Absolutely beautiful hotel with a true boutique experience. The hotel is incredibly clean, updated and stylish. The staff is professional and offered exceptional service. The classic queen room I stayed in was so comfortable and I felt relaxed the entire stay. The bedding was perfect, and the windows almost completely soundproof. I’m a light sleeper and am easily awakened by noise (especially from cars). I didn’t have that issue at Le Germain. The location is PERFECT. It’s a quick walk to 2 metro stations and the trails of Mont Royal.
Also, random, but the shampoo and soap they provide are absolutely amazing. I have sensitive skin and usually can’t use hotel toiletries, but whatever brand they’re using is super high quality. It also smells sooooo good I wish I had bought some to take home. I’d stay here again and again.

It's a beautiful hotel, inside and out. The colourful exterior was a pleasant surprise. Inside, it is elegant, but still comfortable. Dinner and breakfast at the restaurant were very memorable, and worth repeating soon. The scallops and the dessert were next level awesome! Amazing luxury bedding that I have now put on my Christmas list! I felt taken care of and special staying here. I love the little touches like the honey and the chocolates. Cool wallpaper in the bathroom as well.

Great location — but what really sets this place apart is the atmosphere. It manages to blend cozy comfort with a luxury feel, which is surprisingly rare. You get that warm, intimate vibe, but with high-end details that still make it feel special and upscale.
The hotel is extremely clean. Not just “fine,” but genuinely spotless and well cared for. Rooms, linens, bathrooms, hallways — everything felt fresh, tidy, and thoughtfully maintained. Huge plus if you notice these things like we do.
Check-in was fast and easy. No long waits, no confusion — efficient and smooth from start to finish. Staff clearly know what they’re doing, and it shows.
Perfect for a couple’s weekend. If you're looking for somewhere stylish, clean, romantic, and stress-free, this is a great pick. We honestly left impressed. Would definitely come back!

The rooms are tight, even to open the door! And what is up with the window from the shower to the bed? If I wanted my party to see me shower, I would have showered outside! Dumb. I didnt sign up for that feture. The bed was comfy and the pillows were very soft. Just like i like them. Vallet service was very on top of their game. Worth every cent I tipped them. The hotel itself is in a quiet location. So that's a plus as well

Had an incredible stay at the Le Germain. The restaurant is fabulous, the staff was so accommodating and helpful and kind. The bed was extremely comfortable as well. And the location was great, walkable to restaurants and shopping. Would definitely recommend!

We stopped here for our last night in Montreal for dinner. The staff were quick, attentive and very polite. The food was outstanding. We split a Cesar salad for starter and no word of a lie, it was just lettuce, croutons and dressing but one of the best Cesar salads I’ve ever had. The extensive pizza menu features tons of beautiful, freshly made items all prepared in a wood fired oven. I had the salamino (#54) and hubby had the arugula(#71). Both were fantastic. We took an order of cannolis to go, and they were out of this world. The cream was thick and delicious with just a hint of lemon. The restaurant was packed with a lively, friendly vibe. Plus it was super close to our hotel so it was a great choice. I would recommend it to anyone. Total for dinner plus hubby’s two beers and tip was $122.23

By far, the best pizza I've had in Montreal. I went with a group of 7 friends. All our pizzas arrived in a reasonable time. I ordered a simple peperonata pizza. The crust was perfect in crustiness and the tomato sauce was rich and well balanced. Our waiters were very welcoming, friendly and professional. I highly recommend Pizza II Focolaio. They have over 70 options to choose from in terms of toppings combinations, so I'll definitely be coming back to try another!

A must stop if you are in Montreal. We went on a Saturday evening and while here was a little bit of a line up and wait, it was well worth it. The pizzas were tasty, full of flavour and the chilli oil enhanced the taste. The deserts topped it off. Will definitely comeback for more.

6/5 stars! Best service I have ever had at any restaurant ever. The staff were all so friendly and attentive. The food was also amazing! Great pizza and tons of options. Huge portions for the salads too.

Authentic italian pizzas right downtown Montreal. Love their pizzas. The price is very reasonable too for the portion. A lot of variety to choose, way too many!
Their turfuto italian ice cream is a MUST!

I have not had a chance to sample the food. I have been too busy trying the many beers they have on tap! The wait staff is friendly and courteous. They will make drink recommendations when asked. It usually has a fun, Irish Pub kind of feel as the night wears on.

The atmosphere was lively and festive.
For food, we ordered the Walsh Burger, and it was glorious—juicy, flavorful, and exactly what we were craving.
The service was excellent; the staff was friendly and attentive

Arlene was the BEST. So funny, fun, and genuinely made our night. It felt like hanging out with a friend rather than just being served. She kept us laughing and took amazing care of us the whole time. We’d come back just for her.

We sat at the bar for dinner. The fact that it wasn’t busy on a Saturday night should have told us something. After a couple beers, we ordered chicken fingers with onion rings and fish and chips.
Both were large portions and the quality was good but not great. It irritated us that we were charged $.75 for an extra tartar sauce.
Our bartender Tara was personable and efficient. But we wish we had waited in line for our first choice.

Great service and good choice of food. Especially thank you to ML who was awesome with us !
The porc knuckle is great the porc burger okay - a bit heavy - and the regular cheese burger very nice- the fries were very dry so I recommend getting the coleslaw or pay extra for another choice of sweet potato fries.
The halloumi appetiser was ok so not worth the 13$ in my opinion
Overall good experience with nice staff and convenient location

I went to 3 Brasseurs McGill on a weekday, and even though it was pretty busy, the atmosphere was lively and fun. The service was a bit on the slower side, but the staff were friendly and accommodating once things got moving.
The food itself was great, everything came out fresh and tasty. I especially appreciated the kids’ meals, which were a really good deal and made it easy to enjoy a family night out without breaking the bank.
Overall, it’s a solid spot for good food and a vibrant vibe, just be prepared for a little wait if it’s busy.

I usually never leave reviews, but I visited this restaurant for the first time tonight with my friend and truly enjoyed the experience. The food was great, and we especially loved their beer, particularly the amber one.
Although the restaurant was busy, the service was excellent and very fast. I especially want to mention our server, Mathias. He was incredibly kind, and his service was a big part of what made our experience so enjoyable. A big shout-out to him!
Thank you, Mathias. We will definitely come back!

The service was fast and efficient. Attentive and present
We generally liked everything but nothing was wow. Fresh tuna in the tartar. Spicy chicken burger was good but not very tender. I enjoyed the vegetables flamm wrap even though it was missing sauce to my taste.
Didn't like the terrasse, to close to the street, chair in old metal, but we could have sat inside too.
For a simple and warm meal, I would go again, and I would try other things, the menu seems riche.

We recently had a positive experience at Sho Dan Sushi in Montreal. After a day of Browse the fantastic boutiques and shops nearby, it was the perfect place to unwind and grab a bite. The sushi was fresh, with a beautiful, clean flavor, and the staff were very friendly, which made the whole experience even better. It’s a great spot for anyone looking for delicious, high-quality sushi and excellent service, especially when you’re in the mood for a shopping break.

Swanky sushi place with upscale ambiance and attentive wait staff. The two specialty rolls we had (Adam and Black Dragon) were exceptional and creative. However, the edamame was overcooked and the non-specialty rolls were bland tasting, though beautiful looking. Stick to the specialty rolls and you'll have an exceptional meal!

This was fantastic. The quality and craftsmanship of everything we had was over the top. The least amazing dish was the gyoza, which was still good.

Delightful sushi, amazingly fresh fish, original flavours and textures— definitely some of the best sushi in the city. Yes the price is steep, but it is reflected in the quality and quantity of the fish, beautiful presentation, and great service.

First of all, the restaurant itself looks amazing — very comfortable sofas, well-spaced tables, and a beautiful design. I honestly didn’t expect such an atmospheric place, especially knowing the prices beforehand (which are surprisingly affordable for a place like this).
We ordered the onion soup, served with a rich cheesy topping — it was absolutely delicious. To be honest, after the soup alone I already felt full and completely satisfied😁
But we didn’t stop there and ordered a smoked meat sandwich. It was outstanding: a huge portion with incredibly juicy meat and wonderful bread, very soft inside with a crispy crust served with fries on the side🤤
I don’t live in Montreal, but we love this city and visit it often just to enjoy our time there. Now I know for sure that we’ll also be enjoying great food every time we come. You can really feel that everything in this restaurant is prepared with care and soul😌

A little more expensive then elsewhere, but the portions reflect that and you get big plates of food.
Everything we had was very good.
Sadly, my burger was slightly over cooked, certainly not medium as advertised. Still good though.
Desserts are delicious.
Service was excellent! Knowledgeable, friendly, bilingual, fast!
All in all a good meal. There's no way you leave this restaurant hungry!

Not to be confused with the larger, more popular and (at least visually) more appealing Reuben's Deli and Steakhouse a couple hundred meters down Saint Catherines. Waitress did a great job schoomzing us here but I felt like a sucker. The smoked meat and wine were mediocre. Poutine and coleslaw weren't bad though.
Mark - 6 months ago
Great experience, thanks to our server for all the recommendations and hospitality. Definitely one of our top 3 meals in Montreal, smoked meat sandwich was the best out of the 3 or 4 places we tried and what a value. It's like eating a thinly sliced perfectly cooked prime rib as the beef flavour and fattiness is perfection. At $29 incl. Fries, coleslaw, and a pickle the price is super fair for the location and comfortable seating. The service was top notch, attentive, and accommodating. Also tried their cheesecake which is very good as well.

A very unique venue. First round of service took a very long time for someone to take our order and after that it was fine. Drinks were on the pricey side. Went to see Freddie James Project and they were excellent! Would return to see them again.

Le Balcon was such a a cool experience. From the venue (a church!), from the food (so yummy), to the entertainment!!! Every step of the way, a true an experience!! Filip, our waiter, was truly attentive added to the vibes. 12/10 would recommend!

The venue is absolutely stunning with amazing acoustics. We went to see Old soul there and it was undoubtedly the best sounding show of theirs we have been to.
The staff is amazing and very helpful, since it is a bit of a maze going through the church.
Special shout out to Mila for being so helpful and knowledgeable about the location and everything surrounding the venue.

Had such a blast on the Valentine's jazz night.
It's pretty sad to have to rate four stars instead of five for some of small things during it.
First of all, the food, the staff, the band, the singer, the wine, atmosphere, location, everything I mentioned above is beyond AMAZING! No complaints on those at all.
Sadly I didn't quite enjoy the cocktails so much, we ordered two different cocktails and neither of them can step up with our high expectations, with the price and all the good things I mentioned above.
For sure this place is perfect for special occasions, as it's a fancy place to dine, behind and inside of an old church. That part I think it's brilliant!
The toilets are quite limited as it's inside the old church but it was not packed at all so I don't find this a negative thing.
In summary, best fancy place for live music, food, wine selections not so much for cocktails (in my opinion) OR maybe if you try different cocktails it would have been better. Still recommended!
