This is my first time here and the customer service I got was absolutely awesome plus the food was absolutely out of this world. I ordered nachos and was better than I expected. Will be back plus I'll recommend this restaurant to eat at.

We went there for a birthday party on December 7th, a Saturday night. It was our first visit. We didn't have a reservation but there were no problem to find a table that fitted everyone. We had beer and apps until the other guests arrived. During this time our birthday friend went to washroom and the server prompt used the opportunity to offer a free desert to her. By the time the rest of the guests arrived the server brought the dessert and we celebrated all together. It was a such good night. No rush to leave the table, which seems usual in Toronto. Fast service when requested. The server was really friendly and fun. The food was good. The beer was cold. The price was fair.
It is definitely a place to return again.

Omg! This unassuming sports bar has the best food!! I was shook! From the salads to the most amazing chicken wings, home-made suaces too!! Everyrhing tastes fresh and delish!!. I couldnt believe it!! Great price points too. Its a macedonian family run spot. One brother and father in the front, the other brother and (i believe the mom) in the back chefing up a delicious stor late into the night. Throughly impressed.
You can feel the care and love in the air. A Gem of a place and a must visit.

Didn't have food but the nachos were a very big portion! Rob the bartender was awesome and hosted the karaoke as well. Luckily, "Big Guy" Sean was assistant karaoke DJ to help things move along. Fun night, chill crowd, would definitely go again! Be warned: Cash only.

Cute spot. Friendly owner, excellent wings, and I went on a Thursday which comes with a side of some hit-or-miss live standup acts.
Also quite liked the wall of ‘GOATs’ with pictures of huge sporting moments & sportspeople. Nice touch

Flying star for creativity, friendliness service and delicious samosa. Love the jerk samosa and the butter chicken. A great spot for vegan friendly option. They also have a grab and go area stocked with soups, chutney, and home made lemonade.

Noticed this place for the first time today. Decided to try all the veggie/vegan and chicken options. Very creative take on samosas. Love the colours and options. Believe it or not the brussel sprout was my fave-Jamaican sweet potato also good. My family loved the jerk and tandoori flavours. $12/doz- bit pricey for tiny samosas but considering it a gourmet food…not bad. Service was good-fast, friendly. These samosas would make a good party finger food.

Sometimes I’ll leave a review as a reminder of a place I want to return to and this is one of those. These are the tastiest treats. I bought a 6 pack of assorted ones and they were all so different and delicious. Served warm from the counter too ! Jerk chicken was my favourite and I’m pretty picky about this flavour. I’ll be back for more !! Oh and visit the Handwork Department a few doors down for some great thrift shopping! Now I have a new routine when I stop there ! Lol
Judy Lynch - 9 months ago
Cute store front with a colorful assortment of samosas, empanadas and patties. I went for the Jamaican Beef Patty, Bean and Cheese Empanadas, and the Jerk Chicken Samosa.
They tasted great and were filling!
I got 7 for $7.50 and wish I had gotten a wider variety to try more.
If I lived near here, I'd be here everyday, so I highly recommend this spot.
Oh! And some items say they are spicy but they are nothing to be afraid of.

Randomly stopped by this Samosas spot Sunday. Got a few different flavours to try. The food was good and I liked it. I think I'd have to come back and try a few different flavours. Nothing jumped out at me as I have to eat this again.

Great jazz in a friendly small venue. Dinner delicious and quite affordable. Nice listening-room vibe with audience respectful of the band. Good TTC access. Cash preferred for band cover charge.

Went to hear the Dave Young Trio with Reg Schwagger on guitar. They were great. Limited menu, but food was delicious. Very reasonably priced: entrees $18 to $20. Service was excellent. Small informal venue so every seat is ideal to see and hear live jazz. Green P parking only minutes away for $3 after 7:00. Definitely will go back.

Great small venue with good acoustics. Everyone was having a great evening!
Fergus and Hermina were at their best as they give it all to their supporters. Fergus has been WOWING Toronto for over 40 years! Jason was super and Sly and Robbie did a great job keeping it all together😁😉

Tibebe is such a wonderful person. After living in the area for almost a decade, we discovered Hirut for the first time on a whim. It’s such an unassuming hidden gem. The live music here is an experience unto itself. It’s an up close and personal experience with some of Canada’s most talented and acclaimed musicians. I’m glad to be no longer missing out on one of the city’s best jazz lounges.

I didn't know pizza could be this disappointing. The pizza was soggy and when I picked up a piece, the toppings just fell off. No flavour.
The lady at the counter was very kind.
I won't be going back.
Brad S - 4 months ago
I had some pizza. The pizza is not tasty. Quite soggy.
The staff is excellent.
Update: my girlfriend eats Pizza Nova from this location, and the "white pizza." is her favourite. Gets it from here once a week. Today we ordered a large and it didn't have enough herb oil base, and the crust was not as requested. She was very disappointed. I offered to return it, but she was scared they would get mad. I'm im just leaving a review for her.
Update x2: they got the pizza right. But too many flies in the restaurant.
El Nasrani (Lawrence of Arabia) - 5 months ago
The taste is always great and the ingredients are fresh but they use toppings sparingly, especially meat toppings.
I always ask for double or triple meat toppings but it still feels like there's little difference.
Edit: After trying another pizza place, I realized how much better Pizza Nova is 😭🤣

Place was cozy but food was salty. We left 90% food, couldn’t finish. But I like the fried rice.

Surprisingly nice restaurant setup. The service was fast and their protein portion is respectful. Contrary to other Thai restaurants , they are generous in the portions.
I highly recommend it.
Their spring roll are great as well their special fried rice, comes with chicken and shrimp and a special spice That is delicious.
Same with their green curry which is smooth and tasty 😋.
Btw you need to try their spring rolls.

We’ve only ever ordered in, so I can’t speak for the atmosphere, but the food and service are excellent. They have their own (super friendly) delivery driver which is much preferred to delivery services in my opinion. This is my go-to for Thai food in the east end. Fresh and delicious!

Got take out from here! By far the best Thai Room location. Got vegan pad Thai and spring rolls and both were good portions. The other locations have quite a different method I guess because this one is the only good one lol.

General Tao Chicken - fried chicken, sweet, savory, hits the right dopamine spots and is quite comforting. Good with rice and portions are big!
Bredgy L. - a week ago
I used to work near the area and would be here once or twice a week. I think they just need an extra hand to maintain the cleanliness of the restaurant and help with answering phone calls/orders as it can get really busy during the weekends. I always see the lady running back and forth to take care of guests and to run the orders which I know is very tiring.
Otherwise, this restaurant offers cheap price with big portions and good food too! 👍🏼 I’ll be coming back soon! 😊

Great portions at great prices. Really good fried chicken wings that came with the take out order after hitting the minimum. Everything was very tasty except the sweet and sour pork. It's my favorite dish, but it was very disappointing. Tasted like orange chicken which was weird, would not recommend this dish.
Would recommend and come back to try other dishes.

Wanted to taste some yummy Chinese food from one of the local businesses and Google recommended them. Seeing 4.3 avg. rating encouraged us to try it out. No complaints about service, it was warm and friendly. However, the food was not. It's true that they give you a huge amount to fill your belly but if your tongue couldn't taste anything, what's the point of filling your belly?
Mongolian Chicken with steamed rice had more cabbage to cover the whole thing (see picture). Even if that was tasty, I wouldn't complain. It was dripping with sauce and no taste.
Sweet and Sour Pork usually is a safe bet, with chicken fried rice, it looked good but tasted nothing. The pork was full with sauce, and fried rice was hard as hell.
Overall, not a good experience. Having less faith in these Google ratings lately. I guess most 5-star people went there to fill their belly with cheap offers rather than taste something good at a reasonable price.
No hard feelings to the owners, they were good, just not the food we paid for.

Lived in this area for 10 years, which is also how long I’ve been going to Sandy’s. Jimmy (the main owner) was amazing.. The food was always amazing!!
I’ve realized that they have new owners now and I’m not exactly sure what happened to Jimmy?
Ive also realized that since the new owners have been there, the quality of the food and taste has changed tremendously.
Don’t get me wrong I have nothing against these new owners, they are very nice people, but I just wish they had left the food, the recipes and the taste of everything as it was…

We had the Vegetarian breakfast with spinach and the Pancake and eggs breakfast. Both were perfect. The spinach was cooked with extra special care. Deliciously sauteed with just a touch of onions and peppers. And probably the best home fries and pancakes we've had anywhere. Great selection of toast too. Lovely bread.

Conveniently located at the corner of Woodbine and Danforth. There is plenty of on street parking out front and a large Green P just behind.
Was warmly greeted by Christopher and was told to sit anywhere I desired. Was provided menu’s and took our beverage order.
The menu is quite the spread and reasonably priced!
Settled on the Farmers (2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 proteins, home fries and tomato or fruit salad)
When I was presented the food, the smell was amazing!
The food was prepared to perfection and the pancakes… OMG… they were light, fluffy and oh so yummy. If you are a fan of the proper home fries (read: NOT fried) - you will be in heaven!
The vibe here is amazing and wondering why I did not discover this gem earlier!
Come by, say hi to Christopher and crew and enjoy a wonderfully crafted meal.

This is. Without a doubt. Some of the best wings I've ever had. The wing flavors were all so delicious and actually spicy!!! And they have plenty to choose from. The fry flavors are all absolutely delicious and everything was reasonably priced. The owner was very friendly and super helpful and made this just an all around welcoming experience to Toronto! If you're in Toronto you MUST GO to this place! Thanks for making this a memorable trip and a memorable New Years Eve!

Very good wings ! Don't @me for this next statement, but gives Duff's a run for their money for a lot less cash !
Unbreaded wings are amazing, lemon pepper is on point ! Ordered multiple times and the portions are great and the folks that work their are super friendly!
If you have been disappointed by places that you order 1lbs of wings that are weirdly oversized and you only get 5 wings then make the switch to these guys. Wings that are normal sized, delicious, well cooked and aren't greasy (or taste like they were boiled and fast fried)
Great food, great job ! Try them out
Robert McLaughlin - a year ago
Ordered via their online portal, and when we went to pick it up the store wasn't even opened. Tired calling an no pick up. Just looked at my credit card bill now and they still charged my order. Disappointing, as I've had good wings here before.
Update: the new rating is based on how helpful they have been in getting me my refund back. Also I know they do make good wings. My only feedback is they need to pay more attention to their online platform so this never happens again. Also to make it clear that if something doesn't go right for their online ordering they should out reach to Doordash. It's no very clear right now and the number they have posted on their site and confirmation email doesn't really go anywhere.
Carina Fung - 11 months ago
I have to say I really like the wings. They are fresh and always taste good. I've eaten here a handful of times in the last 6 months. My reason for the lower rating is they are always, without fail, late. Each time I order online I set a time for pick up, and it has never been within 20 minutes of that time frame. I wait for my order in store and I can see it's not busy, there aren't people coming in and out. So it's not for the fact that they are over capacity. Sometimes they say they "didn't get my order until recently" but I get order confirmation right after I pay online so I find that hard to believe too.
Again I really like their food, but each time I remember why I don't order here as often. I will gladly change my rating if I start experiencing better service.

Great hookah (apple and mint is awesome), food and Moroccan coffee (personal favorite)!!! Service is great too, friendly people.
A piece of advice: go with open mind! The place is not really beautiful and the ambience is full of smoke (obviously) but is just a matter of time and getting used to it. The best tables (first floor) have TVs and good music.
I would give it a 5 stars if the place was better maintained (you can see odd cables hanging, sealing and walls need new painting, etc.).

Laid back mature crowd vibe, low key spot and very grungy but chill. Good customer service, greasy spoon diner type food. Cost of Shisha went up to $15 though. Decent coverage of sporting events and lots of room on two floors of space
