‘Early’ birthday lunch for my wife at this wonderful French Bistro. Fabulous food, including vegetarian options, expansive French wine list and attentive and caring staff. We couldn’t fit in dessert so will definitely be back. We often travel by train and the bonus is that Bistro Papillon is only a very short walk from Wynyard Station. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys genuine French cuisine. 🍷🍷😊😊

The French onion soup and beef tartare were the best I've ever had - incredible. The decor and ambience made me feel like I was in France. Very attentive service despite a full restaurant. I would fly to Sydney just to come here for those two dishes (and I probably will 😄).

It was our first time visiting this lovely French restaurant last night. The four of us enjoyed every moment there. Ludo and his staff were so lovely and friendly, and they gave us 5-star service. The cozy atmosphere, the delicious dishes, the beautiful cocktails, and even the lemon sorbet shot were all amazing. We can’t thank you enough, Ludo. We will definitely be back now that we’ve found our favourite French restaurant in Sydney.

The tenderloin was magnificent! Perfectly seasoned and cooked! Confit of duck was also very good, the meat was soft and juicy while the skin was crispy! Would definitely visit again!

Exceptional food, authentic French cuisine. Beautiful ambience and venue. Felt like I was back in Lyon. Highly recommend the poisson with Normandy sauce. The whole menu was exquisite.

I was a tad unhappy when the server placed us at a sharing table with a party of four. The atmosphere was a tad too loud to me and the spacing between tables was small as well. We can easily overhear others’ conversations. Though the servers were very attentive to us and got me edamame to eat while waiting for my friend. I also ordered spider maki and grilled king prawns to eat. Spider maki was very delicious and the soft shell crab tasted fresh. The prawns were cooked to perfection, with brioche for us to dip the sauce along with the prawns. I craved more of them after I finished them! We also had sashimi omakase for sharing and it didn’t disappoint. It was fresh and delicious. The highlight of the night would be Wagyu Tajima, which was cooked to perfection in medium rare to my liking. It was so juicy and flavorsome, well complemented with the condiments. We also had grilled scallops for sharing and they blew my mind with the interesting combination of ingredients. The grilled broccolini was just as delicious. Overall I enjoyed the food here but not so much for the seating experience.

This was our last meal in Sydney and we’re so glad we picked Toko! The staff were very kind and accommodating. Our favourites were the lamb cutlets, black cod, and scampi foie nigiri - everything else that we ordered were also really tasty! We highly recommend this spot if you’re wanting delicious food and an amazing experience! Thank you once again to the wonderful team at Toko, we appreciate your kindness and hospitality!

I booked a group dinner here and I really could not recommend Toko more! The private room was booked out but Louise was so helpful and organised a large table for all our guests. The service and food was impeccable! Ash was incredibly accommodating and so considerate of our various dietary requirements. We picked the Entori menu, and each course was incredible. I could not have been happier that I picked Toko, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food, especially the sashimi and dessert selection! Thank you to all the amazing chefs and staff who made the dinner possible, we will definitely be back!! :D

Delicious generous portions of tasty well cooked well made food, lots of sashimi and most entree items tend to be 2 per person. For 125 this is well priced - we did swap out the mousse for the fondant for an extra 10.00. ,'can't wait to come back again and try the other stuff- the sushi platters look booked amazing,

Delicious food, attentive staff... and don't skip their desserts! The kingfish sashimi was a standout, the grilled prawns were also very nicely done, it came with mini brioche buns that was great for savouring the sauce! Chocolate fondant had this amazing and intense chocolate flavour, without being heavy and sickly sweet! The sundae was such a creative mix of textures and the hint of whisky on the foam was a great touch and all this without bordering on cloying. It's not a cheap night out, but well worth the price.

We stopped in for a drink during happy hour and managed to snag the window table. The gentleman serving us was really friendly and helpful. We tried a grapefruit margarita and a lychee martini. Both drinks were well made, sweet without being overly so. A lovely place to stop for a drink. They have an outdoor patio too!

Cosy bar, great cocktails, friendly staff. Came for the happy hour drinks and tried every one, all of them good size and delicious. Bartender was very welcoming and personable. Could do with a better outdoor seating area like next door as standing around barrels isn’t ideal. Would happily come again and relax on the balcony with a cocktail.

If you are a fan of whisky, stay clear of this place. While the selection may look great on the photos, reality is much worse… You will be paying very premium price for whiskies that already aired out so much in the bottles that they barely have the taste they should… The atmosphere is great, but that’s about it. Also the servers were extremely slow even though the place was half empty. Would not recommend

Reasonably priced, tasty cocktails. Great layout with multiple bars over the 3 levels. Decor looks great but there’s little to no ambience or character. It was an uncomfortable experience, especially as someone with familiarity in the industry, seeing the manager micromanage and reprimand bar staff who were doing a perfectly good job in front of the customers. For an intimate venue, it misses the mark which is a shame given the potential.

Burger & drink lunch special for $25 is such a good deal! The small bar looks small from outside, but they actually have decent amount of seatings, either indoor or balcony or courtyard seatings. The Mon-Fri lunch specials choices are either: burgers, skewers plate or salads + a drink (beer, wine or soft drinks). The K-Pop Spicy Chicken Burger which had sweet spicy sauce was yum! Service is friendly too here!

We visited O Bar and Dining as part of a special occasion. The views of Sydney CBD and beyond from the revolving restaurant are spectacular. Our group had dietary requirements so we ordered the plant based set menu plus the normal à la carte menu. All dishes were very tasty and very well presented. The service is impeccable from the moment we arrived to the end of the meal. O Bar and dining is not cheap but the views and classy dining room is well worth the price. Paid parking is available underneath Australia Square.

Absolutely stunning views with great service. However, I would say on the expensive side of things but we were aware of that before going. It was a special occasion, for my birthday which was acknowledged. So with the add ons for specific parts of the menu this did exaggerate the bill but still a 5 star venue. Would never get tired of those views especially at sunset. And our host Matthias was exceptional!

Went for our 10th wedding anniversary. My husband said its more for the experience than the food and I can see why. The presentation is beautiful but the portions are tiny for the price you pay and its definitely not the best food Ive tasted. The chocolate souffle was the best dish of the night. Service was good but for a $500 meal for 2, its definitely not worth it to me. The view is nice and its a one time experience for something different but I wouldn't rush back for the food.

We shared a lovely cocktail at the luxe bar on the 47th floor, and it’s quite the experience. The staff were professional, engaging, and absolutely lovely. My 80-year-old brother-in-law had never experienced anything like this, and he had plenty of questions. The team were patient, welcoming, and made him feel completely at ease. Thank you for that. The interiors are stunning. The cocktail bar is aesthetically beautiful, and the revolving seating area slowly orbits every hour so you get a perspective of Sydney from different angles. It’s a clever way to see the city without moving. There’s a $25 per person minimum charge, which covers about one cocktail, so worth knowing upfront. The only consideration is that newer tower blocks do obstruct some of the expansive views they once had. You get a bird’s eye perspective, which is fun, but you can’t see iconic landmarks like the Harbour Bridge from every angle. Go for the experience of perspective and the revolving novelty. Just manage your expectations about which iconic views you’ll actually see. It’s still worth being up that high, and I’d recommend doing it after you’ve explored the city on foot. It’s fun to pinpoint where you’ve been. Google Maps is a great tool for working that out too! Recommended by the Chic Retreats NZ.

Being our 11th Anniversary, we chose the Gold Experience menu. Firstly, the Gold Experience had us seated closest to the view....breathtaking!!! The five courses with wine pairing was divine. Our servers, especially Alexi and Mathis were a wealth of knowledge, incredibly attentive and professional. The card with "Happy Anniversary" and the special dessert was a very nice touch and made the night so memorable....considering I only said that once whilst talking over the phone about a menu change.....outstanding service. Thanks again for an amazing experience

Rating: 8.5/10 Short Review: Good food, great staff, good location. Long Review: Ash St. Cellar is an amazing restraunt, with high end food, wine, and service. With a casual/smart vibe, Ash St. Cellar provided us with a positive food experience that not only was tasty, but was interesting flavours that I haven’t had before! We got the olives, Focaccia, Brisket Burger, and Steamed Pipis. All the food was presented warm, and was incredibly impressed with both the Focaccia and the Brisket Burger. The Focaccia, served with Olive Oil and black garlic vinegar, was warm and beautifully crunchy. The Oil and Vinegar had a wonderful tang, and was worth it. The Brisket Burger, with Blue Cheese, Caramelised Onion, and Mustard Mayo. I was pleasantly surprised and shocked at the taste, which was tangy, but shockingly melt in your mouth. The blue cheese adds a special kick that I haven’t had before, and the caramelised onions (although a bit messy) made the burger. The staff here were FABULOUS. Joking with us and also making us feel like family, they should be commended for their service. The major downfall I had was table size and how cold it was. Having a couple space heaters outside, either attached to the walls or free standing, would’ve really made the experience that much better. It was quite cold, and did slightly make my experience worse. Also, the tables were slightly too small, and we sometimes struggled to fit all of our food and drinks. Overall, will definitely come again and have the same food. It was beautiful, and did not let me down.

We visited this place on Friday night and loved the outdoor seating area's atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive. The mains were enjoyable, but the pannacotta didn't quite hit the mark – it was overly liquid. Overall, a pleasant experience with some room for improvement in the desserts.

MOST HONEST REVIEW OF ASH ST CELLAR 2024 It is snack sized. Don’t bring a large group unless you’re spending a lot. Scallops: 7/10 great flavour Bread: 5/10 Beetroot: 7.5/10 very good Wild Boar Ragu: 6.5/10 It was cooked well but the seasoning wasn’t what it could be. The Wild Boar flavour was over powered by aged Parmesan. Pork Cutlet (Milanese) - 8/10 Very good, although a lot of bone. Market fish 6/10 - it was something like $36 and it’s just one fillet of John Dory overcooked, for that price there shouldn’t be any faults and it should be clever and creative. The Chicken with eggplant and Raisin: 5/10 this dish wasn’t thought through and get rushed to get on the plate. Would none order Mb9+ Wagyu rump cap: It was cooked medium rare, Any chef that knows his steak knows that this cut is tough as nails at medium rare and needs to be cooked to medium. Lack of cooking knowledge and amateur mistake, we couldn’t eat this dish, it wasn’t edible which is a problem cause it is expensive. The waiters saw us complain and turned the blind eye… that borderline ruined the experience. Desserts were good but not great, first one was a panacotta with just some pistachio and literal honey over the top which anyone could do at home. Meringue Eton mess: Was nice and refreshing, Would recommend order. Lowdown: it’s good for buisness people who don’t know about food. Not good for large groups or people who like dislike small portions.

I had a great dining experience at Mr Wong during my visit to Sydney. The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere and really captures the feel of a classic Cantonese dining house while still being modern and lively. The food was excellent and a great representation of Cantonese cuisine. Every dish we ordered was well executed, full of flavour, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. The roast meats, dim sum-style dishes, and seafood were particularly impressive, and you can tell the kitchen takes a lot of pride in delivering authentic flavours with a refined touch. Service was also very good. The staff were attentive, professional, and made the dining experience smooth and enjoyable from start to finish, even though the restaurant was quite busy. Overall, Mr Wong is definitely one of the standout Cantonese restaurants in Sydney. Great food, great atmosphere, and great service — I would happily return the next time I’m in the city.

Mr Wong did not disappoint. We did not have a reservation but managed to get a seat at the downstairs bar in this buzzing restaurant. There is upstairs and downstairs seating, plus bar seating. Booking is recommend, especially on the weekends. Service was very friendly and efficient, the atmosphere great, and although the restaurant was full, it wasn't too loud and chatting was no problem. They have a great drinks menu with everything from beers to wines and cocktails. The food was amazing, very tasty, simply delicious. Loved the steamed dim sum and the vegetable platter. Asian food at it's best.

Every dish we ordered was high quality and absolutely delicious. Since it’s Chinese cuisine, it’s best enjoyed by sharing with everyone at the table. We were especially impressed by the attentiveness of each staff member — their level of care really stood out. You’re guaranteed to have a wonderful time. Dessert was just as amazing; honestly, everything we tried was excellent. It was very busy even on a Monday, so I highly recommend making a reservation in advance.

Mr Wong was absolutely incredible. The food was outstanding, every dish was packed with flavour and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was just as impressive: elegant, vibrant, and with such a great energy. Everything about the experience felt sublime. From the ambience to the service and the quality of the food, it truly exceeded expectations. Highly recommend, we’ll definitely be back.

I visited this restaurant because of its interior design, and I really loved how many elements of the heritage building have been preserved. The atmosphere is vintage yet elegant. Each dish has its own character, and while the flavours are slightly on the salty side, they pair very well with drinks. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

Stitch Bar was amazing! Tucked away in an underground space, it has a really cool, hidden-gem vibe. My wife ordered the smoky beef tacos with sweet potato fries. I tried both and they were absolutely delicious, seasoned to perfection. My daughter had the mac & cheese balls, which were also a hit. Perfect for my 9 year old. I went with the 600g rib eye, and it was next-level incredible….a definite must-try. Cooked perfectly and so full of flavour that it didn’t need any extra sauce at all. To top it off, the cocktails were fantastic as well. Highly recommend! I should also add, service was great. Very happy!

We booked the cocktail making class for our anniversary. The venue is very cosy and staff extremely accommodating, knowledgeable and friendly. We had a great time learning behind the bar, and trying our drinks with the great food. A must for anyone that loves a cocktail and wants to have a go, learn the history of the drinks and have a great time. Thoroughly recommend and would absolutely do it again!

Booked a client meeting at Stitch. Great choice. The cocktails were really good, we had a couple of small dishes to share, Nachos, Chicken tenders and Sweet potato fries. They were all excellent. Staff were super friendly and even when it was busy they were still attentive. Great experience

A little hidden gem on one of the busiest streets in city. The atmosphere was so cool down stairs with some hidden nooks and cage areas for seating. Food was so good and the waiters were so friendly and attentive. Would 100% recommend trying this place if you are at a loose end.

Unfortunately I will NEVER go back to Uccello. The food was okay, incredibly overpriced without the marivale quality. The overall vibe of the place was cool and could be so great - but the service was awful. Our waitress kept coming by pressuring us to order more even when our drinks were still full and still had food on the table. She was incredibly rude and honestly ruined the whole experience for our group. I would consider going to the jimmy’s rooftop part of it, but for Uccello it self - I’d stay away.

Delicious tuna capraccio and tiramisu, great selection of wines, fantastic service. Beautiful interior. Prices more on high end of things. Only downside is the restaurant is next to a rooftop bar and it's very noisy, so maybe not the best place for an intimate date.

Uccello is one of those Italian restaurants where the moment you step inside, you instinctively slow down. The interior is elegant and thoughtfully designed, with warm wood tones and soft lighting that create a refined European atmosphere. It immediately feels like a place meant for a proper, unrushed meal. The food follows a confident and professional approach. Rather than trying to surprise you with extreme flavours, each dish is well-balanced and respectful of the ingredients. It’s the kind of food that makes you nod quietly and think, “Yes, this is solid Italian cooking.” Perfect for relaxed dining, conversation, and a good glass of wine. The service truly deserves recognition. Staff are knowledgeable, attentive, and polished, striking that rare balance of being present without hovering. Everything flows smoothly, making the dining experience feel calm and well-managed. Now, a gentle and humorous note — the music is… enthusiastic. At times, it feels a little more nightclub than trattoria. Turning the volume down just a touch would allow conversations to flow more naturally and elevate the overall atmosphere even further. In summary, uccello is a restaurant with strong foundations and professional execution. Four stars are given with genuine encouragement — it’s already very good, and with a little more subtlety, it could be outstanding.

Hands down one of the best Italian (if not the best) I have tried in Sydney. We went on a Wednesday evening. Less crowded, excellent service and ambience. We had: Jerusalem artichoke and pear salad. Crisp new potatoes with rosemary and aioli. Tortellini pumpkin and parmigiano in sage butter. Pork chop Milanese. White wines to go with the meal, and sweet wines to end. Everything from an excellent salad down to such amazing potatoes, and friendly /attentive service. Will certainly be back!

The setting is beautiful and perfect if the weather is permitting. The pool, lighting, city lights..it feels great. We had very large group booked dinner and pretty much tasted everything that was good on the menu, so it's hard to fault such an evening. The drinks were quickly ordered and served, food was excellent, attention to details was just perfect. Definitely an evening to remember.
