4 Star Rating We were a party of 7 on a Friday night. Lots of bustle but service was still friendly and efficient. Calamari starter was superb. The kids loved the margherita pizza. With wood-fired taste comes 'char' and one in our party had lots of it with a soft centre and was not happy but did not want to wait for a re-order. It comes down to personal preference somewhat. Recommended.

5 Star Rating I’m obsessed with Pizzeria Libretto’s pizzas! The crust is like heaven—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and tastes just like Nonna’s homemade bread. Seriously addictive stuff

5 Star Rating A great neighborhood choice for pizza. Made in their pizza oven, which you can see when you peak into the open concept kitchen. I had the funghi pizza with gorgonzola which was delicious! You don't see "white" pizzas on the menu very often. Service was super friendly.

5 Star Rating Went for pizza and drinks before a concert the other night at Danforth Music Hall. My friend and I picked Pizzeria Libretto as we knew the menu had a vegan option for me. Service was fantastic - our server was super proactive, noticing a wobble in our table before we even did and fixing it immediately. We had also made some initial conversation with her and she picked up that I might have a dietary restriction and asked me about it. She also took a moment to mark on the order sent to the kitchen that I had a restriction, which I really appreciated. We got the Impossible pizza which was soooo good. The crust is so light and crunchy, and their vegan cheese went way beyond my expectations. There was enough to take home and I also appreciated that their takeout boxes have reheating instructions - such a cute/useful touch. The cocktail menu was great as well, lots of classics and twists on classics, so you really can't go wrong.

3 Star Rating The pizza looked gorgeous but was pretty bland. The highlights of the meal were the starters, especially the fried gnocchi! I highly recommend trying those out. The arancini and the meatballs were tasty as well.

5 Star Rating As a lot of these reviews say, this place gets PACKED at lunch and dinner time, especially during Friday and Saturday nights. It is a hot spot to dine in on the Danforth, as the food is very good. Reservations are essential and it will get very loud! I’ve been going here for a while now, and my most recent dinner with a few friends was lovely. Our server was kind and helpful, even though I know she was spread thin! The restaurant itself is nicely decorated, but again, it gets very rowdy! For my appetizer, I got their garlic-cheese bread and it was so yummy! For my main, I got their mussels in a spicy tomato broth. It came with bread and butter was absolutely delicious! Lastly, for dessert, I got their New York cheesecake slice; I ALWAYS have to get one, it is so delectable. My friends got their creamy gnocchi and raspberry tartufos. I was blown away by the gnocchi when I had a taste; I will definitely try it when I come back! During my dine-ins before, I have gotten the butternut squash soup: IT IS HEAVENLY, I would also highly recommend! This place is great for a night out with a group of friends. The food is consistently good and you can see how hard the chefs work. But I will emphasize this once more: reservations are essential, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. And don’t be surprised by the noise level!

4 Star Rating First time at Fornello to try their Winterlicious menu. Started with the Minestrone soup, for main I got the chicken cacciatore and for dessert I had Tiramisu. I found the Winterlicious menu for the mains to be limited. It didn’t really have any good pasta option. Only Spaghetti and it was plant based. They could have added at least one pasta to the menu. Another thing I found disappointing was that they don’t serve bread and butter or olive oil as complimentary. Lots of Italian restaurants do. Given how expensive the food is overall, do they really have to charge $2.75 plus tax for bread and butter? Otherwise, the soup was delicious. The bread was warm and soft and perfect with the butter. The chicken was very tasty and just the right proportion. The cod was average. Their potatoes tasted really good both the mashed and the fried one. The chicken was flavourful and perfectly cooked. The tiramisu was soft and moist. As for the service and ambiance, the restaurant is really packed and it’s a space not big enough to accommodate so many guests comfortably. You have to speak loudly to be able to hear each other over the other loud guests and overall it felt chaotic. Our server was good but a bit slow since she was juggling so many different tables and guests. The food came very fast though so very impressed with the kitchen staff. I would have to go back someday to try their pastas.

5 Star Rating Came here for lunch, there were 5 people in the restaurant but I was still a couple minutes late to get back from my lunch break even though work is very close by. It is not excruciatingly slow but not a place to go if you have a time limit. Table service itself was very attentive though food took a while to come out. Food and atmosphere were perfect. I had Penne capri and tiramisu. Penne capri was delicious and the tiramisu was the best I have ever had outside of Venice. I would bring friends back here just for the tiramisu. During lunch time the bowl of pasta was less than $20, this place is one of the last few with 2019 prices.

5 Star Rating Katsu will forever be my favourite restaurant. Basically I’ve been coming here for about 10 years now, and whether you are ordering a bento box, or fully satisfying yourself with all you can eat, every meal and every taste at this restaurant is amazing. I want to start off by saying the owner is such a kind and wonderful person, and really cares about each customer. I see her working every time I come in, and she is very passionate about her restaurant! Secondly, I wanted to say that I thought there were sushi chefs working in the kitchen. Incorrect, there are magicians working here, because how is the food seriously that delicious? And now for the menu. Okay, so you can choose to do all you can eat for a set price of around $37 (dinner), and I must say with all the options on the menu this is a really good deal! Or, if you’re not as hungry there are plenty of other cheaper options that are fully satisfying. Before having all you can eat I used to order a bento box (Natsu combo $13.99) that had my choice of meat (teriyaki chicken) with rice, shrimp and veggie tempura, dumplings, soup and california sushi! Such a big box for such a good deal! I will say that the all you can eat really opened up my eyes to what this restaurant is capable of, and I’ll go through my favourite dishes that I recommend from the AYCE menu: Appetizers: Green salad Dumplings (a MUST have) Beef teriyaki Tempura Shrimp (veggie is also good) Tempura Squid (this one over Calamari) Takoyaki Sushi: Danforth Roll (Deepfried, must try) Green Dragon Roll (very yum) Gold Dragon Roll (Salmon lovers must try this) Dynamite Roll California/Spicy California Roll Avocado Roll (small sushi with just avocado) Salmon Roll (small sushi with just salmon) Salmon & Avocado Hand Roll Salmon Sushi (Salmon Sashimi on a bed of rice) Sashimi: I cannot express this enough: Katsu’s salmon sashimi is to die for! My favourite sashimi, the best I’ve ever had. I have cravings for this taste. The texture is smooth, melts in your mouth. Amazing. And if you don’t think you’re a sashimi person, just give 1 piece of salmon sashimi here a try. Dip it in some soy sauce and be changed forever. Also the atmosphere and ambience in this restaurant is very warm, cozy and welcoming. I come here as often as I can with friends and my fiancé, and am happy when I get the opportunity to introduce new sushi lovers to Katsu. Anyways, yeah that’s my review. Thank you for reading this far if you have. And thank you Katsu for years of delicious meals! This is forever my favourite restaurant.

5 Star Rating I love this place! I get the bento box…reasonably priced and always tasty. I do not eat raw fish so I can’t speak to the sushi. They also have Japanese buffet. They serve actual cans of pop, not fountain which is another plus and it’s Coke, not Pepsi which is another plus for me. The ladies that run the front of the house are all lovely and gracious. And always smiling! They give a discount if you pay cash and they even gave us free dessert for no reason. I also order online for pick up and they always get it right. And they use the newer take-out containers that you can wash and reuse which is better for the environment too.

5 Star Rating Katsu sushi is my go to sushi when visiting the Danforth. The owner is very nice and welcoming aswell as the server's. I ordered a Bento box and I was very happy for the choices I was able to get. I had Katsu, rice, sushi rolls, side vegetables, gyoza and shrimp tempura all in one! Everything was tasty I had no issues with my Bento box. I additionally got their yakatori to try and it didn't disappoint. Very flavourful and the cook on the meat was perfect. Overall, extremely good service and great food.

2 Star Rating I was recently introduced to "Too Good to Go" and blindly purchased a mystery basket for $4.99 (which I assumed was going to be a pack or two of bagels). First time using this app. I figured if this could keep food out of the garbage, and I can save some money, I figured 'why not?' We buy fresh bagels and eat them all week, so I wasn't worried about day-old bagels lasting us a few days. The shop smells delicious so I had high hopes. But the bagels they're selling must be SO old. Days, probably. It's hard to tell in the packaging since they're very dense, but wow. They were rock hard. Even worse, tasteless. Somehow they managed to take the taste out of flour? So, instead of saving a few dollars, I'm out $5 since these are inedible. Disappointing experience, and I can't help but feel they're taking advantage of this app. It's one thing to offer discounted food at a discounted price if they're "day old" bagels. It's another thing to offer rock-hard bagels to paying customers.

3 Star Rating On Boxing Day, this Bagel Time was the only bagel shop open within a half hour walk of the downtown core. We bundled up and made the trek over to the Danforth, our mouths watering with anticipation. Unfortunately the bagels did not live up to our expectations. The “everything” in the bagels we ordered seemed to consist of sesame and poppy seeds only, and the texture was too chewy. Most importantly, the taste was just OK, and they lacked salt. I’ve had fresh bagels from restaurants with similar menus and wood oven, that have exploded in my mouth with fresh-baked flavour. None of that here.

5 Star Rating Wow I had such delicious and satisfying meal ☺️ I ordered the Karaage Ramen (karaage was put on the side, which I prefer) and it was so yummy. Usually when I have Ramen, the broth tends to be on the saltier side, but this was a perfect blend of smooth and rich flavors. You can really feel and taste the care and love the chefs put into the food. The atmosphere of the restaurant was really relaxing too! And the service was excellent 👌 ahh overall I'd recommend visiting this quiet, kawaii, and cozy little spot on Danforth!! You won't regret it ❤️❤️

4 Star Rating Food - Their menu has the standard japanese food you usually see at others. There are a few items that have their own twists, such as the teriyaki fries. I got the dynamic roll, and unexpectedly, it was larger than I was used to. I prefer smaller rolls to fit into my mouth. However, I didn't mind the largeness. It did taste good, nothing crazy but above the average. For the price, it was a little much. If you can share it, it would be better bang for your buck. The presentation was nice, and overall, I would come back if I was in the area. Service - The server was friendly and professional. Food came out quickly, so there was nothing to complain about here. Ambiance - I always appreciate it when the restaurant takes care of decorating. They have a bunch of japanese artwork and knick knacks. Lots of wood and an outside patio. It's near the subway and clean. Overall, it's not bad, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

3 Star Rating Putting pickled ginger in sushi roll is lazy. It's a condiment, like wasabi, and you don't put it in the centre of sushi (I hope).I understand the budget is tight w the inflation, but please come up with something better that makes customer feel worthy paying for. I ordered Sushi Tray F ($46.95) and Spring rolls ($6.49, Free w order over $30) for delivery. Overall, im happy with the meal, except the 12 pcs of ginger rolls. It's a lack of creativity, if not underestimating your customer. I've been to this restaurant since it's opened, think it was more thoughtful then, with the owner himself in the sushi bar. Rice was cooked properly (it's important to me it's not pasty), and seasoning was great. Ubereats: so I took the free spring roll which was great, but the tip was calculated for the % of sushi + springroll+ tax. Then springroll was deducted in the end. Small thing, but a freebie should not be in the calculation. I heard this is the same for other restaurants "deals", tax and tip are calculated for the pre-discount price (unless the customer is not mindful to calculate manually). I felt somewhat tricked.
