Great location — but what really sets this place apart is the atmosphere. It manages to blend cozy comfort with a luxury feel, which is surprisingly rare. You get that warm, intimate vibe, but with high-end details that still make it feel special and upscale.
The hotel is extremely clean. Not just “fine,” but genuinely spotless and well cared for. Rooms, linens, bathrooms, hallways — everything felt fresh, tidy, and thoughtfully maintained. Huge plus if you notice these things like we do.
Check-in was fast and easy. No long waits, no confusion — efficient and smooth from start to finish. Staff clearly know what they’re doing, and it shows.
Perfect for a couple’s weekend. If you're looking for somewhere stylish, clean, romantic, and stress-free, this is a great pick. We honestly left impressed. Would definitely come back!

Absolutely beautiful hotel with a true boutique experience. The hotel is incredibly clean, updated and stylish. The staff is professional and offered exceptional service. The classic queen room I stayed in was so comfortable and I felt relaxed the entire stay. The bedding was perfect, and the windows almost completely soundproof. I’m a light sleeper and am easily awakened by noise (especially from cars). I didn’t have that issue at Le Germain. The location is PERFECT. It’s a quick walk to 2 metro stations and the trails of Mont Royal.
Also, random, but the shampoo and soap they provide are absolutely amazing. I have sensitive skin and usually can’t use hotel toiletries, but whatever brand they’re using is super high quality. It also smells sooooo good I wish I had bought some to take home. I’d stay here again and again.

It's a beautiful hotel, inside and out. The colourful exterior was a pleasant surprise. Inside, it is elegant, but still comfortable. Dinner and breakfast at the restaurant were very memorable, and worth repeating soon. The scallops and the dessert were next level awesome! Amazing luxury bedding that I have now put on my Christmas list! I felt taken care of and special staying here. I love the little touches like the honey and the chocolates. Cool wallpaper in the bathroom as well.

The rooms are tight, even to open the door! And what is up with the window from the shower to the bed? If I wanted my party to see me shower, I would have showered outside! Dumb. I didnt sign up for that feture. The bed was comfy and the pillows were very soft. Just like i like them. Vallet service was very on top of their game. Worth every cent I tipped them. The hotel itself is in a quiet location. So that's a plus as well

Hôtel Le Germain Montréal has always been our default hotel for business trips, and honestly, that’s its saving grace. The location is fantastic—super easy to get to, and you can access everything downtown quickly. The service is always nice, and the staff are generally great.
However, my stay from Oct 20-22 was a real disappointment, and if it was a personal trip, I'd be looking elsewhere, sorry!
The Room Was TINY: I've stayed here before and had normal rooms. This last one was ridiculously small. The entrance doorway was so tight it felt like I was squeezing in and the door will almost hit the bathroom wall.
Major Stench in the Bathroom: This was the worst part. The little room with the toilet smelled absolutely foul. We tried everything—spraying perfume, opening the door—but the stink just overpowered it. I'm pretty sure the exhaust fan was totally broken because the smell never cleared. That’s a huge issue for cleanliness.
Fishy Lobby? Even the main lobby had a weird, almost fishy smell to it. It was pretty off-putting right when you walk in.
I hope management sees this because the hotel's location is perfect for business, but the room quality and the smell issues on this recent visit were a huge letdown. If the hotel wasn't so convenient for work, I wouldn't book it again.

What a lovely staff and food. From our hostess Sahar, who was extremely pleasant and friendly to our very professional server. The food was fresh, delicious and exactly as asked. I have been to other locations, but I think this one was by far the best of them all.

Today we had breakfast here for the first time and we were absolutely delighted! Everything was fresh, the portions were large, and the taste was just incredible 😍 The atmosphere is very cozy, with a beautiful vintage interior — it feels really special. I also want to mention the staff — very friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend!

I loved this place and it's atmosphere. Warm and welcome. Ahmed is my waiter and he should promote to be the manager. Great energy and great customer service. The breakfast is insane and it's an art but delicious.

We are visiting from Texas and were pleasantly surprised that we were able to walk in and sit right down. Everything turned out just as good as it looks and the level of service wastop notch. Couldn't think of a better breakfast place in downtown Montreal. We also can’t say enough great things about our waiter, Ranjan!

Definitely a must visit for some local food and the history of the place.
Had the famous smoked meat sandwich and Italian poutine. Smoked meat was juicy and soft, good light spicing, served with a tangy pickle and super tangy coleslaw which I think cut through the meatiness really nicely.
Couldn’t not try their famous strawberry cheesecake made on site, a nice tangy cheesecake with great creamy and fluffy texture, strawberry adds a nice fruitiness to it, however it was lacking much of a base… if it had more of one I would’ve rated it outstanding!
Lovely service, attentive and polite team.

Went for lunch the other day, specifically to get smoked meat sandwiches. We wanted to see how Dunn's stacks up against some of the other Montreal smoked meat heavyweights.
I got the 'medium' fat and it was delicious. The meat was super tender, juicy, and had great flavor. We were at another place recently, starts with an "S" and in my opinion, this sandwich at Dunn's is slightly better.
Service was great, and our food arrived quickly. The fact that you can get a beer here is a big plus, too!
Bathrooms are freezing cold, as is the water from the sink - like ice! Parking is not easy in the area but you might get lucky on the street.
Excellent smoked meat, good value.

Came here for dinner with my wife and we both went straight for the famous smoked meat sandwiches; best decision ever. The meat is unreal: so tender it literally melts in your mouth, with that perfect savory smoky punch and little pockets of sweet fat that make every bite heavenly. Seriously, I’ve never had smoked meat this good anywhere else in the city. Service was fast, friendly, and super efficient even though the place was busy. Fresh rye, great mustard, huge portions, and worth every penny. If you’re craving Montreal smoked meat, this is the spot. Already counting down the days until we come back!

Went here for a late night meal. I was surprised to see they are open until 5am. I ordered Dunn's Burger and Italian Poutine, as well as a Sundae for dessert. I have to say... this was easily one of my best late night meals in a long time! Very pleased with the food and the atmosphere. I will be back.

Classic Montreal smoked meat as you’d expect. Tasted good. One of the top smoked meat places in the city. Quick service, our group of 12 were out before 1pm on a weekday.
Small issue with their own black cherry coke. Tasted watered down, despite the high sugar. Keep working that recipe.

We recently had a positive experience at Sho Dan Sushi in Montreal. After a day of Browse the fantastic boutiques and shops nearby, it was the perfect place to unwind and grab a bite. The sushi was fresh, with a beautiful, clean flavor, and the staff were very friendly, which made the whole experience even better. It’s a great spot for anyone looking for delicious, high-quality sushi and excellent service, especially when you’re in the mood for a shopping break.

Swanky sushi place with upscale ambiance and attentive wait staff. The two specialty rolls we had (Adam and Black Dragon) were exceptional and creative. However, the edamame was overcooked and the non-specialty rolls were bland tasting, though beautiful looking. Stick to the specialty rolls and you'll have an exceptional meal!

This was fantastic. The quality and craftsmanship of everything we had was over the top. The least amazing dish was the gyoza, which was still good.

Delightful sushi, amazingly fresh fish, original flavours and textures— definitely some of the best sushi in the city. Yes the price is steep, but it is reflected in the quality and quantity of the fish, beautiful presentation, and great service.

Best Portuguese restaurant in Montreal!!!!
I had such an amazing experience here. My friend and I visited Montreal during weekends and we chose this restaurant to try first, and we were so impressed by how nice staffs were, how good the foods were, and terrific service!!
The food was flawless with perfect balance. We reserved a bar but asked to change it to a main table if possible. They helped us secure the table and even offered a glass of wine for free while waiting.
I visit Montreal at least once a month and this will be my next go-to restaurant.
I appreciate how generous you guys are. And wonderful chefs !!
The ingredients are so fresh and fine.

Ferreira Café is an exceptional dining experience that beautifully blends elegance with warmth. From the moment I arrived, the service was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and professional without ever feeling intrusive. The staff made sure every detail was perfect, enhancing the overall experience. I ordered the ceviche and the octopus, and both dishes were prepared to absolute perfection. The ceviche was fresh, vibrant, and bursting with flavor, while the octopus was tender, expertly grilled, and beautifully presented. Each bite reflected the chef’s skill and dedication to quality ingredients. The atmosphere of the restaurant added to the experience—sophisticated yet comfortable, ideal for both casual and special occasions. Ferreira Café truly delivers on every level, from service to cuisine. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable meal in a refined yet welcoming setting.

Ferreira Café – A Truly Exceptional Portuguese Dining Experience
My visit to Ferreira Café was nothing short of extraordinary. Their cuisine is truly amazing, showcasing a perfect blend of creativity, quality, and authentic Portuguese flavors. From start to finish, every dish felt like a carefully crafted work of art.
We began with their signature appetizer, the Crispy Octopus and the Seafood Platter and both were spectacular. The presentation was beautiful, and each bite was well-balanced and full of flavor. It set the tone for what became an unforgettable dining experience.
The main courses were just as impressive. The “Fresh Catch from the Market and Portugal” lived up to its name: fresh, soft, and rich in flavor. The Fish and Seafood Bouillabaisse and the Lagareiro Octopus were incredibly savory and deeply satisfying. And the Tomahawk? An absolute masterpiece, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. It was truly one of the highlights of the night.
The cocktails were equally impressive. The Negroni, Filthy Martini, and Gaia were crafted with precision and tasted like works of art in a glass. The sommelier's champagne and wine recommendations were spot-on, and we thoroughly enjoyed every selection he made.
With great ambiance, friendly staff, and outstanding service, Ferreira Café delivered a memorable dining experience from beginning to end. As my first time enjoying Portuguese cuisine, I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction. This restaurant is truly worth visiting.

The food and atmosphere of this place is amazing!! I wanted to try everything on the menu so will be going back.
However what we decided to order was good but not excellent. The crab cake was mainly béchamel and onion. Good but not what we expected. Most things were slightly overcooked. For the price we expected perfection! The citrus earl grey sorbet crunch has such potential but has so much liquid it made the ‘crunch’ soggy.
Ask to sit in the back if you’re interested in haut cuisine— you have full access to see the kitchen! Very cool.
I think we came on an off night because the menu, service and atmosphere speak for themselves! One to come back to to try again 🤞🏻

The food was good; however, the service was disappointing.
From the start, the waiter’s behaviour was unprofessional. While I was placing our order, he walked away to serve another table and later seemed uncomfortable when we said we did not want any starters.
When my brother’s sea bass was served, we were not asked whether we would like the head and tail removed. This was surprising, as a neighbouring table received the same dish properly prepared by another waiter.
The situation became more awkward when the bill arrived. I chose not to add a tip, but the waiter insisted that the minimum was 15% and selected it himself on the card machine without my consent.
I normally have no issue tipping and respect hospitality staff, but on this occasion the service and attitude significantly detracted from the experience.

Honestly, for me, this is the best salmon I can eat in Montreal, in my opinion. The service is generally good, although on busy days people seem to be rushing around, but overall it's good. The drinks are delicious too, even the mocktails!* The fries are amazing, as are the mushrooms, and the chicken—everything is so good! The portions are excellent. Thank you

My girlfriend and I decided to bring my son to Reuben’s for some classic comfort food. It was his first visit, and the restaurant was packed — a clear sign of how popular it is. Thankfully, we had a reservation, so we didn’t have to wait long. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming, friendly, and attentive, answering all our questions with a smile.
My son and I both ordered the smoked meat sliders, while my girlfriend went with a vegetarian sandwich. Every dish was excellent — flavourful, well-prepared, and served piping hot. The smoked meat was tender and perfectly seasoned, and the sliders themselves were among the biggest I’ve seen anywhere. The portions are generous, and the presentation matches the quality.
Between the great service, delicious food, and lively yet comfortable atmosphere, Reuben’s delivered exactly what we were hoping for. A fantastic experience all around, and one we’ll definitely be repeating.

A Montreal staple, and never disappoints. The food was delicious. Friendly staff. We spoke English and there was no problem with that accommodating. Our server was friendly and attentive the whole time. Only drawback we found was we ordered Caesars as our drink not realizing they were $18 each which wasn't quite worth it. But the rest of the meal made up for it, especially the cheesecake

We’ve been to Reuben’s several times along the years and it has always been good. The food is delicious and the portions are satisfying. The atmosphere is cool and the staff are nice. Also, be careful not to confuse this restaurant with the other one sharing a similar name. This one is the best!

Great interior. Service was fantastic. I even got a taste tester of the meat. But my sandwich was underwhelming, and even worse was the poutine. Try sticking to the og smoked meat sandwich or something else entirely.

I had lunch buffet here, on October 19th 2025. Lunch buffet was good and tasty, but for vegetarian it need atleast one option of paneer every time as its there best source of protein also its best and lucrative alternative. As, per non vegetarian its worth the money which was 30$ plus tax. They had fresh naan but I would recommend that they should put tandoori roti as option too becz, some people dont like naan and hVe digestion problems. Also, there gulab jamun was must try.

I ordered the baingan bharta, garlic naan, and poppadoms. The baingan had whole cloves and cardamom, which overpowered the dish when I bit into them, and it ruined the meal for me, whole spices should be removed before serving. The garlic naan tasty, but the poppadoms were chewy instead of crisp. Delivery arrived nicely packed via Uber Eats.

Le Taj offers a beautifully warm and elegant atmosphere, with vintage Indian décor that creates an inviting and authentic setting. Service was professional and attentive, and the ambiance alone sets a high expectation for the dining experience.
We opted for the "feast" menu, which included a salad, appetizer, main with a vegetarian side, and dessert. The cucumber and tomato salad was refreshing, if a bit oversized. My fish appetizer was flat in flavor and oddly textured, though my partner’s papdi chaat was crisp, tangy, and truly excellent.
For mains, the butter chicken had perfectly cooked meat, but the sauce lacked the depth, spice, and balance expected from such a signature dish. My partner’s lamb vindaloo, however, was a standout - bold, rich, spicy, and deeply satisfying. On the side, the paneer masala had a beautifully balanced tomato-based sauce, while the saag paneer was watery and underseasoned. The naan was exceptional, and the basmati rice decent, though a bit soft.
Desserts were pleasant but unremarkable - gulab jamun was as expected, and a milk-based paneer dessert was unique but not particularly memorable.
The low point of the evening was unquestionably the cocktails. At $20 each, both the mango mojito and mango martini were disappointing - overly sweet, poorly balanced, and lacking noticeable alcohol & technique. They tasted more like juice than proper cocktails, which felt out of step with the overall experience and definitely a disappointment.
In summary, for the overall modest cost (about $120 per person), the experience was fair - beautiful ambiance, attentive service, and a few excellent dishes made it worthwhile. Still, based on its 4.2-star rating and reputation, we expected a bit more across the board. We've enjoyed more flavorful meals at lesser-known Indian restaurants, and with a few refinements - particularly in the cocktails and consistency of dishes - Le Taj could truly shine.
While the restaurant itself merits a solid 4 stars, the cocktails were disappointing enough to bring the overall experience down a notch to 3 stars. Fix the cocktails.

Went for brunch with a few friends and all the dishes we tried were really good. The portions were also very generous which we loved, worth the price.
We got the fried chicken with waffle, shakshuka, French toast, and the scrambled egg plate. The scrambled eggs were creamy and potatoes were nicely roasted and seasoned. French toast tasted exactly like it should have. Shakshuka was flavorful. Again creamy. The waffle was well made and the chicken was extremely juicy.

Deville Dinerbar was one of those places you visit without expectations but leave at the end of the night blown away. This may be one of the best eating experiences in Montreal from a food quality and presentation. What a great dinner style atmosphere and super friendly staff. Chef John puts passion into all of his dishes and runs a very impressive kitchen full of beautiful presentation.
Great food, Great Presentation, Great atmosphere would highly recommend. Don't forget the dessert, maybe the best I've eaten in Montreal, wow!! Easy parking with public parking lot right next door. Fantastic walking area especially if it's summer time. A must visit would highly recommend 👍👍

I’ve been to this restaurant twice: once for drinks and once for a meal.
The ambiance is really nice, especially upstairs, and the wall paintings give it a nice touch.
We tried the Devil Burger, which was okay, and the staff were friendly and welcoming.
The music was really my style,
and I feel the value for money could be a bit better.

We went there on a Saturday early evening and we were a party of 3 with a 2 years old baby. Very friendly and attentive staff who welcomed us and were very patient and friendly with our baby. They do have indoor and outdoor seatings but I highly recommend the outdoor seatings since the weather was nice during our visit in late September. The atmosphere was a little bit loud since they play really loud music but at the end before our leave the music becomes more quiet and less noisy. Food was delicious and portions are easy to share with a group. I’d visit again to try their desserts.

Absolutely phenomenal, I cannot recommend this place enough. Side note: the cappuccino here was absolutely incredible and such a great - any coffee enthusiast will find it delectable.

The food was quite disappointing overall. The French fries had a very strong smell of oil, similar to old or burnt oil, and the taste was unpleasant. The fruits seemed stale and not fresh. While the staff were polite and well-behaved, the atmosphere was not calm or comfortable enough for enjoying breakfast. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not meet expectations

Perfectly served breakfast. Had a large latte which was super creamy. Ordered one egg and bacon. For my surprise this came with fruit, bread and potatoes. So it was more than enough! Service is super polite and fast!

Great place to meet up after working downtown. 5 a 7 every weekday night and a great selection of food. Great for groups we were six. Good for vegans too.

Had a really nice time here. The place is super cozy and feels very warm. Service was quick and polite, we didn't have to wait long for food at all. I loved my pizza (yum!), and even though my husband thought his was just okay, we both enjoyed the meal. Good option for a quiet, casual dinner.

Absolutely love it here, it’s the most cozy and sweet restaurant in downtown Montreal. The music and ambience make you feel like you’re in a little Italian cafe. The pasta is delicious and made with fresh ingredients. The pizza was slightly hard, but still delightful! Wonderful service and atmosphere, we love coming here!

The restaurant was warm and cozy except whenever the outside door was opened. I looked forward to the authentic pizza oven 🍕. Ordered a Caesar salad to start and was surprised by the fake bacon bits and tiny store bought croutons. Lettuce was fresh though. The chef's pizza was good although missing the sausage that was advertised. Service was efficient but not friendly.

Near one of Montreal’s main avenues, you’ll find this small Sicilian restaurant. I enjoyed a plate of spaghetti alle vongole, which was very flavourful and well prepared. I finished the meal with a glass of Frangelico over ice. Overall, a lovely experience with attentive service and a relaxed, pleasant atmosphere.

The service is great and has a classic retro vibe.
The food, however, is average but decently priced. It’s a safe location to choose if you would like to stick to North American style Italian food.
