Had an early Sunday dinner at Terroni Adelaide before a concert at Massey Hall and it was a great pre-show spot. The restaurant is set inside a former 1852 courthouse, with soaring ceilings and a beautiful atrium. Even the washrooms are downstairs in old jail cells, which is a fun little surprise.
We shared the Calamari alla Griglia to start, fresh and nicely balanced. My date had the Spaghetti in Canna a Mare. It was labelled mildly spicy but definitely had some heat, though the flavours were great. I ordered the Ravioli al Brasato, which was delicious but the portion was on the smaller side. I could have eaten a few more ravioli and been perfectly happy.
We finished with tiramisu, plus an amaro for me and zambuca for my date. Service was friendly, though drinks were a bit slow coming out. The place filled up quickly but never felt chaotic.
Beautiful space, solid Italian food, and a great option downtown, especially before a show.

We went to Terroni for a work lunch and wow was the food ever amazing. I will say they have few vegan options, but plenty vegetarian options. I had the butternut squash ravioli which was divine. Often I find Italian restaurants are stingy when it comes to ravioli, but Terroni was quite generous. I loved the bread they brought out at the beginning. Our server was very helpful and kind. The food came out at breakneck speed. I was genuinely shocked. Dessert was also scrumptious. Highly recommend the chocolate torta, though it is a bit pricey for the size.
As far as accessibility, there are stairs to get up to the entrances, many people waiting indoors, far distances to walk to tables, and tables were quite close together.

The waitstaff was extremely friendly, the atmosphere was nice, of a upscale dining experience. The food came out quickly and was delicious, only comment is the portion size which was a little on the smaller side. Would recommend the Verte salad, amazing vinaigrette delicious overall.

I had just come back from Italy, and this restaurant fed the piece of me that wants to go back. Everything was flavourful and authentic. The building is so grand and interesting, I don’t think I fully experienced it even with a trip to the bathroom. You have to order the caprese di bufula to start.
Debbie Hernandez - 3 months ago
An amazing setting for a very authentic dining experience. We ate as a group in what appeared to be a great hall or ballroom upstairs. There were 4 fireplaces and balconies overhanging our tables. Dark but fascinating decor throughout the building. The menu made everything sound very appealing. We had the lemon calamari, fungi salad, papparadelle and tagliatelle bolognese. The calamari was unremarkable and not distinguishable from pub fare. The funghi assolute, though, was very interesting, with a crisp, meaty feeling balanced by the arugula and balsamic. The papparadelle alla iosa was also very authentic, with a lovely, toothy mouth feel to the perfectly al dente noodles and a homemade, Nonna flavour to the sausage and sauce. The menu describes it as "spicy sauasge" but there was minimal, if any, heat to it. Still quite tasty.
Definitely an interesting and authentic Italian option in downtown.

I came here for a corporate dinner, so the bill wasn’t on me this time — and I’m glad I had the chance to give it a try. The food was really good quality with great flavors, though I was hoping for something a little more memorable for the prices on the menu.
Everything was nicely prepared, but nothing really stood out or melted in my mouth — except for the white chocolate cheesecake, which was absolutely amazing!
The service was exceptional. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and knew the menu very well. The ambiance was lovely too, with nice lighting and a relaxed feel throughout the restaurant. Overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience, though I’m not sure I’d personally splurge on those prices if it were on my own tab.

Jump is one of my favourite Oliver & Bonacini restaurants and have been here countless of times. Every time I need to impress friends and families, this is the place to be.
Tried to come here again for their Summerlicious and everything is spot on - from the delicious food, attentive server, and modern and stylish restaurant decor.
The restaurant is beautiful, creating a welcoming and elegant atmosphere.
Every dish here looks like a work of art, with its vibrant colours and artful arrangement.
The roast beef sandwich was deliciously juicy and tender. My friends raved about this sandwich and enjoyed it so much. The roasted Atlantic salmon with couscous was flakey and moist.
The coconut panna cotta is probably one of the best panna cotta we've ever tried. Everything is perfect with this dessert - soft velvety texture, creamy but not overly rich and just a hint of sweetness.
It can be a little bit busy during lunch hour and noise levels are often higher. But it's not physically painfully loud that you can't hear your dining companions.
We had a wonderful dining experience and would definitely return.

I had a fantastic experience at Jump Restaurant for their Valentine’s Day menu. The food was incredible—every dish was well-prepared and full of flavor. The cocktails were just as impressive, perfectly balanced and refreshing.
The service was quick, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing, which made the whole evening even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a great night with amazing food and drinks, and I’ll definitely be coming back!

First time at Jump and we had a lovely time. The service was excellent! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed cocktails to start along with the Heritage Beet Salad which was so flavorful! We ordered scallops and lamb. Both were delicious in their own right. We moved over to the bar area to end our night with a few more drinks. Highly recommend Jump!

What a gorgeous hidden spot in the heart of downtown! My wife brought me here to celebrate a key milestone in our lives and this place was just perfect.
Firstly, the staff is extremely courteous and accommodate for varied requests. Starting with table selection, since we were there with our baby boy in a stroller and we requested for patio in our reservation, they took us out to the patio and asked us to choose which table would be most comfortable. We chose the perfect spot with great views and a light breeze. I had to change my baby’s diaper, so when I requested for the baby changing room, he immediately eacorted me to the accessible washroom and brought in a table to ensure I had everything with me to change the diaper. This shows how much they care about the comfort of the customers. Our server would keep checking in on us and would be quick with all our orders and requests.
Secondly, the vibe and the ambience were so comforting that we lost the track of time. I highly recommend the patio, even though while you are arriving, you may think it will be noisy since it is close to Yonge Street but their patio design keeps the area quite silent.
Finally, the food was excellent overall with some opportunities for improvement in their desserts - selection and their sweetness.
Overall, absolutely loved it here and will be back for sure. Thank you team Jump! Keep up your amazing hospitality!

Went for drinks with a few of people. You pay for the atmosphere here. It is pretty pricey. Drinks costing about $24 and were average to below average for that regardless of price. . The restaurant itself is stunning with panoramic views of the Toronto Skyline high on the 54th floor. service was impeccable overall great atmosphere and a nice place to lounge or go on a date

Our recent dining experience at Canoe was exceptional. We began the evening in the bar area for cocktails before being escorted to the main dining room, where we were seated at a window table offering remarkable views of downtown Toronto.
The cuisine was both delicious and artfully presented. Our group commenced the meal with appetizers of burrata, beet salad and warm sourdough bread with butter. All of which were simply exquisite. For the main course, we selected the tuna and the lamb. These dishes were elegantly plated, with the exceptional taste serving as the only true rival to their visual appeal. To accompany our entrées, we enjoyed the pommes frites served with truffle mayonnaise, which was a superb complement to our meal. Dessert offered a perfect conclusion, with our selections including the cheese plate, white chocolate cheesecake, and screeched tarte au sucre, paired with Port and Scotch. The service, however, was perhaps the most distinguished element of the evening, thanks to our server, Stephen. He provided an elevated dining experience from start to finish, demonstrating an impressive knowledge of food and wine. Stephen managed our requests with professionalism and remarkable ease, all while engaging us in conversation on various topics with a refreshing and engaging sense of humor. It was a memorable and truly first-class evening.

We ordered the striploin, medium rare. The cook on this was strange almost like sous vide, it didnt bring out any flavour of the steak and was very gristley - I took the rest home and pan fried it and immediately tasted way better and the gristles were not a problem either. For $90 I expected this dish to be more sucessful, the potatoe pave was not cripsy and smushed together. We enjoyed the burrata and beets appetizer, interesting presenation. I got the meringue, which looked beautiful, but the taste could be improved. We were celebrating a birthday and they gave us a card but could not even comp one of desserts. I guess you really just come here for the view (which we came on a rainy day) food did not wow for the price.

THEY KNOW WHAT THEY’RE DOING
It was my Birthday and everything was Just Exquisite. Even though the vibes was just casual The Service and the Food And the View just made it feel like I’m Living my Carrie Bradshaw Fantasy.
The Kale Pesto buratta with toasted Sourdough. iconic Plate. Simple, Flavorful and just Correct.
It was a Play of Texture which is always a Vibe
The Charcuterie board was Great, its a Charcuterie board, we were expecting cheese though. But it was really good, although i feel like Its much easier to eat the olives if they were Pitted- maybe just a Preference
The OYSTER is very fresh it melts in your Mouth and its just that Good. Especially with the Sriracha sauce.
White chocolate cheesecake with raspberry sorbet and Pistachio creme.
SEXY! the balance between the tartness of the sorbet the cuts through the sweetness of the cheesecake and grounding the flavor with the Nuttiness of the Pistachio . CHEFS KISS
All In all COMPLIMENTS TO THE CHEF IS NOT ENOUGH ITS THAT GOOD.

I had an outstanding dining experience at Canoe in the TD building. From the moment you step off the elevator, the atmosphere is elevated by breathtaking views of downtown Toronto. The setting feels refined yet welcoming, making it perfect for both business dinners and special occasions.
The service was exceptional—attentive, knowledgeable, and perfectly paced. The staff took the time to explain the menu highlights and made excellent wine pairing recommendations, which really enhanced the meal.
The food itself was creative and beautifully presented. Each dish showcased fresh Canadian ingredients prepared with precision and artistry. The flavors were balanced and memorable, from the appetizers to the main course.

We made a reservation for a group gathering and we were offered the private dining room that fits 15 people. The private room is a perfect fit for corporate/friends/family gatherings with minimum $800 spending requirement. It offers a great private spit where you can enjoy friendly chat and delicious food and drinks.
The service is friendly and reliable and the menu offers great variety of shareable, handhelds and entrées.

Great atmosphere with a beautiful view of the kitchen. Menu was fresh and well designed with great flavourful dishes. The drink menu was a bit hard to navigate due to its insane number of options, but the waitress was a great resource. Service is four stars because the waitress didn't notice a drink being spilled requiring a bit of a clean up, but other than that I would definately recommend!

What a charming restaurant. Great ambiance when you enter. Wonderful upscale touches throughout. Great menu. Highly recommend the fondue for an appetizer. We also got the poutine...they have a little different twist on it . So so good! Our food was good. The steak was covered in a sauce which we were are not quite accustomed to and in our opinion the meat could have used a little more seasoning. The fish tacos were marvelous. The slaw on the fish taco is the best I have tasted. It added great flavor and texture to the taco. The fish in the taco was well seasoned and succulent. They have the best coffee and some really nice desserts. We enjoyed this establishment.

Everything we tried was so good but the sticky toffee pudding was certainly the star here. Had a great chat with one of the servers to learn more about how things had changed in the area since Covid.

Absolutely loved our visit. We stopped for dinner a few days ago. Everything was great, from the service to the food.
Especially I would love to highlight the service- Our server, Kelly, was absolutely awesome!! She constantly checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. Her recommendation on a great selection of beers and food was amazing.
Prices are moderate, considering the quality and service. Highly recommended!

Amazing place. Staff could be a bit more courteous but not reducing a star for that. The selection of drinks are super amazing and the food tastes extremely good for being pub food. Will surely visit again and put more photos. Don't mistake this cool place for your regular brash Irish pubs. It is much much more cooler and high end.

Stopped in here for a quick bite (9:30pm), they were busy but overall seated quickly. The server took our order and brought our food within a reasonable time. Food and drinks were ok overall not bad place to stop in for a pint or a quick bite but unsure of their menu choice as they had I believe butter chicken as one of their specials? I could be wrong as it was a few weeks back since I ate there but I know it wasn’t really along that “typical” pub menu which isn’t bad just not expected..overall not bad at all.
Anthony Dee - 6 years ago
They’re kind of expected to have great Guinness and they didn’t disappoint - smooth and crisp.
We had the fish and chips and the crocodile bites. Gotta day, the fish was great but the crocodile bites were amazing! Never thought of trying it before, but I’m glad I did. The crocodile is a lunch special, so you may not see it all the time but it’s definitely worth trying if you do.
Staff was friendly and attentive, but not to a point of being annoying - just enough check in for fresh drinks.
The dining area was clean and the TVs didn’t have their volume cranked which is a nice change. Just enough class for a business lunch without feeling stuffy.

Very good traditional Irish pub faire and a fun atmosphere! The drinks are priced reasonably and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Worth the trip! Plan on spending some time to unwind and enjoy a good conversation, food and drinks with friends!

The food is always amazing here, every time I'm in Toronto I need to visit! Atmosphere is more like a sports bar though as it's very loud and filled with people drinking after work. Myself and my husband couldn't hear each other talking so I wouldn't recommend it for an intimate dinner but the food is always worth putting up with the atmosphere. I've had many different dishes here but the fish and chips are incredible!

you're going to find a very classy and groovy vibe in this jazz bar. what an amazing experience!
we were there on friday january 9th for shane philips; him and the band are such gems! the music had lots of people joining the dance floor, and it was so refreshing to be somewhere with a crowd that didn't just stand and look at their phones (personal peeve of mine😅). the crowd was very respectful. everyone was dressed well for the venue and you could tell they were really there for the music 😌
the food and service were a bit lacklustre (it seemed our server had a big section that was quickly sat all at once), but it is not the main event. i did enjoy their oysters though! the drinks were great and my partner really enjoyed their lychee mocktail.
i would 100% recommend making a reservation as it gets busy early on. i received prompt replies to my email request (contacted through their website) and during opening hours i was able to make a phone call to make a change to my reso. be advised there is a cash only cover charge at the door (ours was $15 per person).
the last time i was here was a couple years ago, and returning on friday night made me realize what i've been missing out on. i will definitely be coming back.

We went to this jazz bar to celebrate a birthday, and it was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere was incredible — smooth live jazz, cozy lighting, and the perfect vibe for a special night out. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The staff were attentive and friendly, making the whole experience seamless. From the drinks to the music to the overall ambiance, everything felt carefully curated and welcoming. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to for celebrations or just a great night out with friends! 🍸🎶🎷

We had a fantastic time at this lounge—it’s the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a great evening. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance stood out: stylish, modern, and effortlessly relaxing. The lighting, music, and overall vibe created a laid-back yet upscale atmosphere that made it easy to settle in. There’s was cover fee $10p/p at the front which goes to the band, definitely worth it.
The service was top-notch. The staff was professional, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. A special Thank you to the front desk staff who helped us get the best seats❤️
They made great recommendations and ensured our experience was smooth from start to finish.
The drink menu was impressive, with a wide variety of wines, and premium spirits as well as non alcoholic drinks. 🍹🍷🍻
We especially enjoyed the oysters 🦪 which was perfectly balanced and refreshing. There was also plenty of delicious small plates and bites that paired beautifully with our drinks.
Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. Great service, amazing food, and a lovely setting—what more could you ask for? 💎

Cool and unique place. Food is very medium and both selection and quality is on poor side. Service is friendly but slow, probably because the place is too packed. Live music is fantastic and the atmosphere is generally great.

While in search of a jazz/blues bar near the Eaton Centre, we came across The Reservoir Lounge. And boy, are we glad we did!
Seating wasn’t available without a reservation, but we got there about 30 mins before the show started and got a great standing spot at the bar.
Cover charge at the door (I think it was $15 a person), free coat check was available, and the bar service was pretty good considering how busy it was.
The drinks were just okay, my old fashioned was weak, but who cares when the music and the atmosphere breaks the scale! Definitely a must-try while in Toronto

Took my mom for a birthday lunch at this restaurant. We had the winterlicious menu and everything was perfect! From the initial greeting at door, to the 2 complimentary glasses of bubbly, the service was impeccable and the food was amazing. They even added a candle to her dessert. Love this restaurant! Highly recommend!

The restaurant has reopened after a renovation and a minor relocation—just one door closer to Yonge Street. The same great ambiance remains, along with very good service. Music is pleasant and not too loud.
PEI Oysters
During happy hour (4–6 pm), oysters are half price. If you love oysters, this alone can make your day.
Steak Tartare (main course)
Hand-chopped beef tenderloin with egg yolk, marinated onion, cornichons, Biff’s mustard, and sourdough toasts. Overall, it was good—the mustard added some mild, zesty notes. That said, the dish could have used a bit more saltiness from capers or anchovies, and the toast wasn’t crunchy enough to provide a strong textural contrast.
Tenderloin Steak with frites, green beans, and Béarnaise sauce
Cooked properly to a medium-rare doneness. However, the red wine jus added a noticeable bitterness to both the beef and the beans. The combination of flavors wasn’t ideal, although the quality of the beef itself was excellent.
Crème Brûlée with strawberry
A very nice dessert—arguably one of the most French desserts of all (despite Basque claims to its origin). This was a solid example, though not a perfect one.
Conclusion
Overall, it’s a nice place with good service, great ambiance, and quite decent French cuisine. While not flawless, it’s a strong choice for a pre-theater dinner before performances at Canadian Stage, Toronto Operetta Theatre, or concerts at Meridian Hall and other nearby venues.

We celebrated my birthday on New Year’s Eve at Biff’s Bistro and had a fantastic experience.
The NYE prix fixe was excellent for the variety offered. We ordered the steak tartare and scallops to start, added escargot, followed by bœuf bourguignon and cod, and finished with cheesecake and crème brûlée — every dish was well executed, classic French bistro cooking, and perfectly paced.
Service was warm, professional, and attentive without feeling rushed, which is especially impressive on such a busy night.
A classy, relaxed way to ring in the New Year and celebrate a birthday. We’ll absolutely be back.

The food at Biff’s Bistro was good.
The French Onion Soup was good and delicious soup.
The Steak Frites was good. The steak was nicely cooked medium rare and had good seasoning.
One downside was that service was on the slow side. Had to skip dessert on the 3 course menu :(

Did winterlicious here for lunch and it was fantastic!! We got sashimi for apps (small but delicious, my fave was the scallop), entree of sushi and cod both were fresh and fantastic. Finished off with matcha panna cotta which was very matcha forward (yay), but in my opinion the gold is superfluous so I just scraped it off. Will definitely come back!!

Outstanding experience. Went back for the Tasting Menu twice in a week! Authentic, fresh, delicious, well presented dishes. Much of the fish was flown in from Japan. The black cod was so flavorful, fresh and tender. Tomo’s unique yuzu ice cream is not to be missed! The staff are all gracious, welcoming, and friendly. They are also very conscientious about any food allergies. Highly recommended!

Visited Wednesday 5pm or happy hour, that is from 5-7pm. Greeted by friendly and efficient staff who speak Japanese and was considerate at my poor Japanese. Don't worry they speak English too. A very nice set up, quite and well decorated. Evenings are apparently, quite and they have more customers at lunch time that makes sense given their location. I went with the fried chicken and found it was delicious. Decent pieces of chicken and professionally cooked and served. There were a number of beverages available for happy hour including a nice selection of different sake. The green tea was also tasty. The prices were to be expected so the discount during happy hour was appreciated.

This restaurant is located downtown Toronto. They have a bit of everything but seems like they specialize in brunch on weekends.
They have sandwiches, salads, benedicts, pastas and classic breakfast style dishes. They also serve mimosas, cocktails, coffee, tea and desserts.
The food is average and over priced for what you're getting. The drinks and desserts are good though with normal prices.
Service is also pretty average. The decor is nice and they have a patio but other than that, this restaurant is pretty average, at least for brunch.
If you're looking for brunch, I would suggest Chez Cora's over this restaurant. They've about the same quality but without the high price point and they have several more locations also.

Hothouse Restaurant is a truly great surprise right in the heart of downtown Toronto. I’ve often walked by, wondering what was inside, and finally checking it out was the best decision.
We visited during the Thanksgiving weekend and were thrilled to find they offered an all-you-can-eat menu, which is such a nice perk to have right in the core of the city. The options were extensive and thoughtful, spanning both the savory and sweet sides of the buffet, leaving us completely satisfied.
The service here is reliably good, but the atmosphere truly shines, especially since we were treated to live music on the Sunday we visited. The drinks also impressed; the Earl Grey mimosas are a must-try—I absolutely loved that unique, fragrant twist on the classic.
However, the reason I will be rushing back is singular: the house bread pudding. There are simply not enough words to describe how rich, comforting, and perfectly delicious that single bite was. It genuinely blew my mind. This dessert is a masterpiece, and I would return for that perfect bite alone, without any doubt.
Hothouse is a vibrant, welcoming spot that offers excellent value and an atmosphere that elevates the dining experience. Go for the live tunes, stay for the mimosas, but whatever you do, save room for the bread pudding.

Hot House has always had good food, and I’ve visited several times over the years. The quality has been consistent, and I especially liked their pizzas — they were always fresh and flavorful.
However, during my last visit, I was told they no longer had pizza available, which was disappointing. The service that day was also not as friendly or welcoming as usual, and it really affected the overall experience for me. Because of that, I haven’t gone back since.
It’s a place with good food, but I hope the service and menu consistency improve in the future.

Came to HotHouse last weekend for dinner to celebrate a homecoming! Although we had requested our favourite server Jesse when booking the reservation, we were left in good hands with Aishwarya. Started with a martini and calamari and had a delicious gnocchi recommended by our server, all accompanied by a great bottle of wine. The halloumi sandwich was also yummy. We wanted to try the tiramisu but we were sooo full; next time!

Had a really great lunch here and enjoyed watching some sports while we ate — a nice bonus! We tried the bangers and mash, which were absolutely delicious — the onion gravy had excellent flavor and tied the whole dish together. The fish and chips were also very good — perfectly crispy without being greasy. Service was friendly and efficient, and the overall atmosphere was laid-back and comfortable. Definitely a place I'd come back to!

Visited this establishment while staying at the Novotel across the street. Really impressed. We ordered 4 burger sliders, pita chips with dip, alcohol and the chocolate molten lava cake. Food was great, thoroughly enjoyed it. Environment is a great vibe. Would certainly return. Lastly the service was exceptional. Well staffed and available. Everyone I met was great. If on the esplanade check out Scotland Yard

Service is exemplary, Sam was awesome and able to accommodate allergy concerns. He was attentive but not hovering, his timing was great and he's a good dude.
Will come back again.
