5 Star Rating The Senator is a charming little spot that feels like stepping into a cozy, old-school diner with a touch of elegance. The inside is very cute and quaint, with a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes it a great place to sit and enjoy a meal. Yes, it’s definitely on the pricey side—expect to pay about twice as much as you would at somewhere like Sunset Grill. But in this case, you’re absolutely getting what you pay for. The breakfast is delicious—easily more than twice as tasty, so take that for what it's worth. Everything is cooked to perfection, from the eggs to the crispy bacon and perfectly toasted bread. The staff are also lovely, friendly, and attentive, adding to the overall experience. While it might not be an everyday spot for the budget-conscious, it’s absolutely worth the splurge every now and then for a truly enjoyable breakfast.

4 Star Rating The restaurant is VERY small. It is recommended you make reservations. The food was very tasty and was served hot & fresh. The portion are a good size. The staff were friendly and attentive. The washrooms are in the basement (not wheelchair accessible) and could use an upgrade/update. It is located at Dundas St & Victoria St. Conveniently across from the CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre and near Dundas Square. Parking is available right next door (outdoor) or there is underground parking within a minute walk (less expensive)

5 Star Rating Without a doubt, these are the best mussels in Toronto. The sauce pairs perfectly with the mussels, and when the pot is opened, the steam rises. The service at this restaurant is impeccable. If I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would.

5 Star Rating The Senator is a timeless diner that keeps things classic—no fussy reinventions, just comfort food made with real quality. It’s the kind of place where lawyers, travelers, and suited regulars linger over a solid Americano or treat themselves to one of their sweet, decadent coffee creations. Bonus: there’s a full bar, too. We’re smitten with the Senator Signature Sandwich: pillowy challah—an enriched egg bread—is griddled into golden French toast, then layered with ham, melted Swiss, and mayo. Served with a side of maple syrup for that perfect sweet-savory touch. If you love a good club sandwich (and we definitely do), you’ll appreciate ths: tender roasted chicken breast—not deli meat—stacked with crisp bacon, fresh lettuce, and ripe tomato, mayo, on toasted challah. Simple and very satisfying. So not forget to order a side of their home fries!

5 Star Rating I came here yesterday while visiting Toronto with family. I have been looking for squash blossoms for over a year. When I finally found them at a different restaurant in California, they were poorly prepared but Terroni prepared them perfectly. Nice light crispy batter. My favorite was this grilled calamari salad. Nice and light and you could really taste the seafood. The outdoor patio was the perfect day to be at. Beautiful weather, nice and quiet but the most important thing about this restaurant was the service. The hostess was gracious and inviting and my waitress, Carmen was quite possibly the best waitress I’ve ever had. Making suggestions and since I was dining alone, she made me very comfortable and seemed to know my likings right away. I like it when the waitress checks back with you so you’re not waiting and she did just that-Efficient and I felt like a queen. Thank you, Carmen for making the whole restaurant experience and dining alone, such a perfect & wonderful day with a perfect wonderful meal.!

5 Star Rating Wonderful staff. Front hosts/reception is very welcoming and servers are kind and patient. Overall, the food is a good go to for simple and reliable Italian food. The fried calamari was the highlight of the dinner. Lightly crispy, not chewy and fresh. The atmosphere is superb especially the back patio on a sunny day.

5 Star Rating Our daughter invited us to Terroni restaurant for Mother's Day. The pasta, gnocchi, and pizza were all deliciously prepared. The highlight, though, was the dessert—specially made for the occasion. However, what was absolutely perfect to my taste, including the temperature, was the cappuccino. We love this restaurant. Please visit—it won’t disappoint

4 Star Rating We recently dined at Terroni and have very mixed feelings about the experience. Let me start by saying this: the food was phenomenal. My wife is from Italy, and even she was blown away — which is saying a lot. Everything we ordered, from the Carpaccio di Manzo to the Spaghetti al Limone and Caprese di Bufala, was bursting with fresh, authentic flavour. The ingredients were top-notch, and the execution was flawless. Easily a 10/10 on the culinary front. Now, the not-so-great part: the seating arrangement was extremely tight. We were just a couple out for dinner, but the tables were packed so closely together that I literally had to turn sideways and apologize to other guests just to get into my seat. There was absolutely no sense of privacy or intimacy — we could hear every breath and word from the couples next to us, and they could probably hear ours. It felt more like communal dining than a romantic evening out. To make matters worse, the temperature inside the restaurant was uncomfortably hot and humid. Within 10 minutes, I was ready to leave, and probably would have if not for my wife convincing me to stay. One other thing that caught my attention — while the restaurant proudly emphasizes its authentic Italian identity, I couldn't help but notice that everyone I saw working in the kitchen appeared to be South Asian. This isn’t a complaint, but more of a curiosity given the branding; the food clearly speaks for itself, regardless of who's behind the scenes. In short: come here for the food, without hesitation. But don’t come expecting a cozy, private, or relaxing dining environment — especially if you're hoping for a quiet dinner for two. Would we return? For takeout or a quieter location, absolutely.

5 Star Rating We had a beautiful 22nd anniversary night. We ordered from the extensive wine menu and picked BC merlot. It was very good and Canadian! My husband had the beef wellington (it was SO GOOD, it melts in your mouth, I sneaked a bite) and I had the steak diane. It was prepared at the table, nice experience. Very good meal. Next time I would try the special that they had for the evening or a steak itself. Afterwards we went down to the bar and spent the night listening to the amazing duo band Vince and Mike (we stayed because they were so good) and Darlo (awesome) the drink mixologist shared great tidbits of all the bottles that were at bar. We had a wonderful night.

We finished with the Bananas Foster, also made tableside, and it was the perfect ending. Sweet, warm, and delicious. The service was great and the whole experience felt special from start to finish. 5 Star Rating We had a fantastic time at 3 Brasseurs! From the moment we walked in, the place had a warm and inviting energy. Their in-house brewed beers were the highlight—rich in flavor, perfectly chilled, and full of character. Each of us tried a different type, and they all delivered. The food was just as impressive. The flatbread pizza was thin and crispy with the perfect balance of toppings and sauce drizzle—savory, creamy, and delicious in every bite. The poke bowl was fresh, colorful, and packed with flavor, a great lighter option that still felt indulgent. Service was friendly and fast, and the casual but vibrant atmosphere made it a great spot for catching up with friends. Whether you’re here for a pint or a full meal, 3 Brewers nails the balance between pub comfort and quality. Highly recommended!

3 Star Rating A group of us dropped by 3 Brasseurs at noon on a Friday, and the place was completely empty. Despite that, service was slow—we had to flag down our server a few times while the staff stood around chatting. Food-wise, the pizza was ok but nothing special. The chicken sliders were pretty sad—the patty was tiny, barely two-thirds the size of the slider bun. Bottom line: come for the beer, but don’t expect much from the food or service.

5 Star Rating We went for the Six Course Chef’s Tasting Menu as a family since I owed them a big favour recently. The menu probably changes with the seasons so I won’t get into every detail, but what really stood out was how thoughtfully each course was prepared and how approachable the flavors were. Even someone not familiar with Western fine dining would find it enjoyable. My mom usually sticks with Asian cuisine, so I was a little nervous about how she would take it. Watching her finish every plate, even down to the last drop of sauce, honestly made me smile the whole evening. The service added to it too. The servers were warm and attentive, and when I saw her make the effort to express her gratitude to them directly, I knew we were in the right place. For a first experience with a tasting menu like this, Richmond Station feels like the perfect spot. It goes beyond just being “delicious” and becomes a shared memory. The dining room was full, but everyone seemed happy and relaxed, and that energy made the night feel even more special. Richmond Station is now where I’d start if I ever wanted to introduce someone new to this kind of dining.

5 Star Rating This is hands down one of the best Western cuisine restaurants in downtown Toronto. I had the honour of attending my brother’s wedding reception here, and it did not disappoint. Every dish was seasoned and cooked to absolute perfection. The menu is unique and creative, yet everything works together harmoniously. The duck and the burger are absolute must-tries, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Dessert was also fantastic. Next time, I’d love to come with a large group so we can try a variety of dishes and really maximize the experience. Service was outstanding from start to finish. I’ll definitely be visiting again.

5 Star Rating The food and service here was top notch. Really enjoyed the lamb. The sour dough bread didn't look like much, but had an amazing chewy texture. Surprisingly good! We inhaled the scallops, they were so fresh. The hazelnut chocolate cake was enough for two people and was a great way to finish off the meal. To top it off, the server explicitly mentioned that they pay their servers a living wage and the bill was the final bill which was really refreshing!

5 Star Rating 4.5 stars. Tried the chef’s menu in June. Food was overall tasty, fairly priced for what it is ($129 pp). Understand the menu is seasonal in nature but was a bit too much asparagus for my taste. Bread was one of my favourite dishes. Service was fabulous as expected. 5 Star Rating As someone who is entrenched within Italian traditions and customs, finding an Italian restaurant that measures up to my Nonna's and mum's cooking is challenging. This is one of my most favourite Italian restaurants. The menu is inventive, everything is so fresh and delicious. Our server was unbelievably friendly and helpful, and he indulged Nonna's questions and conversations about her time in Sicily as a child. We started with the Caprese con Mozzarella di Bufala and Arancine Palermitane (stuffed with a Beef Ragu). Followed by a Prosciutto e Burrata pizza, and ended our meal with 2 scoops of Italian Gelato (lemon and chocolate) and a delicious Cannoli (probably one of the best I've ever had...so good, we ordered two more to go!), and a Cappuccino. It was a truly wonderful night out.

5 Star Rating I recently had the pleasure of dining at an incredible Italian restaurant, and it was an experience to remember! Every dish was bursting with flavor and prepared with such care that it felt like a true celebration of Italian cuisine. We started with a salad featuring creamy burrata, caramelized pear, and fresh greens—a perfect balance of sweet and savory. The pizza was a masterpiece, with a thin, crispy crust and rich toppings that made every bite a delight. The duck leg served with tender beans was cooked to perfection, offering a wonderful mix of textures and flavors. The halibut, paired with a fragrant herb and bacon , was a standout dish—light, aromatic, and absolutely delicious. The seafood pasta was another highlight, with fresh, perfectly cooked seafood and a flavorful sauce that tied it all together. Every dish felt fresh, thoughtfully crafted, and made with love. This restaurant truly captures the essence of Italian cooking, and I can’t wait to return!

3 Star Rating La Bettola di Terroni offers a cozy ambiance, but my experience was disappointing. The special deep-fried pizza was cold, dry, and hard, resembling a stale beaver tail. Pasta dishes were served warm rather than hot, even on a quiet Wednesday evening—an unacceptable lapse for a restaurant claiming authentic Italian quality. The service was nothing out of the ordinary, and sitting near the window in winter was uncomfortable due to a noticeable draft. Overall, the food and experience failed to meet expectations.

5 Star Rating A very nice Japanese sushi/sashimi-focused restaurant. ("Nami" means "wave" in Japanese, in case you’re wondering.) The food is excellent and very authentic. The restaurant is definitely on the expensive side, and it is à la carte only (no prix fixe or true omakase), but it’s worth it for special occasions. The interior décor could use a bit of a facelift, but I still recommend this place if you’re looking to experience real Japanese cuisine.

4 Star Rating I recently visited Nami, and I have to say the sushi was absolutely amazing—authentically prepared and full of fresh, rich flavours. The attention to detail in each dish was spot on, and every bite felt like a true taste of Japan. The atmosphere was also lovely, with a peaceful, traditional setting. However, I was a bit taken aback by the portion sizes considering the high prices. While the quality of the food definitely made up for a lot, I found myself wishing there was a bit more on the plate for what I was paying. For those looking for a hearty meal, the portions might leave you wanting. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it for the incredible sushi, but be prepared for the price and portions not to quite match up.

The pizza tasty.. light and flavourful crust but a bit flimsy.. asked well done but maybe too thin. the dessert tiramisù was one of the better ones I've had.. only 1 spot I could taste the dry cookie but still delicious. The wine 9oz glass was not cheap! I think it was 28.00. Insane! Service was good.

4 Star Rating Conveniently located inside Eaton Centre. Was able to walk in for dinner on a weekend and get a table right away. The restaurant has two floors, and the washrooms are upstairs. Washrooms are those private non gendered rooms that have everything you need inside, which is nice. I had the asparagus risotto. The texture of the rice was how I like it, with a bite to it. The risotto was creamy without being too runny or thick. It had a good flavour to it, and I liked the bits of asparagus. The shrimp was also cooked well and I thought the portion of the pieces were appropriate. Our server was pretty minimal with the interactions with our table. They took our order and then we talked to them to get our bills. Otherwise couldn’t really say much for service.

5 Star Rating Came here for lunch and didn’t wait long for a table. Our server Brae was friendly and helpful. The iron steak dish was so good, I ate the entire thing. The calamari is perfectly cooked and yummy! I also loved the tiramisu, a delicious classic dessert. Highly recommend!

5 Star Rating Absolutely loved my visit here! The food was incredible—flavourful, fresh, and definitely worth the price (which felt pretty reasonable, especially in today’s economy). I wish I remembered our server’s name because he was phenomenal—so attentive to every table and delivered outstanding service throughout. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, which added to the whole experience. Will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

5 Star Rating This must be the best breakfast place in town — it’s gotta be! The portion sizes were just right — not overwhelming, but perfectly satisfying. The kid’s pancake came as a single stack, which was exactly enough. I had the avocado toast, my go-to breakfast item, and this one stood out in the best way. Topped with olives, feta cheese, and red onion, it was a unique twist I hadn’t tried before — and it really worked. The service was excellent — our server was so friendly and welcoming. Best of all, the prices were very reasonable, especially for the quality of food and experience. The place was busy, with nearly every table full, which made it clear this is a local favorite. We had a great time!

3 Star Rating For my girls trip we wanted breakfast everyday but with Carnival Ha! We never made it. However, we wanted to try this location on our last day! We travelled here and waited 10-15mins to get seated once seated we ordered drinks and food. Waited 35mins for food to get to our table with 3/4 orders to be completely cold when it hit the table. Then when asked for a replacement, the waiter was willing to accommodate but we would miss our train. The waiter did replace 2/4 potatoes for us to take to go but we never got to eat it since we had to hurry to travel back home. Overall it was not worth going to in my opinion, it was too busy and not well staffed. The wait times were longer than anticipated but the waiter was willing to work with us. We wished that we had a better experience but we will not return to this location. We only ate due to being hungry and running late due to the wait times. Oh and my friend was disappointed in her strawberry cheesecake French toast. It was just french toast with a ton of cheesecake or some type of frosting topped with strawberries. I don’t eat this so I maybe explaining the ingredients all wrong haha but it is what it looks like. If you are in the area then give it a try at your own risk.

3 Star Rating One time I had a burger here and it felt like I was eating a car tire. I think the patty was in the freezer for like 5 years there’s no other explanation. Other than that the pancakes and the service was pretty good.

5 Star Rating My visit was to the Rhichmond street location. The atmosphere was exactly what you'd expect from a bustling breakfast place: bright, cheerful, and filled with the comforting aroma of sizzling bacon. The friendly chatter of patrons mixed with the clatter of plates created a vibrant, energetic buzz. The menu at Sunset Grill is a classic homage to breakfast staples. From fluffy omelets overflowing with fillings to stacks of pancakes drenched in syrup, there's something to satisfy every craving. I opted for their signature Classic Breakfast – two eggs, ham, golden brown home fries, and toast. It's a simple choice, I know, but a true test of a breakfast establishment. And let me tell you, Sunset Grill delivered. The eggs were cooked perfectly to order, the ham was satisfyingly crisp without being burnt, and the home fries were seasoned just right. Beyond the classic breakfast, I also noticed several tempting options on the menu. The Belgian waffles looked incredibly tempting, piled high with fresh fruit and whipped cream. And the Eggs Benedict, a brunch favorite, seemed to be a popular choice among other diners. I'll definitely be back to try those next time! While the food was undoubtedly the highlight, the service was also noteworthy. Our server was attentive and friendly, ensuring our coffee cups were always full and checking in regularly. It's those small details that truly elevate the dining experience. Overall, my experience at Sunset Grill was a positive one.
