4 Star Rating They have vegan options like veggies broth, veggies noodles soup, veggies rolls etc. I like their tum yum soup noodles. Pretty big restaurant. Not crowded when I went. Fast efficiency service. Fair price, just would suggest if they can provide bigger portion that will be better. Recommend tum yum noodles soup and veggies fresh rolls.

4 Star Rating Self served style that has decent quality of food and the portion size is ample. Plenty of seats. It is a nice neighbourhood restaurant that is good for conversation. You also don't feel pressured to vacate your seat even when you finished your meal. The pho looked small but it's actually quite enough for a person's portion.

5 Star Rating The food here is usually great, rarely is something not good. We got the coconut shrimp & chicken soup and the pho with beef (rare) and some salad roles! They are also one of the few spots to carry Jumex (a delicious Mexican juice brand). Prices are reasonable and the location is pretty spacious with a good amount of seating and a good view towards the street. Service could be a little friendlier overall.

5 Star Rating Beautiful rustic atmosphere, it was warm and welcoming. The food was good and reasonably priced (must get the mussels, so fresh and flavourful!!!), the drinks were delicious, but the real highlight was the exceptional service. Min went above and beyond, constantly checking in, making sure we were comfortable, and adding such a friendly, personable energy to the whole experience. You could tell he genuinely cared and enjoyed being there. This truly elevated our visit!

5 Star Rating My first experience at Bumpkin's was for my brother-in-law's wedding back in 1987.  After that, my husband & I dined here for special occasions when our kids were young.  Most recently, on May 14, 2025, we celebrated our son and his fiancee's engagement.  Min (Owner) hosted the engagement dinner for our party of 12 in the private dining room.  The room was intimate with a great ambiance. The food was EXCELLENT, the portions were big for a reasonable price and service was impeccable. Min went above and beyond to make this a truly memorable night for both families. Thank you Min for everything!!!  You are truly a great host and we highly recommend Bumpkin's. Hope to see you again!

5 Star Rating Had a lovely brunch/lunch girls reunion where we frequented this restaurant early in our careers over 30 plus years ago. Highly nostalgic for us. Sat outside in their front patio which was lovely but could have more greenery. Min, one of the owners is the STAR of this restaurant, personable , helpful, professional and proactive. Has the right balance of being friendly but giving us space. He took photos for us, gave the bill /served one of the ladies who had to go back to work, told us the history of the restaurant- him and his business partner Tony have owned it since 2005 and basically left it alone. Gorgeous Chandeliers are from the Royal York Hotel. Beautiful huge painting. Food is reasonably priced and large portions. Restaurant could be more cozy...feels a bit too empty. Key here is the outstanding service and good food that is reasonably priced with large portions. So nice to see Min so passionate about what he does. A neighbourhood gem.

4 Star Rating First time here for dinner. The place carries a heavy sense of nostalgia. Big bright space with huge paintings. Firstly the staff are super friendly and professional with fantastic service. The location felt a bit empty. We started with some cocktails. Their cocktails are very decent and the wine menu is priced well. We had appetizers and mains. Their cocktails baked rolls were hot and fresh and went well with our snails. For mains we had Canard a l'orange and Lamb. Sadly our mains were a little disappointing. For the price I was expecting a better quality of main, tough meat that was lacking flavour. I’m a sting believer in supporting local business and would definitely want to see this place do well.

3 Star Rating Pizza Nova offers a solid pizza experience at a reasonable price. I recently visited and tried their combo deal, which included two pizzas of my choice for around $20. Given the price, I wasn’t expecting anything extraordinary, but I was pleasantly surprised. The pizzas were fresh, well-made, and had a good balance of toppings and cheese. The crust was just the right mix of crispy and soft, making for an enjoyable bite. The place itself was decent—nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable enough to sit and eat. It had a casual atmosphere, perfect for a quick meal. The staff were kind and welcoming, which added to the positive experience. They prepared my order quickly and made sure everything was to my liking. Overall, Pizza Nova is a good option if you’re looking for an affordable and tasty meal. While it may not be the best pizza I’ve ever had, it definitely delivers in terms of value for money. If you’re in the mood for a quick, satisfying bite without spending too much, this is a great choice. I’d definitely consider coming back for another combo deal

3 Star Rating My girlfriend wanted to try Ethiopian House, so we went. The place is small but cozy, and the interiors are really nice, warm and inviting. We had a meat dish that was a bit dry, and the food was a little spicy, but not too much. The flavors were okay, but the portions felt small for the price, so it seemed a bit expensive. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, but I’m not sure I’d be in a hurry to go back. Still worth checking out if you want to try something different.

I just had wine but the cocktails look amazing. This is a place to talk, it’s not too loud. I felt very at home and the place just feels welcoming and kind of intimate in a non-sleezy way.

5 Star Rating Beautifully renovated space, genuinely kind & friendly staff, and the owner seems very lovely and passionate. It's not easy to hold onto these queer spaces and keep them thriving! I especially love the quiet little back patio, the staff will come take your order back there so you don't have to get up . The stairs back there are a little uneven so be careful (I would suggest they paint the tips of the stairs to make the edges more visible).

5 Star Rating Kothur Indian cuisine is small and quiet place to have an authentic mostly South Indian food. I used to work nearby 2 years back and was a frequent customer to this place. Recently I visited again, the place is still running and I happy to see that it is busier than usual. Their food is delicious especially the Gobi Manchurian. We also had malai kofta and panner butter masala which were tasty. I really liked the utensils in which they served food. It’s Classic. Their focus is on food and not on bar which is perfect to have a meal. Will definitely keep coming back.

5 Star Rating Kothur has been living to the standards consistently for so many years now. We used to be regulars pre Covid and during Covid after we moved out and the food was amazing at the time. When we visited last week it was the same. Amazing taste and reasonable prices. The restaurant is clean, the services are good and the ambience and choice of songs even better. We had Kadhai Paneer, Jeera Aloo and Butter Tandoori Roti. All three tasted good, serving size was enough for two as well.

4 Star Rating I visited Kothur Indian Cuisine and the food was absolutely delicious! I ordered Dal Makhni, Paneer, Naan, and Gobi Manchurian — everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The spices were well-balanced, and the naan was soft and warm, just the way I like it. The only downside was that I noticed a few house flies around, which was a bit off-putting. Apart from that, the service was friendly, and the portion sizes were great for the price. If you’re in the area and craving authentic Indian food, this place is definitely worth trying — just hope they manage the fly issue better in the future.

4 Star Rating I'd tried a bunch of poke bowl places downtown Toronto, but a few friends and I found ourselves in the area, and after a quick google search and some decent reviews we figured we'd give Hoki Poke a try. Overall great food. We all had different bowls and the salmon and tuna were very fresh. The cucumber, edamame, seaweed salad, corn leafy greens were also very fresh. We were also fortunate enough to try their takoyaki and dumplings, which is the only reason this is 4/5. The poke bowls were top notch, but unfortunately the takoyaki was a little dry, despite having sauce drizzled on it. Still though, great taste and flavor, and amazing service by the staff.

3 Star Rating Came on a really hot day, was a bit disappointed that the interior wasn't air conditioned, but the decor in the restaurant is really nice and unique in my opinion. Unfortunately I thought the food was only okay. The food presentation is pretty lazy. The flavours were okay, but the portion sizes were a little light considering the price. I don't eat Thai food too often because it's usually too heavy for me, but I somehow left feeling pretty hungry after eating a $20+ pad thai. The menu has a lot of disclaimers...so at least they're stated there. But call me old fashioned but it's usually not a good sign when a restaurant needs disclaimers like "images are for illustrative purposes only" or "prices are subject to change without prior notice"
