Came here for a quick bit to eat the sushi was fresh. It was a bit of a wait.
The prawn sushi was so good fresh the guy with his knife skills was mind blowing as I watched him make it fresh!
The soft shell crab hand roll was amazing by too.

The sushi is really nice and fresh, everyone is so nice especially Della. She is working very hard, i saw her do welcoming, cashier and also cleaning up the table while taking orders at the same time. She greeted us with a beautiful smile and gentle voice. Della made our dining experience very comfortable. I will definitely come back for the nice sushi and the hospitality. Thank you Della.

Omg I have been walking past this place after haircut for three years and had never been inside. I would see people lining up for what I thought was just an average sushi eatery. Then last week I go in for a quick bite before my haircut on a whim. I only had 20 minutes. HOLY HELL. This was the best sushi I have had in years. Every dish melted in my mouth. Great chef!

We had such a lovely dining experience, and Della made it even more special. She was attentive, friendly, and ensured our orders were perfect. Her excellent service really added to the overall enjoyment of our visit. Highly recommended!

We shared the spicy edamame with a cooked tuna salad for dinner. We also ordered two miso soups which came with two surprise complimentary tofu-sushis with small mushrooms on top. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. Next time I visit Bondi, I'll definitely come back to sample some more delights from WA's menu.

One of the best Japanese restaurants in Sydney. Great food and friendly staff 😋👍
Juliette C - 2 months ago
The first impression of the menu was that the price is on the high end, but after the food arrived and tasted, it is worth every penny. Waguy beef so tender, juicy and source full of flavours. Specially rice for sushi and set menu dishes. Good location but limited seating capacity and spacr when it's busy. The indoor seating allows you to unintentionally hear your neighbours conversation at the next table. Very friendly and attentive staff serving customers. Highly recommended if you are after quality and service.

This is a great place in Bondi Junction for Japanese food, it’s moved from across the road and looks like it’s now in a restaurant that used to be Italian hence some of the internal designs that don’t look very authentic 👍🏼 The food is great, can get very busy at meal times and the service can be a bit chaotic and slow but the food is always served with a smile, if you’re not in a hurry then it’s really enjoyable!! Definitely worth a visit 😊

Wa Japanese Restaurant is very popular and it is a good idea to book ahead especially if you are in a group of four or more. The food is really tasty and you can specify if you want it spicy or not. Most of the mains come with salad, vegetables and rice. Wa always do a great eggplant entree. The staff are friendly and attentive. I suppose the only problem is that it is so popular and therefore crowded that it can be a bit noisy. For this reason I recommend a seat outside of the main dining area in the building's foyer.

From the moment I walked to the counter, the team made me feel welcome with their friendly attitude and genuine customer service.
My meal was fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. The chicken was perfectly cooked, the chips were crispy, and everything was prepared with care. Even though the store was busy, my order came out quickly and the staff remained friendly and professional throughout.
I'll definitely be back and would happily recommend this store to family and friends. Keep up the fantastic work!

I had a really great experience at this Oporto. The food was fresh, tasty, and served hot, with generous portions that made it great value for money. Everything tasted like it had been prepared fresh rather than sitting around waiting to be served.
The team were friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in. Even during a busy period, the service was quick and efficient, and the staff remained professional and attentive.
The restaurant was clean, well organised, and had a pleasant atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back again soon.

I had such a great experience at this Oporto! The food was fresh, hot, and full of flavour — exactly what you want from a fast food spot but better quality than expected. The portions were generous and everything tasted like it had just been made to order.
The service was also impressive. The staff were friendly, efficient and handled the rush really well without making anyone feel rushed. The store front itself was clean and well maintained, which always makes a big difference.
It’s rare to find fast food that’s quick, affordable and genuinely enjoyable but this Oporto delivers. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I had a great experience at Oporto. The food was fresh, hot, and full of flavour—especially the Bondi Rappa, which never disappoints. The chicken was juicy, and the chilli sauce had the perfect kick without being overwhelming. Service was quick and friendly, and the staff made sure the order was correct.

Finally a place that priced it's foods similar to Singapore. and they tasted great too. This Japanese shop is by far the best I've been combining my Sydney and Melbourne experience.

My experience was and had always been a positive one at Mappen Japanese restaurants. I usually go for a chicken teriyaki on rice or a soup. Would I recommend it, yes, I've returned many times. Food presentation is all well done.

Mappen, Bondi Junction. One of the most affordable ways to get Japanese when dining out / we got three mini bowls for $13.90 total; teriyaki chicken and rice, udon, and a salad as well as a few sides! Casual dining and welcoming staff too

Affordable ramen. Good for a quick meal. We didn’t have a very good experience as the girl who served us was so unfamiliar with the menu and made us a wrong item even though we double checked with her. Flavor was OK. I had the spicy one which had lots of peppercorns in it - kind of annoying when you try to have the soup

If you’re looking for a quick and affordable Japanese eats in Sydney, I think this place is one of the them. They serve one of my favourite udon-nice and chewy texture. The Japanese curry is thick and packed with flavour. The $13.90 3 mini bowl set menu is a great option if you are looking to try few dishes.

One of the best falafel's you will get in town and if not in Sydney. I mainly find an excuse to go to Bondi Westfield so i can eat at this place. The staff are very friendly and they offer free falafels to taste before you buy which you dont find at many places.
Must eat and highly recommended.

The customer service was good.
Tom yum and laksa both tasted like ultra processed sauces and powders. Extremely sweet and unhealthy, the tofu was so deep fried it didn’t taste like tofu at all. The noodles were gooey and weird. I feel bad after eating here.
The restaurant should focus more on real quality and not only cheap stuff.
The door was open during rain and wind, so it was very uncomfortable and the metallic table and chairs didn’t make it any better. Sorry!

Loved the pad thai and calamari. The staff was welcoming and helpful. It is a casual and cozy eatery, and it was perfect for a quick lunch. Great location and convenient. Portion sizes were good as well. They provided a bottle of cold water, which we greatly appreciated after a long walk.

Spring Street Nook Cafe is a cosy, little establishment located at the corner of the Royal Arcade. It's more of a buy-and-go place since there are limited chairs and tables to sit at if you choose to dine-in. Regardless, it has a pleasant vibe with decent service. The cost is on the pricier side, however the food and drinks are delicious.
I purchased the "Green Goddess" juice for $8, which has a combination of (green) apple, baby spinach and mint and tasted very refreshing and nice. For food, I chose the "Bacon and egg roll" for $12 which tasted as it should and was super filling.
This cafe is a nice place but you should expect to spend around $20-$30 if you plan to have a meal with a drink. If you're only doing a coffee/drink and pastry, it'll definitely be under $20.

A very warm and welcoming ambiance. There is a flower wall just at the front wall. Looks really nice, the tables are well cleaned and everything is in order. Staff is friendly and cooperative. The place is neat, tidy and hygiene
I ordered beef Pad Thai, the live cooking was fast as my order was delivered in 5 minutes, the pad thai was amazing noodles were perfectly boiled, the protein was in a good quantity as well as quality. I like the taste but personally i felt like the Pad Thai was a bit over-saucy. However it was very good
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

We shared four dishes during dinner at GU Thai Studio Kitchen. They were all very tasty and quite varied. The portion sizes were great and the ingredients were fresh. Highlights were the stir fried beef with garlic and pepper sauce; the pineapple fried rice and the dry noodle bowl with beef.

Lovely authentic Thai food, as if you were on the streets of Bangkok. Peachy is such a lovely and friendly host. The pad see ew and shrimp&prawn spring rolls were the highlight. Gu eggplant and pork belly was spicy but very tasty (must try). Portion sizes are very generous and there is limited seating, so come early!

During lockdown we’ve been ordering from Gu Thai every week and never been let down in quality. Finally had the chance to dine in and to top off the incredible food the chefs prepare we had service above and beyond by the lovely lady at the front. Had a few drinks which were reasonably priced, and a good cocktail. The balcony was full, with many people smoking. Sat inside in an area which had small parts open to the outdoors (no view). Again lots smoking in this area which wasn't to my taste.

Unexpectedly good fish and chips, and the service from the bar guy was friendly, helpful and efficient. I’d go again when there’s a better atmosphere though, because it just smelt like stale cigarettes and mostly mature people were dining in their Sunday best today.
L Tram - 4 years ago
Quite nice spot on the balcony to enjoy a sunny day, unfortunately drinks weren't great and their juices frankly bad. If you go there for drinks be sure to bring some cash as there is a $20 minimum on card. I'm not gonna hold the place accountable for the very loud and annoying crowd of drunk customers though it certainly didn't help this review.
