Great dining experience in Montreal! Excellent excellent service from Pascale! She suggested great food & drinks which were all superb 👍 She also came back multiple times to ensure that we are served well. The Dessert Rose Sangria was to die for… we had 3!!! Prices were very reasonable. The burger was tasty & the poutine was also yummy. We dunked our chicken wings in the gravy 😆 Over-all, we ended our Montreal stay with smiles in our faces & tummies ☺️

Jesse was our server and he was absolutely fabulous. Great casual atmosphere. There is the option of outdoor seating, we sat inside. Standard menu items - typical burgers, sandwiches, a few salads, poutine - the beer was great.

The service was a little slow, but the food was delicious and the portions were very generous. While you wait, they serve complimentary chips (nachos) with salsa, which was a nice touch. Overall, we had a great experience. They also have plenty of vegetarian options available, making it a great choice for vegetarians.

Waiter extremely rude, made us wait 30 times before to take our orders, and was extremely grumpy. Upon us asking other Tacos, he rudely asked if we had enough money to pay for it. Drinks were good. Clearly they need to train their employees as that behavior will only push clients far. Don't go. Many other options with more cordial staff around.

We had an amazing experience at 3 Amigos! The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and the service was outstanding — the staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Every dish we tried was delicious and packed with flavor. We truly enjoyed everything and will definitely be coming back again!

Ok so I’m a bit disappointed in the service I received. I asked if there’s any dairy products in the piña colada. Our waitress answered « yes of course! » and I said oh that’s weird they are usually vegan. And she said that it is not vegan cause there’s coconut milk…. I then asked her if she could make sure there’s no cow product. She came back and said they cannot know because they make the mix at the Sainte-Catherine location. I ended up calling myself, and they confirmed me that there is not animal or dairy products in it as long as I ask without whipped cream. I had ordered another drink in the meantime but when she came back with it, I mentioned that I called, that it is vegan and so I would prefer my first choice, a piña colada ! She then took the mojito she brought instead of giving it to me for free (they probably threw it out), and I ended up having my piña. There was then a mistake on the bill and I was charged with the first more expensive drink. That was it, I asked to see the manager, told him everything and they only offered a dessert, but we just wanted to leave. So they didn’t do anything nice to compensate us. Very disappointing. Staff should be trained better than that and have access to a list of ingredients for everything at all times.

This is the best meal I’ve eaten in 2026. Each dish was so unique, well balanced, and refreshing. We started with a sea urchin topped with a spinach foam that was both earthy and briny. The snow crab tart was delicious and the leeks are not to be missed. The smoked yogurt accompanying the sunchokes was incredibly memorable. And the Mai take mushrooms were the star of the meal full of so much flavor and umami, it was a perfect dish.

This was among the best of all the places we visited in montreal. The creativity of the food, the presentation, effort made to explain, and taste well exceeded my expectations. The bring your own wine policy allows you to have a much nicer bottle of wine with your meal for the same price as a typical restaurant of this calibre. Well done!

We ordered the seared leeks, the roasted artichokes, the fingerling potatoes, the maïtake mushrooms and the lamburger steak. I wasn't crazy about the artichokes and the potatoes, but everything else was phenomenal. Very melt-in-your-mouth and buttery. The portions are a little small for the price. The atmosphere was great, very warm and welcoming. My only complaint is that I asked them in the reservation to bring a surprise dessert out for my boyfriend's birthday, and it didn't happen.

Loved everything we ordered. If it was socially acceptable to lick the dish, I would have done so. Would for sure recommend for a special occasion cause it definitely hits the mark. Service was super good and they even asked us in the beginning after taking our order if we had an event to attend to make sure they bring everything out in time for us to make it to our show.

Honestly one of the best hidden gems I have overlooked for a long time. Our waitress was excellent explaining options, fast delivery, and even helped with my french (a rare courtesy for a service worker anywhere in Montreal). Food was epically good. Seems all sauces, including their soya, are made in house. I've never had sauce like this - thick and rich, almost like a creamy oil consistency - not watery at all. The spring roll was one of the best I've ever had. The Pad Thai was equally to die for and the price was amazing. Chicken seasoned really well and fried perfectly. 10/10 and I will be back. I was shocked the place wasn't packed.

Very disappointing. Tao chicken and rice were not fresh at all, calamari was 90% breading with way too salty sauce. And pad Thai sauce was again super salty, basically noodles with orange salt sauce. No fragrance or layering of flavors you can usually expect from pad Thai.

Looking for good Italian near our hotel and this one got good reviews. We got there about 6 and got a table for 2 right away. I had the snails as an appetizer and we shared a pizza. Both were very good and came out fast. We both left full. It was very reasonably priced with bill coming to under $45 with tip.

My wife and I was staying at the Manoir Sherbrooke hotel and as we were checking in asked about food in the vicinity. And the front desk recommended pizzeria dei compari. Coming from Brooklyn it was cold in NY when we left but a little colder here in Montreal. About a 10 to 15min walk we entered and immediately was greeted and enjoyed great customer service. My wife enjoyed the snail pizza escargot and I had the spaghetti and meat sauce tasty! And house wine red great tasting. Highly recommended when in Montreal.

Best pizza in town, no joke. They make it in a big fire oven right next to you. You can smell the delicious scent of fresh pizza all through the store. Let me tell you. I’m Italian and I’ve been to Italy so I know what I’m talking about. This pizza is out of this world. The edges are crisp but tender on the inside with a flavourful dough taste. The toppings are a delectable tornado of flavours no matter the one you pick. The only thing about this restaurant is because of the way it’s built the sound reverberates and can become pretty loud if you’re sensitive to that like me. But it’s worth it for that taste of Italy.

Great banana bread TERRIBLE coffee. I work at UQAM and sometimes come here if I don’t have time to walk over to Cafe Leo. It’s a cute place with lots of tables. Service is always very friendly. The banana bread is fantastic and moist! But then coffeee is dreadful. If you’re next to a Van Houtte you need to be at least at a bare minimum better than that. I ordered a Cortado today. I have no idea how the espresso was made but it was very bitter. For some reason the barista steamed 300ml of milk to make one Cortado which is odd and poured the milk from the side of the pitcher so it was just foam. Very unusual for a Cortado. Anyway it’s a very cute place but need to upgrade their coffee set up and barista training to make sure it makes sense to go there!

Immediately a space that feels like a home. A celebration space for both English and French performances, really TSC has it all. PS their improv workshops (Sunday in English and Monday in French) are free!!!! IN THIS ECONOMY! So much love for this place and the team.

I was actually going for dinner and passing my this place and found this vibrant place! I stopped by as was curious to find out about this place and understood that there’s a improv play in the next 10 mins. I seemed interesting and decided to stay back( cancelled dinner plans) and must say it was fun experience! The improv artists were amazing with great acting( improv) ..I got to meet some artists( who do this part time/ hobby) and very humble and talented bunch of people.. Cafe was nice too with good options and some great cocktails too.. Highly recommended to visit for the overall package - plays/ performances/people and cafe.. excellent vibes ..

Don't be fooled by the name "theatre", it's mainly a cafe during the day and is an excellent place to laptop. If you're roaming in this part of town, this is the best cafe you will find. If you compare it with other cafes across Montreal, it is unique in its association with theatre, mainly improv, which keeps the good vibes flowing. Friendly staff, good lunch food options and coffee.

Shared the Vegetarian DeLuxe pizza($22) and the Mushroom and Black Garlic Cream pasta ($33) between 2 people. The dishes were just OK, and with a moderate size. The bread on the size wasn't something which we felt like worth eating. The online menu is pretty accurate, and the prices are on the mid-high range. The service was pretty good, as was the waiting time. Apparently, the owner seems to read and respond to the reviews here, which is great.

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. Despite being in a location that isn’t the most appealing at first glance, it truly feels like a hidden gem once you step inside. The food was very good—flavorful, well prepared, and clearly made with care. The ambiance was also lovely, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that made the experience even more enjoyable to me and my family! What really stood out was the service. It was attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming, which made a big difference overall. A great find, and definitely a place I would recommend!

My bill for lunch Aug 20 with tip was $44! I had a soup, a one-person pizza and a coffee. No beer, no dessert. Definitely over-priced for a very ordinary lunch. I will not be returning.

Food is ok here, huge portion, but kinda bland and cold, especially the potatoes and bread, it was stale . The drink was ok to me, a bit pricey for the price. Nice place to hang out with friends and families for breakfast and lunch. Kind of understaffed since it took me 30 minutes to get my order. Young staff is bilingual, but the old Asian lady isn’t. She was unfriendly and unprofessional, kept yelling at our face for not speaking French. Anyway I would not recommend this place, unless you want to try something new in this city.

Overall Impression: A rare example of a franchise that still feels like a neighbourhood staple…consistent, welcoming, and rooted in community. What I liked: I’ll start by saying this, I’m a bit of a breakfast connoisseur. I’ve been at this for decades. My wife and I first discovered L’Œufrier about five years ago when we moved to Montreal, at their Plateau Mont-Royal location. It was one of the first Quebec-based franchises I really got to know (St-Hubert being the obvious first introduction for most of us). I’ll be honest… the loud, colourful, family-style vibe isn’t typically my thing. But there was something different here. Yes, the food and coffee were consistently good, with generous portions and a menu that doesn’t hold back. But what stood out more was something you don’t often find in franchised restaurants, a genuine sense of community. Staff were friendly, engaged, and clearly knew their regulars. Before long, they knew us too. Being new to the city at the time, that mattered. It made a difference. Despite being predominantly francophone, I’ve always felt welcomed. They’ve met me where I’m at with my (very much still improving) French, though I’ll say, I’ve mastered ordering my usual. Slowly but surely. The Village location: After moving from the Plateau to the Village, we naturally found our way to this location. It’s smaller, a bit tighter, but somehow even more connected. Being in the heart of the Village, there’s an added layer of inclusivity and openness. That sense of community is amplified here. It’s not just staff, it’s the guests too. This morning, a table of guys started to chat with us, joking, laughing, completely natural. That’s not unusual here. It happens often. Atmosphere & vibe: Tables are close together, and during peak hours you might wait, but that proximity is part of what makes it work. If anything, spreading people out would take away from the experience. It’s lively, a bit chaotic at times, but in a way that feels human, not transactional. Food & menu: The menu is extensive, bordering on excessive, in a good way. Some of the breakfast poutines look like they could feed a small country. Milkshakes are everywhere. Mimosas kicking off people’s Sundays. . It’s indulgent without pretending to be anything else. My wife and I both had “Le Simplest”…. my go-to. I’m a simple guy :) And that’s part of the appeal, whether you want something over-the-top or just a solid, classic breakfast, it delivers consistently. Who this is good for: People looking for: • consistent, reliable meals • generous portions at fair prices • a place that feels lived-in and welcoming And maybe most importantly: • a sense of belonging, even if you’re new Closing: At the end of the day, L’Œufrier is a large Quebec chain, but it doesn’t feel like one. There’s something honest here. Something that feels distinctly Quebec, where a place can grow, expand, and still hold onto the community it was built on. That’s not easy to maintain. They’ve managed to do it.

The plate was full with plenty of options to choose from. Unfortunately, the food was a bit cold(especially fried potatoes), and the fruit looked like it had been cut days earlier and wasn’t very fresh. On the bright side, the atmosphere was pleasant and made for an enjoyable setting.

There aren’t a lot of places in Montreal that are consistently good yet this place never disappoints. 100 percent recommend checking out this spot at least once !

Very nice portions, none of that shrinkflation happening there by the looks of it. I rarely go out for breakfast because I always end up being hungry after but I wasn't after this visit. The staff was very nice. The place was also quite busy but very fast on the food. I am happy to find out there is now one close to where I will be living and very excited to go back.

Had a really great time here with my friends. I’ve only been here about three times but every time I come, it’s a great time. The beer is always cold. The glasses are always clean and the prices are always right. The music is also really good. I don’t know who plays the music, but it’s never a bad track listing or playlist. I really enjoy meeting friendly people here never a bad time. If I had any complaints to make, it would be that the cactus in the corner needs to be watered with actual water. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a plant going into alcohol withdrawal and shiver when given water before… There’s always a first for everything .. and your first time here will be a 10 out of 10 adventure great time good vibes.

Evelyn, She is THE BEST! very friendly, and gave us very good service. she has a lot of knowledge about what is the pubs menu and alcohols, she keeps track of who might need an other drink, which is quite rare nowadays. she takes time to talk to her costumers (even if the pub is quite busy)

I often bike past this bar but I've never tried it until last night. It's cozy and low lit however however I wasn't happy about the fact they only take cash. Thankfully, the person I was with had cash on him. There's an ATM however you'd probably have to pay a fee. The drinks are pretty cheap so that's a plus.

Unique, quirky, friendly, lively little basement bar that I will definitely visit again. Jade made us feel very welcome, almost like old friends. Along with all the other staff who were more like a group of good friends than just coworkers. We received excellent service and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Be aware, it is a cash only bar. They do have an ATM on site, but to avoid the service charge, bring yer money.

I loved my experience at Resto Végo! I was a big fan of Commensal, as I went there often as a kid, and was looking forward to reliving that same experience. It was even better than I expected, the location and the freedom to choose between their 2 floors makes you feel at home. The food at the buffet was amazing, everything was well cooked, seasoned and seemed fresh. I also really appreciated the option to open a table and being able to go back and forth at the buffet and only pay at the end. Its a perfect mix between a nice, cozy restaurant and the feeling of the freedom of choice. Greatly recommend!

This is my 2nd visit to Montréal and I revisited this resto situated in an interesting and bustling neighborhood. The resto is in buffet style with a good variety of different cuisines. It is NOT all-you-can-eat and the price is charged by weight. But you can try a little bit of everything! I particularly liked the artichoke salad and the marinated asparagus. If you don't want to pay extra for canned drinks, there are jugs of water which you can serve yourself.

An easy 5 stars. Massive choice of hot or cold food - see pics. Each dish described for contents in French & English. Big dessert bar as well. CAD35 per Kg (excluding plate.) 2 plates of hot food will cost about 42 dollars Inc taxes. I could eat there every day.

It's good, I've gone here since it was called commensal back in the day. I don't like how they have a tip option on the debit machine that you have to go out of your way to say no to, while the cashier watches you. Pay your staff better instead of embarrassing poor customers.

We didn’t try the buffet, only the little cafe and sandwich counter. The chai latte was really good !! We tried the tandoori and the bbq sandwich as well, they were made of marinated tofu. It was quick and very decent, bread was fresh. My only complaint would be that they aren’t entirely vegan. Most options are, but they still serve some vegetarian dishes as well.
