I love this restaurant and the atmosphere was pumping and it just had a great vibe and the food was so good. I started with a French onion soup and the broth was so rich and tasty. The soup was just delicious. Of course they had other things on the menu, but I went for the strip steak with fries and green beans. I did have the peppercorn sauce, which was just phenomenal and ended up having to order another pot of it to dip my fries into. The steak was cooked just right and was really really tasty despite eating so much. I did have a dessert which was good also. Great place for a bit of steak!!

I discovered that you needed to bring your own wine after I arrived, but couche tard is only two blocks away, so it was easy to get wine with my dinner. Steak was prepared perfectly, the goat cheese appetizer was delightful, and the frites were prepared perfectly. And the service was great!

We had such a delightful meal. One of the best steak frites and couldn’t get enough of the sauces. My 10 year old daughter devoured her steak. Great service and great atmosphere. Don’t forget to BYOB.

An unforgettable dining experience! The food was delicious and artfully plated! Thanks chefs for adjusting the entire tasting menu to fit my dietary restrictions with care and creativity.Each wine pairing came with a well told captivating story. Our waitress was warm and attentive, and the bartender dazzled us with creative mocktails. The cozy, elegant ambiance made it all the more special. A true feast for all the senses! While I truly appreciated the experience, the high price point didn’t quite match the overall wow factor I was hoping for — which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

Lovely experience. The food was delicious and offered a thoughtful journey through in-season Quebecois cuisine, but what truly stood out was the staff. Everyone who took care of me was kind, welcoming, and a joy to talk to—especially the main bartender, who curated a full mocktail pairing to accompany my meal. I really appreciated not feeling left out of the drink experience just because I wasn’t drinking alcohol. Their attentiveness made the evening feel personal and memorable. I had a wonderful time.

Went to Toqué and had a great experience. The staff was very accommodating, especially with one of our guests who is vegan, and they offered thoughtful and satisfying options. The menu is described as Québécois, but we weren’t quite sure what specifically made it feel that way—it came across more like classic upscale French cuisine. Still, the service was excellent and we left very happy.

You are not dining out to save money at this restaurant but to burn a whole in your pocket. However, the taste experience will stay with you forever. As it ignites your tastebuds.

The food and wine pairing was absolutely fantastic. I had read some concerns about the sauses being bland, but I found them to be perfectlry balanced. They complemented the naural flavors of the ingredients without overpoering them. The dishes were refined and delicate, and both the service and ambiance exceed my expections.

Came here to celebrate my birthday and had a great time. Our server was excellent I’m not sure his name however but he was great. The steak had great flavour and was cooked to perfection, the sides were delicious and good sizes as well. They also served complimentary fresh challah with sage butter , pickles and coleslaw. The vibe and ambiance is perfect for a special occasion or for a nice night out.

What an amazing place. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here. From the beginning, we were impressed. Hand written note, very warm welcome from all the staff. Took my bestfriend out to dinner and had a great time. the place is beautiful and the service is old school style always adds an extra touch of care, you get to pick out your steak knife, warm towels & pickles & coleslaw to start included. We got the caesar salad to start which was good but needed more dressing and more lemon. We both got new york striploins, cooked perfectly and was a nice big piece. The lobster mac and cheese was my favourite though, it was insane. I’d return.

We went for the weekday lunch. The restaurant is beautiful, and the staff welcoming. There’s a $48 3 course week day special.. choice of appetizer, main and a dessert. I had a Caesar salad to start and my wife had 3 grilled shrimps. Both very good. We both selected the steak- frites for the main. Nice sized portion and delicious. Dessert was an ice cream soft serve sunday with pieces of chocolate and nuts inside. Everything delicious. Attentive staff. Pickles, coleslaw and fresh bread to start off. 👍

My recent visit to Five Guys McGill Street left me with mixed feelings! 🍔🍟🥤 The highlight of the meal was their delightful fries and lip-smacking milkshakes, which truly lived up to the restaurant's reputation. However, I have to say that the veggie burger I ordered was quite underwhelming. 😕 Let's start with the positives—the fries were outstanding! 🍟 Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, they were the perfect sidekick to our meal. And oh, those milkshakes! 🥤🤤 Creamy, rich, and full of flavor, they were simply divine. Five Guys definitely knows how to create mouthwatering sides and treats! Now, onto the not-so-great parts. My friend and I were taken aback by the prices. 💸 While we expected to pay a bit more for quality, we both felt that it was a tad too expensive for a casual burger joint. The veggie burger, unfortunately, was the biggest disappointment. 😔 It lacked the bold flavors we were hoping for and turned out to be quite bland. One thing I have to mention is the A1 sauce, and it's a big no-no. 🚫 We decided to try it, thinking it would add some zing to the burger, but it was far from enjoyable. The taste was off, and it didn't complement the meal at all. On a positive note, the restaurant's atmosphere was inviting with an American-style burger joint vibe. 🍔🇺🇸 The ambiance was lively, and the staff was friendly and efficient, making the dining experience pleasant overall. While the quality of the ingredients used in the burgers was good, I couldn't help but feel that the overall pricing didn't quite match what was offered. Five Guys McGill Street excels in certain aspects, such as their delicious fries and mouthwatering milkshakes, as well as providing a vibrant and upbeat atmosphere. I had a craving for a good old fashion burger. This is exactly what you are gonna find at Five Guys. Their burgers taste like a real homemade burger with simple ingredients. It is not healthy foood, its all comfort food. Their fries are delicious, probably one of the best fast food fries available. The milkshake is good and thick, you can customize it with many different topping at no extra cost.

Cashier lady is very outspoken and rude. The food is great and it is a pick up counter. Our offices will also order for catering. The cashier will yell at you if you take too many napkins, regardless if you tip. She will comment if a client does not tip. She will also say out loud “well people aren’t generous today” so that the other employees hear and the clients in line will hear also. We go back sometimes because the food is great and the prices are reasonable but her negative behaviour leaves a poor last impression.

Was there recently for a private party. Very pretty, private space with a full wall of windows. The food was excellent and the staff was very present, friendly and helpful. I did find the service a little slow. Would definitely consider a private celebration there.

My spot in old Montreal, Big salad bar with different menu every day , Daily salmon and Friday filet mignon is a must . Tuesday club sandwich and Wednesday burger plus pizza ,etc etc .

Really nice place, with a warm ambiance, lovely staff and delicious food. We had the tasting platter from the small dishes to share and for mains we had the Spicy Mayonnaise Bao and the Salmon/tuna poke bowl. Definitely worth the visit and in a nice neighbourhood!

We had a decent experience at this restaurant, but there were some ups and downs. When we were seated, it took over 15 minutes for us to be served water, which was a bit too long, especially since we were quite thirsty. However, once I was able to get the waitress’s attention, she was very kind and polite, and from that point on, the service was good. The cocktails were a highlight—delicious and well-made. Our entrées were also enjoyable. However, the main course was underwhelming. I ordered the Pineapple General Tao, but to my surprise, there was no actual pineapple in the dish. For an Asian fusion restaurant, I expected better execution, and honestly, I prefer the stir-fry pineapple dish from Thai Express over what I had here. It just didn’t meet expectations, and I didn’t feel compelled to take my leftovers home. One thing I really appreciated was the music volume—it was lower than in many other restaurants I’ve been to, which made it easy to have a conversation without having to raise our voices. Overall, I’d rate my experience a 3.5 out of 5. There were some great aspects, but there’s definitely room for improvement, particularly with the speed of service at the start and the quality of the main dishes.

The ambience is nice and the decor is pretty, although the music was too loud, there was so much noise I could barely hear the people I was eating with. The service took a really long time, from coming to take our order, to bringing us our drinks (15-20 minutes) and brining us our diner (40min), we waited quite a lot. We believe the servers might have forgotten our food, since we saw the chef serve some tables, and the corner with heating lamps was entirely full. It is important to add that the restaurant didńt have a lot of customers when we went, there were like 6 other tables. When we finally got our food, mine was tepid, the plate was hot but not the food. The rice was slightly crusted over, like it was left too long under the heating lamp. Otherwise the food was really good, I hade the peanut with tofu and it was really good. Although I don’t think I would come back, it was not really enjoyable with the music and the service took too long.

Pretty nice place for a quick bite or a date, their food looks very good and tasty Quality vs Quantity is pretty fare and the service is pretty good they will make their best to make your visit to their restaurant memorable. I highly recommend it . Special thanks to Enzo for serving us our meals .

This meal was incredible. The restaurant is fun and has a good ambiance inside. The service was quick! Our server Suf was incredible, she was on top of everything, very kind, and gave us great recommendations. She was a top notch server! As for the food, we were really impressed. We ate the tofu pad Thai, vegetable dumplings, and peanut sauce chicken wontons. The wontons and pad Thai were amazing! We wanted to go back the next night for dinner. Prices were also very reasonable.

Great variety of prepared sandwiches, salads and meals made fresh daily. Expect a line up at lunch and get there early to have good selection as they sometimes sell out of certain sandwiches early, especially in the warmer months. Personal favorites include the Nona (meatball sandwich) or the chicken salad wrap made with cranberries and walnuts, and you must try the brownies.

The best quality food, service and atmosphere you’ll find in a Chinese restaurant in Montreal. With the relaxed, comfortable atmosphere and seating, there isn’t one bad table in the restaurant. Mr Ma and his team go above and beyond for their patrons. We ordered the dumplings with peanut sauce but I forgot to take a picture before devouring them up. I also recommend the general Tao chicken and fried rice.

Glad we could try this place when in town and certainly didn’t disappoint. Amazing soups on a rainy day ❤️ and we were accommodated despite not having a reservation. Highly recommended wonton soup, friend calamari and seafood noodles. General Tso chicken even though was the most recommended dish, it wasn’t to our liking. Service was above and beyond, very attentive and personable!

Most of the food was really really good. I loved the Mongolian beef, the sauteed mixed vegetables, the pan-fried noodles with chicken and vegetable and the general tao (although very spicy). The general tao was actual thick pieces of chicken and the breading was crispy and not too thick. The Mongolian beef is not like PF Chang's Mongolian beef, but it's sauteed thin strips of beef with vegetables in a savory sauce. The meat quality was very good and the beef was tender and not at all tough. It was my favorite. The vegetables were crisp and tasty with a great variety (carrots, broccoli, mushrooms, baby bok choy, Chinese cauliflower, green beans and lotus root). The pan- fried noodles with chicken and vegetables had crispy noodles on top (like Chow mein) and they were still crispy when I got home even after driving 20+ min. Underneath was thinly cut bites of chicken and vegetables (the same as in the sauteed vegetables).The peanut butter dumplings were very small and a bit salty. The sauce portion was generous and it was topped with green onions. My 11 y/o son loved them, but they were just ok in my opinion. The shrimp toast was good, my husband loved it. It comes with a sweet dipping sauce. None of our dishes came with rice because we didn't order any combos, so we just made rice at home. The people who work there seem very kind, friendly and helpful. I placed the call by phone for pickup and the gentleman on the line was nice and patient and the woman who served me when I picked up the order helped me open the door and made sure I was able to carry the bag to my car. The only negative was that it was pretty expensive for the portion size. It cost more than my usual go-to Chinese restaurant and there's less food, but I'd still go again because the food is so good. There was also lots of paid street parking right near the restaurant. Even though it's downtown, it's on a road with mild traffic. Positives: Delicious food Fresh ingredients with lots of vegetables and good quality meat Friendly staff Ample street parking although downtown Negatives: Cost Smaller portions

Stopped by here on a cold Thursday evening in late March for some takeout. Ordered 2 dishes (sesame chicken & orange beef) from Mrs. Ma. Waited in the foyer and she was quite gracious & lovely chatting with me the entire time I waited for my food (about 10mins). I restaurant looks to be warm & cozy and would love to dine in here sometime. I believe they've been here for many, many years, which I love that history. When I brought my food home, it was still warm & delicious. Very authentic, flavorful Szechuan cuisine. I HIGHLY recommend!

We were searching for a good steak house and, by chance, came across this place - and we are really glad we did. After a day's worth of traveling, we were certainly more casually dressed, but they found us a walk-in table, and we had an impressive meal. The bone marrow was exceptional, and the Caesar salad was good (but I tend to like mine with a little more punch). The steaks were absolutely perfect, and the sides were delicious. Service - perfection! I'd definitely go back.

My wife and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary by having dinner at Vargas. It was absolutely amazing. My wife had the prime rib, which was done to perfection, accompanied by the garlic mashed potatoes. She absolutely enjoyed it! I had the Beef Wellington. It was also amazing! I also had the lobster mashed potatoes, and oh my goodness, they were brilliant! We followed up our meal with the strawberry cheesecake. Wow, it too was amazing!! Our waitress/bartender Amy was very friendly and extremely professional. She is a great conservationalist and wise beyond her years! You are very lucky to have such an amazing employee. Bravo!

I’ve been to Vargas a few times over the years and I always find the steaks to be hit or miss. It’s hard to knock a place for the steak not being tender and when I’ve told them about it they’ve always made something new. Unfortunately it’s been 4 out of the 5 times I’ve gone that someone in our group has had a bad steak. Most recently I had the prime rib which was surprisingly very tough but they replaced it with a filet and a free dessert. The crème Brûlée was probably the best I’ve ever had. I was there with my son and he got the burger. For kids they charge you 12$ which is nice but it’s the same burger on their menu minus the bacon. My son and I both agreed it’s probably the best burger I’ve ever had in my life. It was really good but it was a tad spicy so if that’s your thing you’ll love it.

Had a girl's night at Saiko sushi on a Wednesday night. Each of us have a sushi - chef choice $38 sorry I forgot the name. But it was the fresh catch of the day. With rice under and surrounding by fresh avocados. It was really good! Super fresh, I feel the sashimi I can have a lot of them 😁 And we have added a beef yaki. The beef was not tender enough. however the teriyaki sauce is amazing! 5/5 for service. I have asked for gluten free soy sauce. The server did one step ahead by confirming if it is in allergy and made sure all my food are gluten free, and especially got me the teriyaki sauce gluten free as well Missing one point is only because the beef was not tender. Btw if you like Riesling , they have amazing Riesling $13/ glass. I like it sweet, and this one served in the restaurant exactly good sweetness

I’ve never been a fan of paying for à la carte sushi restaurant, but Saiko completely changed my perspective—mind blown! The sushi was so good, it’s 100% worth the price. I had the Chirashi here during my visit. Though not the main ingredient of the dish, the mushrooms in particular were very delicious and full of flavour. I also had the Saiko rolls for my train ride back, it was also amazing. Highly recommend

I ordered a Chirashi, so delicious! The rice cooked just right. The sashimis are fresh, and the waiter explained what each of sashimis in the set. Delighted! Green tea was good as well! 😁
