Went to the Pilot to catch up with a few friends and ate on the rooftop patio, which had a really solid vibe. Unfortunately some construction is being done on the building next door so not much of a view but the patio has a nice breeze and open sky, and some TVs around as well so you can watch sports.
Food was okay. Decided to try the special jambalaya for $22 which had chicken and shrimp. It was a bit bland but the portion was pretty decent.
Service was okay. Not bad by any stretch and the staff here are pretty friendly, but would just suggest as a teaching point that when tables are running low on water that you proactively refill it. Especially when minimum suggested tip is 18% 😬.
Decent spot though if you're looking for a rooftop patio where you can get some sun or watch some sports!

Easily the best rooftop patio tavern in Yorkville comprising the main floor, stealth lounge, and flight deck!!! They got live music, amazing food, and all types of shows. Personally, I love the cajun chicken sandwich and yet to try the rest.
A perfect venue for friends gatherings, birthday parties, and live hockey games!

Super sweet patio spot! The food and drinks were great. Our server Celeste was super fast and nice!! Loved this spot!

We sat at the rooftop patio, which was nice. The reviews praise the mac and cheese but i was hungry so i got the lamb souvlaki. It tasted good but a bit inconsistent in texture. Some bites were dry, some were okay. Serviceable.
Our food took a while to arrive but service was fine otherwise.

Food for a catered event was better than most. Bar service took some time to flag down to order a drink.
Rooftop patio is quite nice.

Good place for Japanese cuisine
Have. Wide choice available the only thing being it is difficult for vegetarians as there is only one veg dish available in the large menu for vegetarians
The salmon sushi as well as the main dish was good. Chicken lunch was nice as well.
The veg selection Yaki Udon though specifically made keeping in mind the veg requirements was not very tasty could have been better

If you’re in Yorkville and want a slightly old-school Japanese teppanyaki experience, I highly recommend this place. The food isn’t especially remarkable, but given today’s prices, it’s very fair for the service, and watching the teppanyaki show is fun.
The staff are friendly, and the chef at the teppanyaki grill is both kind and entertaining. It’s a great experience—especially if you have kids, they’ll absolutely love it.
Daniel - a month ago
The teppanyaki sirloin steak was good—tender, and juicy. The live cooking show was entertaining, with the chef’s skills adding a fun element to the meal. Service was friendly and attentive.
Areas for Improvement:
- The lobster was overcooked and overly salty, making it less enjoyable than expected.
- The vegetables also leaned too salty. If you prefer lighter seasoning, consider requesting less salt when ordering.
- The Dragon Roll was a bit overly sweet, and the eel portion was surprisingly small, which was a letdown. Two people $170 including tax. I would want higher quality food. Need a few tweaks in seasoning and cooking precision.

This teppanyaki restaurant has a elegant Japanese interior style, and the staffs were all warm and friendly. Our chef was super entertaining- he did knife tricks, wrote “I ❤️ U” with egg white, and even teased us by pretending to serve the rice but pulling it away at the last second like a Turkish ice cream vendor!! He also made an onion ring volcano 🌋. It was definitely a memorable experience.
That said, the food itself was just average. The fried rice was a bit too oily (the chef put too much butter), the tempura batter was too thick, and while our steak was fresh, the portions were really small. Considering the high price, we felt it wasn’t good value. Overall tho it was a fun and enjoyable experience, perfect for a family or friends gathering.

Such a charming atmosphere, the entire vibe suspended me. Good music, lighting, and lived-in setup. The food was just ok but not bad. The prosciutto sandwich wasn't vibrant and lacked coherence. Just average. I'd still come back with company though, this is an excellent spot to sit, lay back and chat over a meal. The menu offers a good selection of breakfast foods, sandwiches, pizzas, some other things and drinks, so there's a whole lot to choose from. The service was very friendly but so so so slow. Horrifically slow. Finally I found the the overall cost to be expensive for what we ordered. Again, this wouldn't detract me from coming back, it's a sweet place. But it's worth noting.

I had a great time here. The food was absolutely delicious and came in super generous portions. The vibe and interior was super cozy and I loved the music playing. However the bill did take a whole to come but other than that, perfect experience!

Always love dining here, there’s lots of great options on the menu and a great place for small to large groups spread across different floors.
The best thing, however, is the fact that it’s open 24 x 7, which makes for the perfect spot to visit after a late night out! In fact, the atmosphere is probably the best late at night.
On this occasion, I tried their house omelettes per their brunch menu (I substituted the salad for fries, which reminded me of chips from back home in England - delish!).
One of my favourite spots in the city - worth a try!
Ajay Gohil - 4 months ago
I’ve been here a few times now, and the brunch menu never disappoints. It’s impressively large and caters to both savory and sweet cravings. This time, I tried the vegetarian burger, and it was moist, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The house salad on the side was fresh and vibrant—an excellent pairing with the burger. We always save room for dessert, and the Belgian dark chocolate cake was the perfect way to end the meal—rich, decadent, and deeply satisfying. Highly recommend this spot for a relaxed and delicious brunch experience!

Great for a group meeting or a casual date. I like the interior I think it’s got personality. The mini bar upstairs is a nice touch. Food’s good, no complaints.

We went to this place with my friends for lunch, and it was such a great experience. The atmosphere was really pleasant and welcoming, perfect for a casual celebration.
I especially loved the taste of the lamb — it was flavorful and cooked perfectly. There was also a starter that had a cucumber-like taste, which was very unique and refreshing. I highly recommend trying it!
Overall, it’s a charming spot with a nice vibe and delicious food. Definitely worth visiting.

We made a reservation for a party of 3 on a Tuesday evening. We called to move the time as we were running late and they were very accommodating.
Highly recommended the Beef Tartare & the Tuna and shrimp ceviche! Super fresh and tasty.
We ordered the Village Burger, Salmon (sub the potatoes with asparagus) and the Ragu.
For the dessert, we got the lemon tart and the passionfruit coconut mango panna cotta and that was the winner.
Overall, amazing and efficient service. Seats were super comfy with the cushions. Moody atmosphere. Bathrooms could look better especially being in York ville. We will be back!

The restaurant has a stylish yet comfortable atmosphere that makes you feel relaxed as soon as you walk in. The space is bright and modern, with a warm vibe that works well for both casual meals and special occasions. Sitting by the windows or out on the patio gives you a great view of Yorkville, which adds to the charm.
The food at Sassafraz is fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. Each dish feels carefully put together, with flavors that are balanced and not too heavy. The menu has a good mix of options, from classic comfort dishes to creative plates, so it’s easy to find something that suits your mood. The ingredients taste high-quality, and you can tell attention is given to detail in both flavor and presentation.
The service is also friendly and attentive, which makes the whole experience even better. You never feel rushed, and the staff is helpful with recommendations. Whether you’re going for brunch, lunch, or dinner, the vibe stays relaxed and welcoming. Overall, Sassafraz is the kind of restaurant where you can enjoy a great meal in a beautiful setting and leave feeling satisfied and cared for.

Absolutely PHENOMENAL experience! Our server, Derek, was an absolute delight and set the tone for our entire brunch experience. His joy & personality was the perfect touch to our meal. The food (taste, quality & portion size) was stellar, and everything else was just the cherry on top. The special treats for our celebration were very appreciated too! 5 Stars across the board!

Gorgeous venue. Light, airy and very comfortable with a stylish modern vibe. Quiet dining room for conversation. Great people-watching from the bar or patio.
The food is excellent across the board, with delicious twists on old cocktail favourites and an extensive wine list with something for everyone.
Check out whatever is new on the menu, as the chefs are always getting creative with local seasonal foods, and the results are fabulous. The pea salad with jicama is a master class in fresh, light and inventive. Perfect for summer.
Servers are attentive, knowledgeable, and personable.
Gluten free and vegetarian friendly!

We just stumbled upon this spot leaving the ROM museum. Really good local spot. Sushi is good stuff!! Really fresh and quick with service. We both ordered miso. We got pork and chicken miso. Really good flavor and definitely recommend. Service was great and the bill was fairly priced.

I was looking for a place to grab lunch after a facial, and decided to check out Sushi Inn because I didn't want to dine solo with a red face at one of the higher end restaurants in the area.
I was seated right away, and the staff were all very friendly. The atmosphere was casual, which made it a good spot for anyone just looking for a quick bite. Lunch specials were available, and the picing was overall reasonable. However, the sushi here was only okay. The rice was a bit mushy, and while the fish wasn't bad, it didn't seem the freshest to me. This isn't particularly a restaurant that I would be eager to return to.

The food was good large portion for the lunch special and very affordable for the area. They made our food quickly, customer service was good and will definitely be coming back! The ambiance of the restaurant is regular nothing fancy but for the essentials. I was also impressed with the fried chicken, some places it’s just so greasy thicken batter and here they made it with good seasoning. The option for fried rice was a nice touch

Was here on their opening day a long long time ago, nothing had really changed inside. Prices are cheap for Yorkville, this was the 1st place that served sushi pizza, it's a little different now how they do it but still taste good. Everything we had was good, a must visit if your in DT. My fave is their sushi inn roll.

I have been coming to this Tim Hortons all throughout my undergrad at U of T since I lived nearby, and now that I commute I still pass through Holt Renfrew Centre almost every day. This has always been one of my go-to spots because the staff are friendly and hardworking.
That being said, the location is small and often feels understaffed, which slows things down during the morning rush. It also constantly smells burnt inside, which makes waiting less pleasant. Today I ordered a Pumpkin Spice Latte at 10:09 a.m. and it took over 15 minutes. When I politely asked about it, another customer rudely cut me off. To make things worse, my drink was not called out and was just placed on the counter without informing me. I almost left thinking it was not coming, and I ended up wasting time waiting for no reason. By the time I realized, I was already late for class while people who ordered after me had already been served.
The latte itself tasted great once I finally got it, and that is why I am still giving 4 stars. This location has been my favourite for years, but I hope they address the burnt smell and improve communication during busy times so customers do not feel overlooked.

I sometimes use this cafe. I knew this is great cafe. This time, I had literally remarkable experience in here so I’m writing this review. I visited with my friend on Monday. I didn’t check it’s closed on the day before visiting but we saw some people are in there. I misunderstood they were customers and I opened the entrance door. I realized actually it’s not opened and seemed like they were doing employees meeting. The shop was closed though, they let us buy cheesecake and tea for takeout. I guess they don’t do that basically. I really appreciate you guys helping us and such a nice service.

The food and ambience here was delightful, we chose the food options. We asked the server for the best recommendation for the drinks, and we weren't disappointed at all. They have a wide variety of deserts, and we went for what they recommend and were really satisfied. Five stars for the service and value of the food.

I went here with my girlfriend for some dessert. The location of the cafe was very nice too in a cute neighborhood in Toronto. The interior was very nice as well and the server was nice. We ordered one slice of their caramel cheesecake. The cake tasted great and was super good. You can tell without before even eating the cake the it was made in house and was not store bought or ordered from a third party. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to grab a bite of cake in a cozy place.

We went there with our friends and we enjoyed it so much ,,, our server were very nice and we had AYCE and it was very nice ... they were fast enough and serving us , all the meats and etc... were fresh and good , also they were super friendly,,, and I read in lots of reviews they're charging you for tips or service on your bill but our server told us when he gave us our receipts so no complains on that :)
We really enjoyed it and for sure we will go back there again especially it's super close to our places
Highly recommended 👌

That can be Korea Style but never be Korean BBQ.

Absolutely loved this Korean grill! The service was excellent—staff were super friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome esp the owner! The food was fresh and flavourful, and the seafood was hands down the best I’ve had in a long time! Prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. And to top it all off, we got free ice cream at the end of our meal—such a sweet touch! Highly recommend this place. Will definitely be coming back!

Unpleasant experience.
We went for the all you can eat dinner and got seated right away, no wait which is great, we orderes our first round, the order came pretty quick but it was missing half the order, we ordered beef, beef ribs, lamb, shrimp,
mushrooms, onion, salads, and sauce.
All the meats came but not a single item of the veggies came, I thought it would come later but it never came and I had to order it again.
We asked for you grill to be changed since it started smoking up, the server never brought it until I asked again.
The food was mediocre, the beef slices were good, some of the ribs were mostly fat, the lamb was not good at all, it tasted like a live animal, the shrimp was good!
we ended with pineapples, again had to order them twice to get them, and I wish they never did, it was canned pineapple, we got 1 scoop of ice cream each (cookie monster, banana) both flavors were delicious.
On top of all of that there's a mandatory %13 gratuity on all tables, we're literally cooking our own food and had to beg for service, even the bill I had to ask for twice.
we paid around 34 per person including everything (tip+tax) it's 27.99 before tax.
overall would not come again, there are better options out there.

Been here multiple times. It's a staple spot for me, always busy, always with good vibes. Staff are friendly, food is consistent, drink selection and price is OK. I especially like their edamame and fries portions. Vibrant atmosphere. Street parking can be tricky, but there are couple of public parkings nearby.

I’ve been to Hemingway quite a few times since it’s close to me. Overall, it has a really good and fun vibe. Personally, I think it’s best if you go with a group of friends — the bigger the group, the more fun you’ll have, especially if you’re drinking. For a quiet conversation, it’s not the best spot since almost everyone is tipsy 😅 and the place gets pretty loud.

Hemingway’s is a vibrant spot that delivers on both atmosphere and flavor. From the moment you walk in, the energy is welcoming and upbeat, making it a great place for a meal or a night out.
The food is outstanding—especially the fish and chips and the fish tacos, which were both fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked.
Service was excellent throughout our visit. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel well taken care of without being overbearing.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a lively setting with very good food and top-notch service. Will definitely be back!

The chicken souvlaki was so dry, even drowning it in tzatziki couldn’t save it… the rice was also very dry, had no seasoning and definitely not made today. Jimmy the Greek does it better and that’s mall food.
There was also a racoon crawling on the roof which apparently “happens every day because it lives in the tree beside the restaurant” and had me questioning food standards while adding to the tired cheap vibe.
