Garrison Church Sydney
Garrison Church is a beautiful Sydney landmark
Churches often feature some of the most beautiful and ornate architecture to be found in a city and The Garrison Church located in The Rocks is certainly no exception.
This beautiful historic church is officially called the Holy Trinity Church, but from the outset, it has been commonly known as The Garrison Church due to the many regiments who attended from the nearby Garrison of Dawes Point Battery.
Construction of the church began in 1840 and the first services were held in 1843. At that time the church held about 250 people, but in 1855 it was expanded to make room for up to 600.
Inside the church is as impressive as the exterior so be sure to take a look if you pass by during the open hours.
