We came across this spot on our first night in Montréal and it immediately set the tone for the trip. The atmosphere was honestly really cozy, welcoming, and full of that effortless Montréal charm. Our server, Amélie was truly wonderful, so kind, patient, and full of great recommendations. You can feel when service comes from the heart, and hers absolutely did.
The food was incredible - very fresh, flavourful, and clearly made with care. Their specials and salads are next level and the mussels + fries combo was perfect. Everything came out beautifully plated and tasted even better than it looked. The portions were also very generous, and the whole place was clean, warm with a relaxed and elevated vibe.
We loved it so much the first time around that we came back again a second time! If you’re visiting Montréal and want a late-night spot with great energy, delicious food, and friendly staff, this place is a must! Highly recommend!

What can I say! From the moment I walked in to a full restaurant full of laughs, friends and fun and the host greeting me with an offer for a beer while I wait for a table for one, to the kick butt 80’s playlist that was the perfect compliment to the wonderful “pub” atmosphere I was in heaven! And I haven’t even talked about the food! The French onion soup was the perfect balance of flavour, the exact perfect portion and a flavour and profile that was, “moreish” I could have eaten another bowl instantly. Thank god I didn’t because the duck confit poutine that followed truly left me thinking, “ wow this is quite literally the first and best poutine you have ever had in your life” now I am spoiled and will compare every French onion soup and poutine to this experience. A delightful churro with homemade caramel and cappuccino for dessert was the perfect way to end this truly magical experience. Of course an experience would not be complete without an incredible group of individuals that make it all happen, from the host to my beautiful server who remembered me from the night before and welcomed me back, to the amazing chef in the kitchen who crafted this magnificent feast! I am truly blown away! Thank you so much to you all for perhaps one of the best dining experiences of my entire life. It was the icing on the cake for this guys solo work visit to the beautiful Montreal! C’est Magnefique(sp? 😂)!

We came to Montreal for a long weekend visit. Spotted Nyks and went in for a drink and ended up staying for 2 1/2 hours - seems the locals appreciate this place as well. What a lively and fun place! Jordan behind the bar is very friendly, welcoming, and a great bartender. We ended up returning the next evening for more drinks and dinner. The poutine avec confit de canard was incredible. We will certainly visit any time we are in Montreal.

Loved this place! It gets very busy at night on the weekends once all the shops are closed but the atmosphere was incredible. The food was delicious and reasonably priced (at least for us paying in USD). Service was slightly backed up while we were dinning but that contributed to every table being filled. Overall, would definitely come back here!

My new favorite place!
What do we want in a restaurant? Great ambiance, attentive service, delicious meals, carefully crafted cocktails and a reasonable price. NYKS checks all boxes.
The steak was delicious and I did a double take when I saw how affordable it was.
My wife loved the Fish and Chios with just the right crispiness in the batter.
Reservations are a good idea because it does fill out fast!

The food here is always really good. I personally really enjoy their ribs, but they have good steak also and the baked potatoes are delicious.
This location is quite large so they rarely have any waiting time.
There are so many things to do in the area that it makes it a perfect spot to eat at if you're in the downtown area for a show, shopping, etc.

Baton Rouge for dinner - no problem. Atmosphere is great, lots of space, noise level is good, seats are comfy. Look and feel is great.. The staff is polite, efficient, accommodating (Brandon, in particular was awesome).
The menu needs help. Apps (we shared crab cakes) were excellent. Main .. not so. It’s like BR needs to reinvest itself and its menu. Had the Louisiana Chicken that was absolutely ‘smothered’ in peanut sauce - overpowered the chicken, the salad, etc. Grilled Peach Salad - were those canned peaches?? Just ‘unloading spices’ doesn’t give me the flavours and the value I expect at this price. BR, lots of options on this strip, better reinvent your menu here, and step it up.. Fortunately, cocktails here are good, but let’s address and expand the menu .. fyi.. peanut sauce isn’t ’Louisiana’. Figure out what kind of restaurant you want to be.

Went there at lunch time, waited twenty minutes for the waiter to come with glasses of water and ask us if we wanted anything. The Baton Rouge burger was good, nothing surprising, and the Prime Rib sandwich was not really tender.

Food and libations came out quick. Only ordered appetizers-which tasted excellent and cooked perfectly. The garden salad was also amazing. Service was exceptional as well. The ambience and decorum-modern and clean.

Visited on Monday ribs for $25. Customer service was excellent. Food was very good however cole slaw was very bland and ribs had not much sauce. Despite this we really enjoyed dinner. French onion soup and cesar salad were very good. Merci.

Nice brewery with an old, cozy rustic vibe and really friendly service. The open hours are one of its best features. Definitely try their 🥨 It’s worth it. They don’t serve fries or any other kitchen food. The beer selection isn’t exceptional, but it’s still quite good.

A lovely brasserie near Place Des Arts. Great beer, good music and a cool outdoor space to enjoy when weather permits. I was here on two different occasions. The first night a random wave of about 15 rookie beer drinkers arrived and made life hell for the bartender right before I walked in the door. The second night everything was super chill. Highly recommended place to drink beer before or after a visit to the Place Des Arts. Merci Montreal!

I want to clarify a recent negative review regarding Melody. I was present and witnessed the entire interaction. The customer in question was disrespectful from the start, refused to tip, and was looking for an issue where there wasn’t one. Melody handled the situation with professionalism, patience, and grace.
We’ve been coming to Benelux during the busy holiday season—two days before Christmas—and Melody has consistently provided exceptional service. She’s attentive, welcoming, and truly phenomenal at what she does. The atmosphere, drinks, and service have been excellent.
Melody is hands down one of the best bartenders I’ve encountered. If you’re coming to Benelux, make sure you sit at the bar and ask for Melody—you won’t be disappointed.

Made a booking that wasn’t seen by the staff. When we arrived we were told no children inside, so we had to sit on the terrace. Luckily it was an unseasonably warm October afternoon.
They didn’t have any of the food or drink options we ordered available, despite not being told this when supplied with the menu. What we ended up having was nice, and pretty affordable. Wouldn’t return due to the child policy!

The venue is absolutely stunning with amazing acoustics. We went to see Old soul there and it was undoubtedly the best sounding show of theirs we have been to.
The staff is amazing and very helpful, since it is a bit of a maze going through the church.
Special shout out to Mila for being so helpful and knowledgeable about the location and everything surrounding the venue.

The ad is so misleading!! Booked for a Candlelight concert which looked beautiful in pictures. Selected the best seats possible (A section). The ambiance was nothing like what was shown on the website.
The musicians saved the day because the music was amazing, but the experience felt cheap.
Top picture is the ad, bottom pic is reality.

Had such a blast on the Valentine's jazz night.
It's pretty sad to have to rate four stars instead of five for some of small things during it.
First of all, the food, the staff, the band, the singer, the wine, atmosphere, location, everything I mentioned above is beyond AMAZING! No complaints on those at all.
Sadly I didn't quite enjoy the cocktails so much, we ordered two different cocktails and neither of them can step up with our high expectations, with the price and all the good things I mentioned above.
For sure this place is perfect for special occasions, as it's a fancy place to dine, behind and inside of an old church. That part I think it's brilliant!
The toilets are quite limited as it's inside the old church but it was not packed at all so I don't find this a negative thing.
In summary, best fancy place for live music, food, wine selections not so much for cocktails (in my opinion) OR maybe if you try different cocktails it would have been better. Still recommended!

I had the absolute pleasure of attending Brunch Gospel with Michelle Sweeney and the Gospel Tribe at the Balcon on the 28th, and it was an unforgettable experience! The food was really good but the highlight for me was the music. Michelle Sweeney and the Gospel Tribe delivered performances that were nothing short of electrifying. It was a good way to enjoy great food while being uplifted by incredible live gospel music.

I had a below-average experience at this restaurant and, for the price, I honestly expected much better. The service was noticeably slow, and it took a long time to be attended to throughout the meal. On top of that, several wines listed on the menu weren’t actually available, which was disappointing given the size of the wine list.
The same issue came up with food, a few dishes on the menu couldn’t be ordered. The menu also stated you could add seafood to the arrabbiata pasta, but staff told us that option had been cancelled some time ago, and the menu simply hadn’t been updated. For a restaurant like this, I’d expect more attention to detail and a smoother overall experience.
To make matters worse, there was a mouse running around the dining area. An employee eventually dealt with it and removed it, but it was still quite unpleasant and not something you want to see while dining. Overall, the experience fell short, and I wouldn’t be in a rush to return..

Horrible attitude from the waitress when I complained how long it took to get served the main dish. (1h15 minutes). Arrogant and rude. She walked away when I spoke to her. I didn't even leave a tip and usually I am a generous tipper. I have been here many times but this is the last time.

For the price, I definitely expected the food and drinks to be better. The atmosphere and service was probably what stood out the most to me.
The appetizers platters tasted ok at best. I expected more for the tasting platter but there really wasn't much for $24. The calamari was warm and didn't have too much seasoning to it ( I suppose it's because they were expecting the sauce to cover up for it?).
The cocktail I ordered tasted more like a fruity mocktail. The three Sake were definitely interesting. They all had their distinctive flavours and temperature which made the drinking experience more unique while eating.
The pokebowl was just very ordinary. The portion was decent but again nothing really stood out. The fish didn't taste all that fresh and again, It didn't have much flavour outside of the sauces.
The dessert was probably the best part of the meal. The key lime pie lime wasn't too sour and has a good hint of lime on each bite. The lava cake was chocolatey and smooth. I also ordered the black sesame icecream and thought it was pretty decent and had a good hint of sesame on each bite (considering how rare it is to actually find black sesame icecream in the first place).
One of the better highlights of Sesame was that they had really good service and the orders came in a timely manner.

Had a delicious dinner here. Comfortable dining area with option to dine on outdoor patio. They have a mix of pan Asian dishes and did everything well. They had meals for 2-4 but we ordered a few items off the regular menu apps, mains and desserts. We had a round of beautiful cocktails/sake flight and then ordered or my son first: the shrimp tempura and fried rice no protein. These were both outstanding; tempura was so crispy and drizzled with spicy and savory sauces - fried rice was savory & bold giving mild Pad Thai flavors topped with peanuts.
Mains started with the juicy Pork and kimchi dumplings; Crispy Orange beef; Salmon tartare with green salad dressed in a creamy sesame dressing; MIL ordered the sampler as main that included Papaya salad/Wontons/shrimp tempura/Vegetable spring rolls with fish sauce. Finished with desserts: green tea & black sesame ice cream and key lime pie.

Food was excellent but service was problematic.
Our waiter was nice however he appeared too busy to take care of us. The poke bowl arrived without chopsticks so I asked for some. I waited patiently while other members of my party were halfway through their meal when one my friends got up and grabbed some. We ran out of water. I asked 3 times before receiving a refilled jug.
The meal took over 2 hours because service was so slow.
In summary, I would go back because the food was very good, but perhaps on a less busy evening.

Great from start to finish. On line reservation was easy. We received a text a few hours before to confirm. We had the vegan dinner for 2 which included a soup, entre, rice, 3 main dishes and dessert for $46 each. Most of the dishes had a tofu theme. Food was tasty and had unique flavors which we hadn't had anywhere else. We had a nice bottle of Bordeaux wine with our dinner which cost $55. Service was good. We would definitely go back.

Was recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint. Despite the price being a bit hefty, the food is absolutely amazing. My favorite of them all was the crunchy salmon on lemon slices. It was unlike any eating experience I've ever had before- super flavorful (naturally) and refreshing!! The menu is quite extensive so take your time. Service is helpful and nice. Don't let the looks of the place fool you, it is so good!

My husband and I stumbled on this restaurant and the sushi did not disappoint! We got the chefs choice option and every single roll/sushi was absolutely delicious! The fish was so fresh and buttery soft. It is not all
you can eat but the pricing was reasonable for the amount of sushi you get. Will definitely be making another trip there soon!

I’ve been here a couple times and the food has been consistently delicious and fresh each time! I highly recommend the sushi and rolls, however, I found the poke bowls a bit overpriced for the portion size compared to what you can get at similar places; that’s the only reason this is a 4 star review and not a 5. But overall, this is a lovely place with great staff and very yummy food - I definitely recommend!
Charlie The cat - a year ago
Good sushi if you know what to get.
I had a bad experience my first time here: I was a bit stingy and I decided to get the cheapest set (12$) with rolls picked by the chef. Sadly I got mostly cucumber and avocado filled rolls.
However I decided to give it a second try and got the Seattle roll and Nagoya pizza for around 30$. Both were good! The Seattle roll was flavorful and the Nagoya pizza’s rice was hot and crispy. Both were very filling!
I wouldn’t say it’s authentic sushi but it definitely hits the spot. For around 20$ you could get something good, just don’t expect to have a meal for less than 15$ like I did :’)

I had a great experience at Eggspectation. It’s a stylish, trendy place with a very pleasant atmosphere.

Tiamo was disappointing. The atmosphere and food were actually quite nice. It has a very chic, elegant vibe when you walk in.
The reason why I'd give it 2 stars, though, was because of two things. One, the portion sized were just way too small for the price that I was paying. And two, the service was absolutely terrible.
After ordering an appetizer and a main, I expected to be quite full. But I was actually still hungry. This, to me, indicates that the portion sizes were just not that large.
The service seemed okay at the beginning. Gave recommendations and took our orders fine. But by the end of the meal, everyone only had one glass of water. A small group came in, too, and was waiting to be seated only to look around and find nobody. No one was there to seat them, nor to give us water.
Overall, I won't be coming back. I expect to be treated better for that price.
Joellyne Evaristo - 8 months ago
The atmosphere here is undeniable. It is a hidden gem in this area. The food overall was great. The beet carpaccio was a pleasant surprise. My flank steak was a little too salty for my liking, and I was left to eat it with a butter knife. The server didn't come back during the meal to ask if we needed anything and we couldn't get their attention since the place was a little busy. Overall a great experience that can only improve with a little more attention to the patrons.

Tiamo is a great choice if you’re craving well-prepared Italian cuisine, especially wood-fired pizzas and classic pastas, in a warm, chic atmosphere. Perfect for date nights, family dinners, or weekend brunch. For larger groups, consider booking in advance and be aware of plate size expectations.
⸻
🔧 Tips Before You Go
• Book in advance, especially for dinner; brunch is walk-in only.
• Go for the pizzas, which are freshly fried daily.
• Some dishes may be standard sized for the price – sharing is smart.
• Check out their extensive wine list and cocktail menu at the bar.
Nelia Voitsykhiv - 7 months ago
We hesitated a bit about this restaurant because of the 4.2 rating… but, ultimately, decided to give it a try because it was more conveniently located than another we considered.
The atmosphere is a bit younger than is suitable for us, being, on average, over 60. There was a DJ. I think that covers it.
But the service was excellent, and the food was exceptional. Maybe Montreal has a biased scale, being a cosmopolitan city. I'm just from Boulder, Colorado, a place previously considered to be "foodie."
We sat at the bar. Sort of like a chef's table. It was fun watching the young fellow making the pizzas and managing them in the wood-fired pizza oven.
I had a Tiamo salad, the sausage rigatoni, and a chocolate mousse. All were delicious. The salad was larger than I expected; the rigatoni perhaps a bit smaller, but really just the right size; and the mousse was fantastic! It was light and wonderful. I hope I can sleep after that.
You should try this place. Don't be fooled by the 4.2.
Also, the total expense included a couple drinks (each) and a bottle of wine, in case you're looking at the budget.
Chuck Lawhead - 8 months ago
Booked a reservation and they are fairly accommodating to our group of 7 with dining upstairs and down stairs. Very aesthetic and cute for photos (lots of mirrors). There is loud music but the playlist was good. Cocktails and wines good, well priced as well. 3 courses and cocktails won’t run you up a ridiculous amount.
-Food-
Appetizers: Meatballs are a little dry but seasoned very nicely and have a good taste, octopus very forgettable
Mains: The rosé rigatoni and sausage was one of the best options, good sauce but not a lot of sausage. Ragu veal pasta good but nothing extremely wow. Duck linguine had a fake bacon taste. Will not be coming back for the pastas. All dishes came out pipping hot!!!
Deserts: DELICIOUS and the best part of our experience. Even if you don’t traditionally like chocolate mousse, like me, i still suggest giving this one a try. The chef creates a decadent twist to this desert and it was AMAZING. The tiramisu creme was so delicious. At the time of our visit, the desert of the day was cheesecake. Super creamy and light, maybe just missing a couli.
-Service-
The food runners seemed very young and
confused, not dressed well, and basically slammed the plates on the table. Water was very scarce and wasn’t refilled. Old plates stayed on the table even if second courses had come. Wine glasses weren’t very shiny and unused ones weren’t cleared from the table even if we didn’t have much space. Minimal knowledge of the menu. We were not informed of any last calls for the bar and couldn’t order more. They were definitely pushing for us to pay quickly and leave even if we hadn’t ordered desert yet. The waiter was still sweet all things considered.

This place is such a cozy spot to hang out with friends or family. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, perfect for a casual meal or weekend brunch. Most main dishes are under $30, which is a pretty good deal considering how fresh everything tastes. We tried the pizza of the day, the poached eggs with mushrooms, and the gazpacho with fish — all were delicious and full of flavor. One thing to note is that the menu changes often, so you might not find the same pizza or other brunch dish on your next visit. But honestly, that’s part of the fun — there’s always something new to try.

Took 20 minutes for a server to ask what we would like to drink. If we had to wait another 5-10 min, I would have left.
The pizza was pretty good, however the crust was a little soggy. I wish there was a little more cheese on the pizzas. I understand the style they want to go for but it feels like it's not enough.
Staff was friendly.

Best restaurant we visited in Montreal! 🍕 We had the White Margherita, roasted chicken pizza, and beetroot salad—everything was fresh and flavourful. The chicken pizza had a unique Greek twist, and the beet salad with peaches + cayenne habanero vinaigrette was unforgettable. Cozy interior, friendly staff, and clearly a local favorite. Portions are reasonable, but you’ll want more than one pizza if you’re hungry. Definitely worth reserving a table!

We had a great experience at Cafe Parvis. The food was delicious and unexpected. The patio was dog friendly which is perfect for us. Drinks were smaller than other places but flavour was on point.

Beautiful place. I teresting takes on dishes.
Green salad was amazing, but SUPER vinaigretty and salty, which I loved but might not be for everybody.
Pizza wasn't great... But then again, that's on us for ordering a pizza at a non-pizza establishment
Beigne aux fraises was FANTASTIC, haven't had such a special item in a while.
So overall, amazing atmosphere (love it when I have the urge to move into a restaurant), very volatile quality of food, great service.
