Came to visit right after the restaurant opened, skipped all the rush hours. The entire restaurant had a very homely atmosphere. Food was tasty and the portions were so great!!
Food was amazing, we ordered guacamole to start and a veggie platter for two shared among the three of us and it was more than sufficient amount of food. The owner/server was so friendly and got everything very quick. Food was fresh and I would highly recommend anyone who wants to try authentic mexican food. It’s close to the subway and you will not be disappointed!

Food is excellent, but if they are busy, may be long wait for food. To avoid that, we usually get here by 6:30 pm. The chicken tamale very tasty. Sangria was okay. The meat platter for 2 very good, more than enough food. Friendly service, Thank you!

First off the location is easy to get to, being steps from Coxwell station and right on Danforth at street level. There's plenty of seating inside and the vibe is super colorful with many masks lining the walls.
Price wise costs were higher than expected, but portions are very generous and dishes are heavy/filling. For example, at dinner, a meal for two combo was enough food for 3 people (we got the meat plate option).
I liked that tons of fresh veggies/ salad was used for the tacos which tasted homemade and not greasy. The only qualm I had was with the beef being overcooked (dry and hard) for our beef tacos. Otherwise everything was great, flavourful and I'd come back!

El Sol is a great place to go to for authentic Mexican food on the Danforth. The food is pricey, but the portions are big. The staff are friendly, but the service can be slow when it's busy so ordering an appetizer is recommended. They only take cash/debit at this time.

Cozy restaurant. Really tasty food. The chicken wings are incredible. The soup is amazing. The parmesan fries are delicious too 🤤🤤🤤. The staff are friendly and quick service too. Highly recommend!

Great atmosphere and delicious food! We love visiting for a quick bite or a nice dinner. The warm lentil salad is a nice light entree, but the ricotta gnocchi are too die for! So pillowy and indulgent! The fish and chips are also so great staple.

Best cocktails. Love the ambience. The General Manager and chefs make sure you have a great time with food. Tiramisu pancakes on their brunch menu are the highlight. Great portion size and amazing flavours. Loved the plant based burger as well. Will always recommend if you are looking for perfect food and drinks. Their beer on tap and wine collection is worth a try too!

The food was not so good. The burger was huge but had prices of grizzle in it which made it chewy and not very palatable. The cheese slice was excessively large and not sure what kind of cheese it was but it was way too strong. The bun also fell apart while eating the burger which is annoying. The fries were great. The wings were not the best quality and had a large breaded crispy coating that wasn’t my favourite. Just too much added grease. The staff were very friendly and kind. The place itself is nice.
I would go back for a beer or a cocktail but definitely not for the food.

This salad is a wonderful construction of flavours, textures and aromas. Arugula and potatoes make up the base, decorated with sesame and pumpkin seeds, pine nuts, pickled fennel, avocado and delicious slices of smoked salmon. All of it is finished with an addicting green goddess dressing that's tangy, creamy and herby.

It was my first time here. A friend recommended us to try a cappuccino. I am not even a cappuccino drinker, but it tasted really good (just like how delicious it tastes in Asmara) ! We came kind of late and the woman working there was getting ready to shut down the coffee maker for the night, but still made us our drinks with a smile on her face, conversed, and made us feel comfortable. Excellent customer service!

Was only popping in because I was lost. Told myself it’s not bad. It’s (an Ethiopian place) have never felt more at home. People were kind, didn’t speak much English at all, but relaxing. Had a double vodka. Place was clean.
Very nice and not down my throat only to help.
Thank you!

Ordered delivery. I think the thai milk tea is too sweet and needs a stronger kick of the tea flavour.
Pineapple fried rice is very tasty and I find the way they do the shrimp is probably the best out of all Thai places I've been to in Toronto. Retains the umami flavour well.
Sticky mango rice is also great

Delicious and authentic-tasting food, with an atmosphere that brought me right back to Thailand.
We booked a reservation - and lucky we did as the restaurant was packed the whole evening. The actual restaurant environment is very Thai-esque.
Service was a bit slow in terms of getting our orders, checking in, etc. (again, very busy spot) but our food all arrived very quickly.
The portions are very generous - photos don’t really do it justice but the plates on which our mains were served were huge.
For appetizers we ordered the Thai papaya salad and the pork jowl: I am not a huge fan of pork but it was cooked perfectly and the table loved it and the accompanying sauce. The papaya salad tasted just like ones I had in Thailand, and the chips served on the side were a great touch.
As for the mains, everyone was extremely happy with their food.
Pad Ga Prao - I think this received the lowest rating from our group, but a solid 7.5/10
Pad See Ew - great reviews from the table.
King Prawn - massive prawns! Everything was perfectly cooked, could have done with a bit more flavour on the rice.
Pad Kee Mao - this is what I ordered and it surprised me how delicious it was. Of all the dishes at the table I might recommend this one most.
Each table comes with a flight of chilli sauces/oils/sugar/etc. so you can adjust your meal to your liking.
And for dessert - you MUST get the homemade ice cream here. To my dismay I’d forgotten to take a photo but the trio of unique ice cream flavours comes atop a small mount of sticky rice (which pairs much nicer than we suspected). All of us were a bit reluctant to get any dessert after a massive dinner but we all agreed it was incredible and the best thing we had all night.
All in all, I like that this place feels a bit more homey than other “rave” Thai spots in Toronto, while still delivering delicious and authentic food, and I might even come back to this one over the others (even if just for the ice cream).

What a great experience. Came here for dinner with a friend and from
The moment we stepped in you could tell it was going to be a good meal. The decor is on point. The aromas in the air great. And when it came to it, everything was delicious. The service was very attentive and courteous.

Dropped in for dinner with a couple buddies on a complete whim, and it turned to a culinary experience to remember...
We ordered the Spring Rolls & Thai Calamari to start. And the table unanimously agreed the calamari to be one of the highlights of the menu.
For the main, I ordered the Green Curry with Tofu and Veggies, and the flavour profile was complex, yet balanced.
And a Thai meal wouldn't be complete until it's capped off with Mango Coconut Sticky Rice. It wasn't too sweet, which being Asian, is the ultimate compliment...

If you’re looking for authentic Thai food, this is the place to be. I highly recommend Sala Pad Thai. Artistic presentation and superb taste. The pineapple curry is great. I was skeptical at first, and I was surprised by how delicious it was.

5 Stars – A True Gem on the Danforth!
Had an absolutely amazing dinner at Lalibela Ethiopian Restaurant on the Danforth! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by Corning and Sewa, who provided the best customer service we’ve experienced in a long time. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring – they made the whole evening extra special.
The food was incredible! We ordered the special combo, and every bite was bursting with flavour. The portion sizes were generous, and everything tasted fresh and perfectly spiced. It’s clear the kitchen puts a lot of heart into each dish.
If you’re looking for authentic Ethiopian food in Toronto with a cozy atmosphere and standout hospitality, Lalibela is the place to go. I’ll definitely be back!

I would have liked to give this place a better review but my first experience was not as great as I hoped. I love trying out other foods from other cultures but the food here did not really make that big of impression on me. The service was mediocre. The waitress appeared nice but nonchalantly lied messing up on an order. I ordered beef and was served lamb. Not realizing what I was eating which I thought was chicken, was actually lamb. Although I liked the food presentation, the flavour did not stand out for me. I would normally eat alot but was not satisfied. The first time I had minimal interest in what I was eating. I did like the furniture and traditional Ethiopian decor. Not a place I would return to, to eat in.

We ordered the platter that has most of the popular items. The chicken was pretty tasty. Four of us ate all of items on this family platter except for the beef stew(?) which did not taste bad but had a very unusual flavor that did not agree with our palate. The staple which is like a pancake with honeycomb patterns. These can be refilled if the ones on the platter rans out. Some say it looks like the beef stomach. Ordered cakes for dessert, one baklava (4/10) & carrot cake (7/10). Date: 2024-AUG-29 dinner time.

It had been a while since I last had Ethiopian food, and this experience reminded me just how much I missed it. Every bite hit the spot—flavorful, comforting, and deeply satisfying. The warm hospitality made it even more special—everyone was incredibly kind and eager to guide us through the menu with thoughtful recommendations. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. We’ll definitely be back soon!

I was recommended to come try the food by my fiancés boss, and I couldn’t be any more happier with the food. It was my first time ever having Ethiopian food and I had ordered the ChaCha (I think) and their spiced tea, which the owner had recommended. I had asked to substitute with beef instead of lamb and the meat was seasoned so well I didn’t realize there was lamb ribs also in the dish. I wasn’t even mad lol.
I’ll definitely be back

Great place.
Had the platter with Beef strips.
All tasted great and they even had Gluten free ingera (made from Teff flour).
Not spicy, could have been a little more bit.
The meat strips had great taste but were really not a good cut of meet. Tons of fat and tendons because some prices I couldn’t even tear apart.
The coffee tastes good and it was strong.
Overall good place. It’s small but cozy.

Discovered this gem and I was pleasantly surprised with the amazing food. We had veggie platter and the spiced tea. Both were amazing. The service was a little too slow and had to wait for over 20min for the food when the restaurant was empty. Other than that, it was great

Me and my daughter went out for dinner at The Wren. Excellent food and great service. Wide variety of craft beer on tap I had the Dwayne and Josh double burger it was honestly one of the best burgers I have had in a long time. It came with fries which were hand cut and cooked perfectly. The staff were friendly and efficient. Oh yes and we had the Mozza sticks which were hand made and breaded nice presentation on a bed of very tasty sauce for dipping. Great casual atmosphere.

There are lots of “best burgers in Toronto” and “best chicken sandwich in Toronto” but when someone tells you about the Wren, believe them. This place has the perfect combo of great food, service and vibes. It’s a totally unpretentious spot serving up some of the best food you’ll have. Even the fries on the side are perfectly seasoned. Today we shared a burger and a fried chicken sandwich and were blown away. I wanted a lemonade, which they don’t have on the menu but very graciously made for me - that was incredible as well. After just one visit we know this will be one of our routine spots.

Went for 2nd the time ever because their burgers were so good!. It was not busy on Sunday evening but also been on a weeknight around 9pm and it was packed. Service was exceptional and the burger change every few weeks or so. Would also recommend the chocolate cake, very scrumptious but wished there was ice cream instead of the whip cream. Will be back again!

NO RESERVATIONS. Came here on a Sunday evening at around 7:15pm and waited 5 minutes for a table for 3.
This place has been on my list for a very long time as their menu is always changing. This is owned by the same people as Lake Inez and The Wood Owl next door. Super casual vibes and service was exceptional! I ordered the McChopped Cheese which was good, but obviously it didn't hit the same as the one I recently had from NYC. I also got to try the Monday I'm in Love Burger and the Steak Frites. Everything was really good and it came with a generous portion of fries. We also finished with the Chocolate Stout Cake which was not too rich and sweet. I only wished it came with ice cream instead of whipped cream.
Highly recommend and would come back. Would also recommend the Wood Owl next door for something less casual.

The reviews are indeed too good to be true. The bar is really nice and so are the drinks but the food was just absolutely mediocre if not below average.
We got the Pork Carnitas and the Honey! You Won’t Bee-lieve it burger. The pork was bland and dry and the salsa just water-y and tasteless. The staff was really kind and took it off our bill. The burger was fine as well, nothing crazy.
I would come here for the drinks and not the food. Loved the apple cider - absolutely delicious but a little pricey for what you’re getting.
Just a shout to let you know that the kitchen closed around 9:40.

Came here on a Friday after work. Was quite empty so we were seated right away. For 2 people we ordered a Wazema platter for one and the cha cha tibs. Food looks very appetizing IMO. The platter comes with a lot of different veggies and 2 types of meat. The veggies were great, really enjoyed the different curried lentils and cabbage. The meats were okay too didn’t enjoy it as much but still good. The cha cha tibs was lamb I believe with some onions and peppers that came on a sizzling plate that was poured onto our wazema platter which was all on a big piece of injera. Everything came with a bunch of extra injera. The cha cha tibs I was a little disappointed in and wouldn’t get again. Not much flavor to the meat, and it was kind of hard and chewy. This was also $25 compared to the platter which was $22. If I was to come back I would just get the platter again as it was filling and had a variety of good flavors. Wait time was still about 15-20 minutes when the restaurant was quite empty.

Great place to try Ethiopian food for the first time! My personal favourites were the Cha Cha Tibs and Doro Wat. Their menu has a ton of variety and everything tasted great. Be aware that this spot turns into a club/lounge after 10pm and you can only be seated if you purchase bottle service. Going forward I’d definitely come earlier in the day since the music was a little too loud and the lights were too dim for me to fully enjoy the food. I’d also recommend keeping your group 4-5 people as it gets difficult to share off one plate passed that.

This was my first experience with Ethiopian food and I really liked it. The Injera bread was so different and such an experience to be grabbing each bite with this. We ordered a mixed plate and even though I didn't know what each thing was, I just knew all the flavors were different and delicious. One mixed plate is good for 4-5 people.

For me, Habesha (Ethiopian, Eritrean) food is comfort food (par excellence). It never fails to bring joy in happiness or consolation in sadness. Such was the case with Wazema Ethiopian Restaurant. From the first moment, I was greeted with joy by the waitress Kal. She took the time to review the menu together and took the initiative to make a few adjustments to the Wazema Platter to accommodate my tastes in meat and vegetables. Seeing my interest in Ethiopian art & music, Kal explained the meaning behind the various works of art on the walls (especially the stunning stained glass-like works of Afewerk Tekle - አፈወርቅ ተክሌ). The food itself was prepared to perfection. The meat was well-seasoned, tender, wonderful texture; the vegetables were subtle and delicate. The injera, itself, struck a wonderful balance - neither too sour, nor bland - just right. At the end of the meal, Kal further spoke about the beauty of Ethiopia: Axum, Lalibela, Gondar, Ras Dashen.
My 2 hours at Wazema Ethiopian Restaurant were a taste of paradise. May God grant that I return, and that everyone may go to discover this treasure.
Thank you Kal, thank you wait staff, thank you chefs - አመሰግናለሁ
