5 Star Rating I really enjoyed my time at Firkin on Danforth! It was incredibly close to Woodbine Station, which was our group's meeting point, so it was just a quick 2-minute walk to the pub. I was here with a group of friends for dinner and we had the best time interacting with the staff, who were friendly and attentive. The food was great—I had their new Butter Chicken Flatbread and it was tasty and a fun twist on the standard options. I was also really impressed by the pricing; the portions were generous, and it felt much more affordable than many other spots in the East End. For cocktails, I really enjoyed the Superbuenos and my friends loved The Hurricane. There was plenty of variety on the menu to choose from. The evening crowd seemed lively and the music was a fun mix of genres with plenty of Millennial faves. We will definitely return for dinner or try their brunch soon. 5/5!

5 Star Rating I absolutely loved my experience here from start to finish. The food was beyond amazing—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Every dish tasted like it was made with real care and passion. The service truly stood out as well; the staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming, making us feel comfortable and appreciated the entire time. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, which made the experience even more enjoyable. It’s one of those places where you can tell they genuinely care about both their food and their customers. I left feeling so happy and satisfied and already can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great food, great service, and an overall amazing experience.

5 Star Rating Second visit was fantastic (July 23, 2025): had the hot and the gar par and it was an excellent combination. The wings are sauced and cooked perfectly. Once again Roberto is just the friendliest! My favourite wing spot in the city. Possibly the best wing sauces in the city. If you like hot and flavourful, this is the spot. They’ve got several options of hot (which are legitimately hot) and many other flavours. The prices are very reasonable and there’s a nice selection of drinks. Roberto, I believe was the bar man’s name, was extremely friendly and very nice explaining all the sauces and just chatting with us. Thursday night is open comic night so just keep that in mind if you go on a Thursday! The price total was high because we had 3 pints each, 2 lbs each, and split a large fries.

4 Star Rating Cute bar and the bartender was running the bar and our server. Service seemed to be a bit slow but it wasn’t overly busy so I can see why they probably only had 1 cook and 1 person running customer service. Regardless the bartender was nice and friendly. They had interesting flavours for wings but I found it wasn’t as amazing as I had expected. The large nachos were good and the jalapeños were fresh. The only thing is I felt it could’ve used a bit more lettuce but there was more than enough beef.

5 Star Rating What a fun place! So many different flavors to choose from and they were all really tasty, hard to pick a favorite as I enjoyed them all. And for someone who can't handle spicy food, I really appreciate that most of the flavors were non-spicy. These are a great size for snacking and would be great to bring to a potluck or picnic. I'll definitely be back and am looking forward to trying their chutney!

2 Star Rating I ordered about 200 samosas as a treat for my staff, but unfortunately, most ended up in the garbage. The concept is great and the theme is cute, but the execution fell short. I don’t enjoy leaving negative feedback, but when 30 people share the same experience, it’s clear there’s room for improvement. 😒

3 Star Rating Disappointed based on past experiences. We ordered the combo for 2 but the quantity of food made me think he brought us for 1. Only 4 pieces of injera for us and I had to go up but was only given 2 more. Worst of all, our meal was on a plate, not injera. We were never checked on so never asked if we wanted another drink. On Friday nights, when there is a performance, one more person taking care of us would have made all the difference. I'd suggest, if going to eat before the show, get there well before. I guess once the show starts the service ends. Totally appreciate this but wish I knew. Jazz group was amazing!

I recently went to hear the fabulous Vancouver Trio, with Amanda Tossoff, piano; Morgan Childs, drums; and the ever steady, ever ready, ever adventurous bassist, Brendan Davis. I cannot wait to return for dinner, and more live jazz. Just steps from the subway station, it’s easy to get to via TTC, there’s street parking for drivers, and the many shops along east Danforth are very interesting. 5 Star Rating Tonight I placed a delivery order. I ordered the Medium Special with 10 wings. OMG, the hot honey garlic wings were AMAZING! I think they were the best wings I’ve had in years. They obviously take pride in delivering hot delicious food. The delivery person was friendly and the food was hot.

3 Star Rating I had some pizza. The pizza is not tasty. Quite soggy. The staff is excellent. Update: my girlfriend eats Pizza Nova from this location, and the "white pizza." is her favourite. Gets it from here once a week. Today we ordered a large and it didn't have enough herb oil base, and the crust was not as requested. She was very disappointed. I offered to return it, but she was scared they would get mad. I'm im just leaving a review for her. Update x2: they got the pizza right. But too many flies in the restaurant.

5 Star Rating Haven't had services like this in fast food chains for decades, your employee cooks and serves with bright energy and passion! Best experience visiting pizza restaurants hands down. I would love to hire the employee myself. I visited on the 20th of Aug 2025 at around 11pm. Some mentions soggy pizza but that's because you ordered the thin crust! I was so satisfied with the soggy thin crust which made the texture almost like biting on a Lasagna. Or maybe the happiness the guy Brough upon me completed my satisfaction!! I strongly recommend the management to give him a raise or a manager position!!

3 Star Rating I ordered the chicken pad thai and spring rolls. The spring rolls were ok. They had a good crunch and a nice sour note, but left an odd aftertaste. Overall, the chicken pad thai was not good. It had some good pieces of chicken, but the flavouring was not good and the dish was a bit soupy. I asked for hot spice and it almost had a hot buffalo sauce taste to it, so it had me wondering if that's how they added the heat, but I'm not sure. Honestly, I'd rather pay the extra few bucks and get better Thai food elsewhere. The food here left me full, but unsatisfied. Disappointing. The service was very quick and the woman who took my order was kind. I think I only waited 8 minutes to get my food, so they were quick.

2 Star Rating Wanted to taste some yummy Chinese food from one of the local businesses and Google recommended them. Seeing 4.3 avg. rating encouraged us to try it out. No complaints about service, it was warm and friendly. However, the food was not. It's true that they give you a huge amount to fill your belly but if your tongue couldn't taste anything, what's the point of filling your belly? Mongolian Chicken with steamed rice had more cabbage to cover the whole thing (see picture). Even if that was tasty, I wouldn't complain. It was dripping with sauce and no taste. Sweet and Sour Pork usually is a safe bet, with chicken fried rice, it looked good but tasted nothing. The pork was full with sauce, and fried rice was hard as hell. Overall, not a good experience. Having less faith in these Google ratings lately. I guess most 5-star people went there to fill their belly with cheap offers rather than taste something good at a reasonable price. No hard feelings to the owners, they were good, just not the food we paid for.

3 Star Rating Food has gone downhill- new owners perhaps? But my biggest issue is that the online menu prices don’t match their current in restaurant prices - so our take out order ended up costing $8+ more than we expected. Some dishes have jumped by $3. I get that prices change, but your website should reflect current pricing. I have raised this issue to the front of house staff and basically just got a “yes - those prices are wrong” response.

5 Star Rating Solid take on Detroit style. Crispy crust and dough wasn’t overly dense. Loaded with cheese and toppings. Enjoyed the mushroom pizza the most. Had the mc boy too, but thought it could’ve been better without bell peppers and subbed hot peppers or jalapeños instead. They also have bogo wings on Monday and Tuesdays for $15 which is a solid deal. The wings were a decent size, crispy and seasoned well.

5 Star Rating People will naturally want to compare McMan Pizza to Descendents and given they both produce the same product a straight up comparison is perfectly valid. So how does it compare? IMHO it doesn't surpass Descendants. Does it equal Descendants, probably not. Having said that, a McMan Pizza is approximately $6 less expensive then Descendants; I definitely enjoyed the pizza and would order from here again. However, there where two principal concerns a) it appears the mushrooms on the McBoy pizza are canned and b) the pizza could have stayed in the oven for a few minutes more as there was a subtle hint of under cookness with the dough. Overall I suggest it's a good product and I suspect it going to be even better tomorrow when I heat it up on the BBQ. Moreover, staff are very pleasant.

If you have been disappointed by places that you order 1lbs of wings that are weirdly oversized and you only get 5 wings then make the switch to these guys. 2 Star Rating I have to say I really like the wings. They are fresh and always taste good. I've eaten here a handful of times in the last 6 months. My reason for the lower rating is they are always, without fail, late. Each time I order online I set a time for pick up, and it has never been within 20 minutes of that time frame. I wait for my order in store and I can see it's not busy, there aren't people coming in and out. So it's not for the fact that they are over capacity. Sometimes they say they "didn't get my order until recently" but I get order confirmation right after I pay online so I find that hard to believe too. Again I really like their food, but each time I remember why I don't order here as often. I will gladly change my rating if I start experiencing better service.

4 Star Rating Ordered via their online portal, and when we went to pick it up the store wasn't even opened. Tired calling an no pick up. Just looked at my credit card bill now and they still charged my order. Disappointing, as I've had good wings here before. Update: the new rating is based on how helpful they have been in getting me my refund back. Also I know they do make good wings. My only feedback is they need to pay more attention to their online platform so this never happens again. Also to make it clear that if something doesn't go right for their online ordering they should out reach to Doordash. It's no very clear right now and the number they have posted on their site and confirmation email doesn't really go anywhere.

5 Star Rating I went to this restaurant on Tuesday evening. It wasn’t too busy, so I got a table right away without having to wait. The place looked nice and clean, with a cozy Japanese-style vibe. The staff were friendly and gave good service. For the appetizer, I ordered the gyoza. The flavor was good and served as a decent start to the meal. My main course was the chicken teriyaki bento, which was flavorful and well-prepared. The portion size was generous suitable for sharing between two people, assuming neither has a particularly large appetite. For my beverage, I selected what I believe to be the house blend of green tea, though I am unsure of the exact menu name. I thoroughly enjoyed the drink and found it refreshing. However, I would recommend that the restaurant consider offering a hot version as well, as I personally prefer hot green tea.

5 Star Rating Gyoko Sushi is a small, cozy place that we absolutely love for its proximity and fantastic service. Recently, we made a reservation for 10 people to celebrate my LA cousin's last day in town, and it did not disappoint. The service was excellent, as always. The staff was attentive and ensured our large group was well taken care of. The food was spot on, just like every other time we've visited. The sushi was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Gyoko Sushi continues to be a favorite for us, and this visit reinforced why we keep coming back. If you’re looking for great sushi with excellent service in a cozy setting, I highly recommend Gyoko Sushi. ‐------------------- I had an amazing experience at Gyoko Sushi. The food was truly outstanding and the service was friendly and attentive. The drinks were well-prepared and the atmosphere was pleasant. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great sushi experience.
