5 star experience! The front desk staff and room attendant were very friendly and accommodating. The room was also spotless and modern. The hotel is also a very strategic location if you enjoy hiking at Mont Royal, while still very close to all the shops. We would stay here again without hesitation.

Amazing hotel, well located near to downtown Montreal but also the McGill campus and hiking up the mountain parkland nearby. Rooms are modern, spacious and very well laid out. Staff are friendly and welcoming. We'll be back!

Great location, friendly staff. Excellent decor. The bed was a bit firm for me, my husband thought it was comfortable. Robes and shower amenities included. Water filling stations near the elevator. Small exercise room.

This restaurant is one of the hidden gems in Montreal. We found it on a trip here a year ago and came back twice this trip. We have had brunch twice and dinner tonight and it didn't disappoint. The staff here are amazing, every visit makes us think we just had the best server ever. We have never had trouble getting a table here even during very busy times. Do yourself a favour and visit soon and often!

Wow. I travel for a living (over 40 years now) and am always looking for a great breakfast place. As an airline crew member, I spent some time in downtown Montreal and stumbled upon Eggspectation. The photo says it all. The portion size is ridiculously large. The food was spectacular and, given the portion size, a really great value. Rubel, the server, was very attentive and helpful. What more could one ask for? If you’re looking for a great breakfast and excellent service, give this place your business. I’ll definitely be back! 🙌🏼

Dunn's Famous has been a Montreal institution since 1927, and after one bite of their legendary smoked meat sandwich, I completely understand why. I'll be honest — I was a little nervous ordering it. I expected the meat to be dry and tough, but it was the complete opposite. The brisket is dry-cured for 10-14 days with a signature spice blend, then steamed just before slicing to keep it meltingly tender. Every bite was juicy, savoury, and packed with that perfect smoky flavour. The meat practically melts in your mouth. What really elevated the sandwich was the tangy sauerkraut on the side — it cuts through the richness perfectly and keeps things balanced. The fresh rye bread and simple yellow mustard let the star of the show shine.

Their smoked meat poutine is excellent! Definitely worth a stop. Portions are also pretty massive so if you haven’t planned for a large meal you may want to share your entree.

You can't visit Montréal without going to Dunns - it is a must-do on any itinerary. Whether I can say they do the best Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwich is entirely subjective as I never made it to its main competitor - Schwartz's Deli - but what I can say is that Dunns was absolutely great on both occasions we visited. I went for the Classic Combo on the first visit and the Reuben Combo on my second. Based on both those occasions it definitely lives up to the hype....it's good!! Personally I prefer the leaner meat (you are given a choice) as the standard one is rather greasy for my pallet and you end up with oily fingers which isn't nice but that's a matter of taste. On both occasions we were welcomed by the lovely staff and given help with the menu. Particularly on the first visit when we went at peak period and there were people standing in line at the door there was no pressure to pay up and leave once we were finished which is often the case with "popular" restaurants/diners. On the second visit we tried their in-house pickle flavoured ketchup and it was fantastic. We were offered a bottle for CA$9.00 but sadly our luggage was already full! Although it is small-ish restaurant you don't worry about finding a table as it is open 18 hours a day, but do get there as soon as it opens at 11am as the local lunch crowd will soon fill it up.

Needed to grab a late night dinner after catching the Habs game and was happy to see Dunn's is open super late. I got the Super Combo Smoked Meat for takeout and it was a massive portion size for only about $30 after tax. The food tasted great. I'd say this was probably my second favourite smoked meat meal during my stay in Montreal. The meat was a little too lean for my liking, would have probably preferred it to be a little bit more fatty (kind of felt more like a pastrami sandwich). But the portion size was huge, flavours were great, and value for money pretty good. The coleslaw in particular was delicious. Will definitely come back the next time I'm in Montreal!

The drink was easily one of the best I’ve had since visiting different places across Canada so far. If you like sushi, this is an absolute must-go restaurant. Not only does the chef create outstanding classic sushi, but they also introduce you to unique, unforgettable creations you won’t find anywhere else. We trusted the server to choose for us—and we definitely did not regret that decision. It made the experience even better. Keep in mind that you get what you pay for. The prices are on the higher end, but they’re in line with other high-quality sushi restaurants and absolutely worth it.

We recently had a positive experience at Sho Dan Sushi in Montreal. After a day of Browse the fantastic boutiques and shops nearby, it was the perfect place to unwind and grab a bite. Once inside Sho-Dan, I found myself underwhelmed by the overall atmosphere. The décor lacks character, with plain white tablecloths and a lack of any distinctive features. My sister recommended this restaurant to us. We made a reservation on the Open table app and had an extraordinary experience. A lovely ambience and fantastic staff, but even better food! We tried the octopus starter and some oysters, for dinner we ordered the halibut and black cod followed by the chocolate mousse dessert. Our server Michael was chatty and made the evening even more enjoyable.

We had such a wonderful meal at Ferreira Café in Montreal! 🦐🦑 The grilled squid was fresh, tender, and absolutely delicious, and the seafood paella was packed with fresh, flavorful seafood. You can really taste the freshness in every bite! The only small downside was that the seafood rice had a slightly grainy texture, likely from some of the clams and mussels. Aside from that, everything was delicious and beautifully prepared. Overall, a lovely dining experience and definitely a place we would come back to! ❤️

A must for Portuguese seafood. Service atmosphere and food were all amazing. Fresh fish on ice to choose from and the specials were perfection - lobster pasta with cherry tomatoes and a lightly spicy sauce and scallop ceviche with coconut cream were as good if not better than they sound. We also tried the roasted sardines on cornbread starter and the black cod with porcini and truffle crust - which are 2 of the specialties and they were everything promised. We wrapped with the triple dessert - tarts, cheesecake and chocolate mousse with lemon ice cream, olive oil and salt. I cant really say enough about the service, either. Patient and shared context about every dish with a smile and desire to please. We stumbled on this gem but the guests next to us told us they'd researched it and came because of the reviews. The hardest part is not going 2 nights in a row before we leave, knowing there are so many other treasures in Montreal.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ferreira Café following its stunning and meticulously executed renovation. I’ve actually been a fan of the Ferreira family and their restaurants for well over a decade…ever since they were clients of a small startup marketing agency where I worked during my university years (which suddenly makes me feel very old!). What has always set Ferreira apart is their unwavering commitment to hospitality. Despite the restaurant being filled with both longtime regulars and first-time guests, every table seemed to be having the same experience: exceptional service, incredible food, and thoughtfully selected wines. In a city filled with outstanding fine dining establishments, it’s the details that make Ferreira truly special. From wines produced at their own vineyard in Portugal; available by the glass, bottle, or even to take home, to their own Portuguese olive oil, every touch feels intentional and deeply personal. Watching the growth and evolution of this family-owned institution over the years has been incredibly rewarding, and I couldn’t be happier to see them continue to thrive. I recently visited this well-known Reuben spot and had a mixed experience. The restaurant itself is beautiful, upscale, and has a great atmosphere. The service was outstanding from start to finish. The staff were knowledgeable, helped us choose our food, recommended cocktail specials, and checked in regularly throughout the meal without being intrusive. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the reputation. While the sandwich was good, it was somewhat disappointing overall. I've had better Montreal smoked meat elsewhere. To my taste, the meat seemed a bit overcooked and lacked some of the rich flavor I was expecting. The house dressing, which replaces the traditional Russian dressing, was also too sweet for my liking and didn't complement the sandwich as well as a classic dressing would have. The biggest drawback was the price. Given the portion, quality, and overall experience, I found it significantly overpriced. While the excellent service and elegant setting are definite positives, I'm not sure the food justifies the premium cost.

After some serious shopping downtown, we stopped by Reuben's Deli & Steak on St. Catherine's (not too be confused with the other Reuben's on St. Catherine's a few blocks away. This one actually has a steakhouse vibe to it with the decor. We ordered the Rated PG ($14) with passion fruit purée, lime, and rooibos tea as well as the Nojito ($14) with strawberry, lime, 7up, and mint. For our meals, we had the Reuben's Chop-Chop Poutine ($22) and The Mediterranean Salad ($29) with chicken. Both dishes were quite large and we didn't finish. The poutine was in a large bowl and perfectly crispy fries. There wasn't a huge amount of gravy and most of it fell to the bottom of the bowl, but this kept the fries crisp instead of soggy. I did like the chopped up meats in the dish and it worked well if you mixed up the bowl to get the gravy on the bottom. If you like a super wet poutine, this isn't it. Service was pretty good, friendly server. It was too bad they were still doing the construction on St. Catherine's out in front of the building. Wish we had enough room to try their cheesecakes.

Great meal in a quiet restaurant. The naan was truly the best I have had and beautiful. One order of naan with one order of rice was perfect for 3 people. We had vegetable korma (rated as the best she’d had by the person who ordered it), saag paneer, and chicken tikka. The chicken was not at all dry-tender and delicious. Tandoori chicken often is dry and this was spectacular. We also enjoyed the cucumber tomato salad, shared among three of us.

I’ve been going here for over 30 years. It was my favourite Indian restaurant until last year when the naan bread became too thin (3-4 mm), rubbery, difficult to chew and didn’t absorb the sauces. I’ve complained multiple times but the administration denies everything despite my attempt to give them constructive feedback. The same issue is found at their Royalmount restaurant. Sad!

I watched the Spain vs. France 2026 World Cup match while having dinner here. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Last minute stop before they closed Thursday 4/23. Great service and the burgers were great. Got the Black Label… mmhmm.. enjoyed the fires too! Nice vibe! Went back Saturday 4/25 for brunch… omg.. the steak and eggs Tartine was sooo good, everyone loved what they got. We came in group of 10 each time and were easily accommodated. I picked the restaurant from Google , based on the location to our hotel, that it seemed to have style, and the price range was what I was looking for. We had a great visit. The staff were friendly, our server was attentive (and also explained the backstory to the diner to us), and the food not only looked great but tasted even better. I would certainly return.

Consider this an upscale diner that offers elevated food in a fancy diner setting. We were here earlier this week for an early dinner and we’re happy we did! Menu is unique, there were a number of selections that we would’ve loved to try- but the mac and cheese wontons, lobster roll and beignets were the highlights. Service was great- our server was attentive and helpful, food also arrived very timely. Fun space with good food- would recommend and is a good place for family as well.

My wife and I went here for dinner on our Montreal trip. It was close to our hotel and since it had really good ratings, my wife was eager to try out this restaurant, especially their bad girl sea food pasta. Unfortunately, she was somewhat disappointed. Although she did have very high expectations. To begin with, the flavor was just okay. The seafood was a bit overcooked, the shrimp was overseasoned and one of the three clams she received was empty (you can see it in the picture). For a $49CAD pasta dish, she was expecting something a bit more. But it was sea food, so 🤷 On the other hand, I ordered the lasagna. It was great! I liked it a lot! It was very crunchy on the outside and had a good amount of cheese. I only wish it came with a little bit more sauce because that was also delicious l. My wife and I shared my plate. And I helped her finish hers. If you are hoping to get some good food that would make your day from this restaurant, I would recommend not to order the sea food pasta. Overall the food was fine, however for the price we paid we were expecting a bit more.

It’s a very nice place, however the tables are quite close together which makes it feel cramped. The service was a bit slow but I came during a busy hour. The food is absolutely delicious! The drinks are scrumptious too, but the matcha was quite watered down. Nonetheless everything was quite amazing!

Absolutely love it here, it’s the most cozy and sweet restaurant in downtown Montreal. The music and ambience make you feel like you’re in a little Italian cafe.
