The eight-course menu was absolutely delicious. Our regret was not starting with the wine pairing from the beginning. Halfway through, we realised the food was so good that it would have been a shame to have it without wine, so we added the pairing then. The wines themselves were not particularly outstanding tho. Additionally, there was a performance outside that was a bit too loud, which slightly disrupted the otherwise wonderful experience.

We booked a table ahead. We were a group of three.
We all ordered the 8 course tasting menu. I also ordered the 7 discovery pairings. The 8 course tasting menu was supposed to be for people who came after 8pm but they made it available for us even though we were there quite early (5.30pm).
Absolutely loved each course! They all have rich flavors. The mushrooms were really tasty, with the right amount of crispy. Among the first five courses, scallop and quail were my favorite. For dessert, the cucumber ice cream was really refreshing. Definitely recommend! For the discovery tasting, I love the last ice cider the best. Fruity flavor but not too sweet. Perfect balance

Bravo! This was the best upscale food of this Montreal trip (that included stops at Europea, Mon Lapin, and Joe Beef). Flavours are well balanced and excite the palate. This is clearly a kitchen that can execute well, though I feel the food was slightly better at their old location.
Holding them back from getting a Michelin star is the decor, single bread choice, bland butter, no proper amuse, way-too-many-things-going-on dessert, and nothing to take home (like a loaf of fancy bread) after the meal - although perhaps that’s because ordered the dinner menu at lunchtime.
John Pereira - 2 months ago
I tried their 5 course menu so the review is based on this experience alone: the dessert was absolutely amazing, every flavor and different textures go great together and taste amazing alone. But the rest was just meh. To be fair the ingredients were good and the chef put thought into the dishes. However the taste was just not as impressive. Not my cup of tea. Except from the dessert. If I ever go back it’s definitely because of the dessert. (Btw the restaurant is very low key and is a bit hard to find if you use google map. I suggest don’t go further since there was a crazy person harassing every passersby in the crossing nearby.)

Bouillon Bilk is a beautiful fine dining spot in downtown Montreal with a modern and elegant interior design. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxed and upscale meal.
We highly recommend making a reservation in advance, as it’s a popular spot. While they offer a tasting menu, we weren’t too hungry, so we ordered one appetizer and one main course each and both were absolutely delicious.
A great place for a refined dining experience in the city.

Quick service, I recommend the beef with vegetables. I did not like the porc from the porc and vermicelli dish, it was dry. Huge menu with many options.

We passed in front of this restaurant quite a few times as we live nearby. we were looking for something different to eat so we decided to give it a try. Actually Lia had already been with some colleagues from her previous employment.
The interior decor is quite simple, the menu heavily favours combo options . We decided to go with the crispy chicken and rice as well as the pho. Service was OK. We kind of wish that we felt more welcome.
Accessing the restaurant by foot is quite easy. Parking is a different story. if you’re lucky you may find street parking on Saint Catherine St. otherwise there are a few parking lots available in the area.

The staff was friendly and the service was fast. Our soup arrive fresh and hot. It’s a family restaurant, very original Vietnamese pho restaurant. Our orders come with free hot tea. There’s only street parking. They accept cash and credit.

I was highly impressed with the quality of the food. The vietnamese pork chop with white rice was pretty good. The runny fried egg really adds this authentic feel to it. The fried banana was just ok. The service was a little bit slow as the place was packed with customers going in and out at a good pace.

Some of the best Pho I've had in Montreal in a family-style restaurant. Service is excellent, courteous and fast. Appetizers are small, bite-sized, perfect while waiting for your massive soup without wasting your appetite. The Phō broth was not outstanding but good, complex and balanced. The meat toppings were well prepared, I'd recommend the raw beef which was particularly good. I can't believe I ordered desert after all this food, but I didn't regrets it that banana donut was delicious! The neighborhood is not great, but the food is good and the service is great. Would recommend!

I have been looking forward to go back since Covid, as it remained close and only started to be open for 3 days a week recently.
We had the 7 Beef course set meal and it was better than I remembered. Given the price went up, but generally dining out got expensive due to many factors.
If you have not try their specialties 7 beef courses meal, it is a must try next time you come here!!

It was such an amazing experience to try the 7 course beef, $90/2 persons. We also ordered the grilled calamari, the side sauce was super spicy 🥵

It's a downtown delight that not only offers a stellar service and chic ambience but also surprises with its reasonable prices. The attentive staff, sporting smiles, made us feel truly welcome. The sommelier ensured our glasses were never empty. The seafood stir fry served on trendy dinnerware was spot on. We loved the stylish, softly lit vibe - it was the perfect backdrop for an intimate evening. It's the perfect spot to enjoy an early dinner before heading to an event in the vicinity.

Couldn't recommend it more. Beautiful restaurant serving amazing, authentic food and run by a kind Vietnamese family. A great place to expand your experience with Vietnamese cuisine - try the 7 beef specialty and the chao tom, grilled shrimp wrapped around sugarcane. Everything was super fresh, the meats were cooked perfectly and the flavour was to die for. The traditional components of the dishes e.g. fish sauce and bun (vermicelli) were spot on, while they also put their own stamp on other components. Very reasonable for the quality and level of service.

I took in the improv night with my friend who uses a wheelchair. It was a lot of fun, they have a ramp ready for the main entrance and made every accommodation to make us feel welcome.
It's a real gem of a venue with great staff and a fun community.

I was actually going for dinner and passing my this place and found this vibrant place! I stopped by as was curious to find out about this place and understood that there’s a improv play in the next 10 mins. I seemed interesting and decided to stay back( cancelled dinner plans) and must say it was fun experience! The improv artists were amazing with great acting( improv) ..I got to meet some artists( who do this part time/ hobby) and very humble and talented bunch of people.. Cafe was nice too with good options and some great cocktails too..
Highly recommended to visit for the overall package - plays/ performances/people and cafe.. excellent vibes ..

No pool tables, but damn good hot dogs!
Cash only — they’ll take U.S. dollars at a 1:1 exchange rate, so you’re better off paying in Canadian.
The menu is simple and classic: choose between cucumber relish, mustard, or sauerkraut. Ketchup? It’s self-serve on the counter once you get your order.
But the real surprise? The buns — soft, chewy, and perfectly steamed — they might be even better than the dogs themselves. A no-frills gem that delivers exactly what it promises.

Love the steamed hot dogs! Fries were crispy.
Amazing for some drunken food. Excellent service.

Full load dogs are delish and the poutine is killer good.
Place was clean and staff was friendly.
Neighborhood was a bit gritty but made for a better wander to the place.

We had a pleasant experience overall. The white wine was nice, and the portions were impressively large. The food itself was fresh and absolutely incredible — definitely the highlight of the night.
That said, there were a few things that could be improved. Our waitress disappeared for about 10–15 minutes to chat with friends, and it took around 25–30 minutes before anyone took our order. Thankfully, we weren't in a rush, so it didn’t ruin the experience.
The layout could also use some work — tables felt randomly placed, and the restroom was located all the way down a long hallway, quite far from the main dining area.
Still, the food made up for it, and I’d come back for the taste alone. ❤️❤️

Have only been in Montreal 4 days but eating out every day and to be honest til this restaurant have been disappointed by bland offerings, especially the vegetarian options. However the meal we had here was great. Delicious fresh salads with tasty dressing and penne with ricotta and Gorgonzola was super tasty. Portion size is also generous and the staff, though very overworked when we were there, are friendly and helpful. They could do with one more waiting on staff. Other than that, great food that is highly recommend.

The fries tasted bad in my opinion. Gravy was quite flavourless. But the cheese curds were soooo good and good amount. We got the Bacon Mac and Cheese - bacon was great and the mac and cheese bites were fun but didn’t have much flavour either. Price was quite high for the amount of food

Food was okay. But for 45 dollars after tip, I should have gone to Harvey's. 1 trio and a chicken burger shouldn't be this pricy. The breaded chicken for the chicken burger was so thin. It looked like it was bought from the frozen section of a grocery store. I do approve of their french fries. It's crispy and well fried. Their cheeseburger was nothing special. For the atmosphere, we had several house flies buzzing about.

I was at an event over the weekend.
Dear staff and owner, you folks showed up with fat in your deepfryer that should have been changed the last time the truck was used.
Service was good but the food was pretty gross.
Answer to the owner/staff.
The food tasted of old/spent oil and past it's life span use.
the truck we had was the burger truck I beleive. There was a small marking on the front passenger fender refering to somewhere in Laval.
The event was held for supper at Le Manège militaire de Salabery, 2100 Boul. le Carrefour, Laval, QC H7S 2M7.
I guess someone stole your truck that day to come and do supper for us and returned the truck afterwards.

We had the most incredible meal at Darbar last night. We are on holidays from Ireland and Darbar was highly recommended to us in Toronto and it certainly lived up to our expectations and more!!
We were welcomed by Simar, the chef & owner, and he took time to chat with us about our preferences, spice, proteins etc. He went on to recommend dishes for each of us and they were all amazing. We had Lamb Saag, Shrimp Korma & Chicken Rogan Josh. The intensity of flavour in the sauces was spectacular. Simar checked back a few times to ensure everything ok with our meal. The Naan bread was really delicious and crispy too. We ordered cocktails and they were unusual and fantastic in equal measure!! A few Cobras with our meal and the 3 of us were full and satisfied!!
Thanks to our waiter Prée who was very friendly, warm & helpful.
Overall we had a fantastic experience at Darbar. It was the best Indian meal we've eaten and the whole experience was very special from start to finish.
Thanks a million Simar & team Darbar - you run a great show and you deserve all the luck in the world. 🍀

Darbar is a wonderful family-run restaurant that truly cares for its customers. You feel it in the warm hospitality and the consistently excellent food.
The entire team—both in the kitchen and at the front—was kind, attentive, and really knew what to recommend to enhance our experience.
We started with the murg malai, served in a sizzling pot—such a unique and fun presentation! The seekh kebab was beautifully plated, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The yogurt sauce with the kebabs was light and refreshing, while the spices in the murg malai built up to a deep, flavourful finish.
For our mains, we had the chicken jalfrezie and the nihari lamb. Paired with their crispy, doughy butter naan, the lamb was one of the best bites I’ve ever had. I literally had to close my eyes to take it in.
We ended with two orders of gulab jamun because my wife loved the first so much—she said it tasted just like her grandmother’s, and we couldn’t leave without having another.

After 14 years, we've come back to Darbar, and were delighted to see it's as wonderful as ever. 14 years ago, the father who opened the restaurant was the ever-warm presence of conversation, who went into the back to cook as well. Today, his son has taken over that role, and excels in both as well as his father did. Super friendly and kind, asked how we liked our food, and made it deliciously spicy as we requested (even altering the Thali to make sure the dish my wife wanted could reach the heat she was hoping for). It was really just an awesome experience period.
We started with their pakora/samosa starter, which were fried perfectly and had very good chutneys, then we did one veg and one non-veg thali, all dishes in both were fantastic.
The restaurant has a nice modern Indian vibe, clean and well maintained.
Highly recommend if you're in Montreal and craving Indian!

The restaurant had great dining atmosphere and the food was outstanding with a capital O. But what took the restaurant to a new level of classification that cannot be scored on any review is the chef and staff wanting to learn the perspective of their customers to personalize the dining experience. That took the restaurant to what I think is beyond a Michelin Star category.

An amazing experience- from the friendly and attentive staff to the superb food, we couldn’t have asked for me. The restaurant was cozy, casual and felt local.
