We were on the hop on hop off bus and had our tour guide Richard, recommend this restaurant. We took the opportunity after a lovely walk and it was mid afternoon. We were given the choice of inside or the patio and chose outside to people watch.
I had the beef tartare and a local beer and my wife had the tuna poke bowl. Both were amazing.
I’d love to go back and do the same or explore the menu.

Oh my gosh! What a treat to dine in the garden area of this beautiful restaurant! We shared the beet salad, hubby had avocado toast, and i enjoyed the vegetarian crepe. You can not forget to save room for pouding. The best in the area!

They had a separate GF menu. Server was knowledgeable, quick, funny and professional. Really nice atmosphere with the plants and the live music. I ordered the beet salad, ribs and fries all as appetizers. The beet salad was alright, ribs were absolutely delicious, fries were good. They have a separate air frier for those who are celiac like me.

Unexpected divine experience in the Old Port! From the lush jardin ambience, to live jazz musicians, to baked Brie with sun-dried tomatoes and fresh quinoa salad, and excellent service, Jardin Nelson is sure to amaze. Counting down the days to revisit.

Jardin Nelson offers an amazing atmosphere that’s hard to beat, especially with the live jazz music that sets a perfect tone for a relaxed evening. The inside terrace is a true gem, beautifully authentic and unique to this spot, making the ambiance feel special.
The food is good and tasty, living up to the expectations, though the service was a bit slower than usual during my visit. Despite this, the staff were attentive and friendly, which added to the overall positive experience.
Being in the heart of Old Montreal, the prices are on the higher end, but the quality of the experience justifies it. If you ever find yourself in Montreal, Jardin Nelson is definitely worth a visit.

I've dined here many times and will be back again - perfect for a family gathering (less than 8 people) or romantic date. The food is incredible, we had the duck and wagyu beef which were both perfection. The wines were stellar, perfectly matched with our food. The service is top, very on point but also personable which makes you feel comfortable and relaxed.

Absolutely loved it. Food and wine recommendations from our waiter were spot on. We were there on a relatively quiet Tuesday night but they still managed to make a nice atmosphere. Couldn’t recommend more highly. I wish I had asked for our waiter’s name too he really made the evening special

I had an excellent evening here at Le Club Chasse et Pêche! It was on a week night so not crowded at all which set the perfect mood for an intimate dinner. Our waiter was very helpful with suggesting a wine pairing and gave us attentive service throughout the whole meal. The risotto, duck and wagyu were all SO delicious! The pommes dauphines were literally perfect and I still think about them. This restaurant is a new favorite of mine!

Consistently our favorite restaurant in Montreal. Food is incredible, the menu is balanced and full of heavy hitters, the off menu items are always a treat. The wine is also always amazing and well priced. The service is were things get to the next level and where this restaurant soares above others. Can't wait to see you all again soon!

My favorite place in the Old Port! It's affordable and the food is just amazing. I love everything in their menu, they have a good variety of flavors for everyone. Pasta lovers, you will be served. However, you can to come either early or late, if not you will wait in line for a long time. It is worth it? I would say, definitely! They also have unlimited salad bar, which is amazing if you need your veggies doses haha! I totally recommend!

The food was good, and the portions were worth the price. I got the lobster pasta, and the quality was good. For dessert, I got pistachio cheesecake, not too sweet. The second plate was mcgill duck leg, and the meat was tender. The third plate was the menu of the day, a lasagna with double cheese and meat.

If you’re looking for a place with a nice atmosphere and decent Italian food, this spot at the old port is worth checking out. The vibe inside is great—warm and inviting. They have a small salad buffet included with the main meal, and they also offer bread and butter. A slight downside was the butter being too frozen, making it difficult to spread. We tried the dish number 18 and the number 12. Both were good—nothing that really blew us away, but still enjoyable. What really makes this place stand out is the location. It’s right in the heart of the Old Port, which is such a fun area to explore. I’d recommend wandering around the old streets, soaking in the scenery, and then stopping here for a meal. It’s more about the overall experience than just the food alone, and for that, I’d say it’s worth a visit.

As Italian I never believed I could enjoy pasta far away from my country…. There it is!
this place serves pasta properly cooked!
Quite some French influence (of course) but nevertheless I experienced some innovative approach on serving good products on affordable prices. Service was fantastic and atmosphere very comfortable…
In short
1- I appreciated the care of the service in a very busy restaurant
2 - good food and good portions
3 - quality and price perfect balance (worth it every penny)
4 - place, vibe etc.
worth it to come back
We were 2 adults as and 2 kids…. And we enjoyed very much

This is an awesome location in Old Montreal! Our waitress was friendly and helpful. The food is solid, and there are several vegetarian options. Bottles of wine are reasonably priced, and the salad bar is a unique feature! The lighting, decor, and music are all thoughtfully designed and create a beautiful setting. Our party of five walked in ~5PM and was seated immediately without a reservation. There was a line on our way out, so larger groups may benefit from making a reservation.

Holy crap the food is NOT worth price or calories. Ceaser salad was giving East Side Mario’s and pizza was Delissio from the frozen section. Pasta sauce was incredibly watery and bland, wasn’t even offered cracked pepper (the pastas were close to $30 each). Our server was sweet and reassuring when the drinks took long, they also killed the dirty martini and spicy margarita so that’s the reason I didn’t give 1 star. Pleeeeease save yourself and pick a different spot.

If you grew up with an emotional bond with Italian food and/or pasta is comfort food for you, this place is your go to spot. I don't have either relationship with these foods so it was just good spaghetti. The calamari was pretty good. The live music was fantastic so we chose the patio.

Delicious food and atmosphere. Everything exceeded expectations and everyone was super kind. The pesto gnocchi was the best, and truffle fries to die for. Also a very nice patio seating.

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday lunch. The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered caprese (8.5/10) for starters fettuccine Alfredo and margarita pizza and tiramisu for dessert (all 10/10)
The service was nicely timed not too quick not late. Beautiful ambience and view. Spent 76$ including tip.

Stopped into Trattoria Gio on your last day in Montreal. The atmosphere was very nice. They have outside dinning as well as their main dining room. I loved the copper pipe decor in the back. The food was very delicious. The sauce was definitely one of the better ones in the city. The presentation of the plates could be better. I feel like with the quality of taste they should have fresh parsley as a garnish not dried, and a better parmesan cheese available. Overall I recommend this restaurant for classic Italian cuisine.

I came here specifically for the salt and pepper pork chops as I read so many reviews about how this place has the best salt and pepper pork chops in Montréal. So it was a must try for me. I live in Québec City and can't find any authentic made meals from different cultures. I ordered the lunch special of the pork chops and the pork chops did not disappoint, although I wish they were a little less breaded. The lunch special comes with a dumpling soup which was delicious. The broth was so good and the dumpling good too. Overall, delicious meal. I even asked for extra onions and peppers on the side and they gave me a small container of them to go with my meal. I love the small, quaint and home style feel of this restaurant in Chinatown. I shared a table with a lovely couple since I was one person. Love meeting new people. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Food comes quick, hardly any wait for anything. I will definitely return.

Their food are trully irresistible and delicious.
I will definitely come back again.
Try one of their best seller: salt and pepper pork chops.
The dining area is not fancy but the number of customers dining are true evidence of their delicious food they serve.

Huge portions. Excellent value. Very flavourful food. My husband and I shared the famous All Dressed Salt and Pepper Pork Chops with Rice, General Tao Chicken and Peanut Butter Wontons. The pork chops were way too greasy for my liking, but my husband loved them. I enjoyed the flavour, just not all the fat. The General Tao Chicken was oddly tough and chewy but the sauce was fantastic. I loved the peanut butter wontons.

They are decently priced and their portions are huge! Loved their salt and pepper calamari and sesame beef. The service was good. It’s a bit difficult to find the place if you aren’t looking for it, I almost missed it but it’s definitely a hidden gem! Close to the subway too. Will be coming back!

Felt like having quick Cantonese dinner, found this gem in Chinatown, after checking out the menu, we order young chow fried rice, the portion was good however the taste wasn’t flavorful enough. Not salty enough and missing eggs and wok fire tasting (wok hay). Besides that only one waiter running the show, he was efficient and quick. Over all we ordered their two must order dishes, salt and pepper fried pork chops and chicken n shrimp with mayo sauce. Both dish was pretty decent, the portion to the pork chop was huge! Consumer Price index was over the chart! They must had 13 to 14 pieces of pork chops for under 14 cad. That is really good value! Besides that we ordered garlic stir fried buk choy, and bitter melon with black bean beef which was off the menu. Over all was great dinner with plenty of left over pork chops. I think we had like 7 pieces left. Will be back to this place when we are ever back to Montreal again.

Loved this place. If you have an appetite of an hungry bear , this is the spot for you. You have to grill the meats and certain side dishes to your liking. I think the meats should have a bit more seasoning or flavor to it before grilling but overall the food is pretty decent. I love the robots helpers. They are really cute and fun to watch them help bringing the food out to tables.

I love this place! The food is always fresh and for an amazing price. I always have a great time coming here. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars for the atmosphere is because they need a better ventilation system. Last time I was there I was choking for at least 30 min because of the smoke inside. Also make sure you get a reservation otherwise you'll have to wait in a long line to get inside.

We went on a Monday evening closer to the kitchen closing time. The service was fine. The food was good and it was cool to have the robot serve us. Since we did not have that much time to finish everything, they were super understanding on not to charge us for everything we could not finish. Huge shout to the manager working that day thank you. The orange juice was good too but overall they have nice drink options as well.

Very very good food and quality, service from our little robot was fast too. I tried a drink special “Whiskey Peach Iced Tea” which was well balanced with whisky and sweet tea. It was $43/person on a Sunday night

The food in terms of BBQ was good. However. Sides were not ok.... Sushi was 3/5
I liked the service. Was quick and nice and the place was good with some distance between tables. I really suggest them to work more on the side dishes as they were not good ... The meet/chicken/fish BBQ was good but a bit salty

The appetizer items (takoyaki, gyoza and fried shrimp dumplings) we're excellent, the soup was pretty good but overall basic. The ramen egg was a bit overdone. It was still a good place to eat, I would try it again. The service was amazing and very attentive!

I tried the ramen goberge. The broth was good and ingredients but I do find the ramen lacked flavour dept. I know some customers enjoy the taste and finds it flavourful enough, so it is a good ramen spot for someone who likes the taste. The service was impeccable same for atmosphere

The restaurant seats are pretty narrow, and it feels more like a simple quick place for food. Ramen isn’t the best in town but has multiple side dishes and snacks. The servers are friendly but we had quite a wait to get our food.

Well, I'm writing to say the reviews are, in fact, real. This is a great spot for soup and noodles. It says it all in the name. I had a great lunch here this past week, and I'd certainly recommend it to anyone looking for great food at a good value. The portion size was insane. But the meat was quite fatty; if you're into that, then order double meat, I guess. I don't love it super fatty, but the broth and the noodles were amazing. Also, the staff was super nice and the food came quickly. Just to note, they serve no alcohol there and they have a neat grocery store down the stairs in the restaurant.

If you’re a noodle lover visiting Montreal, Nouilles de Lan Zhou is a must-stop destination. I arrived for an early lunch with my family at 11:15 AM, and the timing couldn’t have been better—no wait, and we got a cozy spot in their lively Chinatown location.
We ordered the medium-sized bowls of their signature hand-pulled beef noodle soup. To our surprise, the “medium” was enormous, definitely generous enough to satisfy a hearty appetite. The broth was light yet full of depth, with just the right amount of spice to warm you up on a cold Montreal day. The thinly sliced beef melted in the mouth, while the noodles, freshly pulled to order, had that perfect balance of chew and tenderness.
The bowl is also a visual delight, topped with vibrant cilantro, green onions, chili oil, and a dollop of spicy bean paste that packs a punch if you mix it in. Pro tip: Come hungry or share a bowl if you’re not a big eater!
Overall, this spot delivers authentic flavors and excellent value for money. Be sure to arrive early because it’s easy to see how this place fills up quickly!
Would I return? Absolutely!

The place was super packed during the lunch time we were there and after tried them out I have no doubts why! We waited about 15 mins to get the table which is okay, not sure if it wasn't lunch time you would have to wait but maybe avoid that period of time is you're super hungry!
However, the small size of noodle bowl is super big for such a good price!!! Very affordable place to dine in. You can pick your noodle type as well and quality of food is beyond what you paid for. Everything from the soup to noodle is fantastic!!! Freshly made noodle!
Another place I highly recommended to go!

The flavor of the noodles is very good. It tends to get full really fast so expect some waiting time after 5pm. I got the dandan and I loved it.
Service is very efficient and prices are fair, the portions are very good.
Also there's an Asian market inside if you want to get something :)

If you're in the mood for a fun dining experience with tasty food, you absolutely need to check out Nouilles de Lan Zhou! One of the coolest things about this noodle shop is watching the chefs craft fresh noodles right in front of you—it's such a mesmerizing sight! The noodles are chewy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection.
The menu is packed with a great variety, so there’s definitely something for everyone to enjoy. Honestly, I’ve had the best hand-pulled noodles here! You can pick the size of your dish, whether you want small or large, the thickness of the noodles, and even how spicy you’d like the soup. The meat is super tender, and the rich beef broth is just mouthwatering!
Plus, the portions are huge and the prices are really reasonable. The service is top-notch as well! You’re in for a treat!

I love this Pho place. The price is right, the portions are big and the service is one of the fastest in town. The pho is delicious and the spicy weekend special pho is even better. I almost never have to wait for a table. One of the best spots in Chinatown imo. They have been accommodating of my food restrictions, which I appreciate a lot.
Please note they only take cash but they have an ATM next to the area where you go to pay.

Pho Bang New York is hands down the best spot for authentic Vietnamese pho in Chinatown. As a loyal customer for the past three years, I can confidently say that their quality never wavers—every visit delivers the same delicious, consistent flavors that keep me coming back.
One thing to note is that it's a cash-only establishment, but they do have an ATM inside for convenience (just be aware of the small service fee). Despite this minor inconvenience, the fantastic food and reliable experience make it well worth it.
If you're looking for a no-frills, dependable pho spot in Chinatown, Pho Bang New York is the place to go!

I am glad to say that my first time in so many years was not disappointing at all. The clear broth is rich in flavour and complements the noodles and the beef so greatly. The noodles are not overcooked unlike a lot of other restaurants and the beef is just right. The beef cooks while you eat and every bite is tender and juicy which is delightful. The service however is still a bit lacking. Even though they were efficient and polite, the waiters were not really friendly or welcoming. Most of the things were almost thrown on the table. The atmosphere is enjoyable but I do feel like it is a bit cramped in the restaurant, especially during busy times. Finally, the food is pretty affordable. For around 15$, you can get a large bowl that is quite filling. Compared to most restaurants, the price is pretty inexpensive considering that 15$ is tax included.
(5 years ago) Lovely place with great quality of beef. The broth and the noodles also tasted great. The ambiance is a bit rowdy yet still enjoyable. A little crowded given that the place isn't that big, but still had a nice time. The drinks were pretty good too. The service was friendly, but not very welcoming. Could have been because it has been a long day since we went an hour before closing time. Still, the waiter was nice. In terms of price, pretty reasonable, 9$ for a small bowl, 10$ for a large bowl and 11$ for an extra large. In my opinion, it is one of the best restaurant options in China Town.
