Came to visit right after the restaurant opened, skipped all the rush hours. The entire restaurant had a very homely atmosphere. Food was tasty and the portions were so great!!
Food was amazing, we ordered guacamole to start and a veggie platter for two shared among the three of us and it was more than sufficient amount of food. The owner/server was so friendly and got everything very quick. Food was fresh and I would highly recommend anyone who wants to try authentic mexican food. It’s close to the subway and you will not be disappointed!

Food is excellent, but if they are busy, may be long wait for food. To avoid that, we usually get here by 6:30 pm. The chicken tamale very tasty. Sangria was okay. The meat platter for 2 very good, more than enough food. Friendly service, Thank you!

First off the location is easy to get to, being steps from Coxwell station and right on Danforth at street level. There's plenty of seating inside and the vibe is super colorful with many masks lining the walls.
Price wise costs were higher than expected, but portions are very generous and dishes are heavy/filling. For example, at dinner, a meal for two combo was enough food for 3 people (we got the meat plate option).
I liked that tons of fresh veggies/ salad was used for the tacos which tasted homemade and not greasy. The only qualm I had was with the beef being overcooked (dry and hard) for our beef tacos. Otherwise everything was great, flavourful and I'd come back!

El Sol is a great place to go to for authentic Mexican food on the Danforth. The food is pricey, but the portions are big. The staff are friendly, but the service can be slow when it's busy so ordering an appetizer is recommended. They only take cash/debit at this time.

We visited this palace last week and ordered Agedash Tofu and Vegetable Tempura, Tofu was very good but Yam on vegetable tempura was not cooked but overall it was good. As a main we ordered Secret Garden which my wife really loved it and she was happy to see lots of veggies options and I ordered Volcano which was not good as expected. Overall we enjoyed our time.

Yanagi Sushi is a true gem! The sushi here is always incredibly fresh, and the service is consistently outstanding. Everything on the menu — from the appetizers to the desserts — is thoughtfully prepared and absolutely delicious. A go-to spot for quality and consistency every time!

They have a sushi boat for 2! It was beautiful, tasty and fresh, and the side salad and soup was so good as well. The staff was so kind and friendly. I was so impressed that there was a big family with a baby on the other table, the servers kept taking care of them sincerely. We really enjoyed our meal!

I’ve ordered the southwest chicken wrap multiple times from this location and they NEVER disappoint me. Packaged perfectly for pick up, sauce on the side, cutlery, condiments etc. Worth the $18. Great portion, presentation and tasty.

Good Food, but Misleading Advertising
I recently ordered takeout from this place, and overall, the food was quite good. The flavors were on point, and everything was fresh and satisfying. However, I was a bit disappointed with the French toast. It was advertised as "thick," but what I got didn’t match that description—it was thinner than expected. Additionally, it seemed like the French toast wasn’t dipped in enough egg mixture, making it feel a bit dry and like they cheaped out on the preparation.
That said, the rest of the meal was solid, and I’d still consider ordering again—just a little more cautious about what’s promised on the menu next time.

Food was great, customer service was great and the place and bathrooms were clean! Went there with friends for brunch and we were all happy! Great local breakfast place. I had the omelette with potatoes, they were phenomenal ❤️

Sunset Grill - if you want a decent, good breakfast with a throwback, cozy environment, then this is where you want to go. Located steps away from Coxwell subway station, this Sunset Grill is a local favourite spot.
Like many similar places, Sunset Grill serves your standard breakfast fare. You get your eggs, bacon, sausage, coffee, choice of bread - you get the idea. What we go to Sunset Grill for though, are their home fries. These home fries are not the kind that come pre-made in a bag from your freezer. NOPE. These home fries come from real potatoes, cut, and done right on the stove. Bite into them and you can taste actual potato with that chew. I've been to a few other breakfast restaurants where the home fries taste more like that powdery stuff that comes out of the freezer - not my fave so Sunset Grill is the way to go for me.
There are lots of different breakfast combinations to choose from. Show up before 10am and they even have morning specials so if you're an early bird, give that a go as well.
Now, a few more comments about the food that we had. Overall, taste is what you'd expect - a good hearty breakfast. If you ask for over easy eggs, they will come to you over easy. Scrambled is scrambled. The breakfast sausages taste good - what you'd expect. Perhaps the only thing to mention is that the bacon is on the saltier side but definitely crispy. Bread - you get your choice of white, brown, or rye. Featured in the images is the brown bread.
The restaurant itself is actually bigger than you'd think given the storefront. There are 2 levels and plenty of seating. At the time I went, customers could choose where they wanted to sit.
Before ending this off, I have to give a shout out to the staff that work at this Sunset Grill. I've been a few times now and seen the same faces and they are a lovely bunch. Smiles for all the customers and you can tell they know who the regulars are.
I have to say, I appreciate the atmosphere of this Sunset Grill. It's just easy, it's chill, and there's a bit of a throwback to times now past which I find nostalgic and homey. It may not be the most modern joint in the area but I appreciate its charm with good people and good food. They also serve omelettes and burgers which I plan to try next time I go. Give it a go if you're in the area.

Mary immediately took me in (after suss’ing me out) and treated me like a local. The locals were also super welcoming. The atmosphere was light but welcoming, and the conversation flowed. This is a new favourite, and any newcomer should feel invited and like they belong. Can’t wait for my second visit.

My first time at this pub/restaurant and I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was just looking for a place to pass some time and have a quick dinner while my daughter was at work. The service was top notch. The food was all freshly prepared and delicious. I had the chicken on a bun with a side of Caesar salad. The wine was good. The atmosphere was friendly and seems like there are locals who frequent the establishment which is always a good sign! Turkey dinner is on the menu for Thursday for American Thanksgiving.. Xi might just have to come back!!

I waited for a year, love me a good bangers and mash. She only makes it around St.Patricks Day. Faboolous!!! Also had their Christmas dinner too, also very good, could more gravy though. Had them to go, no wheelchair accessibility, no really bothered by it, looks narrow.

I don’t know what the staff here has been taught in their training, but the prices what’s displayed isn’t what they charge to the customers. $6 for Nanak burger + combo($5.60) which includes fries & drink should be $11.60 plus tax, but the staff here says, it’s $6 for the burger, $5.60 for the combo plus $1.41 for the drink because the drink doesn’t come in the combo & there was another customer who ordered the same & was asked to pay. Even though on display it says, combo includes fries & drink, shows same on app & website but it’s different in-person.
Weird service & information..!
I had to just take a burger instead of $15 for what they were asking.

Went to this location. The service was good staff is friendly. I was there at night only 2 people working for a 24hr location but the store itself was dirty food on the floor tables not cleaned and the most disgusting thing is the sinks they have next to the service counter. More staff would be recommended to help clean the location I did notice the manager constantly washing her hands after cooking and serving people 👍 but wearing gloves would be better.

First time visitor and I’m impressed. The place is clean, well organized, staff are friendly and efficient. The food was fresh and tasty. I especially appreciate the hand washing stations near the dining area. Everywhere should have these!

Was having lunch here before heading to the escape room(daydream adventures). A well located place with a tiny parking lot(maybe 20 spots). Food itself was great. The burgers were great, fries were also good. Didn't like root beer, but I think that's just a personal preference. Overall a nice experience. A&W is a good chain, probably will return at some point, but Burger King is still the best.

By now, I think most people are quite familiar with Subway and all the different types of sub sandwiches you can get. This Subway location is right near Coxwell Subway station, Coxwell and Danforth.
I see mixed reviews and as with most franchises, I think it depends on when you go, who's working that day, and all those other factors. Considering all that, on my visit, the staff were professional and I received my subs in good order. Toppings were running low when I got there but staff had no issues getting more ingredients when I inquired. Featured in the images are the Canadian club and Italian BMT. As you can probably tell, we like a lot of vegetables on our subs!
For anyone who has never been to a Subway before, you can choose the sub sandwich you want, choose the type of bread you want, and add vegetable toppings and sauces to really customize the sub sandwich to your liking. Subway also has rice bowls, wraps, and cookies as well. Not gonna lie, their cookies are pretty phenomenal (though not featured here). Some of their newer toppings are fun - try the fried onions. They add a nice crunch to the sub.
This comment is for Subway in general and has no bearing on this particular location. One thing I get annoyed by is the way the Subway menu is now featuring certain sub sandwiches. Some of their classics like the Italian BMT are really buried on the menu.
Overall, if you're looking for a quick food fix, you can try give this Subway location a try.

Fun lil gay-friendly bar I went to today to catch the NBA finals. I was in East York (where I rarely ever am) and needed to find somewhere nearby to watch the game - stumbled into this cute little location run by Indigenous 2S individuals, Natasha and CC, and it was awesome.
They offer great food and programming, centering the community in a really interesting and fun way. Will be back in a flash if I get a chance!
The smoked lime tequila wings were really fun!

Love, love, love this place and Natasha and Cece! We love having C.C.'s as the home for our trans and non-binary poetry open mics. Truly just a magical space with very kind and genuine proprietors.
Really did stumble upon you by happenstance and took a chance because of the rainbow flag painted above your door. Absolutely a phenomenal choice! We've launched three zines in your space, and hosted a few smaller events there too.
Also do genuinely believe you have the best burger in the city!
P.S. please update your information to include the fact that this is a trans safe space (its somewhere in your settings) as you definitely qualify (and I do not say this lightly).
(It takes a whole lot to get me to write a review (particularly for a bar, since I don't drink, but you've more than earned it!)
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Pls keep it up!

After 27 years of living in the East End, I finally have a “local” - with just a few fun-filled visits the owners know my name and my drink order when I walk through the welcoming doors! Karaoke was never really my thing (even as a profess vocalist) but the weekly sessions that Sheldon hosts are so laid back and and he also knows my name and favourite genres after a handful of visits ; and the clientele are super supportive of each other- Queer, Straight,, all the colours and cultures of the international rainbow!
- and, with that, Tikka drops the mic 🎤🌈🎶

Lucy is a quaint little place to enjoy some heartwarming Ethiopian food, the meat and veggie platter is a good way to enjoy all the flavours with Injera. THE BEST! We have been to several Ethiopian restaurants in Toronto and Lucy is by far the tastiest, most generous on serving size, and the friendliest service. Cozy, homey ambiance. Do stay for the traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony. You do need to drive down the Danforth a little further to get to it by well worth it.
As an aside, avoid Ethiopian House downtown. Just so bad in every way possible.
