The restaurant definitely feels like a blast from the past, it kinda smells like commercial so cigarettes and weed which is not my favourite and it's kinda drafty but it adds to the experience and me and my friends are kinda crazy so 5 stars. The food is also decent, they have a big variety and it's pretty good. Overall I think it's a fun experience to come with friends.
I really like their deep fried prawns. And I want to try their brunch here too.
The photos are from 2 separate times we went.

Came to this cafe while waiting for my motorcycle tires to be installed at Modern.
Ordered the bacon tomato benny and it was pretty good. I asked for water and the cup it came in had some weird dirty thing inside the cup so I had to exchange for another one. That was a bit off putting considering the water came before the meal.
Everything in the store was quite outdated. Chairs were ripped with holes. You can't expect too much.
Overall, the food was decent and if there's nothing open at 9:30am, I may come back.

Their pizza I tried was on the drier side and more like breadsticks since they are extremely light on the tomato sauce and you can barely taste the tomato since the layer of sauce is so thin. The toppings were thin too and there is barely any cheese on their pizza when compared to most other pizza chains. A nice touch is some sesame seeds near the crust but otherwise I found the pizza just okay.
Munchica - 8 months ago
It's not an Italian style slice of course but that doesn't detract from it at all. It's a unique pizza with a fluffy, crisp crust with great sauces and toppings that is still somewhat light when compared to Freshslice or similar chain pizza. Great location, especially if you're watching a movie across the street. I will always get a slice or two whenever I'm in town.

Fantastic beer and cider selection.
Okay food. Pizza was a good choice.
Servers were a bit overloaded but in their defense it was a weekend and there were many huge groups.

First and foremost, I was here for Industry Apizza. As a self-proclaimed pizza fanatic, I love trying new pizza places as they imerge upon the scene. The only pizza I've had to date was the Italian Stallion. Great pie, as this pizza uses bread flour for the crust, it has a crispness and less chew than the places that use '00' flour. Great fresh tomato sauce and all the different meats. It was to say the least GREAT!! Certainly worth a try if you like thin crust pizza. As an added bonus, the on tap selection has pretty much something for you in between those delicious bites of pizza.

If you like a crisp thin crust pizza this is your place (I prefer a pizza with a little more chew & thicker crust). Pizza comes out hot, large beer selections, friendly staff, close to the skytrain. Chairs are uncomfortable, and when games are on they have it turned up quite loud (I sound like an old lady I realize that).

This place is a great staple of the Commercial Drive area, serving a large selection of drinks and good food. This location seems to be frequented by people for work events, perhaps because it's conveniently located.
The food items are quite good, with nice variety and some decent deals in the happy hour menu. Outside of happy hour, the value proposition is weaker. The drinks menu has a lot of craft beers and other drinks, so you'll definitely have something to try.
Service was fine, but it can be slow when things are busy. The servers were pleasant and willing to answer questions about the menu.
Overall, it's worth coming here but I think there are more exciting options in the area to try first.

Nice spot to catch up with friends after a movie at the Rio Theatre for VIFF. Good number of tvs to catch the Canucks game. Pretty bright, long tables if you’re going with a large group for an informal kind of gathering which is appreciated! Keeps things simple

Now THIS is what I was hoping for when traveling to Vancouver!!! Came for lunch on a Sunday afternoon, and was shocked that it was practically empty. The interior is beautiful and modern, and the service is friendly and quick. But the food? OH THE FOOD! Truly the best sushi I have ever had! The prices are absurdly fair (13.95 bento box at lunch time that is STACKED?! Yes please!), and the quality is outstanding. Generous portions, and everything was so fresh and flavorful, I'll absolutely go out of my way to come back here again. 5 stars!!

Super delicious and fresh. Such a cute little place with super chill staff. Not gunna lie the soft shelled crab is TO. DIE. FOR. 🤤 just order it and get something that comes with rice. I got a tuna don.

Sushi is good. It’s not top tier by any means but for a neighbour joint - the price is fair and the sushi is tasty.
You won’t be disappointed if you pick Loku when you’re in the area!

Really glad we tried it! Very cute and welcoming place. We had the salmon mango salad 🍋👍, chicken karaage, and Aburi sushi: spicy salmon + pickled mackerel 🌶️👍👍. We loved the salad and the Aburi sushi! The spicy salmon definitely has some heat. I would say the karaage was good, but not a top recommendation. We would certainly go back and try more!

Pretty standard non high end sushi restaurant. No complaints here. Looks like a mama papa joint here. Prices are reasonable. First time getting take out from here only cause I was in the area.
If you’re looking to have a cozy night at home, this place is great for take out. Did the job for me 😀.

We've been ordering from Naruto for about 8 years as we live in the neighbourhood... this is our favourite spot in the area for quick and simple yummy sushi. Always great, nice people working there, consistent, fairly-priced, nothing supremely fancy but really hits the spot for good, basic sushi. :)

If you love cheese, order the baked burrito. It comes loaded with cheese on top and broiled to perfection. I tried their Hibiscus Margarita and it is pretty delicious. *Oh, and margaritas are their Monday specials.

Our overall experience with the burritos at Burrow was pretty good. However, next time, we'll skip the baked option, as the additional charge didn't quite justify it. We also noticed that the tomato sauce had more of an Italian flair than a Mexican one. 🌯🍅🇮🇹🇲🇽
The atmosphere, on the other hand, was delightful, and our waitress was absolutely wonderful. What truly added to our enjoyment was the enchanting mural that adorned the space. It featured a myriad of cute characters engaging in fun activities, making it an engaging focal point during our meal. 🎨🌟

The Burrow was a bit of a letdown, unfortunately. Their quesadillas were pretty bland, lacking in flavor and definitely needed more seasoning. Even the salad was underwhelming. it really could use some zesty dressing and a bit more seasoning to bring it to life. Otherwise the staff is friendly and they have a lovely location.

This was a perfect place for a casual rainy day dinner. The atmosphere was so welcoming and cozy, and the food was hearty and comforting. Our server was so friendly!
The format of the dishes is all Mexican staples (burritos, tacos, etc) but I feel that the flavours were not really Mexican. This is not a bad thing, though, because it's great food, just don't come here for "authentic" Mexican. They're doing their own thing.
My friend and I got chips and salsa to start off. The "small" size chips and salsa is still pretty big and was more than enough for 2. We took almost half the chips home, so I'd say this could comfortably serve 3-4 if you just want the chips as a light appetizer. I like their salsa a lot. It had a fresh vegetal flavour which was a little unusual but good. And we were a little surprised to find that the bowl of orange sauce placed next to the salsa that looked a little like squash puree was actually hot sauce! I really liked the hot sauce too - it is spicy but has enough "volume" of other flavours that you can heap it on to get the best effect.
I had the spicy walnut lentil enchiladas with salsa verde for my entree. I got the vegan version, which just changes out real cheese for vegan Daiya cheese. The "spicy" descriptor is best understood as "well-seasoned" and not "hot", because I didn't think the enchiladas were hot at all, but they did have a really nice deep and earthy flavour. They were quite filling. The salsa verde was delicious. Personally I'm not the biggest fan of Daiya cheese (it's a little goopy to me), but I did think they baked it well and had the right balance with the amount of cheese. I ordered this with the side salad which was beautiful and came with a tasty vinaigrette. The whole dish was very filling and definitely good value.
I got a glass of horchata to drink too, which was creamy and lovely! Loved the foamy cap.
Overall the place leaves me with a very positive impression and I'd be happy to return!

If you are looking for a quick and tasty Mexican food, then Burrow is the best place. I visited this place after work. I had chips and salsa and Enchiladas with lentils along with tap beer. My friend tried the sticky chicken wings. I loved the ambience, with lots of seating place. Service is quick and food is tasty and yummy. I would like to thank our server Gwyn, who advised us to have their best food. Their happy hour are from 4pm-6 pm and 9pm -close. I would highly recommend this place.

Very good food. Great portions however, high salt content takes away from each dish.
Crispy, fresh vegetables, fresh ingredients and seafood. Service feels dutiful yet efficient. No niceties lost here.
Ambiance is lacking. Large room, too bright, no real atmosphere or warmth.
Very clinical.
Some parking at rear.
Quick service but don’t expect conversation.

Good food and fast service!
We love their Spicy szechuan beans, ginger beef and sweet and sour fish.
And we also had shrimp rice and.hot and sour soup, which was better in the past where it had more flavour and was more spicy.
All good sized portions and you get free jasmine tea :)

Tried the Mongolian beef, ginger beef, orange peel chicken, and chow mein. Generous portions, came out super hot and fresh! There were 3 of us and a good amount of leftovers with four dishes. Rest level of spice, they’re not joking when they have the little chilies next to the dishes in the menu!
Holly Jones - in the last week
Their ginger beef is packed with fragrant spiced sweet and mildly spicy flavour. Delicious. Standard stir fried veggies. The rice was on the harder, drier side and not fluffy and I prefer my rice with more water content when steamed. Other than that, it was a pretty wonderful Chinese food meal.

Only way the space would lack is if I was actually living there. I walked passed the food truck and was excited to try Turkish food. I've never had it before. I've had different middle eastern cuisine though.
I asked what I should order and was told the kofte is the most popular. So I ordered it and the messy burger.
In my opinion it took too long as I waited 30minutes for my order and I found the food very bland and not flavorful. The kofte had no real taste and the messy burger was just ketchup and ground beef.

Turkish street food is in town for the first time! Finally👍 They are conveniently located on East Broadway at Commercial drive, yellow food truck. As a native street foodie I am happy to say you won’t be disappointed. Delicious just like the ones you’d get at Istanbul streets and probably higher quality. Great customer service! Try the messy/wet burger, Yengen, Cig kofte (vegan) and you might be even treated by some Turkish candy bars ( well it was my birthday 🥳). Definitely will be back!
