El Sol is a great place to go to for authentic Mexican food on the Danforth. The food is pricey, but the portions are big. The staff are friendly, but the service can be slow when it's busy so ordering an appetizer is recommended. They only take cash/debit at this time.

This place is amazing! The atmosphere was really cozy and nice. The food tasted great and came in huge portions, definitely worth the price. The enchiladas with mole was delicious (spicy just the way I like it) and the rice and beans were yummy too. The service was also great, the waitress was very kind and accommodating to me. Definitely coming back here!

Shared El Sol Meat Platter for 2 ($54) It was enough for 3 portions. Loved taco aguilenos( soft flour tortilla w/chicken, potato in adobo sauce) and taco sonorenses( soft flour tortilla w/ chorizo, egg & veggies). Was so filling and flavorful.
However was not too crazy about their hardshell taco offers. Taco dorados( hard shell corn tortillas with chicken & potato) was okay but corn tortilla itself was not too impressive, Tostadas Nortenãs with shredded beef had almost like jerky texture. Both hardshell tacos were covered with thick matchsticks of carrots cucumber which have no flavour in wintertime Canada.
I still have not try their Enchiladas, empanadas, mole, tamale & pozole, therefore it is early to say if I liked their food or not. But for tacos I would stick to softshell choices.

Wow what a lovely ( albeit slightly strange) place with the most delicious authentic mexican cuisine that totally transports you into Mexico. It feels almost spiritual. The ancient Mayan ingredients, down to the presentation. I dont know who the owners are but they seem magic. You can hear a woman in the kitchen, and the host is a handsome older gentleman. The decor makes you feel you are in a mexican souviner shop, so at first, I didn't know what I stepped into but I went on a mexican trip through that delicious mayan/mexican food, right on the Danforth. Totally worth the visit!

Amazing find. Delicious authentic Japanese food! Udon broth was amazing. Tempura light and not greasy. Hot green tea and hot Sake were great too! The serving bowls, pots and cups were beautiful.

Sunset Grill - if you want a decent, good breakfast with a throwback, cozy environment, then this is where you want to go. Located steps away from Coxwell subway station, this Sunset Grill is a local favourite spot.
Like many similar places, Sunset Grill serves your standard breakfast fare. You get your eggs, bacon, sausage, coffee, choice of bread - you get the idea. What we go to Sunset Grill for though, are their home fries. These home fries are not the kind that come pre-made in a bag from your freezer. NOPE. These home fries come from real potatoes, cut, and done right on the stove. Bite into them and you can taste actual potato with that chew. I've been to a few other breakfast restaurants where the home fries taste more like that powdery stuff that comes out of the freezer - not my fave so Sunset Grill is the way to go for me.
There are lots of different breakfast combinations to choose from. Show up before 10am and they even have morning specials so if you're an early bird, give that a go as well.
Now, a few more comments about the food that we had. Overall, taste is what you'd expect - a good hearty breakfast. If you ask for over easy eggs, they will come to you over easy. Scrambled is scrambled. The breakfast sausages taste good - what you'd expect. Perhaps the only thing to mention is that the bacon is on the saltier side but definitely crispy. Bread - you get your choice of white, brown, or rye. Featured in the images is the brown bread.
The restaurant itself is actually bigger than you'd think given the storefront. There are 2 levels and plenty of seating. At the time I went, customers could choose where they wanted to sit.
Before ending this off, I have to give a shout out to the staff that work at this Sunset Grill. I've been a few times now and seen the same faces and they are a lovely bunch. Smiles for all the customers and you can tell they know who the regulars are.
I have to say, I appreciate the atmosphere of this Sunset Grill. It's just easy, it's chill, and there's a bit of a throwback to times now past which I find nostalgic and homey. It may not be the most modern joint in the area but I appreciate its charm with good people and good food. They also serve omelettes and burgers which I plan to try next time I go. Give it a go if you're in the area.

Had a slow Sunday morning and needed some brunch food to get the day going. Sunset Grill hit the spot. Had the club with a fried egg and fries and gravy and the fiancé had the grand slam. His pancakes were a little dry but that was the only complaint and not worth complaining about. Coffee was always topped up and service was excellent. It was busy in there but didn't have to wait.

Providing good customer service involves promptly addressing customers' needs and ensuring they have access to assistance when required. Nichole, the employee of A&W, exemplifies this service through her attentive care towards the customers. She takes note of every detail, including the specific blend of cheese and gravy, that makes the poutine unique and delicious. Such a level of attention and care towards customers is what keeps me coming back to A&W time and again.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received during my recent visit to your A&W location at 1606 Danforth Avenue.
On Thursday, November 16, between 12:30 and 2:00 pm, I encountered an issue with the service at the front counter. The individual taking orders seemed disengaged, as he was consistently on his phone. Unfortunately, he left the front counter abruptly without completing my order, offering no explanation or apology.
I appreciate that the tall gentleman in the kitchen took the initiative to assist and completed my order courteously. However, the initial experience at the front counter, where the staff member was on his phone while taking orders, left a negative impression on me.
While I understand that staff may have personal matters, it seemed disrespectful to the guests, especially when taking orders. I believe a professional and attentive approach is crucial to providing a positive customer experience.
I bring this matter to your attention in the hope that steps can be taken to ensure a higher standard of customer service. I value the A&W brand and believe that addressing such concerns will contribute to maintaining the excellent reputation you strive for.
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing about any steps taken to improve the customer experience at your establishment.

I mostly like the Uncle Burger and the fries.
The buns are fresh and soft.
The buddy burger wasn't that good for my taste, but it's a good option for a snack or as a sidekick burger.
The service is always friendly in this location. And it's open 24h.

Great friendly service at the Coxwell Subway with Jeel who made our sandwiches today. She was very careful about being clean washing her hands after using cash and returning to make our sandwiches. She asked how we would like them and all the toppings we would like. Putting the sandwiches together carefully so inside and sauce did not make a mess. Thank you for the amazing service ❤️ 🙏 😀

So great to have a friendly, welcoming, lgbtq friendly space in Toronto's East End. Awesome drink selection with bar rail and top shelf liquor, vodka soda cans, beers (bottle, tall cans and draught). Finger food selection is pretty on point too. See menu in the pics below. They even have a nacho with cheese station. Highly recommended!

My favourite place to hang!! Cece + Natasha are the best! Amazing burgers and wings. Always new products. Clean, much loved business. FUN EVENTS! The BEST Friday karaoke nights! Open Mic, Drag Bingo, Paint Nights. These owners work hard to provide a fun atmosphere. Always my first and often only stop. You gotta check it out!
Jennifer Berney - 2 months ago
I visited on a quiet night so I really can’t comment on their regular events. I also can’t comment on their well-known wings because they were sold out but I’m glad I decided to stay anyways their cheese and bacon burger and fries was excellent. Made fresh, juicy and went down easy.
It’s a nice sized restaurant. They have a nice small selection of board games and a sit-down jr pac-man too.
The owners are really nice and they genuinely care about their customers.

This is my second time here, but it won't be the last. We love the food here! We got tibs and the vegetarian platter. Such delicious, colourful, bright flavours in the veggies. The meat was tender and spiced perfectly.

Enjoyed the vegetarian/vegan platter which is a perfect portion for one…not always easy to find since many dishes are typically served as a shared portion.
The ginger tea was also so freshly made.
Taste of our food and energy from the staff were both lovely and authentic.
will definitely return whenever in the area ~

This was my first time eating Ethiopian food and the meat/veggie platter for 2 that we ordered was excellent. Thanks to the beautiful woman who allowed us to eat at 12 am as she was closing the restaurant at that time. I assumed she was Lucy. By accommodating us , she went beyond the call of duty . Thank you and we will be back again.

I had an absolutely incredible experience at this place! The coffee surpassed all my expectations, and the staff was exceptional. I also grabbed a hot chocolate to go, and it was simply mouthwatering—the marshmallows on top were a delightful surprise. I was genuinely sad when I finished my hot chocolate because it was just that good. Can't wait to return!

Our brunch at Pomarosa Cafe was a true delight. The staff's warmth and patience in helping us choose dishes made us feel welcome. The regular size Arepa and La Cupla were both delicious, showcasing the kitchen's expertise. The open kitchen concept added a personal touch, with chefs laughing and chatting. The cozy interior design created a charming atmosphere, making us feel like guests in a friend's house.
To top it off, the hot chocolate with marshmallows was the most amazing one I have ever had. Its rich and velvety texture, combined with perfectly melted marshmallows, elevated the entire dining experience. Looking forward to our next visit – highly recommended for a delightful brunch, complete with unforgettable treats. ♨️🍫🔥

First Impression: Not your typical Venezuelan restaurant. The design/decor is very feminine and fits in with Torontos aesthetics.
Favourite: The pabellón arepa was my favourite. The meat was seasoned well and the plantains were cooked to perfection.
Critiques: The value for product doesn’t match. I was also disappointed with the portions, especially the empanadas.
Bonus: They are also a cafe so you can get your coffee here. In addition, they have frozen empanadas and you can take them home and make them fresh at home.
Take Away: It’s a great place to try but believe they either need to increase their portions or lower their prices.

This is a cute hidden place. Atomsphere was awesome with hanging live plants off their roof. Our server was awesome
We each ordered a sandwich. I find the portion very small. And for $15+ sandwich, i am sure it won’t fill a hungry person. The sandwiches were also very messy and dripping juices everywhere and ultimately, we all felt that the bun was too small and crumbled with the amount of meat they stuffed in portion. I think separating it into 2 smaller sandwiches would make more sense.
Thankfully we weren’t wearing anything fancy, but everyone had a hand full of juices and that just was just messy

Lovely little place. We had Arepas (cornmeal sandwiches). A breakfast one, really great combination of flavours. And a pabellon vegan: this one had again great flavours… but maybe less beans and more avocado next time.
Great coffees. Even the turmeric latte was a hit.
And it was nice hearing Spanish talked (and sang) by the staff (the chef was definitely singing very well!).

Worth Trying.
Have been wondering about this place for a long time. Great decor/aesthetic trying for that higher end energy, but something is missing like when compared to a Sora.
Burger was good, seasoned well, fries were nice, good amount of ketchup.
Duck Tacos are recommended, great sweet and savoury taste.
Fish and chips looking properly fried and crispy.
Eggplant cakes are not much to write about, not really worth it and flavours weren't clear.
At $70-80pp not really sure there is value found here. At first I thought the menu looked like a higher end small plates pub/bar, but then it tries to take on a higher end feel with certain items- not sure what it's trying to be.
Takes AMEX.

This place hits excellence on many levels. The space itself is beautiful. Really well-designed. The staff are attentive and fun, and the vibe is great. Really relaxing and comfortable. The food was superb. No wonder, as one of the owners also owns a local catering business, Cinq. The cocktails were well-made. The wine list is short, but well curated. The food was reasonably priced for a solid experience. Loved everything about it!

Aviator's menu is a culinary journey that features a fusion of flavours that will leave your taste buds in awe. Alex showcases his culinary prowess with a diverse selection of dishes, each artfully crafted. We are in awe about how no matter which country's food is featured, he is able to get it right every sing time!
The drink menu includes a selection of wines, craft beers, and signature cocktails. You can even have a blind wine flight, which is such a fun experience.
What truly sets Aviator apart, however, is the impeccable service. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of your dining experience is enjoyable. Attentive without being intrusive, the waitstaff at Aviator contributes to the overall sense of comfort and hospitality.
