White Spot Ackroyd
Double double 8/10 - it’s tasty but can be overwhelming to eat. I feel like it is worth the extra cost to try it if you’re really hungry
Drinks - for bottomless drinks you can mix and match between them!
1. Watermelon Cucumber Refresher 9.5/10 - refreshing and fizzy with a strong flavour. Watermelon didn’t taste overly artificial and the cucumbers give it a light taste!
2. Strawberry Mango Lemonade 9/10 - the mango puree does add something and it is tasty. it tastes more unique than a plain strawberry lemonade
3. Strawberry lemonade 8/10 - just your classic drink.
4. Mango No No Mojito 7.5/10 it was interesting but it didn’t have a strong mint flavour or mango flavour.
5. Mango Iced Tea 7/10 - could use more mango syrup
Our server Carrie was great with checking in and refilling drinks.

Alfredo was way above the average! Service was fast and servers were really kind. However, I found the menu a little bit overpriced.

Delicious and fresh ingredients. My default place for brunch. Great value for what you pay for. It would be nice if there is fresh juice on the menu.

Ordered for take out. This was about $80 for 2 people. The amount of food we received was very underwhelming. $28 mains that looks like appetizer plates and a carrot cake slice not even 2" thick for $8.50. Dont think I'll ever be ordering from here anymore. Incredibly disappointed and still hungry.

I ordered a four piece meal combo and on 4 pieces of chicken about half of the breading was missing and was soggy. They gave me an extra piece of chicken to make up for it, but the breading is my favourite part, not super impressed when you spend $30

I love the deals they have. I love their All Stars box meal. Comes with crispy chicken sandwich, popcorn, 2 pieces of chicken and a drink. Enough for my big appetite. The service and speed is great. Sometimes it can be busy during lunch peak hours on the weekend but it’s worth the wait.

KFC is known for its unique flavor from their secret recipe, but I could barely taste it — mostly just salt and an overwhelming savory taste.
On top of that, the service was average. I specifically asked for utensils and five packets of ketchup for my large fries and four pieces of chicken, but I ended up receiving no utensils and only two ketchups. They weren’t even busy at the time.

Was okay service. Could not really understand the cashier (didn’t get her name) and it seemed like she was being so quick about it when there was no line up behind me - but it may be because since it was about 15 minutes until closing time. Took a while to get my food. I feel like there should be more drink options for the fountain. You get extra sauces as a bonus (I’m not sure how) and I noticed when a customer asked for salt, the cashier gave him a few which I found generous since many places don’t do that.

Here's a nice review for Tokyo Joe's, highlighting their sashimi and sushi, affordability, free parking, customer service, and selection:
A fantastic spot for fresh and delicious Japanese food, Tokyo Joe's is a true gem. I've been on the hunt for a place that serves top-quality sashimi and sushi without breaking the bank, and Tokyo Joe's has exceeded all my expectations.
The sashimi is incredibly fresh, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and sliced to perfection. The sushi rolls are equally impressive, with a wide variety of creative and classic options to choose from. Each piece is crafted with care, and you can truly taste the quality of the ingredients.
Beyond the incredible food, the experience is made even better by the genuinely friendly and attentive staff. The customer service is excellent, making you feel welcome from the moment you walk in the door.
To top it all off, the prices are incredibly affordable for the quality and portion sizes you receive. Plus, the convenience of free parking is a huge bonus. If you're a fan of authentic Japanese cuisine and appreciate a wide selection, great service, and great value, Tokyo Joe's is the place to go. I highly recommend it and can't wait to go back!

We wanted to find a simple sushi place that was good and not too expensive. Joe's hit the spot, the sushi and sashimi was really good, not the best sushi ever, but good value. The house roll was good, huge roll... the black dragon was really yummy, they warmed the unagi which added to the taste. The miso soup was good, not too salty as well, free if you dine in. The sashimi was good quality, didn't smell fishy. The salmon was our fav, melts in your mouth and bigger slices reminds me of Sushi Garden restaurant. Staff was really friendly. Parking is limited in the back the place was clean and quaint, small family restaurant, which we both enjoy, Simple. And they only take cash or debit only, no credit. If I'm in the area again, I'll be back.

It’s a tiny spot with just a few tables, but it never feels crowded or chaotic.
The food is delicious, fast, and affordable.
Somehow, they always manage to get our full order out in under ten minutes every time!
I don’t come here often since I’m not in Richmond much, but if I lived nearby, I could easily see myself coming here every week.

Service was really good and fast. Unfortunately they ran out of tuna when we went but it’s always good here. When I visit Richmond, there’s always time to stop here. Good prices for good portions. The fish are always fresh. Would come back again and again. Always get the toro and salmon belly.

I have seen this food truck for a while and finally caught it when it's opened. Seeing not a lot of people I was wondering would it be good, but I was blown away.
The skewers are cheaper than outside and just tasted so amazing. Seasoned perfectly and grilled to perfection. Eating outside with the setting sun definitely sets a good mood to enjoy the food.
Definitely need to try the lamb kidney, chicken knee, chicken soft bone and meat, beef tongue, and must order the Naan, it is more Northern Chinese Naan bread, and it is so soft and pillowy, we ate both of them so quickly.
A must try in richmond.

This spot is great for a nighttime snack, the skewers here cost less than the ones at the Richmond Night Market which is nice. 🍢👍🏻
Although they have an order online page on their website, it didn't work for me so I just called them to order.
When I arrived I was able to pick up quite quickly and they tasted great too. 😋

High end hot pot restaurant and i like the service and quiet area. There are many appetizers, candies and desserts to pick at the front counter. That adds the touch to the meal. I picked my own tea as well with great flower taste.
We have 5 people so order separately instead of set meal. Quality is better and we can pick what we like to eat. Make sure save appetite for free unlimited soft serve ice cream at the end. Ice cream has strong milk flavour and i love it. That completes the meal.
Shrimp paste must order!

I've never been super into hotpot but this place I would definitely go back to eat it. It feels more upscale in quality and flavour. I can definitely taste the difference between this and cheap all you can eat hotpots. I definitely would rather eat this even if its a little pricier. I also love the mini pots on the table so everyone can have their own pot like shabu shabu style.
Service was great in the beginning, they even called us to come earlier for happy hour. Felt like we were starting to get rushed out of there near the end though since dinner service was starting.
Definitely get the shrimp pate thing. They ball it for you into the pot at the table. Desserts were great too. Even the ice cream tasted good and not cheap quality like Ive had at other places.

Food: 4/5. Great selection of sauces, fruits, candies and jelly dessert. Hotpot soup is good but super salty, even when asking for lower sodium option. Felt very thirsty, even hours later.
Service: 5/5. Great and attentive service from the staff.
Atmosphere: 5/5. Family friendly atmosphere. Not loud and can hear each other talk.

This is the best hotpot place. I’ve been here many times and I’m constantly reminded of why I love it.
First, the service is amazing. Coffee is the best server, constantly asking us if we want anything. Only once I was a bit displeased with the service. Esther was our server once and she told us to go make our own sauce when we asked about dolars special sauce. She then started talking to us unkindly and it made me feel uncomfortable. Sure, you can have an off day but that doesn’t mean you get to treat paying customers rudely.
The food is great, the soups are extremely high end and the dessert makes it all worthwhile. The jelly bar comes with tons of different toppings. I like to put the toppings and candy on top of my ice cream, as you can see in the photo below. It makes for a great sundae.
The sauce bar comes with nearly everything you could wish for. Soy sauce, chili oil, garlic, you name it.
I like how upon arriving you can pick out snacks from the many options. There are chips, fruit, edamame and more.
Overall, Dolar Hot Pot is superb and I look forward to my next visit!

We all ordered set meals but added many extra items, which raised the total price.
If you only order the set meal, it costs around $30, including the soup base, a two-tiered The set meal costs around $30, which includes the soup base, a two-tiered rack of vegetables/meat, and refillable staple food.
The dipping sauce is prepared by the staff at the table, which is a nice touch. There’s also a sauce station with plenty of fruits and dessert toppings.
The panda-shaped dish is cute, but not as tasty as expected. 🐼
By the way, the staff proactively helped us portion the shrimp paste, which was very thoughtful!

We had a fantastic evening at House of Dawn Steakhouse. The steaks were beautifully cut, cooked to perfection. It was a great spot to enjoy a night out with friends. Growing up in Richmond, there haven’t been many steakhouse options locally, so it’s exciting to see a place like House of Dawn open up here. It fills a gap in the dining scene and brings something fresh to the area.
Service throughout was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall experience. We genuinely enjoyed our time here and are rooting for this place to do well.

The food was average not worth the price, also the location is weird. we asked for our steak to be medium but it was rare and chewy definitely not worth 180$,
The beef wellington was okay, the halibut was great the best thing we had there, apparently the beef wellington comes with mashed potatoes but we didn’t know that; it wasn’t written on the menu and they didn’t tell us, we would have picked another side instead of ending up with two bowls of mashed potatoes.
We walked out really disappointed!
Saba Baset - a week ago
So glad we decided to check out House of Dawn! The interior is absolutely stunning with an elevated design, luxurious furnishings, and is super spacious. Every table is lit perfectly for those photo-worthy moments. We went for some of their most popular and unique fusion dishes, and honestly, every bite delivered. The steak was easily one of the best I’ve ever had—cooked to perfection, and you have to try the bone marrow bordelaise sauce.
We also had a chance to chat with the owner, Ivan, who revealed to us their head chef brings incredible experience from Wolfgang Puck’s kitchen in New York and (if I remember correctly) the Ritz Carlton in Shanghai. No wonder everything tasted so refined. This place is exactly what Richmond needed and is officially one of my favourites now!

Steak Dinner at The House of Dawn in Richmond. I’ve heard some mixed reviews of this new Steakhouse so tried to go in with an open mind. We ordered the 10oz Rib-Eye, 6oz Filet Mignon & Signature Wagyu Tartare. Both steaks were cooked perfectly medium rare and very tasty - probably one of the best steaks I’ve had in a while. They came accompanied by mash potatoes and broccolini which is rare in a steakhouse these days - this made the steaks a really good value at $64.50ea. Chimichurri sauce was included as well, but wasn’t really needed as the steaks were already quite flavourful. A nice touch were the pepper mill rock salt & pepper shakers so we could season to taste - this really enhanced the steak flavours without overpowering them. While the tartare was good and we appreciated the assortment of crackers and pickled veggies, I think the flavours could have been more intense. Russ, our server, was attentive and friendly without being pretentious. Ivan, the manager/owner, was friendly and checked in on us as well. In terms of an overall dining experience and ambiance, I think it falls a bit short if you try to compare it to an upscale Hy’s, Elisa, or Gothams - I think the place is a bit too big/open for my personal liking as I prefer a smaller/cozier more intimate feel. But if that’s not what you’re after and you just want a good quality steak at a reasonable price, I think it’s definitely worth checking out. I’d come back and try their Beef Wellington and/or Signature Sizzling Steaks next time.

Tried out this new steak restaurant in the Richmond area. I love the dark aesthetic, interior design and vibes of the restaurant. Order a bunch of different dishes including the sablefish, truffle burger, lobster linguine, and more. Portions were all a good side and tasted good.
The one thing that stood out to me was the service. Aaron provided exceptional customer service. He was attentive, easy to talk to and great at explaining each dish. One of the better servers I have ever had.

This is a revolutionary place for parents to bring the family to eat and play! I've seen nothing like it before, but it's a perfect idea for parents. The young toddlers can play all they want while the parents eat or relax.
The food is very good, and service is amazing, right down to the train delivery of your food or drinks!
Staff are friendly and fast, and admission and food prices are fair.
Everyone has to wear socks in there, no shoes allowed, so it's very clean! The staff are always cleaning, and have scheduled times to organize and clean the various play areas, so it's well kept! The ball pit seems very clean as well. Great place for you and your kids to enjoy!
Head on down with your family!

Mino is the most unique place I’ve ever been to. It feels like a family service center — kids can play while adults relax. Their little food-delivery train is super cool, and the food is both delicious and affordable. 👌👌👌The admission price is very reasonable, too. They’ve balanced everything so well that I could easily spend the whole day there🤩

Fun little play area for children but they could definitely improve on sanitation, organization and staff. There were toys scattered throughout the play areas, kitchen toys in ball pits and the toys seemed a bit dirty. We would love to visit again in the future hoping that there would be some improvement.

Fun place for kids of all ages, the place is clean and newly renovated, the toy areas are usually tidied up, it can get messy from time to time which is obvious when there are lots of kids playing, the staff always try their best to maintain cleanliness at all times. The staff and owners are extremely friendly and helpful! You can bring food from outside but there will soon be a restaurant which is still under construction.

It is SO good, perfect portion, taste, price and service. I can’t be happier and I will be back. The cashier was patient and observant- two people ordered one dish but still gave two sets of utensils. It is not everyday you also get someone politely bowing to thank you. To me, this place is perfect!
All the ingredients are fresh, and I love that I can pick exactly what I want and only pay for what I choose. Since I’m on a low-carb diet, I can load up on protein and veggies without paying for carbs I don’t eat.
If you order $20 worth of food (about 500g), you get a free drink of your choice (including bubble tea!) and a free dessert — a cute fish-shaped pastry with coconut ice cream. There’s also plenty of free parking.
The staff are polite and friendly. On my first visit yesterday, they cooked the fried tofu skin rolls together in the hot pot, which made them too soggy for my taste. Today, I visited again and asked the cashier to leave them raw on the side — she kindly did so, and everything turned out perfect!
Each bowl with around 500g of food comes to only about $20, which I think is very reasonable. I also appreciate that their credit card machine has a “no tip” option alongside 10%, etc., so there’s no pressure to tip.

I came in with three other people for a party of four. There was no wait. We quickly observed that the place was clean. We ordered food and the cashier was friendly, offering really good soup base suggestions for the group. Our servers, Vivi and Mary, were extremely kind, helpful, and efficient. They assisted us with packing our food in containers and even offered to put my ice cream in a cup, sealing it so I could take it home. Excellent and efficient service! 👍

Piping Hot was so good! The staff were so friendly and the price isn't too expensive compared to Big Way Hot Pot. It also isn't busy here so you can come here without lineups and you have more choices. There is things such as green pod that Big Way doesn't have. They also have more soup choices (12 soup choices.) They even have a happy hour that when you order $20 or more in a specific time, you get a free drink! They also offer a lot of lemon water if you like that. The food was so delicious that I even drank the soup. Will recommend for sure and also will come back. (Just please viewer, come here)

If you’re a hot pot fan, this place is a total hidden gem! I loved everything about the experience—from the ingredient selection to the flavors and even the little extras that made it special.
The process is simple: you grab a tray, pick your ingredients from a wide variety of fresh veggies, tofu, noodles, seafood, and a great selection of meats like thinly sliced beef, lamb, and marinated chicken. Everything is priced by weight, so you only pay for what you take, which I really liked. No pressure—just pick what you like!
Once you’re done choosing, they cook everything in the broth you select. I went with the spicy broth, and it was so flavorful without being overpowering. The meats were tender, the veggies cooked perfectly, and the portion was super satisfying.
What really made this place stand out is the value. It’s very affordable for the quality and quantity of food you get. PLUS, they offer free drinks and a Taiyaki ice cream during Happy Hour (3 PM - 5 PM)—such a fun touch that made the meal even better!
They also have bubble tea if you're craving something sweet to go with your meal. The vibe is casual and cozy, and the staff were super friendly and helpful.
Highly recommend this spot whether you’re new to hot pot or already obsessed. It’s worth every penny, and I’ll definitely be coming back with friends!

I recently went for dinner’s at Myth Grill & Yakitori Bistro in Richmond, and it was a delightful experience. The restaurant offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for an evening out.
The menu is extensive, featuring a variety of yakitori options. I particularly enjoyed the Angus short ribs and chicken thigh skewers; both were grilled to perfection and bursting with flavor. The charcoal-grilled lobster was another highlight—succulent and well-seasoned. For dessert, the charcoal-grilled Japanese sweet potato with custard sauce was a unique and satisfying end to the meal.
Service was attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall dining experience. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations.
Overall, Myth Grill & Yakitori Bistro offers a memorable dining experience with its flavorful dishes and warm ambiance. I look forward to returning and exploring more of their menu.

Ever since I started eating at this place, I’ve been hooked! Their skewers are super clean, flavorful, and just so good. Especially the grilled chicken liver — cooked to a perfect medium, it’s absolutely delicious. And the free-range crispy chicken? So crunchy and tasty! Honestly, everything here is great. I find myself coming back again and again — once you’ve been, you just want to return. After a few days, I’m already craving it again.

Their grilled sea bass with spicy garlic sauce was the best. The skewers were up to standard, and the small octopus was fresh and delicious. The beef ribs weren't as expected; the beef was a bit too thin and dry.
Overall, still a good spot for drinks and chat.

Whether you're gathering with friends or seeking to immerse yourself in the ambiance of a Japanese izakaya, this establishment delivers satisfaction. On my next visit, I look forward to sampling more of their diverse skewers and indulging in another delightful grilled feast.
