The food tasted great!! The prime rib was very tender (we ordered medium rare), however was a little bit too salty for my liking. Service was awesome. The mains took a while but it was understandable as it was peak dinner hours (7:30pm). One thing worth noting was we were brought to the corner at the back but our waiter was really attentive so that didn’t turn out to be a huge problem. Would definitely come back again!

I had the opportunity to celebrate my 40th birthday with my family at The Keg on York Street, and the evening couldn’t have gone any better. A huge part of that was thanks to the outstanding service from Vanessa and Roman. They were professional, courteous, attentive, and genuinely made our group of 12 feel well looked after from start to finish. There’s really not much to say about the food at The Keg that hasn’t already been said. It’s the benchmark for consistency—almost the McDonald’s of steakhouses in the best possible way. No matter what you order or which location you visit, you know exactly what you’re getting: a high-quality meal that’s cooked and presented to a consistently excellent standard. Thank you to Vanessa, Roman, and the entire York Street kitchen crew for making my 40th birthday such a memorable celebration. You helped create an evening my family and I won’t soon forget.

Few days ago we hosted a work function at this location and had an outstanding experience from start to finish. Jill, the manager, held two excellent spaces for us while we made our decision, which we really appreciated. We ultimately chose the spacious patio area, which turned out to be the perfect setting for our group. Our servers, Stacey and Maleah, were absolutely fantastic. They were attentive and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the entire event. They truly elevated the experience. Will request them again at the next event if possible. This Keg location has absolutely earned our return business, and we will not hesitate to book here again for our next company event. Highly recommend for anyone looking to host a group function!

I made a 6:30 PM Saturday reservation at The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - York Street to celebrate an anniversary, and overall it was a wonderful experience. We were seated within about 5 minutes of arriving, and our request for a more private booth was fully accommodated, which really set the tone for a more intimate evening. Our server, Hemen, was fantastic—attentive without being overbearing. He checked in frequently, offered helpful recommendations, and made sure we were genuinely enjoying everything throughout the night. To drink, we had a 9oz Cathedral Cellar wine and an extra sour margarita—both great choices. We started with the house bread and butter, followed by an iceberg wedge salad and the beef carpaccio from their winter grill menu. Both starters were fresh and flavorful. For our mains, we ordered the T-bone steak with a double-baked potato and cowboy butter on top. The steak was cooked perfectly to medium rare—exactly what you want from a classic steakhouse—and did not disappoint. To finish, we were pleasantly surprised with their signature Billy Miner Pie brought out for our anniversary. While there wasn’t any writing on the plate to mark the occasion, the gesture was still appreciated and a nice way to end the evening. Overall, I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a classic, intimate dinner or a special celebration in downtown Toronto.

Table for 8 and tried the 8oz sirloin with a lobster, it was great! Lobster was a bit on the smaller portion, but was flavourful. Steak was cooked well and tender. Got to try three different dessert. Crème brûlée, definitely the go to. The cheesecake, probably skip this. The miller cake, can be for 2-3 people and worth it. Great service and definitely a solid consistent chain restaurant.

Visited this Indian restaurant near Queen West Station for their dine-in-for-two and was genuinely impressed with the quality and flavors. This is the kind of spot more people from our community should know about. Started with onion pakoras which were crispy and flavourful - excellent beginning. The real star is the non-veg platter - it comes with afghani chicken, tandoori chicken, green chicken, and kebabs served with mint chutney. Every single item on that platter was delicious and well-prepared. This alone is worth the visit. Butter chicken with naan was good, though it leans on the sweeter side. If you prefer spicy, just ask them to adjust - they're accommodating. The chole was too good, especially with the pickle and mint on the side. Loved every bite of it. The dine-in-for-two is great value and gives you a proper Indian meal experience. Service was good, portions are generous, and the food quality is consistent. Not claiming it's a hidden gem, but it's a solid spot that deserves more recognition from Indian food lovers in Toronto. Quality ingredients, authentic flavors, and fair pricing. The staff was very polite and helpful. Recommended: Non-Veg Platter (must-order), Chole, Onion Pakoras Tips: Ask for spice level adjustments on curries if needed. The non-veg platter is perfect for sharing.

A literal gem in downtown Toronto. My friends and I stumbled across this restaurant two years ago not knowing this would become our comfort food. We all have our personal favorites, but mine is the Chicken Saag and Jalfrezi. And don’t even get me started on the bread here, especially the roti and naan. My friends and I can eat a scary amount of them and we always do 😁. Everything is made with care, and you can taste the love and hard work behind each dish. It’s a reflection of the people that make Little India special, and ultimately, what keeps us coming back isn’t just the food, it’s also the service. Jaya and the staff have always been incredibly nice to us, from complimentary bread and rice to the occasional desserts on the house. These gestures mean a lot more than they may realize, especially to a group of international students living far from home since they remind us of sharing meals with our own families. While this place may be called Little India, the genuine hospitality will make anyone feel nostalgic for home and that’s reason enough to eat here.

I LOVE this place. The naan is so amazing. I get sad whenever I eat store bought ones. I need to be locked in a room and the key thrown away with food from this restaurant. Eating with hands is a must! ❤️ The dessert (middle photo) is a light sweet taste to cleanse your palate. Perfect way to end the meal.

I visited Little India with my team mates as part of team outing. We ordered Tea, samosas and pakoras. Everything tasted good and was made fresh and hot. Even though they took quite some time to serve tea but it was made fresh and it was not machine made. Overall good experience, good option for Indian food.

Tried this Indian spot with my wife and my son the other night. The place itself is really nice — cozy vibe, warm lighting, and the décor is on point. Definitely a good spot if you’re looking for somewhere comfortable to sit and enjoy a meal. Food was fresh and well made, but heads up — it’s pretty spicy, even some of the dishes we didn’t expect to be. We’re not great with spice, so that was a bit tough for us. Overall, solid experience. If you like heat, you’ll probably love it. If not, just ask them to tone it down 👍

Volos Greek Cuisine is one of my favorite downtown spots in Toronto for having a dinner that will surely impress your date, business partner or family. The atmosphere is a mix of traditional Greek styling with a modern twist, the Volos is easily one of my favorite spots in downtown Toronto. If you need to impress a date or client, this is the place. The decor is a great mix of modern and traditional, and the service is excellent. ​The food is outstanding—the steak was cooked to perfection, and the grilled octopus was fantastic. However, the service logistics could be better. Many dishes are meant for sharing, yet we were given regular spoons instead of proper serving utensils. Also, the saganaki needs a much larger portion of bread to go with it!

Mimosa was awesome! She had a great sense of when to check in and when to give us space. We never felt rushed or ignored (we were having a business meeting). Food is really good. We got the ragu papardele and the chicken skewer dinner. Food disappeared before the server could do his first check in. The chicken soup and the flamiz cheese dishes for aps are also highly recommended. Only reason why they didnt get a 5 star is the dessert menu could have been better.

Calamari was great. Octopus was a bit dry and old. Salad was average. Lamb chops were lack of flavor. Fish was a bit salty and dry (kinda overcooked) Good vibes. Service was a bit slow.

This is my favorite greek restaurant in downtown Toronto. The food is great (especially saganaki), staff is friendly, pleasant atmosphere, and it's reasonably priced given the quality. It's also quiet, which works really well for business meetings.

What a lovely restaurant and staff. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the friendly staff. The staff was chatty and offered suggestions on the dinner options. This was an early Christmas gift for my niece - dinner and the ballet, and Little Anthony’s delicious food and wonderful staff helped create a lasting memory.

Little Anthony's lives up to its online reviews. The tuna tartare is fresh and beautifully seasoned; Anthony's salad is basically a burrata dish; the pasta is very al dente (the lamb ragu deserves a special shout-out, as does the mushroom papardelle); and the hazelnut gelato was smooth and fragrant. This is a lovely choice for any special occasion.

Visited for Valentine’s Day and I cannot begin to describe how wonderful our night was. Despite it being a very busy night, our server Jason was attentive and friendly and communicative with us about the status of our meal. He definitely made our night much more enjoyable with his service! The food was absolutely delicious, the wild mushroom pappardelle is all I’ve been thinking about since that night. When our food was taking a while to come out we were even offered free dessert and a glass of dessert wine as compensation, we didn’t mind waiting on a busy night but this was such a nice gesture regardless. My partner and I had a pretty bad experience with a restaurant on Valentine’s Day last year so coming to Little Anthony’s this time was a breath of fresh air. We will definitely be coming back!! :)

The seafood risotto was perfectly creamy and loaded with fresh seafood, and the tagliatelle bolognese was rich and full of flavour. The staff were friendly and attentive, and everything was excellent. This place honestly deserves a higher rating. We will definitely be back!

I have been wanting to try this place for awhile now. The service was really good. The ambiance was upscale but not pretentious. We went early 430 so it was empty yeahhhh! The food was very enjoyable steak was not cooked exactly how I wanted it in terms of doneness but I still enjoyed it. Salad was yum, soup yum lol bread and butter warm and nicely whipped. Service attentive, music elegant vibe. When people started To roll in at 6pm ...The atmosphere changed intresting to see who the patrons where. Anyway, dessert we had one of everything I really liked the cheesecake and mini bread pudding....and the fruits.

My girlfriend and I celebrated Valentine’s Day here and it was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish, the staff gave us a rose which was a sweet touch. We began with the voodoo shrimp perfectly crispy with that addictive sweet and spicy kick that hits just right without overpowering the shrimp itself. The mushroom stuffed with crab meat was honestly one of the most delicate and beautifully flavored crab dishes we’ve had. The crab was tender, fresh, and seasoned to perfection, rich but not heavy, letting the natural sweetness shine through. For the main, we ordered the USDA ribeye cooked medium rare, and it was outstanding. It arrived on a sizzling plate, creating that mouthwatering sound that instantly builds anticipation. The steak was cooked exactly as requested, juicy, tender, and packed with deep, beefy flavor with a beautiful sear on the outside. The sides were just as impressive. The potato au gratin was creamy, cheesy, and indulgent with a perfectly golden top, while the Brussels sprouts were cooked beautifully, caramelized, flavorful, and a great savory balance to the richness of the steak. To finish, we had the molten lava cake and the creme brulee. The lava cake was decadent with a warm, flowing center that paired perfectly with the ice cream. The creme brulee was exceptional silky smooth custard with a perfectly torched sugar crust, and you could see and taste the real powdered vanilla bean throughout, which elevated it to another level. The entire evening felt special, romantic, and thoughtfully executed. Incredible food, beautiful presentation, and an unforgettable Valentine’s dinner. We’ll definitely be back. ❤️

Came here for my birthday, was not disappointed! We particularly love the scallops and their salmon here, melts in your mouth, feels really fresh and taste quite a bit nicer than your average sushi place. And of course with great quality and service comes a greater price tag, more on the pricier side, but not outrageously expensive. We sat on the floating sushi boat bar, and the quality of the sushi is still very good, despite not being made right out from the kitchen, still tasted fresh. Also tried the Udon and wasn’t disappointed, the broth especially smells really nice. Would definitely come back on special occasions!

The service and quality of the food we received was great. It was a little on the pricier side but worth it. The experience was great especially seeing their rotating sushi boat system. I would highly recommend this place if you want fast service and quality food.

Quite an expensive place. But it’s a fun experience to sit around a turning table full of boats on water carrying sushi. They also have a menu where you can order more expensive items like the fatty tuna. The fatty tuna sushi is quite nice, but the sashimi is not that fat. Meaning it’s a lower quality cut of the tuna.

Fun experience with decent sushi but lacking in that wow factor for the price. You are paying a premium for the experience of having one of, if not, the only conveyor belt boat sushi restaurant experiences in Toronto. Service was satisfactory and attentive but expected for the price. Sushi variety was average with some exotic options and a range of drink and sake selections at all price points. Each plate is between $4.50 to $8.50 for two pieces, on average. Higher priced items like uni are also available. The uni was tasty enough but not from Japanese waters. I would return annually for the floating boat (Fune) experience, not for the price or quality of fish.

For sushi that's high quality and consistently good, come here. The floating sushi bar is cool and the selection that comes around is great. And if you want something that doesn't float on by, just order it off the menu. Service here has always been great during all my visits. The waitresses are prompt and attentive and the food comes out quickly. Prices here are reasonable too considering the quality you're getting. This isn't your all-you-can-eat quality here. Overall, one of the best sushi options in the city in my opinion. And considering this place has been around since the early 90s, others must think so too.

It's been years since I've eaten here and it still tastes just as good as it did before. While this place was never a cheap spot to eat, I've had more than enough poutine to eat it for both lunch and dinner if you buy the "large". So far, Smoke's still has my overall favourite poutine in the city.

Absolutely fantastic for quick, late night poutine. Tons of options, huge servings, and for a pretty good price. While it may not be the best poutine you will ever have, and service can take a bit longer when it’s busy, I think it is great for what it is. I recommend.

Needed to try poutine on my trip to Toronto and was given only one recommendation.. Smoke's. The menu is excellent with choices for everyone. We got vegetarian and meat options as well as the original poutine. Service was decent enough and friendly. This location isn't very accessible friendly or stroller friendly but we made it work. Overall a nice experience.

Food is mid have ordered everything here and it’s unimpressive especially for the price and the damn attitude servers have, gnocchi is the best pasta, the branzino is good but still kinda mid they need to revamp their menu, Brussel sprouts are good, calamari is nice on the safe side, I like the burrata salad but it’s straight up something you can make at home pear arugula burrata and balsamic vinegar not impressive at all, wine selection is fairly nice, overall service upstairs needs improvement always feels like a pain when you’re trying to order for some reason from some servers I don’t want to name and they always got some type of attitude like we don’t pay for a membership… makes me not want to eat here, just want to mention the way they just run off without caring about you is ridiculous… don’t pay attention to you as you sit down, asked to move to another table and said they had a few parties coming in, spent over 2 hours eating here with my group and no one came in…. Disappointed at the service. Downstairs I’ve had way better experiences but upstairs every time is just unbearable, go somewhere else if you want good service, good food..

I was treated by my niece to experience the food at SoHo and the food was superb. The chef that evening from the upcoming Kusi restaurant nailed some of the filipino vibes in his dishes. Did not disappoint. The deserts were phenomenal as well. My favourite was the mango float.

Follow @bredgyeats for more food posts! Way back since 1978 (when my atoms hadn't even assembled yet), Queen Mother has been slinging out their Ping Hai that makes your palate sing. Moist and tender chicken thigh deeply marinated in a mix of garlic, coriander, black pepper, spices and grilled for a savory char. Salad greens tossed in a mild vinaigrette, moist steamed rice, and a refreshing lime-coriander dipping sauce complement the chicken for a complete meal. Handheld and easy to demolish, the pita sandwiches a filling of grilled chicken breast and mixed vegetables, tossed with mellow peanut sauce dressing. The salads don’t stop there; this time, minced chicken is mixed with aromatic herbs, lettuce, red onions, peanuts and nutty toastiness from toasted rice powder, with cucumber slices on the side. Their house sambal was a worthy addition - fresh, smoky and packed with mild heat.

What an interesting unassuming spot! I came in with no expectations and ordered a bunch of stuff: - Dim sum quartet: So yummy! Lots of filling, well cooked, pretty good - Chicken and Shrimp Bah Me Hang: It’s sorta like pad thai, but the noodle’s texture was so good. Like angel hair pasta but more chewy and so delicious. I couldn’t stop eating 🤤 - Ping Gai: The chicken was so juicy and well grilled. Great seasoning. The dipping sauce was light but brought the whole meal together. A really delicious dish! This spot is great, service was fast and the food is delicious! They also have plenty of vegetarian options which i think is also wonderful 🙂

I got the pad Thai which was flavorful but too salty . My husband got a noodle soup which was very good. I love the history of the restaurant which helped the atmosphere even though it was a bit dark and basic. Service was efficient and professional without the extra warmth 😝We were told our reservation would be given away after ten minutes. Seems like a busy place.

I’ve been here twice now and I absolutely love everything. The food is amazing. I tried the arugula salad and the kale salad with chicken and they were both really good. The kale salad is my favourite. The portions are generous and the servers are really nice. The place is very cozy and it truly feels like you are visiting your grandma’s place for food. I will be coming back to try other items on the menu.

A tried and true Toronto establishment! If you’re looking for a place that captures the charm and history of Queen Street West, with good food, relaxed vibes, and a bit of soul Queen Mother Cafe is a gem worth visiting. Nestled in a 165-year-old building since, it feels like a comfortable “home away from home”. The food strikes a great balance between comforting regular dishes and bold Southeast Asian flavours, it has something for everyone, and the portions are beyond generous (the ping gai for example, will feed two). Highly recommend the pad Thai, ping gai, dumplings and samosas, but anything on the menu is excellent!
