5 Star Rating This is the nicest hotel we’ve stayed at in Montreal. The staff are super attentive and well trained in every position. The restaurant is worth going to whether you’re staying at the hotel or not. Outstanding food and great selection of wines.

5 Star Rating Had the most magical stay at this hidden gem of a luxury boutique Hotel, in early May. I was celebrating a friend's special occasion while in town Juliette & Isabella made my stay truly spectacular and magnificently went above and beyond for my dear friend and I. From the upgraded presidential suite to all the beautiful touches Juliette (the weekend concierge) added; everything was perfect! The suite itself is jaw-dropping, and has everything one could ever wish for in a premium suite — from the huge walkout terrace on a high floor with stunning city and valley views; a full butler kitchen, to the chic yet comfortable seating; to the spa-like bathroom and the oh-so-comfy bedding. It was spacious, luxe yet extremely comfortable. What made this hotel stand out, was the extraordinary customer service and attention to detail. The staff were all attentive yet not overbearing. Isabella & Juliette were the true stars of this stay...so attentive, caring, and compassionate. They both moved my friends and I close to tears, because of how much thought and care they put into my very short stay. It was a very special occasion, still they took everything to heart and did everything possible making our stay as close to perfect as it gets. I also loved the location, it was peaceful...tucked away from the busyness of the downtown core, yet steps away from parks and anything one could ever want. The front desk team were pleasant enough, although disappointingly nor as friendly/attentive the next day, with in-room breakfast issues..there definitely was some attitude displayed from the regular front desk personnel the day of check-out? Fortunately this didn't affect my friend or myself, yet it was a bit disappointing and odd. Isabella obviously being the exception, the day before, as she was not in-person day of check-out. Only wished that my stay had been longer, and that Juliette was more available through the weekend etc! Roberto, the hotel's main concierge was also very nice and fun to speak about many different travel topics! Still, staying here was the best hotel experience I have had in many years, definitely as good as a five-star stay one could get. I'd also say far better than the Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton (both overrated and excessively expensive). Best Le Germain experience by far, as I've been to most of them. A true Forbes five-star/five-diamond boutique hotel experience, like one would get in NYC or Europe.

5 Star Rating This hotel is in a good location downtown within walking distance to many busy nightlife areas. This was our second time staying at this hotel and I expect we will return. For parking I typically leave the vehicle with valet and then take taxis or walk. You can try craft cocktails at their bar, tho admittedly I have yet to try the restaurant. Rooms are designed and finished nicely at a reasonable price. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

5 Star Rating I stayed at this hotel for a business trip to research fashion and travel for Montreal. While searching where to stay the image of that swing in room screamed “I must stay there” The location is perfect to explore the downtown area. Intimate but large enough to have all your needs met. A surprise was the cool wallpaper in the bathroom. We all need something to read! I’d stay again in a heart beat and yes loved the swing!

5 Star Rating I wasn’t prepared coming into this hotel with sweatpants and a hoodie. Regardless, the staff treated me with exceptional customer service. The rooms were very chic and clean, reflecting the overall atmosphere of the hotel. Would definitely come back if I’m ever in the city again. Highly recommend using the robe.

4 Star Rating The place is at a busy intersection downtown area/ near st Catherine street where all the shopping & eateries are. Service was lovely and we were quickly seated even though it was busy and food was delivered fairly quickly to the table too , we went around brunch hour on Saturday. The menu makes it hard to choose one thing and the eggs were perfect with just a slightly sour hollandaise sauce. The house salad on the side was good with ample dressing/ the lyonnaise potatoes were perfectly flavoured and done just right. The all American breakfast came with bacon, sausages and ham and poached eggs which hit the spot! Loved the quantities which weren’t crazy but just right. My pancakes though were delicious but I found one corner chewy and I wasn’t sure if they accidentally put in the packaging paper when cutting some ingredient. The coffee was excellent and the burger too was delicious.

4 Star Rating Good place for breakfast. They had some unique options but the menu felt slightly limited. Drinks were delicious but I found the orange juice in my sangria to have too much pulp. I didn’t realize there were two floors to the building and there was more seating than expected. Was quiet which was perfect for some good conversation. Overall a very good place and will visit again.

5 Star Rating Eggspectation - Maisonneuve offers a solid breakfast and brunch experience with a wide variety of menu items to choose from. The portions were decent and satisfying, though not overly large. While the prices could be a bit more competitive, they’re still fair for the quality and atmosphere. The staff were incredibly polite, well-dressed, and respectful, adding a professional yet friendly touch to the visit. The warm and welcoming environment made the overall experience very enjoyable. Definitely a great spot to start your day!

4 Star Rating The coffee was good, and overall the food was enjoyable. However, I would have preferred fewer potatoes or the option to replace them with vegetables or a green salad. Also, it would be nicer if the fruits were served separately or, if presented on the same plate, perhaps arranged so they don’t touch the eggs or savory items.

5 Star Rating Went to eggspectation with some friends from Sunday brunch. This was my first time but they had been there a couple of time and recommended it for our meal. We orded their regular Poutine for the table as an entrée and it was a great start to our lunch. Was looking to have a french toast breakfast but also wanted something savory, so ended up ordering the chicken🍗 and Waffels and requested that my waffles be substituted with french toast. They were very accommodating to this request. That was one of the best breakfast🍳🍳 I have had. Just delicious😋😋😋 with a healthy helping of Canadian maple syrup. Thank you to Rubel, our server for the great and efficient service. He was very attentive to our group. I will definitely be going back for more amazing brunches I the future.

5 Star Rating The most amazing Reuben and Club Sandwich. The meat was juicy, moist and stacked high. The Club sandwich was more than anyone can eat. They give you a Hugh pickle, coleslaw and fries. It is pricey but since I got two meals out of my order I was able to justify it. The restaurant was clean with a nice ambience and service was good.

5 Star Rating We went to this legendary restaurant while visiting Montreal. We went a little before 5:00 p.m. in order to avoid expected crowds. It was a good decision given the size of the actual restaurant. In terms of the food, it was quite delicious. We enjoyed a combination of the chicken fingers, hot dog and the traditional smoked meat. The size of meals was perfect. A special thank you to our server George who made our son feel extremely special while at the restaurant. He went out of his way. 🥪🌭🥤

5 Star Rating This place closes after midnight. We got to our hotel around 11pm, this was one of few options we had. And I’m glad we went there. Their smoked meat is hands-down one of the bests. We shared a smoked club sandwich, asked to upgrade our fries with normal poutine, Louisiana soup and french onion soup. Everything was delicious. Their smoked meat and french onion were amazing. I didn’t care for it. I don’t was it, but I have to mention that I never had it before, so I can’t be a good judge of poutine.

4 Star Rating Once inside Sho-Dan, I found myself underwhelmed by the overall atmosphere. The décor lacks character, with plain white tablecloths and a lack of any distinctive features. Instead of exuding a sushi restaurant ambiance, it feels more like an upscale Italian establishment catering to an older demographic. Unfortunately, my initial impression fell short of excitement. However, my disappointment took a turn when we decided to sample a variety of items from the menu. The sushi exceeded expectations, boasting a delightful freshness and appealing presentation. Accompanied by flavorful sauces, the culinary experience was elevated. The house drinks were also noteworthy, adding a positive note to our dining experience. While the staff exhibited kindness, there was a slight lack of enthusiasm, though the service remained decent. In conclusion, it's a venue worth considering if you're seeking exceptionally good sushi. The culinary delights outweigh the lackluster ambiance, making it a destination for sushi enthusiasts.

4 Star Rating First time in shodan for lunch. We have ordered the sushi plate for 2 and added a sushi pizza. I believe if we will be just full only have sushi plate for 2.adding pizza we r too full. The fish are so fresh! However I find the rice is abit too soft and doesn't taste enough vinegar. Thus 4/5 for the food. Service is good, atmosphere is good. Will come back and try the dinner menue, heard the specialty rolls are good too. Sushi pizza is covered by smoked salmon. Find the rice is not crispy enough or maybe too thin to taste the crispness.

5 Star Rating Red snapper fish is an expensive species, so don’t be surprised by the price tag. But, if you’re not a huge fan of fish, this simple preparation method highlighting the fish’s quality might not taste worth it for you. I personally thought it just tastes similar to other white flesh fish, so i was glad we had also ordered other more heavily flavoured dishes like Seafood Rice, and Mushroom Duck Risotto. A point i would like to praise is the general lack of bones. Beautifully done. The Seafood Platter is also expensive, but you’re paying to be able to have a bit of everything. The smoked fish is really salty, but is good with sourdough bread. Lobster is great. Crispy octopus is a must-try in my opinion. The exterior is slightly crispy while keeping a soft interior. Amazing. Risotto has a very strong mushroom flavour, the duck falls off the bone. The dish is a bit heavy if you don’t have any sides, but it’s perfect to share. The presentation looks awkward with the dish being so deep compared to the amount of food in it. We didn’t order any drinks. Our waiter made a few mistakes and was difficult to get a hold of, but we were a table of 6 and it was late, so it’s understandable. The restaurant is very loud when it’s full. The small tables are pretty close to each other. The kitchen on the elevation has a transparent separator, letting you see. I suggest reserving even for week days, especially with the weather getting better. Overall great experience with the variety of dishes we ordered.

4 Star Rating Wanted to checkout the famous Montreal smoked meat sandwich, and I've heard Reuben's is one of the best. I preferred the special smoked meat option over the original Reuben's because the Reuben's was a bit too salty. The French onion soup starter was very well done. 3 Star Rating Le Taj offers a beautifully warm and elegant atmosphere, with vintage Indian décor that creates an inviting and authentic setting. Service was professional and attentive, and the ambiance alone sets a high expectation for the dining experience. We opted for the "feast" menu, which included a salad, appetizer, main with a vegetarian side, and dessert. The cucumber and tomato salad was refreshing, if a bit oversized. My fish appetizer was flat in flavor and oddly textured, though my partner’s papdi chaat was crisp, tangy, and truly excellent. For mains, the butter chicken had perfectly cooked meat, but the sauce lacked the depth, spice, and balance expected from such a signature dish. My partner’s lamb vindaloo, however, was a standout - bold, rich, spicy, and deeply satisfying. On the side, the paneer masala had a beautifully balanced tomato-based sauce, while the saag paneer was watery and underseasoned. The naan was exceptional, and the basmati rice decent, though a bit soft. Desserts were pleasant but unremarkable - gulab jamun was as expected, and a milk-based paneer dessert was unique but not particularly memorable. The low point of the evening was unquestionably the cocktails. At $20 each, both the mango mojito and mango martini were disappointing - overly sweet, poorly balanced, and lacking noticeable alcohol & technique. They tasted more like juice than proper cocktails, which felt out of step with the overall experience and definitely a disappointment. In summary, for the overall modest cost (about $120 per person), the experience was fair - beautiful ambiance, attentive service, and a few excellent dishes made it worthwhile. Still, based on its 4.2-star rating and reputation, we expected a bit more across the board. We've enjoyed more flavorful meals at lesser-known Indian restaurants, and with a few refinements - particularly in the cocktails and consistency of dishes - Le Taj could truly shine. While the restaurant itself merits a solid 4 stars, the cocktails were disappointing enough to bring the overall experience down a notch to 3 stars. Fix the cocktails.

5 Star Rating While exploring Montreal, I randomly stopped someone on the street to ask for a good place to eat—and they recommended Deville Dinerbar. I’m so glad they did, because this place is an absolute gem! The food was incredible—every dish was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. And the drinks? Phenomenal. Truly some of the best I’ve had. But the highlight of my visit was Ken, the bartender. She is hands down one of the greatest I’ve ever encountered. Her craft, energy, and attention to detail were unmatched. Not only were her cocktails amazing, but her warm and genuine service made the entire experience unforgettable. You can tell she loves what she does, and it shows in every interaction. Deville Dinerbar turned what started as a casual outing into a memorable part of my trip. If you’re in Montreal, don’t miss this spot—and if you’re lucky enough to sit at the bar with Ken, you’re in for something special. 🍸✨

We loved the wasabi mayo. The squid was crunchy and delish. Then we enjoyed the burgers and fries. The salads looked amazing so I want to return to try one.

5 Star Rating I’ve walked past this place for god knows how many years and never stopped, always assuming it was just an overpriced tourist trap because of its location. Today I decided to give it a shot—why not? It was around noon on a Friday, the terrasse was fairly empty, and we got seated right away with quick service. First surprise: the prices. $13.50 for a 2 eggs and bacon breakfast?! Most spots in town are charging $18–19+ for that now, and often with mediocre quality. I went for the classic breakfast plus a piña colada (also very reasonably priced). The food and drinks came within 10 minutes, and I was instantly impressed. Solid portions. The potatoes were perfectly seasoned and crispy, the bacon was thick and delicious, and the scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection. Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for better. Compared to places like Cora, where prices are sky-high for microwave bacon and tiny portions, Universel is a breath of fresh air. My drink was also excellent. With everything in the city feeling insanely overpriced since COVID, Universel gave me hope. Great prices, great quality, and fast service—I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

5 Star Rating This is close to our hotel so we checked it out and we were very happy we did. We had good-sized portions for our breakfast. The servers were amazing. We each had the ultimate breakfast meal while my wife had it with French toast, my son had it with a crepe, and I got the waffle with it. I recommend this spot for anyone.

5 Star Rating My family and I had a pleasant experience at this restaurant We stumbled on this place while looking for a breakfast joint on Rue Cathrine before a campus tour. We were warmly greeted upon entry. Our server was excellent. I’ve never had someone ask “which language would you prefer to communicate with?” That’s memorable service which warranted a huge tip at the end of our meal. Anyway, the breakfast portions weren’t huge, but just right. I ordered a western sandwich on croissant (excellent). My daughter ordered a croissant sandwich with egg, sausage & Swiss cheese (also excellent). My youngest daughter ordered plain crepes. When I tasted hers, I ordered my own single crepe as well. It was one of the best crepes I’ve tasted outside of what is made at home, or what Cora’s serves. I was most impressed by the bottle of maple syrup , free of charge, brought to the table to enjoy with crepes , French toast or waffles. The maple syrup was so good, i was considering sneaking the bottle into my daughter’s purse (I didn’t!) We were greeted warmly by three people on the way out as well. Once again, excellent, tip-worthy service

5 Star Rating Absolutely loved this place! One of the things that really stood out to me was that they offer late breakfast options, I was there aroun noon during the week and got offered both menus. Super convenient. The service was impeccable, and the food was amazing. They have a great variety of dishes for both breakfast and dinner, and everything I tried was delicious. Highly recommend!

5 Star Rating This was our first time here. The place was quiet and relaxed feel to it. We went around 6:20 pm. We ordered their minestrone soup, and it was delicious. We had pepperoni pizza, cooked in a pizza oven. The pizza was excellent.

5 Star Rating Been talking about going here for years but never got around to it. I regret not going sooner. A bit of nostalgia with the checkered red and white table cloth's and relaxed atmosphere. The food was great, you can't go wrong with a real wood fired oven pizza or calzone. The service was amazing. The only small thing I noticed was the lighting as there was alot of mismatched bulbs, as in ultra bright whites and subdued off whites. Easy fix. Will be back!

2 Star Rating We ordered two pizzas and pasta, pizzas were served quickly and it took over 30mn and I am still waiting to get the pasta. The service was very bad and no attention to clients. We had to ask for everything’s as nothing was suggested to us. Bad experience

2 Star Rating Restaurant Siciliana had a somewhat authentic Italian feel to it, with a cozy atmosphere. The food had great flavor, and I enjoyed the tortellini soup and chicken parmesan. However, the chicken was so thin that it ended up overcooked and a little hard around the edges. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by some issues. Some of the staff were sitting at tables playing on their phones and just staring around, which made me feel uncomfortable. Additionally, the restaurant was filled with fumes from the brick oven and looked smokey. You could see the black char going up the brick oven and on the ceiling tiles. Overall, I would not recommend Restaurant Siciliana if you are visiting Montreal.

3 Star Rating Very old but functioning. Used to be better but now you can notice that they no on get keep up the standard and are lacking no in many areas. Food is not prepared by Italians anymore but still good tasting. Service is poor with only one person working the entire floor. Atmosphere is below average at this point dirty floors old old carpets old chairs etc
