We went to Rockpool Bar & Grill for our anniversary dinner and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish.
The setting is elegant and timeless, perfect for a special evening, and the attentive service ensured great experience.
We had two dietary requirements and the team managed them seamlessly across every dish, even offering to create an off-menu dessert when the regular option couldn’t be adapted to our needs.
We started with the haloumi appetizer, which was beautifully grilled with a light char and served with pickled currants that balanced the dish. For mains, we ordered the sirloin and the eye of flank, and both steaks were superb, cooked precisely as requested with rich, wood-fire flavour and excellent seasoning. While both the sides, the Potato Purée & the Creamed Corn were great, but for me the Creamed Corn is a must-have!
This is a standout destination in Sydney for fine dining and celebrating special moments
Highly recommended. I will definitely be going back…
PS: Most of the there Steaks are Halal-sourced (except one of the lines). Please inform the staff and there will happily accommodate this.

Some places stay with you, no matter how much time passes.
It’s been close to 12 years since my last visit, back when they were on Bridge Street, and returning to the Hunter Street dining room felt instantly familiar. Still one of the best places in the country for steak, this is a restaurant that knows exactly what it’s doing and does it exceptionally well.
We ordered four steaks and far too many sides, most of which I didn’t manage to photograph because everything landed on the table at once and I felt bad for the hungry guests on my table! Every cut was cooked to perfection, each side thoughtfully executed, and not a single element needed adjustment. There are no salt or pepper shakers on the table for a reason. Everything arrives seasoned exactly as it should be.
The room is as striking as ever, from the opulent green marble and art deco details to the seamless service throughout the space. It’s refined without feeling stiff, impressive without trying too hard.
The food was outstanding, but the service really stood out. Warm, polished and genuinely attentive, it’s the kind of experience that reminds you why Rockpool continues to be so highly regarded.

The venue was fabulous and the staff were attentive and friendly.
The food however, was a bit of a letdown. The jamon did not taste fresh, and the steak was not cooked to the desired doneness. This would have been fine but it also contained lots of gristle, pretty much in every slice. Overall the food lacked some refinement - steak cut thick and not cooked properly, potatoes were dripping with grease and burst in the mouth, salad had too much dressing.
Wine and oysters were delicious though.

i had an incredible dining experience at rockpool bar & grill and it absolutely lived up to the hype.
i ordered the rangers valley dry aged rib eye on the bone (800g, 53 days) and it was genuinely one of the best steaks i’ve ever had. perfect crust, beautifully pink inside, rich flavour and amazing marbling. at $260 aud, it’s a premium cut: but absolutely worth it. easy 100/10 dish.
the starters were just as impressive.
the freshly shucked sydney rock oysters from camden haven were immaculate: cold, briny, clean, and paired perfectly with the mignonette. solid 10/10 and easily some of the freshest oysters i’ve had in sydney.
to top it off, the espresso martini was excellent:smooth, well-balanced, not too sweet, and at the price it was a great way to round out the meal. 9/10.
service was polished and the atmosphere matched the elevated dining experience. if you’re after world-class steak and premium seafood, rockpool bar & grill is a must-visit.
highly recommend. 👌-jerwin parker

It was my first time visiting a restaurant with such an elegant interior, and the atmosphere felt quite grand upon entering. The seating was spacious and clean. However, the service staff seemed a bit understaffed, so it took some time to get assistance.
For the food, the highlight for me was the Moreton Bay bug pasta — well-balanced in flavor with a pleasant seafood taste. The roasted bone marrow was rich and flavorful, though a bit heavy after a few bites. The filet steak was my favorite among the meats; very tender and full of flavor, definitely recommended.
The least impressive dish for me was the sautéed cabbage with prosciutto. The prosciutto was quite tough, and the cabbage tasted undercooked and lacked seasoning — a simple salad might have been better.
Overall, it’s a very good restaurant and a solid choice for dates or celebrations. The prices are on the higher side, but the experience is generally worth it.

We love this place so much we came here twice this year (once for my birthday and once for my partner's). That should tell you how good it is!
We did the All You Can Eat and the quality is excellent. The sashimi is genuinely fresh (which can be rare for buffets) and the meat quality is top tier.
What impressed us most was the speed—we ordered on the iPad and the food arrived literally 2-4 minutes later.
Highly recommend for a celebration!

The $89 yakiniku all-you-can-eat is such great value! The meat is fresh and juicy, with plenty of choices. Service is excellent too! Definitely coming back!

This Japanese yakiniku restaurant has been around for 25 years—total hidden gem! Obsessed with their Australian Halal Wagyu (MB7+ to 9+), the grills are super hot, searing the meat to juicy perfection. And the prices are such a steal! Highly recommend for meat lovers!

Party of four booking for a special occasion with the deluxe $89 per person buffet and there were no disappointments.
If there are some improvements I could recommend: replace the button to offer at least 4 pieces of gyoza, takoyaki, chicken wings
The ipad wasn’t as sensitive as I would have liked it to be. I pressed the button to send order multiple times
Thanks for your hard work

I've dined here before so know you'll always get a varied and great wine list. What impressed me with a recent visit (after too long of a gap between visits) is how good the food is - compliments to the chef. Some real stand outs including the terrine, fried scamorza, schnitzel, steak and peppercorn sauce. Even the bread was so tasty. The Madeleines are the cherry on top and are so good. Look forward to visiting again.

Weird vibe - kind of loved it, kind of felt uncomfortable at times. A couple of obnoxious loud staff - manager sipping on resches and wine with one member clearly tipsy from negronis - A couple of wasted guys on martini’s. Even the chef chef sipping on ale.
Wine was really nice and food pretty good - cool if you are after a similar vibe just wasn’t expecting it when we decided on a city wine bar! Would come back if they calm their team down a bit and get a bit more professional.

I booked a team Christmas lunch for a group of 12. While I had been to Fix before the rest of team had not.. I decided we’d do shared plates for entrees & mains - The food was amazing! Drinks wise - I gave a price range per bottle for wine and the guys facilitated that brilliantly, we had two types of white and two types of red. The food recommendations were perfect in terms of portions as there was nothing left over. Everyone in the group commented on how well we were looked after and they’d all go back! Deffo recommend!

Food was very good but you do pay a premium. Servings were quite large and we ordered too much. The desserts we had were delicious. The service was excellent and attentive. A few things let them down. Unfortunately we were not told that still water was $10 per person, totalling $80! But they did take it off the bill when I complained. Why don’t restaurants tell you this when they ask if you want water? Especially when water is served from generic water bottles/jugs. And also groups over 6 people will be charged an extra 10%. The bathrooms were so dark you can’t see anything! Not enough hand wipes supplied either. Overall I would give 3.5 stars out of 5.

Had a wonderful experience at Spice Temple, with the commitment to service really shining through. The retro atmosphere feels intimate and comfortable, and overall the food was pretty good.
The soup to begin was delicious, made better by the fact it was complimentary. Our entrees were truely a highlight, with the chicken with strange sauce and the chow mien being must haves.
Unfortunately, the Hot Pot was really a let down, they forgot the rice noodles, added tripe, and overall the soup was bland and wagyu cut too thick, making it tough. This was really where the service was outstanding, with the dish taken off our bill and complimentary mocktails provided for the table. The gesture really showed the high level of care that Spice Temple takes, and really successfully recovered our experience.
Our mains were mixed, with the lemon chicken being tender, flavourful and crispy, but the ”signature” beef needles being tough and dry. The greens were delicious just something that could be cooked at home.
We ordered one of every dessert, and all of them were delicious, with the egg rolls and cake being the favourites.
We were so full that we asked for the complimentary petit fours to go, which they happily obliged.
We will be back!

This place serves good Chinese spicy food, though at a premium price. What I appreciated most wasn’t the food, but the setting—the carpeted floors and sound-absorbing surroundings make conversations easy and relaxed, unlike many restaurants that are uncomfortably loud these days. The food is enjoyable, but not particularly spectacular.

Dark and modern fine dining Chinese.
As a Brit do NOT expect your usual British Chinese takeaway options.
Food was lovely and a modern twist on dishes. Staff were great and so helpful.
Large wine menu.
Recommended but be prepared for a twist.
The RED coloured menu items are very spicy! Be careful

I’ve been a regular at Spice Temple for a while, but this was my first time trying their new lunch dumplings. They’re quite different from traditional Chinese dumplings, but still really tasty and a refreshing twist—definitely worth trying.
The atmosphere here is always a highlight—stylish, intimate, and perfect for a long lunch or dinner. I especially love their zodiac cocktails, which are so unique and make the experience feel special every time.
Always a great spot to come back to!

So simple yet so delicious. Hits the spot no doubt for a classic sandwich… the Will is the best thing ever and it’s the kinda thing you’d try and recreate at home but fall short. Served with a smile, made fresh and saw the worker give out freebies to our healthcare workers. Ridiculously cheap for what you’re getting, such a good well kept secret.

I had the gluten free chicken and prosciutto sandwich (toasted). It was lovely and I especially loved the Gorgonzola 😻 I did find my gluten free bread to be pretty dry and super crusty. I know it can be hard to find good gf options… also I just felt like a little pepper and tomato would be a great addition to this sandwich.

Enjoyed this place as they had veggie and vegan options! Service was great. Got the veg Mediterranean on sourdough, which was excellent and my partner got the Tempeh Burger (removed Tabouli) on sourdough and he enjoyed that. Would recommend. It’s a grab and go shop, so have to find a bench elsewhere but would highly recommend!

Absolutely amazing! Every dish was perfectly cooked and it was delicious. Sydney Rock Oysters were to die for and Wagyu Steak, Striploins and Double Lamb chops were best steaks I have ever had. Charred Sweetcorn, Paris Mash and Beans were also very well seasoned and it was amazing complements to the steaks.
Deserts were perfect way to finish the great night!
Highly recommended!

Great atmosphere with friendly, attentive staff. The food was excellent — the meat was cooked perfectly to order and couldn’t be faulted. It’s on the pricier side, but that’s expected given the quality and overall experience

Chophouse was really solid. Steak was the star — juicy, well cooked, and full of flavour. Burrata to start was fresh and light, and the sides were done right. Dessert didn’t disappoint either (rum baba was especially good). Would come back.

Great evening here, wonderful service and perfectly cooked steaks. Not as expensive as some other similar restaurants so great value too. They pour your drinks at the table for you as well which is a great touch.

I’ve been here many times and it never disappoints.
You can always count on a great steak, solid sides, and excellent starters and desserts.
I’ve never had a bad meal or a weak dish here.
The T-bone and ribeye on the bone are standouts.
We usually share the 1.4kg T-bone and it’s always cooked perfectly and full of flavour.
The oysters are also very good and worth ordering.
I’d recommend this place without hesitation.
Just make sure you book ahead if you’re going on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday.

Beautiful, elegant and charming Japanese restaurant in the heart of Sydney. Azuma will warm to those seeking authentic and careful crafted cuisine. Whether you’re looking for an elegant night out or an impeccable business lunch, Azuma will rise to the occasion.

Azuma feels different from many Japanese restaurants in Sydney - run mostly by Japanese staff, it carries an authenticity and quiet elegance that is not at all touristy. Even the wall of fine wines adds to the understated beauty of the setting.
The food was exceptional throughout. I particularly enjoyed the variety of seafood dishes, each prepared with delicacy and depth of flavour. The desserts were equally memorable - refined yet playful - and one, presented with a flickering light, delighted my niece during a family celebration. It was a thoughtful touch that made the evening feel special.
Azuma balances refinement and warmth in both service and food. It has quickly become a place I would return to, and one I would recommend to anyone seeking true Japanese hospitality in Sydney.

I'm on a personal mission to find the best sushi and sashimi and have been fortunate to have struck gold with Azuma. I have now had lunch here two weeks in a row, first time by myself and second time bringing my partner after listening to me rave about Azuma during my first visit!
Food is consistent and beyond exceptional, the sashimi and nigiri were so fresh and delicious it took us both right back to Japan. The food is prepared and presented with fine precision and skill, which is hard to come by in Sydney when it comes to Japanese food. There are lots of options in Sydney but I am after a very specific experience and Azuma ticked all the boxes for me. Food is obviously important but it's the collective experience with wait staff, chefs and restaurant space to elevate it from just being amazing food to a truly magical experience. Everyone there is genuinely friendly and warm, I had great chats with Mickey she's truly lovely! I feel so fortunate to have found a slice of Japan so close to home, I will be back again without a doubt!

We recently visited Azuma for a family gathering and had a wonderful time. The atmosphere was cozy, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal together.
Azuma might just be the best Japanese restaurant in Sydney. The Azuma Signature Nigiri or Sushi IX, Tempura, and Wagyu Tataki were all excellent and left us wanting more.
The service was exceptional, adding to the overall fantastic experience. I highly recommend Azuma for anyone looking to enjoy delicious Japanese cuisine in a warm, inviting setting.

Located in the heart of the CBD, The Flynn is a standout choice for after-work drinks or a casual business lunch. It masterfully blends 1940s charm with a high-energy sports bar vibe, making it versatile enough for both a quiet dinner in the back and a rowdy game on the big screens.
Vibe: Chic but unpretentious, featuring eclectic decor and a popular outdoor terrace.
Food: Known for high-quality pub classics; the southern fried chicken burger and artisan pizzas are local favorites.
Drink: A solid selection of craft beers and creative cocktails, with a popular Happy Hour from 5 pm to 7 pm.
It’s an ideal "escape the office" spot that offers great value for its central location.

Excellent value lunch offerings at Deli Ziosa. Very popular but the staff are working at warp speed and getting through the lines at the lunch rush.
I ordered a small salad ($11) with 2 choices. One was Cajun Chicken Pasta and the other Chicken Caesar Salad. Both were tasty and the Cajun one had a bit of bite to it. Interestingly the Cajun chicken used dark meat in the salad while the caesar had chicken breast pieces. They really packed it into the container.
No internal seating and good luck finding a spot in the MLC foodcourt. I enjoyed my salads on the steps outside in the sun.
Great value.

I used to work in King St near the MCL Centre, and Deli Ziosa was our "go to place" for coffee, lunch and sometimes breakfast. The food was always excellent, consistent and very yummy. The coffee was fantastic.
So today, 10 years later, I find myself in the City needing some breakfast! Guess what? Deli Ziosa is still there, with the same everything, and surprise, surprise, the prices haven't gone up that much. Large flat white, less than $5, and a very yum bacon and 2 egg roll, less than $10. What's not to like! 👍🤪

Righto. I was not planning on leaving a review for this excellent "sandwich shop" (it does much more than sandwiches!), which is why I didn't take photos when there. But when I got back to my desk and launched into my sandwich, I just knew I had to say something. This is one of the few places where you can still get a sandwich made with your own combination of fillings. My sandwich was AMAZING - one of the most delicious and satisfying I've ever had, and that's saying alot! It started with the service, they were very tolerant of me just standing there trying to work out what ingredients I wanted on my sandwich. Then when I finally decided on a variation of a classic, old school ham-salad sandwich, they put it together with generosity and a smile 😃! Just fyi - rye bread, butter, ham, cheese, rocket, carrot, onion, tomato, beetroot, salt, pepper, mayonnaise. All for $13.20. Try them, you WON'T be disappointed 😌!

Had the roast beef wrap because there were no Chicken pesto sandwich/wrap left (30 minutes until closing time).
Very chewy roastbeef, too little sauce compared to the bread which made it dry, too much spinach compared to dried tomatoes and cheese. But it was edible and made me full. Service was fine and quick.

Great Mexican place with fun dishes and a very chilled setting. Really enjoyed the creative take on some dishes including the jalapeno poppers.
Staff super friendly and easy to deal with.
I do find the use of QR codes frustrating sometimes and prefer to just talk to someone about options. It was great that we could do this - especially after we ordered three jugs of margaritas rather than three glasses!

Fantastic bar with a vibrant atmosphere and delicious Mexican food! The tacos were reasonably priced at $8 each, and every bite was packed with flavour — the fish taco was definitely our favourite. The drinks and cocktails were also impressive, with a great range to choose from. Highly recommend for a fun night out with great food and drinks!

The food was really delicious, the price matched up to the portion serve. The atmosphere was really calm, especially for a Saturday night. The staff were so friendly and attentive and helped with the menu. The drinks selections were really good, can seem limited on the non alcoholic options but they were good enough. The washroom was clean. Great food, great vibe, you can either go alone, with friends or even family as there quite a lot of space.
