Had a great experience at the Old Spaghetti Factory in New Westminster. The location is fantastic and super convenient, especially if you’re taking the SkyTrain, its easy access makes it a great spot for a casual lunch or dinner. One of the best things about dining here is the meal combo. Starting with soup or salad and ending with coffee and ice cream makes the experience feel complete and wholesome. It’s definitely great value for money, especially for families or groups. The food overall was very good, although there were a few areas that could have been even better. We tried a variety of dishes — the marinara sauce in the seafood linguini could have used a bit more citrus brightness, and the butter sauce spaghetti could have been a little saucier. That said, the food was still enjoyable, portions were satisfying, and the overall experience was great. Would definitely come back!

We brought a large group of 12—eight adults and four kids—and making a reservation ahead of time was definitely the right move. Most of us, including two of the kids who eat adult-sized portions, ordered the "It's All Included" option. It is an incredible value, and we even managed to timing it perfectly to hit the Happy Hour specials as well. Our server—a tall, lean, blondish guy whose name I unfortunately missed—was incredibly patient and attentive with our large party. The standout moment of the night happened when nine of us abruptly left the table to go outside and search for a guest's lost item of high sentimental value. Instead of just dropping our entrees on an empty table to get cold—which is what most restaurants would do—the server noticed the situation and had the kitchen hold our food back until we returned. That level of thoughtfulness and exceptional service is exactly what made our evening special.

The food was amazing, especially the steamed mussels. The only criticism is the French onion soup was way too salty. The place was extremely busy but the servers did a wonderful job ensuring they were attentive to our table. Pasta dishes were delicious and the spinach salad was fresh. We will definitely be eating here again. Thank you!

Amazing food, amazing service, and overall a bang for your buck. The servers are attentive without doing too much, they are clearly well trained and know how to excel at their job. This is a down to earth kind of place that feels cozy. If you want homey vibes and decently delicious food i definitely recommend OSF! P.s. get the spumoni ice cream it’s the best!

Great value for a family meal. We went with a large group, so service was a bit slow to start, but once drinks were out, everything moved along smoothly. Portions are generous and the food hits the spot. You really can’t go wrong here!

It’s rare for us to be in this area but we got bubble tea across the street. The retro exterior drew us in. The place was pretty packed and for sure passed the vibe check. Reminded me of a classic diner from back in the day. Old photos, eclectic ornaments, the whole nine. Our server was friendly and chirpy. Unfortunately me and my wife’s patties tasted sour. The sauces couldn’t even mask the taste. After seeing the great reviews I really want to chop it up as a bad batch of burger meat. The soup was mediocre as well. We overheard the conversation at the table beside us so we had to engage. They had the same experience. “I just ate it but I didn’t enjoy it” I’m a local guide on here so I tell it the way it is. I get it, it’s hard as heck for a restaurant to sustain in today’s economy but the head chef should really double check the patties before sending it out. Especially for a place specializing in their burgers. Didn’t have the heart to tell our server until I paid for the bill. Wasn’t looking for any compensation but I needed the chef to know. Ended up paying $70 + tip.

When people ask what my favourite food is, I will always say the Thai Beef Burger from Burger Heaven. I’ve been going here for over 10 years, and have one ever had 1 other burger on the menu (which was excellent). I’ve since moved away from living in the lower mainland and will also make the trip out to New West. What I love is the consistency: the burger has never changed and has never disappointed. Toppings are always fresh, sides are great, and love the option for a salad/wedge split. The strawberry balsamic dressing is so good too, and an excellent compliment to the peanut butter on the burger. Don’t knock it until you try it! Service is always friendly and attentive too. Atmosphere is unique with all the photos on the hall. It’s always fun to find your friends on the Ernie hall of fame (or shame 😉) Highly, highly recommend this burger spot. You will not be disappointed!

One of the last few independent local bastions left that serve great burgers that are hot and juicy with a lovely char. Serving portions are generous, pricing is reasonable, but not cheap — you get what you pay for — and the atmosphere has a funky vibe. Service was efficient and informative. My Hulk burger was enormous and very, very tasty. Fries are not offered here, potato wedges are and they are the real deal that are crispy outside, fluffy inside. There’s offerings for all appetites, big and small.

One of the best places for burgers! Portions are huge, burgers are juicy, fries are thick, and plenty of milkshake flavors to choose from. Been a favorite place to go since I was a kid! Service is always great, never had a bad experience here. Definitely check it out and support a local business!!

Burger tasted really good. Big thick Pattie’s in my hulk burger. Ordered a peanut butter and a strawberry milkshakes. But the strawberry ended up being a weird super sweet maybe butterscotch kinda flavour. Definitely not what we ordered. It was to sweet for my wife. I bearly made it through it and I’m a literal garburator when it comes to food. But it was take out so didn’t find out till we got to the hotel. Fries had absolutely no seasoning on them and no Napkins in the bag. So had to make a second trip to a close fast food restaurant to get salt and napkins.

Really versatile BBQ dining place. The selection of dishes covers different meats and amazing sides like poutine. The wait for fresh food is not too long and they have a portable buzzer that lights up to tell you your dish is ready. I had the dry ribs special with a great sauce - yum. Sit down dining is in bench style shared by several of the restaurants here. Staff are friendly and prices are not too high. It can get busy very quickly.

Do not waste your money on the beef brisket poutine, there was minimal gravy, hardly any curds, the brisket was dry and flavorless. 17$ after taxes and tip. I understand Vancouver food scene isnt what it used to be. But this isnt inspiring any comeback.

I always get their fried chicken and its always made fresh and I love their coleslaw and bbq sauce which they serve it in. Great flavour and always made to order which I like. Ive been coming here many times over the years.

The place for good brisket, way better than Rib Fest. The place doesn't look like much but food tastes real good. Will be back for ribs. Coleslaw was good too, fresh not over mayoed.

Just decided on a whim to do a business lunch here and let’s just say everyone was impressed. Food was fresh, delicious and all made mostly in house. The French fries are cut in the kitchen and are worth ordering. Clubhouse, Halibut burger and Halibut Fish:chips were all enjoyed. Server was fantastic and charming. Great spot. No wonder reviews are high for such a hidden treasure in eastvan. They even gave us a welcome appetizer. And 10% off our next visit. Small business done right.

I cannot recommend this place enough. Homemade food. The best vegetarian breakfast wrap I’ve ever had. The service is impeccable and personable. Lovely humans and great vibes. Go here the place deserves good customers.

Food is ok, definitely an extra heater somewhere would make a difference. We were told certain tables were only for lunch customers and expected a big rush, but it was empty throughout the entire morning until around midday. Food is okay (we tried the famous cinnamon bun and found it to be nothing special), drink was good, atmosphere could use an upgrade. I’m a big supporter of small businesses but charging the same prices as nice coffee shops with a not so welcoming space makes me not want to return.

I initially was very disappointed. I overheard the guy working telling two older ladies that he serves nothing vegan, and that the grilled cheese is a combo only, no way to get it alone. When the ladies asked about the soup flavors, instead of just telling them he told them to look at the board. The female worker i first encountered was much more pleasant. This guy was quite monotone, and lacking any emotion other then perceived "how do i get you in and out faster". Later on the lady who is much more pleasant, list me know that there is vegan treats available. Both were very yummy.

First time having really great tasting food at a cafe (mango wrap). The dirty chai was also spectacular ! Close to Douglas campus and New West skytrain station. It's operated fully by the owner and their partner that tend to lots of customers daily. I'll definitely make sure to come by more often. They were very attentive to customers even during the busiest rush. Small detail, but the groovy music selection also made perceived time waiting in line pass by quickly and comfortably.

Love their Sushi and my go to place to grab a fast food meal. Good in quality and portions. It’s a small place with a seating of 10-15 people. Their service is good, nothing much to complain about.

Great location just below the NEW WEST train platform. You pay first You order upfront and pay right away(the machine has tipping option) then front staff will call your ticket number to pick up order. I wasn’t sure whether to leave my tray on the table or get up to bring it back to cashier? which felt weird coz there’s a service tip? But I was happy the lady from front caught me before I finished up she offered to take the tray from me. :)

Such a pleasant surprise at the New Westminster skytrain station. Simple, fast, fresh, delicious, and large portions for the price in a spotless environment. We came on a weekday at 12:30pm not expecting much. But our order of Favorite Combo came quickly and in large portions with free miso soup. Kiddo was excited and satisfied. Bookmarking for future visits.

I ate here back in November though I forgot to leave a review but here it is! This place feels so cozy and warm, and the food was amazing too. A little dramatic but eating here had left such a big wonderful impression on me. I got the deep fried chicken steak and it was the best meal I've had in a while. Chicken was fried and seasoned really well. Everything was served fresh, it felt like i was going home and having a nice warm home-cooked meal. Highly recommend, support family businesses!!

Today, I visited a small Taiwanese cafe opposite Douglas College (New Westminster campus). The prices are affordable, and the food quality is also excellent. For just $16, I enjoyed a meal that included a fried chicken chop, a small dish of stir-fried cabbage, a small plate of Taiwanese snacks, and a piece of green onion omelet. It’s clear that the owner is very thoughtful and cares about their customers' health, which is commendable. I will definitely be returning for more!

My new favourite place to eat, especially now that its getting cold. It’s a perfect spot for comfort food. Many people complain about the portion and I do wish there was more scallion chicken but the way it was seasoned was just unbeatable. Paired with such balanced well seasoned sides, it was a delicious, comforting and filling meal. I especially love the topping on the rice. & the workers are lovely. I love how its decorated as well.

Visited this boutique Taiwanese restaurant in June 2024. The menu is a highlight of Taiwanese cuisine, with a lot of signature dishes of local Taiwan food. The dining area is a bit small, with about 10 to 12 seats. Food was served in a very delicate manner, with a lot of side dishes. The fried chicken we had was nice and beef noodle was very close to what we had in Taipei. Overall a lovely night and we will go again soon.

This is a great place to visit if you're looking for delicious gelato. They have a wide variety of flavors and it's a wonderful addition to River Market, where you can experience a unique vibe. The staff is friendly and attentive. You might have to wait a bit for your order, but it's definitely worth it. I love all the varieties offered here, the kids really enjoy it, and I love the decor and vibe. Don't worry if you don't have enough space inside, you can easily use the common food court area or take a nice walk outside enjoying the lovely river scenery.

Third time, shared pizza, not as spectacular as ice cream, dough was pale and undercooked, toppings were sparse. I see what people say about staff, this time they were pretty clueless and not really helpful. Again didn't get to try Pizza, maybe next time but Ice Creams just as good as remembered. Sweet tangy pink grapefruit felt like eating crushed frozen fruit and Chocolate like a melted frozen chocolate, Scrumptious! Staff couldn't have been more pleasant. They do not do tastings, probably to much trouble when busy but do other food places??? Of course not. Maybe could do an after you pay, try a couple? Anyway great Icecream Couldn’t try the pizza but if its as fabulous as the ice cream…. Best Ice cream i’ve had here and I’ve tried a lot! This is tasty, luscious cold and soft. Service was fine, wish we could have had more, hopefully another time.

Friends recommended their gelato to us, and the gelatos are really nice. We ordered a Lotus biscuit flavor and a cannoli pistachio flavor, which are both with a richness of aroma. They have their own dining area, which has a glass roof with it to make it very bright and chill. The staff are friendly, and they will serve you the ice cream cones with a cone holder, which is very tidy.

Conveniently located at the new west SkyTrain station, on the ground floor. I had the good ol' Mozza burger. A hand- held that has been around for as long as I can remember. Compared to most traditional burgers, the flavors of the Mozza burger is much more subtle....as it is served without raw onions or mustard. This makes it a perfect burger for the shy eater. I also grabbed a couple of bacon chicken wraps for my daughter, as it is her go-to choice at A&W. The chicken is always flavourful and perfectly cooked. If you haven't visited this spot for awhile, do yourself a favor and go back.

Today I visited this A&W in the evening. I wanted to order a Poutine. The team member named khushi took my order. She was very amiable and her customer service was 10 on 10. Also my order was made fairly quickly and it was really fresh and tasty. I highly recommend this location of A&W.

I've been coming to Spud Shack since 2013 (which I believe was around the time they first opened) and have never been disappointed. At that time I had never had a poutine in Montreal, but whenever anyone would ask about the best poutine place, this would be the spot I'd tell them about. Being 100% honest, they would also be impressed. I had moved from Ontario, and whenever my friends and family visited, this place has become a sample of part of their trip. (They've all loved the routines!) There was a time this past year, I finally visited Montreal and had a poutine. And let me tell you, it was a good poutine, but I think Spud Shack has always had the best poutine for me, that my standards have become high when trying different places. The curds are great, the gravy is tasty and the fries stay crispy. This will always be the best poutine place for me and I'll always bring my visiting friends and family here for some awesome poutine!

After a couple years of walking by this place being forced to yet another meal at Big Way, I finally left my family at home and grabbed a poutine here. Absolutely amazing overall, the fries especially are great even on their own, and the flavours from the meat and in house made sauces just put the entire dish above and beyond any poutine I’ve ever had before. Ordered the Gaucho Cowboy, a medium, and it was the perfect brunch and more than enough for a heffer like me.

Starting my series of reviews of my favorite places for comfort food. Spudshack is located at one of the New Westminster skytrain stops. After a long day at work, missed lunch and no energy to make dinner - I hope out at this stop to pick up my poutine and a fork. So, if you've been on the train seeing me break open my take out box - yes, the food definitely can not wait. I not a big fan of poutine but these folks make me a believer.

I have been craving poutine so I came here to try out their poutine. They have a lot of options but Jamba took my eyes as I love chicken & shrimp. So I order Jamba and to my surprise they offer 10% discount for students so I was finally able to use my student privilege today😁 Also they have 10+/10 servers from their smile to their genuine need of customer satisfaction. I got my poutine and it took me 40min to finish even it was small size😁 so nice & comforting food I definitely recommend and will come back to try out their burger as well. Hope there was an option to give 10+

I got the Cajun Chicken burger. It is well grilled pretty good. But the main attraction here is the poutine. The Butter Chicken Poutine is Indian butter chicken sauce and real chicken on top of fries. Chicken a little dry in the inside but the butter chicken sauce makes up for it. Good for your taste buds. Bad for your cholesterol. Service is decent. It’s order and pick up. Small dining area but I think it is intentional to make it that way to get the cozy ambience.

As a recent vegetarian, I’m so glad to say this is truly the definition of vegetarian and/or veganism doesn’t need to be just tofu, cold salad, or expensive meals for a small portion! I got the rice platter, and the ginger chicken and black pepper beef were both warm, spiced and seasoned to perfection, and just so flavorful. They complimented the fresh salad so well and everything came together perfectly. Not to mention that the portion is insanely huge with lots of variety in the rice platter as well (Vegan Meat? ✅ Rice for some carbs and energy? ✅ Salad for some crunch and freshness? ✅ Tofu for extra protein? ✅ ) I was so impressed and happy to be having a nice, hearty, warm, and above all, yummy meal other than lentils and beans with my salad lol. Everything came out so quickly too (I placed a to go order and everything came out in less than 5 minutes??) The owner(?? Or the nice older person taking my order) was so incredibly kind and accommodating despite the language barrier. I can’t wait to return and try more things (I’m looking at you, salad rolls 🤤) Thank you for an amazing, warm & encouraging experience :)

What a gem of a restaurant. I want to start off by highlighting the friendly customer service in the restaurant. The staff really go out of their way to connect with their customers. Vegan Pork Chop Rice Plate: This is a standout item. I haven’t really found a meatless pork chop rice plate, so this option was really unique. The protein appeared to bean curd, so in actuality this was a bean curd chop. It was really delicious and worth trying out for how unique this was. Vegan Citrus Spare-Rib Baguette: Super delicious, super yummy, everything you’d want from a banh mi. You won’t miss spare rib once you eat this bad boy. Vegetable Soup: Pretty solid! Not much to say. Great cheap option to tack onto your meal if you are sharing with friends.
