The first Korean restaurant I went when I started work in Sydney 2012.
Ever since than I will drop by once a while for a meal or two with my friends and colleagues after work or after booze hour as they open till past midnight.
Food is really good missus loves their spicy pork especially, but a year or two back the dishes seems to shrinks. Cutting cost maybe but still we keep on visiting as the atmosphere and ambience is cool and friendly and service is fast and efficient too.
Pressing the bell on the side of table for ordering or service. Staff will always repeat your order to final confirm. All the floor staff are Korean, even the manager but simple English is no problem to them. If they can’t answer your questions, they would ask the manager or senior to attend your table so there is nothing to worry bout the orders got wrong.
It’s very busy every time and sometimes we have to wait for half an hour + to get a table for 2 only but the place is really good, consider on the fast pace and non-stop customers coming in and out.
You wouldn’t regret to dine in here for sure, I’ve been around for 6 years in madang and still can’t get enough of it. Had my pre 40th birthday dinner and drinks last year there too.

Fried Chicken is amazing, under the good skill of frying and delicious sauce~What I ordered is the sweet and spicy flavor. Highly recommended! (I will suggest it as my favorite fried Korean style chicken in city)
Spicy seafood soup and noodles are under average restaurant level, which are not bad and not excellent as well.
Environment is clean but poor lighting.

Loved this Korean BBQ place. Queue was a bit of a wait despite being a Tuesday night, but it was worth it. The seafood pancake was crispy and had lots of flavour. The meats were marinated and they changed the hot plates regularly. The fried chicken was good, too.

Friendly and efficient service. Venue was very Covid aware which was reassuring. Food was very nice but not outstanding. We had the BBQ option. The Wagyu Beef option was the most expensive option, but it was a little bit tough - it seemed to have a low fat content. Not sure if it was really Wagyu or not? Some options for mixed platters of beef, pork, chicken and seafood together would be a nice addition. Decent value for the price paid.

Nice and authentic Korean restaurant with gas/charcoal grills. You have around 20 different meats to choose from for the grill, partially marinated and partially raw. The waiters are nice, fill up the side dishes on request, and also frequently change the grill plates on which you put the meat on. You also have Korean beer and 2 Soju to choose from as well. Would recommend visiting.

My gorgeous partner took me here for our anniversary and it was such a beautiful experience. The atmosphere was lively, very crowded with lots of chatter all around. But, it created such a nice, warm vibe.
The $34 lasagna was absolutely incredible!! The sauce was rich, full of flavour and honestly addictive. The portion was very generous and worth every dollar.
We also had the $34 Carnivora wood-fired pizza and it was just as impressive. The base was perfect, the crust had that amazing crunch and the toppings were clearly high quality and so tasty. Every bite was delicious. I wanted more.
I enjoyed everything so much and already want to bring all my friends and family here. We were too full to try dessert this time, but it’s definitely on the list for our next visit. Highly recommend , a must try!

Macchiato is simply amazing! I've popped in for breakfast with my husband and enjoyed lots of other meals there too. Quick tip: breakfast officially stops at 11:30 AM, so now you know! We actually arrived right at 11:30 AM without a booking, but they were super friendly and happily took our late breakfast order.
We tried the Mediterranean and Zaatar plates, and wow – beautiful choices and huge portions! Every single flavor was spot on. My only wish is that they'd serve breakfast all day!
I seriously can't recommend Macchiato enough. It's perfect for brunch, lunch, dinner, a quick snack, or even pizza. Yes, it can get a little lively, but hey, it's an Italian place, and Italians are all about that loud, happy energy! Go check it out! But have your reservation first. It's hard to get a table.
After the breakfast, I’ve gathered a group of 9 people for a dinner on 21 Feb 2026. We’ve had wood fire bread, calamari, salad and steak along with wine and cocktails. I’ve taken only one picture of the steak. My group loved the restaurant and the food. We’re planning a second visit. Katie served our table and she was fantastic responding all the questions and giving suggestions. Lovely service and highly recommendable!

There was a long queue during dinner time when we came. We reserved in advance so we get a table quickly. The food was perfect, Max was very helpful and have a sense of great humour, which made our dining experience even greater. Would definitely recommend anyone to come here for a dinner, a great place for gathering.

Every time we travel outside of Dubai and visit Sydney, we never fail to dine at Macchiato. It has truly become one of our favorite spots. The Lebanese manager (we sadly forgot his name) has always been exceptionally kind he remembers my husband every time and welcomes us with such genuine warmth. His hospitality alone makes every visit special.
The food is consistently amazing, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. The ambience is lively and happy, and it’s wonderful to see people enjoying their meals and having a great time. The overall experience from the service to the atmosphere always makes us feel at home.
Macchiato never disappoints, and it remains one of our must visit places in Sydney. Highly recommended 💝

The Menu was full of numerous vegetarian dish options. Several types of soups. Almost ordered the Avocado Soup, was very curious, but opted for the Wonton Soup instead. Lots of fancy, good looking dishes, with nice flavours. All quite tasty. However, I found it odd...a Chinese restaurant...didn't have any Fried Rice or Chow Mein dishes. These could easily have been incorporated into their vegetarian theme.
Place was busy!! So seems very popular. Thus, resulting in a need to make reservations.

Absolutely fantastic place, we were so happy to find a Chinese restaurant that is both vegan and has plenty of gluten free options for those with intolerances. Mother Chu herself is delightful, very sweet and offers excellent service. We got a variety of dishes and all were top quality in taste and fair serving sizes, but our absolute favourite was the 8 grain desert with rice balls, which had sesame in them! The flavours were so well balanced, it was rich but not heavy, and the texture of the rice was perfect. Good came out within 15 minutes of ordering and I also really appreciated that there was no background music and it was easy to talk to one another.

This was highly recommended by someone, and we wanted to try how a complete vegetarian Chinese restaurant will taste like ! And it was as really great! There were lots of options and had added pictures to make your choice as a lot of ingredients were unknown and a lot of dishes we tried for the first time ! We had a great time picking and choosing and everything tasted great.. couldn’t really pick up on anything negative. Service however faltered.. dishes were brought in late, the server kept forgetting things that we had asked for and that basically costed them five stars. A good food accompanied by good service is what people come for. However still thing the restaurant is great and a must try if you are in city

A must visit for vegans in Sydney! Such delicious food. We had the moss soup, spring rolls, tofu stir fried, and vegetarian curry and all were 10/10. Managed to squeeze in dessert, which was the summer bun and the star of the show. Thank you Mother Chu!

I tried their Korean fried chicken and it was SO good! The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with the sauce perfectly balanced — not too sweet, not too spicy. The portion was generous and the flavor really hit the spot. The place has a nice vibe and the staff were friendly too. Definitely a must-try if you’re craving proper Korean fried chicken! 🍗✨

Best Korean BBQ buffet i’ve ever been to, and trust me i’ve been to countless over Sydney. With this price and quality i doubt there’s anywhere else you’d want to go because it not only has the widest menu range i’ve seen in all of sydney but it is tasty as well.
I highly recommend and the staff is extremely nice and checks up on you frequently and wait time isn’t long either often coming within around 5-10 mins max!

After 15+ years, this is still my favourite Korean BBQ restaurant.
Go to dishes:
Goon man doo (fried dumplings)
Hae mul pajeon (seafood pancake)
Youk hwei (beef tartare)
Mul neng myun (cold noodles)
Woo seol (ox tongue)
Wash it all down with some beer, soju or my personal favourite, makgeolli.

A hidden gem for meat lovers! They serve both grilled meat and hotpot, with excellent meat quality and flavors that are rich yet refreshing. The place can be a little hard to find, but it’s so worth it once you dine here. Enjoying the meal with friends makes the experience even more delightful. Highly recommended for a cozy and satisfying food adventure!

Absolutely loved this place! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a cozy ambiance and attentive service. The staff were professional and detail-oriented — they replaced plates and cutlery between courses, and even matched the utensils to each dish, which was very impressive.
Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. You can really taste the care and quality in every bite. With such great food, thoughtful service, and reasonable prices, it’s definitely one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while. Highly recommend!

What an absolute delightful experience! Old world charm at this restaurant. Think white linen table cloths, linen napkins gently placed on your lap, old school maitre d. Impeccable service. Provided a detailed description of the specials, the Chef would be appreciative and impressed. He knew the dishes well and made wonderful recommendations.
We had the beef carpaccio- with horseradish - the beef so thinly sliced with shavings of Parmesan melted in your mouth. The stuffed zucchini flowers with ricotta and spinach were perfect. The snapper with potato salad, divine. The deconstructed tiramisu 😋 good lord it was good!
The service was immaculate. Attentive, professional in all the detail. It was a wonderful dining experience, the food was perfect, the service above par.
Do yourself a favour, don’t judge a restaurant if you think it isn’t “high end”. This restaurant hit all the marks, ticked all the boxes. Good food, exceptional service. What a great find!!! An absolute gem. Thank you for our dining experience 🙌
Frantastic Foodie Finds - 6 months ago
The food was disappointing for the price point. The presentation was well done. However, in general all dishes’ flavours were “separate” and inharmonious, e.g. you can taste the salt away from the food itself (so it tasted confusingly salty but bland at the same time), and the side sauce/puree were often bland and did not blend well with the main dish. The garnish for both our lamb appetiser and salmon main dish was too burnt and produced an unfortunate bitter taste.
With regard to service, the server became quite short/terse with us as soon as we said we won’t order drinks/wine (we do not drink). All in all it was quite a disappointing experience for the price point.
I hope this is a one time occurrence, as the restaurant has a good review, and I trust others had a better experience.

The food was stunning , we had Pacific oysters which were sensational, the calamari was so tender and tasty. The lamb was very well cooked and extremely tender. We all enjoyed our meals, well worth visiting. We have eaten there over 15 times and have never had a bad meal. The service is very good and attention to detail is perfect.

The staff are kind, friendly and polite. The olive oil is very tasty. All the dishes were delicious, but the dessert creme brûlée was creamy and exquisite.

Decent food, decent service and lots of tables available on a Tuesday evening.
The cabbage rolls were pleasingly meaty and all the food we tried was good without being amazing or different. The decor is nice grecco kitch. It was just an easy dinner option for some weary travellers. It looked like you buy desserts as well.

Great menu. Mezze Plate for Two was so tasty & there’s a bit of everything on the plate. Spanakopita was so good. Moussaka was such a hearty dish, I really enjoyed it. Plenty of vegetarian menu. Very friendly service too. Their vibe is retro/old school vibe, which I love! Perfect for dining with large group.

just down from our apartments on Pitt Street and we had booked online. Had plenty of availability. Decor inside is typically Greek which made for a nice setting. We ordered the prawn cutlets and prawn saganaki as mains. Cutlets were simply fried king prawns which came with chips and a side salad. Cooked lovely and tasted good. The Saganaki whilst nice was a little small and could have done with more rice to go with the sauce. Overall a nice restaurant but perhaps a little more food for the price would have been good.

Homemade style food. Generous portion. The owner didn't seem to greet any of us when we walked in. Almost couldn't care less even when I said 3 people. Food was good and the serving staff was fantastic, friendly, efficient. Their chef greeted us as we walked in.

Amazing recommendations from a friendly staff!!! I love Greek food now:) but To be honest, the smell inside the restaurant was a bit concerning. There was a slightly humid, musty scent that made it a little hard to feel comfortable. The food and service were good, so I think the experience would be even better if the indoor smell could be improved.
