Market City
The Market City offers a unique shopping experience

Located in Chinatown, directly above the famous Paddy's Market, Market City has everything you would find in a major shopping mall, but with a more vibrant market atmosphere.
There are three levels of shops and services at Market City including a Food Court, a Chinese Restaurant, a Supermarket, and a large indoor amusement centre. In total there are over 170 shops and services including 30 factory outlets offering something for everyone.
If you happen upon Market City at the right time you may even find some great entertainment happening in the centre court (see video under the 'Photos and Video' Tab). Together with Paddy's Market, this is definitely one of Sydney's top shopping spots.
Nearby attractions: Paddy's Market, Chinatown, Powerhouse Museum, Capitol Theatre, Chinese Gardens and Darling Harbour.

Market City is such a fun place to visit in the heart of Haymarket. It has a great mix of outlet shops, Asian supermarkets, and plenty of food options. Paddy’s Market downstairs is always buzzing – perfect for fresh fruit, snacks, and souvenirs. The centre itself feels clean and well looked after, and the dining area upstairs has some really nice Asian restaurants. It’s also super easy to get to by train or light rail. A good spot to shop, eat, and explore if you’re around Chinatown!

The market looks different on weekday (Mon-Tue)/ weekend (Wed-Sun). When the Hay St Market opens on Wed, the place is crowded w shoppers and diners.
Recommended to have a feel of weekend market.

Market City Shopping Centre (MCSC), Haymarket is a multi-cultural shopping centre located in the Haymarket area of Sydney's CBD, specifically within the Chinatown precinct. It's known for its combination of factory outlet shopping, diverse retail stores, and its location is above Paddy's Markets (ground floor). Paddy’s Markets is Australia’s oldest traditional market in Sydney in 2 locations, Haymarket and Flemington (located 15 minutes from CBD). Hay St. Market on the ground floor is Australia’s biggest foodie market with over 20 different cuisines. The MCSC is housed in a heritage-listed building, originally established as a fruit and vegetable market in 1909. There is an Asian food court on the 1st floor. The 3rd floor has some other dining options. The shopping centre is on the 2nd floor. MCSC is easily accessible, being a short walk from Central Station.
