L’Avenue is an excellent breakfast spot in one of the city’s trendiest neighborhoods. The menu is packed with an incredible variety of unique and creative options, making it hard to choose… but whatever you order is likely to be delicious. I especially appreciated the “Indecisive” section of the menu, which offers fantastic combinations for those who can’t make up their mind. 🤔 The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the décor and music are all part of the experience. Even the famous disco ball bathroom adds a fun and memorable touch 🪩🕺🏻. The service was friendly and welcoming, but be prepared to wait a bit, as this place gets very busy. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a memorable brunch experience in Montreal. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Aaaaabsolutely incredible food- large portions for a decent price, different breakfast than your typical ‘eggs and toast’. Really, really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere- the outside seating is lovely. The ONLY downside is there is usually a wait, and the service can be slow (even though our waiter was absolutely wonderful!) it’s a busy place- so if you have 2 hours or so I’d say do it. If you’re looking for a ‘quick bite’ I’d pass!

I love everything about this place minus the wait time. Delicious food and really cool atmosphere. We waited an hour on a Sunday to be seated. Def go during the weekday for a shorter wait period. Would recommend the steak and eggs Benedict along with their Dubai stuffed French toast!

I'm officially retiring L'Avenue as one of my brunch spots. Maybe I'm just unlucky, because I see that others recent reviews are really good but after my last few visits, and especially after yesterday, I just can't justify eating there anymore. We were seated fairly quickly, but after that we waited quite a while before anyone came to take our order. I ordered a cappuccino along with our meals. While we were waiting for our drinks, I watched plate after plate of food sitting on the pass. Waiters and waitresses would walk up, look at the food, then walk away without taking it to the tables. That was my first indication that I'd made a mistake by coming back to L'Avenue. Watching perfectly good food sit on the pass getting cold while staff walked by it over and over again was incredibly frustrating. My cappuccino was honestly one of the worst I've had in a long time. It tasted like a regular coffee with milk with a pile of airy foam on top. No richness or texture. Then came the food. I ordered the "I'll Have It All." The first thing I noticed was the bagel. During a previous visit to L'Avenue, I was given rock-hard butter for my baguette, which is such a basic mistake because everyone knows you can't spread fridge-cold butter on toast. So this time I specifically asked for room-temperature butter. Instead, they buttered my toast for me... sort of. As you can see in the photo, only half the bagel has any butter on it. It sounds like a small thing, but brunch is made up of simple foods that are not difficult to make. But the difference between an average brunch and a great brunch is in the details, and those details were missing at L'Avenue yesterday. Then there were the "scrambled" eggs. It looked like someone poured beaten eggs onto the grill and forgot about them. They were dry, rubbery and badly overcooked. The breakfast also included one pancake and one French toast, and the French toast was just as disappointing. It looked deceivingly delicious. Perfectly golden on the outside but in the middle it was still basically just a dry piece of bread (a sign that the bread was not thoroughly soaked with the French toast batter). The meat was also dry and didn't seem fresh at all. I didn't eat most of it. In the end, the bill came to around $90 for two people. I happily spend that on brunch when the experience justifies it. But charging $90 for cold food, a poorly made cappuccino, a half-buttered bagel, dry overcooked eggs, dry meat and slow, disorganized service simply doesn't make sense. After my last three experiences at L'Avenue, I'm done. The only reason I've given multiple chances is because they used to be very good. But there are simply too many great brunch spots in Montreal to keep hoping this place improves.

Kahwa is ok ... their sandwiches are tasty, but not exquisite. The only special thing about this café is how the bread is freshly baked in front of you. In Arabic, "kahwa" means coffee, so maybe that's their specialty, but coffee is not a drink you have with a sandwich, so I didn't try it. Plus, two thirds of the store space is dedicated to sandwiches, so it doesn't give you the impression that you must try their coffee. Either way, it's a good spot to try in Montréal, I just didn't understand the hype.

We came for their poulet panko for the second time and it truly did not dissapoint. Their sandwiches are made of a homemade freshly baked light bread, stuffed with generous portions of your meat of choice. In my opinion, their sandwhiches are so big, it can even feed two, which is why she shared ours and even received ours cut in two halves (a thoughtful detail). I recommend their signature Poulet Panko since the chicken is dark meat, its tender and crispy, their kahwa sauce reminds me of chipotle and the cucumbers and onions compliment everything so well. I found the service straightforward and short. Customer service is bare minimum. The lady at the counter just like we remembered from last time is kind of an intimidating person around customers yet more smiley around her peers. Nevertheless, she still carries a professional front. The tables further back are small and crowded but people are still respectful of each other's space. As for the bathroom, the toilet is elevated and the door is unique to shut, I was paranoid for the small slit as the door doesnt close completely. The kitchen floor was messy. Music was also loud while ordering. Anyway, we only came for the food and were content with that.

Kahwa was amazing! I had the L’Italiane, and my friend ordered the Poulet Panko. I’d 100% recommend the Poulet Panko it was incredible. Honestly, everything was so good. The bread was super fresh, clearly made in house, and it really stood out. It’s not a huge place, so it’s not ideal for big groups, but you can easily place your order and wait outside for takeout or grab a seat if there’s space. Definitely worth it for the quality fresh bread and really flavorful chicken.

Last time I came here I saw a lineup so I gave up, this time around I finally get to try this famous sandwich, and I was not disappointed! I think that the lineup is justified since the price is very reasonable for the quality of the food, it’s simple but very tasty, I took the kebab sandwich to go and it was well wrapped, I love the sauce they use (the Kahwa sauce). The interior of the cafe is so-so, but quite a lot of people seem to enjoy their time here. Recommended.

My friend really suggested that I try this place, as their chicken sandwich was out of this world. The sign in front even claims it is LEGENDARY... *I'll be the judge of that* Well, we sat down in the park right in front of the restaurant to chow down and let me tell you, it really was a great freakin' sandwich. 10/10, did not disappoint. The beef one is tasty, but doesn't hit like the chicken. The homemade Merguez sandwich is also worth a try. The bread is amazing, they bake it fresh for each order. You should try this place, at least!

Neighborhood is packed, hard to find parking but owner have area to park but its located a block from the restaurant. One of his staff accompanied us to the parking. Food are delicious however you can tell that it was cooked in advance and its no longer fresh compared to a newly cooked food. Place is old and needs improvement. This place has a potential but need to improve things that I had mentioned. But I found the owner is kind hearted person, we've got a chance to chat with him for awhile because the place was not busy ... but I can see people order for take out delivery.

A lovely Mediterranean and North African restaurant in the heart of Montreal. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, the food portions are excellent, and everything tastes fresh. The place is a bit small, but it feels cozy and quiet. Highly recommended.

Super nice staff that cares about their food and your experience. Don’t hate them if they are busy, it isn’t their fault they are so good. May as well have an extra drink while you wait. The service was amazing. Super nice and attentive. Loved the ambiance, the music… On the other hand, the beef had a lot of pieces of fat, like more than half the meat in my tacos :( (I had 3, and all had a lot of pieces of fat in them) Not too sure if it’s custom in this type of cuisine, but I haven’t had this many pieces in any other restaurant that served the same dish. As for the other two, missing flavor, but texture was good!! Probably would not return, but for people who don’t mind pieces of fat, worth trying 😊

What an absolute delight! From the incredible Pescado y Mariscos (seriously, one of the best Seafood Paellas we've had!) to the flavorful Pulpo Asado, our taste buds were in heaven. Even the Patatas Bravas, though a little dry, were super tasty. While the Gilda Vasca and Basque Cheesecake weren't standouts, they were still good, and the overall value for money is fantastic. If you're in Montreal and craving authentic Spanish Tapas, this spot is a must-try – especially for their Paella and Octopus!

Is you are looking and appreciate a real Spanish Food experience then you need to visit Ibericos. By far the best Paella in Montreal. But that is not the only good stuff you will find there. As a tapas place you will have the chance to try different things that will make you travel into the Mediterranean. Their service is impeccable and always willing to explain you the menu. The freshness of their food is incredible, either you like a Veggie menu or All-In :-). If so don't miss the opportunity of trying a good Jamon Iberico (spoiler alert: Don't call it Prosciutto!!!) For your first experience you can try the tasting menu, it will give you the opportunity to try different aspects of the menu and for sure you will like to return ;-)

Everything we tried was honestly so good. The Charcutería Mixta with Spanish cured meats, cheeses, and tomato bread was packed with flavor. The berenjenas fritas and grilled octopus were definite highlights; both top notch. And the patatas bravas had just the right kick. The Sangria Blanca was also great and paired really well with everything.

I went to about five different bars during my weekend visit to Montreal. This one was, by far, the friendliest in terms of the vibe from staff and other patrons. I highly recommend going here if you're in the Plateau area.

I've visited Arriba Burrito Express a few times, and I can say I've had a great experience. As a vegetarian, I ordered the chili burrito and tacos. The spice level is just right, they always add plenty of ingredients, and the food comes hot and satisfying. The atmosphere is also great for hanging out with friends and enjoying an afternoon. Now in the summer, they have outdoor seating and music. I recommend this place not only to vegetarians but also to anyone else, the food is not only delicious but also a great portion for the price.

One of my favourite Mexican places in Montreal. It was semi-open, semi-closed for a while, and I never knew if it would be available. I see that this summer they did a big renovation and have made it into a small, fancy restaurant and increased the prices accordingly. The food is even better than before, I think, and I would highly recommend it. I went during the lunch rush, and it was pretty slow service though, FYI.

AMAZING place!! They have everything that most big Asian supermarkets have, and it’s all fresh! Very nice and clean place, and they even have meals, like sushi (hence the name), onigiri, Poké, fried dumplings, and more! Also, the Sushi is the BEST sushi I’ve ever had! Especially the Inari and the sweet potato! Very fresh! The onigiri is also amazing! Highly recommend!!

Hidden gem filled with Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese and Japanese products. There are many cute snacks as well as there are sauces and noodles. I haven’t tried their prepared meals or anything from their store menu but the items for sale are intricate and delicious . This store is a much needed addition to Avenue Mount-Royal! Update: I tried their sushi and it felt off… not in a way that I think I’m gonna get sick but it was just not flavourful like regular sushi. The onigiris are good tho.

It's THE spot to go at if you're looking for snacks , onigiris, sushis, drinks, sauces, curry powder, instant ramen, pokebowl and so much more !! I've found a lot of my childhood snacks back when my grandma used to buy me candies and it bring back memories (*´ω｀) I end up buying a box of sushi along with 2 calpico drinks and it taste very fresh and yummy 😋 I've been visited this place several times now and to my every visit I absolutely enjoy looking at the food they have available and the varieties is huge!! 💖💖💖

I was looking forward to trying their sushi Tokyo, cause they looked so fresh and flavourful on their customers’ pictures. I didn’t expect anything amazing, but this was just terrible. Both my boyfriend and I ordered different sushi types and they were all bland, dry and flavourless. The tuna wasn’t the bright red that I expected in the pictures, it was almost a colourless light brown/pink… same for much of the other fish. The snack options are good, prices are decent for those. As for the sushi, not worth the price. About the same as a restaurant which I’d rather go to.

It was just ok minus. Hummus was fresh but bland with no olive oil or spices. The minimum possible. The veggie mussaka was also bland almost tastless. Healthy food. The pitas were nice and fresh and so was the salad. Place needs a makeover.

I’ve been walking by this place for yearss, I’ve picked up things in their fridge to bring to potlucks and gathering, always super satisfied. Today I grabbed lunch on the go for the first time. I got their chicken sandwich for 9+ tx. It was sooo good honestly, generous on everything. They understand that you can’t skimp on ingredients or quality or else people simply won’t come back. So yes, I will be back!! Staff was super friendly too.

It was a rainy October afternoon when I decided to stop by Trip de Bouffe to grab a quick lunch. Usually when I walk by, the place has a lineup to the door, but likely due to the weather - and my late lunch - the restaurant had a calm energy I’ve rarely seen there. Inside, there’s a small seating area by the window flanked by walls covered with art and local event fliers. Towards the counter are shelves stacked with Lebanese snacks and desserts along with fridges filled with ready to eat meals and Lebanese cheeses. I scanned the extensive menu and ordered a Poulet Regulier: marinated chicken with cheese rolled into a soft pita with pickled turnip, tomato, onion, olive, labneh and mint. I only realized afterwards that adding all these toppings is an extra $2.50 (+$1 for the labneh) - which turned my $9 pita into $14. A fair price but more than I planned to spend on lunch. The pita was delicious and the addition of the mint was a clever way to add sweetness while the Labneh (soft cheese) added creaminess to the mix. I do wish there was a bit more chicken but as a whole it was quite substantial. The atmosphere here really shines in the summer, when avenue mont-royal is pedestrian and you can enjoy your meal on their outdoor set up of tables and chairs.

Tasty sandwich at an affordable price. Staff is nice and friendly, they will be happy to take their time and introduce the customers to their best selling sandwiches. The space will probably fit just 4-5 people for dine in so better to do take out.

Delicious food! You can share your side dishes, the atmosphere is warm, the servers were very accommodating of our large group of 20 people. We had only booked for 12 but more came and they were very pleasant and friendly. Had a blast and the food is amazing!!! Everyone loved the food. Definitely on my saved list of MTL restaurants. Varied Greek dishes you wouldn't find at other restaurants. Tried the tasty and filling lamb moussaka. The free appetizer of meat balls and olives was very good too.

Delicious Greek food! All the dishes were great. Really fresh! Nice ambiance and very charismatic staff. My favourite item was the moules saganaki along side the grilled octopus. Overall great food, definitely recommend if you’re looking for some good Greek food with an enjoyable ambiance.
