If you’re looking for authentic Italian food in Toronto, this is always a solid choice. We started with the Giuggiolosa salad, which was fresh. The Tonnarelli alla Norcina was outstanding. Every bite tasted like authentic Italy. The Capricciosa pizza was another highlight. The crust had the perfect Neapolitan texture, light, airy, and beautifully blistered. The toppings were generous, fresh, and every ingredient stood out. We also paired everything with a glass of 2024 Poggio Vicchio Sangiovese Romagna DOC, and it complemented the meal perfectly. A special thank you to Asacia, our server. She was warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and gave us excellent recommendations throughout the meal. Her service made the entire dining experience even more enjoyable.Highly recommended, and I’ll definitely be back. Terroni continues to be one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Toronto.

Had an early Sunday dinner at Terroni Adelaide before a concert at Massey Hall and it was a great pre-show spot. The restaurant is set inside a former 1852 courthouse, with soaring ceilings and a beautiful atrium. Even the washrooms are downstairs in old jail cells, which is a fun little surprise. We shared the Calamari alla Griglia to start, fresh and nicely balanced. My date had the Spaghetti in Canna a Mare. It was labelled mildly spicy but definitely had some heat, though the flavours were great. I ordered the Ravioli al Brasato, which was delicious but the portion was on the smaller side. I could have eaten a few more ravioli and been perfectly happy. We finished with tiramisu, plus an amaro for me and zambuca for my date. Service was friendly, though drinks were a bit slow coming out. The place filled up quickly but never felt chaotic. Beautiful space, solid Italian food, and a great option downtown, especially before a show.

I wish I could say I enjoyed Terroni more. The venue itself was not held in the main restaurant. The company I work at booked out some of the upper floors for an event. There were four flights of stairs to get up to the first floor with the bar and main dining area. There was another two flights of stairs to get to the upper bar (which I was too tired to walk up to). The drinks at the bar were good and the staff were all great. We started with passed apps. Some of the flavour combinations were just off (the skewer with fruit, cheese and something else) - like they paired the wrong cheese with the fruit. The meal itself was a seat down meal (family style) which did take over two hours to complete for the amount of guests that were present (over 200 ppl). My favorite dish was the tomato and mozza salad. My most disappointed dish was the ragu pasta. Though containing a good amount of meat it was not saucy at all. The pizza was the brocolini was good as well. The reason I gave this restaurant three stars is strictly for the lack of elevator and the food quality vs the price. For what you are paying, there is so much higher quality food in the city and I honestly think you can get better bang for buck elsewhere.

Its ok. Had to wait around at 4pm for about 20 minutes mid week with a reservation for 8 upstairs in the large dining room which was empty. Menu is mostly in Italian. No draught beer so you will need to order bottled. Approx 8 dollars per bottle. The fried calamari appetizer was good but for 24 dollars a little overpriced. Also got the charcuterie board for 30 dollars again very overpriced for what you get. For main had pizza affitiscuita, a spictly salami pizza for 25 dollars, was ok to split between two people but was fairly thin crust so thankfully we ordered two appetizers otherwise each person needs their own pizza. Finished with tiramisu for desert which was fairly normal. Overall the flavours are all great, but the portions for the price were surprising. Serivice is ok. Had to wave down the server several times for more water as the food is fairly salty and the water glasses very small.

Hadn’t been back in a decade, my Chinese ex’s favorite go-to. Lovely staff, grand old classic interior and enclosed patio, was a historic courthouse. Calamari and pizzas were simply divine. Two of the pastas were superb, one with seafood no seasoning, tasteless, smelled off, returned it. What they do well they do very well indeed! I need to come back here more often! Came here to celebrate a birthday and had a great experience. We took advantage of a special they were running for a bunch of oysters and a bottle of sparkling wine—the oysters were pretty fresh! For my main, I ordered the pasta, which was cooked to a perfect al dente and packed with flavor. The ambiance of the restaurant is very quiet and peaceful, making it ideal for a nice dinner out. Our servers were also very mindful and attentive throughout the evening without being intrusive. Overall, a fantastic experience. I will definitely be back for future special occasions!

It was the perfect place to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The servers were punctual, friendly and accomadating. We wanted to order food from the happy hour menu as our appetizers even though it was no longer happy hour and they allowed it. They decorated his dessert for his birthday and brought complementary champagne. The food was delicious. We got calamari and spring rolls for appetizers which were both amazing. And then steak and lamb as our mains. Again, delicious. The ambience (in the dining section) was dim and quiet which was perfect for us. We’ll definitely be back.

We had the most amazing experience at Jump. The food was fantastic (Cornish hen, tuna tartar, octopus ) and the service was great. Our desserts were perfect and well balanced. Would recommend it highly.

Our server, Amon (sp?), was beyond pleasant; He was so genuine, took the time to connect with us in addition to providing exemplary service! Our orders were super tasty and fresh. They have a great selection of non-alcoholic beverages and a giant pretty patio space. Highly recommend!

I came here for a corporate dinner, so the bill wasn’t on me this time — and I’m glad I had the chance to give it a try. The food was really good quality with great flavors, though I was hoping for something a little more memorable for the prices on the menu. Everything was nicely prepared, but nothing really stood out or melted in my mouth — except for the white chocolate cheesecake, which was absolutely amazing! The service was exceptional. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and knew the menu very well. The ambiance was lovely too, with nice lighting and a relaxed feel throughout the restaurant. Overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience, though I’m not sure I’d personally splurge on those prices if it were on my own tab.

Canoe was incredible! We went to celebrate our anniversary and they had a nice little card on our table. All of the staff were friendly, knowledge about the menu, and made us feel very special. The food was incredible. We ordered the scallop en croute, which was the best scallop that I have ever had. For entres we ordered the stuffed lamb saddle and the wild bc halibut, with the chicken salt fries on the side, all of it was outstanding. And the screeched tarte au sucre for dessert was good. The experience was definitely worth the cost.

Toronto is a city I’ve spent my entire adult life exploring, and every so often you have an evening that reminds you why you fell in love with it in the first place. Dinner at Canoe was one of those evenings. As the sun set over the skyline and the CN Tower slowly lit up outside the windows, every course that arrived felt like a celebration of Canadian cuisine, creativity, and hospitality. The food was beautifully executed, thoughtful, and memorable without ever feeling pretentious. What elevated the experience, however, was the people. Johann welcomed us with the kind of genuine hospitality that can’t be taught. He made us feel like valued guests rather than just another table, and his presence added warmth to the entire evening. Our server, Steven, was outstanding. Professional, knowledgeable, witty, and effortlessly charming. He reminded me of the hospitality professionals who understand that great service isn’t about reciting menu descriptions—it’s about creating an experience people will remember long after the last course leaves the table. Steven did exactly that. I’ve worked in hospitality for many years, and I know how difficult it is to make service feel natural, personal, and seamless. Johann and Steven made it look easy. An unforgettable evening, incredible views, beautiful food, and hospitality that stayed with me long after I left the restaurant. Thank you for a truly memorable night.

Outstanding restaurant for an enchanting evening. The view is simply phenomenal. A smorgasbord for the senses. Michelle, our server, expertly blended professionalism with approachability. Hats off to her. The food was fine but nothing knocked our socks off, although there was a traditional pie dessert that was sublime. The lamb and halibut were well prepared but not exceptional. That said I would return to Canoe. On balance it is a restaurant you do not want to miss.

Visited for Winterlicious lunch. The view was stunning. We're lucky that we got a standard seat next to the window with the unbeatable view. The food was properly cooked but not impressive. I liked the dessert very much but the portion was tiny. The restaurant was a bit noisy for me but it's quite standard for this kind of restaurant. The service was professional but a bit cold. Overall a great experience but it's quite pricey. I guess we paid extra for the view.

Kristen in the front and Jesús at the table were extremely helpful as the rest of the staff. I came here with family (3 adults, myself, and a toddler) They were accommodating, the food was delicious. I came here as a celebration for my graduation, and they had customized notes and all staff had known about it and congratulated me. It's my family's first time in Toronto, and they loved it here.

The atmosphere is beautiful, with great lighting and a comfortable music volume. The drinks were excellent, and the beer was served ice cold. I highly recommend the pizza and the poutine! Unfortunately, my Primavera pasta wasn’t as good as I expected. The chicken was slightly overcooked and a bit burnt, which gave the dish a slightly bitter taste. Overall, I would definitely come back to this location and would recommend it!

I had never heard of this place before, never seen it, and honestly had never heard anyone talk about it. We just happened to wander through a little courtyard that led to its patio, and it practically invited us to come in and have a seat. Having the World Cup on certainly helped! The patio is heavily shaded by massive umbrellas and the surrounding buildings, making it a perfect spot to relax on a warm day. We ordered the wings and the chicken flatbread, and both were absolutely delicious. The beer was served ice cold, exactly as it should be. The whole experience was topped off by the warm, friendly service from Emily M., who made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we sat down. We’ll definitely be back. The place has a refreshingly relaxed, unpretentious vibe that’s becoming harder and harder to find in the city, and it’s a welcome change from some of the more pompous spots around Toronto.

We made a reservation for a group gathering and we were offered the private dining room that fits 15 people. The private room is a perfect fit for corporate/friends/family gatherings with minimum $800 spending requirement. It offers a great private spit where you can enjoy friendly chat and delicious food and drinks. The service is friendly and reliable and the menu offers great variety of shareable, handhelds and entrées.

We dropped in for an early dinner and received a very warm welcome. Great ambience, casual atmosphere, very attentive staff (thank you Jenna!). Food was disappointing (mussels were bland, tacos were very basic, steak was very under seasoned)….some new menu items but fell short from the description. Great beer selection and can’t say enough great things about the staff. Might try it again at some point as the it’s a great relaxed spot for afternoon drinks but definitely not sure about food value for price. We spent about $125 for 2 people.

Amazing place! My parents met here in 1998 and my middle name is res named after this place. We are in the states now but every time I come it's the best drinks and service. Great chocolate cake too. Cool atmosphere as well. The chocolate storm martini and the strawberry coconut martini are my favorites.

I've been here multiple times and love their jazz music, ambience and the food. The location is great. I think getting good seats closer to the band matters so you may arrive early and ask for better seats if possible. If you're not ordering food or drinks, you'll have to leave the table in order to accommodate other guests who would order. This place is such a vibe. Guests are encouraged to dance which I always do. I've always seen Shane Philips play and I love his and his band's performance. I'd be visiting again.

We had a fantastic time at this lounge—it’s the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a great evening. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance stood out: stylish, modern, and effortlessly relaxing. The lighting, music, and overall vibe created a laid-back yet upscale atmosphere that made it easy to settle in. There’s was cover fee $10p/p at the front which goes to the band,definitely worth it. The service was top-notch. The staff was professional, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. A special Thank you to the front desk staff who helped us get the best seats❤️ They made great recommendations and ensured our experience was smooth from start to finish. The drink menu was impressive, with a wide variety of wines, and premium spirits as well as non alcoholic drinks. 🍹🍷🍻 We especially enjoyed the oysters 🦪 which was perfectly balanced and refreshing. There was also plenty of delicious small plates and bites that paired beautifully with our drinks. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. Absolutely loved Biffs. The staff was amazing. I have allergies and they took care of me as if it was a normal off the menu item. I can't say enough about the service! I had the Salmon Salad dish and by far it was the best I have ever had. I got a special dessert which was a chocolate mousse, absolutely delightful. My freind had the creme brulee and thought it was fantastic. I like that its just a few minutes walk from Union Station. We just did a walk in and got seated. They do have specials. Genuinely Exceptional!

Based on my dining experience I would give Biff’s a 3.5 overall. I was looking forward to dining here before our show at Meridian Hall. We had a reservation for 6:30pm and our show was at 8pm. Our server asked if we had a show and we told her the time and she said we should be ok. Service was friendly and attentive. The appetizers came out quickly. The crispy pave bravas were very good, crispy delicious squares of potato goodness. And then the wait began for the entrees as we watched the time. Server said our meals would be out in 5 minutes which turned into 10 min leaving us 20 minutes to scarf down our food before running across the road to our show. Two of our party ordered the tenderloin steak frites medium rare and the steak came out well done and the green beans were also overcooked. By then we had no time for a refire and just ate it. When you pay $65 for a steak you expect it to be cooked to order. The mushroom lasagne was delicious as was the steak au poivre which was cooked as requested, Server apologized for the kitchen’s mistake. If you decide to come here before a show, book at least 90 minutes if not 2 hours before your show if you want a leisurely dining experience.

Not the best but it feels fancy. Great French onion soup (not many onions but the bread was not at all soggy. Very crispy and cheesy) but everything else was just okay. Big portions though; I couldn’t finish it at all. Honestly I didn’t feel like it was worth my money, but maybe i just didn’t get a nice entree.

The space is gorgeous — dark walls, burgundy leather banquettes, velvet drapes, and black-and-white photos that evoke Jazz Age Paris. Cozy yet elegant. The $1 oyster promo with a bottle of wine was a steal. We ordered two dozen — small but incredibly fresh, briny, and sweet. Couldn't stop, so we ordered two more dozen! 😂 One bottle wasn't enough for four of us, so we got another and had the best night chatting and laughing. Food-wise: French onion soup had less cheese than expected (still decent), burger was juicy, fries crispy, and the cheesy mashed potato bread was dangerously addictive. Service was attentive and friendly throughout. Great vibes, great company, great deal. Highly recommend for oyster + wine lovers!

We had such a wonderful experience at Biff’s Bistro! From the moment we arrived, the service was absolutely impeccable - warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. It really made the whole experience feel special. The food was delicious. I had the French onion soup and duck confit, both were rich, comforting, and full of flavor. My husband had the burger au bœuf and loved it as well. A special mention for the housemade iced tea - it was SO good and such a refreshing surprise! Came here to try their summerlicious lunch menu. Fix Prixe: $34 for their lunch. For apps we chose: Garlic and Chili green beans and grilled peach salad. For entrées: pasta a la limone and grilled lamb kebabs. Desserts: cardamom and orange brulee tart, and pistachio burnt Basque cheesecake. So for the appetizers, both were good salads. The garlic and chili green beans really had a kick to them so keep that in mind if you can't handle spice. Really enjoyed the peach salad too, good mix of tangyness and subtle sweetness. They add gorgonzola cheese to the peach salad and its not a cheese for the weak 😅 Our entrees were pretty good too although I found the lamb kebabs slightly bland and lacking in the Mediterranean flavours. The desserts were yummy! All in all, the summerlicious lunch menu was good, the portions were good, you get your money's worth here. The ambience was nice and quiet on a Tuesday afternoon and the staff, our server was Justin, he was amazing!

I stopped by for lunch today and left with a mixed, yet overall positive, impression. While the food itself didn't quite bowl me over, the experience was elevated by the exceptional service and a truly wonderful environment. We opted to sit outside, which turned out to be the highlight of the meal. It was an incredibly pleasant setting, perfect for a relaxing lunch. Stepping inside to take a look, I was equally impressed by the interior; it is exceptionally spacious and kept impeccably clean, creating a welcoming and comfortable vibe that is hard to find. As for our meal, we decided to try the HH Signature Burger and the Tabbouleh Ancient Grain Bowl with Shawerma Chicken. Both dishes arrived at our table beautifully presented, and while the quality was decent, the flavors were fairly standard. They didn't quite reach the level of "memorable" or "special,". Ultimately, this is a fantastic spot if you are looking for a beautiful place to dine with attentive staff. If the menu can eventually mirror the quality of the atmosphere, this place would be an absolute standout. I personally would not return.

Hothouse is getting creative and I loved it. We went for a work social event - where they set up two smaller rooms and had a menu that they walked us through how to make. The timing of when they were done and the dish they just prepared came out was perfectly planned. All the staff worked so well. I felt transported back to one of those old cooking shows but totally revived. The staff were fantastic and it was a unique event. Highly recommend.

We have team lunch in the restaurant yesterday, comparing with the lunch we had 5 years ago , the food quality is dropping. I ordered salad bowls with chicken Shawarma. The chicken tasted very dry and bitter due to over cooked. The salad dressing is also nothing special and avocado was very small.

This restaurant is located downtown Toronto. They have a bit of everything but seems like they specialize in brunch on weekends. They have sandwiches, salads, benedicts, pastas and classic breakfast style dishes. They also serve mimosas, cocktails, coffee, tea and desserts. The food is average and over priced for what you're getting. The drinks and desserts are good though with normal prices. Service is also pretty average. The decor is nice and they have a patio but other than that, this restaurant is pretty average, at least for brunch. If you're looking for brunch, I would suggest Chez Cora's over this restaurant. They've about the same quality but without the high price point and they have several more locations also.

We had a great experience here! The atmosphere was amazing, and the restaurant is spacious with plenty of room to relax and enjoy your time. They also have dart boards, which made the visit even more fun. It’s a great place to hang out with friends, enjoy good food, and have some entertainment at the same time. A special thank you to our server, Aubrey. She was so friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit. Her excellent service made our experience even better. The food is awesome and has a good price for the quality they serve! The menu is brief but functional! I love that they play football (soccer) matches and have special nights for. Patio is very nice as well is the inside atmosphere. Beer is very good too! We liked their Wings and burger, poutine was a little bit salty but still don't mind it :)

I can't say enough about our amazing experience at Scotland Yards last night. Our waitress Natalie P greeted us with a radiant personality and stayed attentive all night, checking in at just the right moments without ever feeling intrusive. The chicken caesar salad she recommended was absolutely perfect. I would unhesitatingly recommend Scotland Yards, especially if Natalie P is serving you!

One of the best meals ever AND on St. Paddy's Day!?!?!! The Kale Caesar salad was beautifully garlic flavoured!?! Bison burger cooked to perfection without even asking how you like it done. Perfect shoestring fresh cut fries!! I'm not easy to please and I love fresh cut fries. I'm so grateful for these fries. The Sheppard's pie is wonderful too! Had lunch here on a Sunday- showed up and it was empty, but it slowly filled as we were eating. The atmosphere is pubby and easygoing but the food is elevated! We were super happy with our apps of Caesar salad and tuna tataki, and our mains (perogies, lamb burger) were beautifully presented and delicious! Can imagine they get busy for dinners and evening drinks! Recommend checking them out

A very nice brewpub near St.Lawernce market . A hidden gem serving a good variety of craft beer . Very relaxing and friendly atmosphere. The food selection is excellent as well. The staff a very attractive and friendly. We had a reunion with about 30 people and we were all treated well.

My favourite bar in Toronto (especially in the fall/winter). Comfy basement, pool tables, a tremendous craft beer selection, and excellent comfort food. The lamb burger and jambalaya are both top notch. The staff is wonderful, fun, and very knowledgeable about beer. There's live music and trivia nights as well. And the patio they've setup down the alleyway (on The Esplanade) has improved considerably over time. This is a Toronto brewpub gem; if you like craft beer, then you need to visit!

I took my husband here for his birthday since he loves good beer and pizza. I had made a reservation in advance as I’d heard the place tends to get quite busy. I had originally booked a patio table, but since it had rained the previous night, the patio was closed. They were kind enough to call and inform me ahead of time, which I really appreciated. We started with some truffle fries and, of course, a few beers. They have an impressive selection of beers; however, it was disappointing that they don’t offer tasters based on your preferences. For our mains, we ordered a pizza—which was absolutely delicious—and a burger that was just okay. The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive throughout. Overall, it’s a great spot for good food, great beer, and a relaxed, vibrant atmosphere.

We just wrapped our meeting of a group of 40 people, and I can’t speak highly enough of the team at Bier Markt. From Dalia, our events planner, pre event to Leo and Miracle, our hosts this is evening, we were given exceptional service from start to finish. It was great working with this team. It’s obvious they love what they do, and our group appreciated every second. The food, drinks and atmosphere were perfect. I highly recommend for your solo or group outings, you won’t be disappointed!

This was a disappointing experience in December 2024. The furniture was falling apart and missing pieces, so we asked to be moved from the wobbly bar stools at the bar tables in the back. The side plates were literally stuck together. I chose something off the drink menu, then the server told me it's not available, "we're getting rid of the other one before we start this one". So I needed another minute to decide and then they took forever to come back to take the order. They were definitely understaffed as the servers seemed spread very thin for the dinner rush and the food took forever. The servers told us "the kitchen was slammed". They scurried around with their heads down, avoiding eye contact. When we finally got our food, the nachos tasted burnt, like something was smoking in the oven. It wasn't just me, my dinner mate could smell the burning from across the table. I ordered something else (duck wings) and they were also not great. I would not recommend this place.

The food was disappointing, lacking flavor overall. Both the steak and duck were poorly seasoned. Of all the dishes we tried, the pizza stood out as the most flavorful, mainly due to the saltiness of the cheese. The only standout item was the fries from the kids' meal, which paired well with ketchup. We were unsure if the restaurant was even open, as the lobby was empty while other nearby restaurants had lines out the door. Now, we understand why.

Recently stopped by the Bier Markt on the Esplanade in the late evening and enjoyed a round of Goose Island (next door) beers. Cereal Chopper was a nice Belgian style Trappist beer. The Lakeshore Stout was decent as well if you like lighter crispier stouts. Opening hours are 11.30am until late each evening. They have a fairly large indoor and outdoor seating area. Menu features a wide range of beers, spirits, wine and plenty of food items they can prepare in the kitchen as well.
