Our tour guide recommended Cactus chain and I am glad we listened. Great spot for weekend lunch. Extra points for accommodating group of seven during Brazil vs Norway match. Another extra point for Norway win ;)
Welcoming service and delicious food. While they don’t have kids menu, they offer few great choices for kids. Our daughter experimented with Tofu salad.

A very nice place to dine. We had the blackened chicken and changed the mash potato to truffle fries shared for two and it arrived beautifully plated/split for two; awesome and so delicious! Highly recommendable. The burger hit the spot, but the chicken tenders were kind of bland even when dipped in those sauces provided. Service was great, the washroom’s upstairs and may be hard for the seniors. There’s an elevator, but that day we went was out of order. Overall, this location is awesome! Thanks for being there, Cactus Club Cafe… 😍

I’ve been coming to Cactus Club regularly, and it never disappoints. The service is always quick, and the servers are attentive, friendly, and professional. The food and atmosphere are consistently great, which is why I keep coming back. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience! Happy hour is great and reasonable too.

Claiming significant corner court on Burrard is Cactus Club, a standard chain restaurant that caters to everyone. The sheer amount of space Cactus takes up is no joke. This place was absolutely built for maximum capacity.
This is a safe spot for comfort food, so I find myself coming to Cactus fairly often so I can devour a meal of Truffle Fries and Spaghetti Portofino or Pesto Chicken Quesadilla or Steak and Mushrooms, depending on my mood. Naturally I vouch for all of these delicious items.
If you're looking for a quiet place to have meaningful conversation, this isn't the place. It is ridiculously loud, so half the time, you're straining to hear, or shouting your vocal chords hoarse as if you were auditioning to be a cheerleader.
The ambiance is nice though, and even better at night when the lights get dimmed. I've come here on more than a few Friday's to unwind after a chaotic stress inducing week of corporate nonsense.
In a sea of restaurants downtown, Cactus stands out as Old Reliable. Plus you can't beat the fact that it's literally right outside Burrard Station, for my transitting comrades. And as a final lure, the prices and portion sizes are actually pretty decent considering everyone is trying to screw you out of your money while shrinking portions and quality. Thank goodness Cactus hasn't fallen prey to these tactics.

This restaurant offers a wonderful dining experience. The environment is clean, tidy and cozy with nice decor. Dishes are fresh, tasty and authentic, and portions are generous with good value for money. Food is served at a reasonable speed. Staff are friendly, polite and attentive, always ready to help. The atmosphere is relaxing for casual meals or small gatherings. No disappointing dishes here. Highly recommended, and I will definitely visit again.

Went here to celebrate a birthday. We were so hungry and went crazy with the food so we had a hard time finishing the second round lol. The sushi is okay, the price is cheap for AYCE (lunch time) so i’d say it’s not bad. The veggie salad (?) was not good and we didn’t really like their kimchi either. The tonkatsu was also better than i expected, i was craving for it so we asked for that too. As for the bbq, love love love their beef and chicken, pork was okay. We went in pretty late so they were closing and made us pay before we finished. I couldn’t really understand the owner when she was asking me to pay and then she ended up choosing and pressing the tip by herself which was kind of a letdown with the experience. I wouldn’t say it was a well-deserved tip for the service and considering we weren’t even a group. Overall it was nice, except the last part. A great place to go if your hungry and craving for both sushi and bbq!

My girlfriend and I came to Shabusen Yakiniku House for the all-you-can-eat option and chose the Korean BBQ, and it was an awesome experience. It was her first time ever doing Korean BBQ, so I really wanted it to be somewhere memorable—and Shabusen absolutely delivered. The quality of the food was excellent, especially for all you can eat. Everything tasted fresh, well-marinated, and came out quickly.
Our absolute favourite was the short rib. It was incredibly tender, flavorful, and easily the standout dish of the night. Watching the meat cook right at the table made the whole experience fun and interactive, which was perfect for a first-timer. The variety of options meant we could try a little bit of everything without feeling rushed.
The atmosphere was lively but still comfortable, making it a great spot for a date or a casual night out. Overall, the food, experience, and value made this a place we’d happily return to. If you’re looking to try Korean BBQ—especially for the first time—Shabusen Yakiniku House is a fantastic choice.

We did not have any wait luckily because we had reservation online, but as we were exiting there were over 20 people waiting outside the restaurant.
Overall I'd give it a 4/5 stars.
One star missing for the food quality, it's not super high but it's good for the price you're paying.
The value is great considering you get to order 3 rounds and there's no limit to how many items you order per round, but you do need to finish what's on your table to avoid getting a penalty.
Our favourite item was the fried scallops.
The dining environment was comfortable as well, despite being a bit loud.
Service was decent, and speedy.
I'd come back here again!

Amazing all-you-can-eat experience with fresh, high-quality food. It’s really fun and interactive since you get to barbecue your own meats right at the table — definitely part of the experience! If you enjoy hands-on dining, this place is perfect. They also have cooked options if you’d rather just relax and eat. Great service, delicious food, and an overall fun atmosphere that makes every visit enjoyable.

Came here to celebrate my friend's birthday during happy hour. I really enjoyed clam chowder and beef carppacio. Stephen M. was our server. He was very attentive and gave us good recommendations. Had a very pleasant welcoming attitude. Ended our meal with a small bday treat - he even sang happy birthday to my friend.

One of the best and freshest seafood experiences I’ve ever had. The service was impeccable!! our server, Peter, truly went above and beyond and made the entire evening memorable for both me and my friend. His wine and food recommendations were excellent.
The ambience is calm, elegant, and perfect for easy conversation. For appetizers, we had the octopus and the crab cake wow, wow, wow! Two uniquely curated dishes, both executed flawlessly.
Highly recommend the sashimi platter and the oshi sablefish, it literally melted like butter. I’ve honestly never tasted seafood this fresh before. For our main course, we had the king salmon and the seabass Wellington, which was incredibly unique and absolutely amazing.
An unforgettable dining experience, highly recommended.! 10/10

Hy's was recommended to us by a couple we met the day before while out having some drinks. They said the steaks were great and the cheese toast to die for. So we figured we had one evening without dinner plans and why not give it a go.
The cheese toast is amazing can confirm, also had the sautéed prawns which were cooked well and the sauce they come in delicious if I had know how good i would have ordered it with the cheese bread to dip into. As it was my wife kept the bowl with the sauce to dip her lobster in instead of butter.
The French onion soup was the best one I have ever had, incredibly rich broth.
We also had the table side Caesar salad, which was well prepared.
I had the table side steak Diane also as it isn't something avaliable almost anywhere and I was very happy with my choice. The wife had filled and lobster both were cooked to perfection.
The only thing we didn't love is the artwork which is a bit odd. But all in all a great dining experience. Our waitress Amanda did awesome preparing the table side cases and steak Diane. And Andrew in the bar was excellent as well when we had a few drinks prior to our reservation.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
An exceptional dining experience from start to finish on Friday evening.
The food was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked halibut, a rich and flavourful steak, vibrant asparagus, and carrots that were elevated far beyond the ordinary. The tableside Caesar salad was a standout moment—fresh, interactive, and done with such care and precision. (Thank you Chris)
Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the atmosphere struck that perfect balance of refined, warm, and inviting. Every detail felt intentional, making the entire evening feel special.
A truly memorable experience—we will absolutely be back.

Took a friend here for her 40th birthday last night and it was exemplary. Rib-eye steak is my favourite cut so I am well versed in it, well Hy’s quality was absolutely above almost any I have enjoyed elsewhere. The char on the steak was delicious, the meat tender and cooked perfect med rare.
The service was excellent, Alexei was fabulous. My only complaint (I wouldn’t even call it that) was the mash potatoes were not as creamy, or flavoured as I would have liked and their texture was not the best.
The bill was pricey as to be expected but we purposely did not pay attention to the cost of anything when selecting our choices.

We found our steakhouse! Just wow! The steak was cooked to perfection on a charcoal grill, perfectly seasoned, tender medium well. The atmosphere was so fancy and high end. My husband brought me here for the first time although he had been here before. We’ve been to Elisa in Yaletown and have always tried booking there but was always full. So he recommended to go to Hy’s and I told why he only took me there now. We had an amazing dining experience! The ambiance, service of our host was top notched five stars and of course the food was worth the five stars price! We will definitely return!

The food quality and flavors were very good, and overall I enjoyed the experience. I have a mushroom allergy, and while the dish was prepared without mushrooms as requested, there wasn’t any substitution added, which slightly affected the balance of the dish.
It would be great to see more well-thought-out vegetarian options, especially for people with dietary restrictions. Still, the food itself was enjoyable and well prepared.

Had an incredible lunch at Hawksworth in Vancouver—honestly one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while. The food was beautifully presented and every dish was balanced, thoughtful, and full of flavor. The space itself feels refined but still comfortable, not stuffy.
What really made the experience stand out was the service. Our server was absolutely out of this world—attentive without hovering, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely warm. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and it elevated the whole meal.
If you’re looking for a polished, high-end lunch spot in Vancouver, this place delivers on every level. Highly recommend.

From the moment we stepped into Hawksworth, the experience set a high bar. We were greeted with a warm, genuine welcome at reception, and the transition into the main dining area was seamless—gracious without feeling scripted.
Our server, Lou, elevated the evening with attentive and thoughtful service. Orders were handled with care, and recommendations were offered with confidence and insight, especially around what dishes paired well together. It felt less like upselling and more like being guided by someone who truly knows (and loves) the menu.
The pear salad was an unexpected highlight. As someone who firmly believes blue cheese and I are not on speaking terms, I was pleasantly surprised. The blue cheese was balanced and restrained—enough to add character without overpowering the dish. I may have to admit that a new relationship with blue cheese has officially begun.
The short ribs chimichurri with sweet potato were, quite simply, outstanding. Fork-tender, rich, and deeply flavorful, it melted in the mouth and made conversation pause for all the right reasons.
Dessert sealed the deal. The malted chocolate torte with tonka bean ice cream and the rye chocolate sponge were indulgent, well-balanced, and memorable—decadent without being heavy. A perfect ending to a thoughtfully curated meal.
I’ll admit, when I first saw the Dine Out Vancouver price point of $70, I was underwhelmed. But Hawksworth quickly proved me wrong. The quality, execution, service, and overall experience delivered far beyond expectations. This was money well spent—and a reminder that sometimes skepticism deserves to be politely shown the door.
Hawksworth didn’t just participate in Dine Out Vancouver; they made it worth dining out for.

Dining at Hawksworth was a delicious and pleasant experience. All the staff were super welcoming and professional. All the food I ordered was cooked to well with a highlight being the carrot cake for dessert. I really enjoyed the pineapple purée on the cake as it gave a nice contrast between the sweet mascarpone and the cake. Overall, I would come back as it was a great experience.

We ordered beef carpaccio and Sunday prime rib dinner. The beef carpaccio was extremely small and had barely any beef. Prime rib was a little chewy and the broccolini that came as a side tasted burnt. Both my partner and I agreed that the keg prime rib was significantly better than this. The food looked way better than it tasted. The atmosphere and service were good. Nice wait staff.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Celebrating our 7th anniversary at Black+Blue was the best decision!
From the moment we arrived, we felt truly welcomed. We had requested to come a little earlier than our dinner reservation on Saturday, June 20, and the team was very accommodating. As soon as we walked in, we received a warm greeting, and every staff member we encountered was friendly, attentive, and welcoming.
A special shoutout to Manager Bipin and Tetiana, who took excellent care of us throughout the evening. They were professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain the menu and share information about the restaurant, making our experience even more enjoyable.
The food was excellent, and we appreciated that they were happy to accommodate our preferences. Every dish was prepared perfectly and served with great attention to detail. A big thank you to the chef and the entire kitchen team for delivering such delicious meals.
Thank you, Black+Blue, for making our anniversary celebration so memorable and special. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for outstanding food, service, and a wonderful dining experience. 🫶🏻

I made a reservation here with my friends to celebrate our graduation, and the entire experience was amazing. Since it was our first time dining here, our server kindly walked us through the menu and gave us great recommendations.
Our server, Rebeca, was warm, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout the evening. We started with the Crab Cake, which was absolutely delicious. For our main, we shared the Châteaubriand for Two with mashed potatoes and vegetables, and everything was cooked perfectly. We also ordered the wagyu fried rice on the side, which was incredibly flavourful and paired so well with the meal. The table went completely quiet because we were all so focused on enjoying the food. The drinks were also refreshing and full of flavour.
At the end of the night, they surprised us with a complimentary dessert to celebrate our graduation, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the experience feel even more memorable.
I would absolutely come back for future special occasions and can’t wait to try more of their dishes.

My husband and I went for the Black+Blue Mother’s Day set menu brunch and had such a lovely experience. The burrata salad was incredibly fresh, refreshing, and full of flavour — definitely one of my favourite dishes. My steak and eggs were also absolutely delicious, and the white sauce that came with it was amazing (I wish I knew the name of it!). The banana pudding dessert was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. I also really appreciated the generous portion sizes.
Our server, Alena, was so pleasant and kind throughout the entire experience. She had such positive energy and made us feel very welcomed. We’ll definitely be back!

Black+Blue was a really good night out in Vancouver. The restaurant is beautiful, modern, and vibey without feeling too loud or nightclub-like.
I got the ribeye and a blood orange margarita, and both were great. The ribeye was probably one of the best I’ve had, cooked perfectly medium rare. The mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts were also really good, and the broccolini was fine.
Only downside was the wait. It took around 1.5 to 2 hours for our mains to come out, which felt too long. Luckily we had good company, so it didn’t ruin the night.

STOP scrolling if you love seafood! 👀🦪
The steamed mussels at Black+Blue Vancouver are a solid 10/10 and easily some of the best I've had in Vancouver. The flavors were incredible, the mussels were perfectly cooked, and every bite was absolutely delicious. 🤤
It wasn't just the food that impressed me. The rooftop atmosphere is stunning, the service is top-notch, and the entire dining experience feels special from start to finish. It's rare to find a place that delivers so well on food, ambiance, and hospitality all at once.
Would I come back? Absolutely. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Vancouver. 🙌

We happened upon Showcase while looking for a place to eat on Valentines Day (with no prior plans) and it was amazing. The atmosphere is upscale but comfortable, and there was a live musician who was fantastic. The service was quick and so friendly, and we were seated right away in the lounge (compared to 2 hour waits at several close by major restaurants)
There was a special Valentines 3 course meal menu with an extra wine accompaniment option - everything I has was delicious! I was actually full enough that I had to take most of my dessert home. This will absolutely be my dining choice when I am in the area from now on!

If you’re looking for instagramable worthy food pictures of one of the most delicious foods Vancouver has to offer, it’s here.
First off the dining area and decor is spotless and modern. The ambiance is incredibly invigorating. The service here exceeded my expectations and I’ve returned many times.
The food quality is very premium and has a high standard. I’ve never had the opportunity to ever experience brunch here yet, because of my schedule. But I would obviously love to someday.

Our server Aimee was attentive and very responsive to questions. She made the dining experience comfortable and enjoyable. The butter chicken and chicken wings are Halal fyi. Would recommend the soy garlic chicken wings with the garlic based prawn scampi. They provide appropriate sized appetizers and mains easily shared between two. They also have non alcoholic drinks as well so I opted for the watermelon spritz which is really refreshing on a hot day. Overall 5/5 experience 😌

We enjoyed a delicious Christmas brunch buffet at Showcase. I've visited many times for work functions and lunches. This was my first time coming in for their buffet.
The food was fresh and delicious. There was also a fantastic variety of cooked foods and a fresh salad bar.
My favourites included the seafood chowder, roast beef, cold seafood selection and desserts. There was a creamy Bavarian Mousse that was incredible, and the Ube Coconut cake was fantastic.
Reservations highly recommended. Definitely worth a visit.

We recently celebrated our friends’ 56th anniversary at Kobe Japanese Steakhouse, and it was a wonderful experience as always. This has been their go-to place for many years to celebrate this special occasion, which speaks volumes about the consistency of the restaurant.
The staff never disappoint, professional, attentive, and engaging making every visit feel special. The food is always fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared.
Thank you for maintaining such a high standard of service and quality over the years. We look forward to many more celebrations at Kobe.

Dinner and a show at Kobe Japanese Steak House is the place to go. It’s a Vancouver institution that has perfectly preserved the classic teppanyaki experience—fun, fiery, and full of energy.
The highlight is, of course, the teppanyaki chef. From the flaming onion volcanoes to the lightning-fast knife skills, the performance makes the meal feel like a special event. It’s the perfect spot for a birthday, anniversary, or a lively night out with a group. The interior has a wonderful, nostalgic feel that transports you right out of the downtown hustle.
We went with the Kobe Classic, and the quality of the beef was outstanding—perfectly seared and incredibly tender. The meal comes as a complete set with soup, and those delicious grilled vegetables. Make sure to ask for extra of their signature "Yum Yum" sauce; it’s addictive! For those who love seafood, the scallops were also cooked to perfection.

We made a reservation at Kobe for Dine Out Vancouver and the experience kicked off on a great note. When we arrived, we were warmly ushered into the lounge to wait, where we ordered drinks while our table was being prepared. The transition upstairs was smooth and felt a bit like a build-up to a show — walking past several tables, then heading up another level, seeing chefs already cooking in front of excited diners. The anticipation definitely grew with every step.
Once seated, the service team quickly checked in for drink orders and asked about allergies. When our chef arrived, it was clear he’d been fully briefed on everyone’s preferences and dietary needs. One person at our table has an allergy, and the chef was incredibly attentive — cooking their food separately to avoid any cross-contamination. Super thoughtful and very much appreciated.
Then came the performance. The chef effortlessly flexed his cooking tools in the air, which was impressive and entertaining. He started with appetizers — shrimp, veggies, and prawns — followed by steak and teriyaki chicken, all cooked right in front of us. Everything was delicious, hot, and perfectly seasoned. Bonus points for firing up an onion “birthday candle” for one of our birthday celebrants — a fun and memorable touch that had the whole table smiling.
Now, the only real downside: the smoke. Despite the large exhaust built into the table, it didn’t quite do its job. You will leave smelling like you just walked out of a smokehouse. Like… people might smell you from a mile away. Pro tip: don’t wear your favourite outfit or coat unless you want it permanently infused with grill essence. I just wish their exhaust system could handle heavy smoke the way some Korean BBQ spots do.
That said, the overall experience was fun, interactive, and delicious. Great food, attentive service, and lots of laughs — just come dressed accordingly and ready to smell like a teppanyaki feast.

The food was really delicious and the atmosphere was great. The service was amazing as well. We went with the teriyaki combo which comes with beef, chicken, veges /shrimp. Came here to celebrate our anniversary and they were super nice and provided us with a complimentary ice cream. While it was delicious it is also expensive. It was 60$ per person for the meal and I wasn’t completely full, that is not taking away from the whole experience as I thought it was great but just fyi. Would still recommend for special occasions!

Surprisingly having lived in the surrounding areas of Vancouver, 50+years. This was my first time to Kobes. I have always heard great experiences from others. I brought my girlfriend, daughter & some. Celebrating 5 years with my GF & daughters 18th birthday.
Very nice warm ambiance, amazing staff. The chefs are next level.
Being a Sat. evening, it was quite busy. Definitely make reservations. This is a very social atmosphere. So if your looking for something more private, intimate. I'd go elsewhere. Our chef Sho was very personable & entertaining. Glad to have checked Kobes off the restaurant bucket list. I know it's very popular and if your a tourist. It's a must.
