Pretty good Mexican food in a really fun environment. Stopped by for lunch and got the tacos aguilenos, tacos adobados, and guacamole. Both tacos had a fair amount of meat and the mole was tasty and earthy. The guacamole meanwhile was rich and smooth. Food was a bit pricey for the portion sizes but everything is expensive these days.
The star of the show though was the place and the people. Decor and music were so colorfully vibrant, and the people were so welcoming and kind. This place definitely has a great vibe!

Came to visit right after the restaurant opened, skipped all the rush hours. The entire restaurant had a very homely atmosphere. Food was tasty and the portions were so great!!
Food was amazing, we ordered guacamole to start and a veggie platter for two shared among the three of us and it was more than sufficient amount of food. The owner/server was so friendly and got everything very quick. Food was fresh and I would highly recommend anyone who wants to try authentic mexican food. It’s close to the subway and you will not be disappointed!

Food is excellent, but if they are busy, may be long wait for food. To avoid that, we usually get here by 6:30 pm. The chicken tamale very tasty. Sangria was okay. The meat platter for 2 very good, more than enough food. Friendly service, Thank you!

Entering El Sol was like going into a museum of Mexico's Mayan and Aztec past. The walls are beautifully decorated with various artifacts that I wish I had more to inspect closely. I had the Carne Asada which was well seasoned and delicious. The potatoes complemented the dish wonderfully. The manager/owner? provided some pickled peppers on the side which kicked it up a notch. Overall, terrific food, service and atmosphere. A genuine authentic Mexican culinary experience. It was like eating at a Mexican home not just a restaurant.

I’ve been coming to this neighbourhood spot for years now, and it honestly never disappoints. It’s just such a reliable place on the Danforth when you want a solid meal without any fuss. The vibe is always welcoming. If you go, just get the Morgans Burger or the southern fried chicken!! it's consistently one of the best I've had in the city. Just real, honest food done right.

Food was good. Service was even better. We nearly walked right on by because the food pictured on the sign wasn't especially appealing (note to owner: considering changing your sign and getting new photos). But we were crunched for time so we went with it and glad we did. The staff were all absolutely lovely. And the food was all very good. Not the best I've ever eaten, but good flavors and solid for the price. Eating at the tables on the sidewalk was an added bonus on a beautiful summer evening.

Absolutely amazing the service was very attentive and friendly. The food was superb. Very creative recipes and the size and quality was awesome. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food. I also got one of the best non-alcoholic cocktails ever. Highly recommend!

It can be tough finding places on the Danforth that cater to mixed groups, but Morgans was great. We were a group of 6 people and the staff here were very accommodating with questions about ingredients. I ordered the Pesto Ricotta Gnocchi as a vegetarian option, and it was fantastic, you could really taste the fresh ingredients. They also mentioned having gluten-free options and vegan choices, which is good to know for next time. Will surely try and bring over more friends for them to try this place out! Shoutout to Mayank for being a good server!!

Ordered a few dishes on Uber Eats and everything was great. The southern fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and not greasy at all. The calamari was light and perfectly cooked, and the arugula salad was fresh with a really nice dressing. Everything was well packed. Solid food and definitely ordering again.

If you're in the East end, consider going to Sala Thai for some authentic Thai food that screams comfort and joy. Located just steps away from Greenwood station on the Danforth, this cozy and quaint restaurant is the epitome of comfort.
First off, the main dishes feature complex Thai flavors that are the perfect balance. They're just the right level of salty, sweet, spicy without being too overpowering. We've been a few times and all the dishes we've tried are divine.
Today, we had the Pad See Ew (thick noodles with veggies, we chose chicken, other options available), pineapple fried rice (luscious chunks of pineapple), and pineapple curry (not too spicy with fragrant coconut for the perfect balance). Dishes have options for meat or vegetables.
Drinks - we tried their Thai ice tea and iced green tea. Wow! Mind blown. Sweet and fragrant and just so so delicious. Wish I had more words at my disposal to express how tasty this was.
Oh...we also tried their coconut rice (available as a side or upgrade) as well as the Thai roti (light, fried, and so so good)
Finished dinner off with their buddy dessert combo, homemade ice cream folks! A must try. We had the coconut ice cream but the surprise was the sweet glutinous rice that the ice cream sits on. Honestly, never had this combo before and I think I'm officially addicted! It also came with a roti sandwiched with Nutella and sautéed banana. Warm, rich, and made us all so happy.
FYI - nuts are present in certain dishes. Staff will ask if you're allergic but keep that in mind as an FYI.
For spice lovers, your table will have a tray of assorted toppings to accent your dish from super spicy to tart spicy and sugar to balance it all out. We didn't use them though. The food was way too tasty as is!
Atmosphere - quaint and cozy and you could accidentally sit here for hours sitting, eating, chatting without realizing time has passed.
Staff, honestly are warm, professional, and really attentive and helpful. If you have questions about the food, ask and they'll be happy to help.
One point to note, depending on the day and time, Sala can be very busy. The restaurant is small so you may have to wait for a table.
We will be back? Most definitely since we've already been there several times 😁😁

Very cozy restaurant with phenomenal service and food equally good. The prices may seem high but the portion for each dish is huge. Most dishes can be shared by two people. The massaman curry and panag Currey was probably the best in Toronto. Definitely recommend.

Absolutely love this place! The service is exceptional, portions are fair, and every dish is delicious. The chef is incredibly warm and friendly, which makes the whole experience even better. One of my favorite spots for Thai food!

Sala Kitchen has to be hands down my favourite Thai restauraunt in all of not only Toronto but the GTA. The staff are amazing, shout to Porruthai who always remembers my drink (Viet iced tea) and the Khao Soi with Beef Rib. This beef rib is cooked so beautifully and perfectly every time I'm there, the meat falls off the bone by just jabbing it with your fork and its so moist and delicious. And the boiled egg split in two is perfectly cooked. Such a small detail but some people overboil eggs and you'll see grey on the egg, but at Sala Kitchen its perfectly yellow and not grey meaning the perfect amount of boiled. I've taken friends here many times and hope to come for many more!

Our favorite dish was the coconut red noodles (shown in the last photo), but unfortunately it wasn’t on the menu during our last visit. We tried a few other dishes instead. They were just okay; they fell short of being amazing. The dishes were quite oily, yet the proteins were still dry.
The restaurant is very popular, so the wait time was long and a bit painful. Given how much we enjoyed our first visit, we had high expectations, and this time the wait simply wasn’t worth it for us.

5 Stars – A True Gem on the Danforth!
Had an absolutely amazing dinner at Lalibela Ethiopian Restaurant on the Danforth! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by Corning and Sewa, who provided the best customer service we’ve experienced in a long time. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring – they made the whole evening extra special.
The food was incredible! We ordered the special combo, and every bite was bursting with flavour. The portion sizes were generous, and everything tasted fresh and perfectly spiced. It’s clear the kitchen puts a lot of heart into each dish.
If you’re looking for authentic Ethiopian food in Toronto with a cozy atmosphere and standout hospitality, Lalibela is the place to go. I’ll definitely be back!

Sora 🛎️ Restaurant 🛎️ make you feel you are still with your own family home in Ethiopia. 🛎️ The traditional food is so testy that you will order for more while you are still eating what you were served before. I went to Sora with my good friend last Sunday and we enjoyed 'kittfo' and 'kikil'.
It was my very first time but loved it instantly. The test of the food has no comparison. On weekend it's a bit busy due to its popularity. So you need to ARRIVE at the restaurant a bit earlier to avoid disappointment.
All are welcome; Singles, Married, Friends, Families with Children and people with wheelchair.
The overall atmosphere was great. You will be served with first-class genuine Ethiopian home cooked food with its original authentic aroma and test.
Above all, the owner & manager of the restaurant himself is physically at the spot making sure that all customers are well looked after and treated with outmost respect from start to finish. My over experience was great and thank you for your excellent customer service and food.

I was recommended to come try the food by my fiancés boss, and I couldn’t be any more happier with the food. It was my first time ever having Ethiopian food and I had ordered the ChaCha (I think) and their spiced tea, which the owner had recommended. I had asked to substitute with beef instead of lamb and the meat was seasoned so well I didn’t realize there was lamb ribs also in the dish. I wasn’t even mad lol.
I’ll definitely be back

Great place.
Had the platter with Beef strips.
All tasted great and they even had Gluten free ingera (made from Teff flour).
Not spicy, could have been a little more bit.
The meat strips had great taste but were really not a good cut of meet. Tons of fat and tendons because some prices I couldn’t even tear apart.
The coffee tastes good and it was strong.
Overall good place. It’s small but cozy.

We were visiting from the states and discovered that there was a large Ethiopian culture here. Excited, we decided to try Ethiopian cuisine, which has been on my list for a long time. Lucky for us our Driver was Ethiopian and steered us to rendezvous.
In a word, it was simply amazing immediately when we entered we were treated like VIPs The owner came out and immediately greeted us with a big smile. The place was warm, welcoming, and had a really relaxed vibe. We told her we wanted a great sampling of everything on her menu and she concurred. First, they brought out Tej Which is Ethiopian wine which was delicious. And to begin our experience, one of the wait staff walked around with a roasting pan with coffee beans from Ethiopia surrounding our table with the aroma of coffee And slight smoke. Next came the main meal and it was simply delicious. We had the kitfo ,cheese , roasted lamb, cabbage, spinach, lentils, salad, and authentic injera bread. This also came with a side of frankincense which further authenticated the true experience. Our entire table was completely blown away how delicious and flavorful the food really was. You can tell that this was made with love. It was a feast. Everything was topped off with a delicious coffee ceremony! . We won’t soon forget Rendevous or Banchi the owner or her delightful staff, I highly recommend you put this restaurant on your list when you visit Toronto or if you’re a local who’s never experienced an Ethiopian food. Please tell Banchi we said hello!

What an amazing Ethiopian restaurant! 🇪🇹✨ The food is incredibly tasty, healthy, and full of rich, authentic flavors. The owner, Banchy, is fantastic — so friendly, welcoming, and sociable. The customer service is truly A+, you feel taken care of from the moment you walk in.
The atmosphere is perfect for a night out. You’ll enjoy your evening with beautiful live band music that makes the whole experience unforgettable.
Highly recommended for anyone who wants delicious Ethiopian food, great vibes, and amazing hospitality. Thank you, Banchy! 😋😊🙌🏾

Got the ChaCha, which is charbroiled beef tender seasoned with spices, onion, garlic, red pepper, green pepper, ginger, rosemary, served with Injera and green salad. I wasn't so familiar with this cuisine or how to order, so I didn't know my order would just be the meat and none of the other sauce things would come with it. Oh well. That's too bad, because I didn't really get a chance to truly taste this cuisine. Had a great time though, but the food took a really long time to come out, and the meat was a bit too hard for me.
Jennifer - 5 months ago
I've been here many times over the years, always flavorful food. Veggie platters and doro wat are great staples and cant go wrong with them. Visited recently and im not sure if it was the portions but didn't feel like there was that much protein compared to every other visit, but they've been great everytime before so I'd overlook it.
The thing that annoyed me was the service, which has usually been the weakest point. We asked for extra plates/utensils and waited for what felt like 10 mins just to remind them to provide it for us... improvements to these things would elevate the experience here.

Had such a great time at Wazema Ethiopian Restaurant! The place has a really nice, cozy vibe — warm lighting, beautiful decor, and that comforting aroma of spices as soon as you walk in.
The veggie platter was my favourite — everything was fresh, flavourful, and perfectly spiced. The injera was soft and soaked up all the goodness from the lentils, greens, and stews. I also tried a few other dishes, and honestly, every bite was delicious.
The staff were super friendly and made the whole experience even better — they took time to explain the dishes and made sure we had everything we needed.
Such a lovely spot for authentic Ethiopian food in Toronto. Can’t wait to go back!

Wazema is a highly-rated, family-run restaurant on the Danforth known for serving authentic, richly spiced Ethiopian cuisine, particularly famous for its generous platters and late-night atmosphere.
Highlights:
The Food: The menu is extensive, offering excellent options for both meat-eaters and vegans/vegetarians. Dishes are served on large sheets of injera (sourdough flatbread) for communal, hand-fed dining.
Must-Try Dishes: The Wazema Platter (combining various meats and veggies) and the Veggie Delight (which features flavorful stews like misir wot and gomen wot) are the most popular choices for sharing. The Kitfo (finely chopped raw or lightly cooked beef) is also highly praised.
The Vibe: The restaurant often transitions into a more "club-like" atmosphere in the evening, sometimes featuring live music or dancing, making it a great spot for a vibrant and social dining experience.
Tip: If you prefer a quieter meal, visiting earlier in the day is recommended. They are also well-known for their delicious Ethiopian coffee ceremony on certain evenings.
