5 Star Rating Jardin Nelson is one of Old Montréal’s true gems. An open garden courtyard-styled dining area full of plants, warm lighting, and live music creates a vibrant atmosphere. One’s excited while waiting in the queue (we made the mistake of dropping in without a reservation) about the food to be sampled. And the food, when it came, was absolutely delicious! Overall, Jardin Nelson is an ideal spot whether you’re visiting with friends, family, or looking for a romantic evening out. The menu offers a great variety of options, and everything we tried was fresh and flavorful. Their crêpes are especially delicious, and the cocktails pair perfectly with the lively yet laid-back vibe of the space. Service was quick despite how busy the restaurant was. Reservation is definitely recommended. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Montréal. Come for the food, stay for the atmosphere!

4 Star Rating The food and wine were great. If you go for lunch, it’s usually easy to find a table. They don’t take reservations, and there’s often a long line outside. The best time to come is around 5 p.m. ,before the evening rush. Every day after 6 p.m., there’s live jazz music, so the crowd starts to build up around that time. If you arrive around 5 p.m., you’ll have a better chance of getting a table and can enjoy a relaxed dining experience while waiting for the music to start. I found that Friday at 5 p.m. is the perfect time to visit. They also have lovely backyard tables surrounded by greenery and flowers. The only downside is the small flies that tend to hover around the tables, it can get quite irritating depending on the weather and season. We visited in October, and it was a bit bothersome then.

5 Star Rating We visited Jardin Nelson for my birthday as it had a lot of recommendations. I ordered the citrus shrimp to start and the whisky ribs for my main. Both were excellent. For dessert we chose the giant cookie and they put a sparkler in it for my birthday which was lovely! Service was good and we got to sit on the patio which was nice. The heaters kept us toasty so we didn’t feel the chill as the evening went on. I also enjoyed their drink menu - my favourite drink was the Hugo Spritz. They do not take reservations at this restaurant so you need to show up and ask for a table.

5 Star Rating Such a dreamy outdoor setting for lunch with friends in the old port. A courtyard with birds flying around and so many flowers, and not to forget live music (and some heaters!). This was October 18th just before the seasonal closure. Food was delicious. Till next year we shall meet again!

5 Star Rating My partner and I absolutely loved our visit! From start to finish, every dish blew us away. The oysters three-ways were fun and delicious, the scallops were perfectly cooked and the braised piglet risotto was just as impressive. The duck was a huge portion and also perfectly cooked. All the flavours were so well balanced and rich without being overwhelming. The hojicha dessert was one of the best desserts I’ve had in a long time. Service was excellent as well. Highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to come back!

5 Star Rating This is my favorite restaurant in Montreal for the food, the service and the host and the ambiance I have been coming to this restaurant for more than 10 years and the quality of the food and service is always at the highest level. Oysters are to die for. Please order the shaved ice/thyme and the baked one. Appetizer are all wonderful but piglet risotto and octopus are perfect. Halibut always great and beef is always cooked to perfection served with perfect vegetable combination. Let them help you with wine choices. The wine list is incredible and wine by the glass are superb. Please do not skip on dessert. They are the most sophisticated flavor with incredible presentation . Overall cuisine at the highest level. You will be so happy after you leave.

5 Star Rating Came here for our anniversary. The food, decor, and service were all excellent. The braised piglet risotto was absolutely delicious. I am willing to say it was the best risotto I ever had. The oysters prepared 3 different ways were interesting. If anything, it was the main course that was less impressive, but still good. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience and would recommend it.

We were immediately sat in a beautiful little table & treated to one if the best dinners of iur lives. The oysters were perfect and the oyster-sorbet was unexpected but surprisingly delicious. The poached fish was perfectly cooked, but the star of the show was the A5 waygu- so good! Don't forget to order dessert!!! 5/5

3 Star Rating The restaurant itself is nice. But surprisingly food and service were not that good considering the price. Entree salmon was surprisingly so fishy, I didn’t expect the unpleasant smell of dish in such a fancy restaurant. Furthermore, quantity was insanely small. And most of all, quality of service was not matched. Surprisingly the waiter was not trained well and I almost bumped more than 4times with waiters during the dinner. Even tho it was busy hour, It’s never happened before in other restaurants. Or if it happened usually they aware, but they didn’t seem even aware this. The space between tables was so narrow and waiter doesn’t seem care to bump customers’ chairs during serving. Serving speed was extremely slow. We were waiting almost 20mins between meals. I’d recommend go other restaurants with this price

5 Star Rating This restaurant holds such a special place in our hearts. It’s where we came to eat after my husband proposed to me, and ever since, it has become a tradition for us to come back every time we visit Montreal. The food is consistently incredible — full of flavor, beautifully prepared, and truly unforgettable. The open bar experience adds such a fun and welcoming touch, and the service is always attentive, warm, and professional. We’ve brought family and friends here over the years, and every single person has fallen in love with it just as much as we have. It’s one of those places that never disappoints. Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, and wonderful memories every single time. Highly recommend!

4 Star Rating Food is amazing to say the least. Atmosphere is wonderful, but I had to take off a star for the service. We sat for 20 minutes before even being greeted by a server at our table, and it took 30 minutes to get our drinks. Food came steadily after that but it was very difficult to get the attention of a server when we needed something. But honestly the food was wonderful.

3 Star Rating We were a group of friends who decided spontaneously to try out this place for dinner. The food was delicious. Unfortunately, the service was not at par. It was slow and often, we had to pass our requests to other staff members due to the long wait times and our waitress not having to visit our table regularly. At some point, the wait became frustrating. Lovely restaurant, but wish the service was better for the price paid.

5 Star Rating I came here specifically for the salt and pepper pork chops as I read so many reviews about how this place has the best salt and pepper pork chops in Montréal. So it was a must try for me. I live in Québec City and can't find any authentic made meals from different cultures. I ordered the lunch special of the pork chops and the pork chops did not disappoint, although I wish they were a little less breaded. The lunch special comes with a dumpling soup which was delicious. The broth was so good and the dumpling good too. Overall, delicious meal. I even asked for extra onions and peppers on the side and they gave me a small container of them to go with my meal. I love the small, quaint and home style feel of this restaurant in Chinatown. I shared a table with a lovely couple since I was one person. Love meeting new people. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Food comes quick, hardly any wait for anything. I will definitely return.

Would've given a 5 stars if they haven't intentionally put a tip on my friend's bill. Regardless, the staff were quite nice and explained to us how everything works. 5 Star Rating We had a great experience at this all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant in the heart of Chinatown. For about $100 for two adults and one child, the meal felt like very good value considering the variety and quality of food available. We tried several types of sushi, and everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The BBQ chicken was also a nice surprise—flavorful and a good option if you want something different between sushi dishes. The all-you-can-eat format makes the experience very satisfying because you can try many different items without worrying about ordering just one dish. Overall, it was a fun and filling dining experience in a lively Chinatown location, and it’s a great spot if you want plenty of variety and fresh sushi. 🍣🥢

4 Star Rating I used to come here often. In fact, Pho Bang New York (not in New York) was the one that first taught me to appreciate this Americanized northern Vietnam dish more than three decades ago even though there were many pho places in town. The first day when I revisited Montreal recently, I brought my grown daughter to Pho Bang New York. We returned to this place several times during our short stay. Their noodles are less bouncy than I prefer. But their meat cuts are superb, and their soup has a different emphasis from what I often get now. After all these years, they still keep their prices low, although they seem to have adjusted portions somewhat understandably due to inflation. Surprisingly, they now have a weekend special with ox tail soup. That soup has hot spices, and they offer a special hot sauce. You don't want to miss it if you visit on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday! I still remember the weekend evenings when diners quietly - nay, loudly wait to enter near the small doorway at the plain-looking storefront. Today, people do the same. Their interior used be plain, too. But now, they have quite a bit of decors that look loud but do not necessarily go together. General atmosphere here is cozy. Staff speak fluent French and English - many speak Vietnamese, too. Space is tight in this restaurant. So, expect some inconvenience if you visit during winter. (They now have a coat rack in the back although not many people notice that.) And prepare to pay cash. (How do you suppose they can keep price so low?)

This place is always busy — there’s usually a line-up, and that says it all! People keep coming back because of the amazing food, friendly service, and consistent quality 🌟 It’s truly the best Vietnamese restaurant in Montreal, and it absolutely deserves its top ratings ❤️

5 Star Rating Went here after a night out. Had to wait a little because it gets soo packed but the service was great and the food came on time. Would’ve liked the pho spicier as said in the menu but it was alright.

5 Star Rating Best pho in the city! Good and fast service. Servers are kind, quick, and helpful. Their pho with grilled chicken is too good. Chicken is grilled to perfect, so flavorful and soft. Veggie spring rolls are also really good. I loved their grilled beef and chicken with rice and salad. The quality is always the same and they never miss! Highly recommend if you’re looking best pho in the city.
