The service is amazing and very attentive.. cutlery are changed after every course, that's something you find see in many places these days.
Food presentation was great, every course looks like an art piece and tasted perfectly balanced.
Definitely a place to check out in Montreal.

8-course tasting was delicious start to end, no misses.
The beef tartare was a big surprise for me and my husband. The addition of clam and kimchi really made that memorable.
The duck, will be dreaming of it, love the addition of rhubarb, oh and that duck wonton!
The crab, the white asparagus - such great flavor pairings on the plate.
Highly recommend!

I came to be inspired as a chef, and I can tell you that I left with much more than inspiration. The experience was truly beyond this world. The passion of everyone who works there is incredible—you can see the dedication, artistry, and constant pursuit of excellence in every detail. They don't just create; they refine, improve, and elevate their craft every single day. It was an unforgettable experience that left a lasting impression on me.
I can confidently say that this is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, restaurants in Montreal. I am already looking forward to coming back.

Started with the Umami Tsunami, clever name, nice East Asian inspired martini in a unique long stem glass.
Bread was cold, not even room temperature, more fresh out of the fridge. It was good quality though.
I had the veal tartare with sea urchin to start. It was tasty with the little cracker on top but pretty salty.
My friend had the sashimi with the shrimp crackers. I'm not a fan of grapefruit so I can't judge but my friend liked it.
I enjoyed my escargot ravioli, but still a little hard on the salt.
My friend was a little disappointed in his duck dish. Though the flavour was there, the Bao bun was charged and had no vegetables to balance it, the sausage was incredibly salty, the magret was a little tough.
We liked our server, she gave me a nice wine recommendation and explained a couple of things on the menu, but the menu was so basic that we didn't know what we were ordering because each description was just a list 4 ingredients and we shouldn't have to ask about each dish.
Mignardises were a nice and varied selection to finish.
Espresso Martini was simple and basic, nothing wrong just don't expect a signature twist or even a coffee bean accent.
Pretty place, unassuming from the outside. Not sure why they leave a portion of the curtain open so I can see the big neon fast food sign across the street.

A quaint spot on Sainte Catherine. A bit gritty, ok for a quick meal if you crave a bowl of pho, not the most memorable, just a one off. The portion is slightly smaller than average pho bowls but prices are less, accordingly. The menu has lots of other dishes including dessert. Good location, convenient for patrons staying at one of many hotels one street over on Rene Levesque. Like most food places in Montreal it only opens at 11am onwards. No breakfast hours.

We passed in front of this restaurant quite a few times as we live nearby. we were looking for something different to eat so we decided to give it a try. Actually Lia had already been with some colleagues from her previous employment.
The interior decor is quite simple, the menu heavily favours combo options . We decided to go with the crispy chicken and rice as well as the pho. Service was OK. We kind of wish that we felt more welcome.
Accessing the restaurant by foot is quite easy. Parking is a different story. if you’re lucky you may find street parking on Saint Catherine St. otherwise there are a few parking lots available in the area.

Some of the best Pho I've had in Montreal in a family-style restaurant. Service is excellent, courteous and fast. Appetizers are small, bite-sized, perfect while waiting for your massive soup without wasting your appetite. The Phō broth was not outstanding but good, complex and balanced. The meat toppings were well prepared, I'd recommend the raw beef which was particularly good. I can't believe I ordered desert after all this food, but I didn't regrets it that banana donut was delicious! The neighborhood is not great, but the food is good and the service is great. Would recommend!

I cannot believe I did not try this place before. The owner is such a good host. Second generation. Passionate.Food is perfect. Freshness , quality, taste. Everything was excellent. It felt like in Vietnam. Now my favorite Vietnam in Montreal. Good atmosphere too. I strongly recommend.

I have been looking forward to go back since Covid, as it remained close and only started to be open for 3 days a week recently.
We had the 7 Beef course set meal and it was better than I remembered. Given the price went up, but generally dining out got expensive due to many factors.
If you have not try their specialties 7 beef courses meal, it is a must try next time you come here!!

It's a downtown delight that not only offers a stellar service and chic ambience but also surprises with its reasonable prices. The attentive staff, sporting smiles, made us feel truly welcome. The sommelier ensured our glasses were never empty. The seafood stir fry served on trendy dinnerware was spot on. We loved the stylish, softly lit vibe - it was the perfect backdrop for an intimate evening. It's the perfect spot to enjoy an early dinner before heading to an event in the vicinity.

It was such an amazing experience to try the 7 course beef, $90/2 persons. We also ordered the grilled calamari, the side sauce was super spicy 🥵

Couldn't recommend it more. Beautiful restaurant serving amazing, authentic food and run by a kind Vietnamese family. A great place to expand your experience with Vietnamese cuisine - try the 7 beef specialty and the chao tom, grilled shrimp wrapped around sugarcane. Everything was super fresh, the meats were cooked perfectly and the flavour was to die for. The traditional components of the dishes e.g. fish sauce and bun (vermicelli) were spot on, while they also put their own stamp on other components. Very reasonable for the quality and level of service.

I took in the improv night with my friend who uses a wheelchair. It was a lot of fun, they have a ramp ready for the main entrance and made every accommodation to make us feel welcome.
It's a real gem of a venue with great staff and a fun community.

I was actually going for dinner and passing my this place and found this vibrant place! I stopped by as was curious to find out about this place and understood that there’s a improv play in the next 10 mins. I seemed interesting and decided to stay back( cancelled dinner plans) and must say it was fun experience! The improv artists were amazing with great acting( improv) ..I got to meet some artists( who do this part time/ hobby) and very humble and talented bunch of people.. Cafe was nice too with good options and some great cocktails too..
Highly recommended to visit for the overall package - plays/ performances/people and cafe.. excellent vibes ..

Don't be fooled by the name "theatre", it's mainly a cafe during the day and is an excellent place to laptop. If you're roaming in this part of town, this is the best cafe you will find. If you compare it with other cafes across Montreal, it is unique in its association with theatre, mainly improv, which keeps the good vibes flowing. Friendly staff, good lunch food options and coffee.

Tried the poutine at Montréal Pool Room and we were blown away by how packed with flavor the gravy was rich, savory, and loaded with sweet onion notes. Simple food done extremely well. The atmosphere is divey but full of charm and character. Cash only, but there’s an ATM inside, which makes it easy. A classic spot that’s absolutely worth a stop.
Cole Riel - 5 months ago
Great poutine in a great establishment. The gravy is super flavourful and the fries are crispy and delicious. This restaurant has a bunch of history and proudly displays it on the walls, it’s not everyday you get poutine from a 100 year old restaurant. Overall, a great poutine for anyone searching for an authentic poutine.

No pool tables, but damn good hot dogs!
Cash only — they’ll take U.S. dollars at a 1:1 exchange rate, so you’re better off paying in Canadian.
The menu is simple and classic: choose between cucumber relish, mustard, or sauerkraut. Ketchup? It’s self-serve on the counter once you get your order.
But the real surprise? The buns — soft, chewy, and perfectly steamed — they might be even better than the dogs themselves. A no-frills gem that delivers exactly what it promises.
Mike Bergin - a year ago
Amazing place for your first "steamies" experience. This place has been a staple of downtown Montréal since 1912 and has a lot of history. Would recommend, they were delicious!! "Loaded" is the only way to go!!

Stopped in for some quality poutine and it didn't disappoint in that regard. The ambiance is definitely old-school - as unfancy as it gets on a decidedly unfancy block. Cash only. Probably jumps later in the evening after drinking time, but during the afternoon felt a bit depressing.

Looked for a restaurant with outdoor seating on a warm Montreal night, just before a concert at Place Des Arts. Was so happy we stumbled upon this place! We only had 45 mins before we had to leave and we got served our drinks, salad, and main course with plenty of time to spare. My wife had the trout with a pineapple inspired salsa and I had slow cooked beef in pepper sauce that just melted in your mouth. Food was great, service was great, and the price was great. Where can you get a "table d'hote" for 32$ these days?
Stefan Mizera - 3 weeks ago
We had a pleasant experience overall. The white wine was nice, and the portions were impressively large. The food itself was fresh and absolutely incredible — definitely the highlight of the night.
That said, there were a few things that could be improved. Our waitress disappeared for about 10–15 minutes to chat with friends, and it took around 25–30 minutes before anyone took our order. Thankfully, we weren't in a rush, so it didn’t ruin the experience.
The layout could also use some work — tables felt randomly placed, and the restroom was located all the way down a long hallway, quite far from the main dining area.
Still, the food made up for it, and I’d come back for the taste alone. ❤️❤️

Got this late night with uber eats and warning others not to waste their money. All food was basically leftovers. Only thing fresh was the salad. The meat was minced because it was all leftover. The potatoes cold and hard. The pilaf was very old and hard and dry. The extra chicken pictured was about 2.5 ounces of nothing. Do not order after 10pm from here.
Benny Sanchez - 6 months ago
I ordered the crispy mixed shawarma bowl and it was solid overall. The chicken & beef had good flavor with some crispy bits, the potatoes were filling, and the sauces were generous and creamy. The bowl is definitely meat-and-carb forward, so it can feel a bit heavy, but everything tastes good together once mixed. A reliable choice when you want something filling and comforting.
Mikail - 6 months ago
It would be a 5 star if they got the order right every time. Great Lebanese food, it's nearly as good as before Boustan became a chain. Located perfectly in downtown Montreal this place is great for a quick filling delicious meal. A bit on the pricey side considering but worth it flavor wise.
Make sure to get the garlic sauce with your potatoes, it's great!

They run a lunch offer on a smash + fries for 10$. Unbeatable price and very tasty. I recently tried their cheesesteak sandwich, in my opinion one of the best and most authentic in town. Friendly hardworking staff 👍

Cheese was mediocre, gravy was okay but too overpowering, not that much meats. Overall disappointing, better poutine options even inside le central.

Food was okay. But for 45 dollars after tip, I should have gone to Harvey's. 1 trio and a chicken burger shouldn't be this pricy. The breaded chicken for the chicken burger was so thin. It looked like it was bought from the frozen section of a grocery store. I do approve of their french fries. It's crispy and well fried. Their cheeseburger was nothing special. For the atmosphere, we had several house flies buzzing about.

The fries tasted bad in my opinion. Gravy was quite flavourless. But the cheese curds were soooo good and good amount. We got the Bacon Mac and Cheese - bacon was great and the mac and cheese bites were fun but didn’t have much flavour either. Price was quite high for the amount of food

I’ve had the privilege of enjoying Indian cuisine across many countries, and this restaurant easily ranks among the very best. My colleagues and I had an outstanding experience from start to finish. A special thank you to the owner/chef for taking the time to speak with us personally and for the excellent recommendations — they truly made the meal memorable. 🙏

Amazing food from amazing people. After living in Montreal for 10 years, this is the best Indian food (and one of the best restaurants) I’ve tried in the city. Michelin star service and food for a fraction of the price.
Spices in the curries are mixed in a layered and thoughtful fashion. Naan is to die for. Let yourself be guided by the chef - who talked to every table individually and checked in multiple times during the evening.
I can see myself going back every month to this magical place!

love love LOVEEEEE.
first of all, the vibes, so aesthetic, so cozy, very charming and subtly refined. real candles, dimmed lights, and authentic silverware.
secondly, the price point, very reasonable considering that you end up sharing a variety of dishes with a friend or a group of people. thirdly and most importantly, the food (and drinks): beyond speechless… we started off with the mango lasi and chicken skewers which took us by surprise because the flavours were out of this world, then we ordered the shahi paneer + lamb masala (with coconut milk reduction$ with rice and naan: such an appropriate and daring level of spices where the flavours just simply melt in your tongue like a symphony.
highly recommend. 100/10. such a hidden gem!

What a delight this restaurant is! Chef Simar visited us at the table over dinner before taking our order, and even checked on us after preparing our meal. The garlic naan was to die for; every curry and dish we had was painstakingly made lactose-free for us, and we couldn't be more pleased. The Patialo Sunrise was delectable; the Ambala Whiskey Sour delicious. Please come support this excellent business!

Not really good. Admittedly they were understaffed. Food was OK, nothing special. Service was bad because only two people working. You cab tell it is not well run. They have a beautiful bar that they use as a service station. Dirty dishes all over it, unsightly and unorganized. Small restaurant that does not need that much room for dishes. Small menu and 2 servers should be more than adequate but they were in all over the place. They need help

My husband and I recently visited this restaurant and, while the service was good, the food left a lot to be desired. We ordered the Parmigiana meal and a pepperoni pizza, but unfortunately, neither dish impressed us. The portions were generous, but the quality didn’t match. The pizza was just average—nothing particularly memorable. The Parmigiana however, was quite disappointing. It was extremely thin, greasy, and lacked the comforting, hearty texture you’d expect. I ended up eating just the pasta that came with it, which says a lot. Overall, despite the friendly service, the food simply didn’t deliver, and I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant based on our experience.

Nastya Os - 10 months ago
My parents used to take me here when I was a little girl. While the food is still good, something about the atmosphere just isn’t the same since they moved. It used to feel like walking into a big family dinner, with warmth, energy, and that old-school Italian charm. I remember the cook in the windows making sauces and spaghetti for all the passersby to see! It was so unique. Now, it feels a little too polished, a little too impersonal—with the TV screens and the decor that’s just like every other restaurant. It’s lost the essence of what made it special.
Another disappointment was the misleading website. The pictures show pizzas that aren’t even on the menu, which was frustrating when we sat down expecting to order something that simply wasn’t available. It left the impression that either the menu had been changed without updating the site, or the images were just for show. Don’t call it a Margherita pizza when it isn’t.
Overall, if you’re just here for a meal, the food still delivers. But if you’re looking for that nostalgic Da Giovanni experience, you might leave feeling like something’s missing.
