We celebrated our 6 year anniversary at Bistro Papillon, and it was an absolutely flawless experience from start to finish. If you are looking for an authentic, warm, and delicious French dining experience, this is it. We started the night with the French onion soup and the escargot, both of which were spectacular and packed with classic, rich flavors. For our mains, we shared the incredibly tender beef bourguignon (perfectly complemented by sides of smooth mash and greens) alongside the beautifully crisp and flavourful duck confit. A special shoutout to the Le Colonel palate cleansers. They were a fantastic, refreshing touch that set us up perfectly for our mains and sweet finish. For dessert, we treated ourselves to the Île Flottante and the crème brûlée, which the staff kindly brought out with a lovely "Happy Anniversary" & candle touch on it. Beyond the phenomenal food, what made the night extra special was the staff. They were incredibly patient as they let me practice some of my basic French phrases with them! It gave the whole evening such an authentic French atmosphere. We had an awesome night, felt incredibly looked after, and will definitely be back the next time we have a special occasion to celebrate. C'était superbe!! Merci beaucoup!

I didn't quite like the food. The duck pasta was too salty for my liking while I feel the other dishes were a bit bland. The coffee and the service were both great though. My colleagues liked the beef bourguignon. The place is too packed so a reservation is recommended. It is loud inside which makes it hard to talk sometimes but the design of the place is good.

‘Early’ birthday lunch for my wife at this wonderful French Bistro. Fabulous food, including vegetarian options, expansive French wine list and attentive and caring staff. We couldn’t fit in dessert so will definitely be back. We often travel by train and the bonus is that Bistro Papillon is only a very short walk from Wynyard Station. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys genuine French cuisine. 🍷🍷😊😊

The French onion soup and beef tartare were the best I've ever had - incredible. The decor and ambience made me feel like I was in France. Very attentive service despite a full restaurant. I would fly to Sydney just to come here for those two dishes (and I probably will 😄).

We visited Toko on 17/07/26 for a private dinner celebration. An intimate room was prepared for us, with the gokana banquet pre-selected by our host. Overall a great restaurant to celebrate the occasion. This is what we ate: Entrées: - Edamame (maldon salt) - Salmon tartare (ikura, wasabi miso dressing, rice cracker) ✨ - Wagyu gyoza (white-soy mustard, truffle oil) - Sashimi omakase (daily selection of seasonal raw fish) Mains - Toko signature maki (chef’s selection of maki rolls) - Softshell crab (wasabi mayonnaise) - Wagyu croquette (spiced mayonnaise, avruga) - Broccolini (goma dressing, sesame seeds) - Smoked king salmon (miso, pickled ginger) ✨ - Grain-fed scotch fillet (wafu sauce) ✨ Desserts - Dessert platter (chef’s selection of toko desserts) The salmon tartare was lovely and soft and gyoza was nice and crispy. The rolls were mostly good, one particular one tasted quite distinctly too fishy, as did the mackerel in the omakase. Other mains were solid - highlights included the salmon and scotch fillet which were both very soft and paired well with their sauces. The wagyu croquette and softshell crab were not so memorable and tasted a little generic. I thought the desserts were similarly good but nothing really stood out as amazing. Attentive service overall. We enjoyed our dining experience here at this lovely venue! 💰= $125pp (set menu not incl drinks)

We came here for dinner with three people and didn’t have a booking, but we called ahead and the team was very accommodating. From the moment you walk in, the space is stunning. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a really striking aesthetic that sets the tone for the evening. The menu feels fresh and thoughtfully designed, showcasing Japanese food in a way that’s both refined and approachable. Every dish we tried was beautifully plated and full of flavour. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the presentation and the ingredients. Service was excellent. The staff were warm, attentive and knowledgeable, and the waiter who looked after us was particularly great throughout the night. It was also nice to see that the menu includes some really good vegetarian options, which makes it easy for mixed groups. Overall, we had a fantastic evening and it was the perfect start to a beautiful weekend in Sydney. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Amazing Japanese!! We sat at the sushi counter and loved watching the chefs The nigiri platter is just so delicious and fresh. We asked for half to be seared and they did so We loved the pork belly and miso eggplant. Yum. Also recommend the wagyu 10/10 Thank you we will return

I was a tad unhappy when the server placed us at a sharing table with a party of four. The atmosphere was a tad too loud to me and the spacing between tables was small as well. We can easily overhear others’ conversations. Though the servers were very attentive to us and got me edamame to eat while waiting for my friend. I also ordered spider maki and grilled king prawns to eat. Spider maki was very delicious and the soft shell crab tasted fresh. The prawns were cooked to perfection, with brioche for us to dip the sauce along with the prawns. I craved more of them after I finished them! We also had sashimi omakase for sharing and it didn’t disappoint. It was fresh and delicious. The highlight of the night would be Wagyu Tajima, which was cooked to perfection in medium rare to my liking. It was so juicy and flavorsome, well complemented with the condiments. We also had grilled scallops for sharing and they blew my mind with the interesting combination of ingredients. The grilled broccolini was just as delicious. Overall I enjoyed the food here but not so much for the seating experience.

At Toko Sydney 🍶 The space is beautiful—clean, modern Japanese design with a relaxed atmosphere. The dishes are more contemporary fusion rather than traditional Japanese cuisine, with a refined and detailed presentation. Our seating was in a relatively busy area, with quite a lot going on around us, so I’m not sure if there are more private seating options available. I ended up having a bit too much champagne before the meal 🥂 Without it, I probably would’ve eaten more and experienced each dish more fully.

We stopped in for a drink during happy hour and managed to snag the window table. The gentleman serving us was really friendly and helpful. We tried a grapefruit margarita and a lychee martini. Both drinks were well made, sweet without being overly so. A lovely place to stop for a drink. They have an outdoor patio too!

Reasonably priced, tasty cocktails. Great layout with multiple bars over the 3 levels. Decor looks great but there’s little to no ambience or character. It was an uncomfortable experience, especially as someone with familiarity in the industry, seeing the manager micromanage and reprimand bar staff who were doing a perfectly good job in front of the customers. For an intimate venue, it misses the mark which is a shame given the potential.

Cosy bar, great cocktails, friendly staff. Came for the happy hour drinks and tried every one, all of them good size and delicious. Bartender was very welcoming and personable. Could do with a better outdoor seating area like next door as standing around barrels isn’t ideal. Would happily come again and relax on the balcony with a cocktail.

Delicious drinks, impressed to see cauliflower popcorn was packed with cauliflower florets and no filler, impressed to see Taiwanese-style fried chicken on the menu and that the chicken had been marinated! 👍👍👍 Only critique were fries were a bit empty inside. Deserved more customers at 5pm on a Saturday!

Best beef burger ever! Decent lunch special. Pay for lunch and get one free drink. A cute little bar with so much character in it. Today i tried their daily special Wagyu steak for $15 and fish and salad. The steak came out too cold so we asked for cooking more, waited 45mins in total, it was okay but i prefer their burgers. Update2019: they have 15% off on whisky on Wednesday! New menu is also goooood!

Google Review Had a wonderful experience at the bar while celebrating my friend’s pre-birthday! The venue has a truly beautiful and iconic view, and the 360° rotating restaurant on the 47th floor is absolutely mind-blowing. It’s definitely a fantastic place to celebrate a special occasion. Just a heads-up for first-time visitors: there is a minimum spend — $160 per person for dining, while the bar is $25 for walk-ins and $50 for reservations. The service felt very premium and attentive, which added to the overall experience. I also appreciated the locker facilities, where you can safely store your handbag and belongings. Overall, a stunning venue with incredible views, premium service, and a memorable atmosphere. Definitely worth experiencing for a special celebration!

Had another incredible experience at O Bar and Dining. We came last year for our anniversary and loved it so much we had to come back again this year. The 360° revolving views over the Sydney CBD are absolutely stunning, and Roberta’s service was exceptional. Such a thoughtful touch when they surprised us with a happy anniversary dessert — made the night feel extra special. We also had the charcuterie plate and it was honestly one of the best we’ve ever had — so fresh and full of flavour, with premium cheeses and meats, and a really delicious selection of breads.

At 7pm dinner was too dark not a good choice waited for a while to get drinks I even stand and look for service. The lounge was far too dark. You can't even see the food on the plate. For a course menu, you want to see the presentation but it was too dark to appreciate anything. They need to change the lamps or add small table lights. Because it was so dark, a tray beside us with cutlery fell by accident and made a very loud noise. Staff couldn't even see it was there. For the proposal, I asked staff if they could write will you marry me on the plate. He said it's trouble to do it on the plate, so he just wrote it on a small piece of paper. For such a special venue and such a special occasion, we expected a bit more effort and wow factor. A handwritten note on a small piece of paper felt very bland and not special at all. Thanks though he try his best We celebrated our wedding proposal there but it didn't feel celebrated. Food good, view great, but lighting and service for special occasions needs a lot of improvement.

views a stunning and one of the best in Sydney. However, I believe the restaurant should consider opening at least an hour before sunset so guests have enough time to enjoy the full sunset experience, as it is a major part of what makes the location special. As for the desserts, they were unfortunately disappointing. I ordered the souffle after seeing photos online, especially the beautiful presentation in the copper dish, but it was served differently when it arrived. The taste also did not meet my expectations. It lacked flavour and was neither distinctly sweet nor savoury, making it quite underwhelming.

Absolutely stunning views with great service. However, I would say on the expensive side of things but we were aware of that before going. It was a special occasion, for my birthday which was acknowledged. So with the add ons for specific parts of the menu this did exaggerate the bill but still a 5 star venue. Would never get tired of those views especially at sunset. And our host Matthias was exceptional!

Ash St. Cellar is a beautiful restaurant with a classic, vintage feel that creates a refined yet relaxed atmosphere. We ordered a few dishes to share: the tuna crudo, burrata, and focaccia. The standout was definitely the tuna crudo. It was incredibly fresh, full of flavour, and the portion was surprisingly generous compared to other restaurants. The focaccia was also excellent. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, not too heavy, and a perfect size for two people to share. The burrata was prepared a bit too on the sweeter side for my taste, but when eaten alongside the salty tuna and fresh focaccia, the flavours balanced out pretty well. Overall, it was a lovely experience, and I'd happily come back to try more of the menu.

We had the set menu as a group of 10. Food was very tasty and the service from staff was good, no delays in bits coming to our table. Only downside was where we were sat. Outside the barriers, and in front of the street toilet door. Felt like we were a last minute thought even though we booked

An incredible dining experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is truly special, tucked away in an alleyway that feels like something out of a charming European city. The wine list is spectacular, with a beautifully curated selection that offers something for every palate. The food was outstanding. The ragù was rich, flavorful, and literally melted in my mouth. And whatever you do, don’t leave without trying the focaccia. it’s absolutely delicious 🤤

Rating: 8.5/10 Short Review: Good food, great staff, good location. Long Review: Ash St. Cellar is an amazing restraunt, with high end food, wine, and service. With a casual/smart vibe, Ash St. Cellar provided us with a positive food experience that not only was tasty, but was interesting flavours that I haven’t had before! We got the olives, Focaccia, Brisket Burger, and Steamed Pipis. All the food was presented warm, and was incredibly impressed with both the Focaccia and the Brisket Burger. The Focaccia, served with Olive Oil and black garlic vinegar, was warm and beautifully crunchy. The Oil and Vinegar had a wonderful tang, and was worth it. The Brisket Burger, with Blue Cheese, Caramelised Onion, and Mustard Mayo. I was pleasantly surprised and shocked at the taste, which was tangy, but shockingly melt in your mouth. The blue cheese adds a special kick that I haven’t had before, and the caramelised onions (although a bit messy) made the burger. The staff here were FABULOUS. Joking with us and also making us feel like family, they should be commended for their service. The major downfall I had was table size and how cold it was. Having a couple space heaters outside, either attached to the walls or free standing, would’ve really made the experience that much better. It was quite cold, and did slightly make my experience worse. Also, the tables were slightly too small, and we sometimes struggled to fit all of our food and drinks. Overall, will definitely come again and have the same food. It was beautiful, and did not let me down.

We visited this place on Friday night and loved the outdoor seating area's atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive. The mains were enjoyable, but the pannacotta didn't quite hit the mark – it was overly liquid. Overall, a pleasant experience with some room for improvement in the desserts.

We've been coming to Mr Wong for about 15 years. Whether for a birthday, wedding celebration or anniversary... or just because. This place is beyond exceptional. From the food to the service. It never fails. The last few times we've been, we are served by the most delightful person named Marie. She IS just the kindest and most beautiful soul and ALWAYS goes out of her way to welcome us and have a little chat. In fact all the staff are great, but Marie is a special person! We have never had a bad meal here which is why we come back, time and time again! Our recommendations are: the fried rice, steam ginger toothfish, beef cubes and pork hock! We always make sure to over order as well, because there's nothing like a bit of take away from Mr Wong 👌

We had flew from Melbourne just the day before & weren’t too sure where to eat & decided to book a reservation here at Mr. Wong.. we left very happy after having some delicious dishes & cocktails! First picture is Scallop & Prawn shumai and the other is Pork & Prawn shumai! Very tasty! Maybe a little on the pricy side (approx $60 for 8 shumai) onto the next photo we had the Ora King Salmon! Very flavoursome, nice portion size for an entree & a little spicy which we loved! For mains we had Chongqing Fried Chicken & Singapore Noodles! The chicken was yummy & just kept wanting more and more! The noodles were some of the best I’ve had! Cocktails were delicious we had the one our waitress recommended us but I cannot remember the name of them unfortunately! It was similar to a spicy margarita if that helps! Great restaurant! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had the BEST glass noodle here. The dishes were tasty, I love Chinese Food. Mr. Wong definitely exceeding my expectation. We were visiting for late lunch ard 2 PM. The place was not too busy and they have a lot of seatings. But I believe at lunch and dinner time must be packed. Service was nice too. The host helped us to carry our stroller up the stairs because our toddler was still sleeping when we arrived A little info for the pricing, you may want to check their menu prices before visiting. Do not expect a Chinese typical restaurants’ prices, this is considered as a decent restaurant and the food is definitely worth the money to me.

Everything about this place left a lasting impression. The old Hong Kong–style atmosphere is truly something special, with whole ducks hanging just like a traditional market, giving the space a feel that is completely authentic. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the cocktail menu more than held its own. My drink was perfectly balanced, the kind you sip slowly because you don’t want it to end. Service was impeccable. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, always nearby and ready the moment you needed them. An absolutely incredible dining experience at Mr. Wong! We enjoyed the amazing banquet, and every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavour. A special mention must go to Frank—without a doubt, the best waiter in Sydney! He did an exceptional job looking after my partner and me throughout the entire night, making us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. Frank even arranged a customised dessert for my partner’s birthday, which made the celebration extra special. Outstanding food, brilliant atmosphere and unforgettable service. We can’t wait to return!

Arrived at ~6:30pm on a Thursday, got a cute little table for two after a few minutes confused about where exactly it was. It is a little hidden and had it not been for the A-frame sign out front, we wouldn’t have found it with all the scaffolding from the construction around the building - it was more difficult than I imagine it usually is. We ordered small plates (zucchini coins with truffle mayo, crispy halloumi fries, Mac and cheese balls) and 3 x birria tacos. All the food was delicious and was a good amount of time from ordering to serving. For cocktails we ordered the Bramble and Mee Maw Iced Tea - both delicious though the bramble was majority ice chips on top. Overall nice experience, good service and really good bar bites. Our total was $106 for two cocktails, one ‘main’ and three bar bites.

Such a superb bottomless night! The cocktails are incredibly well-balanced (perfect mix of sweet, sour, bitter, and alcohol). The "Legally Blonde" signature cocktail was my favorite—fragrant and so refreshing. Food-wise, the portions are ideal for two. The fried options were perfectly crispy and the tacos were generous and delicious. Everything tasted amazing. Thank you!

The whole vibe is so unique and the appetisers and bar bites were insane. The tenders, the haloumi fingers. Man. What a place! Definitely would recommend. Great place to grab a drink eoth friends.

We walked in as a party of two to celebrate a friend’s birthday and were lucky enough to be seated outside by the pool, with heaters keeping things perfectly comfortable. We started with margaritas, along with the prawns and tuna crudo to share—both were fresh, vibrant, and absolutely delicious. The wine list is also worth mentioning, with a strong selection including one of my favourites, Soave. For mains, we opted for two entrée-sized pastas. The carbonara was spot on—rich, silky, and perfectly balanced—while the ragu was equally satisfying and full of flavour. We finished with a Wagyu rump steak, cooked to perfection and easily one of the standout dishes of the night. Honestly, everything we ordered was excellent. We hadn’t planned on dessert, but after spotting the tiramisu on the table next to us, we couldn’t resist—and it was well worth it. No regrets there. The waitstaff were fantastic throughout the night—attentive, friendly, and professional without being overbearing. All in all, a brilliant dinner in a great setting. I’d highly recommend it and would happily return.

It was pretty good. I particularly loved the meat choices, which tasted great. The tiramisu was also big and sweet, as the drinks were also interesting. Our waitress was very nice! Only thing I might nitpick would be that it’s rather dim and obviously high class, so the prices are something to consider. But hey, I’m not really familiar with Italian restaurants, so feel free to give it a try!

Unfortunately I will NEVER go back to Uccello. The food was okay, incredibly overpriced without the marivale quality. The overall vibe of the place was cool and could be so great - but the service was awful. Our waitress kept coming by pressuring us to order more even when our drinks were still full and still had food on the table. She was incredibly rude and honestly ruined the whole experience for our group. I would consider going to the jimmy’s rooftop part of it, but for Uccello it self - I’d stay away.

We celebrated a friend’s birthday at Uccello, and it was everything we hoped for and more! Nestled on the 4th floor of the Ivy building right next to the pool, Uccello is in the heart of Sydney’s vibrant dining scene, and even on a Wednesday night, the place was buzzing with energy. We chose Uccello because of the Head Chef - Akira, whose legendary homemade Italian dishes we used to order when he ran his own IG based delivery business. Now that he’s back at Uccello, we couldn’t wait to taste his creations again! And wow, he did not disappoint. Akira even came out to say hello, which made the night feel extra special. Every dish was a standout: 😋 🍝 The Duck Ragu was rich, herbaceous, and perfectly seasoned, with pasta that was al dente and bursting with flavor. 🥂 The caviar canapés were divine—each bite was a flavour bomb. 🐟 The kingfish was light and refreshing. 🥩 The Wagyu was cooked to a flawless medium rare—tender, juicy, and balanced. ☕ And the affogato? Better than any we’ve had at other Italian spots. The ambiance was relaxed and elegant, and the staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely funny, adding to the joy of the evening. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Thank you, Uccello and Chef Akira, for a truly memorable night! 🥰

The setting is beautiful and perfect if the weather is permitting. The pool, lighting, city lights..it feels great. We had very large group booked dinner and pretty much tasted everything that was good on the menu, so it's hard to fault such an evening. The drinks were quickly ordered and served, food was excellent, attention to details was just perfect. Definitely an evening to remember.
