🍤 Right for your pockets, fair for your stomach.
🍲 I love the rice, and the fact that almost every dish here comes with it, automatically is a delight for my tummy. However, the staff could be nicer and clean. But this and other Ginger restaurants in the city are very well adorned. Definitely a good restaurant. 🍜

They have vegan options like veggies broth, veggies noodles soup, veggies rolls etc. I like their tum yum soup noodles.
Pretty big restaurant. Not crowded when I went. Fast efficiency service. Fair price, just would suggest if they can provide bigger portion that will be better.
Recommend tum yum noodles soup and veggies fresh rolls.

Self served style that has decent quality of food and the portion size is ample. Plenty of seats. It is a nice neighbourhood restaurant that is good for conversation. You also don't feel pressured to vacate your seat even when you finished your meal. The pho looked small but it's actually quite enough for a person's portion.

The food here is usually great, rarely is something not good. We got the coconut shrimp & chicken soup and the pho with beef (rare) and some salad roles! They are also one of the few spots to carry Jumex (a delicious Mexican juice brand).
Prices are reasonable and the location is pretty spacious with a good amount of seating and a good view towards the street. Service could be a little friendlier overall.

I have known of Bumpkins back in the early 80’s as I dined there at a work company Christmas party.
Just this past summer I was looking for a nice quiet restaurant and Bumpkins came to mind, I wondered if they were still around? I was surprised to see they are still around.
By chance on a walk around along Yonge St looking for a place to have dinner, I was at the corner of Gloucester and Yonge St, I went into Bumpkins and had the

I prefer dining at restaurants like Bumpkins, nice background music, you can have a great conversation with your family and friends or if you are having a business dinner, without having to speak loudly over loud music at the other restaurant in Toronto. I highly recommend Bumpkins, they also have a great Brunch Menu

My husband and I had an amazing supper here! It’s always rewarding to dine in such a special, historic place, but having the owner personally serve our meal at the highest standards made the evening truly exceptional. The care they take in preparing real food—where every delicate flavor shines through—makes a big difference. Fresh flowers on the table added a charming touch. We’ll definitely be back. Prices are very reasonable considering the outstanding quality of both food and service. Highly recommended!

Beautiful rustic atmosphere, it was warm and welcoming. The food was good and reasonably priced (must get the mussels, so fresh and flavourful!!!), the drinks were delicious, but the real highlight was the exceptional service. Min went above and beyond, constantly checking in, making sure we were comfortable, and adding such a friendly, personable energy to the whole experience. You could tell he genuinely cared and enjoyed being there. This truly elevated our visit!

My fiancee, Katrina and I had our intimate Engagement dinner here in the small private room with Min as our host.
Service, food and hospitality was above and beyond. A great night, highly recommend Bumpkins to anyone!

First time here for dinner. The place carries a heavy sense of nostalgia. Big bright space with huge paintings.
Firstly the staff are super friendly and professional with fantastic service. The location felt a bit empty.
We started with some cocktails. Their cocktails are very decent and the wine menu is priced well. We had appetizers and mains.
Their cocktails baked rolls were hot and fresh and went well with our snails. For mains we had Canard a l'orange and Lamb.
Sadly our mains were a little disappointing. For the price I was expecting a better quality of main, tough meat that was lacking flavour.
I’m a sting believer in supporting local business and would definitely want to see this place do well.

It was my first time trying Ethiopian food, and the way it was served and eaten felt very new to me. Eating with my hands without any utensils was a bit challenging at first. Overall, it was a good one-time experience, but I don’t think I would try it again.

Great food and atmosphere! Service is good and if you don’t know anything about Ethiopian food, just ask for their specialties, they are superb! Coffee was excellent and on another level. Loved the experience at this place :)

My girlfriend wanted to try Ethiopian House, so we went. The place is small but cozy, and the interiors are really nice, warm and inviting.
We had a meat dish that was a bit dry, and the food was a little spicy, but not too much. The flavors were okay, but the portions felt small for the price, so it seemed a bit expensive.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, but I’m not sure I’d be in a hurry to go back. Still worth checking out if you want to try something different.

First time trying Ethiopian food and honestly I was blown away. It was absolutely delicious. The gentleman who served us too was pleasant and accommodating as we'd a child with us and didn't want anything spicy for them. The atmosphere It almost felt homely. Will definitely be back.

This was one of my most unique food experiences. Right after I ordered the power went out for the whole block. I waited a few minutes and the server brought my food out and mentioned that he wanted me to eat and he didn’t know if payment would work or not, but his genuine concern was with me enjoying their food! Sitting in the dark, I really enjoyed the food. I would definitely come back.

Two great visits on quiet Thursday nights. Matt was behind the bar both nights, a cool, friendly, welcoming person. And the second time the most lovely Souhail was also working. I just had wine but the cocktails look amazing. This is a place to talk, it’s not too loud. I felt very at home and the place just feels welcoming and kind of intimate in a non-sleezy way.

Today we visited this pizzeria. I’ve often noticed it on my way home — it really catches the eye from the street. The interior is cozy and beautiful, and the large windows make the place feel warm and comfortable.
The staff were very friendly, and there was a great variety of pizzas to choose from. We decided to go with a classic — a slice of pepperoni pizza — and we didn’t regret it at all! It was delicious, with thin, perfectly baked dough and just the right amount of crispness.
Will I come back again? Yes, definitely! To write a more complete and honest review, I’ll return for a whole pizza next time.
Pros: friendly staff, cleanliness, great pizza selection, convenient location, and cozy interior.
Cons: none so far.

Ordered wings well done and they came with the flesh looking uncooked.. only thing edible that night was the wedges .. 3 stars because of the wings but the lady in the front was real nice so would give them another try only because I’ve had pizza nova from other locations and the wings are never under cooked especially when I ask for well done! Check your food before leaving.

Exactly what you expect — hot, cheesy, and hits the spot. No surprises here (in a good way).
Classic chain-style pizza, fast delivery, and everything was made right.
The pizza box is already empty, if that tells you anything. Sometimes you just want the reliable comfort of a familiar slice — and this delivered.
I recommend thin crust. It's always done right!
Check for great deals on Uber Eats.
Will definitely order again when the craving hits.

We order from this location often and they NEVER disappoint - 10/10 every time!! Sometimes we want different toppings or requests and they always follow through no matter what it is, if they don’t have what you’re asking for they make sure to call you and give you other alternatives. The delivery guys are amazing as well, super nice and friendly! Thank you for the 2 cans, much appreciated and super thoughtful! 😀

We had the butter chicken and paneer makhani and both were excellent! We also ordered garlic naan and it was given to us free of charge (I think something about the size being small, so we were given two complimentary servings). This was my first time eating fresh garlic naan, and it was so, so good. There was only one waitress, but she was attentive and checked in frequently. Spice level 2 is good for people who can tolerate some spice but aren't sure where to start.

I’m a fan of goat meat and it’s tough to find good quality mutton in Toronto.
Kothur, their goat saag is more than just delightful! The food is absolutely top-tier but their warm welcome and service is simply a cherry on the cake.

Kothur Indian cuisine is small and quiet place to have an authentic mostly South Indian food. I used to work nearby 2 years back and was a frequent customer to this place. Recently I visited again, the place is still running and I happy to see that it is busier than usual. Their food is delicious especially the Gobi Manchurian. We also had malai kofta and panner butter masala which were tasty. I really liked the utensils in which they served food. It’s Classic. Their focus is on food and not on bar which is perfect to have a meal. Will definitely keep coming back.

I visited Kothur Indian Cuisine and the food was absolutely delicious! I ordered Dal Makhni, Paneer, Naan, and Gobi Manchurian — everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The spices were well-balanced, and the naan was soft and warm, just the way I like it.
The only downside was that I noticed a few house flies around, which was a bit off-putting. Apart from that, the service was friendly, and the portion sizes were great for the price.
If you’re in the area and craving authentic Indian food, this place is definitely worth trying — just hope they manage the fly issue better in the future.

I visited The Halal Guys for the first time and I’m honestly impressed! The chicken was incredibly tasty, the rice was fresh, and the bread was perfectly crispy. Their sauces were absolutely delicious — especially the famous white sauce. Everything was fresh, flavourful, and well-prepared. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Super fast service and they're friendly enough. Food is always tasty and hot.
I always like the bowls for the variety since it comes with rice, bread, a protein or two of your choice, and vegetables of your choice topped with an abundance of white and if you want red sauce. You can also get the red sauce on the side which you will want to do unless you have a high spice tolerance.
The prices are reasonable especially in the area and the portions are huge.
I have never seen it busy but have only been on weekday nights at dinner time.
It's definitely a place where they offer seating but you are ignored unless you return to the counter. They do clean tables but you are expected to dispose of your own trash and keep the place as clean as you found it. Don't go if you're expecting a restaurant with attentive service. Do go if you want good food.
They do have a student discount if you have a student card.

Best place for poke bowls! I got introduced to this place by a colleague and at first, I was sceptical because I normally don’t like eating vegetables, but this bowl ended up being the best thing I’ve ever tasted. To the point that I made a dedicated post about it online since I ate EVERYTHING. I always think about this bowl. I find myself always ordering this Kauai bowl specifically whenever I get the chance. Really recommend it if you like raw salmon and tuna. Order it with avocado! You won’t regret it.

I'd tried a bunch of poke bowl places downtown Toronto, but a few friends and I found ourselves in the area, and after a quick google search and some decent reviews we figured we'd give Hoki Poke a try.
Overall great food. We all had different bowls and the salmon and tuna were very fresh. The cucumber, edamame, seaweed salad, corn leafy greens were also very fresh. We were also fortunate enough to try their takoyaki and dumplings, which is the only reason this is 4/5. The poke bowls were top notch, but unfortunately the takoyaki was a little dry, despite having sauce drizzled on it. Still though, great taste and flavor, and amazing service by the staff.

Good portion sizes, pretty good taste, friendly and efficient service. Bonus points for the super colourful decor that gave the place a lively vibe.
Stopped by for lunch and got:
- Khao Soi Pu Nim: Curry was thick and tasty. Decent size for the soft shell crab.
- Tom Yum Fried Rice with Shrimp: Great heat and strong flavours with the rice. Would have liked a bit more shrimp.
- Laab Calamari: Well copled though weirdly a bit bland.
Overall, a pretty good Thai spot if you're in the area.

Glad we made it to Si Lom Thai Bistro after missing it the night before, well worth the visit!
🧆 Food:
I ordered the red chili curry, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were bold and well-balanced, with just the right level of spice, and the portion size was generous. Each bite had a depth of flavor that made it feel carefully crafted and satisfying.
👥 Service:
Service was quick, polite, and attentive throughout our meal. The staff checked in regularly to make sure everything was to our liking, making the experience feel personal and well-managed. Even during a busy period, they handled everything efficiently and with a smile.
🎨 Aesthetic:
The bistro has ample seating with a chill, sleek vibe that makes it a comfortable spot to enjoy a meal. The modern décor combined with warm lighting creates a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.

Came on a really hot day, was a bit disappointed that the interior wasn't air conditioned, but the decor in the restaurant is really nice and unique in my opinion.
Unfortunately I thought the food was only okay. The food presentation is pretty lazy. The flavours were okay, but the portion sizes were a little light considering the price. I don't eat Thai food too often because it's usually too heavy for me, but I somehow left feeling pretty hungry after eating a $20+ pad thai.
The menu has a lot of disclaimers...so at least they're stated there. But call me old fashioned but it's usually not a good sign when a restaurant needs disclaimers like "images are for illustrative purposes only" or "prices are subject to change without prior notice"

Had an amazing meal at Si Lom Thai Bistro! The pad Thai was perfectly balanced—flavourful, not too sweet, and loaded with fresh ingredients. The real standout was the panang fish—rich, creamy curry with tender fish that melted in my mouth. Great atmosphere and friendly service too.
