Little Italy Toronto
Little Italy in Toronto boasts a vibrant night life along with plenty of shopping and dining
This historic Toronto neighbourhood is home to the largest Italian community outside of Italy. It is also home to the Italian walk of fame, the only section of sidewalk in the world embedded with brass and granite stars engraved with the names of famous Italians.
Large numbers of Italians came to Toronto in the early 1900s and the majority of them had settled into this area by the 1920s. Toronto's historic Little Italy, is centred primarily along College Street West between Ossington Avenue and Bathurst Street.
While the ethnic make up of the community has become more diverse over the years as people move around within the city and into the outlying suburbs, you will definitely find a concentration of superb Italian restaurants and sidewalk cafes in the area. Treat yourself to some authentic pizza or some Sicilian ice cream. There are also several bars, a couple of nightclubs and the recently renovated Royal repertory cinema to keep you occupied.
If you are visiting Toronto in mid June you will want to check out the festivities at the annul Taste of LIttle Italy event which you can watch a video of under our Photo and Video Tab.
