The Quay Market & The Shipyards

Lonsdale Quay Market is a lovely stop for food, local flavors, and a relaxed little break right beside The Shipyards. There are plenty of food stalls with different cuisines, so it is a fun place to walk around when you are not quite sure what you want but trust your stomach to make the final decision. There is seating both inside the market and outside, which makes it easy to slow down and enjoy the atmosphere. Most of the food vendors are on the ground floor, while the upper levels are mainly private businesses. I ended up treating myself to a giant ice cream and enjoyed the beautiful view across the water toward Vancouver from the north side. Honestly, good food, a nice view, and dessert in hand is a combination that is very hard to criticize. A great little spot to eat, relax, and enjoy the local vibe for a while.

Lonsdale Quay Market was honestly one of the best places we visited during our time in North Vancouver. The entire experience — from arriving through the SeaBus terminal to exploring the waterfront plaza and indoor market — felt vibrant, relaxing, and uniquely local. The market itself is beautifully designed with stunning skylight ceilings, open walkways, waterfront seating, and a modern industrial atmosphere that gives the whole place so much character. Everywhere we walked, there was something interesting to see — artisan shops, local vendors, cafés, dessert spots, wine shops, flower markets, and a fantastic food hall overlooking the harbor. We spent time exploring multiple levels of the market, enjoying the architecture, browsing the local businesses, and trying food from the food hall. The atmosphere was lively without feeling overcrowded, and everything felt very clean, organized, and welcoming. One of the highlights was simply sitting by the waterfront and taking in the incredible views of downtown Vancouver across the water. The combination of great food, local culture, scenic views, and relaxing public spaces makes this place feel much more than just a market. Whether you’re visiting for lunch, coffee, desserts, shopping, or just to enjoy the harbor atmosphere, Lonsdale Quay Market is absolutely worth the visit. It’s a perfect mix of food, community, architecture, and waterfront charm. Highly recommended for both tourists and locals visiting Vancouver or North Vancouver.

Great place for local shops and vendors to come sell their items. I do recommend if you are looking for a place to venture with your family. Unfortunately though one vendor, Sharkies has been letting smoke from burnt food into the air weekly with no improvements. It's incredibly unhealthy for the workers and customers and makes it very hard to breathe. Visibility gets very foggy and you can hear customers and workers coughing frequently. I do wish that something would happen in regards to this.
