't too bad once in a while. Great quality fish and it's about as good as it gets before jumping to the next tier (omakase). Service was a bit slow and we had to flag the server down to order, refill our water, and to get the bill.

*Winterlicious Menu*
FOOD: the winterlicious menu has failed me completely, food quality and quantity was really not good.
• Oysters: very small, does not have much freshness taste.
• Some kind of poached fish: 1 SMALL PEACE of bland, mushy fish sitting in a flavorless broth with an overcooked peace of carrot on top.
• Sashimi platter: 5 kinds of fish with 2 small pieces each. It was ok but I'm surprised that there's no salmon.
• Wagyu Steak: 100% not wagyu. It's very very bad, very dry and tough. Portion is Tiny! The color of wasabi is quite off to me I'm not sure what happened to it.
• Miso Cheesecake: zero miso flavor, it's totally texture of a mousse not a cheesecake.
SERVICE: after the food is served my waitress is no where to be seen. Service was ok but it's so hard to get my server or any server over when I sit in the semi private booth/room. They seem to be really short on staff.
VIBE: I feel like they been trying to make it an upscale restaurant but the place looks exactly like a normal izakaya or a local Japanese restaurant.

Our visit for my birthday was truly exceptional, all thanks to the outstanding service provided by our waiter, Takuma. His dedication significantly enhanced our experience. The White Course we opted for showcased dishes crafted with high-quality ingredients and presented immaculately. I highly recommend this place for those seeking an elevated Japanese-style dining experience. If it were possible, I'd give more than 5 stars.

-black cod is also fresh tasting, the meat has a structure to it (doesn't taste extremely soft like cheaper fish), smokey flavour
-sashimi is very fresh
-tempura is average
-desserts are average
-service is friendly and the restaurant is clean
-the traditional Japanese interior design is beautiful

Quick sit down Italian food located inside busy Eaton Centre.
Ordered the Pan Seared Lasagna, Caesar salad and ice cream dessert. All items tasted great. Bolagnese sauce on the crispy edges lasagna was delicious. Caesar salad was fresh. Finished off with not too sweet scoops of sorbet and ice cream. Next time, we will order pizza as it looks great.
Decor of restaurant was modern, good mix of regular and bar seating. Service was friendly, quick and efficient. The only downside was that tables are placed very close together, so you can hear neighbors' conversations.

Really not bad, Definitely take this rating with a grain or 2 of salt cause it's only from one experience and it's really not fair To make final conclusions from a one time experience.
And of course don't forget that individual people will have individual preferences which excuse their ideas of what is good and what is Not.
I had seared tuna with a whole bunch of pickled vegetables I think it was. It was like way too much pickled vegetables. They were too hard and crunchy and I really don't think that the sourness of the veggies with the flavor of the tuna blended well. The tuna was really good but I also really like tuna and I don't really like pickled vegetables so like I said, do you love pickle vegetables and tuna, this might be pickled vegetable and tuna heaven.

Went here for lunch, food was nice and fresh. Smaller portion sizes but there is more flavour in each dish. We ordered seafood pasta, octopus salad, calamari, beet and ricotta pasta. If I could give this place one word, it would be fresh. Beautiful place for lunch.

4.3 / 5.0 - better than the current Google score. Close to a 4.4 actually. I can see the reasons. But think of this as a semi traditional Italian Bistro in the mall. So quick hits:
1) Food is well made above average Italian. Don’t let the mall fool you. The owners have other locations as well. It’s semi-traditional Italian with flare.
2) Pizza was exceptionally- pepperoni were small cups with a nice cheese to sauce balance. We were surprised how tasty. Definitely recommend any pizza (I might consider well done next time - on the fence).
3) Tina albacore salad was nice, but
albacore belongs in a can, not seared. So unless you like Albacore- I’d pass at $30 - but salad was well rounded.
3) Polpette - 3 Meatballs was really tasty - good size and flavour - but not mind blowing. I’d considering ordering again, but not a dealbreaker.
Service was pretty strong on a Holiday. Polite, fun, accommodating. They added to the experience.
The location is in the Eaton Centre Mall - so I can understand the potential challenges. If I’m in the mall I’d go again and not hesitate.
Well done and appreciate our server.

It was my friend's birthday & we decided to have breakfast at Sunset Grill as Waterloo's is one of my favorites. The Richmond Hill's Sunset Grill was nice as well but I ordered regular coffee & it was served after 15 -20 minutes with our food which was a negative point for me. My friend ordered the regular breakfast which was nice, my second friend ordered a chicken wrap which was nice as well. I ordered a Chicken Club Sandwich which was kind of bland. The service wasn't up to the mark even though the restaurant was fully staffed, but it took ages for our order, coffee, and everything. It was an overall okay experience for us.

It's one of those places that you go for an experience when you are in Toronto. One can pretty much order from breakfast items like Pancakes, French toast to full on Sunset breakfast, which includes Eggs, Bacon, Sausages and Poutine. Blueberry Pancakes are big, a bit dry and the Syrup is not Maple! Other items are mediocre and nothing exciting. They are a chain and well-known establishment. Service was good but rushed.
