Good cooking. Cantonese food trying to serve like french cuisine. Fine dining. Good presentation. Services are also good. Thanks to the manager Terrance. This is a restaurant opened to get a share of the Mott32 market. RECOMMENDED

First time coming back after renovation. The whole experience was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. The service here is truly top-tier.
The manager, Franky (who wears glasses), was incredibly welcoming. He has a warm, genuine smile and consistently checked in to ensure everything was perfect. His attention to detail and care for our dining experience was remarkable!
Our servers, Randy and Dylan, were equally fantastic—attentive, polite, and very thoughtful. As a wonderful surprise for my birthday, they brought out a complimentary dessert, which was a lovely and much-appreciated gesture.
Of course, the food was beautiful and delicious. Every dish we ordered was flavorful and expertly prepared. I cannot recommend here highly enough. It was a perfect experience thanks to Franky, Randy, and Dylan. We will definitely be returning!

An elevated take on Chinese cuisine, this restaurant delivers both impeccable flavors and exceptional service. Each dish is thoughtfully crafted with premium ingredients, balancing authenticity and sophistication in every bite. The staff are attentive and genuine, creating a seamless dining experience that feels both refined and welcoming. From the uni and shaved truffles to as simple as hot and sour soup, every detail reflects care, precision, and passion. A true standout for modern Chinese dining.

Came here for dinner and the vibe, food and service were all top notch. The food is unlike anything I’ve tried before and you can just tell alot of thought has been put into each and every ingredient. I love how comfortable yet luxe the place feels- i’ll definitely be back again to try more of their stuff!

The best dim sum in Toronto. They have some unique tea leaves to choose from compare to other dim sum place. Dim sum were refined. I like all of them except the milk tart was a bit different than what they have described, they said it's a dragonfruit milk tart, but we couldn't taste the dragonfruit, i think it's only for the color. Overall we had a very nice experience at Lai Wah Heen and we will definitely come back for dim sum and dinner.

Feels like my auntie just made me breakfast. Ordered Karine's supreme and added side salad, $27 including tip split between two people. Great flavour, tastes like home cooking. Fries are homemade hand cut, I liked the garlic but will try the home fries next time. They also have great take away containers. Love to Karine and her staff, will be back!

Karine's is a treasure! It's been a long time since I've had the chance to eat in this area, and I immediately came here. I ordered a breakfast special mini and a green lemonade (with spinach, how cool is that!). This was not mini - it was a wonderful, delicious, filling meal. I had the eggs over easy, garlic fries, sausage. Such amazing value, such vibrant and juicy flavours, and look at all the fruit! And a giant glass bottle of fresh lemon-lime water on top of that! The staff are always so sweet and lovely; it really is like coming to your favourite restaurant where everyone knows you, but as a charming food court stall bursting with colour and life.
Grateful you're still here! We're so lucky to have a place like this in Toronto!

Wow, i have celiacs disease and the food and staff were amazing. Just about everything can be made gluten free and the food was fantastic. The amount of food was almost too much (in a good way) and the plating was very well done. I had the breakfast sandwich one day and was so impressed I went back again the next day to get the Karines Supreme with gluten free French toast. I gave the atmosphere a 4 star since it’s in a cafeteria, but it was clean and the service was really exceptional. My partner had the regular Karines supreme breakfast and he also was impressed with his meal.

truly an incredible experience for a food court! the lovely woman who took our orders was so warm and welcoming, she came over to our table and wiped it down, and delivered our food to the table with flowers! my friend got a pink lemonade and i didn’t, but she gave me a free one too! truly special and feels like home!

Karine’s is a great cultural experience! In the heart of a food court you order and are served at your table. They bring condiments, water and cutlery to your table and food is served on beautiful dishes. The food was excellent and so fresh! The price is exceptionally reasonable!

If you are looking for a truly authentic Hakka experience (yong tau foo, muy choy kau yok and others), come to this place.
Friendly staff who have been working here for years, some since the beginning.
Food is awesome, even when compared to Hakka restaurants in Kepong. Definitely a must visit. (Hope I can get them to make deep fried sui kow, pigs trotters cooked in sweetened vinegar, wutao chi yok and cha chi yok).

This was my first time at Yueh Tung Restaurant and I can honestly say it’s a hidden gem in the city! We dined in as a family of five and were blown away by the experience. The portions are huge, the food is authentic Hakka cuisine, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious.
The staff were so welcoming and pleasant, which made the atmosphere even better. It felt like a place with real heart and tradition behind it. I only wish I had discovered this restaurant sooner! We’ll definitely be coming back again and again.

One of the first Chinese Hakka restaurants in downtown Toronto, and it truly delivers!
We ordered the beef fried rice, chili chicken on a sizzling skillet, and fried calamari. Everything was delicious. The chili chicken had that perfect Hakka-style spice and came out sizzling hot, the beef fried rice was flavorful and well-portioned, and the calamari was crispy without being greasy. On top of that, the service was fast and friendly. I’ll definitely be back anytime I’m in the heart of downtown Toronto.

I have a ton of respect for the family-owned business and their story, and want to see local businesses succeed. I think if you're looking for some food that's going to fill your belly for ~$20, then this is perfect for you.
In my opinion, the food is okay. Stopped in on a Wednesday and decided to try the Wednesday special which comes with an egg roll, pop, and Manchurian chicken. The egg roll feels like it's a Costco egg roll - it actually tastes exactly the same as the frozen ones my family used to buy growing up. And the Manchurian chicken, like some of the other dishes here (I've had the chili chicken in the past) comes drenched in sauce that for me feels like it has too much corn starch.
But, the people here are nice and the place seems pretty busy, so maybe it's just not for me! I will say the meat portion is generous.

My friends and I came for dinner last night and it was fantastic. We had a great seat near the open wall and the food was impeccable. We all ordered something different so we can all try one another’s food. It was all 10/10. Smoked German sausages were so delicious. They also had pretty cool cocktails and the strawberry beer was 20/10

Sin & Redemption has a nice vibe and the service was genuinely good — the staff was friendly and attentive. The ambiance is also enjoyable for a night out. However, I found the prices a bit too high for what was offered. The food didn’t quite meet my expectations, and overall, it didn’t feel worth the price. While the place has potential, the quality of the dishes doesn’t match the cost.

There are many great beer selections available on tap. The atmosphere is excellent, and the prices are reasonable. It is located near the AGO and OCAD, close to popular areas like Osgood, making it a perfect place to stop by for some amazing beers!

Fantastic Belgian & German Bar with Top-Notch Beer Selection
If you’re into Belgian and German beers, this place is a must-visit. The beer list is incredible—both on tap and in bottles—featuring a wide range of classic and hard-to-find brews from Belgium and Germany. Whether you’re a fan of rich Trappist ales or crisp German lagers, you’ll find something to love.
The food is solid, with a menu that complements the beer perfectly. Don’t miss the schnitzels—they’re crispy, flavorful, and generously portioned. A great spot for both beer enthusiasts and anyone looking for a cozy, authentic European vibe. Highly recommend!

Japango in downtown Toronto is a modern Japanese restaurant that offers a casual yet polished dining experience. Located in a central area, it is easily accessible and popular with both locals and visitors. The interior is sleek and contemporary, with a minimalist design that creates a comfortable environment for both small groups and solo diners.
The menu focuses on sushi, sashimi, and Japanese-inspired dishes, with an emphasis on fresh ingredients and precise presentation. Sushi rolls and nigiri are prepared with attention to balance and flavour, while other options, such as donburi bowls and grilled dishes, offer variety for those seeking more than raw preparations. Portions are moderate, allowing diners to sample multiple items in one visit.
Service at Japango is generally attentive and professional, maintaining a calm and welcoming atmosphere. Prices are in line with quality and location, offering reasonable value for downtown Toronto standards. While the restaurant is casual, it maintains a refined approach to food presentation and ingredient selection.
Overall, Japango provides a reliable Japanese dining experience in the heart of the city. Its combination of fresh ingredients, varied menu, and modern, comfortable setting makes it a practical choice for lunch, dinner, or casual meetups in downtown Toronto.

If you’re after an authentic Japanese dining experience in Downtown Toronto, this spot is a must-visit. Though it’s a cozy space, the decor and seating will instantly transport you to the heart of Tokyo. I tried the sashimi bento and absolutely loved it, fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Plus, the service was warm and friendly.

Haven’t visited in years, but they’re still as good as I remembered them to be. The sushi chefs are meticulous in making each piece of sushi, and I love that they’re not heavy handed in adding too much rice. Highly recommend a visit! Really great value for the quality.
Sylvia Lee - a month ago
Japango has been a reliable sushi spot for me — usually fresh, flavourful, and well-prepared. It’s a tiny place with very limited seating, so it’s best for quick takeout, and they typically have orders ready in about 15 minutes. Prices run a bit above average, but the quality has generally made it worthwhile.
That said, my most recent order fell short. The tuna wasn’t as fresh as it should be and had an off taste, which was disappointing compared to their usual standard. Overall, still an okay option, but this last visit brings it down to around 2.5–3/5.
Nate Miro - a week ago
First time here and the atmosphere was very pleasant. It didn’t have a really fishy smell like some other restaurants I’ve been to. Came in for a takeout but stayed since it was so nice. My order came out super fast too. I’ll definitely be a regular!!

Talk about value for your money, indulge in as much Indian food as you can handle at this quaint lunch buffet, with a rather diverse and delicious selection of eats, considering the price and unlimited refills. Dishes you wanna snag right away are the sweet and creamy butter chicken, tender goat curry, and smoky tandoori chicken. There's also a salad bar so you don't feel so guilty, along with a variety of chutneys and a personalized basket of freshly grilled, ultra-fluffy butter naan.

Visited this very fine Indian restaurant on a Saturday for their lunch buffet. The restaurant quickly filled with ethnic Indians who knew this place had amazing Indian food, friendly staff, and welcoming service. The host continuously checked on us and encouraged us to try more but we were quickly full. The quality and quantity of the dishes we sampled were all generous and outstanding. The goat curry had huge pieces of goat, the tandoori chicken was succulent, and the paneer was homemade and absolutely amazing. We tried a little of everything (see pictures) and wished we could eat more. This is a great Indian restaurant and we'll be back.

First time visiting with some friends for dinner - had a great experience! We got the lamb roganjosh, butter chicken, and kadhai chicken with rice and naan. The food was flavorful and fresh, and was a respectable portion. Our server, Mamun, was also very hospitable - enjoyed chatting with him and appreciated his recommendations. Would definitely come again!

If you used to Tim Hortons coffee, the small size is equivalent to their medium size. I recently spent $15 on a simple sandwich here, only to discover that it was not fresh and had been made the day before.

Every time I step into this beautiful cafe (open for thirteen years) I’m delighted with the unique and hospitable experience - nourishing and inviting. Now, sitting at the window counter, I’m eyeing the lunch treats and the freezer for take outs… maybe later on my way back from the AGO - just a few minutes walk from here. I savoured a custom latte with an oatmeal cranberry cookie as I thought about posting this review. So here it is. And, I’m ready to enjoy the incredible art at the gallery. Thank you again Cafe Plenty. See you soon.

Shady place.
Doesn’t have prices on the menu, went there expecting the sandwiches to be $6-8, turned out to be $14.
They don’t have prices on their menu.
The sandwich was like an airport sandwich dry and didn’t have much taste and too much bread in proportion to the filling.
It comes with a small side of salad which was decent but the dressing from the salad leaked all over the sandwich.
Go across the street to the food court, you will be much happier with the food

I’ve been to Don Don several times now, and this is a place that I think of for having drinks and some food in a vibey place. I like the music they play too, which is a mix of Western Hip-Hop and also Japanese hits. They play some curated throwback music.
The staff are friendly, but the culture seems to be more that you have to wave them down rather than them checking on you. They’re otherwise focusing on their own tasks it seems like.
The ‘Dice Challenge’ has been a consistent feature of theirs: $9.5 a try, you drink what you roll, and the higher the number the higher the value of the drink. Getting one and one is a glass of coke, and the highest seems to be a $30 sake shot.
They have other fun drinking options, like a bunch of sake flights, a Sake Bomb contest, and this Polar Beer that’s a Sapporo topped with subzero beer slush.
The food is decent, but wouldn’t say it’s the highlight. The chicken karaage has a nice crispy texture on the exterior and good seasoning. The sushi is not the best, but it’s decent.

Both times I’ve visited I’ve had Yurika (I hope I spelled that right) as my server and she is so welcoming and overall a lovely person (and an attentive server) 😊 I ordered the tonkotsu black each time and it always tastes fresh and flavourful. I think the price is pretty good too (I also got a drink so the total came to about 23$). I will for sure be back next time I’m craving a bowl of ramen and hope to try some of their other menu items ! (I got a yuzu cheesecake to-go but am saving it for tomorrow so can’t comment on the taste yet 😆)
