Absolutely beautiful hotel with a true boutique experience. The hotel is incredibly clean, updated and stylish. The staff is professional and offered exceptional service. The classic queen room I stayed in was so comfortable and I felt relaxed the entire stay. The bedding was perfect, and the windows almost completely soundproof. I’m a light sleeper and am easily awakened by noise (especially from cars). I didn’t have that issue at Le Germain. The location is PERFECT. It’s a quick walk to 2 metro stations and the trails of Mont Royal.
Also, random, but the shampoo and soap they provide are absolutely amazing. I have sensitive skin and usually can’t use hotel toiletries, but whatever brand they’re using is super high quality. It also smells sooooo good I wish I had bought some to take home. I’d stay here again and again.

It's a beautiful hotel, inside and out. The colourful exterior was a pleasant surprise. Inside, it is elegant, but still comfortable. Dinner and breakfast at the restaurant were very memorable, and worth repeating soon. The scallops and the dessert were next level awesome! Amazing luxury bedding that I have now put on my Christmas list! I felt taken care of and special staying here. I love the little touches like the honey and the chocolates. Cool wallpaper in the bathroom as well.

Great location — but what really sets this place apart is the atmosphere. It manages to blend cozy comfort with a luxury feel, which is surprisingly rare. You get that warm, intimate vibe, but with high-end details that still make it feel special and upscale.
The hotel is extremely clean. Not just “fine,” but genuinely spotless and well cared for. Rooms, linens, bathrooms, hallways — everything felt fresh, tidy, and thoughtfully maintained. Huge plus if you notice these things like we do.
Check-in was fast and easy. No long waits, no confusion — efficient and smooth from start to finish. Staff clearly know what they’re doing, and it shows.
Perfect for a couple’s weekend. If you're looking for somewhere stylish, clean, romantic, and stress-free, this is a great pick. We honestly left impressed. Would definitely come back!

The rooms are tight, even to open the door! And what is up with the window from the shower to the bed? If I wanted my party to see me shower, I would have showered outside! Dumb. I didnt sign up for that feture. The bed was comfy and the pillows were very soft. Just like i like them. Vallet service was very on top of their game. Worth every cent I tipped them. The hotel itself is in a quiet location. So that's a plus as well

I loved this place and it's atmosphere. Warm and welcome. Ahmed is my waiter and he should promote to be the manager. Great energy and great customer service. The breakfast is insane and it's an art but delicious.

We are visiting from Texas and were pleasantly surprised that we were able to walk in and sit right down. Everything turned out just as good as it looks and the level of service wastop notch. Couldn't think of a better breakfast place in downtown Montreal. We also can’t say enough great things about our waiter, Ranjan!

Dunn’s Caesar with Smoked Meat Egg Roll and Pickle – The drink itself was pretty good but the smoked meat egg roll was the real star. It was absolutely delicious!
Super Combo Smoked Meat with Latkes – The latkes were hands down the best a definite must-try! Smoked meat was melt in your mouth! (Order medium not lean)
Le Petit Combo with House Salad – Don't let the name fool you—the "mini" sandwich was anything but mini! It was generous, delicious, and paired perfectly with the tasty coleslaw and fresh house salad.
Top it off with a piece of strawberry cheesecake! Chefs kiss!
The service was outstanding, and the staff were incredibly attentive & welcoming.

Definitely a must visit for some local food and the history of the place.
Had the famous smoked meat sandwich and Italian poutine. Smoked meat was juicy and soft, good light spicing, served with a tangy pickle and super tangy coleslaw which I think cut through the meatiness really nicely.
Couldn’t not try their famous strawberry cheesecake made on site, a nice tangy cheesecake with great creamy and fluffy texture, strawberry adds a nice fruitiness to it, however it was lacking much of a base… if it had more of one I would’ve rated it outstanding!
Lovely service, attentive and polite team.

Absolutely amazing experience. The smoked meat was incredibly flavorful, tender, and perfectly seasoned, definitely one of the best I’ve had. The potato skins were crispy, loaded, and so satisfying, and the egg rolls were fresh, crunchy, and packed with flavor. Everything came out hot and delicious. Great food, generous portions, and a place I would happily come back to again. Highly recommend!

I used to go to Dunn’s on St. Catherine Street in the 80s. I went to Montreal for a week of joie de vivre. I had to go for my smoked meat fix. I ordered the mini combo (small smoked sandwich, fries and a big pickle). They have their own cherry cola. The smoked meat was dry (I asked for medium) and the actual sandwich was very small. I had a fantastic server Rebecca who was fast, efficient and very personable. The music was 70s tunes. I was very happy to be there. I bought a frozen box of smoked meal to take home for my family. I’d go back just for the vibe. Their menu is very big with many options.

First visit to Montreal. Perfect spot for late night food! The burgers were absolutely delicious fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right. The drink was easily one of the best I’ve had since visiting different places across Canada so far. On top of that, the customer service was excellent, friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place I’d come back to!

We recently had a positive experience at Sho Dan Sushi in Montreal. After a day of Browse the fantastic boutiques and shops nearby, it was the perfect place to unwind and grab a bite. The sushi was fresh, with a beautiful, clean flavor, and the staff were very friendly, which made the whole experience even better. It’s a great spot for anyone looking for delicious, high-quality sushi and excellent service, especially when you’re in the mood for a shopping break.

Swanky sushi place with upscale ambiance and attentive wait staff. The two specialty rolls we had (Adam and Black Dragon) were exceptional and creative. However, the edamame was overcooked and the non-specialty rolls were bland tasting, though beautiful looking. Stick to the specialty rolls and you'll have an exceptional meal!

I dined solo on a Monday night. It was busy. The vibe was energetic and the service appropriate for this type of restaurant and considering the number of guests. I wasn’t impressed by the sardines as I thought I would be. The bouillabaisse was excellent: fresh ingredients, well balanced broth and hot, as I like it. The portion was just right. I would eat it again. Providing fresh bread would match the quality of the dish.
A lot of options in Montreal for the price point (110 for the sardine, bouillabaisse and a glass of wine).

I have been many times over the last 16 years and have been blown away with the quality of the food, exceptional service and experience each time. 100% recommend! From their mainstays like the blackened cod, the octopus, their fresh fish and seafood selection is always impeccable.
Carlos has also been importing his wines and olive oil so you can enjoy them at the restaurant and also buy the amazing olive oil to take home… We go through litres a year.
If you’re visiting Montreal this is a must on your list (reservations strongly recommended) they are busy year round.

Ferreira Café – A Truly Exceptional Portuguese Dining Experience
My visit to Ferreira Café was nothing short of extraordinary. Their cuisine is truly amazing, showcasing a perfect blend of creativity, quality, and authentic Portuguese flavors. From start to finish, every dish felt like a carefully crafted work of art.
We began with their signature appetizer, the Crispy Octopus and the Seafood Platter and both were spectacular. The presentation was beautiful, and each bite was well-balanced and full of flavor. It set the tone for what became an unforgettable dining experience.
The main courses were just as impressive. The “Fresh Catch from the Market and Portugal” lived up to its name: fresh, soft, and rich in flavor. The Fish and Seafood Bouillabaisse and the Lagareiro Octopus were incredibly savory and deeply satisfying. And the Tomahawk? An absolute masterpiece, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. It was truly one of the highlights of the night.
The cocktails were equally impressive. The Negroni, Filthy Martini, and Gaia were crafted with precision and tasted like works of art in a glass. The sommelier's champagne and wine recommendations were spot-on, and we thoroughly enjoyed every selection he made.
With great ambiance, friendly staff, and outstanding service, Ferreira Café delivered a memorable dining experience from beginning to end. As my first time enjoying Portuguese cuisine, I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction. This restaurant is truly worth visiting.

Best Portuguese restaurant in Montreal!!!!
I had such an amazing experience here. My friend and I visited Montreal during weekends and we chose this restaurant to try first, and we were so impressed by how nice staffs were, how good the foods were, and terrific service!!
The food was flawless with perfect balance. We reserved a bar but asked to change it to a main table if possible. They helped us secure the table and even offered a glass of wine for free while waiting.
I visit Montreal at least once a month and this will be my next go-to restaurant.
I appreciate how generous you guys are. And wonderful chefs !!
The ingredients are so fresh and fine.
Gaheul Yi (Kaily) - 3 months ago
The food was good; however, the service was disappointing.
From the start, the waiter’s behaviour was unprofessional. While I was placing our order, he walked away to serve another table and later seemed uncomfortable when we said we did not want any starters.
When my brother’s sea bass was served, we were not asked whether we would like the head and tail removed. This was surprising, as a neighbouring table received the same dish properly prepared by another waiter.
The situation became more awkward when the bill arrived. I chose not to add a tip, but the waiter insisted that the minimum was 15% and selected it himself on the card machine without my consent.
I normally have no issue tipping and respect hospitality staff, but on this occasion the service and attitude significantly detracted from the experience.

After some serious shopping downtown, we stopped by Reuben's Deli & Steak on St. Catherine's (not too be confused with the other Reuben's on St. Catherine's a few blocks away. This one actually has a steakhouse vibe to it with the decor.
We ordered the Rated PG ($14) with passion fruit purée, lime, and rooibos tea as well as the Nojito ($14) with strawberry, lime, 7up, and mint.
For our meals, we had the Reuben's Chop-Chop Poutine ($22) and The Mediterranean Salad ($29) with chicken. Both dishes were quite large and we didn't finish. The poutine was in a large bowl and perfectly crispy fries. There wasn't a huge amount of gravy and most of it fell to the bottom of the bowl, but this kept the fries crisp instead of soggy. I did like the chopped up meats in the dish and it worked well if you mixed up the bowl to get the gravy on the bottom. If you like a super wet poutine, this isn't it.
Service was pretty good, friendly server. It was too bad they were still doing the construction on St. Catherine's out in front of the building. Wish we had enough room to try their cheesecakes.

Delicious food and good ambiance in the downtown location. I really enjoyed the smoke meat sandwich, Montréal classic. The service was outstanding in French and English, the staff was very cordial and warming. I enjoyed my time there. If you are downtown Montréal, do not hesitate to stop by. I really recommend this place.
Cannot wait to go again soon.

A Classic Montreal Deli Experience Frozen in Time
I finally visited Ruben’s Deli & Steakhouse, an iconic downtown Montreal staple that somehow I had never tried despite living here practically my whole life. Walking in, you immediately feel transported back in time — the décor, the counters, the diner‑style seating, even the waiters’ uniforms all preserve that old‑school charm. It genuinely feels like the place has stayed true to its roots for decades.
That said, the vintage aesthetic does come with some wear. Our diner‑style seats were noticeably ripped — something I hope gets refreshed from time to time, especially considering how busy this place always is. Still, it adds to that “classic diner” authenticity that many tourists come looking for.
🍽️ Food
The menu is extensive, with a strong focus on deli classics and hearty meats. I went with the burger. It was good — tasty, satisfying, but not particularly memorable. The fries were also fine, very much in line with what you’d expect from a traditional diner. In that sense, Ruben’s delivers exactly what it promises: classic comfort food, nothing reinvented, nothing overly elevated.
They also have a large dessert selection, though we were too full to explore it this time.
🌟 Service & Atmosphere
The service was excellent — classy, attentive, and respectful. You can tell the staff take pride in maintaining a certain standard. The restaurant is right in the center of the action, so expect it to be very busy at lunchtime. It’s a mix of locals, office workers, and plenty of tourists, which gives the place a lively, bustling energy.
💸 Value
Prices are moderate and fair for the location and the type of establishment. You’re paying for the experience as much as the meal, and in that sense, it’s worth it.
---
Bottom line: Ruben’s is a quintessential Montreal deli experience — nostalgic, bustling, and reliable. The food is decent, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is part of the charm. I’d return if I’m in the area and craving a classic diner‑style meal.

Reubens IS THE PLATINUM standard for Food and Hospitality.
Today, Wifey and I indulged on the amazing super delicious montreal smoked meat big bang, perfectly constructed smoked meat poutine and luscious strawberry cheesecake.
Our entire fresh meal was made in-house.
The service from Sam our Server and Bartender-Extraordinaire warmed our hearts. Sam's charm is matched by his highly skilled mixology. The Habs-inspired, exquisite Habarita tequila cocktail scored big time (Wife's new fave).
Every meal at Reubens is the #1 highlight of our annual visit to Montreal.
Once again, our bellies are full and our taste buds in bliss.
Sorry: I forgot to take a Pic of the scrumptious, velvety smooth cheesecake. We devoured this slice of heaven and a photo was an after thought.

I’ve been going here for over 30 years. It was my favourite Indian restaurant until last year when the naan bread became too thin (3-4 mm), rubbery, difficult to chew and didn’t absorb the sauces. I’ve complained multiple times but the administration denies everything despite my attempt to give them constructive feedback. The same issue is found at their Royalmount restaurant. Sad!

I had lunch buffet here, on October 19th 2025. Lunch buffet was good and tasty, but for vegetarian it need atleast one option of paneer every time as its there best source of protein also its best and lucrative alternative. As, per non vegetarian its worth the money which was 30$ plus tax. They had fresh naan but I would recommend that they should put tandoori roti as option too becz, some people dont like naan and hVe digestion problems. Also, there gulab jamun was must try.

Went for brunch with a few friends and all the dishes we tried were really good. The portions were also very generous which we loved, worth the price.
We got the fried chicken with waffle, shakshuka, French toast, and the scrambled egg plate. The scrambled eggs were creamy and potatoes were nicely roasted and seasoned. French toast tasted exactly like it should have. Shakshuka was flavorful. Again creamy. The waffle was well made and the chicken was extremely juicy.

My wife and I went here for dinner on our Montreal trip. It was close to our hotel and since it had really good ratings, my wife was eager to try out this restaurant, especially their bad girl sea food pasta. Unfortunately, she was somewhat disappointed. Although she did have very high expectations.
To begin with, the flavor was just okay. The seafood was a bit overcooked, the shrimp was overseasoned and one of the three clams she received was empty (you can see it in the picture). For a $49CAD pasta dish, she was expecting something a bit more. But it was sea food, so 🤷
On the other hand, I ordered the lasagna. It was great! I liked it a lot! It was very crunchy on the outside and had a good amount of cheese. I only wish it came with a little bit more sauce because that was also delicious l. My wife and I shared my plate. And I helped her finish hers. If you are hoping to get some good food that would make your day from this restaurant, I would recommend not to order the sea food pasta. Overall the food was fine, however for the price we paid we were expecting a bit more.

Came for some drinks and food post concert and we were welcomed by the bisexual lighting inside deville dinerbar (my ideal lighting). The ambiance was a vibe though and despite my lighting comment, it was a more straight crowd. The servers were great and very attentive! Helped us pick drinks with great knowledge behind each one she was talking about. I do wish they had cider since I’m less of a beer fan but if you’re into beer, there’s a new one seemingly every week! the food was delish though my Cesar salad felt unfinished since it was leaves of lettuce with toppings which made me feel like a grass feeding animal when eating it. Flavour was great though! the steak sandwich was cooked to perfection and very flavourful. The fries were quite skinny so they lose heat fast, so eat those first to avoid cold fries if you have them! Overall I feel like it was a good experience but I’m not sure I’ll come back soon as it was quite pricy for what it is.

Stylish brunch, with fun showy food. We had stuffed french toast and the chimichurri steak avocado. The steak was spicy and perfectly cooked. The french toast was delicious though a tad sweet and I wish the dark amber taste of the syrup wasnt so overwhelmed by everything else.
The sports were fun to watch on the tvs. A little dissapointed that the super comfy booths were all taken already. You see them on the way in and then once inside you realize you have to sit at a tiny bar table.
The prices were just too high.
I see this comment a lot in restaurant reviews but this time its legitimately true. Almost $100 and we barely ate or drank anything.

The food was quite disappointing overall. The French fries had a very strong smell of oil, similar to old or burnt oil, and the taste was unpleasant. The fruits seemed stale and not fresh. While the staff were polite and well-behaved, the atmosphere was not calm or comfortable enough for enjoying breakfast. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not meet expectations

Absolutely phenomenal, I cannot recommend this place enough. I ordered the Universel Breakfast and it was one of the best meals I have ever had - everything was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. Had a really nice time here. The place is super cozy and feels very warm. Service was quick and polite, we didn't have to wait long for food at all. I loved my pizza (yum!), and even though my husband thought his was just okay, we both enjoyed the meal. Good option for a quiet, casual dinner.

Near one of Montreal’s main avenues, you’ll find this small Sicilian restaurant. I enjoyed a plate of spaghetti alle vongole, which was very flavourful and well prepared. I finished the meal with a glass of Frangelico over ice. Overall, a lovely experience with attentive service and a relaxed, pleasant atmosphere.

Absolutely love it here, it’s the most cozy and sweet restaurant in downtown Montreal. The music and ambience make you feel like you’re in a little Italian cafe. The pasta is delicious and made with fresh ingredients. The pizza was slightly hard, but still delightful! Wonderful service and atmosphere, we love coming here!

It is a small Sicilian restaurant in downtown Montreal. I was pleasantly surprised by how flavourful the food was and how friendly the service was. It was a warm, welcoming place where I could enjoy a good meal, warm up, and spend a very pleasant time.

The restaurant was warm and cozy except whenever the outside door was opened. I looked forward to the authentic pizza oven 🍕. Ordered a Caesar salad to start and was surprised by the fake bacon bits and tiny store bought croutons. Lettuce was fresh though. The chef's pizza was good although missing the sausage that was advertised. Service was efficient but not friendly.
