Pretty good Mexican food in a really fun environment. Stopped by for lunch and got the tacos aguilenos, tacos adobados, and guacamole. Both tacos had a fair amount of meat and the mole was tasty and earthy. The guacamole meanwhile was rich and smooth. Food was a bit pricey for the portion sizes but everything is expensive these days.
The star of the show though was the place and the people. Decor and music were so colorfully vibrant, and the people were so welcoming and kind. This place definitely has a great vibe!

Came to visit right after the restaurant opened, skipped all the rush hours. The entire restaurant had a very homely atmosphere. Food was tasty and the portions were so great!!
Food was amazing, we ordered guacamole to start and a veggie platter for two shared among the three of us and it was more than sufficient amount of food. The owner/server was so friendly and got everything very quick. Food was fresh and I would highly recommend anyone who wants to try authentic mexican food. It’s close to the subway and you will not be disappointed!

Food is excellent, but if they are busy, may be long wait for food. To avoid that, we usually get here by 6:30 pm. The chicken tamale very tasty. Sangria was okay. The meat platter for 2 very good, more than enough food. Friendly service, Thank you!

First off the location is easy to get to, being steps from Coxwell station and right on Danforth at street level. There's plenty of seating inside and the vibe is super colorful with many masks lining the walls.
Price wise costs were higher than expected, but portions are very generous and dishes are heavy/filling. For example, at dinner, a meal for two combo was enough food for 3 people (we got the meat plate option).
I liked that tons of fresh veggies/ salad was used for the tacos which tasted homemade and not greasy. The only qualm I had was with the beef being overcooked (dry and hard) for our beef tacos. Otherwise everything was great, flavourful and I'd come back!

This place is amazing! The atmosphere was really cozy and nice. The food tasted great and came in huge portions, definitely worth the price. The enchiladas with mole was delicious (spicy just the way I like it) and the rice and beans were yummy too. The service was also great, the waitress was very kind and accommodating to me. Definitely coming back here!

Food was good. Service was even better. We nearly walked right on by because the food pictured on the sign wasn't especially appealing (note to owner: considering changing your sign and getting new photos). But we were crunched for time so we went with it and glad we did. The staff were all absolutely lovely. And the food was all very good. Not the best I've ever eaten, but good flavors and solid for the price. Eating at the tables on the sidewalk was an added bonus on a beautiful summer evening.

Tried Morgan’s Burger and wow… easily one of the best burgers I’ve had! Juicy, perfectly cooked patty with so much flavor, and the bun was super soft but held together well. The toppings were fresh and balanced, not over the top. Honestly, I’d come back just for that burger alone.

Cozy restaurant. Really tasty food. The chicken wings are incredible. The soup is amazing. The parmesan fries are delicious too 🤤🤤🤤. The staff are friendly and quick service too. Highly recommend!

Great atmosphere and delicious food! We love visiting for a quick bite or a nice dinner. The warm lentil salad is a nice light entree, but the ricotta gnocchi are too die for! So pillowy and indulgent! The fish and chips are also so great staple.

Best cocktails. Love the ambience. The General Manager and chefs make sure you have a great time with food. Tiramisu pancakes on their brunch menu are the highlight. Great portion size and amazing flavours. Loved the plant based burger as well. Will always recommend if you are looking for perfect food and drinks. Their beer on tap and wine collection is worth a try too!

Came here for my friend’s birthday and pleased to say we had a great time :).
We ordered the Tom yum soup (10/10), Tom yum pad Thai (7.5/10) and Pad Ga Prao (7/10). The pad thai was great but the shrimp was not as flavourful as I hoped for however still was good. Pad ga prao was so excited for but the chicken was a bit too dry. I was a bit disappointed but the customer service was just so amazing I would definitely come back to try some of their other dishes.
Oh and the best part was definitely the Thai iced tea and thai iced green tea - probably some of the best I’ve ever had! If you love matcha you the Thai iced green tea will not disappoint.

Rich and bright flavors, this Danforth spot stands out. The Thai iced tea was thick and rich. Probably some of the best I've had. The short rib was tender and fall-apart. I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area.

One of the best local Thai res in Toronto. Their staff is so cute and the food is quite authentic. Highly rcm papaya salad, shrimp
Chips with chilli paste, Sala special pad thai and pork belly laab.

Delicious and authentic-tasting food, with an atmosphere that brought me right back to Thailand.
We booked a reservation - and lucky we did as the restaurant was packed the whole evening. The actual restaurant environment is very Thai-esque.
Service was a bit slow in terms of getting our orders, checking in, etc. (again, very busy spot) but our food all arrived very quickly.
The portions are very generous - photos don’t really do it justice but the plates on which our mains were served were huge.
For appetizers we ordered the Thai papaya salad and the pork jowl: I am not a huge fan of pork but it was cooked perfectly and the table loved it and the accompanying sauce. The papaya salad tasted just like ones I had in Thailand, and the chips served on the side were a great touch.
As for the mains, everyone was extremely happy with their food.
Pad Ga Prao - I think this received the lowest rating from our group, but a solid 7.5/10
Pad See Ew - great reviews from the table.
King Prawn - massive prawns! Everything was perfectly cooked, could have done with a bit more flavour on the rice.
Pad Kee Mao - this is what I ordered and it surprised me how delicious it was. Of all the dishes at the table I might recommend this one most.
Each table comes with a flight of chilli sauces/oils/sugar/etc. so you can adjust your meal to your liking.
And for dessert - you MUST get the homemade ice cream here. To my dismay I’d forgotten to take a photo but the trio of unique ice cream flavours comes atop a small mount of sticky rice (which pairs much nicer than we suspected). All of us were a bit reluctant to get any dessert after a massive dinner but we all agreed it was incredible and the best thing we had all night.
All in all, I like that this place feels a bit more homey than other “rave” Thai spots in Toronto, while still delivering delicious and authentic food, and I might even come back to this one over the others (even if just for the ice cream).

5 Stars – A True Gem on the Danforth!
Had an absolutely amazing dinner at Lalibela Ethiopian Restaurant on the Danforth! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by Corning and Sewa, who provided the best customer service we’ve experienced in a long time. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring – they made the whole evening extra special.
The food was incredible! We ordered the special combo, and every bite was bursting with flavour. The portion sizes were generous, and everything tasted fresh and perfectly spiced. It’s clear the kitchen puts a lot of heart into each dish.
If you’re looking for authentic Ethiopian food in Toronto with a cozy atmosphere and standout hospitality, Lalibela is the place to go. I’ll definitely be back!

What an amazing experience. for my second time trying habesha cuisine, this place knocked it out the ball park. Very kind employees with a vibrant atmosphere. The food was seasoned amazingly and the coffee was out of this world. If you’re looking to dine at this place, the injera is where it’s at!

I would have liked to give this place a better review but my first experience was not as great as I hoped. I love trying out other foods from other cultures but the food here did not really make that big of impression on me. The service was mediocre. The waitress appeared nice but nonchalantly lied messing up on an order. I ordered beef and was served lamb. Not realizing what I was eating which I thought was chicken, was actually lamb. Although I liked the food presentation, the flavour did not stand out for me. I would normally eat alot but was not satisfied. The first time I had minimal interest in what I was eating. I did like the furniture and traditional Ethiopian decor. Not a place I would return to, to eat in.
Evie de Vida - 7 months ago
We ordered the platter that has most of the popular items. The chicken was pretty tasty. Four of us ate all of items on this family platter except for the beef stew(?) which did not taste bad but had a very unusual flavor that did not agree with our palate. The staple which is like a pancake with honeycomb patterns. These can be refilled if the ones on the platter rans out. Some say it looks like the beef stomach. Ordered cakes for dessert, one baklava (4/10) & carrot cake (7/10). Date: 2024-AUG-29 dinner time.

I was recommended to come try the food by my fiancés boss, and I couldn’t be any more happier with the food. It was my first time ever having Ethiopian food and I had ordered the ChaCha (I think) and their spiced tea, which the owner had recommended. I had asked to substitute with beef instead of lamb and the meat was seasoned so well I didn’t realize there was lamb ribs also in the dish. I wasn’t even mad lol.
I’ll definitely be back

Great place.
Had the platter with Beef strips.
All tasted great and they even had Gluten free ingera (made from Teff flour).
Not spicy, could have been a little more bit.
The meat strips had great taste but were really not a good cut of meet. Tons of fat and tendons because some prices I couldn’t even tear apart.
The coffee tastes good and it was strong.
Overall good place. It’s small but cozy.

Got the ChaCha, which is charbroiled beef tender seasoned with spices, onion, garlic, red pepper, green pepper, ginger, rosemary, served with Injera and green salad. I wasn't so familiar with this cuisine or how to order, so I didn't know my order would just be the meat and none of the other sauce things would come with it. Oh well. That's too bad, because I didn't really get a chance to truly taste this cuisine. Had a great time though, but the food took a really long time to come out, and the meat was a bit too hard for me.

I've been here many times over the years, always flavorful food. Veggie platters and doro wat are great staples and cant go wrong with them. Visited recently and im not sure if it was the portions but didn't feel like there was that much protein compared to every other visit, but they've been great everytime before so I'd overlook it.
The thing that annoyed me was the service, which has usually been the weakest point. We asked for extra plates/utensils and waited for what felt like 10 mins just to remind them to provide it for us... improvements to these things would elevate the experience here.

Had lunch at The Wren sitting on their patio was a summer day dream!! We will be coming back.
What we ate and ratings (check out pictures)
Mozza sticks 6/5 - they are large, crunchy, and the tomato base will make you moan.
Vegan taco crunch with salad side 5/5 - salad was crunchy and crispy. The taco crunch held together! You will not miss the meat, the tofu + lentil ‘meat’ are full of flavour!
Crispy chicken sandwich with fries 5/5 - fries are flavoured with an ‘all dressing’ season, very delicious! The sandwich had extra crispy chicken, loads of flavour with a touch of honey.
Stout chocolate cake 5/5 - the cake is airy and rich at the same time, and super playful! Just a great chocolate cake!
What we didn’t get, but will come back for
- their hamburger
- Karaage chicken
- Friday seafood specials
Our sever recommended we follow The Wren’s Instagram for daily specials!! I highly recommend The Wren! Excited to go back!!
Special note to the kitchen: Thank you, you talented humans!!! But a big thanks for bringing actual crispy chicken to The Danforth! Genius!

Me and my daughter went out for dinner at The Wren. Excellent food and great service. Wide variety of craft beer on tap I had the Dwayne and Josh double burger it was honestly one of the best burgers I have had in a long time. It came with fries which were hand cut and cooked perfectly. The staff were friendly and efficient. Oh yes and we had the Mozza sticks which were hand made and breaded nice presentation on a bed of very tasty sauce for dipping. Great casual atmosphere.

We visited The Wren on a Tuesday, and it completely lived up to — and even exceeded — all the hype. The burger, salad, and wrap we ordered were all amazing, with the burger being an absolute standout (seriously, to die for).
Our waitress, Hailey, made the experience even better. She was super friendly and helpful, especially when I couldn’t decide on a beer — she offered samples so I could find the perfect one. Little things like that make a big difference!
The vibe was welcoming, the food was top-notch, and the service was spot-on. We’ll absolutely be back — already planning to come again on a Monday to see what that’s like. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed my experience here however there were little things that kept throwing me off. First the stain in the cup was a little gross and I asked if we could get it changed and the waiter just brushed it off so we just ended up using it. Our waiter also seemed like she didn’t wanna be there completely and it was a little strange. The food however was really good and I loved the steak, super juicy. Fries were also very good but a little too salty. Food was a tiny bit cold when we got it though

Came here on a Friday after work. Was quite empty so we were seated right away. For 2 people we ordered a Wazema platter for one and the cha cha tibs. Food looks very appetizing IMO. The platter comes with a lot of different veggies and 2 types of meat. The veggies were great, really enjoyed the different curried lentils and cabbage. The meats were okay too didn’t enjoy it as much but still good. The cha cha tibs was lamb I believe with some onions and peppers that came on a sizzling plate that was poured onto our wazema platter which was all on a big piece of injera. Everything came with a bunch of extra injera. The cha cha tibs I was a little disappointed in and wouldn’t get again. Not much flavor to the meat, and it was kind of hard and chewy. This was also $25 compared to the platter which was $22. If I was to come back I would just get the platter again as it was filling and had a variety of good flavors. Wait time was still about 15-20 minutes when the restaurant was quite empty.

This was my first experience with Ethiopian food and I really liked it. The Injera bread was so different and such an experience to be grabbing each bite with this. We ordered a mixed plate and even though I didn't know what each thing was, I just knew all the flavors were different and delicious. One mixed plate is good for 4-5 people.
