Pretty good Mexican food in a really fun environment. Stopped by for lunch and got the tacos aguilenos, tacos adobados, and guacamole. Both tacos had a fair amount of meat and the mole was tasty and earthy. The guacamole meanwhile was rich and smooth. Food was a bit pricey for the portion sizes but everything is expensive these days.
The star of the show though was the place and the people. Decor and music were so colorfully vibrant, and the people were so welcoming and kind. This place definitely has a great vibe!

Came to visit right after the restaurant opened, skipped all the rush hours. The entire restaurant had a very homely atmosphere. Food was tasty and the portions were so great!!
Food was amazing, we ordered guacamole to start and a veggie platter for two shared among the three of us and it was more than sufficient amount of food. The owner/server was so friendly and got everything very quick. Food was fresh and I would highly recommend anyone who wants to try authentic mexican food. It’s close to the subway and you will not be disappointed!

Food is excellent, but if they are busy, may be long wait for food. To avoid that, we usually get here by 6:30 pm. The chicken tamale very tasty. Sangria was okay. The meat platter for 2 very good, more than enough food. Friendly service, Thank you!

First off the location is easy to get to, being steps from Coxwell station and right on Danforth at street level. There's plenty of seating inside and the vibe is super colorful with many masks lining the walls.
Price wise costs were higher than expected, but portions are very generous and dishes are heavy/filling. For example, at dinner, a meal for two combo was enough food for 3 people (we got the meat plate option).
I liked that tons of fresh veggies/ salad was used for the tacos which tasted homemade and not greasy. The only qualm I had was with the beef being overcooked (dry and hard) for our beef tacos. Otherwise everything was great, flavourful and I'd come back!

This place is amazing! The atmosphere was really cozy and nice. The food tasted great and came in huge portions, definitely worth the price. The enchiladas with mole was delicious (spicy just the way I like it) and the rice and beans were yummy too. The service was also great, the waitress was very kind and accommodating to me. Definitely coming back here!

The best sushi place ever! Me and my partner order our favourite rolls from here almost every week. We also went there a few times to dine-in over the last couple years and it's been always clean and welcoming, service is super professional and friendly. Food is fresh and absolutely delicious! If I had to choose 1 meal I would have to eat for the rest of my life I would go for salmon-avocado-mango hand roll. Seriously. The green and golden dragon are must-try's too. Every time we come in we get complimentary ice cream or appetizer from their owner. Great proffesional staff that serve great food. Thank you!

We visited Yangi Sushi on the Danforth as a group of six. At first the server looked surprised and mentioned she didn’t have a table for that many people, but when we asked if we could split between two booths she kindly agreed. A moment later a man picking up takeout mentioned she was the only server working and very busy — despite that, she did a fantastic job and kept up really well throughout our meal!
All the food was extremely fresh and tasty. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but the quality was there. We ordered the Yangi Boat for 3 ($94), plus Kimchi, Vegetable Tempura, and two orders of Salmon Roe. It ended up being far more food than we expected — the sushi boat alone would have been plenty for three people. We even needed takeout containers for the leftovers.
Our bill came to $183 for three people, which reflects both the generous portions and the quality. Overall, a delicious meal with great service under pressure — we’ll be back, but next time we’ll order a little less!

We visited this palace last week and ordered Agedash Tofu and Vegetable Tempura, Tofu was very good but Yam on vegetable tempura was not cooked but overall it was good. As a main we ordered Secret Garden which my wife really loved it and she was happy to see lots of veggies options and I ordered Volcano which was not good as expected. Overall we enjoyed our time.

My husband and I love coming here. The food is always top-notch, the service is amazing and everyone is very friendly. It does get busy with people coming in to order and Uber. So if you want to get a seat, make sure you come early- its always full!

Disappointed with this visit. The restaurant didn’t feel clean, and the service was quite slow from start to finish. The food itself was just okay, but the hollandaise sauce was really off. When I pointed it out to the server, it was met with dismissal instead of concern. Between the lack of cleanliness, slow service, and poor attitude, the experience fell well below expectations.

I’ve ordered the southwest chicken wrap multiple times from this location and they NEVER disappoint me. Packaged perfectly for pick up, sauce on the side, cutlery, condiments etc. Worth the $18. Great portion, presentation and tasty.

Good Food, but Misleading Advertising
I recently ordered takeout from this place, and overall, the food was quite good. The flavors were on point, and everything was fresh and satisfying. However, I was a bit disappointed with the French toast. It was advertised as "thick," but what I got didn’t match that description—it was thinner than expected. Additionally, it seemed like the French toast wasn’t dipped in enough egg mixture, making it feel a bit dry and like they cheaped out on the preparation.
That said, the rest of the meal was solid, and I’d still consider ordering again—just a little more cautious about what’s promised on the menu next time.

Sunset Grill - if you want a decent, good breakfast with a throwback, cozy environment, then this is where you want to go. Located steps away from Coxwell subway station, this Sunset Grill is a local favourite spot.
Like many similar places, Sunset Grill serves your standard breakfast fare. You get your eggs, bacon, sausage, coffee, choice of bread - you get the idea. What we go to Sunset Grill for though, are their home fries. These home fries are not the kind that come pre-made in a bag from your freezer. NOPE. These home fries come from real potatoes, cut, and done right on the stove. Bite into them and you can taste actual potato with that chew. I've been to a few other breakfast restaurants where the home fries taste more like that powdery stuff that comes out of the freezer - not my fave so Sunset Grill is the way to go for me.
There are lots of different breakfast combinations to choose from. Show up before 10am and they even have morning specials so if you're an early bird, give that a go as well.
Now, a few more comments about the food that we had. Overall, taste is what you'd expect - a good hearty breakfast. If you ask for over easy eggs, they will come to you over easy. Scrambled is scrambled. The breakfast sausages taste good - what you'd expect. Perhaps the only thing to mention is that the bacon is on the saltier side but definitely crispy. Bread - you get your choice of white, brown, or rye. Featured in the images is the brown bread.
The restaurant itself is actually bigger than you'd think given the storefront. There are 2 levels and plenty of seating. At the time I went, customers could choose where they wanted to sit.
Before ending this off, I have to give a shout out to the staff that work at this Sunset Grill. I've been a few times now and seen the same faces and they are a lovely bunch. Smiles for all the customers and you can tell they know who the regulars are.
I have to say, I appreciate the atmosphere of this Sunset Grill. It's just easy, it's chill, and there's a bit of a throwback to times now past which I find nostalgic and homey. It may not be the most modern joint in the area but I appreciate its charm with good people and good food. They also serve omelettes and burgers which I plan to try next time I go. Give it a go if you're in the area.

I visit this location nearly every morning and at lunch during my daily walks. Ritika, Neem and the rest of the staff are always busy, but keep things efficient and running smoothly. They are always pleasant and it’s amazing how many orders they remember by heart and have ready to go for their regular customers. Customer service is fantastic and I know they deal with some difficult ones at this location, but they continue to work hard and always greet me with a smile.

Warm service, great bar food, in a classic Canadian pub atmosphere. Particularly enjoyed the beef dip which was proper, unlike other dips in the city. Lots of screens for sports fans.

My baseball team comes here every Thursday night. Great time every time! Mary knows everyone and their order. This sort of place is a rarity on the Danforth in this day and age.

Mary immediately took me in (after suss’ing me out) and treated me like a local. The locals were also super welcoming. The atmosphere was light but welcoming, and the conversation flowed. This is a new favourite, and any newcomer should feel invited and like they belong. Can’t wait for my second visit.

I don’t know what the staff here has been taught in their training, but the prices what’s displayed isn’t what they charge to the customers. $6 for Nanak burger + combo($5.60) which includes fries & drink should be $11.60 plus tax, but the staff here says, it’s $6 for the burger, $5.60 for the combo plus $1.41 for the drink because the drink doesn’t come in the combo & there was another customer who ordered the same & was asked to pay. Even though on display it says, combo includes fries & drink, shows same on app & website but it’s different in-person.
Weird service & information..!
I had to just take a burger instead of $15 for what they were asking.

Went to this location. The service was good staff is friendly. I was there at night only 2 people working for a 24hr location but the store itself was dirty food on the floor tables not cleaned and the most disgusting thing is the sinks they have next to the service counter. More staff would be recommended to help clean the location I did notice the manager constantly washing her hands after cooking and serving people 👍 but wearing gloves would be better.

Big shoutout to my guy Aaron holding it down at A&W. Service is on point, always greets with a smile, makes sure the food comes out fresh and quick. You can tell he actually cares about the customers, not just rushing people through. A&W is lucky to have him—good vibes every time I pull up. If you’re there and Aaron’s working, you’re in good hands.

I came in first thing in the morning and was happy to see they were open. The gentleman serving me was so polite with the right amount of small talk. The veggies were fresh, the bread was fresh and the service was amazing.
The restaurant was clean, tables, floors, machines and best of all no crumbs.
I got a 6" BLT and it was absolutely delicious 😋, that I almost regretted not getting a 12" (but that was just the foodie in me). Hands down, my best and favorite Subway shop ever. Thank you to the kind gentleman that served me that morning

Stopped by Subway late at night and was genuinely impressed by the level of service I received. The young woman working the counter that evening brought a sense of calm and professionalism that you rarely find during night shifts. She greeted me with a warm smile and handled my order with precision and care. Every step—right from prepping the bread to adding the final topping—was done with attention and confidence. It was clear she took pride in her work and wasn’t just rushing through the motions.
What stood out the most was how she double-checked everything before handing it over, making sure the food met a high standard. You could tell she truly cared about customer satisfaction and wanted me to leave happy. She even asked if I wanted anything extra or if the sandwich was made exactly how I liked it.
Her presence made the whole experience feel more personal and inviting, especially at a time when most people are tired and just getting through their shift. If more staff were like her, customer service everywhere would be on a different level. I’ll definitely be back again, thanks to her top-notch attitude and care.

Fun lil gay-friendly bar I went to today to catch the NBA finals. I was in East York (where I rarely ever am) and needed to find somewhere nearby to watch the game - stumbled into this cute little location run by Indigenous 2S individuals, Natasha and CC, and it was awesome.
They offer great food and programming, centering the community in a really interesting and fun way. Will be back in a flash if I get a chance!
The smoked lime tequila wings were really fun!

What a sweet little gem this place is. It really reminds me of small town bars I’ve gone to where everyone knows each other and just wants to lift each other up and make a supportive comfy space. The karaoke night is extra adorable, complete with a corner table of regulars that will harmonize along with you.

Random google search for a “sports bar” and this did not disappoint. Natasha was the best, the first NFL game of the season was on, it was dollar wings, and the beers were decent Ontario craft. It’s a dive bar, but for nice people. 100% would go again.

Love, love, love this place and Natasha and Cece! We love having C.C.'s as the home for our trans and non-binary poetry open mics. Truly just a magical space with very kind and genuine proprietors.
Really did stumble upon you by happenstance and took a chance because of the rainbow flag painted above your door. Absolutely a phenomenal choice! We've launched three zines in your space, and hosted a few smaller events there too.
Also do genuinely believe you have the best burger in the city!
P.S. please update your information to include the fact that this is a trans safe space (its somewhere in your settings) as you definitely qualify (and I do not say this lightly).
(It takes a whole lot to get me to write a review (particularly for a bar, since I don't drink, but you've more than earned it!)
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Pls keep it up!

I recently bought a bowl, the flavours and taste was nice and it was fairly filling. The only downside was the packaging which really needs improvement. My cover fell out (it's a very loose for on the bowl) and some of the sauce spilled out. In addition the paper bowl gets soggy really quick so be aware.

We decided to try this place out last night and as usual, our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. We went for the large burritos and ordered the pulled pork and spicy chicken.
The pulled pork was nicely balanced in flavour and texture. The “spicy” chicken, however, didn’t really live up to its name — there was no noticeable heat, just a saltiness that overpowered everything else. Service was good.
Overall, the burritos were average. If you’re in a pinch and need a quick bite, they’ll do the job. Perhaps I’ll choose a different offering next time to see if another menu item changes my mind.

Truly amazing staff members!!! It was my first time and staff were friendly and kind. I would give it 5 stars but there was no option to tip on the debit/credit machine???? This was pretty upsetting for me as I really wanted to reward the staff for their kind service and I did not have cash on me at the time. I don’t think I’ll come back until this gets changed. Thanks

I visited Barburrito around 9 PM, and even though it was a little busy, the service was impressively fast. The food arrived warm, and the taste did not disappoint! The portion of protein was just right, making it a satisfying meal. I highly recommend trying their tacos—they were absolutely delicious! Overall, it was a great dining experience, and I would definitely come back again.

Lucy is a quaint little place to enjoy some heartwarming Ethiopian food, the meat and veggie platter is a good way to enjoy all the flavours with Injera. THE BEST! We have been to several Ethiopian restaurants in Toronto and Lucy is by far the tastiest, most generous on serving size, and the friendliest service. Cozy, homey ambiance. Do stay for the traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony. You do need to drive down the Danforth a little further to get to it by well worth it.
As an aside, avoid Ethiopian House downtown. Just so bad in every way possible.
