L’Avenue is and has been for years hands down one of Montreal’s brunch gems. I had about a 15 minute wait outside this time, but it was absolutely worth it just like every visit over the years. The eggs Benedict were perfection, and everything else on the table was just as impressive. Portions are generous, flavors are spot on, and the presentation is always creative. The vibrant decor gives the place such a fun energy, and the staff are consistently warm, attentive, and efficient, no matter how busy it gets. L’Avenue never a letdown!

L’Avenue was amazing! The portions were huge and the food was incredibly satisfying. I had the Bobby Does Dallas and the classic Eggs Benedict, both packed with flavour and very filling
The blueberry pancakes were also delicious.
Ceaser was one of the best I’ve had in Montreal. Would come back for brunch again.

I absolutely loved this place and will definitely go back if I am in Montreal again!
I got the Pistachio latte(10/10) and the Indecisive which is basically sort of a build your own platter with all their best stuff.
First off, the portion was huge for 1. There’s a good chance that you won’t be able to finish it, especially if you have a drink as well.
The lemon blueberry pancakes were simply some of the best I have had. Fluffy and super delicious.
The potatoes are their specialty and extremely flavourful (way more than any breakfast potato I have ever had)
The cream cheese I got on the side with the bagel was really different and zingy and good too.
Overall, highly recommend for brunch!
Take someone with you so you guys can try a few different things because the pancakes and french toast options are incredible!

Went here with a couple friends hoping for a good brunch. There will be a line the later you come on the weekend. The smoothies were divine, and they had a good selection of meat and vegetarian options. It had a really cool vibe too with lots of graffiti and cool designs, and the staff have great uniforms. Would definitely go again.

A must go brunch store. Every dish is so big and so good too! It’s really affordable! I love the truffle duck egg Benedict! The omelet is so tasty as well! Def will come back again! Don’t forget to check their dope restrooms!

No wonder they call this the legendary urban sandwich spot.
Nestled in the heart of Plateau Mont-Royal, La Kahwa Café has become a go-to destination for sandwich lovers, and it’s easy to see why. Over the past few years, its reputation has skyrocketed — and frankly, who can blame them when their sandwiches are straight fire?
Generous portions, bold flavors, and wallet-friendly prices — it’s a winning formula that never disappoints.
We had the chance to try their Tuna Sandwich, a mouthwatering creation packed with Tunisian-style tuna, a perfectly fried egg, fresh veggies, and of course, their famous Kahwa sauce that ties it all together. All of this goodness comes piled into a warm, toasted bun that’s as satisfying as it sounds.
If you’re looking for a spot that delivers on flavor, portion, and price, La Kahwa Café is a must-visit. Highly recommended.

I just ate maybe the best sandwich I’ve ever had in my entire life. I could eat here every day for the next 20 years and not get tired of it. A lot of the best sandwiches I’ve had are carried by the meat. This sandwich’s meat was probably the least good thing about it and even then it was absolutely delicious. The bread and sauce are unreal. I can’t recommend going here enough you won’t regret it.

The best sandwiches! We tried the Chicken Panko Sandwich and it was delicious. The bread was freshly baked and the chicken filling with the veggies and sauce was simply amazing.
Definitely visiting again!

One of the best sandwich cafes in Montreal. The bread is fresh and made from scratch at the cafe. The price is also very reasonable for the amount.
I tried the Poulet and the tuna sandwich, which were simply delicious and I'm definitely gonna try the rest soon.
Also their fries are ♥️

Stumped upon this place on tiktok and looked very interesting. I must say i was actually blown away. These sandwiches were amazing! The fresh baked bread was definitely the key to everything coming together. The chicken is the way to go. Probably one the best food i had in mtl. Staff were friendly and gave us the best recommendations. Highly recommend.

At first, nobody came to welcome us at the door for a good 20-30 minutes. The owner was nice and took his time to explain the menu. We didn’t have the best experience with the royal coucous. The merguez and lamb wasn’t too flavourful. We recommend trying the soup and beef briks.

Tasty couscous and friendly service in a fine-dining like resto. The only thing I did’t like was the hot spice in the food, it was too much for me. If you’re the same don’t think of trying their harissa 🔥(friendly advice). Else I recommend this place, enjoy!

I am so glad we chose this restaurant for a relaxing family lunch. The owner Noureddine was kind and welcoming. We enjoyed a large, filling meal with cucumber & tomato salad, assorted olives, pastilla au poule, vegetable soup, lamb tagine, kofta meatballs, couscous, chicken over rice, and then topped it off with tea, coffee & dates. Wow! Each dish was better than the last. All the meat was tender, the vegetables were fresh & well-cooked, and everything was seasoned perfectly. The environment is warm and relaxed. I wish we lived in the area so we could come again and again.

I’ve been here 4 times and it has never disappointed! The service is great and the food is great. The price is also really good. It’s my new favourite spot to grab a quick bite!

The service was amazing. Super nice and attentive. Loved the ambiance, the music…
On the other hand, the beef had a lot of pieces of fat, like more than half the meat in my tacos :(
(I had 3, and all had a lot of pieces of fat in them) Not too sure if it’s custom in this type of cuisine, but I haven’t had this many pieces in any other restaurant that served the same dish.
As for the other two, missing flavor, but texture was good!!
Probably would not return, but for people who don’t mind pieces of fat, worth trying 😊

For the price, the food is pretty great! It’s not my favourite flavour wise, but it’s still high quality, tasty and original as a taco place (try their queso fundido, I believe it’s one of their specialties).
Friendly service, nice summer terrace and pleasant atmosphere.

Ok I wanted mexican and this was good. Street like. No fanfare just tacos. If that's your cup of tea go for it. It was very good. It came recommended. But I prefer the works, like guacamole chips and margaritas. They did have beer.
If you want something quick this is the place.

On our recent visit to Montreal we discovered this local little spot. We were so impressed after our first dinner there, we had to make sure we visited again before we left. The salsas were delicious, the al pastor tacos had just the right amount of fresh pineapple (not from a can!) And the queso was warm, stringy and delicious. The tortillas were not dry and actually had a nice flavour. The prices were very reasonable and our waitress was lovely and friendly. Dont pass by this little corner of mexican deliciousness - make sure you stop in and enjoy some great tacos. You won't be disappointed.

We had an amazing dining experience at Ibéricos Taverne à Tapas Espagnoles! Every tapa we ordered was absolutely delicious—perfectly prepared with rich flavors and fresh ingredients. The highlight of the night was definitely the squid ink paella—deep, savory, and unforgettable. It quickly became one of our favorites. The atmosphere was warm and lively, and the service was friendly and attentive. A must-visit if you're in the mood for authentic Spanish tapas done right!
jennifer yang - 4 weeks ago
good food overall. the best dishes that we ordered were the cod fritters, the fried eggplant and the octopus tapas. The brie baguette did not stand out for the price. Dishes are definitely pricey but worth trying at least once. My only complaint is the use of the strictly digital menu which was a hassle.
Juliana Botelho - 5 months ago
Ibéricos was such a lovely experience, I debated giving it 5 stars.
The service was very friendly and took care of us the entire night. They let us sit down 30 mins earlier than our reservation.
The atmosphere was like a chic underground bar. It was funny trying to find the entrance through the yellow door, but when you step in, it's cozy and filled with warm light. You can see the paella pans hanging along with a huge jambon.
The food itself was delicious. We started with the croquettes, the calamari, and the fried eggplant tapas. Each tasted great, but I did find the calamari and the eggplant tasting very similar.
The highlight of the night was definitely the paella. We got both the rabbit/chicken and the seafood paella. Both had that crispy, smoky rice at the bottom, and the meat was very tender. The lemon gave it a nice freshness that really elevated the dish.
Overall, I'm really happy with this place, and just describing the dishes makes me hungry. I will be coming back for sure.

To be honest, my overall dining experience in Montreal was a bit disappointing. I probably had too high expectations, and that led to my letdown. I had high hopes for **Ibéricos**, and why wouldn’t I? Venezuelans are known for offering great customer service, and no matter where you go, they always manage to make you smile or have a good time.
That being said, it may not be entirely the owner’s or chef’s fault, but if I were to offer some advice, I’d suggest they focus on improving customer service. They could definitely work on making sure their staff provides better service. We were never greeted when we arrived, and a few of the staff members just looked at us and ignored us as if we didn’t matter. It wasn’t until about 10 minutes later that we had to ask where we could sit. Honestly, the service felt cold and disinterested.
The food, however, was excellent – I have no complaints there. The paella was delicious, with the socarrat cooked perfectly, and the presentation was spot-on, 10/10.
The Basque cheesecake was a nice way to end the meal and definitely made the experience a bit better. It was fantastic, 10/10.
P.S. I’m not sure if he was a waiter or a busboy, and he didn’t introduce himself, but he spoke only French and had dark skin. Thanks to him, my time at the restaurant ended on a positive note. He was a really nice guy, and I hope they take care of him.

As someone who visited the place where Beherovka is made (Karlovy Vary) as a child, to find a Czech bar that serves cocktails based on the liqueur was a miracle! The drink menu is so unique, the atmosphere so chill - kind of Bierhalle- like, and the staff so so nice! Will be coming back for more!

Laidback atmosphere, live jazz and a welcoming staff, makes Bily Kun my favourite bar. The taxidermied ostrich heads dotting the walls are an inspired touch to a room that must have been an old man's tavern in a different era. I was told that the heads come from an ostrich farm outside Montreal. Apparently, before Bily Kun first opened, a false ceiling hid the gorgeous mouldings that were only discovered during renovations.
Today, you'll find a selection of Czechoslovakian drinks on the menu, as the owner has an affinity for everything Czech. Actually, Bily Kun means "white horse" in Czechoslovakian and is the name of a bar in Czechoslovakia that the owner enjoyed. I heard he also owns the similarly named downtown bar called the Cheval Blanc.
Bily Kun makes a mean mixed drink, but if you're looking for something hard-core and traditionally Czech, try the chilled Slivovitz.

I've visited Arriba Burrito Express a few times, and I can say I've had a great experience. As a vegetarian, I ordered the chili burrito and tacos. The spice level is just right, they always add plenty of ingredients, and the food comes hot and satisfying.
The atmosphere is also great for hanging out with friends and enjoying an afternoon. Now in the summer, they have outdoor seating and music.
I recommend this place not only to vegetarians but also to anyone else, the food is not only delicious but also a great portion for the price.

I stopped by Arriba Burrito to grab the tofu chilli bowl. I thought the bowl was okay but very oily. There are no waiters or cashiers. You have to order on a screen and then pick up your food when it's ready. The restaurant was quiet but felt crowded with all the restaurant stock around you. Their red hot sauce is really good but I think it was old since it was past it's best by date. Overall I had an alright experience, I might try their burritos next time.

Wow... dinner here last night with my wife was one of the best meals either of us have had in a really long time, and as true foodies who cook all the time and love exploring and eating at all kinds of wonderful places... trust me when I say that's saying something!
The food here is astonishingly good!! We started with the escargot which is impeccable, just delicious in every way... my wife had the incredible leg of lamb, and I had the extraordinary cassoulets... wow. It's hard to explain how amazing the guys in the kitchen's food truly is, I was looking for any critique possible and I didn't have one, a perfect 10/10 meal.
Atmosphere is amazing, everyone else there was sitting enjoying each other's company and food and sharing the wine they all brought... another incredible aspect of the place! The lady serving us was very friendly and happy as well. This is a hidden gem 100%... share a stunning meal with the people you care about 👌🏻

Our server, Chelsea, greeted us when we entered. While our reservation didn't get received for some reason, she welcomed us, and seated us. We arrived at 6:30 pm and the restaurant filled up over the next 45 minutes. Be sure to make a reservation.
I appreciated that Chelsea wasn't pretentious and she didn't push appetizers or dessert. She simply made excellent recommendations. When the restaurant was full, and she was busy, she efficiently handled the rush.
I had the veal shank with vegetables, which was excellent, and quite filling. We would definitely eat there again!

One of the things that I've always loved about visiting Montréal is the wonderful dining experiences that you can have there, and P'tit Plateau is a great example of that. Classic French-style dishes beautifully prepared, with warm service in a cozy setting. The BYOB is an added plus as you can be sure to bring something you know that you'll like to drink.

Our party of six, including my 4-year-old, had an absolutely wonderful dining experience here. The service was very attentive and accommodating, including to my son's ridiculous request for a chair for the stuffed animal he got at La Ronde that day. It was BYOB but wine glasses and a champagne bucket with ice were brought out immediately for us. I ordered the poached salmon filet with shrimp and it was the best salmon I've ever had - it was cooked perfectly with a flavorful white wine cream sauce. No one had any complaints about the appetizers and main dishes they ordered. Desserts were also flawless - the meringue was light and absolutely delectable. Highly recommended!

What a fabulous restaurant this was and even better dining experience. The service was on point and the food was fresh, tasty and well worth the visit. If you enjoy a nice intimate dinner with a loved one or friends then I highly recommend visiting P'tit Plateau.
Update 2025 - Came back here to visit after seeing a change on their menu from prix fix to standard a la carte. The restaurant underwent new ownership but I'm happy to say the quality of food continues to excel, alongside the service. If I can make one recommendation, it's to attempt to change the menu either seasonally or yearly. It'll definitely keep me coming back.

I was looking forward to trying their sushi Tokyo, cause they looked so fresh and flavourful on their customers’ pictures. I didn’t expect anything amazing, but this was just terrible. Both my boyfriend and I ordered different sushi types and they were all bland, dry and flavourless. The tuna wasn’t the bright red that I expected in the pictures, it was almost a colourless light brown/pink… same for much of the other fish.
The snack options are good, prices are decent for those. As for the sushi, not worth the price. About the same as a restaurant which I’d rather go to.

Interesting store …. Basic shelves …. Alloy a/ steel metallic shelves thru out. All items displayed as is but many more items from Taiwan and Japan compare to most other stores which mostly import made in china items.
Decent price. Not overly expensive but not the lowest but really reasonable.
The take out food section is also great for those want a cheaper choice of food for take out. Great in the summer as the street is closed for pedestrians and many resting and sit down places.

A small, tucked-away restaurant with a great vibe — you could tell everything was freshly made.
I wasn’t too hungry, so I ordered small portions just to sample a bit of everything.
The aroma and presentation of the food were amazing!
The person taking my order was attentive and got everything just right. The only thing I would have preferred is for the falafel to be served a bit hotter to bring out its full flavor, but overall, the food quality was excellent.
Prices are slightly higher compared to similar places, but the freshness and care in preparation make it feel worth it.

Tasty sandwich at an affordable price. Staff is nice and friendly, they will be happy to take their time and introduce the customers to their best selling sandwiches. The space will probably fit just 4-5 people for dine in so better to do take out.

An excellent spot with a wide variety of food and great service. The chicken was a bit too salty for my taste, but overall, the price-to-quality ratio is good.
This cafe holds a special place in our heart - it opened about 12 years ago, during our final year at the nearby Conservatoire, and it quickly became our go-to spot for daily lunches. A truly memorable place 😊

Best “quick” food in all of Montreal. Food is offered cafeteria style but it suffers no malaise of quality. Flavours are diverse and nuanced. Staff are kind and knowledgeable. Atmosphere is relaxed and conducive to both a quick bite or sitting and hanging for a while. They also sell their food for home preparation. This place rocks!
