3 Star Rating Went to the Pilot to catch up with a few friends and ate on the rooftop patio, which had a really solid vibe. Unfortunately some construction is being done on the building next door so not much of a view but the patio has a nice breeze and open sky, and some TVs around as well so you can watch sports. Food was okay. Decided to try the special jambalaya for $22 which had chicken and shrimp. It was a bit bland but the portion was pretty decent. Service was okay. Not bad by any stretch and the staff here are pretty friendly, but would just suggest as a teaching point that when tables are running low on water that you proactively refill it. Especially when minimum suggested tip is 18% 😬. Decent spot though if you're looking for a rooftop patio where you can get some sun or watch some sports!

5 Star Rating Easily the best rooftop patio tavern in Yorkville comprising the main floor, stealth lounge, and flight deck!!! They got live music, amazing food, and all types of shows. Personally, I love the cajun chicken sandwich and yet to try the rest. A perfect venue for friends gatherings, birthday parties, and live hockey games!

3 Star Rating We sat at the rooftop patio, which was nice. The reviews praise the mac and cheese but i was hungry so i got the lamb souvlaki. It tasted good but a bit inconsistent in texture. Some bites were dry, some were okay. Serviceable. Our food took a while to arrive but service was fine otherwise.

4 Star Rating This was a great place overall. Unfortunately, the live music was extremely loud, making it hard to have a conversation—even though the music itself was nice. I’d recommend lowering the volume to make it more guest-friendly. The food was great. I ordered a soup that turned out to be too spicy for me, but the staff were very understanding and kindly took it away without charging me. We had other food and drinks as well, and everything was excellent. The atmosphere was lovely, and the servers were friendly and welcoming.

5 Star Rating The prices are amazing considering this is Yorkville. The food was great but hey, we’re here for the experience. I was out solo - and it was still so much fun and delicious! The pickled appetizer went well with the Oysters! I love for Oysters 🤘🏾💙 Near parking and transit, VERY walkable area…espresso or gelato after…

5 Star Rating A Must-Visit Hibachi Experience at Yamato Resort We recently dined at Yamato, located within the Yorkville, and it was an unforgettable experience. The highlight was definitely the hibachi-style dining, where the chefs cook right in front of you with impressive flair—flipping utensils, creating onion volcanoes, and putting on a show that's both fun and skillful. It added so much energy and entertainment to the evening. The ambience is lively and welcoming, perfect for group outings or celebrations. It's always packed on weekends, so reservations are a must, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. That said, the place does get a bit warm inside—the air conditioning could use some improvement. Also, when it’s crowded, the acoustics make it a bit noisy since the sound tends to bounce off the walls. But all of that fades away when the food arrives. The fried rice was outstanding, and every dish we tried was flavorful and satisfying. The overall energy, food quality, and experience make it well worth a visit. Highly recommended if you're looking for dinner with a show!

3 Star Rating Food was average in terms of both quality of ingredients and taste. Teriyaki ribeye and fillet mignon were both okay. Scallop and shrimp are also very average. All meat were cooked with heavy sauce, soy sauce and some butter/cream so basically tasted that sauce instead of food. Fried rice was okay also. Overall it’s more like watching the show rather than having really good food. Service was okay. Price of beer tends to higher than most of restaurants in town. Cheese cake was good.

5 Star Rating A 5 star review for ecxellent service. The manager and staff took great care of our group, and we appreciated that a lot. The chef's performance at the grill table was very entertaining, so definitely a good place for a group dinner with some fun experience. The place was not the best place for authentic Japanese foods I must say, the tastes were modified to accommodate western people, as >90% of the guests in and out while we were there were western 😁. Might be because I am not a big fan of grill foods, I found the tepanyaki meals were just above 3.5, while shushi could be 4 (nothing special on the shushi dinner), shasimi 5 (super good!). The desserts we had, Japanese cheesecake, caramel, ice cream, were all excellent!

5 Star Rating The food was delicious. I recommend the sushi lunch, but don't rely on this review for what you're going to get because I only tried this! The onion soup and salad were the best appetizers I have had in what feels like years. In my opinion, there's not really any good reason to not come here. I can't really say anything good or bad about service because I didn't really interact with the workers. I would certainly come back here when I have time. 9.75/10!

4 Star Rating Always love dining here, there’s lots of great options on the menu and a great place for small to large groups spread across different floors. The best thing, however, is the fact that it’s open 24 x 7, which makes for the perfect spot to visit after a late night out! In fact, the atmosphere is probably the best late at night. On this occasion, I tried their house omelettes per their brunch menu (I substituted the salad for fries, which reminded me of chips from back home in England - delish!). One of my favourite spots in the city - worth a try!

5 Star Rating I’ve been here a few times now, and the brunch menu never disappoints. It’s impressively large and caters to both savory and sweet cravings. This time, I tried the vegetarian burger, and it was moist, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The house salad on the side was fresh and vibrant—an excellent pairing with the burger. We always save room for dessert, and the Belgian dark chocolate cake was the perfect way to end the meal—rich, decadent, and deeply satisfying. Highly recommend this spot for a relaxed and delicious brunch experience!

3 Star Rating My rating: 6.5/10. I had heard lots about this place and had even recommended it to others before going because of how it had been recommended to me, but I now regret that. The highlights are the staff - super friendly and helpful - and the fact that it is open 24/7 is kinda neat. Nothing was particularly terrible, but to me this was the epitome of an average restaurant. The menu was very long and varied, which can be nice but I find it often a sign of being ok at everything and good at nothing. The dishes were pretty average for a North American restaurant. I finished my salmon eggs benny but wasn’t impressed by any of it. The potatoes were nothing special either, which sometimes helps a breakfast dish standout. Prices were average for brunch these days but that isn’t a bonus to me because the food doesn’t quite make it worth it. The atmosphere is a little dull and dim, seems like some effort has been put in to make it nice but the use of darker tones and lack of natural light in midday isn’t my cup of tea. Maybe the dinner dishes are better, but my group and I weren’t super keen on anything. I might go back if I was invited, but I won’t be booking a table here again soon.

5 Star Rating The restaurant carries a simple but warm atmosphere that comes alive at night. Dim lighting and lovely seating. I ordered the chicken pollo which was delicious. If you are crazy about pesto, this dish was extremely generous with it and the chicken was juicy and seasoned! For dessert, the Dulce De Leches cheesecake was to die for. (Tip: if you like hot sauce they carry a variety if you ask).

4 Star Rating Sassafraz is one of those restaurants you need to try to get the full experience of Yorkville. Perfectly located off of Cumberland, the indoor seating and outdoor seating is great for the possibility to see a movie star. I’ve been to this restaurant a few times over the last 20 years and it’s usually really good. This time I came for Summerlicious which is a way to taste the food at a prixe fix price. My two cents restaurant is pretty lots of light. Staff is friendly and efficient. Food usually good but I won’t lie this time was not the best. First course was Mac and cheese and was alright a basic dish not elevated in anyway and was a bit salty. Main was salmon and vegs. The plate was a bit small- it was lunch so it was fine but the plate could have been larger so it didn’t look insignificant. I was surprised the fish and sides was missing salt. I thought it was my plate but several people at my table ordered the same fish and felt the salt was missing. We tried to use the salt shaker on the table and it was rock hard so we had to open it up and break it up to season the fish. That was unfortunate. The dessert was cheesecake. It was nice but nothing that wow’d me. The manager came by and asked us if everything was ok. We mentioned the lack of salt and he apologized immediately and offered us coffee and treats with our dessert which was very nice. Another tiny issue was somehow there was a long gap between the appetizer and the main lunch. I’m sure if we had time to socialize might have been fine but it was very long and we were hungry. This review is not to put the restaurant down I think it’s a lovely place and maybe it was an off day. I would still love to go back another time and recommend people try atleast once.

4 Star Rating When you walk through a closed curtain at the front door, you might think you're at the wrong place but you've now entered inside. The staff are friendly but during a rush, just a bit more short. The food is mid. I wouldn't recommend the main courses but the desserts and appetizers were delicious. The mains seemed a bit underseasoned or perhaps simply not to my taste. I couldn't quite pinpoint any strong flavours in the chicken or steak dishes. Otherwise a cute place to take photos.

5 Star Rating ⸻ Sushi Inn in Yorkville has always been one of my favorite spots when I used to live in the area. I recently had the chance to come back with my friend, and I was so happy to return! The food was just as delicious as I remembered — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and it felt so nice to be back in such a familiar and cozy place. It was also so lovely to see Maya and AJ again — Maya took great care of us with such kind and attentive service, and AJ was the chef behind the amazing sushi we enjoyed. My friend loved everything too! I’m so glad I could share this little gem with her. We’ll definitely be coming back again soon. Highly recommend Sushi Inn in Yorkville to anyone who enjoys quality sushi and a relaxed dining experience.

5 Star Rating I sometimes use this cafe. I knew this is great cafe. This time, I had literally remarkable experience in here so I’m writing this review. I visited with my friend on Monday. I didn’t check it’s closed on the day before visiting but we saw some people are in there. I misunderstood they were customers and I opened the entrance door. I realized actually it’s not opened and seemed like they were doing employees meeting. The shop was closed though, they let us buy cheesecake and tea for takeout. I guess they don’t do that basically. I really appreciate you guys helping us and such a nice service.

3 Star Rating Unpleasant experience. We went for the all you can eat dinner and got seated right away, no wait which is great, we orderes our first round, the order came pretty quick but it was missing half the order, we ordered beef, beef ribs, lamb, shrimp, mushrooms, onion, salads, and sauce. All the meats came but not a single item of the veggies came, I thought it would come later but it never came and I had to order it again. We asked for you grill to be changed since it started smoking up, the server never brought it until I asked again. The food was mediocre, the beef slices were good, some of the ribs were mostly fat, the lamb was not good at all, it tasted like a live animal, the shrimp was good! we ended with pineapples, again had to order them twice to get them, and I wish they never did, it was canned pineapple, we got 1 scoop of ice cream each (cookie monster, banana) both flavors were delicious. On top of all of that there's a mandatory %13 gratuity on all tables, we're literally cooking our own food and had to beg for service, even the bill I had to ask for twice. we paid around 34 per person including everything (tip+tax) it's 27.99 before tax. overall would not come again, there are better options out there.

4 Star Rating I recently visited this restaurant and had a generally pleasant experience. The atmosphere was inviting, with a nice ambiance that made it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal. The location is convenient, adding to its appeal. The staff were friendly and attentive, contributing to a positive dining experience. I ordered the Jambalaya, and while it was decent, I found the portion to be smaller than expected, and the flavor was just average. However, the other dishes we tried were quite good, making up for the slight disappointment with the Jambalaya. It was a bit busy during my visit, but the service remained efficient. Overall, this is a solid restaurant that I would recommend for a visit, especially for those looking to enjoy a variety of dishes in a pleasant setting.

5 Star Rating This is a cozy little place to dine in, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes it a nice choice for a relaxed meal. The restaurant has two floors, which adds a bit of character, and with the patio now open, it’s a great spot to enjoy some fresh air when the weather is nice. Just a heads-up—the tables are quite close to each other, so it’s worth being mindful of your conversations and movement, especially during busy times. The food menu is fairly limited, but the items offered are nicely prepared. Prices are reasonable, and the portion sizes are decent—just enough for one person to feel satisfied without being overly full. It’s a solid pick if you’re in the mood for something simple and comforting. Our food did take a bit longer than expected to arrive, which was a slight downside, especially if you’re hungry or on a tighter schedule. That said, the overall experience was still pleasant. A special shout-out to Shariar, who was kind enough to treat us to a complimentary tiramisu—what a lovely surprise! He’s a former colleague of mine, so it was really nice to reconnect and see a familiar face. That thoughtful gesture definitely added a personal touch to our visit. All in all, it’s a good place to unwind over a meal, especially now that the patio is open. A few small adjustments could enhance the experience, but the cozy vibe and friendly gesture made the visit memorable.

I ordered their Caesar salad with a side of shrimp. It was absolutely delicious. I also ordered a half litre of wine, which was lovely. But I will say that Chloe was absolutely fantastic and she deserves to be recognized for her extraordinary service. Thank you for a great experience this Friday afternoon. I will be back.

4 Star Rating Spend the morning in Yorkville and decided to go in a solo lunch. I’ve had this place on my bucket list and I’m glad I had the time. I walked in. It was busy, but I was greeted very quickly. When I said table for one she was really nice and placed me by the window perfect place to people watch. It was busy, but the waiter came rather quickly very warm and friendly service genuinely made me laugh. My ordered the mushroom pasta and a white sangria. I promise you not even 15 minutes later the food had came to the table. I guess it’s easier when you’re solo dining. The mafalde was delicious. Mushroom versus pasta was very proportionate and the flavours was exactly what I was anticipating. I definitely was full after a few bites, but I was very excited to take it home. I appreciate that I was given the space to enjoy my meal and I didn’t have the feeling of being rushed even though it was a busy Saturday. Thank you so much for a great experience.

4 Star Rating I decided to treat myself today and check out Trattoria Nervosa and I was very pleased with my experience. The food was amazing; I think my favourite dish is their burrata appetizer. Who knew cherry mixed so well with burrata and pistachios. I had their risotto and the beef was so tender and delicious, as well as the mushroom risotto part of the dish. The only reason this review isn’t five stars is because I was disappointed in my dessert. They took way too long to come out to my table, and the service was a little confusing. I am a baker so I am very critical of desserts at restaurants. I love cannolis, so I got their cannoli dish. I loved the candied orange peels and the cannoli shells were nice and crispy, however the pistachio ricotta filling didn’t have any pistachio flavour, it was just ricotta, which is fine, if that was what the menu said. I was expecting a nice pungent pistachio flavour, but instead got ricotta that was died green. They were very gracious and my lovely server, Maria, fixed everything and removed my plate and allowed me to get their chocolate cake with pistachio gelato instead. When the dessert arrived, it looked great! The chocolate cake was alright, but the pistachio gelato stole the show! Finally a nice and strong pistachio flavour. I think all I needed was the gelato and I could do without the chocolate cake. I gotta say Maria was a superstar! One of the best servers I have ever had. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and really helped me decide what I wanted to get. The manager was also so kind when I told him about my wonderful experience. I will definitely be coming back for service and the great manager Sam (I believe his name was, or it may have been Max, my apologies for forgetting! You were so kind to me and I feel bad), and of course the good food! I recommend this restaurant to anyone who can afford it or is wanting to splurge on a special occasion.

5 Star Rating Very classy feeling restaurant in the heart of Yorkville. The patio is wonderful. The meatballs are flavourful. Portion sizes are average, if you are really hungry you will need an app and an entree to fill up.
