They have vegan options like veggies broth, veggies noodles soup, veggies rolls etc. I like their tum yum soup noodles.
Pretty big restaurant. Not crowded when I went. Fast efficiency service. Fair price, just would suggest if they can provide bigger portion that will be better.
Recommend tum yum noodles soup and veggies fresh rolls.

It is pretty good place with a lot of options that you could choose, but the real minus is that here it is small portion for the price that they offer. Tasty is okay, it is nothing special, but not bad, good place to come if you love pho, but again pretty expensive

2025: Chicken, beef, shrimp dinner for a snowy Saturday night. Delicious.
2023: Such pleasant table service. Sitting by the window and enjoying the view while munching on a crispy shrimp roll and rare beef Pho. The raspberry cheese cake and coffee were a nice finishing touch.
2016: Where can you get a proper meal on Church Street for 10 dollars? Ginger is where.
OK so I added a shrimp roll but that bowl of beef Pho is large as in capital L large.
Casual setting. Order your meal at the counter, have a seat & you'll have your meal promptly delivered to your table.
Note the small stand by the entrance for self serve ice water, lime wedges, serviettes and various condiments.

This is the go-to place in the Village for myself and my friends for Vietnamese food. I almost always order No. 44 (pictured) since it has everything. You can (as I do) ask for pad Thai to be substituted for rice.

The food here is usually great, rarely is something not good. We got the coconut shrimp & chicken soup and the pho with beef (rare) and some salad roles! They are also one of the few spots to carry Jumex (a delicious Mexican juice brand).
Prices are reasonable and the location is pretty spacious with a good amount of seating and a good view towards the street. Service could be a little friendlier overall.

My first experience at Bumpkin's was for my brother-in-law's wedding back in 1987. After that, my husband & I dined here for special occasions when our kids were young. Most recently, on May 14, 2025, we celebrated our son and his fiancee's engagement. Min (Owner) hosted the engagement dinner for our party of 12 in the private dining room. The room was intimate with a great ambiance. The food was EXCELLENT, the portions were big for a reasonable price and service was impeccable. Min went above and beyond to make this a truly memorable night for both families.
Thank you Min for everything!!! You are truly a great host and we highly recommend Bumpkin's. Hope to see you again!

My fiancee, Katrina and I had our intimate Engagement dinner here in the small private room with Min as our host.
Service, food and hospitality was above and beyond. A great night, highly recommend Bumpkins to anyone!

First time here for dinner. The place carries a heavy sense of nostalgia. Big bright space with huge paintings.
Firstly the staff are super friendly and professional with fantastic service. The location felt a bit empty.
We started with some cocktails. Their cocktails are very decent and the wine menu is priced well. We had appetizers and mains.
Their cocktails baked rolls were hot and fresh and went well with our snails. For mains we had Canard a l'orange and Lamb.
Sadly our mains were a little disappointing. For the price I was expecting a better quality of main, tough meat that was lacking flavour.
I’m a sting believer in supporting local business and would definitely want to see this place do well.

First time I went to this restaurant was while I was waiting for a lung transplant. Ming and Angelo were so kind to accommodate me and my family, knowing that I was encumbered a bit with my oxygen tanks and hoses. That first dining experience was just great. After my transplant, I went back just the other night with my sister, we had another excellent experience. Ming and Angelo remembered me, were thrilled that I had done so well with my lung transplant and took great care of us for the entire meal experience. This is my favourite place to dine inToronto both for the food, Atmosphere, and for great attention to detail that Ming and Angelo always cater to. I’ll be going back soon just to be around my two new friends and enjoying an another great meal.
Thanks Ming and Angelo….see you soon

My dinner reservation at Bumpkin's was wonderful, fantastic food, impeccable service, cosy ambience and a lovely atmosphere.
Headed to the restaurant for an early dinner reservation as I had a broadway show after, with my expected 2 hours dining time...I was able to sit, relax and enjoy my dinner without feeling rushed in a cosy fireplace burning dining room with lovely decor.
My 3 course meal was well paced as I went for the prix fixe menu option....my hot cream of broccoli soup was delicious with warm bread, so was my lamb dish with roasted potatoes and veggies cooked to perfection and finish off with my favorite dessert tiramisu...wine was good and nicely chilled.
The service from my server was very professional and pleasant, everything well timed...as I do enjoy fine dining...this was one of the best...I'll definitely return to this restaurant in the future as it was everything I've hoped for...Highly recommend!

Pizza Nova offers a solid pizza experience at a reasonable price. I recently visited and tried their combo deal, which included two pizzas of my choice for around $20. Given the price, I wasn’t expecting anything extraordinary, but I was pleasantly surprised. The pizzas were fresh, well-made, and had a good balance of toppings and cheese. The crust was just the right mix of crispy and soft, making for an enjoyable bite.
The place itself was decent—nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable enough to sit and eat. It had a casual atmosphere, perfect for a quick meal. The staff were kind and welcoming, which added to the positive experience. They prepared my order quickly and made sure everything was to my liking.
Overall, Pizza Nova is a good option if you’re looking for an affordable and tasty meal. While it may not be the best pizza I’ve ever had, it definitely delivers in terms of value for money. If you’re in the mood for a quick, satisfying bite without spending too much, this is a great choice. I’d definitely consider coming back for another combo deal

MY GO-TO SPOT! 🍕✨
This location is absolutely the best! The pizza slices are always fresh, saucy, and so delicious. On top of that, the service here is always friendly and fast. This is hands down my favorite spot for a slice, I always leave happy. Dare I say this is the best pizza nova location in Toronto!

October 2023: Sunday dinner & craving pizza. Ordered delivery for 10 hot chicken wings, a Deluxe and the Napoletana (it has anchovies*.) * Hard to find these days.
Delivery was quick & polite, the pizzas were delicious & the wings were moist with just enough kick.
Nice of them to include a complimentary jar of their sauce in celebration of their 60th anniversary.
***
Previously: I weep for this generation as they will never have the pleasure of biting into a Pizza Nova veal sandwich of old. If it weren't for the bread, sauce and add ons of cheese, onions and mushrooms well, just see the pic. You get a thin piece of je ne sais quoi.
The Hawaiian slice was crisp and tasty, the Staff pleasant but seemed bored. To be expected working on a Holiday and with two customers in the whole place but you do have a paying job so be happy for that.
The restaurant is clean. The carpets need a good vacuum.
The wings, ordered hot were hot 🔥 and good enough to wake up the taste buds.
I just wouldn't go back for the veal.

My girlfriend wanted to try Ethiopian House, so we went. The place is small but cozy, and the interiors are really nice, warm and inviting.
We had a meat dish that was a bit dry, and the food was a little spicy, but not too much. The flavors were okay, but the portions felt small for the price, so it seemed a bit expensive.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, but I’m not sure I’d be in a hurry to go back. Still worth checking out if you want to try something different.

This was one of my most unique food experiences. Right after I ordered the power went out for the whole block. I waited a few minutes and the server brought my food out and mentioned that he wanted me to eat and he didn’t know if payment would work or not, but his genuine concern was with me enjoying their food! Sitting in the dark, I really enjoyed the food. I would definitely come back.

If you're looking for a warm, welcoming atmosphere with delicious traditional Ethiopian food, look no further than “Ethiopean House” Restaurant.
From the moment you step in, you'll be greeted by a friendly and informative owner who makes you feel right at home. The cozy, traditional setting adds to the charm, with its inviting décor that truly reflects the rich culture of Ethiopia.
The star of the meal for me was definitely the "Doro Wat"—their special chicken stew. It was incredibly flavorful, with the perfect balance of spices that made each bite a delightful experience. The tender chicken paired with the rich, spicy sauce was absolutely delicious.
Overall, Ethiopian House Restaurant offers more than just a meal—it provides a genuine cultural experience with fantastic food, great hospitality, and a cozy vibe that makes it a perfect spot for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Ethiopian cuisine. Highly recommend!

Beautifully renovated space, genuinely kind & friendly staff, and the owner seems very lovely and passionate. It's not easy to hold onto these queer spaces and keep them thriving! I especially love the quiet little back patio, the staff will come take your order back there so you don't have to get up . The stairs back there are a little uneven so be careful (I would suggest they paint the tips of the stairs to make the edges more visible).

What! Boutique Bar is back! This bar has been around for over a decade. Best sangria in town and amazing cocktails! I love the vibe and the friendliness of the owners. They moved and are now located where Smith used to be. Highly recommended! The Hawaiian Gin is very delicious

It’s a drinks only place but am I really looking for anything else? The vibes of this place was exactly what I was looking for. Some good background music, friendly bar staff, and good drinks with a good price.
This is definitely my go to bar now if I’m in the Torotno Gay Village for a drink. From your average cocktail to their special house menu, this is where you order a drink. And if it’s the weekend and you’re looking to shake some, the upstairs dance floor is definitely a must do.

Great pizza and friendly service! They sell pizza by the slice which is super convenient when you are on the go. They also heat it up in their oven prior to serving so it always tastes fresh. The best part is a slice costs the same as a coffee… so skip your morning coffee and get yourself a nice slice instead (or get both haha). Will come back!

Kothur has been living to the standards consistently for so many years now.
We used to be regulars pre Covid and during Covid after we moved out and the food was amazing at the time.
When we visited last week it was the same. Amazing taste and reasonable prices. The restaurant is clean, the services are good and the ambience and choice of songs even better.
We had Kadhai Paneer, Jeera Aloo and Butter Tandoori Roti. All three tasted good, serving size was enough for two as well.

I absolutely loved our experience at Kothur Indian Cuisine! The food was more than worth the price — generous portions packed with authentic flavours that truly hit the spot. Every dish we ordered was delicious and satisfying.
Special shoutout to our server, Usha, who was an absolute star! Despite handling almost all the tables on her own, she was incredibly attentive, efficient, and kind. Her service alone made the evening even more enjoyable.
The ambience of the place added to the whole experience — cozy, clean, and perfect for a relaxed dining outing.

Delicious food and extremely well priced. We got so many things I don’t think I could list them all!
Would highly recommend the sizzlers, we got the tandoori chicken and paneer tikka sizzler and both were absolutely amazing.
All the meat dishes were perfectly cooked and extremely tender and juicy. I was a big fan of their Rogan Josh. And the palak paneer was creamy and delicious!!
Perfect spot for an affordable and filling Indian bite. Extremely quick service and the staff was very accommodating considering we were a group of 8.

Atmosphere: Warning to diners, as with most Indian restaurants, do not wear clothing you plan to wear the next day. Also Christmas decor was still up, a bit strange as we are more than halfway through January.
Food: everything was very tasty, fresh, and hot, however you can easily give the chicken pakoras a miss.
Service: i felt quite bad for the 1 waitress who was managing all the customers on the floor, plus takeaway, plus the phone. She seemed quite overwhelmed and would disappear for quite some time (possibly to support the back staff), thus service was extremely slow. It took nearly 20 mins to place our orders and majority of other customers seemed irritated by the slowness.

Been coming here for years, always been a big fan since the NYC days. It’s always great. But came in tonight (May 3) and ordered just before 10:30pm and was served by this young brown guy with glasses and he made me the most perfect combo platter I have ever seen, and tasted. All I said was ‘more rice than salad’ and he just got it. 👌 I was very impressed — enough to write a review after all these years!

Food is meh. Meat is dry. Hummus, white sauce were good. Doesn’t really compare to Adel’s NYC.

I recently visited The Halal Guys in downtown Toronto and was thoroughly impressed. The portions are generous, and the flavors are bold and satisfying. I tried the gyro and chicken platters—both were perfectly seasoned, tender, and served with fresh sides like lettuce and pita. The white and hot sauces added a delicious kick, making each bite exciting. The service was quick, and the food was served hot and fresh. If you're looking for a hearty, flavorful meal, The Halal Guys is a must-visit!

I came to The Halal Guys for a quick lunch and ended up staying longer than expected because of how welcoming the experience was. The chicken platter was flavorful, perfectly spiced, and generously portioned. But what really stood out was the customer service—Jagjeet greeted us with a big smile, took the time to explain the menu, and even offered recommendations based on our spice preferences. She checked in with us during the meal, and her attention to detail made the visit feel more like fine dining than fast casual. Big shoutout to the customer service which made our meal even more enjoyable!

Best place for poke bowls! I got introduced to this place by a colleague and at first, I was sceptical because I normally don’t like eating vegetables, but this bowl ended up being the best thing I’ve ever tasted. To the point that I made a dedicated post about it online since I ate EVERYTHING. I always think about this bowl. I find myself always ordering this Kauai bowl specifically whenever I get the chance. Really recommend it if you like raw salmon and tuna. Order it with avocado! You won’t regret it.

I'd tried a bunch of poke bowl places downtown Toronto, but a few friends and I found ourselves in the area, and after a quick google search and some decent reviews we figured we'd give Hoki Poke a try.
Overall great food. We all had different bowls and the salmon and tuna were very fresh. The cucumber, edamame, seaweed salad, corn leafy greens were also very fresh. We were also fortunate enough to try their takoyaki and dumplings, which is the only reason this is 4/5. The poke bowls were top notch, but unfortunately the takoyaki was a little dry, despite having sauce drizzled on it. Still though, great taste and flavor, and amazing service by the staff.

Came on a really hot day, was a bit disappointed that the interior wasn't air conditioned, but the decor in the restaurant is really nice and unique in my opinion.
Unfortunately I thought the food was only okay. The food presentation is pretty lazy. The flavours were okay, but the portion sizes were a little light considering the price. I don't eat Thai food too often because it's usually too heavy for me, but I somehow left feeling pretty hungry after eating a $20+ pad thai.
The menu has a lot of disclaimers...so at least they're stated there. But call me old fashioned but it's usually not a good sign when a restaurant needs disclaimers like "images are for illustrative purposes only" or "prices are subject to change without prior notice"

This is my go-to restaurant in the area. The green curry is spicy and you can taste the flavors. The clams are cooked perfectly and have a wok flavor. Both are noted as spicy, however it is more for taste rather than to burn your eating experience. I would say don’t be afraid to try spicy if you usually don’t!
The interior is nice and relaxed. They just need to fix the door as sometimes it can make a loud bang when opening and closing.

The food quality and taste aren’t quite what they used to be, which was a bit disappointing. The som tum with peanuts was overly salty for my liking. That said, the server was wonderfully attentive and kind—she even offered for some adjustments, though I politely declined due to my personal preference. On a brighter note, the mango sticky rice was delicious. Mango is perfect!

Pretty good Thai spot! We ordered the Crispy Pork with rice, Beef Pad See Ew, and the Labb Chicken Wing Zapp.
The real stars? 100% the chicken wings and the crispy pork. Both were packed with flavour and absolutely delicious. I’ve never had wings like that at any other Thai spot, definitely a must!
The Pad See Ew was just okay. It filled the craving but lacked a bit of flavour. I’ve had better.
Overall, solid spot with some standout dishes worth coming back for.
