2 Star Rating As a one Michelin star restaurant, I expected a more refined and seamless experience, but unfortunately it did not fully meet those expectations. The ambiance was lovely and the concept of the restaurant was clearly well thought out. The dishes were well executed and enjoyable, though not particularly exquisite or memorable at the level one might anticipate for this distinction. The service was inconsistent. The rotation of multiple servers made the experience feel less intimate, and our main server was noticeably less attentive and polished than her peers. She came across as cold and unwelcoming, and at one point threw the receipt onto the table instead of handing it to us, which felt abrupt and disrespectful. This significantly detracted from the overall experience. There were also a few noticeable oversights. One of the maple syrup desserts was initially left out, and we were already presented with the receipt. I had to point it out before she asked whether we preferred to have it served immediately or take it home. As the experience already felt somewhat cut short, we chose to take it to go. We were also served the apple trompe l’oeil without a spoon, which added to the sense of disorganization. For a one Michelin star restaurant, there is certainly more to be desired. While I would not necessarily recommend it to everyone, I believe many guests may still appreciate the ambiance and overall concept.

3 Star Rating The service at Europea is high level, the staff is knowledgeable, proactive, and deeply professional, but the kitchen seems to be relying on the fact of having a Michelin star. While the presentation is theatrical, the technical execution is surprisingly flat. In high-end gastronomy, you expect the flavors to be vibrant and precise, but many of the plates felt flat and totally unsalted. Unfortunately the technical execution in the kitchen has taken a backseat. It’s worth seeing once for the spectacle, but for a palate driven meal, there are  more options in the city. Great theater, but the flavors simply aren't meeting the prestige.

5 Star Rating I went for New Years Eve and it was a spectacular dinner. I had the full menu gastronomique as well as a special New Years wine pairing. Everything was perfect. The staff was efficient and friendly. The sommelier was both friendly and very knowledgeable. The food had the right amount of theater without seeming cliche and also maintaining the excellence of each dish. Too many different dishes to go into detail here but highlights include lobster tail, Kobe beef and a wonderful oyster dish. Nice touch was that they give you cards that provide the backstory for each dish, I found it very helpful as I normally miss part of what the server says when presenting. Definitely an experience restaurant that I would recommend when you are in Montreal.

4 Star Rating Decent tasting menu with fun plates. The anniversary 12-course menu was also very reasonable price (95$ per person), though it skews a but too much on sea food. I also wasn't the biggest fan of the pacing, they really crowd the table with 3-6 plates at once, which makes it difficult to enjoy and savor each one. Overall, we were really impressed by roughly half of the 12 courses, the rest were just fine. It was a fun one time experience but not sure if I'd go again, maybe if there was another less seafood heavy menu.

5 Star Rating We went as a family, and got the gourmet table, ordered as a group the menu signature, everything was great, the lobster was perfect, the beef was awesome, the desert was really light and refreshing after such a rich meal. The service was next level and everyone very agreeable. The new interior is great looking (last time we went was a long time ago at the original location). I highly recommend ! Side note : I would not choose a table on the balcony if I were you. You will get all the smoke of the cooking done by the waiters in front of the clients, the japanese charcoal bbq is especially not great indoors in my opinion it produces a lot of smoke.

4 Star Rating Seriously cool wooden décor and great atmosphere, great on game night. But man, the food makes your stomach ache. Oil too old or smth, my body reacts to this kind of stuff. They say 500g or 1kg wings, but half of that is more fries so idk. Good beer selection though, and above average cocktails than you'd expect in a pub. I'd come back, but not as often as I'd like. Edit: I appreciate the response. Deep fried food either home-cooked or from most other restaurants doesn't cause stomach aches. Idk what happened, but you guys do a good job at atmosphere, employee uniforms are a nice touch 👌

We decided to stay and give it a try anyway but the food was just okay, forgetable even. Service was excellent, they made us feel very welcome and special. We might come back for the other tasting menu as it’s the one that looks impressive.

5 Star Rating During our 4-day, 3-night trip to Montreal, the restaurant that caught my eye was Jérôme Ferrer. Known for its French-themed decor, professional service, and gastronomic excellence, it was top of my list. Though we could only fit it in for a final lunch before heading home, it did not disappoint. We opted for the 3-course lunch menu, complemented by a first bite and dark chocolate, and included a glass of red or white wine. - **Welcoming Dish**: Crostini with hors d'oeuvres of the day—simple yet crunchy, a perfect start. - **Side Order**: Freshly served table bread with butter, accompanied by a mix of oil and balsamic. - **1st Course**: Vinaigrette salad atop a warm buttered pastry, beautifully presented with balsamic vinegar on the side. - **2nd Course**: Steak with a choice of fries or mashed potatoes (go for the mashed potatoes; they’re outstanding). - **3rd Course**: Chocolate mousse, elegantly garnished with silver flakes and mineral gold. To cap off our meal, we enjoyed housemade dark chocolate with a thoughtful note from the restaurant. Overall, this lunch was one of the highlights of our trip and ranks among the top dining experiences.

5 Star Rating Cozy little brewery in Montreal! We were here for the day and stopped in to have a local beer and the pulled pork poutine. Was top tier. The bar tender was friendly and it was nice to talk to some locals at the bar. Was a very warm and inviting atmosphere especially with it being so cold outside. A full bar, small tables, and a little stage inside. Wish we got to see some live music, maybe next time. Overall, great beer and poutine!

4 Star Rating This is a solid spot to stop in for a quick pint and some genuinely good beer. We dropped by on Saturday before a concert at the Bell Centre and were pleasantly surprised. Service was fast, and there was plenty of space when we walked in. I had the nut brown ale, which was smooth and well balanced. My wife went with the West Coast IPA and enjoyed it just as much. Two beers for $20 isn’t bad for downtown Montreal, especially on Crescent Street. They offer around a dozen house-brewed beers on tap, along with a few guest taps. Overall, a reliable place to grab a beer before an event.

5 Star Rating I was fortunate to find this cozy little bar when I was in Montreal recently. I was looking for a brew pub to try out some local beers and Brutopia left me very satisfied. The New England IPA was my favourite, but I also enjoyed the Green Phantom Ale (actually green) and the La Duchesses IPA. Furthermore, the food was tasty AND inexpensive. We enjoyed the Nachos, but the home made BBQ sauce that came with the hot wings was uniquely delicious.

5 Star Rating I’m here on business, and I’ve eaten in many 4-star hotel restaurants. This one, by far has stolen my heart. You would think if you’ve had one breakfast buffet, you’ve had them all. This one is much different. The fare is typical by most standards, but the care and quality of fresh ingredients, including fresh bruschetta for your creamy scrambled eggs was a perfect touch. Montreal is fantastic for promoting local breweries. They also serve their pints with in house, thick cut and seasoned potato chips! I wasn’t starving, so some sides for dinner sounded great. The carpaccio and fried Quebec cheese curds hit the spot. Don’t skip on this place if you’re staying here!

5 Star Rating Da Vinci Ristorante is, without question, one of the finest Italian restaurants in the city, delivering an unforgettable dining experience that blends authentic cuisine with impeccable service. From the moment we stepped into the elegant yet warm ambiance, we were transported to the heart of a traditional Italy cuisine. The highlight of my evening was the rack of lamb (picturef), cooked to absolute perfection, tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor, with a rosemary infused crust that elevated every bite. My meal began with the salmon tartare starter, a delightful symphony of fresh, velvety salmon, accented with zesty citrus and delicate spices, a true testament to Da Vinci’s commitment to quality ingredients. The service was nothing short of exceptional. The staff was attentive, warm, and genuinely invested in making our evening special. The atmosphere, with its sophisticated yet cozy vibe, made it the ideal setting for a memorable night out with my wife, brother-in-law and sister-in-law. Da Vinci Ristorante is a gem that exceeds expectations, offering world-class Italian fare and hospitality that leaves you eager to return. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a culinary experience that’s as heartfelt as it is exquisite.

4 Star Rating My husband and I dined here for our anniversary as family gifted us with gift cards. It is a quaint little restaurant in the heart of downtown. The food was very tasty, the presentation was very pretty, the portions were good, the service was fast and efficient (although the attention we received was overkill - the waiter, although very kind, checked in on us literally every 5 minutes) We were disappointed with the risotto as we expected a thicker consistency, but it was too ‘soupy’ in our humble opinion. The resto serves the cutest complimentary appetizer (first picture- we were 2 so there were 2 of each item). I do recommend if you don’t mind spending $$ as the food is excellent, however, the prices are over what I am willing to spend for dining out and so would not return (A bottle of Perrier is $12, my 3 shrimp appetizer is $48, etc)

5 Star Rating Great ambiance. Classic steakhouse. They dry age their meat at least 30 days. Service is what you would expect at a restaurant of this caliber. It is exceptional. The team took care of our party of 5 really well- no complaints. They also come and show you the steak that they will be making for you before they make it which is quite nice. The last time I went they had a few items which they didn’t have this time. Maybe they were specials? The last time i went, they had a cap steak which is supposed to be most flavourful part of a rib-eye.

5 Star Rating The service from the moment you walk in the door is superb. The food, presentation, service, and ambience, are all a great upscale experience. For example, we all walked in with laptop bags and they stored them for us securely. All the staff were very accommodating, observant, and there to serve. The waiters offered a few suggestions to share to keep costs down. (Note that the restaurant is upscale and a bit pricey). The steaks we had could easily be shared by 2 or even 3 people. I had the unique opportunity to talk to an assistant chef that previously worked there, and he had only the best to say about the restaurant, the food quality, the chefs, and the overall management. He said, "you picked the right place."

5 Star Rating Incredible dining experience. This place is not just your typical steakhouse. The menu is very extensive and includes a nice pic of seafood and steaks. I would highly recommend the tartare and they'll give table side service so you get to see it mixed in front of you. For the main entrees they bring the meats to you before they cook them so you get to see the raw cut (first time a restaurant has ever done this for me). I chose to get the lamb as my main and loved it. The rest of my table got steaks and they were some of the biggest steaks I've ever seen. I think the best part was the side dishes which rivaled the meat for which was better and made it difficult to finish the meal (but of course we did). We got 4 desserts (chocolate souffle, creme brulee, death by chocolate, and cheesecake) for a table of 6 and somehow managed to finish those too. I'm usually not a fan of cheesecake but this one was amazing. Pricey but worth it (and it can be not too pricey if you just don't choose the most expensive steaks).

The spaghetti alla bottarga got no unami flavor, we couldn’t taste any fish toe but just strong acidity from the lemon, which was way too overpowering. Beef cut was too chewy, pork was better but not standing out. The appetizer of carppacio is very normal, mushroom underneath but not very well integrated in flavor. Sea bream cheek was meh-ok, standard olive oil with some balsamic. The tuna sauce of potato is too bad, the fishy-ness all came out. Dessert - the citrus mascarpone one has good composition, salt and olive oil on top are nice. But the signature tarte noire is just a dense chocolate cake, all of us have tasted some bitterness. Only dish worth eating is the tagliatelle alla bolognese. Good in texture, taste and classic. Service was bad, the waiter was not very patient. Gave our table the wrong order two times, once from the other table, then taking away and didn’t apologize. Then second forgot about the sauce on side note. I still tipped reasonably but now I kind of regret it for the below average food experience and service. That’s all, would not recommend.

5 Star Rating We had an amazing experience at Nora Gray. We ate at the bar. The food was so delicious, interesting and so well executed. Ben who was at the bar looked after us. He was amazing. He had great suggestions for food wine and digestifs. Truly a great evening. Thanks Nora Gray and Ben, we’ll be back.

4 Star Rating Great vibe, very decent food. Service was exceedingly slow. Very, very slow service, though the service in general was very polite and gave good insight on the menu. Meal easily took 30-45 minutes longer than it needed to just on service time, and I am not one to nitpick on this, it just killed the flow of an otherwise great dinner. The food was great quality. Asparagus was great, along with all the pastas. The beef was tough, though it was well cooked with a great sauce. The pork was also very tasty. I would go back, but only if the service issues are fixed.

5 Star Rating The food and atmosphere were incredible. We ordered the beef appetizer with their focaccia and the mushroom pasta special and pork dish. We usually don’t get dessert but loved every dish so decided on the chocolate dish. It was all so delicious! The staff was also very friendly and helpful with wine and food descriptions. I would recommend to anyone!

4 Star Rating Maybe I had too high hopes for Nora Gray, because last night’s birthday dinner with my wife was a bit of a letdown, and I’m blaming the wine. We ordered the “Teresa Cascina Tavijn” red Italian wine, which was far too acidy and lacked a complexity of flavour. Choosing the right wine is so important. It can make or break and evening at an upscale restaurant like Nora Gray. Our waitress was amazing and gave us an in depth explanation of the food and wine, so it’s nobody’s fault but our own for choosing one that wasn’t to our tastes. Nora Gray’s service and atmosphere is truly top notch, in this warm and cosy nook of a restaurant. One of the highlights of the evening was the “Flétan de la Gaspésie, salsa d'oignons brûlés, petit lait, Ciabot del Moreto '20”, which was a powerhouse of flavour and left us both raving. The “Viola Olive Oil” from Cucina Imports that we asked to be poured on a small dish was one of the best olive oils I’ve ever tasted, and well worth the $4 fee. It was perfect for wiping up with the “Focaccia Maison”. Unfortunately, one of the low points of the night was the “Battuta de boeuf, puntarelle, anchois, ail” which was far too chewy for a tartare. Tartare is supposed to be so tender that it melts in your mouth, but this was so gummy that I had to give up on champing and hide bits of half eaten beef in my napkin. Another dish that was less than memorable was the “Farro de Pacina, jus de volaille, poivre”. So, at one point our night out wasn’t looking great, but thankfully it was saved by a mind blowingly spectacular desert called the “Mousse chocolat et ricotta, crème à l'huile d'olive, noisettes”. It was a prefect blend of sweet, salt and more scrumptious olive oil. In the end, I would recommend giving Nora Gray a try and hopefully you’ll have better luck with the wine. I heard that they have an outdoor patio in the summer time, which sounds like fun.
