I always end up coming here because not a lot of places offer salmon maki rolls (nori outside) like Casa Sushi does. (Thank you!)
Regardless, something I notice every time is that the rolls are continuously falling apart. Perhaps the chef does not roll the sushi firmly enough, or does not apply some wet rice on the perimeter to help it adhere.
The gyoza looked very good but after biting into it I was a bit disappointed because the flavour was just okay. Maybe needed a bit more seasoning.

We really love Casa sushi. The sushi is always fresh and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommend. They did two large events for us and all the guests are still talking about that is the best sushi in town!

Ordered takeout and rolls were decently priced and portioned. Pretty much standard sushi, wasn’t anything amazing but not horrible either.
The only feedback I have is that some of the rolls when ordering on their website have conflicting descriptions. Suggest they get that fixed

Cannot say enough great things about Casa Sushi. We have dined in, ordered takeout for small groups, and ordered large scale catering and everything has been above and beyond excellent. They are friendly and attentive here, and all the food tastes delicious! I love their chicken kaarage, and you can’t go wrong with any of their sushi rolls.
Pictures in this post are from a large catering order for a party

Very disappointed. We drove all the way to enjoy the juicy, thick pieces of chicken souvlaki that Astoria was once famous for—but instead, we got small, dry pieces. Prices have gone up, which we understand, but at least keep the quality for God’s sake! I don’t think we’ll visit again, because we can get that kind of quality anywhere.

We had a fantastic meal at Astoria Shish Kebob House on the Danforth, and it’s easy to see why this spot is a staple for Greek food in Toronto.
The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and efficient, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere, perfect for a casual night out or a gathering with friends and family.
For food, we started with the calamari appetizer, which was cooked perfectly—crispy on the outside, tender inside, and full of flavor. The pork souvlaki was just as impressive—juicy, well-seasoned, and paired with their signature sides. Everything was fresh and delicious, exactly what you’d hope for in a classic Greek meal.
Parking is conveniently located around the corner, making it easy to get in and out, even on a busy night.
If you’re craving authentic Greek food with great service, Astoria is always a solid choice. Highly recommend!

Came in on a quiet Wednesday night, so they weren’t very busy. Seated quickly with good service. Large menu with plenty of options to customize. Serving sizes are large (recommend splitting a souvlaki platter if you’re not hungry) and prices are reasonable. We ordered and recommend the chicken souvlaki, pork souvlaki, and grilled calamari with Baklava for dessert. Decent spot for Greek on the Danforth in Greektown!

We were trying to find a place to eat before a comedy show and we needed a quick bite to eat. Luckily, this place wasn’t packed on a Friday night and we were able to get a table right away. The service was fine and the food was good. We started with the Golden Fried Calamari and we both got different sandwiches. The meat was seasoned well although the chunks were on the larger side which made difficult to eat without getting messy. Definitely no shame in eating with a fork and knife.

We Were Seeing A Show At The Danforth Music Hall Later That Evening And Decided Dinner At Astoria On The Danforth Would Be A Good Idea. We Were Seated In About A Minute In A Section Of The Restaurant That Was Empty. Waiters And Staff Kept Walking Bye And After 10 Minutes Of Being Invisible, Finally Asked One Of The Staff For Service. The Waiter Apologized And We Finally Ordered. The Pork Souvlaki Dinner Was Perfectly Cooked And Delicious. Portions Of Rice And Potatoes Were Huge Along With The Greek Salad. We Also Ordered A Couple Of Orders Of Grilled Garlic Bread. At Checkout, The Waiter Didn't Charge Us For The Garlic Bread Because Of The Waiting Earlier On.

BEST GREEK ON DANFORTH. we live right here on Danforth and we have been tasting around to find our favourite and this one is it! We met the owner and he is so lovely and takes pride in this place- AS HE SHOULD! Everything was house made, the atmosphere was so lovely! If you want quality Greek and I credible service this is the spot!

For Greek food on Danforth, going to Pantheon is pretty much a staple alongside a few of the other mainstay restaurants in greektown.
The service was very good and the staff friendly.
The food is your standard Greek fare, with staples like souvlaki and moussaka. I do find the prices on the higher side for what you get, but I can't complain about the quality.

Heaven in a Scoop!! A surprising delight!
I just had the most unexpected treat — saffron, rose water, and pistachio ice cream! I didn’t know what to expect, but this flavor combination absolutely blew me away. Definitely need to come back again!

Food was delicious and very tasty during this very busy time on a Friday Night. Service was great and staff accommodating given the tight seating - brought a small table so our group of 5 were not so squished. Staff even provided us with a tantalizing honey cake dessert at no cost as it was our first visit to the restaurant. Given the constant flow of traffic and filled tables it speaks volumes to the great food, atmosphere and friendly staff. To top it off the senior staff member could be heard singing happy birthday to one of the diners at a nearby table - so awesome and personable. I would definitely go back soon ! Totally recommended to all Greek food enthusiasts! Thank you Pantheon !

We celebrated my husband’s 50th birthday at the restaurant. The service, food and atmosphere were amazing! Amin and Peter treated us like family from the moment we first contacted them!
We had over 30 people at the restaurant and everyone enjoyed the food and the drinks! I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

One of the most delicious lamb and beef combinations plates ever had. Honestly you should be fan of fatty lamb otherwise try other mixtures but trust me you’ll be satisfied. Never skip their greek salad, you’ll need that freshness as a side of your food whatever it is. The greek fries plate is a to the point portion of home fries and greek feta. If you’re in Greek town don’t miss this place.

Visited here on a thurday spring night. Plenty room for dine in.
Nice staff too.
The inside atmosphere was a bit warm and it was a bit old. Especially the washrooms smelled like an old place but things were sufficiently clean.
We ordered mixed beef/lamb plate. Came with a salad, and greek fries. Loved the fries and salad but we didn't like the meet at all. It was full of fat and seemed a bit low quality.

Had dinner at Messini Greek Restaurant and overall, it was a good experience. The portions are generous, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The Greek fries are definitely worth the extra $3—crispy and flavorful!
As a vegetarian, I ordered the veggie pita, but it was basically just the salad ingredients served warm. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t feel like a real meal, so I wouldn’t say it’s the best option for vegetarians. If you eat meat, you’ll probably have a much better experience!

Food:3.5. Service: 4.5. Atmosphere:4.
Food came in great portion and staff was friendly. Chicken souvlaki was our favorite, tender and marinated well. Lamb and beef gyro was a bit disappointing, felt like meat served in the same plate were not cooked evenly. Some over cooked and some not cooked well enough. Greek salad was in a big portion as well.

I have eaten here for years. The consistency of the food is great and it is very well priced. If you want to have high end Greek cuisine experience this is not a place for you but if you are hungry and want to get a quick delicious bit it is highly recommended.

My wife and I finally got to eat at the new location for Mezes. Every other time we’ve gone there we’ve had our young children and it continued as they aged up through to adult children. It was just the two of us for a romantic birthday dinner for my wife.
The new location was very nice and the balcony was an improvement over their last location down the street. The interior has the raised dining area very similar to the old location.
The food, the service and the atmosphere has never disappointed and continues to provide consistent, good food, and great service. Our waiter has worked at the restaurant for a couple of years and was very friendly.
We recommend you check it out. They do not take reservations.
Roger Clowater - a week ago
I’ll start by saying the Mezes olive oil that they have at each table is incredible. It’s so aromatic, and embodies the full flavour of olives.
The food is decent. Calamari and pita with dips were probably my favourite dishes. The grilled vegetables were a bit too burnt (quite blackened), but the meat and seafood dishes were good.
No reservations but we came 15 min after opening for lunch on the weekend and got a spot.

We were very happy that this place has survived and improved their space. Food was great, atmosphere amazing and servos was on point. Not much many Greek places in the area anymore but you can count on Mezes when craving grilled cheese. The sea food platter was so big we had to take it home.
Perfect Sunday brunch. Tha.k you Guys!

Busy, lively place, large portions, excellent service! We went on a Friday just before 7pm, obviously the busiest time for dinner, but only had a short 15 minute wait. Dining area was quite noisy, so a bit too noisy for conversations for where we were on top level, closer to to ceiling. Tables are tightly placed but well positioned once you're seated. Washrooms were downstairs, quiet area if you need respite, with a bar if you'd like a resfreshment. Ordered the small dip platter, was enough for 4 of us, but had to order more pita. Wine for the table was more cost efficient by the bottle. I ordered chicken souvlaki dinner and took home more than 1/2 of it. Others ordered the fried calamari and said it was excellent. Parking lot across from Chester subway station was full but we were able to find free street parking on Chester Avenue.

Last night, we had an amazing dinner at Mezzes Restaurant with our friends. Everything was perfect—the food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making the whole experience even better. The service was excellent, and the guy who served our food was really friendly and nice. Highly recommend this place, and we’ll definitely be coming back again soon!
Thank you 🙏

A relaxed atmosphere that almost feels like you've stepped into Italy, reinforced by the seemingly authentic flavours in each dish. To begin our journey were two plump, tender meatballs stuffed with some cheesy mozzarella and topped with grated parmesan. It has an overall smoother mouthfeel, like a comforting home-cooked meatloaf and is served with a tangy tomato sauce that balances each bite. The seafood medley is brought together in a sea of tangy tomato-based sauce and linguine, creating a heterogenous bite of bay scallops, mussels and shrimp.

Nice location, small but cozy atmosphere. The service was excellent, staff was friendly and checked in during the meal. The food was nice, but I didn’t find it worth the price, and paying extra for each side, that’s the only reason for my 4⭐️ rating. Worth giving it a go if you like the Danforth atmosphere :)

This place is a gem on Danforth!
Had dinner at 7 Numbers Danforth last night. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and full of character, perfect for a relaxed evening out. I started with the calamari, it was super crispy and not greasy at all, just really well done. Then I had the lobster linguine, and it was packed with flavor. The lobster was fresh and there was a good amount of it.
The staff were so friendly and welcoming, they made the whole vibe feel relaxed and comfortable. You can tell they actually care about the food and the people. Definitely coming back!

We’ve been coming here for over 8 years if not longer and I’m not sure what’s going on but things have been going downhill recently. The portions got smaller and smaller (fine, the cost of food went up), the pastas have become more dry and flavourless and oily, and the service is just bad. If you get there on a busy night you can wait well over an hour for your food which is ridiculous. The servers can’t remember your order, they go
Unfortunately I can’t say that we’ll be back anymore.

Hello, I came here with my friends today and I want to share my experiences with you. First of all, the place is very nicely decorated, the employees were very friendly, but before we even finished our desserts and there were customers inside, the waiter said that the kitchen would close, it was around 9 pm, I don't understand why he came and told us this, we ate waffle cake, but to be honest, the taste was not what I expected, it was too thick, it started to be too much after a few bites, none of us could finish what was on our plates. I don’t think I will go again.

Those waffles were something else, seriously. The texture was so light and airy, it's like they just dissolved on my tongue. I could practically taste the buttery goodness in every bite. Definitely the best waffles I've had in a long time, maybe ever. I'm already dreaming about having more.

Kalyvia is my favourite Greek restaurant!
Food:
Fried Calamari appetizer is amazing and my favorite dish to order! Kalyvia has the best calamari I’ve ever had in my opinion! It’s a bit pricey at $25 though.
Large Greek Salad is also tasty and amazing. Large size is great for sharing between two people. I love their Greek Salad dressing and would also buy a bottle of it to take home.
Double Pork Souvlaki Sticks and Double Lamb Souvlaki Sticks are amazing as well! Comes with at least 5 or 6 pieces per stick.
Complimentary Garlic Bread was also very tasty and the best garlic bread I’ve ever had!
I would also recommend their Saganako which is kinda like their Flaming Cheese.
Service:
We arrived at around 5pm and we were the only ones there, but it slowly picked up during our visit. Our server was very friendly and offered their Specials of the Day. Not a huge deal but I was expecting to start off with our salad first but we got our calamari first instead.

A nice restaurant on Danforth with a very rustic feel. The food here was very tasty and well portioned and prices were reasonable. Our server was friendly quick and efficient. Unlike most Greek restaurants that serve warm pita, we were served a lightly buttered toasted sesame seed bread and it was delicious.

Was good 10 years ago. Chicken was below average flavour, while rice was boring and the potatoes were decent. Quality has went down with the decor at the same rate looks like. Won’t be back but service was good

To die for: this exceptional establishment serves only the finest dishes that Greek cuisine has to offer.
The chicken gyro wrap was so tasty that I found myself stopping mid-chew, closing my eyes, and just enjoying the perfectly balanced experience going on in my mouth - the first time this happens in a long time.
The hospitality was second to none and the ambience was warm and comforting.
I will be back with family and friends to treat them to this unique culinary experience! Thank you!

January 31st 2025 at 11:30am - It was a surprise visit to this tea shop for our daughter since she’s never tried halo halo. This was a favourite dessert of mine from the Philippines and I wanted her to try for the first time. We’ve never been to this shop/resto so was pleasantly surprised that there was seating available for a Friday afternoon around lunchtime. The wait for the halo halo was long but expected (if you know you know). Since I knew it was going to take time, daughter had also never tried funnel cake so I ordered that too. Both orders did not disappoint! Very nostalgic to say the least…sigh….to be young again without a care in the world enjoying halo halo in the heat of back home. Let’s just say we didn’t have any leftovers! Lovely elderly couple behind the counter. Will be coming back to try other items on the menu. A highly recommended spot on the Danforth!

Nice place, open late (until 1am) if you feel like snacking at night. Tried waffles, presented as Belgian, but they tasted like old bun dough. The ice cream is okay, but looks and tastes a bit like it’s artificially flavored. Chocolate lava cake didn’t have chocolate filling and didn’t “ooze out”, but tasted good though
