Very nice restaurant for steak fine dinner. We made a reservation at 6:45pm two days ago and were seated immediately upon arrival. The waitress was very nice, welcoming and helpful. We asked for suggestions of red wine to go with our steak dinner. She suggested local red wine, which turned out very good. We ordered four prime ribs, three medium rare and one medium, and the cooking was just good. The meat was very tendered and juicy. It was a very nice dinning experience. For a bottle of red wine, two appetizers, and four prime rids, we only paid less than $400. Highly recommended.

Table for 8 and tried the 8oz sirloin with a lobster, it was great! Lobster was a bit on the smaller portion, but was flavourful. Steak was cooked well and tender. Got to try three different dessert. Crème brûlée, definitely the go to. The cheesecake, probably skip this. The miller cake, can be for 2-3 people and worth it. Great service and definitely a solid consistent chain restaurant.

I've been to two other downtown locations of The Keg (Esplanade & KIng West), this is hands down by far the best out of the three both in terms of food and service.
Food: I got the 18oz prime rib, it was juicy (unlike the dry one I got at the Esplanade location). As usual, the highlights of the meal were the bread and the dessert (got the Billy Miner pie).
Service: I found table maintenance to be a real issue at the two other locations but Ted was so on top of it. He cleared our wine glasses as soon as we told them we're not ordering wine. He cleared all our plates and even crumbed our table before dropping dessert menus. Our water carafe was never empty. Dessert plate was cleared before the bills were brought. These are small little details that were absent from my visits in the two other locations. Bravo Ted.
While I do find The Keg to be a bit pricey for my spending habits, this is the first time where I feel like I'm getting good value from both the food and service.

I recently dined alone at this location of The Keg Steakhouse on York Street. My life partner and I have visited this place over the years. My server Chantal recognized me and asked about my partner. I mentioned that he had passed suddenly in April of this year 2025. I was returning by myself as part of a tribute to him soon as this was the first time I was dining without him. The meal was excellent. My obligatory baseball steak was cooked to perfection. Upon presenting my bill to me I noted that there was a $0.00 balance. I was very moved by this kind gesture on the part of my server and The Keg Steakhouse on York Street. Much appreciated ☺️

The Keg never disappoints, and today was no exception. We arrived on a very cold day in Toronto, and were graciously welcomed at the bar by Dianna and Emma. They were incredibly kind, courteous, and genuine, all the things you want in a server. Besides the five star service we received, the food was absolutely outstanding, and a real hit. Thank you, Dianna and Emma, for the amazing service and a truly memorable experience.

I used to live close by years ago, and we come here all the time. Their butter chicken is phenomenal, the spicy dishes like their vindaloo all right standing, and the buffet was always a hit. Haven’t been here for many years, and I’m very pleased to discover that the quality Has 100% held up. The staff are really friendly and genuinely make an effort to remember you, lol the ambiance is perfect for an alien buffet place.
Absolutely would recommend this place, absolutely would recommend the buffet and I wish I lived closer so I could come more often.

This was an unbelievable find. Great service and amazing food. Staff was unbelievably helpful.
Walking in, I told the waitress that I was celiac and asked if they had a gluten free menu. I was quickly told that everything on the menu was gluten free with the exception of the bread.
I made my order and reconfirmed my meal was gluten free. With a smile the waitress said yes, the entire menu was gluten free.
If celiac or have a gluten sensitivity, this is a place to try. It was amazing and the flavour was unreal.

This restaurant has been around for years and is quite popular among people who enjoy Indian cuisine in the area. I’ve tried many Indian places around, and personally, this is one of the best Indian restaurants in the GTA.
The staff are friendly, professional, and provide fast service.
The prices are on the expensive side, but they’re reasonable considering the quality and location

Location is fantastic, and the restaurant is clean and well-maintained with excellent service.
The washrooms are several floors up, so if you have mobility issues, you may have difficulty accessing them.
Food was average.
Butter chicken was much too sweet, and with the combo I chose (3), it contained only four pieces of chicken.
The lamb Vidaloo was very spicy, but a mango drink made it tolerable.
I heard that the buffet was good, so I will try it next to confirm.

Volos Greek Cuisine is one of my favorite downtown spots in Toronto for having a dinner that will surely impress your date, business partner or family.
The atmosphere is a mix of traditional Greek styling with a modern twist, the Volos is easily one of my favorite spots in downtown Toronto. If you need to impress a date or client, this is the place. The decor is a great mix of modern and traditional, and the service is excellent.
The food is outstanding—the steak was cooked to perfection, and the grilled octopus was fantastic. However, the service logistics could be better. Many dishes are meant for sharing, yet we were given regular spoons instead of proper serving utensils. Also, the saganaki needs a much larger portion of bread to go with it!

I was craving seafood and then found this restaurant. The warm seafood salad just became my favorite dish. Every bites of that was well balanced. Thanks for this BOH team to make the best seafood meal. I will definitely recommend my friends to visiting.

If I had to describe this restaurant in one word, it would be - mediocre.
We went for dinner a couple of weeks back. The hostess was very pleasant and had us seated. Good start.
Now for the not so good
Volos is priced as a higher end restaurant. The first impression one gets is the decor. We were seated near the kitchen. Where it was quite ordinary. The ceiling was open and you could see the vents and wiring. Average looking chairs. With the prices Volos charges, decor should be a factor.
The biggest disappointment was our server. We planned to share several appetizers rather than ordering mains. Her face visibly fell when she heard that. We ended up ordering over 5 appetizers over the course of the evening, so it wasn't a cheap evening. Plus dessert. However, our server never stopped by after taking our initial drink and dinner order. So much so that we had to ask another server to get us more drinks. At which she magically reappeared at our table with the drinks.
The food itself was also mediocre. Pantheon, in the Danforth, is so much better.
For the prices they charge, you are much better off going to other $$$ restaurants in the downtown area.

I recently visited Volo’s Greek Restaurant with my family for a birthday celebration, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The service was outstanding — the staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel so welcome.
The food was absolutely amazing — every dish was full of flavor and made with the freshest ingredients. You can truly taste the quality in every bite. From the appetizers to the main course, everything was served beautifully and on time.
We had such a lovely time, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend Volos for anyone looking for authentic Greek food.

Both of my experiences at Planta have consisted of a wonderfully ambient atmosphere paired with fairly average cuisine that is more pricey than I feel it warrants itself being.
The interior decor is tastefully upscale, but I don't feel the cuisine is quite up to par with it.
I hope the Planta team will consider this feedback, and ask themselves if there are ways to elevate their dishes to match their higher price points.
There was a delay in delivering a drink to our table, prompting the servers to generously remove it from the bill altogether - a gesture I quite appreciated.

I'm a huge sushi fan, and for a vegan place, this place was a really cool experience! I've never had vegetarian sushi before, but I was super shocked with how close the tuna roll tasted to real sushi (thanks to the waitress for the reco)! My mom is vegetarian, so it was nice that she got to try sushi in this unique way for the first time. We got a bunch of different plates; gyoza, edamame dumplings, mushroom katsu, sushi. It was a lovely experience, and the staff was super nice and the place looked really cool. If you're willing to spend the money, PLANTA was great!

Food so good that I turned Vegan that night.
I’m a heavy non-vegetarian and Vegan food never interested me but this restaurant turned it around. The food was so good. Ambience even better. I believe, it’s Japanese themed.
Recommendations:
1. Firecracker roll
2. Udon noodles
3. Chicken cutlets
4. Chocolate brownie
I’d definitely go again. Reservations required.

Had lunch at PLANTA Queen today with a group of three, and we shared everything family-style. Our server was incredibly friendly and thoughtful — he made every dish very easy for us to share, which we really appreciated.
I’m not vegetarian, but I have to say the food here is genuinely delicious. The flavours are rich, creative, and surprisingly satisfying for a fully plant-based menu. The udon noodles were the standout for me — creamy, savoury, and full of umami. The truffle fried rice was another favourite, perfectly seasoned with great texture and aroma. Everything we tried was flavorful and well executed.
Overall, it was a great experience with excellent service and food that exceeded expectations. Definitely worth visiting, even if you’re not vegetarian.

This restaurant is a dream come true for vegans and I’m sure that non-vegans would love it too. We went during happy hour and ordered several items from menu. Every item was delicious and perfectly done. Service and atmosphere is great too. Will definitely be returning when back in Toronto. Thank you for a great experience :)

What a lovely restaurant and staff. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the friendly staff. The staff was chatty and offered suggestions on the dinner options. Im surprised by some of the reviews but all I can do is report on what I experienced. Business dinner on a rainy weeknight. Maybe half full. Very good service and friendly staff. I thought the wine and food was all well above average. Apps were a bit pricey but the beet salad was delish. Lamb chops were plentiful and properly cooked. Seafood risotto was large and tasty. Branzino was also delicious. Food was hot. Mains were decently priced (for Toronto). Atmosphere was good for a business meeting but there were couples on dates too. Id go again for sure.
Peter Berczi - a week ago
The Verdict: Is it worth it?
Yes, especially for groups or dates. The atmosphere is upscale yet quiet enough for real conversation, which is a rare find in the core.
Quick Highlights
The Food: High quality and consistently good.
Value: Mains: Reasonably priced for the quality/location (typically $30–$50 range).
Appetizers: On the pricier side for the portion size.
Atmosphere: Chic and comfortable. It’s a "low-noise" environment, making it an excellent choice for a romantic evening or a business dinner where you actually need to hear each other.
The Service Experience:
The service is a bit of a mixed bag. While the staff is friendly, you might encounter the "Upsell": Some servers can be quite aggressive in pushing the most expensive specials or premium wine pairings (the "used car salesperson" vibe).
Attentiveness: Inconsistent. You might find yourself waiting for a refill or the check while the server is busy with the "hard sell" at another table.
The Parking Trap: Being at Richmond and York, nearby lot prices are notoriously high (often $25–$35 for a few hours).
Pro Tip: If you want to save on parking, check the Green P at Nathan Phillips Square (110 Queen St W). It’s about a 5-minute walk but can save you $10–$15 compared to the private lots immediately adjacent to the restaurant.

Had a lovely experience from start to finish at the Downtown Toronto location. All of the servers were friendly and helpful. We had the pleasure of having Tapash and he was welcoming and kind. The menu is extensive with steakhouse fare, make sure to arrive hungry as you’ll want to order everything! I was torn between steak & seafood so I had both. The sides are very generous portions! This is a nice place to celebrate special occasions as the staff are extremely accommodating. Had a 10/10 evening. Highly recommend.

probably the best steak I’ve ever had in my life. we came here while visiting Toronto particularly because my friend is Muslim and they offer halal steaks here, they were really accommodating. We had the New York strip rib eye, Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Our server Selina was so kind, attentive, and genuine. She was truly a highlight of our experience!! The manager (unfortunately didn’t catch his name) was also super great, and came into check on us as well.
I would 100% come back here the next time I am in Toronto!!!

We recently took part in the Summerlicious menu at Ruth’s Chris, and it absolutely did not disappoint. Some of us went for the steak, others for the chicken—and both dishes were truly out of this world. The garlic crust on the steak was the perfect finishing touch and made it unforgettable.
What really elevated the experience was the exceptional service provided by Mike. He was not only courteous and professional, but also added a fun touch with some great one-liner jokes that kept the atmosphere relaxed and enjoyable.
Highly recommend giving it a go—you won’t be disappointed!

Came here for my birthday, was not disappointed! We particularly love the scallops and their salmon here, melts in your mouth, feels really fresh and taste quite a bit nicer than your average sushi place. And of course with great quality and service comes a greater price tag, more on the pricier side, but not outrageously expensive. We sat on the floating sushi boat bar, and the quality of the sushi is still very good, despite not being made right out from the kitchen, still tasted fresh. Also tried the Udon and wasn’t disappointed, the broth especially smells really nice.
Would definitely come back on special occasions!

The service and quality of the food we received was great. It was a little on the pricier side but worth it. The experience was great especially seeing their rotating sushi boat system.
I would highly recommend this place if you want fast service and quality food.
Janice J - 7 years ago
Quite an expensive place. But it’s a fun experience to sit around a turning table full of boats on water carrying sushi. They also have a menu where you can order more expensive items like the fatty tuna. The fatty tuna sushi is quite nice, but the sashimi is not that fat. Meaning it’s a lower quality cut of the tuna.
Wen Z - 6 years ago
Fun experience with decent sushi but lacking in that wow factor for the price. You are paying a premium for the experience of having one of, if not, the only conveyor belt boat sushi restaurant experiences in Toronto. Service was satisfactory and attentive but expected for the price. Sushi variety was average with some exotic options and a range of drink and sake selections at all price points. Each plate is between $4.50 to $8.50 for two pieces, on average. Higher priced items like uni are also available. The uni was tasty enough but not from Japanese waters. I would return annually for the floating boat (Fune) experience, not for the price or quality of fish.
Bryan Crisp - 6 years ago
For sushi that's high quality and consistently good, come here. The floating sushi bar is cool and the selection that comes around is great. And if you want something that doesn't float on by, just order it off the menu.
Service here has always been great during all my visits. The waitresses are prompt and attentive and the food comes out quickly. Prices here are reasonable too considering the quality you're getting. This isn't your all-you-can-eat quality here.
Overall, one of the best sushi options in the city in my opinion. And considering this place has been around since the early 90s, others must think so too.

Kids love the word "aura" these days, and when my dad asked me what it means I told him "think Soho House 2010-2014." That confused him more but I like messing with my dad. Forreal though, the run Soho House had can only be rivaled by 2011-2015 Whole Foods. You really had to be there… but like any other prime, Father Time always catches up.
I was set to do a full rise and fall piece on the Soho House right here on Yelp but in my research, I stumbled upon an article by Lydia Moynihan in the NY Post and she nailed it. I really didn't have much to add so go over and read that if you have a sec. Shoutout to Lydia.
Instead, I'll just recap our experience here like any other boring Yelp Review.
We came to this Toronto location before the Taylor Swift concert, and I was pleasantly surprised. It felt like prime Soho House. A beautiful, discrete brick building with an old school interior. Whoever designed this one needs a raise. I'm so tired of the cookie cutter half-assed modern architecture.
The ones in LA and NY now feel like it is just a bunch of dorks trying to be seen by God knows who. There is no soul in those locations.
We grabbed a drink in the lobby and went upstairs for our 5pm dinner. I domed a couple of negronis and we split a margherita pizza and a bottle of pinot noir before our mains arrived. I got the rigatoni, per the waitresses recommendation because she had a thick Italian accent. Big truss. She wasn't lying either, that rigatoni went crazy.
I took like 30 pictures before a staff member came over and said no pictures, as I didn't know that was still a rule here… please don't beat me up.
We closed dinner with a couple espresso martinis before setting off on foot to go see Big Tay put on a show. She really did her thing.
Thank you Soho House Toronto, for giving me a taste of what the Soho House used to be in the states.

Decent Halloween Party, But Didn’t Live Up to the Soho Brand
Attended the Halloween party at Soho House Toronto as a guest of a member. The night wasn’t terrible, but it also wasn’t memorable — very middle-of-the-road. The space was overcrowded, which made it hard to enjoy the atmosphere, and the event itself didn’t offer anything particularly creative or special. Given the reputation of the Soho brand, I expected a more curated and engaging experience.
Overall, an okay night out, but not something I’d go out of my way to attend again.

My wife has been a member of the Soho house Toronto for 2 years now and I always enjoy visiting with her as a guest! Today was a fabulous brunch with friends for a birthday. We had the pleasure of being served by Karen, who was absolutely fantastic. Her attention to the table was diligent and swift. The food... WOW! I enjoyed the cold buffet, with fruit, cold cuts and an assortment of dishes. Followed by the most amazing fried chicken, macaroni and back bacon. My wife always indulges in the salmon, seafood and oysters. While my toddler ate more selection than I could keep track of. The freshly made crepes at the end, sealed my stomach with a kiss! I can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend anyone that’s considering becoming a member!!!
UPDATE!!! Just spent New Year’s Eve 2020(Phantom of the Opera theme) with our friends on the first floor. Photo booth, live singing and performances!!! The “2020 vision” drink was amazing and the music was on point ALL NIGHT!!! We had the most amazing “ring in the new year” experience!
