Really great good, and very fresh. I never felt like I was pulling old fish off a conveyor belt. It's fun to watch them make it in front of you. They all yell hello and goodbye to everyone who comes and goes. Great vibe, very fun, and tasty.

Very fresh sushi, good affordable prices.

I ordered Ebi Tempura Udon because they didn't have a Donburi (Rice meals). The prawn in the udon was big and crispy and delicious.
The salmon nigiri was also very tasty. The sushi cola was interesting, I say it tastes like a cross between Cola and Sprite (It was written 'Japanese Green tea Cola'.
If you want to drink alcohol, it seems that they only have Asahi beer here.

Sushi Train at Bondi Junction is a fun and friendly place to eat at any time of the day. The staff greet everyone as they walk in and again all yell out goodbyes as you leave. It’s really fun. The plates of food that role past are plentiful with lots of variety. You can even get yummy desserts and fruit bowls. The sushi chefs are constantly making dishes in the centre so you can see everything is freshly made.

Came here while staying in Sydney. Prices are on the higher end, but the fish is fresh and delicious. The scallops were soft and amazing, with the Wagyu Nigiri being buttery and a perfect end to the dinner. The atmosphere is great with the belt going around the sushi bar. They also offer at seat online ordering in case you don't see what you want on the belt. Would highly recommend for anyone that has never had conveyer belt sushi before.

My new favourite Japanese restaurant in Sydney! Warm & friendly Japanese staff, excellent & fresh food and authentically Japanese - which is rare to find in Sydney these days. I will be coming here again & again! Thank you Wa team 💓

I’ve never been disappointed in any meal I’ve ordered. The portions are ample and the food delicious. The service is excellent. Nothing is too much trouble and always delivered with a smile. It’s not a big restaurant but very cosy.

The first impression of the menu was that the price is on the high end, but after the food arrived and tasted, it is worth every penny. Waguy beef so tender, juicy and source full of flavours. Specially rice for sushi and set menu dishes. Good location but limited seating capacity and spacr when it's busy. The indoor seating allows you to unintentionally hear your neighbours conversation at the next table. Very friendly and attentive staff serving customers. Highly recommended if you are after quality and service.

Authentic Japanese with great service.
My wife and I love this place, fast and friendly, food is top quality, fresh, and served quickly.
Plenty on the menu for the kids too.
BYO your fave wine is a bonus!

This is a great place in Bondi Junction for Japanese food, it’s moved from across the road and looks like it’s now in a restaurant that used to be Italian hence some of the internal designs that don’t look very authentic 👍🏼 The food is great, can get very busy at meal times and the service can be a bit chaotic and slow but the food is always served with a smile, if you’re not in a hurry then it’s really enjoyable!! Definitely worth a visit 😊

Affordable ramen. Good for a quick meal. We didn’t have a very good experience as the girl who served us was so unfamiliar with the menu and made us a wrong item even though we double checked with her. Flavor was OK. I had the spicy one which had lots of peppercorns in it - kind of annoying when you try to have the soup

Mappen, Bondi Junction. One of the most affordable ways to get Japanese when dining out / we got three mini bowls for $13.90 total; teriyaki chicken and rice, udon, and a salad as well as a few sides! Casual dining and welcoming staff too

If you’re looking for a quick and affordable Japanese eats in Sydney, I think this place is one of the them. They serve one of my favourite udon-nice and chewy texture. The Japanese curry is thick and packed with flavour. The $13.90 3 mini bowl set menu is a great option if you are looking to try few dishes.

My experience was and had always been a positive one at Mappen Japanese restaurants. I usually go for a chicken teriyaki on rice or a soup. Would I recommend it, yes, I've returned many times. Food presentation is all well done.

This used to be my go-to spot for Japanese food back when they had a store in Melbourne — my friends and I absolutely loved it. It was disappointing when they closed, but visiting the Bondi Junction location today brought it all back. The food is still just as authentic and full of real Japanese flavour — not like the generic imitations you find around.
Glad to see the Sydney store doing well… but if the owners are reading this: please consider bringing it back to Melbourne — we miss it!

I enjoyed red curry with beef and a side of Jasmine rice. Big serving size - if you’re not super hungry I’d share it between two. Flavour and ingredients had different nuances to my local Thai place in Tokyo but naturally delicious.

Such a good spot for Thai food in Bondi Junction! I came here for dinner and everything was super tasty. The crispy pork with basil was amazing, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. Even though the shop was quite busy, the staff were still nice and friendly. Definitely coming back again soon!

the cheapest and most delicious Thai food around. Great flavors, generous portions, and wallet-friendly prices. Definitely comeback here again

Authentic thai owned restaurant, food came quick and was delicious. Cool decorations everywhere, maybe a bit small on sitting space but fits a tight 20 people
Bix Torvela - 3 months ago
The customer service was good.
Tom yum and laksa both tasted like ultra processed sauces and powders. Extremely sweet and unhealthy, the tofu was so deep fried it didn’t taste like tofu at all. The noodles were gooey and weird. I feel bad after eating here.
The restaurant should focus more on real quality and not only cheap stuff.
The door was open during rain and wind, so it was very uncomfortable and the metallic table and chairs didn’t make it any better. Sorry!

The breakfast muffin was delicious. It tasted properly with correct amount of pork sausage, bacon, hash brown. It tasted delicious with it not being too fatty. The chiplote mayo was really delicious as well. It was really good in general. I would go back for it if I ever return
The tea needs cooling but overall has a good consistency. It was a twinnings and presented well. Thank you very much.

We shared four dishes during dinner at GU Thai Studio Kitchen. They were all very tasty and quite varied. The portion sizes were great and the ingredients were fresh. Highlights were the stir fried beef with garlic and pepper sauce; the pineapple fried rice and the dry noodle bowl with beef.

A very warm and welcoming ambiance. There is a flower wall just at the front wall. Looks really nice, the tables are well cleaned and everything is in order. Staff is friendly and cooperative. The place is neat, tidy and hygiene
I ordered beef Pad Thai, the live cooking was fast as my order was delivered in 5 minutes, the pad thai was amazing noodles were perfectly boiled, the protein was in a good quantity as well as quality. I like the taste but personally i felt like the Pad Thai was a bit over-saucy. However it was very good
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Lovely authentic Thai food, as if you were on the streets of Bangkok. Peachy is such a lovely and friendly host. The pad see ew and shrimp&prawn spring rolls were the highlight. Gu eggplant and pork belly was spicy but very tasty (must try). Portion sizes are very generous and there is limited seating, so come early!

During lockdown we’ve been ordering from Gu Thai every week and never been let down in quality. Finally had the chance to dine in and to top off the incredible food the chefs prepare we had service above and beyond by the lovely lady at the front. Definitely our regular spot to visit from now on - Thank you!!
If you’re wondering what to get, Fish in Secret Garden is an absolute winner

Food was ok but the profiteroles with coffee custard was bad! Cold and tasted horrible!
Danielle W. (Dani) - 3 weeks ago
Had a few drinks which were reasonably priced, and a good cocktail. The balcony was full, with many people smoking. Sat inside in an area which had small parts open to the outdoors (no view). Again lots smoking in this area which wasn't to my taste.

Unexpectedly good fish and chips, and the service from the bar guy was friendly, helpful and efficient. I’d go again when there’s a better atmosphere though, because it just smelt like stale cigarettes and mostly mature people were dining in their Sunday best today.
L Tram - 3 years ago
Quite nice spot on the balcony to enjoy a sunny day, unfortunately drinks weren't great and their juices frankly bad. If you go there for drinks be sure to bring some cash as there is a $20 minimum on card. I'm not gonna hold the place accountable for the very loud and annoying crowd of drunk customers though it certainly didn't help this review.

Lived in Sydney for four years and this is hands down the highest quality Japanese food you’ll find in the entire city. It doesn’t even come close
Owned by a beautiful couple, Mari and Kioyshi, Ototo serves up the most authentic, delicious and fresh Japanese food. At very fair prices so value for money with the quality of ingredients is incredible
Stand outs are the teriyaki salmon bowl and teriyaki chicken bowl.. ultimately, EVERYTHING is really really really good!!!
Ashish Aggarwal - a year ago
We recently tried the spicy chicken chili rice bowl and the teriyaki chicken rice bowl. Personally, I found the spicy chicken to be the standout choice, which is showcased in the first photo attached. However, I must mention that the portion sizes were a bit disappointing considering the nearly $20 price tag per bowl. Flavorful, yet left us wanting more😋
Xin W - a year ago
The food was absolutely delicious and the service was very friendly and welcoming. The only thing I would mention is that, for my taste, the portion size felt a little on the small side. But maybe that’s just me – when the food is this good, my appetite might just be too big.

A nice little restaurant tucked away on Oxford Street. Quality and Qantity of food was spot on and priced reasonably. We ordered 2 of the Lunch Special Bento's, one Salmon Sashimi and the second being Chicken Karage. Each Bento comes with rice, salad, miso soup, vegetable Tempura, vegetable spring rolls and edamane.
We loved both dishes the food was cooked to order and delicious to eat and best value for money. See the pictures and recommend you give it a try.

Very authentic & delicious small Japanese restaurant. All the dishes are freshly cooked and home made.Great value for the cost about $20 or so for a nice Bento box with many choices or the very tasty Japanese chicken curry.Friendly service- there's no way one can go back to 'food court food' after coming here.😋
