My family and I enjoy visiting Hokkaido Ramen Santouka on West Broadway in Vancouver. Reminiscent of my travels through Hokkaido and the Ainu village. Interesting ramen flavors change seasonally. Happy hour and combo specials available.

Food is good , but when I paid the bill, the waitress passed me the credit card machine, and she chose the 20%tip option for me. I had to asked her to change it back to the tip option menu. This kind of service it's unacceptable.No wonder Saku was full house but Hokkaido wasn't.

I honestly don't know what to expect when I walk into ramen joints across Vancouver. It's hit or miss. In this case it's a bit of a miss. The miso ramen was ok, it half looked like what the menu showed. No Narutomaki fish cakes came with my bowl even though it showed in the menu. The flavour wasn't dialled in either. It was average, and for the price I guess you can go to Danbo or Menya. Have a slightly better experience. Overall the ramen was average, and honestly a little expensive? - "ちょっと高い..." as some would say.

Great ramen spot! You can choose between a small or large size, and there are options for individual bowls or combos — though I don’t think the combo saves you much. I really liked the ambiance: not too loud, not too quiet. Service was good, and the ramen tasted great. The only thing is the chashu could have been a bit more tender. If you like spicy food, you can ask the server for their chili pepper — it’s worth trying!

I had a ok experience at Fatburger on Broadway and ordered a cheeseburger with chili fries. The cheeseburger was good overall, but the beef patty itself did not seem to have much seasoning. It felt like the flavor relied mostly on the toppings rather than the burger patty. I think seasoning the patty a bit more would make a noticeable difference and really elevate the burger. The chili fries were enjoyable, but the fries could have been cooked a little longer. Making them extra crispy would help prevent them from getting soggy once the chili is added, which would improve the texture and overall experience. All in all, it was a solid meal and worth trying once. I don’t see myself coming again and I would have expected slightly better execution given the reputation. With a bit more attention to seasoning and crispiness, this location could be much better.

Yummy burger and great service! We came out of a physio and wanted something quick and this place was the closest food place. Turns out this was also the best burger and quickest service ever! Thank you, will come back again!

I ordered the original farburger (without a menu). It was good and generously garnished, but for 14.91$ I was expecting a more distinctive taste. To me, it felt like a decent, regular burger rather than something particularly special for the price. Additionally, the burger was fresh, hot, generously garnished and the ketchup was free! The service was genuinely lovely, the waitress Jane was very kind and friendly, which I really appreciated! One small thing I noticed when paying was that I didn’t see a no-tip option on the screen, though it’s possible I might have missed it. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience at all, but as a student, I think I would prefer to pay this price for a burger that stands out a bit more, or otherwise just go for something simpler like a BigMac menu.

I ordered the XL Double Fat Cheese with Coca-Cola and chips, and it was absolutely delicious! The burger was juicy and full of flavor, and the portion size was very generous definitely enough for one person, or even to share. The chips were crispy, and everything was served fresh. The price was reasonable and matched the quality and size of the meal. Great value for money! Highly recommend if you're craving a satisfying and tasty burger.

Amazing food and ambience. Service was a tad slow. We asked for extra cutlery when the third person joined us but it never came. The server came with the credit card machine almost twelve minutes after we got the cheque. The server was polite and apologised for the long wait

Came for Happy Hour. We got a table right away. The waiter came pretty quick and got us waters. We ordered the sunset soda which was yummy. The Blackened chicken burger had the right amount of sauce and spice. The fries were so delicious. Too full for dessert

I had an amazing experience at Cactus Club Cafe - Ash & Broadway. The atmosphere is modern, clean, and welcoming—perfect for both casual dining and special occasions. We haven’t been here for a while, so we didn’t know the place was renovated - cute! Food was freshly prepared and tasty. In my opinion, their hash brown is easily one of the best in Canada. The place was clean and spacious, with plenty of natural light. Overall, it is a pretty decent fast food location.

Visited here on New Year’s night when most other places were closed, and it was extremely busy. Huge appreciation to the team working that shift — the store was fully packed and understaffed, yet the three staff members handled everything really well. Even though it took a few extra minutes for orders to be processed, they truly did their best to serve and help every customer with patience and professionalism. Hats off to them for the great service!

I just had a fantastic experience at my local A&W and had to share. This visit was top-notch from start to finish, and it's thanks in large part to the excellent food and the incredible service from the manager, Michelle. The food was spot-on. I ordered the classic Teen Burger combo with onion rings and A&W root beer. The burger was hot, juicy, and perfectly assembled, and the fries were crispy and fresh. It's always a treat to get such a high-quality meal from a fast-food restaurant. What really made the visit special, though, was Michelle, the manager. She was friendly and attentive from the moment I walked in, making me feel welcome and valued. Her positive attitude is contagious and it's clear she takes pride in her team and their service.

If you’re around Broadway at Cambie, on a rainy afternoon, don’t miss out the opportunity to enjoy this amazing ramen restaurant. The whole place has been decorated to evoke the traditional Japanese experience with wooden seats and tables, as wells as lanterns that decorate the exterior and some charming pictures that celebrate the history of Tokyo and Vancouver. The food? They have one of the tastiest broth that I have tried, I specially recommend the Koteri shoyu ramen.

Got recommendations from a fellow Japanese friend. For an appetizer, I started with zuke salmon, a sashimi salmon with a well-marinated sauce. It was refreshing and umami. For the main course, I picked kotteri shoyu ramen. The taste was okay; however, I didn't like the cut of their pork belly cha su; for me, it needs to be thinner. For the drink, I ordered a warm sake, which is perfect for warming up your body on a chilly Vancouver fall day.

The shio ramen was ok and clear broth but a little salty. Prices are higher than average. Noodles are pretty firm and chewy. The service and atmosphere is nice though! Overall, nice to try the chicken base ramen but wouldn't purposely go again.

New to the area and have been searching for a regular ramen spot for the rainy days(& sunny ;) ). Came to Menya Raizo on a whim and a prayer and found exactly what I was looking for! The soup was delectable, the staff were pleasant and the speed out of this world! Soup was hot and the bowls were filled to the brim! Gyoza, mind blowing! So fresh and succulent. May as well have butchered the pig in the back! Pitchers of Sapporo flowed like waterfalls in a Kyosai woodcut, will return. Until then, I will be ronin.

I stopped by here for a quick lunch. The ramen was delicious. The whole place reminded me of being in Japan with the laterns and traditional cloth curtains / noren outside, cosy interior, and the staff announcing your arrival and departure in Japanese. The male waiter was super friendly and was able to accomodate my short lunch break time with his excellent service.

Had a beef and chorizo burrito and pulled pork quesadillas at this lovely place. The hot sauce was spectacular: peppery, sweet-ish, not too hot and a little smoky. Sat outdoors because inside was full due to lunch time traffic but they had heaters above head so seating outdoors was a good and viable option.

I was amazed by the food at this place. Every single taco on the menu had its own fillings! And each one was delicious in its own way. I urge every taco fan in the immediate area to call their friends and organize a taco visit to la taqueria at the earliest convenience. You will not regret this decisio. Highly recommend this restaurant.

This place is so authentic keep in mind that you do have to order in the front but when the food comes out, it’s just so amazing. I would say that the portion size is OK. The tacos are pretty small but they taste so good and are so fresh and so authentic that it makes up for the small size. They tasted really, really good. The fish tacos are a must try. The bean tacos are good, but I am not a fan of the mushroom tacos. The happy hour deals are really good too. If you’re looking to have a drink check out the pictures of the tacos that I posted.

I have been here three times since the location transitioned from La Taqueria. The food is delicious and the space is pleasant, with a nice patio. Tacos are fairly small and very expensive for their size, with three tacos being a light/moderate meal but costing $22+. Burritos are a better value proposition at $15-19 each and also very tasty. Small criticism - We got the flank steak and mushroom burritos on our most recent visit. Mine was excellent, but my partner’s had more gristle and fat than actual steak.

Drinks are fantastic! The salsa and guacamole are super fresh. I love that tacos can be made into quesadillas and burritos into bowls. The food tastes amazing, and it was served quickly! We are planning to make it our Friday dinner stop from now on 😊

Quick, efficient and friend service on a Saturday morning. Got the pork belly Benny and frittata made with tots. They were both delicious and quite generous in size. I also gave their seasonal drinks menu a chance and was pleasantly surprised by the pear chai latte.

📍Yolks Broadway Rating: 7/10 Another brunch spot with a few locations around Vancouver — always appreciate places that actually let you make a reservation! Overall, a solid brunch option with a pretty big menu, though it’s not my personal favorite compared to some other spots in the city. Chicken and Waffles ($25)
Apparently this is the classic order at Yolks, going all the way back to their food truck days. The portion was huge — four waffles and a generous amount of fried chicken. That said, both the chicken and waffles could’ve been crispier. The eggs also weren’t poached that nicely; we asked for medium and got hard instead. Blackberry Banana Bread French Toast ($22)
This was a fall special and definitely something different! Instead of traditional bread, they used banana bread as the base. Personally, I found it a bit too dense and not quite moist enough — I think brioche or challah would’ve worked better. But I did love the flavor combo of blackberry, banana, and feta cheese. My friend also made a good point: if you’ve got a sweet tooth, Yolks is worth a visit since they have so many waffle and French toast options to choose from.

I came here for late brunch, it was quite busy. I ordered Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Waffles along with their tots. The chicken is good, even not the best. But the tots are crispy and soft inside. Service was pretty fast, considering how many people they need to serve. Price is fair for the whole meal, but the portion is generous.

I ordered delivery from Sushi California, it tasted good and pretty fresh. The portion size for the sashimi was big even though I had half. The price has gone up steadily though the years. However, if you are in the area and want tasty sushi, Sushi California is pretty good.

Stumbled on this on Broadway. Both my husband and I were pleasantly surprised. I was really pleased with my salmon don. Food was clean and fresh. Waitress and chefs seem happy to be at work. We will return again when we’re in town, without a doubt.

Tried the spicy salmon in both maki and temaki. The fish tasted fresh and the spice level was balanced, not too strong. Portions were decent and service was quick. I placed order on call and was told it would be ready in 20min. I dropped by exactly 20min later and it was all prepared. 👏 Overall, a solid and reliable spot for a simple sushi meal. 🥢

Popped in for a quick lunch today before work. The food was ok, but I really appreciated the service of the two Korean servers. They were friendly and efficient. There were two other tables along with some take-out orders at the time so it wasn't incredibly busy, but it was an enjoyable experience overall. Thank you for the pleasant service!

Fri, 12-05-2025 $20.95 tax incl. make your own bowl - Atlantic salmon & albacore tuna. ~Good poké, nothing special or worth complaining about. However I will say that it would be nice if the staff in these restaurants that make your food from the ingredients in front of you could wear masks to prevent spit from getting on the meal. I would be completely ok with having to strain a bit to hear what they’re saying, instead of having to eat food with stranger’s spit in it.

It’s sooo good! The ingredients are super fresh, and the sauce is amazing! I ordered delivery, and the salads were just as fresh as if I were eating them in the store. Love it!

Westcoast Poke is always a safe bet if you're looking for good poke and fast service. My favourite part of it is that you can opt to build your own bowl and have exactly what you like. The staff is very friendly and efficient, and the place is always kept clean and tidy. It can get a bit pricey depending what ingredients you get, but it's worth it.

Affordable combos that still include miso soup when a lot of places have phased it out. Rolls that include tempura always taste fresh, and I always leave full! The staff are attentive, kind, and fast. They also read their customer's sociability well. Thank you for existing through my entire career! After eating here for seven years, it is still good!
