The staff are always very friendly and helpful. I tend to ask a lot of questions about the ingredients, which could probably be a bit annoying sometimes, but they always answer patiently and kindly. Since it’s located on campus, I come here quite often, and I’m satisfied every time I visit. Highly recommend!

Super inconsistent. My partner got a medium to hot lamb roti that was stuffed with lamb and quite spicy. I got a mild to medium saag paneer roti that basically tasted like baby food and had a whopping 5 pieces of quite small (2x2cm) cubes of paneer and 4 or 5 chunks of potato. Yes I counted, because halfway through my roti I was wondering if I had received the wrong order and started to try and find the paneer. What’s totally ridiculous is there was only a 50 cent difference between the 2 dishes so this isn’t even shrinkflation as the other dish was almost all huge chunks of meat. This used to be THE spot when I went to school nearby but clearly it has totally slid.

Really delicious Roti. I’ve had the butter chicken roti and the lamb korma roti. I can recommend either one if you want delicious Indian flavors. Best if you pre order because it can take 25 minutes or so to prepare the order. I think 3 rotis were around $55 for take out.

We visited Roti Cuisine of India during our trip to Canada 🇨🇦 after seeing it recommended online. We ordered the Butter Chicken Roti and discovered a dish that felt uniquely Canadian something we hadn’t seen before! The roti was used as a wrap, filled with rich, flavourful curry wrapped in soft, warm bread. It had a nice balance of spice and heat, and I really enjoyed it. I’d definitely have it again!
However, there were a few issues with the dine-in experience. Although the restaurant advertises itself as an eat-in place and has tables and chairs inside, it’s clear that it mainly operates as a takeaway spot.
There were a couple of inconveniences:
They wouldn’t accept our international cards or credit cards, so we had to leave and withdraw cash from an ATM.
When we asked for water, we were told they don’t provide tap water because they're a takeout business - which contradicts their dine-in setup and advertising.

I really enjoyed my meal here. The restaurant was clean and well-organized, and everything looked fresh and inviting. The drink section was fully stocked with plenty of options, and the food prep area was neat and hygienic.
The sandwich was made fresh right in front of me, with a good variety of vegetables, sauces, and fillings to choose from. Ingredients like lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, jalapeños, and sauces all looked fresh and well maintained. The staff handled the food carefully and prepared the sandwich nicely.

It seems like some new people work here and there has been a noticeable difference in the quality of food/service. All of the sudden there is now a new procedure where they prompt you to start with the sauce first, then your veggies. All my life I’ve started with lettuce and tomato. Please look at the sub this girl made me. I should have watched her more closely. There’s barely any lettuce at all. It was so gluey. I kind of felt pity for her, especially after reading the recent review where the trainee was yelling at her.

I had a great experience at Subway. The service was excellent by Miggo. Miggo was friendly, attentive, and worked efficiently even during busy hours. My order was prepared quickly and exactly the way I wanted it. The store was clean, well-organized, and had a welcoming atmosphere. Overall, Miggo provides consistently good service, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and pleasant place to grab a meal.

The employees are really careless with the mobile orders, every time I buy something from this location they just threw it in the bag without proper wrapping and when I get home it’s usually cold or opened up, I’ve mentioned this in store couple times but since nothing has changed, I felt the need to leave a comment here. Please train your employees to how to pack food for to go!

I can honestly say Martino Pizza & Asian Fusion Kitchen is one of those places that reminds you why supporting local businesses matters. The hype is real and the drive is 100% worth it. (36 hours for me btw, hahaha.)
The General Tao’s Chicken Pizza is absolutely incredible. It’s such a unique creation, but somehow every flavour works perfectly together. The balance of sweet, savoury, crispy, and cheesy is something you have to experience for yourself. This isn’t just a “viral” food item this is a pizza made with real creativity, passion, and care.
Toronto is truly blessed to have the owner and his wife sharing their craft with the community. Being in business for 26 years says everything about the love and dedication they’ve poured into this place. You can taste the thoughtfulness in every single thing they make nothing feels rushed, nothing feels ordinary. Every dish has a story behind it and you can feel the pride they have in what they do!!!
Places like Martino’s are what make the food scene special. It’s not just about the food, it’s about the people behind it, the passion, and the memories created around it.
The General Tao’s Chicken Pizza is worth the hype 100%. Do yourself a favour and make the trip for it you won’t regret it!

One of the best pizza slices I’ve had in Toronto! Really nice small and cozy restaurant with a great vibe. They have a huge variety of items on the menu, so there’s a lot to choose from. The pizza was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Service was friendly and the overall experience was amazing. Definitely a hidden gem and worth trying if you’re in the area!

Quick friendly service, I ordered ahead by phone. I went for the general Tao chicken pizza but enjoyed every dish we got!
General Tao pizza is a showstopper of a pizza with restaurant quality chicken that was crispy and flavourful. Chicken curry pizza was slightly curry-y and spicy, overall light flavours.
Also ordered tofu and beef eggplant dishes which came with free rice and were delicious! Will definitely be returning, we loved it!

my boyfriend and i were so excited to try the place because we had heard great things about it- however unfortunately we were quite disappointed.
we ordered the general tao's pizza. the pizza tasted stale, however the chicken on top was good! it was served piping hot as well, which was nice.
the woman who served us at the front counter was the sweetest and very pleasant.
there is very limited seating, which we did not know as well. it seems to be more of a take-out place- there was only one table with two chairs, and 3 barstools. i wish we had known that before coming!

I love the pizza slices at Martino’s and have been a long time customer for years. They usually have several varieties of pizza slices ready made daily. Their prices are very reasonable given the large size of the two pizza slices that come with each order. The owners are very friendly, and the service is great.

My favorite halal restaurant in the area!!

Amir and Basin were amazing on the service and food advice. One of the things I appreciate the most is the great service without seeming to rush the customers, which unfortunately is rare nowadays. Great great service.
We just moved in around the corner and we’ll be surely coming back.
Food was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G and very well served. Atmosphere is top notch.

Me and 6 of my friends came here for my birthday and we ordered the whole nine yards meal. The food was amazing and everything felt high quality. All the meats were perfectly made. The place was set up for our group and wasnt too small for us. We all had an amazing time there. Server was nice and was very efficient in a good way.

Stopped by this place after seeing they had halal brisket, but ended up ordering the smoked chicken poutine instead. The food was good. I didn’t notice the saltiness at first, but it started to taste a bit too salty halfway through; not sure if it’s supposed to be like that or if this place just makes it that way. Overall, I had a pleasant experience, and the waitress was a really nice lady. Not suitable for large groups as the place itself is tiny, see the video.

The food was on point! We got brisket, smoked chicken, Mac n cheese, mushroom confit, sweet potato fries, and it came with sliders, garlic bread, toast, and cornbread. That cornbread!!! Ooooff! I’m so glad we came in. It’s a very cute spot in a very cute neighborhood.

Walked in at about 5 or so on a Thursday and was the sole visitor. Sat for a glass of decent wine at a table while my three tacos that I ordered were being made: veggie fajita, chicken and shrimp on homemade corn tortillas. Very pleasant staff treated me and were happy to accommodate. Nice interior and patio. Tacos were really good even after I walked them home in my backpack. Would definitely go back.

What a great restaurant! Came last minute and left so impressed by everything.
Had nachos with steak and it was HUGE. Two of us didn’t even finish. The third person in our group ordered Quesa Birria and it was also huge plus sooo cheesy.
We had the churros for dessert and it was crispy outside and soft inside - A+.
Will come back for sure and look forward to trying one of the great patios!!

My friend and I stumbled upon this place while on a hungry girl walk hunting for places to eat. The ambient lighting alone was enough to peek our curiosity so we decided we MUST CHECK IT OUT. From the moment we stepped inside we were greeted with warm service. Our server was edddy — big shout out to him and thanks for the extra chips. Eddy was so kind and really vibed with us. We ordered the classic biria tacos which were soo delicious. I recommend stopping by during happy hours cuz they have some good deals. Definitely coming back here again!!

Not sure where to start with this review. overall very disappointed with my visit here.
1) I ordered a regular sized latte with oat milk and maple syrup. I was told a double shot would be an extra dollar but was reassured that it wasn't necessary as the espresso was very strong. What I received was a kids sized drink (it was seriously tiny, smallest drink I've ever recieved at a coffee shop) with regular whole milk instead of oat. (thankfully I'm not allergic and will only get a little bit sick) On top of that the one or two sips I had before noticing the regular milk sticker, tased like a watered down and flavorless latte full of mostly ice. I asked for a refund and decided to go to another place down the road, comparable prices, double shot of espresso with no extra charge and a much, much better tasting latte..
2) Last time I came to this place, they prided themselves on being fully plant based, but I guess that has changed now as they have non-plantbased food by default with plant based options? I ordered the mushroom grilled cheese advertised on their ordering machine as three half sandwiches, filled with mushroom and cheese. What arrived was the sandwich pictured below.. Overall it was mediocre, the bread was good, but the filling was minimal and lacking flavour and I couldn't believe how small it was for the price! (just look at it compared to my hand..?? Way different from what is displayed on their ad for the sandwich. I finished my half in about two bites. $10.99 for this before tax.. I wouldn't pay more than $5.
The reason I gave two stars instead of one was because the atmosphere of the place was nice and my partner enjoyed her drink (Banana matcha latte). However she said she would have expected more banana flavour and she wouldn't get it again for the price. ($9 before tax)
I've seen replies from management defending their high prices but this is ludicrous.. But how can you expect to have repeat customers with this type of product? I can think of multiple whole food, organic, 100% plant based "made in house" food/ drink places all across the city that cost less, give you double the amount and taste much better.
On top of this, the wait time for the food and drinks was long considering there was only two other parties in the store.
When working in the food industry there isn't room for error (especially on such a slow day), mistakes happen but the lack of attention to detail with high allergen items like dairy, paired with all of the above means we will likely not be coming back, which is unfortunate as we live close by.

Absolutely fantastic cozy cafe. The food is tasty, creative, and vibrant and the atmosphere is impeccable. I really appreciate the vegan options and it's also cool that everything is gluten free as well.

Ordered an Americano & the organic oat gluten free cookie and it was great! Super soft and tasty. I love that they have a bunch of healthy options and the fact that they even displayed the amount of protein each cookie have? 10000/10! Wish more places could do that!!!
They have a cute little patio that it was so lovely to hanged at. The whole vibe of the place was super nice, love the deco! I’ll definitely come back, my only complain is that the prices, mostly for the food/sandwiches are overpriced, even if they’re made with top ingredients.
Ana De La O - a year ago
I am sooooo happy that I have found this little gem.
The food is the best quality you can expect. Everything is made from scratch, at a very high standard in terms of healthiness and nutrition.
Even the Chai latte is made from scratch with a home made spice blend! I was really impressed. The same goes for everything else.
The owner and staff were lovely and the ambience is delightful, relaxing, and just perfect for people who appreciate quiet, light filled places.
The smoothies and onigiri are a real treat too!

I tried Pepper Tacos thanks to a Secret Santa order, and I’m so glad I did, what a lovely surprise!
The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered a mix of vegetarian tacos and quesadillas, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and really well put together. As a vegetarian, I truly appreciated the variety and how thoughtfully the veggie options were prepared they didn’t feel like an afterthought at all. The flavors were well-balanced, satisfying, and authentically Mexican without being overwhelming.
Portion sizes were decent, the food arrived in excellent condition, and you can tell a lot of care goes into both the cooking and presentation.
Overall, such a great experience this is definitely a place I’d reorder from and recommend, especially if you’re vegetarian and craving good Mexican food.

I love supporting small local businesses like Chilly Pepper. The food is incredible, the fish tacos have a perfect mix of flavors, and the carnitas are always juicy and delicious. Their tortas are super filling, and the winter special chilaquiles are absolutely top-notch, the chips in the warm salsa are great, always served with beautiful garnishes.
The space is homey and intimate, perfect for a quick stop. Plus, the staff are super friendly and genuinely look like they enjoy what they do. Definitely give this place a try!

Amazing food and friendly staff in a laid-back atmosphere. You can taste the authentic Mexican flavours in every bite and you can see them preparing everything fresh from your seat. Plus, the food is affordable, which makes it stand out in The Annex.
Quick service was also a plus since we were in a rush to catch a concert nearby. Next time I come back to Toronto, I'm definitely paying these guys a visit again!

7 of us for a shared plate set menu dinner which was excellent- a great way to try many delicious dishes! Very fresh and tasty with great textures. Food is sourced from Palestine and local farms.
The service was great and informative.
I would definitely return and highly recommend to anyone looking to learn more about Palestinian cuisine.

The menu is vast with lots of options with those that have dietary restrictions. Love that they are all halal in terms of their meats. The mocktail selection is also really great. The service was wonderful as well and the atmosphere was stunning.
The downsides? for the price, the portion sizes left much to be desired. I wished the seasoning of the stuffed zucchini I got was better done, I was underwhelmed. Charging for the hot sauce was a bit funny.
Happy to support the restaurant though!
Nabiha Rana - 2 months ago
The food is tasty and well-presented, but it’s more of a modern take on Palestinian cuisine rather than traditional home-style dishes. The place is very nice with beautiful decoration and a cozy atmosphere, lovely music feels like home and the outdoor seating is especially enjoyable. Staff are friendly and service is great. Overall, it’s a lovely experience in a relaxed setting with a contemporary twist.

A beautiful hidden gem, serving some of the most delicious Palestinian food. We have been here for both brunch and dinner, and are taking our friends there for brunch again today!
Service charge is included in the pricing, which is awesome. You can order a few dishes to share between people and it will leave you feeling very full - the breads are amazing, the dips are luxurious, and the steak was one of the best we’ve had for the price point.
Brunch was fantastic - we had an amazing bottle of white wine for like $50 and it was the perfect complement to a late brunch.
