Such an amazing brunch spot with absolutely HUGE portions. My family and I didn’t know what we were getting ourselves into when we ordered a dish each because they were MASSIVE, we couldn’t finish it all even though they all tasted amazing. I would definitely recommend to share a dish between 2 people if you are not big eaters. Even their drinks were large, they served the smoothies in a cup that’s equivalent to a bowl.
Also, their bathrooms are super fun and decorated.

Nice place, we went early during the week and there was no line up which is not the case on weekends. So if you want to experience the food here, come early during the week to avoid the long wait!
The service was excellent and the portions are generous as we did not finish our plates. Surprisingly the taste was still very good even if we reheated the food the next day… especially the poached egg, the yolk was still runny!
Worth the detour, a lot of choices on the menu. Not sure why there is such a big line up which is why it took us a long time before we could finally taste the food…? It is not cheap however the quality price ratio is very good, and you can request to take out your left over.

Definitely check out Shakshouka and French toasts – they're amazing! Plus, most of their dishes are great for sharing.
If they want to make their food even better, I'd recommend focusing on the fries. They were too greasy and not cooked well.

Amazing menu, there are so many selections to choose from. So many pancakes so many eggs.
Excellent coffee and hot chocolate.
Really enjoyed it.
Lemon ricotta pancakes was delicious.
The place is a bet cramped up and can get busy.

Great place to spend time with friends. If you are going on weekend there will be wait at least 1 hour to get pool table. Foosball is also available. Drinks are good and food is okay .
Music and vibe is good place is only two minutes from metro.

Nice place to hang out with friends on a Saturday night: have some drinks, play billiards, or watch a hockey game. It wasn't possible to reach anyone on the phone to make a reservation though, so it's better to come in earlier, not to wait for quite some time for a billiard table to be free. We came in at 7pm, got the table at 8ish and had to leave at around 10pm, as our total reservation time was over.
It would be nicer if there were a bit more space. It was pretty much crowded when we were there.
Don't expect a high-end service. The drinks wish a better quality; cocktails may not necessarily include the ingredients they actually should 😁. So, just pay attention to what they mix in together 😉. As for food, you can get some even after 10pm. The buffet works late.
The important thing is that it's impossible to find a parking spot on Saturday night near the place! Consider taking a metro or whatever works best for you.
Overall, it's a good place. Go, see & decide for yourself.

Place for nightly pool. Pool game is great. Time for waiting is decent. If you want to listen to nice music and play pool come here. If you want to get a drink skip it. My drink was watered down and when I asked to get more they couldn't pour me. Told me I had to pay extra. The bathroom is unisex but okay for a poop place. Over all it's good. For this reason I give a 4.
Aksinya Kostyrkina - 10 months ago
Cool vibe but requires a $20 cash deposit for renting a pool table which was not explained to us until we had already waited for a spot. They offered an ATM but I didn't bring a debit card. Very disappointing.

Went recently for lunch with a friend, got myself a Chicken Panko sandwich with about average expectations. I was completely blown away!! I can't think of another place that makes sandwiches as flat-out delicious and complex (in the best ways) as Kahwa Café. Very highly recommended.
Adrien K - a week ago
One of the best sandwiches I ever had in Montreal. Absolute recommendation when you're in the neighborhood. They freshly baked their sandwich bread and I mean put dough in the oven just for you when you order. It's crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and the sumac and spicy mayo on the fried chicken gives it a zingy middle-eastern flavor.
Their coffee was also lovely, nothing special but perfect for what I was looking for. And the ambience is interesting. Not 100% my style but I can see it's charm.
Also very, very friendly staff.
(Edit: I learned they're currently renovating, so that explains the curtains.)

We noticed a long line which is what caught our attention so we decided to have a quick sandwich there. There are a few places to sit inside however, it’s much nicer outside on the patio. What’s your order a sandwich inside you can pay they take your name and call your name once everything is ready. The lamb sandwich was absolutely delicious and so was the chicken Panko. It’s a pretty filling sandwich and there’s great value for the price. The brand is really cool almost like a kind of pita pocket that they cook on the spot as you can see from our videos and pictures. Great place, check it out

Tunisian tuna sandwich is a joy, what an incredible mix of spice, tuna, egg and salad. Their lamb sandwich is also great. I highly recommend also to try their lemonade, it is quite unique!

This place is easily one of the top sandwiches you can find on the Montreal island. The bread is always made fresh and there’s just so much flavour packed into the meats and sauces.
I’ll get a craving for Kahwa almost weekly and often come here to enjoy their sandwiches. Especially during the summer, you can enjoy it on the walkable street on Mont Royal without the loud noises of cars disrupting your meal.

Was intrigued by this Mediterranean restaurant & invited my friend to try this out. It was a really nice experience overall.
The menus are very generous & you get an abundance indeed. My friend chose grilled scrimps & I had grilled lamb. Spectacular !
It is a nice cosy place and great ambiance indeed. Aside from the parking which is at times hard to find, you will not be disappointed with this place. We also had artichokes as an entree which was nice as well. My friend was really happy about this restaurant & she highly enjoyed the atmosphere! Also you can byob as well.
Congratulations to the owner of this restaurant. They do their best to satisfy their clientele.

At first, nobody came to welcome us at the door for a good 20-30 minutes. The owner was nice and took his time to explain the menu. We didn’t have the best experience with the royal coucous. The merguez and lamb wasn’t too flavourful. We recommend trying the soup and beef briks.

I am so glad we chose this restaurant for a relaxing family lunch. The owner Noureddine was kind and welcoming. We enjoyed a large, filling meal with cucumber & tomato salad, assorted olives, pastilla au poule, vegetable soup, lamb tagine, kofta meatballs, couscous, chicken over rice, and then topped it off with tea, coffee & dates. Wow! Each dish was better than the last. All the meat was tender, the vegetables were fresh & well-cooked, and everything was seasoned perfectly. The environment is warm and relaxed. I wish we lived in the area so we could come again and again.

Good afternoon. I promised a review of this restaurant - and honestly, these are some of the best street tacos I've ever had in my life. I think - if you're in Montreal - these might be the closest street tacos you can get without visiting Mexico (the food is that good - and I say this as I live in the United States). I went to the restaurant on multiple days - and by day 3, the proprietors knew exactly what my order was going to be. Here's the great thing, too - the food is HEALTHY. It was not greasy - it is basically almost a completely gluten-free menu. The service is great - and the proprietors are friendly. Please make sure you spend your money here - you will not be disappointed.

Honestly, the best tacos I’ve had in Montreal !! 😍😍😍
The tortillas are always tasty and warm and the meat is always nicely cooked and sooo juicy !!🤤🤤
I love that they also give you 3 different types of salsas with increasing degree of spiciness!!🥵 so you can enjoy different flavours with all your tacos!!
I always get the Horchatas as well! I think it’s an amazing chaser for the bold and spicy flavours of the tacos! Plus it’s refreshing and a milky heaven !!:p
HIGHLY recommend the tacos pastor, suadero and chorizo !!☺️☺️
I will come back every time I cost Montreal!;)

Stumbled by this restaurant while walking in the plateau. Turns out it’s amazing. Friendly vibe, amazing waiter. Torta was absolutely delicious, and I like the sizing of the food. Since you can eat like 5 tacos you can pick a variety of them. We saw others having horchata and ordered some as well, was phenomenal. I have only good things to say

Found this little gem walking by the other night. Delicious Spanish food. The paella was a bit dry. But it's still very tasty. Had great wine selection. My friends and I were very pleased. The waiters are friendly and give an excellent experience. Atmosphere was chill, loved the decor and style.
Will definitely go back.

When I heard that the chef was from my hometown in Venezuela, I knew I had to visit; I traveled from Charlotte, NC, and came late Sunday afternoon. The food was excellent, and the place was fantastic. The quality of that grilled octopus was superb. And the socarrat on that paella was something that I'll talk about for years to come. Also, Gabriel was our waiter, and he exceeded our expectations. The whole experience was worth the entire trip to Montreal.

Laidback atmosphere, live jazz and a welcoming staff, makes Bily Kun my favourite bar. The taxidermied ostrich heads dotting the walls are an inspired touch to a room that must have been an old man's tavern in a different era. I was told that the heads come from an ostrich farm outside Montreal. Apparently, before Bily Kun first opened, a false ceiling hid the gorgeous mouldings that were only discovered during renovations.
Today, you'll find a selection of Czechoslovakian drinks on the menu, as the owner has an affinity for everything Czech. Actually, Bily Kun means "white horse" in Czechoslovakian and is the name of a bar in Czechoslovakia that the owner enjoyed. I heard he also owns the similarly named downtown bar called the Cheval Blanc.
Bily Kun makes a mean mixed drink, but if you're looking for something hard-core and traditionally Czech, try the chilled Slivovitz.

Not a fan of the mojitos, beer selection is great. Waiters are super nice, but they are so busy with so many people so the service may be slow. It is not the staffs fault, they do what they can, but just to get some napkins we waited like 15 minutes.

Easily accessible place located on the Mont Royal Av. steps away from the Mont Royal metro station.
The place is very small inside and can barely accommodate more than 6 people.
I expected better food as it wasn’t very delicious and unfortunately took a lot of time.
The place needs some cleaning and the staff should do better work dealing with customers.

These burritos were so so good! I had the seasoned chicken and my husband had the pastor burrito. You choose your toppings and then they wrap it up and heat it in the burrito press. They serve it with a side of tortilla chips topped with guacamole and sour cream.

Cute little French restaurant with a relaxing vibe. The entrees came with salad or soup, either was very good. Snail and mushroom were creamy and thick. Lamb shank was very tender, and the sauce was an excellent match. Most amazingly, you can bring your own wine because they don’t sell any.

The food was very good. We liked all the main dishes that we ordered, but the service was actually the down point. The waiter was unfriendly and cold. Each main dish includes a salad or soup, but without even asking, he just brought salads for the four of us. And when I asked if I should have a selection of soup, he replied because we arrived early so the soup was not ready. But I told him I can wait for the soup and he exchanged the salad for soup right away. When we told him my son was still working on his dish, he took the utensils away. The dessert were okay, not surprisingly good or bad, but they did make the meal more complete.

Came here on my birthday for a nice little brunch meal to start my day. I have to admit, based on the look of the food, I was expecting a mediocre meal, so good, but not great. However, the croissants taste awesome! And my sandwich (mushroom coleslaw) was out of this world! If I ever come back, I will definitely be dropping by again. For the owners, get that poor girl some help. She's way too busy for one person.

I loved this cute little place! On a quick trip to Montreal, my friend and I would come in here to charge our phones and connect to the wifi because we had no service 🤣
But the atmosphere was lively! The cashiers were so sweet and nice, especially the one with the unique eyebrows — so sweet 🫂
The cinnamon rolls are to die for! Also I had their matcha latte (not pictured) and espresso latte’s and they were chef’s kiss ♥️
I wish I could teleport back to Montreal for the cinnamon rolls at Café Tuyo!! They’re unbeatable and I’m still on the hunt for some as good as these here in the states lol!!

This might be my favorite cafe in Montreal! The sandwiches are delightfully delicious, and it may be the best chocolatine (pain au chocolat) in Montreal that I've had. The chocolatine flavor is incredible and the texture is delightfully flaky and chewy and rich. The people running the cafe are very friendly, and the space is very cute and cozy. Great place for breakfast, lunch, or coffee, and it'd be good for meeting a friend or for working for a bit.
(Plus, everything is vegan, which is important for me. Vegan croissants and vegan chocolatines? Yes please.)

Came back once again the next morning for breakfast and again for a quick bite and a takeout parcel for the journey back to Toronto.
Amazing vibes and great food.
The coffees are so aromatic and freshly brewed.
The food as always super fresh and tasty.
The service is awesome.
Pricing is very reasonable given the quality of produce used.
The breads pastries and desserts are all made in-house.
Lovely little vegan cafe close to St Denis
All vegan cafe with delicious croissants and a great collection of delectable desserts
