5 Star Rating I really enjoyed this spot for brunch and coffee. The Senator Restaurant offers good variety of breakfast and brunch options. The egg benedict that I ordered along with the homefries side were amazing. Service was also spot on and the waitress was very attentive and the food came our pretty quick. The ambiance and atmosphere were also great.

Peach pancakes- with some fruit, syrup, butter n whipped cream. Delicious, delicious, delicious. There is a reason why this place has been going strong after so many decades. Please visit, highly recommended. My new favourite for brunch in the city.

5 Star Rating #TheSenator Review from March 2023…#SundayBrunch at #Torontos oldest, continuously run restaurant, in the same place. Luckily they’ve survived the pandemic, unfortunately they still haven’t returned to full menus and full daily meals. However Brunch today was fabulous. $5 #mimosas made with fresh juice and Prosecco was a wonderful beginning to our meal. #coffee #tea and #warmAppleCider accompanied our dishes. My husband ordered the #buttermilkPancakes with fresh #AppleCompote and #mapleSyrup he really enjoyed them. He also enjoyed a lovely side of #Bacon. I went with their brunch special. While not a full English breakfast, which I had hoped to order, It did have #bakedBeans #eggsOverEasy wonderfully cooked #homeFries #ChallahToast and to make it Canadian I had luscious #peaMealBacon I was fortunate to eat it with some #HPSauce which made it English. The server said they discontinued the Full English Breakfast due to people not eating the Blood Pudding, Heathens!! Overall a wonderful yummy brunch, in a cool place, with an old jazz vibe. My husband talked about eating at The Senator back in his University days or eating lunch while working down the street. I love hearing and seeing Toronto history, I’m glad I had the opportunity to eat here, I’d visit again #eatLocal #LocallySourced #TorontoHistory #TheSenatorRestaurant

5 Star Rating My husband and I stopped in after a day-long bus tour of Toranto. We were needing a warm drink before getting on the road for the 2 hour return to Niagara Falls, Ontario. They were very busy with reservations but happily welcomed us at the bar for delicious coffee. The server even gave us a refill to go. The bar tender and the manager both took time to answer a couple of questions about the restaurant. Loved the vintage vibe! Would definitely reserve a table if we're back in Toronto!

5 Star Rating The Senator is a Toronto staple that will continue to be for the coming years! Nestled away on Victoria street, the senator is a no frills, good food, good service, good atmosphere restaurant that you should visit. Although they don't have an ambitious menu, they are doing things right with what they are serving!

4 Star Rating Pretty average Italian restaurant. The complimentary bread was just a normal sourdough but the olive oil dip was interesting. The pasta was noticeably homemade and fresh which was nice. Service was a bit lackluster, I don’t even know who my actual server was - we didn’t get told the specials and we had to flag someone down for a refill of our water jug. Overall solid food though, i’d still return for a casual meal.

5 Star Rating Dined at this restaurant this past Friday for my father’s 50th birthday dinner! My 2nd time trying this restaurant and our server Brandon was friendly and knowledgeable! Lots of great cocktail recommendations. Food was fast and hot, and we were left stuffed! Very reasonable price and well portioned. Always room for dessert, and I definitely would recommend the tiramisu and apple strudel!

4 Star Rating Been here on several occasions, and I love it here. What appeals to me is the live music. Once you step into the restaurant with the live music playing, it already gives you all the feels. The food is always good, I particularly love the table side spinach salad and table Caesar salad as well as the French onion soup ( it was very aromatic and not overly salty ). The cheese bread is a must order in my opinion, and any cut of the steak is good, cooked to your liking. Service is great, staffs are friendly and attentive. The only reason I gave this restaurant 4 stars is because of how loud it can get with the chatter. Each time we went, we sat upstairs and it is still fairly loud conversations overlapping conversations coming from below. You can hear the chatter in one of the videos I posted here. The ambiance and decor is classic with a touch of modernism. Value is good as well. If you have not dined here before, I suggest that you give it a try.

4 Star Rating First of all love the atmosphere inside. It's decorated really well. Very modern and classy at the same time. Our table was upstairs overlooking main dining area. Which gave us a great view of the live performances going on during that time. We ordered seared scallops for appetizer. Although it tasted good, I think it was over priced for what we got. For main we had beef wellington and steak. Steak was cooked to perfection and tasting amazing, beef wellington although it tasted good but puff pastry was rather soggy by the time it arrived on our table. For dessert we had creme brulee which was excellent. Also the service was excellent. Our server was very nice and constantly check up on us throughout the night. We really enjoyed our time here.

5 Star Rating This place is great! I came here after work for my husband's friend's birthday. The environment is pretty chill and the staff are friendly and attentive. We shared a bunch of dishes as well as had several different drinks. I'm not a beer person, but my husband's friends are and they really like their beer. What stood out to me is their flammekueche. It's pretty much like a flatbread pizza but they cook it really nicely so it's crispy and flavourful. We also shared some sliders which were nice as well. Overall, I'd come here again because the atmosphere is great :)

3 Star Rating Disappointed with this place since I last visited it 2 years back. They seem to be very rigid regarding seating inspite of ample tables being vacant and they also seemed to be running out of carry bags and some drink items. We were not even in a rush hour. The food was ok, nothing to complain about. The server tried to do his best. Just the general conduct and the missing things asked for left a sour taste in my mouth. NOT going to recommend!

5 Star Rating Truly an exceptional Toronto establishment. The culinary and hospitality experience you recieve is unmatched especially at this price point. I've been wanting to try this place and it was as good as I hoped and that's coming from someone who is usually underwhelmed eating out. The chicken fried mushrooms were the highlight for me. It was delicious and unique. The fried brie was also really nice and creative. The burger was very good and you could taste the quality of the ingredients In every dish. The sticky toffee pudding was very decadent but a touch too sweet for my taste and that portion size. Their cocktails are Very nice and generous with a well stocked wine selection. They also employ a no tipping policy which is great for the staff and the customer and the quality of the service was top tier. This place is a wonderful experience that delivers in every aspect.

5 Star Rating I came here to celebrate my wife's birthday with family. I am stuck on how to review this one. I wish we could do halves but I guess I will round it to a 5 star. I will say that staff, ambience and decor are all spot on. We had the private booth in the back, a nice touch of traditional Japanese flooring but with the "comical" bottomed out seating so you do not have to sit cross legged. What I am hung up on is the food and its value. I know sushi is a huge market, and there are levels of quality you expect for certain establishments. For a very upscale restaurant, I was expecting a little more. I hate to compare restaurants, but I just find the portions here are something left to be desired. For the value you get from the orders, you just do not get enough. The quality of fish is good, some exquisite, but some other orders are why add this to your menu at all? An example is the spicy salmon, it just looks pretty similar to what you get at other spots but it might be more expensive with no real reasoning other than the spot you are in. It is a bit unfortunate, but otherwise everything else was fairly stellar. Though the complimentary ice cream was also nothing spectacular. It is a good unique spot for some dishes but not all.

5 Star Rating Quick sit down Italian food located inside busy Eaton Centre. Ordered the Pan Seared Lasagna, Caesar salad and ice cream dessert. All items tasted great. Bolagnese sauce on the crispy edges lasagna was delicious. Caesar salad was fresh. Finished off with not too sweet scoops of sorbet and ice cream. Next time, we will order pizza as it looks great. Decor of restaurant was modern, good mix of regular and bar seating. Service was friendly, quick and efficient. The only downside was that tables are placed very close together, so you can hear neighbors' conversations.

5 Star Rating 4.3 / 5.0 - better than the current Google score. Close to a 4.4 actually. I can see the reasons. But think of this as a semi traditional Italian Bistro in the mall. So quick hits: 1) Food is well made above average Italian. Don’t let the mall fool you. The owners have other locations as well. It’s semi-traditional Italian with flare. 2) Pizza was exceptionally- pepperoni were small cups with a nice cheese to sauce balance. We were surprised how tasty. Definitely recommend any pizza (I might consider well done next time - on the fence). 3) Tina albacore salad was nice, but albacore belongs in a can, not seared. So unless you like Albacore- I’d pass at $30 - but salad was well rounded. 3) Polpette - 3 Meatballs was really tasty - good size and flavour - but not mind blowing. I’d considering ordering again, but not a dealbreaker. Service was pretty strong on a Holiday. Polite, fun, accommodating. They added to the experience. The location is in the Eaton Centre Mall - so I can understand the potential challenges. If I’m in the mall I’d go again and not hesitate. Well done and appreciate our server.

5 Star Rating Felt like the waiter didn’t want us here although it was 10 in the morning. The waitress who brought our food over was nice though. Plentiful servings for good price. Food was delicious and came under 4 minutes. Would come again.

5 Star Rating I came here with my mother and 14 month old son early morning like 8 am and I was surprised how busy it was, but it also was a Saturday! We were staying at a hotel down the block so it was convenient. Breakfast was your typical breakfast, they had a kids menu which was great. Big portions, I coulda shared my kiddos food. Service was quick. Also not pricey at all compared to your typical breakfast places in Toronto. Would definitely recommend for families.

3 Star Rating It's one of those places that you go for an experience when you are in Toronto. One can pretty much order from breakfast items like Pancakes, French toast to full on Sunset breakfast, which includes Eggs, Bacon, Sausages and Poutine. Blueberry Pancakes are big, a bit dry and the Syrup is not Maple! Other items are mediocre and nothing exciting. They are a chain and well-known establishment. Service was good but rushed.

4 Star Rating I left smelling like bacon grease all over my clothes so that’s not good. Portion size was very good for the price, i ordered a pancake and their crab cake and i loved it. The potatoes were too salty for our taste though.

3 Star Rating Salad Caesar served without meat like a big plate with green salads leaves. You need to order it like extra and extra pay for it too. I was a bit shocked. Fried potato that serves with burger, in my opinion, is not tasty at all. Service is 👍
