5 Star Rating Stopped by Fran's Restaurant yesterday for the first time. We were seated promptly and our food came pretty quickly. Although there is a limited selection of gluten-friendly options (you have to ask the server for what's available), I was able to order an omelette and gluten-friendly home-fries (these are different, and smaller, than the regular home fries - but you get a lot). My companions had a traditional breakfast, and liver and onions. Our server, Lucia, was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was great; the missing star is for the state of the washrooms. Will return when I'm in the mood for another omelette. It was tasty!

5 Star Rating Fran’s is a solid spot if you’re around the college area. The service is friendly and usually pretty quick, even when it’s busy. The place has that classic diner vibe—casual and comfortable, nothing fancy but welcoming. The menu is big with lots of options, from all-day breakfast to burgers and comfort food. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable for the area. Great for grabbing a late-night meal or a casual bite with friends.

5 Star Rating Went for breakfast through recommendation. They have an all day breakfast option and also more choices for lunch and dinner . The pancakes were awesome and eggs benedict were decent too. Unlimited coffee too. Service was good considering how busy was it , although I think they can use another server . Took me 10 minutes just to get their attention for bill. The girls were simply too busy , the gentleman who is showing people to the table can probably do a bit more. If you looking for a classic American diner and good food , this is a good spot .

5 Star Rating No frills, no nonsense. Keep it simple and keep it good. Staff is friendly, efficient and knowledgeable of the menu. Seating is plentiful, they have a lower level of the first floor is crowded. Atmosphere is nice and comfy. Old but clean. Menu is large and offers all sorts of foods including all-day breakfast, lunch and dinner options along with a large drink menu. The food itself is actually quite good, I wasn’t expecting anything spectacular considering it’s a 24hr restaurant but the breakfast steak & eggs, sausage and pancakes were something I’d come back for. Coffee is good too, not acidic like most other places. I would recommend to anyone that’s in a group trying to decide where to eat on the fly. There’s something for everyone and it’s priced modestly.

4 Star Rating 🍔✨ Casual vibes at Fran’s Restaurant and Bar — a beloved Toronto diner since 1940! Fast service, classic comfort food, and friendly staff. Enjoyed a juicy Canadian Burger with crispy fries 🍟 and local draft beers 🍺 — 3 Speed (Amsterdam Brewery) and Steam Whistle Pilsner. Perfect combo of Canadian flavor and retro charm 🇨🇦💫 Highly recommended if you’re looking for a relaxed meal in downtown Toronto! 😋

4 Star Rating Novel selection of proteins, and good prices for downtown! The service was great. They have a patio and the inside was clean. I think their burgers could get to the next level with a solid bun, but that's just me being super critical. This is a solid spot, and I recommend it.

4 Star Rating Good food and service. Amy was my bartender/server and she was very outgoing and humorous. I ordered the Wild Slider Sampler which includes 4 sliders, 1 each of Boar, Bison, Elk, & Kangaroo. The wild game sliders were quite nice. The boar and bison I recommend. They all had good flavour profile and nice topping and condiment selections, but for me personally the elk slider and the kangaroo slider were on the drier side. This place is worth checking out, and friendly servers, makes it a good option for a recurring place for drinks and food.

3 Star Rating Ordered the Classic Smash Burger with a side of fries. The service for early dinner was quick, and our server was pleasant. The interior is as you'd expect from a bar/restaurant, and was pretty well maintained. However, for a place with "burger" in the name their burgers are unfortunately lackluster. The size of the burger for the price you pay is as you'd expect, if a little on the smaller size. Taste wise though, there is nothing that really stands out about the sandwich. The patty is fine, the buns are whatever, and the signature sauce they use isn't anything to write home about. In addition, the fries are too limp for me to recommend - you'd probably find better crispiness out of air frying your own at home. In the restaurant's defense, it appears to focus more on the bar than food, but from the experience I had I would not bother returning to try another dish.

4 Star Rating A nice, vibrant, youthful atmosphere to enjoy delicious Asian cuisine. Perfect place for birthday celebration with friends, or a lovely date night. I had a lovely time hanging out here, eating, laughing, and tasting a variety of dishes. The serving was good enough to make me full me up. Shout out to Supang who delivered great customer service. It made for a memorable evening. Place can be a bit noisy though. I love the special way they celebrate birthdays- you will feel special if you love spotlight. It was a fun time and I will be back!

5 Star Rating Popular izakaya in Toronto—worth making a reservation! It was my first visit, and my friend and I ordered lots of food and drinks. The happy hour menu offers great value and lets you try a variety of small plates. The sushi was tasty, especially the shrimp and eel, though the rice fell apart a bit. Truffle fries had the biggest portion, and the beef udon was super chewy and flavorful. The Brussels sprouts were a surprising standout!!! So delicious! It’s a bit noisy and the table space is limited, but overall we had a great experience and would definitely come back.

5 Star Rating This Kinka Izakaya is the original location and my first time visiting. This restaurant blew me away with how delicious, authentic and varied their Japanese dishes were! The restaurant itself is sleek in Japanese design, with dark wood and metal furnishings. The staff and service are second-to-none! Our lovely waitress was prompt, kind, and so attentive! She would clear a plate as soon as we were done. The food here was amazing! We got a variety of dishes. I got their Assorted Sashimi plate, Takoyaki, and a Neko Damashi Mocktail. The mocktail came in the cutest cat mug! The sashimi was some of the freshest I’ve ever had, with scallops, yellowtail and salmon. The Takoyaki was flavourful and fluffy. My fiancé got their Curry Cheese Bibimbap, and the Tokyo Truffle Fries. The Bibimbap was so rich and luscious, and the truffle fries were so flavourful! They came with a teriyaki dip and were absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere here is pretty popping, with sake bombs and birthday celebrations galore. It can get very loud, so don’t be surprised if you have to yell to talk! Their outdoor patio is a quieter option if you request it. I would also recommend getting a reservation if you have a larger group. I will definitely be returning for more. The food and service were all outstanding. There’s so many more dishes I’d like to try!

5 Star Rating I absolutely love the atmosphere here, it's live and energetic. The food is so delicious and very well presented. This place is great for date nights or any night for that fact. Prices are a touch high but well worth it for the quality and service. The kitchen staff are very friendly too. We had the Takowasabi, Salmon tataki, Veg miso, Ebimayo, Unagi bimbimbap, Marinated jelly fish, Jap pancake, Miso short rib, and the Salmon fish and chips. What a great night. I would definitely come again if I ever visit Toronto again. I’m from the West Coast. I recommend this place to anyone who loves izakya. Awsome izakaya place!

4 Star Rating Tasty Pizza, But Needs Improvement in Service and Hygiene I recently visited Pizza Pizza and would give them 4 stars. The pizza was tasty, with a good balance of flavors and a nice, crispy crust. It's clear they know how to make a great pizza. However, there's room for improvement in customer service and hygiene. The staff could be more attentive and friendly, as the service felt a bit rushed and impersonal. Additionally, the cleanliness of the dining area could be better maintained. Overall, the pizza is worth the visit, but I hope they work on enhancing the customer experience and cleanliness in the future. THIS IS ALI NOOR & THIS IS MY REVIEW

5 Star Rating Wasn’t expecting too much, but the food was genuinely a surprise. Pizzas are excellent. Good crust, cheese has a chew and sauce has depth. Nachos were good though smaller than I’d expected for the price. Cannot go wrong with any pizza choice though. Service was excellent and the beer selection is solid!

2 Star Rating I’m only giving this two stars instead of one because the service was genuinely great. As usual, the staff were lovely—no complaints there whatsoever. My issue is purely with the value of the food, which is incredibly overpriced. I’ve mentioned this concern before and was told it would be looked into, but honestly, it felt more like a standard form response than a genuine acknowledgment. This time, I ordered a portobello mushroom burger, which sits around the $25 mark. It came with a small portion of sweet potato fries on the side. As shown in the photo I’ve posted, I didn’t order it with a bun—but even if I had, I’d still question how this is worth $25 plus tax. To be clear, I’m not necessarily asking for more food. Maybe the portion size is fine if the price reflected it. But at this price point, it just doesn't add up. For reference, look at the size of the mushroom compared to just one of the fries—it’s shockingly small. No cheese, no extras—just a small mushroom with a bit of avocado on top. I want to support this place, but the pricing really needs a rethink.

2 Star Rating Considering the price this was an extremely low effort production. The show was in a hotel conference room with no set, stage, or any sort of vibe. The actors tried hard to make lemonade. The food was a buffet… it was ok. There was salad, veggies, potato mash, pasta salad, chicken breast and salmon. Dessert was mini cupcakes. I heard they used to have an actual location and it looks like all the photos are from that era. Overall I felt it was not worth the price.

5 Star Rating A fabulous dinner experience. You will leave satisfied not so much by the food (nothing extraordinary, though I tried just the vegetarian options in the buffet) but the joy of witnessing a Sherlock-ian mystery unfold over 2 hours. You actually get to follow the clues, guess whodunnit anf get rewarded if you're right. Make sure to let them know if you're celebrating your anniversary, birthday etc. They'll be acknowledging every such instance in a nice little way.

4 Star Rating Overall a very solid place. Especially when after 4pm they offer the “buy 1 get 1 free” so that’s very ideal. Sometimes though the staff don’t seem happy / they try to rush you to make your picks even if there aren’t others in the store. But I’ve yet to find a place in Toronto where you can get 2 proper sushi containers for $10 (again with the 4pm discount), and I’ve been to places where it was more expensive but wasn’t as good. So yeah: fairly solid :)

4 Star Rating If you’re looking for some cheap sushi, this is for sure a go to. The rolls were decent but the nigiris doesn’t taste too fresh. But for 11.99 buy one get one free, what can you expect? 5 Star Rating (Please note some sushi was eaten before picture was taken!) This was honestly some of the best tasting sushi that I could find at such an affordable price! During the time I went (i.e., weekday evening, around 6 PM), Sushi On The Run had a BOGO Free promo. So I was able to buy two sets for ~$14! The sushi is very clean tasting, and the fish is nice and fresh. The ratio of rice to fish and other ingredients is really nice, unlike some supermarket sushi that gives too much rice. I would definitely recommend this as a great pick if you want sushi for a budget, especially if the BOGO free offer is on!

2 Star Rating Mostly a takeout spot, no tables, just solo seats facing the window. I entered the store on a rainy day and ordered the bowl of the day (Teriyaki as shown in picture). I found out that protein for any bowl would be extra which I found crazy when a pre-made bowl with proteins should be the "bowl of the day" and any additional toppings should be extra. However, the service is what gave me the reason for my review. I ordered and paid then immediately my bowl was ready on the side. No bag, no utensils, nothing. The bowl was not even warm. It feels like it was premade or the ingredients are just thrown onto an instant rice and given to the customer. I was not satisfied and do not recommend any other customers go here.
