Had an early Sunday dinner at Terroni Adelaide before a concert at Massey Hall and it was a great pre-show spot. The restaurant is set inside a former 1852 courthouse, with soaring ceilings and a beautiful atrium. Even the washrooms are downstairs in old jail cells, which is a fun little surprise.
We shared the Calamari alla Griglia to start, fresh and nicely balanced. My date had the Spaghetti in Canna a Mare. It was labelled mildly spicy but definitely had some heat, though the flavours were great. I ordered the Ravioli al Brasato, which was delicious but the portion was on the smaller side. I could have eaten a few more ravioli and been perfectly happy.
We finished with tiramisu, plus an amaro for me and zambuca for my date. Service was friendly, though drinks were a bit slow coming out. The place filled up quickly but never felt chaotic.
Beautiful space, solid Italian food, and a great option downtown, especially before a show.

I stopped by while looking for a great Italian spot in Toronto, and the calamari truly exceeded my expectations. It was perfectly fried crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of fresh ocean flavour. Served with a slice of lemon and a delicious dipping sauce, it made the whole dish even more enjoyable. Throughout the meal, both the atmosphere and the service were excellent; in a warm and lively setting, I had a genuinely high-quality start to my dining experience.

We went to Terroni for a work lunch and wow was the food ever amazing. I will say they have few vegan options, but plenty vegetarian options. I had the butternut squash ravioli which was divine. Often I find Italian restaurants are stingy when it comes to ravioli, but Terroni was quite generous. I loved the bread they brought out at the beginning. Our server was very helpful and kind. The food came out at breakneck speed. I was genuinely shocked. Dessert was also scrumptious. Highly recommend the chocolate torta, though it is a bit pricey for the size.
As far as accessibility, there are stairs to get up to the entrances, many people waiting indoors, far distances to walk to tables, and tables were quite close together.

I had just come back from Italy, and this restaurant fed the piece of me that wants to go back. Everything was flavourful and authentic. The building is so grand and interesting, I don’t think I fully experienced it even with a trip to the bathroom. You have to order the caprese di bufula to start.
Debbie Hernandez - 6 months ago
An amazing setting for a very authentic dining experience. We ate as a group in what appeared to be a great hall or ballroom upstairs. There were 4 fireplaces and balconies overhanging our tables. Dark but fascinating decor throughout the building. The menu made everything sound very appealing. We had the lemon calamari, fungi salad, papparadelle and tagliatelle bolognese. The calamari was unremarkable and not distinguishable from pub fare. The funghi assolute, though, was very interesting, with a crisp, meaty feeling balanced by the arugula and balsamic. The papparadelle alla iosa was also very authentic, with a lovely, toothy mouth feel to the perfectly al dente noodles and a homemade, Nonna flavour to the sausage and sauce. The menu describes it as "spicy sauasge" but there was minimal, if any, heat to it. Still quite tasty.
Definitely an interesting and authentic Italian option in downtown.

I came here for a corporate dinner, so the bill wasn’t on me this time — and I’m glad I had the chance to give it a try. The food was really good quality with great flavors, though I was hoping for something a little more memorable for the prices on the menu.
Everything was nicely prepared, but nothing really stood out or melted in my mouth — except for the white chocolate cheesecake, which was absolutely amazing!
The service was exceptional. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and knew the menu very well. The ambiance was lovely too, with nice lighting and a relaxed feel throughout the restaurant. Overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience, though I’m not sure I’d personally splurge on those prices if it were on my own tab.

We just had a great meal in Jump and service was quick and attentive. The food was amazing. We had the focaccia, meatballs and goat cheese salad followed by the salmon and steak. Dessert was pana cotta and profiterole’s. Everything was delicious. Service by Petra was great and another gentleman who we didn’t catch his name. Would highly recommend!

Jump is one of my favourite Oliver & Bonacini restaurants and have been here countless of times. Every time I need to impress friends and families, this is the place to be.
Tried to come here again for their Summerlicious and everything is spot on - from the delicious food, attentive server, and modern and stylish restaurant decor.
The restaurant is beautiful, creating a welcoming and elegant atmosphere.
Every dish here looks like a work of art, with its vibrant colours and artful arrangement.
The roast beef sandwich was deliciously juicy and tender. My friends raved about this sandwich and enjoyed it so much. The roasted Atlantic salmon with couscous was flakey and moist.
The coconut panna cotta is probably one of the best panna cotta we've ever tried. Everything is perfect with this dessert - soft velvety texture, creamy but not overly rich and just a hint of sweetness.
It can be a little bit busy during lunch hour and noise levels are often higher. But it's not physically painfully loud that you can't hear your dining companions.
We had a wonderful dining experience and would definitely return.

I had a fantastic experience at Jump Restaurant for their Valentine’s Day menu. The food was incredible—every dish was well-prepared and full of flavor. The cocktails were just as impressive, perfectly balanced and refreshing.
The service was quick, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing, which made the whole evening even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a great night with amazing food and drinks, and I’ll definitely be coming back!

What a gorgeous hidden spot in the heart of downtown! My wife brought me here to celebrate a key milestone in our lives and this place was just perfect.
Firstly, the staff is extremely courteous and accommodate for varied requests. Starting with table selection, since we were there with our baby boy in a stroller and we requested for patio in our reservation, they took us out to the patio and asked us to choose which table would be most comfortable. We chose the perfect spot with great views and a light breeze. I had to change my baby’s diaper, so when I requested for the baby changing room, he immediately eacorted me to the accessible washroom and brought in a table to ensure I had everything with me to change the diaper. This shows how much they care about the comfort of the customers. Our server would keep checking in on us and would be quick with all our orders and requests.
Secondly, the vibe and the ambience were so comforting that we lost the track of time. I highly recommend the patio, even though while you are arriving, you may think it will be noisy since it is close to Yonge Street but their patio design keeps the area quite silent.
Finally, the food was excellent overall with some opportunities for improvement in their desserts - selection and their sweetness.
Overall, absolutely loved it here and will be back for sure. Thank you team Jump! Keep up your amazing hospitality!

Had my first experience dining at canoe yesterday. We went for winterlicious because we thought that was actually a good deal relative to the prices of the original menu. On the winterlicious menu we got the beef tartare, the Alberta beef and I got the chocolate tart and my partner got the pudding. What I will say is the food is good, it was tasty, but also factoring the price in mind I was not AMAZED. But it was good. Also service was good, but also not amazing, the hospitality didn’t feel the warmest but not bad by any means. The beef tartare had a good amount of beef, it was a little bit salty but overall pretty good. I thought the Alberta beef was pretty good too, the mashed potatoes were very creamy and soft and I enjoyed the subtle taste of truffle. For sure get the medium rare and not the medium. I got a medium and it was kind of well done. For dessert I loved the taste of the orange in the chocolate but I do feel like the dessert itself was a bit hard. The view and atmosphere was amazing. Views are great especially during sunset.

Came here for winterlicious. It's located on 54th floor at TD Centre, no doubt the view and the set up was stunning but the food and service were way below. I don't know if it's because of winterlicious but the whole experience left much to be desired. Food was ok but not memorable. I liked the beef tartare and pork terrine. Didn't like the Alberta beef, except the sauce Diane was good. Salmon was pretty standard. Chocolate tart was good, pavlova was very small. In general the portions were quite small for us in my opinion, we had to order some bread and fries to complete our meal on top of the set menu. Maybe having the tasting menu will be better experience than having winterlicious.
Service was efficient but impersonal, as it was previously mentioned by other reviewers, there was little sense of hospitality. The overall experience didn't meet the expectations of a fine dining establishment.

Winterlicious Review
I recently dined at Canoe for Winterlicious and overall had a decent experience, but with several misses that would make me think twice before returning, especially if seated in the same area again. The food was generally tasty and met most of my expectations. The chocolate tart, while rich and enjoyable, felt quite heavy on its own; a simple scoop of ice cream would have gone a long way in balancing the dish, much like what Daniel Boulud does with many of his desserts. That small addition could have elevated the dessert from good to memorable. The beet salad, on the other hand, was underwhelming. It was fairly basic with minimal ingredients and didn’t bring anything particularly exciting in terms of flavour or texture. My main, the crispy pork belly, showcased the meat nicely and it was clearly the star of the plate. However, the supporting elements on the dish didn’t provide enough contrast or freshness to cut through the greasiness, which made the overall plate feel a bit one-dimensional.Service was another area that fell short. While our server did check in to ask if everything was okay, the interaction felt very transactional and robotic. It seemed like she was too busy to genuinely stop and listen, which detracted from the hospitality aspect of the meal. I do recognize that Winterlicious service can be hectic, but even brief moments of authentic engagement go a long way at this level of dining. My biggest concern, though, was the environment at our table. There appears to be a felt-woven ceiling feature above the dining area, and throughout the meal dust was visibly accumulating on our table and, worse, dropping into our drinks and food over time. This is a serious turnoff in any restaurant, let alone one that trades heavily on its premium image and stunning 54th-floor views. As it stands, I would not return if I knew I’d be seated in that section again, which is unfortunate because the view over the city is one of Canoe’s biggest draws. In summary, Canoe delivered on flavour in parts, but the combination of underwhelming supporting dishes, robotic service, and a noticeably dusty dining environment made the experience fall short of what I would expect from a restaurant of this calibre

We had lunch at Canoe Restaurant, located on the 54th floor of TD Tower. The restaurant is known for its sweeping views of downtown Toronto, though on the winter day we visited it was quite cloudy, so the scenery was somewhat muted.
The atmosphere was fairly formal and seemed to cater mainly to the executive crowd working in the downtown core. Service was friendly and professional, though a little rushed at times.
We ordered the lunch prix fixe menu. For appetizers, we tried the stracciatella, and I especially enjoyed the roasted grapes, which added a lovely sweetness. I would highly recommend the smoked trout tartare—it was fresh, flavourful. For mains, the Atlantic salmon was good but nothing particularly memorable, while the confit duck leg was savoury but slightly dry.
Overall, we enjoyed our lunch experience. Canoe is a great place to take in views of downtown Toronto from above—especially when the weather cooperates—and offers good food in an elegant setting.

I took my mom to Canoe for her Birthday in December. It was absolutely a phenomenal experience. I booked an early time as their website said window seats fill up quick. I also made sure to indicate it was her birthday on the booking. They had a cute little sign on the table for her.
The atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. When they brought the food to the table the explained the plate. The portion sizes were perfect. It's quality over quality at this place and after reading some of the other reviews it was clear some people didn't bother to review the menu or site before booking. An appetizer and entree filled us up and we split a desert.
It was slightly more casual than I expected but again that ranged from table to table. Some tables were in suit and tie and some had people with hoodies. That didn't affect my dining experience though.
Overall HIGHLY recommend to treat yourself or someone else.

Excellent spot to grab drinks, especially beers. Felt welcome as soon as we walked in. They have an excellent curation of European beers. The staff is very attentive, friendly and really knows the menu. Got excellent beer suggestions for the flight I ordered. The ambiance is warm and cozy. Our new go-to spot for drinks!

We made a reservation for a group gathering and we were offered the private dining room that fits 15 people. The private room is a perfect fit for corporate/friends/family gatherings with minimum $800 spending requirement. It offers a great private spit where you can enjoy friendly chat and delicious food and drinks.
The service is friendly and reliable and the menu offers great variety of shareable, handhelds and entrées.

What a charming restaurant. Great ambiance when you enter. Wonderful upscale touches throughout. Great menu. Highly recommend the fondue for an appetizer. We also got the poutine...they have a little different twist on it . So so good! Our food was good. The steak was covered in a sauce which we were are not quite accustomed to and in our opinion the meat could have used a little more seasoning. The fish tacos were marvelous. The slaw on the fish taco is the best I have tasted. It added great flavor and texture to the taco. The fish in the taco was well seasoned and succulent. They have the best coffee and some really nice desserts. We enjoyed this establishment.

We dropped in for an early dinner and received a very warm welcome. Great ambience, casual atmosphere, very attentive staff (thank you Jenna!).
Food was disappointing (mussels were bland, tacos were very basic, steak was very under seasoned)….some new menu items but fell short from the description.
Great beer selection and can’t say enough great things about the staff. Might try it again at some point as the it’s a great relaxed spot for afternoon drinks but definitely not sure about food value for price. We spent about $125 for 2 people.

Amazing place. Staff could be a bit more courteous but not reducing a star for that. The selection of drinks are super amazing and the food tastes extremely good for being pub food. Will surely visit again and put more photos. Don't mistake this cool place for your regular brash Irish pubs. It is much much more cooler and high end.

Stopped in here for a quick bite (9:30pm), they were busy but overall seated quickly. The server took our order and brought our food within a reasonable time. Food and drinks were ok overall not bad place to stop in for a pint or a quick bite but unsure of their menu choice as they had I believe butter chicken as one of their specials? I could be wrong as it was a few weeks back since I ate there but I know it wasn’t really along that “typical” pub menu which isn’t bad just not expected..overall not bad at all.

They’re kind of expected to have great Guinness and they didn’t disappoint - smooth and crisp.
We had the fish and chips and the crocodile bites. Gotta day, the fish was great but the crocodile bites were amazing! Never thought of trying it before, but I’m glad I did. The crocodile is a lunch special, so you may not see it all the time but it’s definitely worth trying if you do.
Staff was friendly and attentive, but not to a point of being annoying - just enough check in for fresh drinks.
The dining area was clean and the TVs didn’t have their volume cranked which is a nice change. Just enough class for a business lunch without feeling stuffy.

Very good traditional Irish pub faire and a fun atmosphere! The drinks are priced reasonably and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Worth the trip! Plan on spending some time to unwind and enjoy a good conversation, food and drinks with friends!

The food is always amazing here, every time I'm in Toronto I need to visit! Atmosphere is more like a sports bar though as it's very loud and filled with people drinking after work. Myself and my husband couldn't hear each other talking so I wouldn't recommend it for an intimate dinner but the food is always worth putting up with the atmosphere. I've had many different dishes here but the fish and chips are incredible!

you're going to find a very classy and groovy vibe in this jazz bar. what an amazing experience!
we were there on friday january 9th for shane philips; him and the band are such gems! the music had lots of people joining the dance floor, and it was so refreshing to be somewhere with a crowd that didn't just stand and look at their phones (personal peeve of mine😅). the crowd was very respectful. everyone was dressed well for the venue and you could tell they were really there for the music 😌
the food and service were a bit lacklustre (it seemed our server had a big section that was quickly sat all at once), but it is not the main event. i did enjoy their oysters though! the drinks were great and my partner really enjoyed their lychee mocktail.
i would 100% recommend making a reservation as it gets busy early on. i received prompt replies to my email request (contacted through their website) and during opening hours i was able to make a phone call to make a change to my reso. be advised there is a cash only cover charge at the door (ours was $15 per person).
the last time i was here was a couple years ago, and returning on friday night made me realize what i've been missing out on. i will definitely be coming back.

Super fun and delicious food. Tiny portion sizes, cover most nights. They had an 80s night when I went which was cool. Get earplugs bc it will be loud. Flashlight needed to look at menu but still loved

Hands down the BEST jazz bar in the city. Steak tartare and mushroom crostini are absolutely amazing! Love the crab cakes too, just wish it was less spicy. Great drinks, nice service, cool ambience. They always have amazing bands/singers (Danny B is a LEGEND). Shoutout to Ethan, such a funny guy and patient host.

We had a fantastic time at this lounge—it’s the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a great evening. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance stood out: stylish, modern, and effortlessly relaxing. The lighting, music, and overall vibe created a laid-back yet upscale atmosphere that made it easy to settle in. There’s was cover fee $10p/p at the front which goes to the band, definitely worth it.
The service was top-notch. The staff was professional, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. A special Thank you to the front desk staff who helped us get the best seats❤️
They made great recommendations and ensured our experience was smooth from start to finish.
The drink menu was impressive, with a wide variety of wines, and premium spirits as well as non alcoholic drinks. 🍹🍷🍻
We especially enjoyed the oysters 🦪 which was perfectly balanced and refreshing. There was also plenty of delicious small plates and bites that paired beautifully with our drinks.
Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. Great service, amazing food, and a lovely setting—what more could you ask for? 💎

Based on my dining experience I would give Biff’s a 3.5 overall.
I was looking forward to dining here before our show at Meridian Hall. We had a reservation for 6:30pm and our show was at 8pm. Our server asked if we had a show and we told her the time and she said we should be ok. Service was friendly and attentive. The appetizers came out quickly. The crispy pave bravas were very good, crispy delicious squares of potato goodness. And then the wait began for the entrees as we watched the time. Server said our meals would be out in 5 minutes which turned into 10 min leaving us 20 minutes to scarf down our food before running across the road to our show. Two of our party ordered the tenderloin steak frites medium rare and the steak came out well done and the green beans were also overcooked. By then we had no time for a refire and just ate it. When you pay $65 for a steak you expect it to be cooked to order. The mushroom lasagne was delicious as was the steak au poivre which was cooked as requested, Server apologized for the kitchen’s mistake. If you decide to come here before a show, book at least 90 minutes if not 2 hours before your show if you want a leisurely dining experience.

Beautiful venue, delicious food an a amazing manager! Came for a late valentines dinner on Sunday the 15th and was treated so nicely by the manger. She really did her part to make us feel like family. Food is spectacular but quite small portions imo. Still left very satisfied after sharing 2 desserts that were delicious! Highly recommend and will definitely be back. Thanks for a fantastic evening biffs team!

While out for a walk on Wednesday, we popped into Biff's Bistro for a drink. Olha mixed a perfect cocktail and gave us a fantastic wine recommendation. We were so impressed that we came back for lunch the next day; the burger and frites were expertly prepared, with the chargrilled flavor and bun really standing out. Biff’s was packed for lunch, which was great to see.
We actually returned for a third visit on Friday! The General Manager, Jessica, gave us such a warm welcome and even treated us to a small crock of their spectacular French Onion soup. Hal took over behind the bar and kept the momentum going with more excellent cocktails. Biff's is officially on our list for dinner the next time we're in Toronto.

Loved the French bistro atmosphere and attentive service. Happened to be there for an early dinner and hit upon Happy Hour specials. Good wines by the glass and from their wine list at nicely reduced prices. The Prix Fixe was very enjoyable for $64 pp. Excellent French Onion Soup, Coq au Vin, and Dark Chocolate Brownie were accompanied by a quite good entry level Burgundy from their list. Definitely a place we would return to when in Downtown Toronto.

This restaurant is located downtown Toronto. They have a bit of everything but seems like they specialize in brunch on weekends.
They have sandwiches, salads, benedicts, pastas and classic breakfast style dishes. They also serve mimosas, cocktails, coffee, tea and desserts.
The food is average and over priced for what you're getting. The drinks and desserts are good though with normal prices.
Service is also pretty average. The decor is nice and they have a patio but other than that, this restaurant is pretty average, at least for brunch.
If you're looking for brunch, I would suggest Chez Cora's over this restaurant. They've about the same quality but without the high price point and they have several more locations also.

Diets go here to die, their Sunday Brunch Buffet featuring a wide selection with solid execution across the board. Make sure you don’t miss the BBQ Chicken – moist, tender flesh with a crispy skin and umami depth – and pair that with a refreshing balance of sweet and acidic beet salad to cleanse the palate, adding a touch of veggies into your buffet bowl. The lasagna didn’t disappoint with its soft, comforting layers with a tangy tomato sauce and good meat ratio. The savory breakfast sausage brought a slight snap, nice char, and the right feel for brunch. Finish your meal(s) off with a dose of sugary indulgence, with a generously saccharine bread pudding with a strong custardy-maple syrup fragrance and vanilla, or a lighter apple crisp and tangy raspberry sorbet – a great finisher.

I stopped by for lunch today and left with a mixed, yet overall positive, impression. While the food itself didn't quite bowl me over, the experience was elevated by the exceptional service and a truly wonderful environment.
We opted to sit outside, which turned out to be the highlight of the meal. It was an incredibly pleasant setting, perfect for a relaxing lunch. Stepping inside to take a look, I was equally impressed by the interior; it is exceptionally spacious and kept impeccably clean, creating a welcoming and comfortable vibe that is hard to find.
As for our meal, we decided to try the HH Signature Burger and the Tabbouleh Ancient Grain Bowl with Shawerma Chicken. Both dishes arrived at our table beautifully presented, and while the quality was decent, the flavors were fairly standard. They didn't quite reach the level of "memorable" or "special,".
Ultimately, this is a fantastic spot if you are looking for a beautiful place to dine with attentive staff. If the menu can eventually mirror the quality of the atmosphere, this place would be an absolute standout. I personally would not return.

Food was okay. Got the platter in which we thought was charcuterie. Granted it didn't say charcuterie but reading it on the menu it insinuated it. Came with 3 pieces of cheese and same for meat. Rest was hummus' etc. Calamari was good, fish was a bit over cooked. Service was good, drinks were good. Good location.

I always wanted to come here. The location is perfect to bring tourists friends. The vibe is great. Foods are all nice and prices are reasonable too. We had drinks during happy hour.

An awesome pub with exceptional service! My wife and I felt like we were back in Scotland through the food, decor, and vibe. We ordered the sausages and the fish and chips, both of which tasted amazing. There was nothing on the plate that we didn't like. We definitely recommend this place and will one day hopefully return!

We had a great lunch in the Scotland Yard Pub.
Our server Robert was friendly and attentive.
The Poutine were the best we ever had, comforting and delicious. Great beer selection.
Great and fair price value.
Casual Atmosphere, highly recommend.

Really great pub on The Esplanade. The interior has an authentic Scottish pub feel to it — warm, dimly lit, with the kind of character that's hard to fake. We caught happy hour and started with the Fries Supreme, which were well seasoned and a solid start. For the main I had the AAA steak sandwich with fries — the steak was tender and the whole thing came together nicely. A proper pub dinner. Would come back for sure and catch a sports game on one of their many screens!

Good place to see a football game. Went there to watch Manchester United. Very good service! But book a table if Spurs are playing (it is their official bar). Nice brunch menu and bottomless mimosas for 20$ on the weekend

A very nice brewpub near St.Lawernce market . A hidden gem serving a good variety of craft beer . Very relaxing and friendly atmosphere. The food selection is excellent as well. The staff a very attractive and friendly. We had a reunion with about 30 people and we were all treated well.

My favourite bar in Toronto (especially in the fall/winter). Comfy basement, pool tables, a tremendous craft beer selection, and excellent comfort food. The lamb burger and jambalaya are both top notch. The staff is wonderful, fun, and very knowledgeable about beer. There's live music and trivia nights as well. And the patio they've setup down the alleyway (on The Esplanade) has improved considerably over time. This is a Toronto brewpub gem; if you like craft beer, then you need to visit!

Everything was quite nice overall. The beers were average, and the fish and chips were slightly above average. However, the calamari is definitely not worth ordering again. A big thank you to the lady who served us—she was very polite and attentive.

What a wonderful space.
I’m not exactly sure what makes it feel this way, but the size of the room, the layout of the tables, the lighting, and the high ceilings all come together to create a very comfortable atmosphere.
The vibe is lively without being too loud, which makes it easy to have a conversation.
We only stopped by for drinks this time, but next time I’d love to come back with friends and enjoy a proper meal while spending more time here.

4.4/5 Fun downstairs bar with good energy and great food! I’d go back for sure.
1) food - I had to try a few things - got the black garlic burger fantastic all around), and the schnitzel sandwich (good but might try something else next time). Greek salad was village style (no lettuce), and the hand cut fries and close to shoestring but very flavourful. Consider it gastropub style.
2) atmosphere & service -fun, kind of a homey-vibe with older furniture and fireplaces and pool tables. Everyone seemed to be having a good time everywhere. There were work people, couples on dates, friends from the local game. Service was the only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star and (4.5 overall). Staff were nice, but not that charming (kind of throwing the dirty dishes around loudly). I think this can improve. But overall it was a good experience and I would recommend it for food and beer selections. I like the owners passion.
