El Sol is a great place to go to for authentic Mexican food on the Danforth. The food is pricey, but the portions are big. The staff are friendly, but the service can be slow when it's busy so ordering an appetizer is recommended. They only take cash/debit at this time.

This place is amazing! The atmosphere was really cozy and nice. The food tasted great and came in huge portions, definitely worth the price. The enchiladas with mole was delicious (spicy just the way I like it) and the rice and beans were yummy too. The service was also great, the waitress was very kind and accommodating to me. Definitely coming back here!

Shared El Sol Meat Platter for 2 ($54) It was enough for 3 portions. Loved taco aguilenos( soft flour tortilla w/chicken, potato in adobo sauce) and taco sonorenses( soft flour tortilla w/ chorizo, egg & veggies). Was so filling and flavorful.
However was not too crazy about their hardshell taco offers. Taco dorados( hard shell corn tortillas with chicken & potato) was okay but corn tortilla itself was not too impressive, Tostadas Nortenãs with shredded beef had almost like jerky texture. Both hardshell tacos were covered with thick matchsticks of carrots cucumber which have no flavour in wintertime Canada.
I still have not try their Enchiladas, empanadas, mole, tamale & pozole, therefore it is early to say if I liked their food or not. But for tacos I would stick to softshell choices.

Wow what a lovely ( albeit slightly strange) place with the most delicious authentic mexican cuisine that totally transports you into Mexico. It feels almost spiritual. The ancient Mayan ingredients, down to the presentation. I dont know who the owners are but they seem magic. You can hear a woman in the kitchen, and the host is a handsome older gentleman. The decor makes you feel you are in a mexican souviner shop, so at first, I didn't know what I stepped into but I went on a mexican trip through that delicious mayan/mexican food, right on the Danforth. Totally worth the visit!

Great atmosphere and delicious food! We love visiting for a quick bite or a nice dinner. The warm lentil salad is a nice light entree, but the ricotta gnocchi are too die for! So pillowy and indulgent! The fish and chips are also so great staple.

I stopped by on a quiet weekday cause I was in the area and the exterior of the restaurant caught my attention.
Since this was my first time visiting, I asked the waitress for some suggestions and she recommended me the calamari and the short rib beef ragu which was fantastic. The calamari was flavorful and it was lightly coated in their seasoned breading so that you're not just biting into breading when you bite into it.
Now on to the main course - short rib beef ragu. I don't know what they put inside but its effing delicious. The beef was soft and tender as it melts into your mouth and the sauce was delish.
Since I was alone my stomach could only fit so much food. I'm going to have to come back and try the fish and chips.

Looooooooove this spot. The staff are EXCELLENT!!!! And the food is superb. Everything is homemade including every pasta strand, their Caesar salad dressing, freshly ground burgers; their fish and chips are hand battered; there’s a Sunday beef roast with traditional Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings. Endless water carafes and REAL dinner napkins. Please take care of (and tip) the staff. They love their jobs. This is their “home”.

Best Panang curry in Toronto! Now the desserts take the cake. Hands down the best lactose-free ice cream I have ever had. The photo attached looks great and does not make it justice. You have to have it! Amazing service and lovely ambiance. Super recommended for a casual date or girls night out. All Halal!

Went here for dinner on Friday night; it was packed ; fortunately we had made reservations, so w ere seated in a short time. Great place for great Thai fusion food; great service and atmosphere. Defiintely recommended; will be back.

We went here for the first time based on some TikTok reviews. This is a busy place on a Saturday night. Make a reservation. We got lucky without one, mainly because the owner and staff were very accommodating.
We started with the spring rolls and Thai calamari. Both were delicious. We then moved on to the Panang Curry, Massaman Beef, and the famous Khao Soi Beef Rib. The orders came out efficiently and hot. Great flavors, with large portions. We all had some left over to take home.
As full as we were, we still had to try their non dairy deserts. A combo of coconut, mango, and banana ice creams. Sprinkled with cashews and peanuts. Then the Mango Sticky Rice. There were absolutely no leftovers of these deserts.
We will definitely be back to try out more items from their menu. This will be our go-to Thai place from now on.

Authentic Thai food by Thais!
During our search for the best Thai restaurant in Toronto, we discovered a hidden gem that exceeded our expectations. The tender meat effortlessly fell off the bone, and the pineapple fried rice with tiger prawns was an explosion of contrasting yet harmonious flavors. Homemade ice cream with Roti was also unique and delicious.

Very popular restaurant so I would suggest you call in to check if tables are available. Food was all fresh, great flavour and seasoning, and good portions. Very authentic Thai dishes. Friendly staff were quick to serve our group of 6 and took the time to explain their dishes and flavour enhancer options. Thank you Sala team!

Came here for the first time, and was blown away by the delicious food and service. We got a veggie platter, a meat platter, and kitfo (half portion). Food portions are large and you def get your money's worth. The food was fresh and the kitfo was incredibly flavorful too. It looked like there was only one server, and the place was packed. She still managed to provide great service and provide attention to all the tables. Will def be back.

It was my first time trying Ethiopian food. The servers were great! My parents and I tried their chicken, lamb and veggie platters. All of the dishes were phenomenal! The ambience makes you feel you are really in Ethiopia. Well recommended!

I was there with my family during Family Day. Nice restaurant with a good experience. We ordered plate with different vegetables, meat and injera. I know well about Ethiopian food and learned how to make different dishes. Some how good quality injera(flat bread) is very important. The reason I didn’t leave 5 stars today because of poor taste of injera, wasn’t fresh or well done:(
Very clean washrooms!

It was my first time trying Ethiopian food. It was tasty and we liked the food! (A little overpriced in our opinion) We ordered the white fish, vegetarian platter, and more. I didn’t like the bread but that’s just my personal preference.
Overall we enjoyed the food, the restaurant has a nice decoration, and the service was good.

Great place.
Had the platter with Beef strips.
All tasted great and they even had Gluten free ingera (made from Teff flour).
Not spicy, could have been a little more bit.
The meat strips had great taste but were really not a good cut of meet. Tons of fat and tendons because some prices I couldn’t even tear apart.
The coffee tastes good and it was strong.
Overall good place. It’s small but cozy.

Discovered this gem and I was pleasantly surprised with the amazing food. We had veggie platter and the spiced tea. Both were amazing. The service was a little too slow and had to wait for over 20min for the food when the restaurant was empty. Other than that, it was great

Sora is an absolute gem & well worth the wait. The fact that it’s often packed with locals on a strip full of Ethiopian restaurants tells you everything you need to know. Service is generally good but if they’re slow take the opportunity to soak in the atmosphere & be transported to Ethiopia. Portions are generous and very fairly priced (especially the platters).

Great Ethiopian place! Don’t go if you are very hungry because the service is very slow but worth the wait once the food arrives! The waitresses seemed very under pressure thus everything took long. The vibe is great and my favourite part was the coffee ceremony..

Food that feels like home! Flavourful, healthy food, with good variety and good portions! We had chicken & rice, and the vegetable platter with injera, which were excellent. Our server was nice and helpful and the owner was very kind and hospitable! The potatoes and carrots were also super delicious, warm and hearty. Wonderful and authentic Ethiopian restaurant!! Will definitely come back again.

Went for lunch with some friends to rendezvous, the food is very tasty with the various vegetable combo and meat combos. Their injera is very fresh. Had left over which I warmed up the next day with the Injira and it was still tasty. The smell of frankincense is very delightful.

I love Ethiopian food and so I try to go to as many different places serving it as possible. Rendezvous has by far been my top 3 so far. The food is great, the staff is very helpful. We had someone in our party who was having Ethiopian for the first time and the staff really took time to explain to them the different dishes. The service wasn’t the fastest but that did not take away from the experience. A must try whether you are an avid food lover or looking to try something new and interesting.
They have plenty options for meat lovers and vegetarians and the portions are substantial.

I really like this place. It is cozy, it has a wide selection of beers and they have a changing dish which tends to be very original and tasty. It's like your go-to local pub when you want to meet friends over a beer and a nice burger. It has some social areas where you'll sit next to strangers on a large table, but it's ok. It's part of the laid-back atmosphere here. They also have a nice patio outdoors. Food is good, friendly service.

Great little pub for a cozy bite to eat. The beer selection has a good variety, the staff are friendly, and the food is delicious. Follow their Instagram for a beautiful picture of the daily special (the butter chicken sandwich was so good).

Phenomenal menu! This place clearly has a very talented chef. They have a curated menu with probably 10-15 or so options yet somehow all of them sounded insanely delicious. In addition to that, if you check out their Instagram you’ll see they have a daily special. To come up with something of that caliber everyday is extremely impressive. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food and service.
The fish tacos are some of the best I’ve ever had, great fusion flavours. That being said, I’m confident that anything off this menu would be amazing. Everyone at our table was very happy with their meals, and they have a great drink menu to go with it. Definitely stop here for a meal if you’re in the area but it’s also worth going out of your way to get there.

Great selection of beer knowledgeable staff. Great food. Sometimes too busy so go to sauce for a drink while on the wait list find out what band is playing so you can go back after dinner!! Burger is great one of the best in the city. Mozzarella sticks are unique.

Lovely little place near Greentown. The burger the best the chicken wings were nicely presented but i didnt enjoy the flavor of the sauce as much. Everything was freshly made and served nice and warm. Service was great and attentive. Their location is relatively small and cozy but you could go as groups as well.

This was my first experience with Ethiopian food and I really liked it. The Injera bread was so different and such an experience to be grabbing each bite with this. We ordered a mixed plate and even though I didn't know what each thing was, I just knew all the flavors were different and delicious. One mixed plate is good for 4-5 people.

Great food. On a high range price - 25-30$ per person, without any drinks or starter or dessert. Well seasoned food. We tried the platter. My first Ethiopian food experience and instantly fall in love.

Would definitely recommend this place. The food is delicious! Portion sizes are huge with the right amount of spice and flavour combinations. Our party of 7 shared the Wazema platter with chicken cha cha and doro wot. however, the drinks were pretty mediocre.
The place is small and has a smoky smell from burning incense during the traditional coffee ceremony.
Vini N - a year ago
Food was delicious. Our party of four shared the veggie platter for two and we were satisfied. We have to admit that from the outside the restaurant seemed like it would be quite clean and modern and designed, so we were a bit surprised that it had more of a bar atmosphere with black ceilings that really needed attention and the place smelled really smoky even though it was just supposed to be incense. Plus on that day, it smell like something unfortunately burned in the kitchen and it had that 'burnt pan' smell wafting through the restaurant. We are looking forward to another visit to try more dishes.

I come here with my Ethiopian friend when she comes to visit. This place is so cozy. Ethiopian cuisine with a bar like atmosphere in the front. The service is amazing and the food... omg so phenomenal. I've been to Ethiopian restaurants in many other cities but this is by far the best food and the best vibe. I find other places intimidating because there usually isn't any physical menu and you have to order in Amharic (Ethiopian dialect) but Blue Nile menus is so easy to navigate with explanations in english.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, giving us advice and information about the different menu items. Food was amazing, great experience and the coffee...WOW!! Loved it. Definitely a must if you're a coffee drinker. We'll go back to try other things, really enjoyed it.
