Giving it 3 stars because food was really not good for my liking. Everything just tasted soooo blend, no savoury taste. Tartare was really not good, whatever sauce they made it with, needs to be changed and enhanced. The bread that came with it tasted like Nothing… like i thought maybe that would have tasted good but nope. The salad was meh. Just the fact that all 4 of us on the table disliked our meal makes me not want to go back but.. never know. Maybe a 2nd chance is worth it. Place itself looks great, love the decor. Also our service was excellent, our waitress made sure everything and everyone was well served. We also had a complicated order due to allergies but with great service, it made everything smooth and pleasant. I don’t have an opinion on recommending, but it’s definitely not for my taste buds.

Came here for brunch with 13 ladies on a bach party and it was perfect!! Food was amazing and the staff was really nice. I couldn’t recommend this enough, especially if you are looking for an option for a larger group! They were so accommodating.

I wish I could give ten stars. The food - PHENOMENAL. Everyone that sings the praises of the french toast is so right. It’s unlike any french toast you’ve ever had. Do not miss ordering it. The beef tartare was divine, with phenomenal flavor and decadent texture. My husband loved the cold zucchini soup and the skate entree. The flavors are tremendous throughout the whole meal. We had an incredible waiter, Jean-Phillipe, who recommended an excellent local wine and brought me a sparkler with the best cotton candy I’ve ever had for my birthday. The hostess was also so kind and showed my husband where to pay for parking. I wish I wasn’t here visiting so I could come back often!

Quintessential brunch spot in one of Montreal’s best food neighbourhood. Started with the pitcher of lobster bisque and it was perfectly creamy and bursting with umami. Beef tartare is bursting with a combination of flavours; that pure beefy taste with some chew, combined with the creaminess of the mayo and egg yolk. Capers add an extra burst of brininess. Got a side of the thick cut bacon as well, which was so crispy and melty. Overall vibe was fantastic too. Their outdoor patio is well designed with its own deck and adorned with hanging plants and planters. Very attentive service too.

Small, uncrowded neighborhood bistro off the beaten tourist path. If I could give more than five stars, I would. I have never had better service before. And if I had better food before, I don't remember. We had mushroom marmalade and beef tartare tartelet, duck, pork shoulder, and shrimp salad. Each one was excellent. Service was personal, attentive, and perfect in all ways. If I ever come back to Montreal, this is where I will be going for dinner first.

Brought my golden retriever Hugo along on a Tuesday evening and was thrilled to find a few outdoor tables where dogs are totally welcome. The staff were genuinely warm, even bringing Hugo a little bowl of water without us asking. I ordered the croque monsieur and it was exactly the kind of comfort food you want after a long day, rich and perfectly toasted. If you have a dog and are looking for a relaxed spot in the Plateau, this place is an easy yes.

Service is warm, friendly and efficient. Food is very good and at a very affordable price. We choose from the "table d'hôte" options which included many options of appetizers and as many main course. Everything was perfect and the portions were very generous. We will definitely return.

Delicious food and outstanding service! I was fairly impressed by how simple and still tasty the dishes were. I took a salad and a dessert, and both were copious, well-prepared, and had great presentation. Also, the service was great and super quick! Definitely coming back if I happen to be in the area.

It appears from other reviews that service is unpredictable at times. Our head waiter was actually outstanding and attentive and very professional. He was friendly and made wonderful suggestions. We have fell apart was that any other server that assisted paid no attention to his seat assignments and had to verbally call out over and over again what the dishes were so we constantly had to figure out who had what. The food though was outstanding in we loved every single part of the meal including desert and would certainly come back again. We had a table on the patio and the weather was so nice we absolutely enjoyed the ambiance. Merci!

Great bistro. Lovely atmosphere, old school charm. Good-sized menu and prepared perfectly. Its worth going to for the true French bistro experience. The terrace is wrapped around and you don’t feel like a passing car might hit you (i.e. not IN the damned street…. Why do people like eating with car exhaust fumes in the air??). Only negatives were the wet/dirty terrace chairs and the occasional long wait for service.

Wow! Incredible stay at Hotel Kutuma. Service for the hotel was top notch. Adam at the front desk was so lovely. Do not miss out on the restaurant. The food is beautifully presented and delicious. Would stay again for sure!

Best Ethiopian food (and Ethiopian restaurant experience) that I ever had! The interior is very chic and modern, with food very artfully arranged on the platters. We had the tasting menu for two, and it was just the right amount to feel the right amount of full. We enjoyed a bottle of South African wine, which we did not have a chance to try before, and it made for a lovely pairing. Staff was excellent and attentive; no problem at all not being able to speak very good French. We felt like guests rather than customers. If we were local, this would be a regular spot for us. Next time we are in Montreal, we will be back.

The food was delicious and the decor exceptional. It looks like small portions but overall it was kind of ok. Beware though, we had and entrée of Chicken Sambusa and it was only 2 pieces for 10$. Service was impeccable!!

Great restaurant to discover Ethiopian food through their discovery menu in a more formal setting. The waiter took in our spice tolerance levels into account and subbed the spicier items on the menu (berbere chicken) with a less spicy protein option. It was very tolerable, and so he welcomed us to come back and try the chicken versions next time. They have a vegetarian friendly menu and the waiter explains everything that's on our plates, from a meat tartar, lamb stews, sautéed beef, salads and lentils/pea options. All served on a platters with traditional sourgum "crepe". Enjoy the meal eating eith your hands, or ask for utensils if that's what you prefer. The shared meal was very filling. Dessert options were more "western" and rich: chocolate-passion fruit mousse cake, chocolate and pecan cake, lemon & matcha tart or a coconut and white chocolate square.

Stopped by this neat place for some coffee because of a strawberries pie sign :) it turned out to be a fresh bakery with coffee, fresh pastries, pies and a few other sweet things. Great staff, very helpful and friendly. Both our cold and hot coffees were good, so we're the pastries. It's not a cafe per se, it has no proper seating, but I'd come back for the bread, it looks really good!

Amazing croissants and friendly staff! They have a wide variety of breads and pastries, and everything looked so good! The only thing I'd say is that I wish there had been a little more space to sit and eat. That said, I really enjoyed choosing from all the lovely pastries!

Self-served bakery with great variety of freshly baked croissants and bread. They’d toast them for you if asked. We got classic croissant, oh mon dieu, chocolatine, olive bread and croissantella. The croissant variety were all super flaky, buttery and perfectly fluffy on the inside. The croissantella takes the cake though. Even not toasted it was super flaky. 10/10 would recommend. There’s no seating inside but there’s a park nearby to sit and enjoy the baked goods.

I visited Mamie Clafoutis last Saturday and everything we tried was delicious! We bought some amazing sugar-covered pastries and the meringues were absolutely incredible — light, sweet, and honestly some of the best I’ve had. The bakery smells amazing when you walk in, and you can tell everything is fresh. I would say it feels more like a bakery than a café — even though they do sell coffee and have a couple of small tables inside, the space doesn’t really invite you to stay there for long. We were a group of 5, and there wasn’t enough room for us to sit comfortably, so we ended up just taking everything to go. Still, the quality of the pastries made it completely worth it, and I’ll definitely be coming back!

Really enjoyed my chocolatine from here. The pastry was nice and flaky and had a good amount of chocolate. I appreciated the fact that they open early at 7 am, so I was able to grab breakfast before catching my train.

Absolutely loved this place! The food was authentic, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The paella was rich and perfectly cooked, and the tapas were amazing for sharing. The atmosphere felt warm and lively, with great music and cozy Spanish vibes. Staff were friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. We visited Casa Galicia on a Tuesday night. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. The paella was fresh, and the fillet mignon was done perfectly. Bonus points for the delicious pepper sauce! We will be coming back to try the flamenco nights!

Had a lovely night out at Casa Galicia. The seafood and Paella were delicious, fresh and portions were generous. The staff were very pleasant and sociable. The ambiance was very cozy and the decor was authentic. We were even offered a complementary Porto after our meal.We had a wonderful time and will go back.

Friendly welcome, fun back terrace (separate from outside eating area and indoor, all good options), helpful staff. We loved our Tunisian style couscous. Two two skewers of moist and well grilled chicken with the standard couscous variety of vegetables and a nice sauce. Perfect size portion. Paired well with a cold beer on a warm spring day. Our server mentioned that her parents are the owners. We chatted briefly with her mom, too. Restaurant was started by the father of current owner. A true family operation! We look forward to our next visit.

What a fantastic little family run restaurant, very meticulous in their service and the food is made with care and is very very tasty! A gang of us went there to watch the hockey game and were very impressed with how they kind of allowed us to take over the place and cheer loudly, buy shots for other patrons and stuff, it was a really good experience!!! 🤗

Fantastic little garden with wholesome staff and great food options! It's a bit of a walk from Metro stations, but it was still worth the effort. The menu may seem small at first, but it does actually offer enough variety for everyone. The friendly environment paired with the quality of food, makes it feel like a home. Do try it!

Really great place for dinner. Servers are really nice and accommodating. The food is really good and affordable. It’s a must visit if you in this area. Outside terrace is beautiful. We had chicken and pork peta & kuskus with chicken all the items were great and more than enough for one person. Tap beer was also really great and only 5$. Sangria is also good 👍

Wonderful flavours in the ximxim (I got it with shrimp) and the picanha. Only wish the portions had been slightly larger as I thought the price was a little high for what we got. Great service from this family-owned business (they've been around for about 15 years now!).

I ordered picanha, and I think it was the most delicious food I had during my trip to Canada. The cassava powder that came with it is especially attractive. The staff is also kind and highly recommend it. and also, rice is served with the meal, so if you need rice, be sure to stop by.

This was my first time trying Brazilian food, and it was an absolute delight. The food was incredibly delicious, the atmosphere was cozy, and the service was fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed our first experience at this restaurant.

Had a really good experience this time around. The students really did a great job! The service was quick and the menu was original. Really enjoyed the beef carpaccio and the trout. The other dishes were just ok. The quality to price ratio is amazing! Would come here again when the new school year starts to try their new menu.

Such an adorable experience, these students have a lot of potential. The food was good and our waiter/ chef Arthur was very informative. Little tips for next visiter, bring cash for the tips, they don’t have tips on the machine if you paying by card :)

Restaurant l'Institut La Relève Gourmande , 3535 rue Saint-Denis, Montréal (Québec) H2X 3P1. Had lunch today at l'ITHQ for my birthday. It was really good even though the food are cooked by the students. The menu is very creative and the price is very affordable. The service was excellent. It's a good place for a date if you're looking for a good French restaurant less then 20$ per person.

Momo par Christian Ventura is the kind of restaurant that makes you question everything you thought you knew about sushi. I went in expecting a good vegan meal and left thinking, how is this actually plant-based? The creativity behind the dishes is incredible. Japanese sushi is clearly the inspiration, but Momo takes that foundation somewhere completely different—using vegetables, mushrooms, sauces, textures and unexpected combinations to create something that feels like its own cuisine 🇯🇵 Every plate feels carefully designed rather than simply substituted. The flavours are layered, the presentation is beautiful, and there’s a real sense of playfulness in the menu. Even if you normally eat fish and aren’t vegan, this is absolutely worth experiencing. The atmosphere also deserves a mention: stylish, intimate and warm without feeling pretentious. The staff were welcoming and genuinely knowledgeable, and having the dishes explained made the experience even more enjoyable. What impressed me most is that Momo doesn’t try to convince you that vegan sushi is almost the same as traditional sushi. It doesn’t need to. It creates its own identity. Montreal has no shortage of restaurants, but very few places make you feel like you’ve discovered something genuinely new.

Dinner at Sushi Momo was incredible. There was so much on the menu, so to focus our choices we did the Omakase. The Omakase included a nice variety of options and our waitress gracefully presented every dish with an abundance of information. The food was delicious and featured so many interesting and complex flavors. It was one of the best sushi experiences that I’ve ever had. The service was great and the ambiance was romantic. I really enjoyed myself.

This is honestly one of my favorite restaurants and I am not vegan. I came accross this restaurant for my vegan friend who also couldn't have alcohol and our waitress spent 10min going over the menu with the kitchen to find options suitvake for us. It was truly an amazing experience. Also, the food was sooo good everything we had was amazing but the highlight was that miso soup ans the crispy rice.

Super great spot! I do love traditional fish sushi, but this is vegan and so delicious. They managed to get the best flavours, super fresh, and original. Also as its vegan great place to come for people with seafood allergies, as there is not risk of contamination. They use a lot of mushrooms in the rolls, which has a really great flavour. Truly a unique culinary experiment. One of my favourite restaurants! They also are on uber which is super convenient too. Prices are also relatively decent for the quality, portion, presentation we get. The inside is super cute and a nice calm energy, I would recommend a reservation as it does seem pretty busy, and is small.

My sister and I stumbled onto this place yesterday and we are SO happy that we did! The restaurant was really beautifully decorated, it was fancy and relaxing, and really great for a date or one-on-one experience as you could have a conversation without it being too loud - overall, super cozy chic vibes. Our waiter Rubel was so friendly, attentive and had the greatest recommendations for us too. Huge portions, incredibly flavourful, fluffy naan... My sister is vegetarian and I love lamb so there were many options for both of us. The food was honestly very fresh and delicious, we even had enough for lunches the next day! Honestly all in all, we are already planning to go back and bring our families because it was a wonderful and delicious experience... Thank you Rubel, can't wait to see you next time!

So being Indian, northern Indian cuisine is in my blood. When I go away I am happy to see Indian restaurants, as I miss the home cooking. Guru Bistro was disappointing. The restaurant has nice decor & excellent service. The food on the other hand was a big let down. First up I ordered Samosa Chana (which really is Samosa Chaat). Not enough tamarind, mint sauce or masalas. For main it was Bhindi & Malai Kofta. Bhindi was very under cooked & again that authentic flavor was missing. Malai Kofta did have descent flavor but had too much sugar. Paranthas & Garlic naan were excellent though. The service is the real reason for the 3 star rating. Hoping to find better Indian food during my stay in Montreal.

My sister and I were on our last day in Montreal and chose to stop by here for dinner. I was shocked at how amazing the food was! We both got the butter chicken and house salad. It was absolutely delicious, great portion sizes, amazing service and affordable too.

My friend and I shared a couple of dishes last night and loved everything! We had Dal Makhani, Paneer Tikka Masala, garlic naan and basmati rice. So delicious! For dessert we had chai and split the cardamom creme brulee. We would have liked more of a cardamom flavour but the creme brulee itself was very good and a generous portion. Our server (didn't get his name) was very good too. Would absolutely come back here next time I'm in Montreal!
