We went to The Office trivia night and it was alot of fun. Great atmosphere and a good selection of food. We got the nachos and mini donuts to share, both were really good. The trivia was a great activity to do with a group of friends, they host all sorts of genres during the week so you'll definitely find something you'll enjoy. The trivia night is held on the second floor, so there isn't interference from guest in the main restaurant.

Went to the Pilot to catch up with a few friends and ate on the rooftop patio, which had a really solid vibe. Unfortunately some construction is being done on the building next door so not much of a view but the patio has a nice breeze and open sky, and some TVs around as well so you can watch sports.
Food was okay. Decided to try the special jambalaya for $22 which had chicken and shrimp. It was a bit bland but the portion was pretty decent.
Service was okay. Not bad by any stretch and the staff here are pretty friendly, but would just suggest as a teaching point that when tables are running low on water that you proactively refill it. Especially when minimum suggested tip is 18% 😬.
Decent spot though if you're looking for a rooftop patio where you can get some sun or watch some sports!

Easily the best rooftop patio tavern in Yorkville comprising the main floor, stealth lounge, and flight deck!!! They got live music, amazing food, and all types of shows. Personally, I love the cajun chicken sandwich and yet to try the rest.
A perfect venue for friends gatherings, birthday parties, and live hockey games!

Good place for Japanese cuisine
Have. Wide choice available the only thing being it is difficult for vegetarians as there is only one veg dish available in the large menu for vegetarians
The salmon sushi as well as the main dish was good. Chicken lunch was nice as well.
The veg selection Yaki Udon though specifically made keeping in mind the veg requirements was not very tasty could have been better
rajeev chopra - 2 months ago
The teppanyaki sirloin steak was good—tender, and juicy. The live cooking show was entertaining, with the chef’s skills adding a fun element to the meal. Service was friendly and attentive.
Areas for Improvement:
- The lobster was overcooked and overly salty, making it less enjoyable than expected.
- The vegetables also leaned too salty. If you prefer lighter seasoning, consider requesting less salt when ordering.
- The Dragon Roll was a bit overly sweet, and the eel portion was surprisingly small, which was a letdown. Two people $170 including tax. I would want higher quality food. Need a few tweaks in seasoning and cooking precision.

If you’re in Yorkville and want a slightly old-school Japanese teppanyaki experience, I highly recommend this place. The food isn’t especially remarkable, but given today’s prices, it’s very fair for the service, and watching the teppanyaki show is fun.
The staff are friendly, and the chef at the teppanyaki grill is both kind and entertaining. It’s a great experience—especially if you have kids, they’ll absolutely love it.
Daniel - 4 months ago
This teppanyaki restaurant has a elegant Japanese interior style, and the staffs were all warm and friendly. Our chef was super entertaining- he did knife tricks, wrote “I ❤️ U” with egg white, and even teased us by pretending to serve the rice but pulling it away at the last second like a Turkish ice cream vendor!! He also made an onion ring volcano 🌋. It was definitely a memorable experience.
That said, the food itself was just average. The fried rice was a bit too oily (the chef put too much butter), the tempura batter was too thick, and while our steak was fresh, the portions were really small. Considering the high price, we felt it wasn’t good value. Overall tho it was a fun and enjoyable experience, perfect for a family or friends gathering.

Sushi was great. In steaks filet mignon was better than New York sirloin and shrimp dish was delicious too.

7 West Cafe, Toronto
7:00 a.m.
I was on my way to the ROM and had already looked this place up ahead of time. The reviews were strong enough that I built my morning around it. When I arrived, the cafe was open, calm, and already moving at an easy pace. A few tables were filled, coffee was flowing, and the room had that quiet early morning energy where no one is in a rush yet.
The staff was kind from the start. Not overly chatty, just present and welcoming. I ordered breakfast and it was genuinely excellent. I love breakfast food and have eaten a lot of it, but this was one of those meals that makes you pause and actually appreciate what is in front of you. Everything tasted thoughtful and well done.
At one point I asked to use the bathroom, which ended up being unintentionally funny. The bathroom was very small. Small enough that when I shifted even slightly, the hand dryer turned on and blasted air directly at my head while I was doing my business. It caught me off guard and I could not help but laugh. It was one of those moments that only happens when you are traveling alone.
Afterward, I walked around the second floor just to take in the space. One of the staff members noticed and asked if I needed help. I asked if it was okay to walk around since the restaurant had multiple levels. He said absolutely and let me explore.
The place is beautiful. Dark wood, warm lighting, staircases and rooms that feel quietly tucked away. It felt like a space meant to be lingered in, not rushed through.
7 West serves excellent food, but what stood out just as much was the staff and the atmosphere. Comfortable, welcoming, and unintentionally memorable. And yes, I will probably always remember that bathroom.

The café has a lovely atmosphere and the servers were genuinely kind and polite. However, the overall service felt quite slow and disorganized. The mains didn’t stand out either. The penne arrabbiata had no spice or heat, was super sour, and the Rosie ravioli was extremely bland. Although, the cakes were absolutely amazing, fresh and flavourful, and easily the highlight of the visit. If you’re stopping by, I’d recommend going just for dessert and coffee, and the overall cozy, rustic vibe.
Zeal Patel - a week ago
Such a charming atmosphere, the entire vibe suspended me. Good music, lighting, and lived-in setup. The food was just ok but not bad. The prosciutto sandwich wasn't vibrant and lacked coherence. Just average. I'd still come back with company though, this is an excellent spot to sit, lay back and chat over a meal. The menu offers a good selection of breakfast foods, sandwiches, pizzas, some other things and drinks, so there's a whole lot to choose from. The service was very friendly but so so so slow. Horrifically slow. Finally I found the the overall cost to be expensive for what we ordered. Again, this wouldn't detract me from coming back, it's a sweet place. But it's worth noting.

I love that this place is open 24 hours! We went at 4 a.m. and tried the breakfast — surprisingly, it included a steak, which was high quality and didn’t feel heavy at all. We also tried the pasta, which was amazing, and their black tea was perfect. The atmosphere is really nice, though I wish they paid a bit more attention to the interior decor. Overall, a lovely place with delicious food .definitely recommend.

I always enjoy coming to 7 West! The atmosphere is cozy, the food is consistently good with generous portions, and the service is friendly without feeling rushed. Their brunch is especially great and always hits the spot (love the pancakes). One of my go-to places in Toronto. Highly recommend!

We made a reservation for a party of 3 on a Tuesday evening. We called to move the time as we were running late and they were very accommodating.
Highly recommended the Beef Tartare & the Tuna and shrimp ceviche! Super fresh and tasty.
We ordered the Village Burger, Salmon (sub the potatoes with asparagus) and the Ragu.
For the dessert, we got the lemon tart and the passionfruit coconut mango panna cotta and that was the winner.
Overall, amazing and efficient service. Seats were super comfy with the cushions. Moody atmosphere. Bathrooms could look better especially being in York ville. We will be back!

Great food and wonderful experience!
I had dinner with a friend this evening after a concert at Koerner Hall. She had been to Sassafraz before for brunch with her family and enjoyed it, so we decided to try it for dinner. The restaurant has an elegant ambiance, it’s clean, welcoming, and the staffs are very friendly. Derek understood our preferences perfectly and recommended both the wine and food, which turned out to be just right for us. We had the beef tartare to start and the New York strip steak with truffle fries — everything was delicious! Highly recommend.

The restaurant has a stylish yet comfortable atmosphere that makes you feel relaxed as soon as you walk in. The space is bright and modern, with a warm vibe that works well for both casual meals and special occasions. Sitting by the windows or out on the patio gives you a great view of Yorkville, which adds to the charm.
The food at Sassafraz is fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. Each dish feels carefully put together, with flavors that are balanced and not too heavy. The menu has a good mix of options, from classic comfort dishes to creative plates, so it’s easy to find something that suits your mood. The ingredients taste high-quality, and you can tell attention is given to detail in both flavor and presentation.
The service is also friendly and attentive, which makes the whole experience even better. You never feel rushed, and the staff is helpful with recommendations. Whether you’re going for brunch, lunch, or dinner, the vibe stays relaxed and welcoming. Overall, Sassafraz is the kind of restaurant where you can enjoy a great meal in a beautiful setting and leave feeling satisfied and cared for.

This review is more like a 3 star review but I bumped up due to the service and the quality of the cooking and ingredients.
Came here for brunch and while pricing was on par with other brunch spots, I was a bit disappointed that there weren’t more unique dish options to choose from.
Our server Erwin was friendly and topped up our tea and coffee quickly.
The salad in the eggs Benedict was too vinegary for my liking. But everything else tasted great.
What also turned me off a bit was the fact that the bathrooms used napkins as paper towels. You’d think for a nicer spot in Yorkville that they’d have paper towels but they just had stacks of napkins to wipe your hands. Kind of odd.
All in all, wouldn’t come back for brunch as you can get better brunch elsewhere. But would be interested to try dinner here.

Sassafras is a true gem. The atmosphere is elegant and refined, with a beautifully arranged seating area that feels calm, quiet, and perfect for a relaxed evening out.
The service was amazing, attentive, professional, and warm without ever feeling rushed. Every detail felt thoughtful and intentional.
The drinks were exceptional, perfectly crafted and balanced. The steak was a solid 5/5, cooked to perfection and paired beautifully with rich, flavorful mushrooms. The truffle fries were outstanding (another 5/5), crisp and indulgent, and the salad was fresh, well-balanced, and equally deserving of a 5.
From the classy presentation to the quality of the food and service, Sassafras delivers an elevated dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet, sophisticated place with excellent cuisine and attention to detail.

I found a bone in a piece of salmon sashimi, but in their defense, I did order a lot. Aside from that hiccup, everything else was fantastic. The food, the atmosphere, the deals. They are tucked in a somewhat expensive area so the price was a pleasant surprise.
I would have given this place a 4 star review, but looking at their overall rating, I think the average should be higher, 4.5 at least.

I’ve been coming to this hidden gem in Yorkville since I was in high school - always consistently delicious and fresh! Service is lightning fast and this is always appreciated. I know whenever I am in the area, I can pop in to fuel up before going about my day. My favourite dish is the Silver Bento Box!

We just stumbled upon this spot leaving the ROM museum. Really good local spot. Sushi is good stuff!! Really fresh and quick with service. We both ordered miso. We got pork and chicken miso. Really good flavor and definitely recommend. Service was great and the bill was fairly priced.

I was looking for a place to grab lunch after a facial, and decided to check out Sushi Inn because I didn't want to dine solo with a red face at one of the higher end restaurants in the area.
I was seated right away, and the staff were all very friendly. The atmosphere was casual, which made it a good spot for anyone just looking for a quick bite. Lunch specials were available, and the picing was overall reasonable. However, the sushi here was only okay. The rice was a bit mushy, and while the fish wasn't bad, it didn't seem the freshest to me. This isn't particularly a restaurant that I would be eager to return to.

I have been coming to this Tim Hortons all throughout my undergrad at U of T since I lived nearby, and now that I commute I still pass through Holt Renfrew Centre almost every day. This has always been one of my go-to spots because the staff are friendly and hardworking.
That being said, the location is small and often feels understaffed, which slows things down during the morning rush. It also constantly smells burnt inside, which makes waiting less pleasant. Today I ordered a Pumpkin Spice Latte at 10:09 a.m. and it took over 15 minutes. When I politely asked about it, another customer rudely cut me off. To make things worse, my drink was not called out and was just placed on the counter without informing me. I almost left thinking it was not coming, and I ended up wasting time waiting for no reason. By the time I realized, I was already late for class while people who ordered after me had already been served.
The latte itself tasted great once I finally got it, and that is why I am still giving 4 stars. This location has been my favourite for years, but I hope they address the burnt smell and improve communication during busy times so customers do not feel overlooked.

We had NZ lamb chops. The meat was succulent and well seasoned. It goes well with the mashed potato and the veggies. The calamari was so-so. I was just surprised that they used tzatziki as sauce. I liked how hot they serve the food. The first floor is the bar. They also have an ATM in the mezzanine /second floor and the dining area is on the third floor/rooftop. We had a pretty good view and there was tv in there to watch any sports games.
Charlotte - 2 months ago
It's a bar with rooftop and outdoor patios.
You could sit at the bar, watch sports, and have local and imported beer, including Australian, as well as wine, cocktails, liquors, although the selection is rather narrow.
The noise level is tolerable at least during Sunday lunch.
The service is pretty quick and friendly.
Out of Bounds Chicken Salad
It's a very nice and well balanced salad with fresh leafy greens, soft mildly salty feta, crunchy pecans, and sweet dry cranberries, and pleasantly sour-sweet raspberry vinaigrette - so you have a good mixture of different flavors and textures. Jerky chicken breast (or you can have a grilled chicken breast) was tender, but the portion was quite small. This was the only downside of this otherwise nice dish.
Pavlova
It was terrible - extremely sweet, boring and aesthetically unappealing - a large piece of meringue sprinkled with not-so-whipped cream and even small fresh and sour notes from a few slices of strawberry and kiwi were unable to save that gastronomic disaster.
Overall it's rather not recommended than overwise. Although, the salad was not bad, but the protein part was too small, and the Pavlova was a pure shame.

Went here with my mom for Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday around lunch. The lunch tasted delish, was priced at a really great value, and the service was amazing. For $23 each we got: delicious and moist/juicy turkey with mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, and veggies all good quality and in good portions, with a slice of pumpkin pie that was also great all for $23. The server checked on us a few times, even a woman who ho appeared to be the manager checked on us, and a really well mannered man from the kitchen brought one of our plates put personally then in their passing on our way put he asked how we found the meal and wished us a Happy Thanksgiving

I’ve been coming here for years and the food has always been great. The kale salad and burrata are beautifully done and the mains are solid as well. It’s a good downtown spot and worth visiting. The only thing is that the prices have gone up quite a bit, around $30 for an appetizer feels a bit overpriced. I also wasn’t a fan of the automatic 18% gratuity, even at lunch, especially since the service was fairly standard (water was brought initially but not refilled etc.). Still a good restaurant.

My favourite Itilian restaurant in downtown Toronto, the 3rd time in this next half year after first visit with my daught in law。 today we enjoyed everything we ordered in the pictures 。 meanwhile I would thank for the waiter who recommended me the Itilian pasta with white truffle wich is my first time to taste the white truffle , really very yummy! and I also like the bread very much。

Met friends for dinner. Recommendations were made for food and was both appreciative and impressed. Every single dish equally as or more so delicious as the next. Atmosphere was electric with incredibly efficient and with the most friendly staff. Chef David Sibio has definitely elevated the food and dishes prepared, both visually pleasing with outstanding flavour. An absolute must and highly recommend.
