I was in the Vancouver, British Columbia area for a conference and was staying at a nearby - Sheraton hotel, next to the Marriott and Hilton. I asked the concierge, at the hotel, for a list of restaurants within walking distance. They were kind enough to provide me a list and I decided on the White Spot, which was about 3/4 mile walk from the hotel to street No. 3, where the restaurant was located. My group entered and was greeted immediately. We were seated in Kush's (our wait person) section. Kush came over and took our drink orders and gave us a few minutes to read through the menus and then returned to answered any questions we had. We ended up ordering a light meal because we didn't want to spoil our dinner. I've attached some pictures of the food we ordered. Note, all of it was very good. The restaurant is very modern, in my mind, and quiet enough that it's easy to have a conversation. The staff, was very efficient, professional, and courteous. I'm definitely, looking forward to revisiting this restaurant should I be in the Vancouver area in the future. I hope that if you decide to visit this restaurant that your experience is as good or better than mine.

Visitor to Vancouver. Had the seasonal turkey dinner with pumpkin pie. The berry-rich cranberry sauce went really well with the turkey and service was warm and welcoming. Many thanks to Caitlin who made sure everything was in order.

Was okay service. Could not really understand the cashier (didn’t get her name) and it seemed like she was being so quick about it when there was no line up behind me - but it may be because since it was about 15 minutes until closing time. Took a while to get my food. I feel like there should be more drink options for the fountain. You get extra sauces as a bonus (I’m not sure how) and I noticed when a customer asked for salt, the cashier gave him a few which I found generous since many places don’t do that.

I love the deals they have. I love their All Stars box meal. Comes with crispy chicken sandwich, popcorn, 2 pieces of chicken and a drink. Enough for my big appetite. The service and speed is great. Sometimes it can be busy during lunch peak hours on the weekend but it’s worth the wait.

I ordered a party tray of sushi here for my son's party, and I also bought my own dinner. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The sushi was absolutely delicious! Since the party was on a boat, the staff kindly provided extra chopsticks and soy sauce for over a dozen people. We were even given a complimentary box of edamame when we opened the order. We wanted to find a simple sushi place that was good and not too expensive. Joe's hit the spot, the sushi and sashimi was really good, not the best sushi ever, but good value. The house roll was good, huge roll... the black dragon was really yummy, they warmed the unagi which added to the taste. The miso soup was good, not too salty as well, free if you dine in. The sashimi was good quality, didn't smell fishy. The salmon was our fav, melts in your mouth and bigger slices reminds me of Sushi Garden restaurant. Staff was really friendly. Parking is limited in the back the place was clean and quaint, small family restaurant, which we both enjoy, Simple. And they only take cash or debit only, no credit. If I'm in the area again, I'll be back.

The fish was incredibly fresh and the service was excellent. As someone who truly loves sashimi, this place is simply the best. The Korean owner was so kind and welcoming, which makes me want to come back again and again. From now on, I’ll definitely be ordering all my sushi and sashimi trays from here! It’s a tiny spot with just a few tables, but it never feels crowded or chaotic. The food is delicious, fast, and affordable. Somehow, they always manage to get our full order out in under ten minutes every time! I don’t come here often since I’m not in Richmond much, but if I lived nearby, I could easily see myself coming here every week.

I have seen this food truck for a while and finally caught it when it's opened. Seeing not a lot of people I was wondering would it be good, but I was blown away. The skewers are cheaper than outside and just tasted so amazing. Seasoned perfectly and grilled to perfection. Eating outside with the setting sun definitely sets a good mood to enjoy the food. Definitely need to try the lamb kidney, chicken knee, chicken soft bone and meat, beef tongue, and must order the Naan, it is more Northern Chinese Naan bread, and it is so soft and pillowy, we ate both of them so quickly. A must try in richmond.

This spot is great for a nighttime snack, the skewers here cost less than the ones at the Richmond Night Market which is nice. 🍢👍🏻 Although they have an order online page on their website, it didn't work for me so I just called them to order. When I arrived I was able to pick up quite quickly and they tasted great too. 😋 5/5⭐

Went for lunch during happy hours and they had a special menu going on and decided to go with that. Food options came with free bar and made it very acceptable for its higher prices. There is also free ice cream at the end. The servers were very helpful and explained a lot of their options. Very impressed with their knowledge. The atmosphere was amazing as it feels very high end. Even the washrooms were very good, clean, and well maintained. Would come here again for special occasions. 5 stars overall.

Our party size was over 20 ppl, so we had an entire area to ourselves. I was quite impressed with the service we received. The staff were efficient and attentive and they topped up our soup proactively. We mostly ordered meal sets which came with a good amount of food. The wagyu was very tender and worth the price. The only downside was that I felt the amount of vegetables that came with my set was a bit lacking.

High end hot pot restaurant and i like the service and quiet area. There are many appetizers, candies and desserts to pick at the front counter. That adds the touch to the meal. I picked my own tea as well with great flower taste. We have 5 people so order separately instead of set meal. Quality is better and we can pick what we like to eat. Make sure save appetite for free unlimited soft serve ice cream at the end. Ice cream has strong milk flavour and i love it. That completes the meal. Shrimp paste must order!

Love the quality of meat and seafood offered. It’s definitely on the pricey side, but it’s a good spot for special occasions. I love that each person gets their own soup as well. Service was fast and great.

I've never been super into hotpot but this place I would definitely go back to eat it. It feels more upscale in quality and flavour. I can definitely taste the difference between this and cheap all you can eat hotpots. I definitely would rather eat this even if its a little pricier. I also love the mini pots on the table so everyone can have their own pot like shabu shabu style. Service was great in the beginning, they even called us to come earlier for happy hour. Felt like we were starting to get rushed out of there near the end though since dinner service was starting. Definitely get the shrimp pate thing. They ball it for you into the pot at the table. Desserts were great too. Even the ice cream tasted good and not cheap quality like Ive had at other places.

Our first time here and the service we received was above and beyond. The individuals who served us were so attentive to the details of our experience. Loved the food, everything was so delicious. The decor is pretty and the bathrooms are MASSIVE. I felt very comfortable here and will be back! Super romantic spot as well for you and your partner to come get a meal.

Overall the food is actually quite good. Their style of steak is similar to Peter Lugers. Where they unfortunately are lacking is service. For the premium you're paying for dinner, you expect excellent service. It was subpar even by restaurant standards. It took a long time to get our drink and food orders in. Drinks took 20~ mins to arrive at the table. The waiter did not seem familiar with the menu, every item we order had to be clarified and pointed out on the menu. Even after group finished our first round of drinks, it took 30 mins to find a waiter to order the next round. At which point most opted out as the dinner was almost done. If they match their service to the quality of food, this could be a great restaurant.

We had a fantastic evening at House of Dawn Steakhouse. The steaks were beautifully cut, cooked to perfection. It was a great spot to enjoy a night out with friends. Growing up in Richmond, there haven’t been many steakhouse options locally, so it’s exciting to see a place like House of Dawn open up here. It fills a gap in the dining scene and brings something fresh to the area. Service throughout was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall experience. We genuinely enjoyed our time here and are rooting for this place to do well.

This is a revolutionary place for parents to bring the family to eat and play! I've seen nothing like it before, but it's a perfect idea for parents. The young toddlers can play all they want while the parents eat or relax. The food is very good, and service is amazing, right down to the train delivery of your food or drinks! Staff are friendly and fast, and admission and food prices are fair. Everyone has to wear socks in there, no shoes allowed, so it's very clean! The staff are always cleaning, and have scheduled times to organize and clean the various play areas, so it's well kept! The ball pit seems very clean as well. Great place for you and your kids to enjoy! Head on down with your family!

Mino is the most unique place I’ve ever been to. It feels like a family service center — kids can play while adults relax. Mino Kids World is so pretty colorful indoor play area! There are so many toys and areas. Slides, a little climbing, sand area, many cars, trampoline,clothes, kitchens,and so on. My son likes ball pool area! And birthday party rooms are so nice. I would like to hold my son's birthday party here!

I highly recommend this place. Typical hole in the wall, with very nice contemporary ambience. A few tables in a room with very pretty drawings and doodling on the walls. The menus are in Chinese but the guy at the counter speaks English and volunteers to help you order. His claim is that “no other place in Vancouver offers authentic Chinese food like he does”. I believe him. The food was not oily, veges delicately cut and cooked, not too much sauce, delicate flavours intertwined with perfect cooking of the meats. Rice is on the house. Loved every single dish we ordered. I actually haven’t eaten such good Chinese food anywhere except at a colleagues house back in China. And that’s why the food is so good; it’ll remind u of home cooked food in China.

To me, this place is perfect! All the ingredients are fresh, and I love that I can pick exactly what I want and only pay for what I choose. Since I’m on a low-carb diet, I can load up on protein and veggies without paying for carbs I don’t eat. If you order $20 worth of food (about 500g), you get a free drink of your choice (including bubble tea!) and a free dessert — a cute fish-shaped pastry with coconut ice cream. There’s also plenty of free parking. The staff are polite and friendly. On my first visit yesterday, they cooked the fried tofu skin rolls together in the hot pot, which made them too soggy for my taste. Today, I visited again and asked the cashier to leave them raw on the side — she kindly did so, and everything turned out perfect! Each bowl with around 500g of food comes to only about $20, which I think is very reasonable. I also appreciate that their credit card machine has a “no tip” option alongside 10%, etc., so there’s no pressure to tip.

I came in with three other people for a party of four. There was no wait. We quickly observed that the place was clean. We ordered food and the cashier was friendly, offering really good soup base suggestions for the group. Our servers, Vivi and Mary, were extremely kind, helpful, and efficient. They assisted us with packing our food in containers and even offered to put my ice cream in a cup, sealing it so I could take it home. Excellent and efficient service! 👍

Piping Hot was so good! The staff were so friendly and the price isn't too expensive compared to Big Way Hot Pot. It also isn't busy here so you can come here without lineups and you have more choices. There is things such as green pod that Big Way doesn't have. They also have more soup choices (12 soup choices.) They even have a happy hour that when you order $20 or more in a specific time, you get a free drink! They also offer a lot of lemon water if you like that. The food was so delicious that I even drank the soup. Will recommend for sure and also will come back. (Just please viewer, come here)

First time here after seeing videos online. It's nice that you can do deep fried and hotpot version at the same time. They have a happy hour from 11am-1am where if you spend $20 you can get a free drink (large) from a small selection. The free drink is already prepped so you cannot adjust sugar which is not good for people who need to monitor their blood sugar levels. The cup is also full of ice, even after finishing my meal my cup still had plenty of ice in it. There is a wide variety of ingredients to choose from (a bit less for the deep fried section, but a lot more for the hotpot). Ingredients are fresh and are constantly replenished. There are more soup bases to choose from than other chains (BigWay). We tried their signature Mala (medium) but it wasn't spicy at all for us. The Mala is ok, but I think BigWay's has more flavor. We also tried the Laksa soup. Their style of Laksa is not very creamy, not much coconut milk flavor, more on the fishy side. We also tried their Tomyum soup. It's definitely flavorful and their style is to make it very sour and tangy. Overall our family preferred BigWay's soup bases over Piping Hot. The deep fried is really good. They season it well and you can choose to have salt and pepper with or without seaweed. And you can also choose to add cumin powder and chili powder. We came around 8pm and there was a short 5 minute wait for our table of 4. Afterwards it wasn't too busy and we got to enjoy our meal without other customers standing by our table and staring at us. The staff were very helpful and nice, and we did not feel rushed which is great. The Taiyaki icecream today was coconut flavor and I believe the Taiyaki might have been chocolate or charcoal? Overall really yummy. I wish the icecream could go deeper into the Taiyaki because when you get into it, it is hollow without icecream inside. I would come back if I was craving their deep fried, but for hotpot I would probably go back to Bigway just because of the soup bases.

The process is simple: you grab a tray, pick your ingredients from a wide variety of fresh veggies, tofu, noodles, seafood, and a great selection of meats like thinly sliced beef, lamb, and marinated chicken. Everything is priced by weight, so you only pay for what you take, which I really liked. No pressure—just pick what you like! Once you’re done choosing, they cook everything in the broth you select. I went with the spicy broth, and it was so flavorful without being overpowering. The meats were tender, the veggies cooked perfectly, and the portion was super satisfying. What really made this place stand out is the value. It’s very affordable for the quality and quantity of food you get. PLUS, they offer free drinks and a Taiyaki ice cream during Happy Hour (3 PM - 5 PM)—such a fun touch that made the meal even better! They also have bubble tea if you're craving something sweet to go with your meal. The vibe is casual and cozy, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this spot whether you’re new to hot pot or already obsessed. It’s worth every penny, and I’ll definitely be coming back with friends!

While the yakitori options are limited, they are certainly enough to fulfill the need for quick, satisfying snacks. My favorite part of the meal was definitely the Beef Tongue, Chicken Heart, and Grilled Corn—these are absolute must-try items and worth the spotlight! The flavors in all the dishes are good, but those three stood out as exceptional. Everything else was decent, but those specific skewers are what I'd come back for. I really love the modern Japanese wood interior decoration. The overall mood is moody, comfortable, and dim, featuring contrasty lighting that shines right down on the dining table. This intentional lighting makes the food look incredibly photogenic! The service we received was excellent. Our Cantonese-speaking waitress was polite, friendly, and very attentive. She took the time to walk us through the menu, highlighting popular items and what was worth a try. She also introduced us to the four different dipping sauces for the yakitori. I particularly liked the daikon sauce. The cilantro sauce brings a nice freshness to the meats, though it might be a bit overpowering for some. No complaints—great service! The pricing is decent, and I'm happy to see another option open up in Richmond! While it's not the absolute best yakitori I've ever had, I would definitely come back to try their other skewer options.

It’s yakitori, but I think it’s more Chinese-style, probably because it’s owned by Chinese. Not that it’s bad. It’s actually pretty good, just don’t expect the traditional Japanese flavor. I like most of the dishes, but I think my favorite is the stir-fried spicy beef tongue. I also like that there are multiple selections of dips and sauces.

Came here for a late dinner on the weekend — still pretty packed, but service was surprisingly fast. The food’s a mix of Chinese and Japanese, but the seasonings lean more on the Chinese side. We ordered sushi and sashimi — super fresh, though portions were a bit on the small side for the price. Also tried a few skewers — tons of options and really tasty, especially the yakitori. They’ve got some rare cuts too, but only a few each day, so we missed these out. There’s a dry-aging cabinet in the restaurant, and the staff recommended we try their dry-aged chicken skewers next visit. Will come again next time.
