Went for lunch at Cactus with a few family members. We ordered different things and ended up having a taste of each other's food, as we always do 😀
Every dish served was very good. I had the Feenie Burger and it was delicious. Also had the Fish Tacos which didn't disappoint either.
Another great thing about Cactus are their cocktails. They serve a wide variety at reasonable prices.
Oh, and don't forget to try the Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch Bar. I don't have a sweet tooth but it is probably one of the best desserts I've ever had!
All in all, a wonderful experience and I will definitely go back.

Great location!! Lots of corporate traffic during lunch and afternoon happy hour! Good happy hour selection. The patio is heated and covered. We sat there in January and it was perfect temperature just like sitting inside, very cosy and vibey. Would recommend sitting in the patio or the dining room. The music in the lounge area was very loud so a little hard to hear and have a conversation. So we were happy to sit in the patio. The washrooms are on the second floor and are accessible. The washrooms are very nice and clean and there is an elevator to get to the second floor if you can't take the stairs. Would highly recommend eating the salmon and the green burger and the truffle fries are a must! Can usually find a spot for a reservation same day if you check on their website. They do have a bit of a storage area if you're coming with some larger bags or things that you wanna put away just ask. Great service, they are used to large groups here.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cactus Club Cafe Bentall 5, located conveniently near Burrard Station, and it was absolutely delightful! The service was top-notch, with our server, Lois, going above and beyond to ensure our experience was perfect. The food truly stood out, with the truffle fries and prawn sushi being particular highlights. The Mediterranean bowl was also amazing, bursting with flavor and fresh ingredients.
Aside from the food, the ambiance was fantastic, featuring a lovely view that made our dining experience even more special. This place has it all – great food, excellent service, and a beautiful setting. It’s definitely a must-visit for anyone looking for a quality meal in the area. Highly recommend!

This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants of all time! The atmosphere is absolutely amazing, with a lively and inviting vibe that makes every visit memorable. The food is nothing short of delicious, and the service consistently goes above and beyond to make guests feel special.
We celebrated New Year’s Eve here, and it was an unforgettable experience—festive, fun, and filled with great energy. If you’re visiting, I highly recommend trying the Sangria for drinks; it’s perfectly balanced and refreshing. For the meal, the Bolognese is a standout—rich, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying.
I genuinely can’t wait to come back and create more wonderful memories here. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a fantastic dining experience, this place is a must-visit!

This place has gotta be one of the best Japanese BBQ I have ever had. The service was great: starting from our reception to our server. The meat quality was also superb. The salad, the miso soup, the roll, the beef sushi and the pork are all great and very yummy for my family of 6. We had such a wonderful time here. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice and we sat on a window seat that perfectly shows downtown vancouver which is great because the weather was perfect that day. View and food are both amazing. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Shabusen is one of my favorite spots, whenever I’m craving sushi and BBQ.The BBQ pork here is seriously amazing, super juicy and flavorful. Every time I come, I can’t help but order way too much of it because it’s just too good. The sushi rolls are fresh and packed with flavor, and the sashimi is buttery and melts in your mouth.Everything always tastes so satisfying.Even when it gets busy, the service stays friendly and fast, and the food keeps coming without too much wait. If you’re looking for a place that has a good mix of fresh sushi, sashimi, and BBQ, I definitely recommend this place. Always hits the spot!

Decent AYCE Sushi and KBBQ restaurant among the crowd of nearby restaurants. Service was good, though at times we would have to get our servers' attention rather than having them periodically check up on us. The food itself was good. The sashimi was pretty fresh, and the cuts of meat were delicious. Though, the sushi was a bit bland and boring - primarily the Dynamite Roll. All in all, Shabusen is one of the better AYCE options in Vancouver, and definitely give the AYCE dinner option a try.

Shabusen is by far the best restaurant of this kind in the city. Service is always great and even when they’re full and you need to wait, they take the time to let you know how long you need to wait for your table and the best is they don’t lie… if they say 10 minutes your table will be ready in 10 minutes. You can ask any server for anything and they will help you right away and even if they see you’re missing something they ask. They also clean your table on the go and a lot of times you don’t even notice. Really professional service.
Cost is one of the best parts because for all the food you can eat and the quality is totally worth it.
High recommended.

We visited on a Monday afternoon for happy hour and were seated right away as a party of three. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Our server was friendly and attentive throughout our visit.
We ordered the oysters, crab dip, and sushi sampler. The oysters were very small, but at $1.50 a shuck, it was still a decent happy hour deal. The sushi sampler was fresh and enjoyable, and the crab dip was a nice addition. Conveniently, there’s a parking garage located right next to the restaurant, which made getting there easy.

I had tried Coast a few years ago and left with a fairly good impression, especially their sablefish, which stood out at the time. I had almost forgotten about the restaurant until recently, when I came across a promotion they were offering: a fixed 4-course "Buy Up" dinner for two at half the regular price. It sounded like a great deal, so we decided to try it and turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The meal was excellent, with portions that were actually quite generous for a prix fixe menu. Each course was flavorful and well-presented, everyone in our group truly enjoyed. What made the evening even more memorable was the impeccable service from Peter. He was attentive, professional, and added a personal touch that elevated the whole experience. Thanks to both the great food and warm hospitality, we had a lovely night out.

Went for happy hour (2:30–5:00 PM) and was really impressed! Oysters were just $1.50 each, and the rest of the menu had some great treats too. Since halibut was in season, we tried the halibut ceviche and halibut popcorn—both were delicious. The space is beautiful, and the service was excellent. Special thanks to Laura for being so cheerful and making our visit even better!

We visited COAST Restaurant last Sunday for our anniversary dinner and overall had a wonderful experience. I had purchased the “Buy Up” package, which offered a $260 value for $145, a phenomenal deal! The food quality was excellent, and I would definitely purchase this package again.
I had mentioned in advance that this was for a special occasion, and the restaurant went the extra mile by giving us a nicer table and even placing a small card for us; such a thoughtful touch that made the evening feel even more special.
However, I do want to share some feedback about how the billing was handled at the end.
The package clearly stated that an 18% gratuity would be added, which I was completely fine with. But when the check came, the gratuity wasn’t included. The server mentioned that the manager forgot to add it, so he manually calculated it himself using the total bill (including tax) and entered that amount plus 18% into the credit card terminal. He then wrote two amounts on the bill; one showing the package price of $145 and another with the total including tax and tip—and asked me to calculate the difference and agree to it as a tip.
After the transaction, I felt the final amount didn’t quite align with what I expected based on the original terms. I didn’t raise it at the moment because the experience overall was positive, and I didn’t mind paying a little extra. Still, I wanted to mention it in case this was a misunderstanding or miscommunication, not anything intentional.
I truly enjoy dining at Glowbal Group restaurants and appreciate the quality and service they usually provide. I’m sharing this not as a complaint but as constructive feedback, in the hope it helps maintain the trust and transparency that keeps guests coming back.

This steakhouse offers a warm and refined atmosphere, with dark, tasteful décor that gives it a polished yet comfortable feel. We stopped in for lunch and were impressed by the quality of the food—crispy, flavorful cheese sticks and a tender, well-seasoned steak kebab that was cooked just right.
Our server was exceptionally friendly and talkative in the best way—engaging and attentive without being intrusive, which really added to the experience.
While it was a lunch visit, the menu prices and overall ambiance suggest a more upscale dining experience, making it a great option for business lunches, special midday outings, or simply treating yourself to something a bit nicer than the usual lunch fare. Overall, a great experience with quality food and standout service.

Our first visit to Hy’s, and we love it!! The atmosphere is great, and I love how open the space is, you can see chef cooking steak in the kitchen. Their cheese toast is really classic, and onion soup I like!!👍🏻 Steaks are great, price not too expensive too.

Amazing service and food! We arrived early for our dinner reservations and enjoyed Happy Hour upstairs. Karen was Amazing and took all my food allergies very seriously. The happy hour cocktails (2 ounces) for only $11. Great price. We made our way downstairs for dinner where Andy was our waiter. He was personable and informative. Our dinner was absolutely fantastic. The room is amazing and unchanged since the early 60s. We will absolutely be back. 5 stars all around! Great work!

We’ve been to the one in Whistler several times and thought we’d try the one in Vancouver. Both are fantastic, the only way this one trumps Whistler is the cool building it’s in, and its history. It is two levels and there are plenty of intimate dining spots. We can recommend the French Onion soup and the New York steak sandwich. Hys is great if you enjoy fantastic steak and red wine.

We had dinner at Hawksworth last night and overall, it was a nice evening out. A few of the dishes were larger than expected, which was a pleasant surprise given the price of dining out these days — always nice when it feels like you’re getting some value.
That said, my main — the veal cutlet — was unfortunately overly salty. And I tend to like my food on the saltier side, so for me to say it was too salty really means something. The waitress was great about it and kindly offered to replace the dish. Shortly after, the manager came by as well, apologized, and offered the same, which I appreciated. I decided not to go for a replacement of the same item as I figured it might come out similarly, and while I considered ordering something else, I just lost my appetite.
To their credit, they comped the dish and also offered a dessert on the house. So while the dish itself was a miss, the service was absolutely excellent — thoughtful, proactive, and professional from start to finish.
All in all, I’d give it 4 stars. Not a knock on the service at all, but more a reflection of the food experience that evening. Would still come back and give it another shot.

Fantastic experience from the moment I walked in. Didn't have a reservation, but was solo and it was early. The place was busy, so I got lucky. Right away I had staff attending to me. The food was phenomenal. The service was exceptional. Thanks to Sasha and the team for all their attention. Sorry I forgot to take your gift with me. Until next time!
Highly recommend,

Last night was my first time dined here which has a solid reputation, but I have mixed feelings about my experience. The ambiance and service were definitely the highlights — the staff was friendly, attentive, and the overall vibe was warm and comfortable. It’s definitely a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal.
As for the food, it was decent, but not quite as impressive as I expected. I ordered the main dish, which was good, but it was on the smaller side. Honestly, if I hadn’t added on a side, I might’ve left still hungry. The flavors were fine, but nothing that really stood out or wowed me.
Overall, the experience was pleasant, but I don’t know if I’d rush back based on the food alone. Still, if you're looking for a comfortable spot with great service, it’s worth considering.

We went to this restaurant for girls’ night and were unfortunately disappointed by the service. Our server seemed completely indifferent to us. They didn’t check in on us and forgot about our condiments. However, everyone else was great. The food was really tasty, especially the halibut and salmon— focaccia could use more seasoning, though.
Overall, it’s a good place, maybe we just caught our server at a bad day?

A Near-Perfect Michelin Star Experience—Almost
Dining at Hawksworth was an experience that flirted with perfection—until the final act.
The ambiance was elegant yet inviting, with beautiful lighting that set the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey. The service was poised, knowledgeable, and accommodating… at least until the very end.
Opting for the fixed four-course menu, I was treated to a symphony of flavors. The appetizer was an intricate balance of textures, the second course—a delicate bison dish—was flawlessly executed, and the third, a masterpiece desert, left me eagerly anticipating the finale.
Except… it never came. Instead, I was handed the bill!
Somewhere between clearing the last plate and presenting the bill, the promised fourth course simply vanished.
I initially thought it was an intentional pause, but when the waiter reappeared, it was with the check, not my final dish. When I inquired, he looked genuinely surprised, muttered something about a “mix-up,” and " I forgot" and offered an apologetic smile and brought the last course.
While the food itself was outstanding and the setting sublime, that glaring misstep was hard to overlook.
A Michelin-starred experience should be flawless, and for a set menu, every dish should make it to the table.

My husband and I had one of our best dining experiences at Black+Blue a few weeks ago. We were celebrating some good news - and the staff were so exceptionally kind and thoughtful. The food exceeded our expectations from quality, to flavour and portion size. I had the best non-alcoholic beverages I’ve ever had (I believe it was their pear lemonade). My husband and I also greatly enjoyed the seating arrangements and decor of the restaurant. My personal pet peeve is when fine dining restaurants try to maximize seating and place their guests and tables like sardines. This was absolutely not the case at Black+Blue. What made our dinner even more special was the attentive, thoughtful and professional service we received from our wonderful server Fraser. He was so incredibly kind and professional - something that I’ve found missing from so many fine dining establishments these days. Having Fraser as our server truly elevated a good dining experience to an exceptional and stand-out one. In addition to Fraser’s attentive service, we also had several other Managers check in with us to ensure we were enjoying our dinner - and we most definitely were.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience at Black+Blue. We cannot wait to return!

I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday dinner at Black+Blue in Vancouver, and it was truly a five-star experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was elegant yet inviting, making it the perfect setting for a special occasion. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed warmly and made to feel like valued guests.
The food was absolutely outstanding. Every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Whether it was the perfectly seared steak, the delicious sides, or the decadent dessert to finish off the evening, everything exceeded my expectations. You can really tell that attention to quality and detail is a top priority here.
The service was equally impressive. Our server, Sasha, was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations that we were so glad we took. The team made sure everything ran smoothly and added thoughtful touches that made the evening feel even more special. I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday dinner, and I will definitely be returning to Black+Blue in the future.

We enjoyed a delicious Christmas brunch buffet at Showcase. I've visited many times for work functions and lunches. This was my first time coming in for their buffet.
The food was fresh and delicious. There was also a fantastic variety of cooked foods and a fresh salad bar.
My favourites included the seafood chowder, roast beef, cold seafood selection and desserts. There was a creamy Bavarian Mousse that was incredible, and the Ube Coconut cake was fantastic.
Reservations highly recommended. Definitely worth a visit.

The best restaurant in Vancouver (in my opinion).
Their poutin is the best!! I tried it last year (2023) and came back after exactly 1 year from Seattle because I couldn’t forget about that experience. Poutin this year was delicious, just like I remembered. They have gravy separately, maintaining the fries crispy!
I love love their cocktail selections too. They have everything from light and sour to sweet and heavy.
I will definitely come back to Vancouver just to visit here again.

I'm not very well versed with teppanyaki, but what I had here was really fun.
I had the $58 special that they currently have. It included:
Shabu Shabu Soup
Vegetables
Shrimp
Tiger Prawns
Filet Mignon (+$14)
Chicken
Rice
Mango Ice Cream
Rising Sun $8
Overall, the food was good, but I thought the chicken was a little bit overcooked. I also tried the sirloin steak as well and that was very tender, so if I didn't substitute the filet mignon, that would have been a good choice as well.
Our cook was super nice and very entertaining.
I would want to go back and try other things on the menu as well.

Quite a pricy restaurant for a nice night out at Vancouver, but definitely worth the money! They have a very good portion size of food, cooked right in front of us on the metal plates. The chefs are also full of personality, and great at entertaining us as well. I highly recommend trying this place out, especially during Dine Out Vancouver :)

I do wish that 1/2 stars were included in the rating scale,, while I've given 4 stars across the board, some of my rating would be a half star higher and lower . This, of course, is a very popular place, and some people might not agree with my take, but it's my opinion, and that's what these reviews are for .
As an entertainment experience, it's a fun place to go.. once, but it wouldn't be on my list of frequent flyers,, the chefs are obviously experienced not just in cooking skills but entertainment.
I can't help but wonder if they enjoy the comedic routine .
While the food was tasty I wouldn't call it fine dining ,,everything cooked piece meal and chopped up to little bits on a big grill to accommodate the large crowds in a timely manner may be efficient but you don't get a cohesive meal all cooked at once and were I able to afford a $2-400 piece of wagyu I'd want it cooked on its own and I'll cut it up myself.
And finally do not go there in fancy expensive clothes ,, again it is entertaining to sit there and watch the knives go round and the flame blasting up but everything you wear will smell like the unfortunate guy cooking barbecue for everyone or back in the day when everyone smoked in a bar.
So in short fun(ish) expensive even for a basic meal with a drink or 2, more of an entertainment experience than a food experience

Had a great experience at Kobe Restaurant! The food was amazing, and the atmosphere was fun and lively. I really enjoyed the live cooking experience—watching the chef prepare each dish right in front of us with impressive skill and flair. The fire on the grill added so much excitement to the meal. The ingredients were fresh and high quality, and everything tasted fantastic. The staff were attentive throughout. Definitely a place worth trying if you’re looking for great food and an entertaining dining experience!
