5 Star Rating The restaurant is magical with a historic building curated into many different private rooms. We were in the main open area and the seating is curated with gorgeous seating cubes that led our group into a private and engaging evening. The rules of the place in the wine list is amusingly appropriate. Loved the food naturally and the vast range of options for even the most critical diners.

5 Star Rating My family surprised me with a dinner at the Rockpool restaurant for my birthday. My husband and I have been there before but this was our first time as a family. From start to finish it was a very pleasant experience. Nicholas, (not sure what his role there is) was friendly and professional and went above and beyond with his service. He explained and educated us about the food on the menu before we ordered which made it exciting for us to order for four people. Food was delicious! The highlight was the lamb and the rib eye on the bone. Bone marrow pasta was exceptional and we even enjoyed the sides. The restaurant ambience is elegant yet relaxing. The little birthday cupcake was then literally icing on top of our experience. Definitely recommend for a special celebration dinner.

3 Star Rating I had a deeply disappointing experience at this restaurant — not because of the food, but because of the incredibly mean-spirited and unprofessional service I received. I politely told the waiter I needed to leave by 7pm (it was just after 6pm), and asked to place my order. Instead of helping, the waiter kept pushing me to choose something else, disregarding my preferences. When I said I could make my own decisions, he responded with condescension and a cold, judgmental tone, insisting he wouldn’t take my order until my whole party had arrived. The entire interaction felt controlling, unpleasant, and frankly, mean. To make things worse, while I was being micromanaged in the name of “restaurant policy”, the table next to us was using a camera with a high-powered flash repeatedly, disturbing the atmosphere — yet none of the staff said a word. It’s hard to understand how a restaurant that prides itself on refinement allows this kind of disruption while policing guests who are simply trying to order. And just when I thought it couldn’t get worse — at the end of the meal, when I went to collect my coat, a female staff member handed it to me by pinching it with two fingers, upside down, as if she were throwing away garbage. I was stunned. How could a restaurant with such a supposedly good reputation have staff that treat guests with such obvious disdain? This place may look polished on the outside, but what I experienced was a complete lack of respect, empathy, and basic courtesy. I left feeling belittled and unwelcome. I will never return, and I suggest others think twice.

5 Star Rating Excellent service from the moment you walk into the venue. Even though I made a last minute Birthday booking, they still allocated us great seats on the balcony. The steaks were absolutely delicious and paired well with the thick cut chips and accompanied sauces. We would have liked the brussel sprouts to be more crunchy but other than this, it was a really good dining experience. Birthday cupcake was the perfect end to the meal. Extensive wine and cocktail list as well.

5 Star Rating This is a fantastic choice for Japanese BBQ in Sydney. The all-you-can-eat wagyu option is incredible value for the quality of meat you get. The cuts are tender and flavourful, and cooking it yourself at the table is a fun and interactive experience.

5 Star Rating One of the best Japanese BBQ spots in the city! The meats are always fresh and well-marinated, especially the wagyu and beef tongue. The all-you-can-eat menu is great value, and the sashimi and sides are just as good as the BBQ. Service is fast and friendly, and the atmosphere makes it perfect for gatherings. Always my go-to when craving Japanese BBQ in Sydney.

5 Star Rating Absolutely loved this place — hands down one of the best hidden Japanese BBQ spots in the city. We came here for the $89 all-you-can-eat Wagyu BBQ, and I was honestly blown away. The meat quality was amazing, especially the Wagyu beef rib — super juicy and full of flavour, with that perfect melt-in-your-mouth texture. I could easily say it’s better than a lot of regular yakiniku places in Sydney. You order everything on an iPad, and there are quite a few premium cuts included. The grill is really strong too — cooks fast and evenly, and the sear marks are just beautiful. Also, please try the chicken wings — they tasted just like the ones I had in Japan. So nostalgic and so good. The staff were all Japanese and really friendly, especially the lady at the front — super welcoming and kind. You can tell it’s a proper local favourite, not part of a chain. Only thing is — it’s a bit hidden down a small alley, so don’t be surprised if you miss it the first time. Definitely worth finding though!

5 Star Rating I had an excellent lunch of oysters, steak tartare and wine at this unassuming but lovely place. The staff is knowledgeable and passionate about their wines and the number of regulars who came right when they opened at 12pm on Monday is a testament to how good they are. I had a very unique Jura style “yellow” wine from Mornington and a decent and earthy gamay from NSW. The oysters were nice and fresh but the steak tartare which was robust in terms of texture and taste stole the show - one of the best I’ve had in recent memory!

5 Star Rating I've dined here before so know you'll always get a varied and great wine list. What impressed me with a recent visit (after too long of a gap between visits) is how good the food is - compliments to the chef. Some real stand outs including the terrine, fried scamorza, schnitzel, steak and peppercorn sauce. Even the bread was so tasty. The Madeleines are the cherry on top and are so good. Look forward to visiting again.

5 Star Rating The best burger ever! We went for lunch a couple of weeks ago after a shopping trip before flying home. Fix was just round the corner from David Jones and across the road from St James station. We didn’t make a reservation, and were seated immediately. The staff were friendly and brought us water. I chose the steamed market fish with greens, sweet potato and lemon caper butter, the fish was barramundi. It was beautifully cooked, it was so moist, the sweet potato and lemon caper butter were smooth buttery and added a lovely citrus sharpness, and the greens were beautifully cooked. My husband opted for the wagyu burger, he devoured it and proclaimed it was the best burger he had ever had! It was so moist and tender and just melted in the mouth. We ordered a portion of the chips with chicken salt, that we picked at, this would be our only criticism, the chips were crunchy and well cooked but the chicken salt was a little over salty for our taste. We chose a bottle of the Domaine de L’ille ‘Porquerolles” Provence rose to accompany our lunch, which was delicious. If we come back to Sydney we would definitely come back to Fix Wine Bar.

5 Star Rating We recently dined at Spice Temple in Sydney to celebrate a family birthday, and it was an absolute hit! The moment we stepped inside, we were struck by the warm and stunning atmosphere. The service was top-notch – our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations from the menu. The food was absolutely divine! We ordered a variety of dishes to share, and each one was more delicious than the last. What really made the evening special, though, was the birthday treat – the staff surprised the birthday boy with a complimentary dessert. It was such a thoughtful touch and added to the overall warmth and hospitality of the restaurant. We were impressed by the attention to detail. We'll definitely be back for more! If you're looking for a great spot to celebrate a special occasion or just want to enjoy some amazing Asian cuisine, Spice Temple is a must-visit.

5 Star Rating Absolutely wonderful dining experience! First time but won't be our last. Every dish was delicious, and the cocktails were incredible. Highly recommend the hot sweet and sour numbing pork, and the prawn wontons. Our waiter was very efficient and service oriented - to the point that he was coming over and refolding our napkins when we went to the bathroom! Now that's service. The atmosphere was also really cool with contemporary yet dark underground vibes and a great music selection.10/10 no notes, do yourself a favour and give Spice Temple a go.

4 Star Rating Had a wonderful experience st Spice Temple, with the commitment to service really shining through. The retro atmosphere feels intimate and comfortable, and overall the food was pretty good. The soup to begin was delicious, made better by the fact it was complimentary. Our entrees were truely a highlight, with the chicken with strange sauce and the chow mien being must haves. Unfortunately, the Hot Pot was really a let down, they forgot the rice noodles, added tripe, and overall the soup was bland and wagyu cut too thick, making it tough. This was really where the service was outstanding, with the dish taken off our bill and complimentary mocktails provided for the table. The gesture really showed the high level of care that Spice Temple takes, and really successfully recovered our experience. Our mains were mixed, with the lemon chicken being tender, flavourful and crispy, but the ”signature” beef needles being tough and dry. The greens were delicious just something that could be cooked at home. We ordered one of every dessert, and all of them were delicious, with the egg rolls and cake being the favourites. We were so full that we asked for the complimentary petit fours to go, which they happily obliged. We will be back!

4 Star Rating Came here for our anniversary and the steak was impeccable! I’ve had a few tomahawks but this was cooked to perfection! Medium rare, juicy and a lot of fat that made each bite melt in your mouth. The peppercorn sauce was the perfect combo although could’ve had a bigger portion. The beef tartare was interesting it was overpowered by the potato and not enough beef didn’t like the ratio. The chips were okay it was just standard chips nothing special. Excellent service we told them we were celebrating our anniversary and they gave us a cocktail. Waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive. We were too full so skipped dessert but the options didn’t look that exciting. Steak is definitely their strength highly recommended.

5 Star Rating Went to Matt Moran’s Chophouse for a special Truffle Dinner in association with The Truffle Farm. What an amazing dinner! If you like truffles then get on to their mailing list for next time. The starters were delicate and tasty, the entrees were moorish and the main course of O’Connell T-Bone was probably the best steak I have ever eaten. So tender and tasty with nice smokey char. And then we had dessert! As if there wasn’t enough food, you get sent away with a nice truffle chocolate bar to eat at your leisure. Regardless of the truffles, the food was very tasty, the service was very good and made for a fantastic evening.

4 Star Rating Had an awesome time here. The service was fantastic. One of the better steaks I’ve had in Sydney - we had a 1.6kg tomahawk that was absolute perfection. Rivals Bistecca and Kingsleys. Oysters and scallops were phenomenal and whilst the tartare itself was really tasty this would be better on a thinner piece of potato or even on a chip (my only real feedback). Mash potatoes was fantastic as was the carrots. Mushroom sauce was also so delicious. Highly recommend.

They couldn't wait to get you out of your table. It's not like there's a lot of people waiting outside because there were other free seats around us, and the staff practically said "are you done yet?" Completely ruined the mood. 5 Star Rating Service here was impeccable. The servers were attentive to us and they would clean the table and replace our plates for every dish we finished. Water was refilled quite frequent too. We had edamame and lotus crips to start. I found the crisps a tad too salty. We had Wagyu tataki and it cake with lotus crips too. They were just as equally salty and I had to drink a lot of water. Though Wagyu tataki was flavorsome and nicely presented, I would have liked it better had the sauce not been overly salty. Agedashi tofu and eggplant was my favorite dish as it was soft and fresh, not to mention it was flavorful with the broth. It was the only dish I found not overwhelming. We had king prawns and vegetables tempura for sharing too and it was the best tempura I had in Sydney. They were fried to perfection and not overwhelmed with oil at all, not to mention they were very crispy and flavorsome. I enjoyed every bit of it with the sauce they provided. We got Wagyu sirloin steak mbs5+ with yuzu chilli dipping sauce and it was nicely presented. It was nicely done in medium rare and I enjoyed it with the sauce provided. It was well complemented with the veggie in it. Lastly, we had their limited time Mont Blanc daifuku dessert with matcha gelato to finish off. It was a tad disappointing as I didn’t like the texture of daifuku that much. It tasted like a frozen mochi. Though I loved the matcha gelato. All in all, I had a pleasant dining experience here. Thumbs up to the good food and good customer service.

5 Star Rating Been visiting Azuma over the years and came to celebrate my friends 50th at their new location on Phillip St. Staff were attentive and friendly, and the new layout was open and inviting. The 8 courses were well presented, and can clearly see the attention to detail on the small dishes. The journey also included the theme of the Japanese elemental colours and the flavours were well thought out. The fish were also cooked perfectly. The only minor things was the broth in the soup dishes were slightly salty and the zenzai red bean was a tad sweet for my preference. However the flavour profiles were there. Finished the meal with their world famous chiffon cake. If you want to experience a genuine Japanese cuisine in Sydney using some Australian ingredients, I do recommend you to try. 5 Star Rating Excellent value lunch offerings at Deli Ziosa. Very popular but the staff are working at warp speed and getting through the lines at the lunch rush. I ordered a small salad ($11) with 2 choices. One was Cajun Chicken Pasta and the other Chicken Caesar Salad. Both were tasty and the Cajun one had a bit of bite to it. Interestingly the Cajun chicken used dark meat in the salad while the caesar had chicken breast pieces. They really packed it into the container. No internal seating and good luck finding a spot in the MLC foodcourt. I enjoyed my salads on the steps outside in the sun. Great value.

5 Star Rating I used to work in King St near the MCL Centre, and Deli Ziosa was our "go to place" for coffee, lunch and sometimes breakfast. The food was always excellent, consistent and very yummy. The coffee was fantastic. So today, 10 years later, I find myself in the City needing some breakfast! Guess what? Deli Ziosa is still there, with the same everything, and surprise, surprise, the prices haven't gone up that much. Large flat white, less than $5, and a very yum bacon and 2 egg roll, less than $10. What's not to like! 👍🤪

5 Star Rating Righto. I was not planning on leaving a review for this excellent "sandwich shop" (it does much more than sandwiches!), which is why I didn't take photos when there. But when I got back to my desk and launched into my sandwich, I just knew I had to say something. This is one of the few places where you can still get a sandwich made with your own combination of fillings. My sandwich was AMAZING - one of the most delicious and satisfying I've ever had, and that's saying alot! It started with the service, they were very tolerant of me just standing there trying to work out what ingredients I wanted on my sandwich. Then when I finally decided on a variation of a classic, old school ham-salad sandwich, they put it together with generosity and a smile 😃! Just fyi - rye bread, butter, ham, cheese, rocket, carrot, onion, tomato, beetroot, salt, pepper, mayonnaise. All for $13.20. Try them, you WON'T be disappointed 😌!

5 Star Rating Deli Ziosa serves the best sandwiches in this area! Their chicken pesto sandwich is a must-try, but they also offer a wide variety of sandwiches, both with meat and vegetarian options. The ladies who work there are incredibly friendly and polite. Highly recommended!

5 Star Rating Great Mexican place with fun dishes and a very chilled setting. Really enjoyed the creative take on some dishes including the jalapeno poppers. Staff super friendly and easy to deal with. I do find the use of QR codes frustrating sometimes and prefer to just talk to someone about options. It was great that we could do this - especially after we ordered three jugs of margaritas rather than three glasses!

4 Star Rating The food was really delicious, the price matched up to the portion serve. The atmosphere was really calm, especially for a Saturday night. The staff were so friendly and attentive and helped with the menu. The drinks selections were really good, can seem limited on the non alcoholic options but they were good enough. The washroom was clean. Great food, great vibe, you can either go alone, with friends or even family as there quite a lot of space.

5 Star Rating Fantastic bar with a vibrant atmosphere and delicious Mexican food! The tacos were reasonably priced at $8 each, and every bite was packed with flavour — the fish taco was definitely our favourite. The drinks and cocktails were also impressive, with a great range to choose from. Highly recommend for a fun night out with great food and drinks!

5 Star Rating Checked out this Mexican place last weekend and really enjoyed it! The food was tasty, and the cocktails were surprisingly good—especially considering I don’t usually drink tequila. I ordered two tequila based cocktails, and both were great. One of them was the Purple Hearts, and I absolutely loved it! The atmosphere was nice and relaxed, I’d definitely come back and would recommend it to anyone looking for good food and drinks.
