5 Star Rating I want to take a moment to truly appreciate the incredible team at Tim Hortons, 195 Terminal Ave, Vancouver. Kiran, the manager, has done an outstanding job leading a hardworking and dedicated staff who handle an incredibly challenging location with professionalism, patience, and grace. This location is small and is always bustling with heavy traffic, from busy commuters looking for a quick meal to less fortunate individuals who seek shelter. The staff here face everything—from friendly regulars to difficult and even threatening situations—yet they continue to serve with unwavering dedication. It is overwhelming (in the best way) to see how they power through, keeping up with the rush while maintaining their commitment to excellent service. Kiran’s leadership shines through in how well-trained her team is. She has instilled in them a sense of compassion and professionalism, ensuring that every customer—no matter who they are—is met with kindness and a smile. The staff work tirelessly, often under immense pressure, yet they never let it show. Whether it’s preparing quick on-the-go meals or handling unexpected challenges, they hustle through the grind, making sure everyone is served efficiently. I have deep respect for the resilience and work ethic of this team especially because the location is so challenged. Their job is not easy, yet they show up every day, ready to serve, adapt, and make the best of every situation. If you stop by, take a moment to appreciate their efforts. A kind word or a simple “thank you” can go a long way in lifting their morale. They deserve all the recognition for the hard work they put in daily. Hats off to Kiran and her amazing team—your dedication does not go unnoticed!

4 Star Rating Love this place, except that not all staff are on the same page with how to fill their spoons when making the wraps. Shouldn’t have to ask to have a proper amount — a tsp of filling isn’t sufficient. 2nd time I’ve had a wrap and the first few bites are only pita because it isn’t full. Normally can get 2 servings out of 1 because they’re big and full! But not always, depends on who makes it-_- which is kinda annoying.

4 Star Rating First off I'd like to say that I am a man of all cuisines but Japanese food has a special place in my heart! I was driving westbound on Terminal Ave approaching Main St. when the snarled traffic diverted me onto Station St.The words 'Sushi' and the hard to see open neon sign caught my attention like a squirrel to a dog. So I did it! I went right after work at 445pm and slithered my way through the Train terminal as Ekki Sushi was located inside Pacific Central station. The station itself was bare, and there were signs directing you to the restaurant. The restaurant is located on the right side of the station, a bit hidden so there were a few signs pointing to the little shop. There's a table partition at the entrance of the restaurant with menus and a bottle of hand sanitizer. The chef comes out and takes my order, he's a nice young gentleman. I ordered Salmon Poke and a California roll and he said 15 minutes. I head out to my car and wait. Come 5pm I try going back into the station *tug & yank* hmm seems like the doors are locked (presumably for safety purposes), and a printed sign says 'please dial xxx' to open the door, and so I do! Phew, thought I had been late to pickup my order and the station locked me out! So I head in following my nose and sitting at the partition was my food ready and waiting. I thank the chef and I head out for another 'trunk meal'. Unbeknownst to me the chef snuck in a bowl of miso soup *thank you very much* I quickly open my food and was amazed at the detail and attention to my poke...then how my California rolls were so perfectly shaped and proportionately made. I ate it all and washed it down with the soup, PERIOD! The poke bowl was at the perfect temperature with all the 'new school' toppings without going over board. The fish was soft and a bit chewy texture, salmon. The California roll was tasty as it's well proportioned (none of those gargantuan Cali rolls *I'm looking at you Samurai Sushi*). Overall, this place is a true hidden gem. At first I thought the prices I saw online was what I'll be paying, but upon comparison the menu I saw was larger and contained more options. TLDR; poke bowl was delicious. California roll was delicious. Washed down with miso soup, too was delisioso! Will return.

3 Star Rating Nothing special about the portions or the flavors. Price was only acceptable due to the 32% off discount on Fantuan. We pre-ordered for 5:00 - 5:30pm delivery. The restaurant started preparing the food around 3:30/3:45pm. Our food was ready for delivery around 4:00pm. Unfortunately, because our food was not scheduled for delivery until 5pm, so, our food just sat there for at least an hour before it was picked up by our delivery person. Delivery took another 30 minutes or so. So, by the time we got our food, the hot food was cold, cold food was room temperature. Most unsettling was that they packed one of our sushi with the hot udon and the sushi was warm. From a food safe point of view. I would not order from this restaurant again. Two stars only because we didn’t actually get food poisoned. Edit: delivery app followed up and said the restaurant might not have known when the delivery period was and started the order too early due to a system error. With this clarification I will give them benefit of doubt and revise to 3 stars.

4 Star Rating Stumbled across this place as they were reopening under new management. It feels a bit impersonal that you are separated by a big plastic screen. The latte itself was weak, not sure what’s up with their beans. They still need to get a bit more organized, as they don’t have a trashcan or a place where you can add sugar to your drink, and it took them a very long time despite being empty.

3 Star Rating I recently tried Spanish cuisine for the first time. While taste is subjective, I found the atmosphere enjoyable, with great decor. However, the portion sizes were quite small compared to the price, which made it feel like it lacked value. The service was average—staff greeted us, took our order, and processed the bill, but nothing beyond the basics. I’m giving it 3 stars mainly due to the price. While the food wasn’t to my personal taste, that could simply be because it was my first experience with Spanish cuisine. Out of all the food I ordered I only liked the chicken wings which I happened to forget to snap a pic.

4 Star Rating I really enjoyed the atmosphere and loved their tapas menu. The taste of the food wasn’t the best, but I still appreciated their tapas culture. The seafood paella we ordered was great; it was the only dish I truly enjoyed during our meal. Some people might disagree with me, but for me, it tasted better than what I had in Spain. Overall, I would give it a 4/5.

4 Star Rating I was surprised by this spot - really different menu options than the usual Tex mex style Mexican food you find. The machetes (large quesadillas) were massive, so tasty and filling. The fresh made blue corn tortilla was stand out. The elotes were so good - so much cheese and the type of corn used was really good - less sweet and really tasty. Definitely order less than you think you’ll need, and come hungry. Service was a bit slow as only one person working in the front, though once we ordered food arrived quickly.

5 Star Rating Unexpectedly good. A nice warm homey meal. The kale salad wasn’t that special but gets the fiber in. Beef noodle soup is definitely a highlight because the noodles tasted fresh and not too hard or overcooked. The beef was cooked to a good tenderness not too soft and not too hard. The soft boiled egg was perfectly jammy. The fried chicken in the crispy rice bowl was also amazing I think the crunch is very unique to this restaurant.

5 Star Rating Torafuku – 7 Course Omakase Experience (Vancouver BC – Father’s Day visit) We made a reservation at Torafuku on Father’s Day and the team was super welcoming. The vibe was laid back but still refined. Warm lighting, friendly service, and a creative tasting menu made it a great choice for the occasion. Here’s how the seven courses went down — each one brought its own little surprise. ⸻ Zucchini This starter was fresh and vibrant. You get zucchini salad with preserved lemon vinaigrette, crispy zucchini tempura, and a fluffy whipped lemon ricotta. It felt like the kind of dish that resets your palate and wakes you up in the best way. ⸻ Foie and Buns 👍👍 This was rich and playful. The foie gras and chicken liver parfait were creamy and smooth, served with a fruity compote and crushed hazelnuts on soft house made milk bread. A perfect sweet and savory bite that didn’t feel too heavy. ⸻ Scallop Crudo A really refreshing dish with thinly sliced Hokkaido scallop, compressed Asian pear, and a slightly tart rhubarb aguachile. Then they added elderflower orange ice crystals that melt and give you this cool floral note. Every bite had texture and temperature play going on. Really well done. ⸻ Wagyu👍👍👍 This was my favorite. The wagyu beef hanger had great flavor without being too fatty. The roasted morel mushroom and spicy truffle tare gave it that creamy earthy base, and the pickled onions cut through to keep things bright. What really made it pop was the slightly sweet naan bread. All those flavors layered together in one bite felt rich, fresh, and balanced. ⸻ Halibut The halibut was pan seared and tender. Served over summer greens with crispy radish and fingerling potatoes. What made it stand out was the green curry and salmon roe. It was a fusion of comfort and brightness that brought a whole different mood to the meal. ⸻ Cornish Game Hen This turmeric fried chicken had a lot going on in a good way. Smoky fermented chili sambal brought the heat while the cucumber and pandan coconut rice cooled it down. It was bold and homey — kind of like something you’d get from a family kitchen but elevated. ⸻ Sweet Tooth – Basque Cheesecake For dessert I chose the Basque cheesecake. It was smooth and mellow with a subtle char flavor and came with seasonal berry compote. Not too sweet or tart — just a creamy finish to round out the meal. ⸻ Drinks I ordered a smoky old fashioned (and maybe a second one) and it paired perfectly with everything. Not too strong, just enough to sip and enjoy between dishes. ⸻ Final thoughts Torafuku nails that sweet spot between fancy and fun. The seven course tasting is a great value at $75 per person. The flavours are creative, the portions are satisfying, and the whole experience feels thoughtful without being too formal. Perfect for a date night, a celebration, or just treating yourself. My only complaint is that I had to wait five minutes just to get my bill… they can use an extra staff for sure.

4 Star Rating Be sure to make a reservation if you’re having dinner here as it can get busy. We came to Torafuku to celebrate and try out their summer tasting menu which was 7 courses shared between two people (4 appetizers, 2 mains, and 1 dessert). We also ordered the non-alcoholic pairing for an additional $18 and just chose which drinks we wanted to try out. Highlights: Appetizers: Wagyu - very beefy and the sauce was really paired well with the beef and the mushrooms. Scallop Crudo - the scallop was fresh and the sauce was slightly spicy but refreshing. Main: None unfortunately. They were lacking in taste compared to some of the appetizers. Dessert: Mille Feuille - we didn’t know what this was but we ordered it anyways. Simply exquisite and so fun to try out with the different types of cream in between the puff pastry. Drink: Tamarind Collins - different but in a good way. Refreshing and light and the tamarind taste is not overpowering. When we came around 6:30 pm on a Thursday, it was nearly empty but around 7:00 pm, more and more people came in. We spent around 2 hours enjoying the different courses and the conversations. Atmosphere was very relaxed and the service was attentive even though there was only really one server working the whole restaurant. For two people, it was over $200+ for the summer tasting menu and the 3 non-alcoholic drinks. Overall, it was a good experience but I wished that the mains were a bit more memorable.

5 Star Rating So good! Honestly the tasting menu exceeded our expectations especially for being one that’s quite popular on social media (usually these are no good). It’s probably the best valued tasting menu I’ve ever had. We had to pack food home. Everything was good except for the fish dish - it was incredibly dry and bland and just so underwhelming. Having gotten that out of the way, all the appetizers were stunning and so light and fresh. We were quite stuffed already when the mains arrived. But the Vietnamese inspired steak and southeast Asian fried chicken were so good! Really love the wide range of Asian flavors and inspo in each dish. Feel like we just toured Asia 🥹 And omg the desserts were to die for. NOT TOO SWEET!! The avocado mousse miso cream cheese raspberry Mille feuille was such a good combination and so LIGHT. And the basque cheesecake was also so light and not sweet we loved it and we don’t even like cheesecake. Only downside is service can be veryyyyy slow when it’s busy, with only two waiters. Please hire more staff! But overall such a nice clean quaint & cozy space, and can tell that every dish is made with love and rly appreciate the wide range of Asian flavor twists not just Taiwanese or Chinese or Japanese. Oh but pls get rid of that fish it was borderline inedible 😭

2 Star Rating Totally overrated. For $75 a person, the food was underwhelming and overly pretentious. Fusion done badly—some dishes looked like cheap takeout dressed up for Instagram. The mille-feuille was a joke: three tiny, weird-tasting pieces that had no business keeping that name. The place was pretty empty on a Friday night, which says a lot. Worst part? The sketchy area. Felt unsafe walking in, with drug addicts nearby and a pill bottle outside the entrance. Service was fine, but everything else missed the mark. Hard pass.

Reviews

5 Star Rating Pho Quynh Express is fast, friendly, and always delivers. The service is quick, the staff are welcoming, and the food is consistently great. The pho is flavourful, the spring rolls are some of the best I’ve had, and the avocado shake is unbeatable. No hype, just a reliable spot with great people and great food, every time.

4 Star Rating Tried this Vietnamese restaurant since it was one of the last places open when I got off work. I ordered the stir fried vegetables with rice, which is the only vegetarian option on the menu, and a salted plum soda. Huge portion of both veggies and rice. I could’ve split the dish in half to get two decent-sized meals. The veggies were cooked in a thin, brothy sauce which was subtle but tasty. While not a super impressive dish, it was good as something simple and healthy which is what I was craving. I also enjoyed the plum soda, which had lots of plum pieces. Prices were a little higher than expected. The veggie dish and soda plus tip was $30. I’d kind of expected something in mid-20’s just because it was mainly veggies with just a few pieces of tofu, and veggies and rice are not that expensive. Not much ambiance here, as is typical of express pho places, but the waiter was very friendly. The food came out quickly.

5 Star Rating Delicious food, good service, and very generous proportions. We got the XL pho dac biet and a small dry noodle dish. More than enough food for 2 adults and a toddler.

5 Star Rating loved the food i got here!! i had the grilled prawn with vermicelli noodles and spring roll and it was so bomb!! my boyfriend got a pho here too, i forgot exactly which one it was but i saw it had prawns in it and the broth was tasty!! service was quick! and the complimentary tea was super tasty! location is great too, being so close to the sky train station and all. although i came her during the day, im happy its open late because i definitely want to eat here before a night out with friends in the future!! i will definitely be coming back. only thing is that there weren’t any vegetarian options if thats an issue for u!
